Best Restaurants and Bars to Try on Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa | Eater San Diego

"Owner Nancy Chi founded the popular dessert cafe, Bing Haus, in 2016 before selling it in 2023. Her latest dessert venture, Sunday Ice Cream, is a modest scoop shop serving small-batch ice cream with Asian flavors, such as lychee sorbet, honey jujube, pandan, taro ube, and black sesame. The ice cream case also carries more conventional flavors, such as vanilla and strawberry milk. Flavors change on a regular basis, so it’s worth multiple visits. The shop makes it easy to try several flavors with scoop-split and mini-scoop options." - Helen I. Hwang

A unique ice cream shop with custom flavors like: Honey Jujube, Mango Passion Fruit, and others I can’t remember. The flavors were very nice, but a little sweet. The interior of the place was not very appealing, but you’re not coming here for the atmosphere. Overall a nice dessert stop after a lunch or dinner.

Google
I loved this place! Many unique flavors that are Asian inspired. They allow sampling. Service was friendly. We walked in around 2 or 3pm on a Saturday and it was empty, but after 10 mins the whole place got packed. The ambiance feels very inviting for families of all ages. There were many kids present. After we ordered our scoops they had complimentary condensed milk we could add to our ice cream. We ordered split scoops of Boricha & Jujube Honey split single scoop and Ube & Thai Tea split single scoop. They have limited seats with a few chairs outside the shop. Boricha: 4.5/5 Jujube Honey: 5/5 Ube: 4.5/5 Thai Tea: 4/5

Sunday Ice Cream – A Must-Visit Dessert Spot in Kearny Mesa Tucked inside the bustling Seoul Plaza, Sunday Ice Cream stands out as one of the best dessert stops in the Convoy area, especially after a hearty Korean meal nearby. Though the storefront isn’t large, the shop draws a crowd during weekend peak hours—and for good reason. The interior is decorated with warm, cozy vibes and artistic flair—from charming wall and window art, Polaroid photos, and logo T-shirts, to a restroom that somehow feels like home. The atmosphere alone makes it worth visiting. As for the ice cream, the quality of ingredients is clearly top-tier. Classic flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and matcha are creamy and smooth, but the ube (taro) is a true standout—rich in aroma and silky in texture. The Strawberry Milk flavor is equally impressive, striking a perfect balance between fruity and creamy. For something playful, try the Hello Panda flavor, which mixes crunchy Hello Panda biscuits and chocolate chunks for added texture and sweetness. The staff is friendly and patient, happily offering multiple samples to help you choose. On my visit, I was even given two generous scoops for the price of a single split. A crispy waffle biscuit comes with each bowl, and free condensed milk and sugar toppings are available for that extra touch of indulgence. Parking can be tricky during peak hours, but a garage and ample street parking behind the plaza make it manageable. Avoid coming late at night since the toppings and cookies might be out of stock. Sunday Ice Cream is a gem—perfect for cooling down after a savory meal nearby or just treating yourself to a sweet escape. A must-try in the Convoy neighborhood!

This place was amazing! Friendly staff and very clean place! The flavors where so good almost forgot to take a picture for the review lol all and all i definitely recommend for a good sugary treat to beat the heat ! Can't wait to go back already !

Google
Yummy ice cream at Sunday! Love the diversity of flavors, will need to come back to try more. We had the milo, oolong brown sugar, and hello panda flavors. Very tasty. Friendly staff and the ice cream is quickly prepared. Recommend!

Google
I don't go to many ice cream stores but my friend suggested going after our trip to Handoo right next to it. As always, the parking is a bit unreliable unless you get lucky or go on a weekday. The unique gimmick of this store is that all their flavors are Oriental! So stuff like tea, ube, and matcha. The prices seem high but their serving portions are incredibly generous. Definitely recommend getting a split scoop! The two scoop cone was a bit too much for me to handle. It's all made in store and they even have merchandise if you end up being that big a fan!

Google
Unique flavors like pandan, black sesame, and jujube honey ! Great quality ice cream. They also have lactaids and stickers ;)

Google
Sunday Ice Cream has classic Asian flavors as well as some new ones I've never tried, such as Injeolmi. We got pandan and taro ube in one split single scoop and the other was Thai tea with oolong. The pandan and Thai flavors were our favorites. All the flavors we tried were rich and had smooth, ice cream consistency. Each scoop comes with a piece of waffle.

