Everything about this place is perfect down to the top. The nostalgia visiting this place is outstanding. The pizza is super affordable, and garlic knots as-well which would cost 10-20. But just for the pizza it’s 1-10$ They make it fast for go which is best for work🗣️. Highly suggest this place!

The sauce on this pizza is awesome. The little seasame seeds on the crust is a nice touch as well. The place is tiny definitely not a place to stay and eat. This review is SOLEY on the way they treat customers which is ROTTEN. The young tall guy with dark hair at the counter is rude beyond rude. He hangs the phone up on you when he feels like closing early. He will give your pizza away WHEN HE WANTS TO CLOSE EARLY and the owner allows this. TWO TIMES he gave a pizza I ordered away and closed. I’m coming here from Woodside because the pizza is very good but the issues with this one guy now have made me refuse to go there again. I was there in ten minutes when HE SAID 20 so why did he give it away, twice? He wants to leave when he feels like it. I do not understand WHY the owner allows this kid to treat people like this. There are similar reviews about this guy. They better watch out for Philomenas which is a 4.8 rating!!!!! And THEY are nice to you! See another recent review about the same issues If they fixed their customer service here it would be a 5 star rating from me.

Brother wanted me try this spot since he's tried it earlier this year. We're out of towners and love all sorts of different NY pizza. Sunnyside packs a hearty amount of toppings and flavor to each of their style pizzas. Ordered a Mushroom slice that is full of earthy and umami goodness, the Buffalo Chicken delivers a spicy punch without overpowering with a ton of chicken, and the Eggplant slice impresses with a unique blend of flavors and textures. The crust was on the softer side for NY style pizza, would've liked it a bit hotter and crispier. Either way will return 🙏🏼

The quality of the pizza has dropped off recent. I've honestly ditched them for the slices at Philomenas or the new kids at Leonardo's Pizza. Much better and tastier.

Walk across the street and get Philomena's for practically the same price and actually enjoy a slice of pizza. There is no flavor whatsoever in the sauce, cheese and crust. I gave it 2 stars because it’s edible. A dollar slice is better than this.

You will crave this pizza every single time you want pizza after you've experienced it. I tried this place out yesterday thanks to my partner who recommended it and as usual he never disappoints. The hype is real for this place. The place itself is small, service is quick and friendly. My service pup was welcomed kindly which I always love. The pizza is already out for you to pick from. The pretzel crust is the best idea ever. The second I bit into my pizza I realized it was the perfect amount of everything. The toppings had a generous amount, even though the pizza Is thin it was filling for me. I 100% recommend this place if you want pizza and you're around.

Ordered the vegetable pizza for a brunch party in my office. It was very generous and absolutely delicious, it was a hit with everyone.

This is a small pick up pizzeria making tasty pizza. The crust is surrounded with seasme seeds which is different than other pizzerias. The pizza is cheesy, a bit oily but very enjoyable. There is about three stocks if you want to sit down and the ambiance is the oven. Service is very friendly. They were laid back and nice. The place is easy to miss but that adds to its character. This place was crowded when I came to order. It's a quick place to order and take out food. This isn't a place where someone takes their time to eat, since theres only a small table for one to eat at. Each slice is a different price, and they have variety, such as Sicilian.l ,cheese, meat, and other toppings. I didn't know what to get, so cheese slice it was. They are known for their seasme crusts. I don't know any other pizza spots with crusts that have seeds all over it. Makes it pretty unique from other slices that I've had in New York. They take card or cash.

Pizza was delicious! Very small restaurant barely any room to turn around. But that's a given, it's NY . The pizza were good price, tasted great. They didn't have a lot of vegetarian options to choose from but I made best with what I had.

I've been living in Sunnyside and coming here for years. Might be biased but I think it's the best pizza in NYC! My relatives from out of town also agreed when I took em here. Staff is incredibly cool and friendly!

Reasonably priced pizza that is very tasty. I personally enjoy the Nonna Sicilian. They serve regular pizza and square Neapolitan. Service is fast and professional. One of my favorite Queens pizzeria.

This pizza is one of a kind. The sesame crust of this pizza is so delicious. I usually I don't eat the crust of any pizza but this one I chow down! They sell individual slices but I mostly get a pie to go. A tiny store with maybe 3 seats so there's really no seating. It is pretty much order and go! Well worth the trek to Sunnyside for this. You won't regret it!