Yelp
super unique Asian flavors galore! they have sooo many options and they're so generous with samples. think Asian flavors like black sesame, injelomi, banana milk, roasted oolong, etc. the ice cream texture is great and they give you a very decent size scoop for $5. the split scoop is a great deal for $6; you practically get the size of 2 scoops! they have rotating flavors but it's unclear how often they rotate. that just means you gotta go back to keep trying!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little ice cream spot I stopped by at after getting dinner in convoy. This place has many Asian flavors like pandan, injelomi, and ube that they are known for and rotate on a basis. Parking can be real busy, especially on weekends, I recommend trying to find a place in a nearby parking lot where people usually come in and out fast like the happy lemon lot right next to it. They are really fast with the service and I love how you can do a split scoop for an extra dollar and try two flavors. The ice cream was not too sweet and you can tell they probably make it in house. It's super creamy and a great flavor. Out of everything I've tried my favorite is the injeolmi since I haven't seen this flavor in any other store and the taste is really nutty and deep. Great ice cream and will be back whenever I'm in the mood for ice cream!

Yelp
This spot was recommended to me from a friend and it was similar to wanderlust creamery in some aspects. I think the flavors are very unique and not really showcased. It seemed homemade and the fact that you can add condensed milk and sprinkles was interesting to me. The service was very fast and they gave samples of each ice cream so I can enjoy the whole process. The ambiance was around 10-15 seats but mostly you eat outside situation if it was full inside. The flavors I got were ube taro and cookies and cream. Both are very good but I do think I should try different combinations like Pandan, melons, and even the Thai tea. Very Asian flavored inspired!

Yelp
In one day, I had several people tell me to check out this ice cream spot. It was a warm day, so I said, "Let's go" to my daughter. My first impression of this place was the simplicity and nothing about screamed "eye catching." The best places don't always have to be, and this place definitely proved to me. The flavors are so beyond what I thought it would be. They gave you as many samples so it was a hard choice, but I narrowed it down to Thai tea, matcha, and Vietnamese coffee. I noticed they do not like to waste plastic, and the samples to use are mini metal spoons. I loved the staff. I felt very welcomed, and I will most likely come back again.

Yelp
This is a cute and trendy ice cream shop that features lot of Asian inspired flavors including red bean, oolong brown sugar, black sesame, thai tea and more! You can also try the flavors before ordering, which I always appreciate! I got a scoop of the oolong brown sugar which was very creamy and not too sweet. It tasted like a milk tea drink, which is exactly what I had in mind! There is also a free topping area which includes sprinkles and condense milk. The line can be long and seating is limited, but I think this spot is worth to check out because of the unique flavors! The pricing is also not too bad compared to other specialty ice cream places.

Yelp
Incredible ice cream shop! Stopped by with a friend and we both fell in love. Quick and friendly service as well. I loved the strawberry milk and injeolmi ice cream. They were great together and would recommend that combo if you're looking for something not too sweet but nutty. My friend got melona and taro ube and she was super pleased. The taro ube tasted super authentic to the street vendors in the Philippines, which is such a plus. The interior is very pretty and simple. I loved the graphics! I will be returning to try more flavors as they are on rotation.

Yelp
Sunday Ice Cream is one of my top dessert places in Convoy!! Their asian-inspired ice cream flavors are delicious and top-tier. What I recommend: - My favorite flavor is the matcha. Matcha is intense and just like the matcha you get in Japan. No grassy flavor in sight. - The split scoop ($6.50): good sized portion compared to the single scoop for a dollar extra. You also get to try 2 flavors. - You can add condensed milk or sprinkles to your liking, I love a good condensed milk drizzle. Will be back again! I would choose this ice cream store over Wanderlust Creamery. Great service too.

Yelp
This place was excellent! I was excited when I heard an Asian ice cream shop had opened on Convoy. I love flavors that remind me of my childhood. I came by after dinner for some dessert and this place was very busy. It shares the cursed parking lot with submarine crab so you may have to do street parking. The flavors I opted for were Vietnamese coffee and banana milk. Anytime I see viet coffee ice cream I have to get it and I love Korean banana milk and this was my first time seeing that flavor anywhere. The scoops were HUGE. I got a split scoop and you can see in the picture how big the split scoops are. I'm glad I didn't get the 2 full scoops. The ice cream was rich, not too sweet, but packed with flavor. The banana milk was my favorite of the two since it's more unique but the Viet coffee was excellent as well. There's limited seating inside

Yelp
Great service. Great Asian flavors, nice and creamy, great texture. Reasonable price for serving size. Good luck finding parking though.
google avatar

Melanie S.

Yelp
A cute shop that has a variety of yummy Asian ice cream flavors! The texture is a mix of ice cream and gelato depending on the flavor you get which is nice. Def get the split single option, it's a good value! It is also open pretty late for SD!!

Yelp
This place looks like a is key hole in the wall but it's the a new and very popular ice cream shop! The line goes out the door at night. I thought it was cute and busy. The employees were very polite and patient with me trying samples. Even tho they had a long line they never rushed me . The flavors are interesting and unique! I tried the oolong brown sugar , taro ube, and black sesame. And then ended up matcha, the matcha is very strong almost bitter. I can tell the quality is very good, i can't wait to come back to try a few more flavors. I'm happy they give you a free little bite of sugar cone. You're also able to add condensed milk or rainbow sprinkles for toppings for free.
google avatar

Ling L.

Yelp
Got the brown sugar oolong and black sesame. Brown sugar oolong was slightly sweet and had an after taste of oolong. Makes me want to find a roasted oolong soft serve. The black sesame reminded me of the bi-rite creamery's black sesame in sf, very yummy Also tried a bit of the matcha ice cream and it's STRONG. Workers were all super sweet and allowed us to try samples. It can get really loud and busy in here and you'd be lucky if you're able to snag a seat.

Yelp
I LOVE this place and will be coming back! They have unique flavors (boricha-barley, matcha, black sesame, red bean, and plenty more). They let you sample & they have the most delicious waffle cones! Service is phenomenal, the employee was really nice. There are several seats inside. There is limited parking but worth going around a couple times to find parking for this ice cream! I had the boricha and match & highly recommend both!
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
I finally understand what the hype is about! They have a ton of flavors to choose from and I like how they have a lot of Asian flavors like pandan and barley! The inside is really clean and I like how they have extra chairs on the side for bigger parties. Their ice cream is so creamy and I love how they offer complimentary sprinkles and condensed milk at the counter.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place since they opened and they truly did not disappoint!! As per usual in convoy, the parking situation isn't the best, but my friends and I stopped by on a Tuesday night, so we got lucky! When you walk in have a menu of flavors you can take a look at, and they range from vietnamese coffee, black sesame, yuzu, injeolmi, etc! I got the banana milk and the melona and they were so yummy, def not too sweet or anything. Cant wait to stop by again to try other flavors :)
google avatar

Simon S.

Yelp
My group arrived closed to closing time but they still accommodated us. Sunday Ice Cream had a lot of Asian flavors and they also let me sample them. It's a small little shop with a few tables inside and a couple of seats outside. I ordered a waffle cup with two full scoops of strawberry and injeolmi (roasted soybean). I also tried the Vietnamese coffee (which was pretty strong in terms of coffee flavor), banana milk (tastes like the Korean drink), and black sesame. It was a tasty treat and I'll probably revisit to try the other flavors.

Yelp
Food: 4 Service: 4.5 Ambiance: 4 Solid 4 stars all the way! We were craving ice cream on a Friday evening and decided to check this place out. It's tucked in a very busy section of convoy which actually adds to a lot of the experience. It was pretty busy this evening and we found parking a few blocks away (which wasn't a big deal). There was a small line but it was moving and this extra time did allow us a moment to decide which flavors we wanted. We are going ended up doing the split scoop (which are 2 flavors but equivalent to 1 scoop). We like doing it this way as we get a variety of different flavors. I got Vietnamese coffee and ube. These were extremely deep in flavor and quite rich but not overly sweet. I liked these flavors a lot! My friend got strawberry milk and banana cream(?) which were very delicious and light. Service was very good and we were able to sample some flavors. The place is pretty small but the ambiance is neat. I'm definitely returning!
google avatar

Arielle C.

Yelp
This place super cute and you get 10% off when you dine at friend's house. I was told that they serve really big scoops and offer a variety of flavors and wasn't disappointed. I tried all of the flavors but my favorites were banana milk, melona, and coffee. I liked the different flavor options but was a bit confused because the textures of each flavor were all so different. I'm not sure if this was on purpose or not but just be prepared to have a range of creamy to icy/dry textured ice cream depending on when you go. I went on a Sunday around dinner time and the line was out the door. I do like the fast and friendly service. I got to try each flavor and didn't feel in a rush to pick anything right away. I would go back to try something else when new flavors roll out.
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
I'm so excited this ice cream shop opened! It's all classic Asian flavors, the scoops are big and flavors are delicious! I got the split scoop of thai tea and premium matcha and I was very impressed with how much of each flavor came out in the ice cream. The matcha tasted like real matcha which is hard to find! I love that they had self-serve sprinkles and condense milk as you pay. They have a few tables to sit at inside. It is located in a really busy strip mall on Convoy so be patient with parking. Sometimes street parking is available too.
google avatar

Soo H.