This is the best pizza ever!!! The crust is so tasty and I never eat crusts, it's so soft but not mushy or too soft and the more u chew the better the flavor gets ooooo it's gooodddd and the employees are so nice and friendly and service was super quick! 1000/10 Would 5000% recommend

This pizza never fails to brighten a rainy day. I got the pepperoni as usual and my dad got the margarita, and of course it was made to perfection. The cheese be cheesing, the dough be doughing.

This place is an icon of Sunnyside if you ask me. For one of the best old school New York pizza slices this is where you go. One of the best locations for a pizza place across from 7 train 40th and Lowery stop. Staff is all really friendly and fast. Pizza is consistently incredible quality. Their ingredients are not bottom of the barrel so not a slice that drools oils all over you from cheap cheese. They are perfectly crispy and cheese to sauce ratio is perfect. I frequent here at least once a week. If I had the metabolism to eat more I would!

One of the best pizzas I've tried in queens! They have a pretty big selection and you can do half and half for most pies. A pie is ~$31 normally. I usually opt for the margherita by default and I've tried the chicken parm and bbq chicken slices. I prefer the chicken parm over the bbq, but they're both very hefty in volume. But the main reason why I enjoy the pizza here is cause of the crust. Usually not much of a crust type of gal, but their crust has sesame seed and I feel like this is a game changer.

Right off the 7train. Fast everything is already made. Slices are are delicious my favorites buffalo chicken, eggplant and the regular. It's a small space but you can eat there if you want. Tv in a corner service is great and engaging good place.

This place sucks! I was at here earlier and the pizza man was absolutely disgusting. Takes the pizza from the tray with his dirty fingers tosses it in the oven and does not bother to wear gloves. Totally laziness on his part not to put on gloves and a total disregard for the customers. Give this place a swerve!

I cane here earlier today since I was in the neighborhood and craving pizza. It's a small place with a few seats to sit at, and they have a lot of different slices to choose from. I got a regular and margarita and both weee good, though the regular slice was a bit tastier in my opinion. The staff were nice and I would definitely come back here again!

Been coming here for 5 years. The chicken parm pizza is awesome! I order it every time. Tonight it went from the usual great pie to a perfect pie. The proportion of mozzarella, sauce, ricotta and breaded chicken was just right. 2 slices fills me up and leftovers for the next day or two. The crust is not only tasty but the texture being crunchy (almost buttery, perfectly flaky) on the outside and soft and airy on the inside is hard to match. The icing on top is the toasted sesame seeds on the crust. Tonight we had a perfect pie. Thanks Sunnyside! I usually heat up the slices when I get home at 375 degrees for 6-8 min since I drive 15-20 min to get the pie. Haha

Buffalo chicken slice was Not very tasty. The staff was nice and it was ready fast . One chew and the chicken broke down I'm not a big fan of my chicken being soft you forget you are eating chicken . The blue cheese was good !

One of the better NY slices you're going to get in Sunnyside., especially considering the lack of options in the area. The sesame seeds they put on the crust definitely works and it's perfectly crispy and flavorful. Really no complaints on the food for a slice that costs less than $3. However, beware that they close whenever they want. I've gone a few times 30-45 minutes before closing only to see no prepped pizzas on the shelves and the stools turned upside down on the counter. So if you're planning to go I'd recommend showing up at least an hour before the official closing just in case it's a rainy or slow day and they decided to shut the doors early.

Tiny, old school pizza emporium on Queens Blvd. that churns out excellent slices. I stopped by the other day for 2 slices, and was very happy I did. They have some of the best tasting pizza this side of Gaby's. They have sesame seed dough that has just a hint of spice. Plenty of cheese and sauce makes for a pizza lover's dream. Unfortunately, their prices reflect our inflationary times, but I didn't walk away unhappy. I'll return.

Good old neighborhood pizza to be honest. A good pick up and go spot if you on feet. Place is small only room for two people to sit but the slices dont disappoint. The pizza crust is topped with sesame seeds and that makes it unique from the generic NYC pizza slice. It gives it a nutty taste. Be sure to check out the spot when u in sunnyside u herd!

Top 3 pizza spots in NYC. I'm from Sunnyside so it's very convenient for me. Lots of parking and near the 7 train. The folks working here are great. Super friendly and good service. The pizza is on point. The dough and sesame seed crust is where it's at. The sauce has a nice sweet and tanginess to it. Their sausage rolls are also great but will think twice about ordering a $14 dish next time. Definitely recommend.