Yelp
I love trying ice cream shops and noticed Sunday Ice Cream a few parking lots away from Dumpling Inn. Sunday Ice Cream has some interesting flavors. I picked 2. Vanilla was rich and creamy. Loved the sweet vanilla flavor. Yuzu sorbet was icy and had little bits of yuzu which gave bursts of delicious yuzu flavor. The ice cream is delicious here. I wish they sold pints or larger sizes. I prefer to buy in bulk and savor the deliciousness at my leisure at home. As there is no bulk discount I bought 3 scoops for $12 which was very expensive as I could get a quart for that much at Handel's.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute ice cream shop with huge scoops and many unique Asian ice cream flavors! Very fitting addition to Convoy! I got the a split scoop of strawberry milk and injeolmi in a waffle cone, and the scoops were soo big. They let you sample the different flavors before choosing, which I recommend if you've never had some of their cool flavors (like injeolmi, banana milk, melona, etc). At the end where you pay, they have a little tray of rainbow sprinkles and condensed milk that you can add for free, which I thought was so cute and thoughtful. The cups also have their own Sunday logo stickers that they hand stick (i think) on each cup. Everything about this place feels so comforting and homey. The interior is also very homey and cute, with their little posters and a few tables to sit at. My friend bought one of their Sunday shirts (very cute) for $27. Outside, they have a "thrifty" rack that they sell thrifted clothing pieces too!

Yelp
Super yummy Ice Cream spot located right in the middle of Convoy with yummy Asian Flavors! I've seen this place on social media so many times and my friends and I finally got around to trying it. It definitely did not disappoint and I see myself coming back. The spot is located in the same center as Handoo Korean BBQ and Friends House. So if you don't know, that is the one of the most busy parking lots and tightest parking lots. So yeah parking is 100% a challenge. What my friends and I did was park our cars somewhere else, like Zion market, hop into one car and then go to make it easier. The place itself was small but very clean. Seating was okay but if it gets crowded and yoh have a large group it could be a challenge. I had no issues with the service though. Employees were nice and helpful and got the job done quick. The flavors of the ice cream were so good! I had banana milk and melona and that combo was absolutely delicious. Both flavors were not overwhelmingly sweet. I also liked that I had the freedom to put however much condensed milk I want for free lol. My friend had ube and banana milk and the ube was so good! I definitely will be back! There were so many other flavors I wanted to try so I will bring my friends back and we'll definitely try some more! It's definitely a place to add to your list!

Yelp
I've been waiting for an ice cream shop to pop in Convoy and I'm glad it was Sunday! The ice cream is a culinary adventure. Each flavor is a carefully crafted masterpiece, blending traditional Asian ingredients with classic favorites to create a symphony of taste that's simply divine. From the Premium Matcha to the exotic Black Sesame, every scoop is a taste sensation that leaves you craving more. My favorites have to be the Vietnamese Coffee and either the strawberry or banana milk. Now, onto the ambiance - small and inviting. It's hidden in a corner of a small plaza (with very limited parking and seating inside). The menu is simple and not too expensive. Service was good, they thankfully let you try samples as some may not be familiar with the flavors. In conclusion, Sunday is more than just an ice cream shop; it's a destination for flavor seekers and ice cream enthusiasts who want to try Asian inspired flavors; perfect for after eating a yummy lunch or dinner in Convoy. So excited to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
Yummy asian flavors! Scoops are generous and vibes are nice. Some flavors have a more sorbet texture while others have a more creamy texture but all have decent flavor profiling!
google avatar

Alexander A.

Yelp
This is one of the easiest 5 stars I've given on Yelp. This ice cream shop has some of the best Korean and other Asian flavors. I get a split scoop every time I go, which comes out to be a generous portion of two flavors in "one" scoop. Between my fiancee and me, we've tried most of them this way. My favorites are the Injeolmi, Taro Ube, and Black Sesame. Injeolmi is a unique taste that works well as an ice cream flavor since it doesn't get too sweet. The same can be said for the other flavors, but what I really like about them is how well the flavors come across. They're unmistakable and tasty. It's a small shop, but it's clean and has plenty of seating. You might be caught in a long line in the evenings or on the weekends. Even so, the servers don't rush you and they're happy to help you with your treat.

Yelp
MORE LIKE... EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK ICE CREAM (4.5 stars) - THE CREAMS: yums - PRICE: very affordable - SERVICE: good - AMBIANCE: small Located in one of the many mini plazas in Convoy is this life cream shop tucked in the back. Good luck finding parking! :: ORDER :: I wanted to best of two worlds and went for the 1 SCOOP SPLIT for $6.46. This includes 2 flavors and 1 scoop each. Had this served in a a cup and it came with a silver dollar sized waffle. They make their waffles in-house and they are crispy and vanilla-y. MELONA - best Asian popsicle is a Melona bar so this was an absolute given. Melon/honey dew flavor was sweet yet light and creamy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAI TEA - wasn't sure which other flavor would pair well with Melona (that's not the boring basic of vanilla or strawberry, etc) and decided to go for this one. It didn't offset the other one but I also didn't mix and match my licks. Stick to a scoop and finish before dipping into the other. HIGHLY RECOMMEND JABA APPROVED. Good ice cream at an affordable price. Until the next review...

Yelp
Delicious ice cream in Convoy! In the same parking lot as Aqua Day Spa. Big shout out to the gentleman working who let me sample so many flavors! They have so many flavors that sounded good, I just could not decide so thank you! I enjoyed how creamy & sweet all of their flavors were. They have your tried & true flavors such as Strawberry Milk, Oreo & Vanilla. They have unique flavors like Banana Milk, Melona & Yuzu Sorbet. You cannot go wrong with anything!
google avatar

Sharon L.

Yelp
Interesting Asian and nostalgic flavors but I'm personally not a fan of the ice cream texture. I like thicker, creamier ice cream and this ice cream is softer and thinner (almost like it melts faster). Flavor-wise, the oolong brown sugar, strawberry milk, and Oreo were pretty good. Good price ($5 for single and $6 for single split) so I would recommend it if you like a thinner ice cream!
google avatar

Richelle S.

Yelp
I've been here twice already that's how good it is! The line wasn't too bad on a weekday but it can take a little long because they let you sample flavors. They have a decent selection of flavors and are mostly Asian. My favorites are the injeolmi, which is nutty, and taro ube, but there are many good flavors that it's hard to choose! They have a little tray at the register that has condensed milk and sprinkles if you want to add those on! The place is a bit small but very clean and they have a few tables to chill at. The bathroom was also very clean when I went. Parking can be a little hard at this plaza though!
google avatar

Yelp
This is now one of my new favorite ice cream shops in San Diego! Parking: It shares a parking lot with other restaurants. At 2pm on a Monday, there were plenty of spots. But keep in mind that if you go during dinner hours and weekends, this plaza can get pretty busy. Ambiance/Service: A small ice cream shop that has about 4 tables that seat 2-3 people and there's a small bench with no table outside. The place is clean and has nice lighting. There was no line when we came in but it quickly got busy! The lady helping us was very friendly and patient as we tried out many different flavors. Food: Split scoop ($6): I had a hard time deciding between all of them but I got the Black Sesame and Taro Ube and my friend got the Matcha and Oolong Brown Sugar. The flavors are sooo good and not overly sweet which is how I like it! There's a piece of waffle cone on top. I love how they have a condensed milk bottle and a jar of sprinkles by the cashier. Overall: I will definitely come back to this ice cream shop!
google avatar

Joey W.

Yelp
Excited to see an ice cream spot with Asian inspired flavors! Ube taro ice cream - the ube taro had a good balance of ube and taro. It was a rich flavor. The texture wasn't as creamy as I had hoped and also did not melt very fast. The ice cream held its shape when you scooped it. Overall, I enjoyed the unique flavors but felt the texture of the ice cream could be improved.
google avatar