I stopped by this place to try out their pizza. In Sunnyside, this seems to one of maybe two pizza joints (by the slice) on/to the north of Queens Blvd that's not a combo type establishment. There's a couple to the south (Lenny's, Giovanni's), but they're a bit far for me to pickup to the point where my pizza would probably get cold heading back to my apartment (unless I eat it there, which kinda defies my main goal of pizza joints....) As I digress, I tried this place out. It's super tiny so expect to just pick up and go. Surprisingly, the cheese slices were not on the main counter (interesting), but I found it ready on the side to the point where the man behind the counter just served me a couple slices hot without having to reheat. After going back to my apartment (about a 5 minute walk or so), the pizza was still hot, which was a good sign. The base of the pizza tasted up to par for me and the sauce had an interesting kick to me. The only thing I did not like was the sesame seed crust. This sounds unpopular, but I wasn't a fan. I like sesame bagels and sesame seeds on its own, but not on pizza crusts. It was just too strange for me, especially writing this a few days after eating the pizza. It sucks because everything else was pretty good and the price is standard for NYC pizza. I just couldn't get myself to enjoy the sesame crusts, so I have to give this place a 3 star review. I know others will like it - if they like sesame crusts - but I'm just not a big fan of it.

All of their pizza is made with sesame seeds. Unfortunately I did not know this since I've never encountered a pizzeria that only sells pizza with seeds and I ordered regular slices. The regular slices were away from view so I could not have seen they had sesame seeds on them. I opened the box to apply my seasonings and realized all of my slices (3 regular) (1 margarita) had sesame seeds on the crust and even on the cheese part. I mentioned I was allergic to sesame seeds and they proceeded to argue with me and make excuses that "sesame seeds part of their recipe". I asked for a refund. The cashier said yes then changed his mind after he realized I paid with a card. Now I'm left with 4 slices of pizza I can't eat and $20 down the drain. Thank you.

When I first moved to Sunnyside a local, who I happened to bump into at the liquor store, pointed across the street at this place and said with the utmost confidence that Sunnyside Pizza was the best slice in the neighborhood. With that kind of glowing recommendation I had to try this joint. It's the best food decision I've made in a long time and I gladly embrace the extra pounds around my waist it has given me. If you want stellar pizza that's absolutely jam-packed with toppings then you need to go to Sunnyside. The people behind the counter are phenomenal, from Jose tossing the dough to Joss taking your order. Even grumpy Michael is a stand-up guy. I've come for a slice and stayed for hours talking and laughing and having an amazing time with these wonderful folks. I don't know if it's the cheapest and honestly I don't care about that sort of thing. Give me quality over cost any day of the week. Not to mention, it's a slice, the difference in price between joints can be counted in quarters, so I don't understand why people get tied in knots over pocket change. If you're in the neighborhood, do yourself the favor of trying their pizza. The Buffalo Chicken is my go-to though the Spinach on White pulls me in when I'm trying to eat "healthier". Yes, imagine air quotes around the word "healthier". This is pizza after all. It's a cramped dining area, but that just means you'll become fast friends with the other regulars enjoying these delicious slices. If that's not your bag, then take one to go or snag some delivery. However you want to acquire their pizza the end result is the same, a very happy belly.

I have been coming here since they opened and the pizza here is always very consistently delicious. If you are looking for a bland, lack luster tasting slice with minimal amount of sauce and cheese this is not the place for you. On the other hand for me there is no other pizzeria in the neighborhood that offers fresh, savory, crunchy pizza with a generous amount of real cheese. The ratio to sauce and cheese is on point. The sesame on the crust adds an additional texture which really makes their pizza stand out from all the other pizzerias in the neighborhood. If you want to add additional toppings beware they do not skimp at all. Their calzone's are amazing and ridiculously large plus they are made to order. The staff to me are are always very friendly. This is not a large place and it can get busy really fast. I like to order my pies ahead of time and pick it up myself. I really don't like to get delivery from any where because I have no patience. I order my food. They tell me how long it will take to get it ready and I go pick it up it's just that simple for me.

I never had pizza like this in my life and I'd like to think that I am a pizza connoisseur, but never had any pizza that tasted like this. First of all, it's a really quaint place and reminds me of the old school pizzerias from my younger days. Crust? Amazing! Sauce? Amazing! Cheese? Amazing! I had my best friend from New Orleans visiting and we decided to get a few slices from here and she talked about it for the last two days. I will definitely be back, but for a whole pie this time!!!