Megan T.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! This ice cream shop is a true gem! The flavors and quality here is unmatched! I LOVED my ice cream!! The oolong was perfect - not too sweet and the matcha was thick & creamy (honestly reminded me of the matcha I had when I traveled to japan!) Overall, very impressed with the quality of the ice cream here and the prices!! $6 for one scoop & $8 for 2 scoops. Totally affordable and totally worth it! The inside is fairly small with only a few tables to sit and a bathroom. The line quickly got long and was out the door.. Parking can also be a hit or miss depending on when you go.. If you go on the weekend, the parking lot gets really packed as there are a ton of eateries nearby- so fyi. But again, thoroughly impressed & happy to find this place!! Yummy authentic Asian flavors! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I give five stars because I could probably hit up Sunday Ice Cream every day and not feel bad about it. Being an ice cream lover restricted by the realities of health lol, it's rare to find an ice cream that isn't too sweet and that's what sets Sunday Ice Cream apart in addition to its simple yet unique take on ice cream. Great, friendly service. They didn't make us feel bad for wanting to try everything! We loved the injeolmi and oolong tea flavors so much that we came back the next day for more. Sunday Ice Cream is located in a plaza that gets crowded quickly but I haven't had trouble finding parking. Chill vibes. Hope they keep on putting out more tea flavors!

Yelp
5/5 fosho. Great variety of asian inspired flavors! And very generous portions. I got the split scoop which was basically 2 scoops of ice cream in the flavors matcha and thai tea, another friend got the injeolmi and ube. Matcha and thai tea were really strong which I really enjoyed, especially the matcha. There is a little bit of bitterness. Ube was sooo good too, very prominent but was not too sweet and the injeolmi was smooth and delicious too. Servers were really friendly and offered if we wanted to taste all the flavors which we gladly did. Seating is a bit limited but it's pretty cute with the retro theme going on. The parking lot in the plaza is tight and is pretty full even tho we were there on a weeknight. But I would definitely come back again to get their other flavors.
google avatar

Yelp
Came into this small shop on a Wednesday and it wasn't too busy because it was raining. Love the aesthetics and vibe of this ice cream place. Their flavors are pretty strong, especially the vietnamese coffee flavor and everything is made fresh. Customer service was great, all the flavors were explained in great detail. It was $6 for a split scoop which I thought was pretty fair. Definitely coming back again to try their other flavors!! They sell cute shirts too :). Split scoop - strawberry milk + taro ube 9/10 Split scoop - vietnamese coffee + taro ube 8.5/10

Yelp
The ice cream here is super delicious and they have really unique korean inspired flavors! I got the strawberry milk and oolong brown sugar split scoop for $6. The serving size was so generous that I had to ask for an extra cup to split the ice cream. My friend just said "man, I dont remember the last time i finished ice cream by myself" as he finished his cup.

Yelp
New ice cream spot is in Kearny Mesa! Perfect for a quick pick me up after dinner. They're located in a busy plaza so parking can be tough at times. There was a mini line but it moved quickly. There were so many different Asian flavors!! My personal favorites were the black sesame, injeolmi, and ube taro. The flavors were deep and rich, which I love!! It would've been 5 stars but I think their scoop sizes are kinda small and inconsistent. I ordered 2 full scoops and they were the same size as my friend's 1 and a half scoop. The owner also was teaching a staff member how to scoop properly so definitely still a work in progress with employee training.

Yelp
So excited Sunday Ice Cream is open! Located on Convoy, they feature more Asian inspired flavors which is awesome! I got a split scoop of the black sesame and Thai tea and both were delicious! They even have sprinkles and a condensed milk that you can add to your ice cream by the register. They are located in a busy strip mall so parking can be tough but with some patience you will find a spot either in the parking lot or on the street. The business itself is rather small but has a few tables and chairs to sit at. A great nightcap after a meal on Convoy!

Yelp
I love the selection of popular Asian flavors here! This was the first time I've seen Red Bean ice cream offered at any ice cream shop so I had to try it. It tastes just like red bean popsicles and has red beans mixed into the ice cream. The injeolmi flavor works amazingly well as an ice cream and paired well with the red bean.

Yelp
If you're a fan of Asian flavored ice cream, then you're in for a treat! They have flavors such as black sesame, oolong brown sugar, red bean, ube, yuzu, and premium matcha to name a few. There are reusable metal spoons where you can sample all of the flavors before you commit to one (or two or three!). Yejin helped us with our order, and she was very friendly and patient while we sampled the various flavors. Of all the flavors that I sampled, what stood out the most was the premium matcha. It's a really intense matcha green tea flavor, bolder than any of the other ice cream shops. This flavor paired really well with the black sesame, so I ended up getting a single split scoop with the 2 flavors, that's 2 flavors for $6. (This is a good size for portion/calorie control. You feel like you're getting 2 full scoops when really you are getting 2 half scoops. For 2 half scoops, I would say it's a rather generous size.) My daughter got the oolong and matcha. Boyfriend got the ube and matcha. They have a bottle of condensed milk where you can drizzle onto your ice cream to amplify your treat! We were 3 very happy campers! The inside of the shop was rather small, but it had some small tables and chairs for small parties. At the entrance, there's a clothing rack with some thrift clothing for purchase at $5/$10 for most items. I got a really cute black top for $5. Not a bad deal! This is my new favorite ice cream shop!

Yelp
Came across this place after dinner, and I am very picky with my ice cream so I was happily surprised by this place. I am a big fan of Stella Jeans and their unique-not too sweet flavors, as well as the creaminess of their ice cream. I think this place still comes in second, BUT their ice cream is just as creamy and they also have really good flavors. The Oreo was sooo so good with the Ube taro flavor. I also like that they do split scoops, so you can still do one scoop but try different flavors. You can't really go wrong with any of the flavors here- just know that some of the Asian flavors are stronger than you'd think in an ice cream (like the Thai tea). Service is fast and they are really nice and offer samples too! Place is cute and small/just the ice cream shop with a couple small tables.

Yelp
There's always room for dessert. I was really excited to try Sunday Ice Cream shop because of all the asian inspired flavors. I got a split scoop for $6. It comes with your choice of 2 flavors, and the servings are just a tad bit smaller than a regular size scoop. They had matcha, red bean, strawberry, sesame, and a handful of other flavors, but the two that caught my eye were Taro and Vietnamese Coffee, and they were both wins! The ice cream was very creamy and not icy at all. Vietnamese Coffee strong and robust, yet still sweet, so they offered complimentary condensed milk to drizzle on top. Delicious. Ube Taro was the second flavor, and I loved it. Strong ube flavor, and it paired fine with the Vietnamese Coffee. I definitely have plans to go back!

Yelp
Came for soft opening and really enjoyed the ube ice cream. A small spot next to Handoo KBBQ with historically tight/not great parking but at least there's a parking lot! The red bean was also great and I love the split scoop option and mini scoop option they offered. The waffle bowl price of additional $2.25 seemed steep in my opinion. We liked the waffle chip topping. Service was friendly even though there was a wait. The shop inside is small but they have indoor seating and some stools out front, We will be back, they were very nice and generous with sampling flavors and overall ice cream was creamy and good quality.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place since they have unique Asian flavors that you can't find anywhere else! We came around 1:30pm on a Sunday and there was no wait. The staff were nice enough to let us try many of the flavors and we ended up getting the banana milk and strawberry milk. We got a cup of double scoop for $8. I really enjoyed the strawberry milk, it was so creamy and sweet, and the banana milk was good but could use more flavor. There were also free toppings, rainbow sprinkles and condensed milk, which was a super nice touch! I would come back to try their other flavors!

Yelp
Came here a Sunday afternoon after getting lunch nearby and there was no wait. The service was great and they were kind to let us sample a lot of the flavors. I was excited to try this place since I've never seen most of these unique Asian flavors anywhere! I settled on a double scoop of strawberry milk and banana milk in a cup ($8). They were creamy and not too sweet. There's a few tables inside to sit and enjoy. I wanna come back soon to try their other flavors and cones!

Yelp
A Sunday review for Sunday Ice Cream which just opened where a former travel agency used to be. The suite was located in the same Convoy District strip as Dumpling Inn & Shanghai Saloon. I don't even need to mention the awful lot situation as I parked several blocks away on a side street and walked over. The inside had limited seating with three or four tables and about ten chairs. Twelve flavors were available with several of them being Asian-based like the Injeolmi and Taro Ube. Prices were $5 for one scoop, $6 for split flavors as one scoop, and $8 for two scoops. A waffle cone cost $1.75. After sampling a few of the varieties, I settled for a combo of the Red Bean and Thai Iced Tea. Complimentary condensed milk came as a topping with the second flavor, but I declined. You could taste the red beans, however they were not as strong as the Thai-flavored iced tea. The latter was a concentrated, frozen version of the popular sweet beverage. There was a surge of customers that arrived as I was enjoying my treat. It became too crowded for my liking so I quickly finished and departed. The staff was very friendly so I hope the business can establish itself among the dessert competitors in this plaza.

Yelp
Parking, not too bad. It's a decent sized lot sharing the space with multiple businesses. It's in the same complex as Friend's House Korean Restaurant... Interior space is small but they made the most of it. It was quite cute and I loved the stained wood decor on the walls. On the right side as you come in-- there are about three tables available. And I think one table outside as well. The workers are friendly and patient. We tried a few of the flavors, I highly recommend doing so. They truly do give sample sizes and what I like is that they sample it using metal spoons. The handle is quite long which is nice. They have an array of options. You could get waffle cone, waffle cup, regular cup, mini scoops, half scoop, etc. But it seems every cup comes with a mini waffle piece anyways which I think was a lovely touch. My friend got the black sesame and then a scoop of Thai tea (with condensed milk drizzled on top). * These flavors were strong and delicious. They knocked the flavors out of the park. Compared to Stella Jeans, this Thai tea wins! * The flavor is really pronounced. And the black sesame was very pleasant. It tasted nutty and sweet. I had the Vietnamese Coffee (with condensed milk drizzled) and banana milk. I'm a huge banana fan which is why I chose this without sampling it. * I think this flavor would be a hit or miss for some people. It could possibly be reminiscent of the Korean Banana Milk (which I've yet to try)... for me it tasted more artificial or like a banana essence. The texture was more on the icy side than creamy. * Then the Vietnamese Coffee doesn't actually taste like Vietnamese coffee. At least it's creamy! It's just a solid coffee flavor-- reminding me of haggendaz! This is not a bad thing at all, I think it's good. My grandpa would probably enjoy this. In addition to these flavors, they had: strawberry milk, premium matcha, oreo..., yuzu sorbet, taro ube, red bean, injeolmi, house vanilla, etc! Quite a good selection and they had a steady flow of customers when we were there. Definitely come give them a try! Asian inspired flavors. Check their hours to see when to come and enjoy with your family/friends. (:

Yelp
great ice cream shop the flavors are unique. Friendly staff. There are a few seats inside the shop to sit. There's a free parking lot but it was kind of hard to find parking.

Yelp
New ice cream spot on Convoy that's serving Asian flavors. Some are well-loved like ube and matcha, and others less commonly seen like banana milk and injeolmi (ie kinako). It's still soft opening and the staff are friendly about samples. I tried almost all of them on my first visit and there weren't any bad flavors. During busy times, their waffle cones can take a while (staff said 20 min) so hopefully they figure out how to be more efficient with the timing in the future. There is limited seating inside but at least the parking lot isn't the worst on Convoy. My top flavors: -Injeolmi - perfectly balanced, not too sweet -Strawberry milk - classic, fruity, creamy -Yuzu - this one is a sorbet and really helps cut the creaminess of some of the other flavors My least liked flavors (but none were bad): -Matcha - some friends liked it a lot but it tasted too strong of matcha powder with a bitter aftertaste, which should not happen with high quality matcha -Ube - like matcha, this one is obviously flavored with powder and therefore tastes a bit artificial We loved the place so much we returned for a second time one week later. Seems like crowds have calmed down a little. I specifically returned for a pint because the injeolmi is that good. All of my friends had gotten pints during our first visit but I did not. I regret it now because the staff told us they aren't serving pints yet and couldn't do it. They also said maybe my friends got pints because they were friends with Nancy (who I presume is the boss or owner?) But my friends and I definitely don't know Nancy. I texted my friends afterwards and they're shocked and bummed - since they are also ready for return for new pints. It's a huge bummer that the service is already so inconsistent in one week's time. Honorary mention: I also like banana milk a lot but between my two visits, one was perfect and the second time it was on the icy side. Overall, it seems like they need some time to flush out operations more, but solid ice cream!

Yelp
*This review is for the bathroom only* Where to begin... There's just one unisex single-stall bathroom in the shop. It's huge! It's clean and minimalist in decor. All the good touches: Touch-free sensor hand soap dispenser Touch-free sensor faucet with single faucet handle Excellent toilet paper Clean Seat liners Notes: Trash can is close to the toilet which is kind of gross but didn't smell It would be better if they had a small lidded trash can next to the toilet and put the big trash can under the sink and farther from the toilet The bathroom also was a bit smelly so air freshener would be good too The door lock must be pushed, not turned - it would be better if they wrote push on the tape haha instead of Sunday and maybe just "push to lock" on the tape instead of "push! pls don't turn" All in all though - an all-star bathroom! So refreshing to see a small business with an awesome bathroom.