Pizza here is crispy and fresh. I got a plain and Buffalo slice (total $8) They put sesame seeds on their crust which was a welcomed twist. Its a really tiny space meant only for pick up/ delivery (which is apparently free according to their signs) I stopped in on a freezing day for a quick slice. There a is a tiny standing table in the entrance that fits no more than 2 people but if you can make it quick, I'd recommend eating it fresh there!

I found this place when looking for food to bring to Alewife since you can bring outside food there. I love pizza of all sorts and this was perfect! I got two slices of the margherita pizza and it was delicious, with a nice crunch and blister to the crust. The counter guy told me he was charging me slightly less since one of the slices was small. My only gripe was that the counter guy wasn't wearing a mask, but he did put it on when I came in. "Forget it, Jake, it's Sunnyside."

When I want the tastiest pizza in the Sunnyside area, that's where I go. It's a take out place with only 2-3 seats. So don't expect a seat. Just expect great pizza and friendly service.

I have been going to Sunnyside Pizza for more than 10 years and I'm sorry to say I won't be going back there. The quality has declined a bit but the biggest problem is the staff. The owner isn't there very much anymore and his workers don't care about good service. In particular there is a young guy that works there who is rude and unsanitary. I've seen him without a mask multiple times, talking over the food, going on and on. I've seen him use the same hand for food and money. He literally put my pizza on the countertop where a pizza box was just sitting. When my bf raised this as an issue, he rolled his eyes. This is not the first time. The final straw was today when I realized I've been saying "we can't go back there," every time we've been there since the start of the pandemic.

Been here 3x now and I have to say the pizza is pretty tasty and good. The sesame pizza crust I realize some folks here think is blasphemy but I like it. The variety is great and I like that they put real blue chz on the buffalo slice. My favorite so far has been the meatball slice (one huge meatball sliced up, with the sauce. Really good if u happen to catch it when it just comes out. Seating is limited and on a 100deg day like today, take it to go as it's super hot inside. ( there's chairs across under the El where u can eat) Good place to grab a slice while your biking.

I have tried almost all the pizzeria in sunnyside neighborhood. My first time trying the sunnyside pizza and I was glad making the trip here to order some pies. Their pizza isn't cheap but worth the price you're paying for. I ordered the spinach pizza which I believe it was $24 also order the buffalo chicken pizza with blue cheese crumble which was $30 something. They are not stingy with the toppings like other places. Their spinach pizza & buffalo chicken looks delicious, worth the price & worth the picture. I was going through their menu in the morning I wanted to try either bbq chicken or buffalo chicken so just went with buffalo chicken. Next time I will try their bbq chicken it looks amazing on Yelp pictures. The lady I spoked with on the phone was very nice which is a big plus. Overall sunnyside pizza will be on my number 1 list for pizzas. There are few seats with a stand. It's pretty a small store so it's mostly like a take out place. An update after I tried to the pizza. I had to lower 1 star it's because it was way too salty and heavy for me to even eat one slice of pizza. Trying to make customer happy but overwhelming on the pizza is JUST TOO MUCH.

Got pizza here for the first time after hearing from a local that it was the best pizza in the area and they were right! Native NYer so I know good pizza. Ordered the spinach ricotta pizza and enjoyed every bite. Can't wait to go back and will suggest this to others who live nearby or visitors. Will try to go again before I leave town and will return every time I visit. Heard it gets busy during lunch hour on weekdays. Friendly owner/staff.

I was in the area and checked Yelp for a place to eat lunch. I saw the high ratings for this pizza spot and decided to check it out. There was a small line at this tiny, hole in the wall spot. This place is primarily a take out spot but I did see one table with 2 chairs in the corner. I was excited about ordering my slice because the different toppings all looked very good. The slices looked big and fulfilling and they were. I finally decided on the chicken parmesan slice which was delicious. I also enjoyed the touch of sesame seeds in the crust. The prices were fair and reasonable. I saw that their rolls were popular and I will definitely check this place out again to try some other menu items.

I make no secret of the fact that I adore Queens. Or given the subject at hand, perhaps 'adough' is a more suitable word pick? At an rate, that said, it has never been my borough of choice for pizza. With so many other far more enticing and unique sounding options to pursue, it's just not something that called out to me. Besides, I have easy access to world class pizza here in BK. But recently, I figured I'd try to be open minded and wound up giving this spot a whirl: Garlic Bread Slice: I was most excited to try this one since we are a family of vampire repelling garlic fiends. I liked that it was drizzled with a bit of tomato sauce before serving, which helped break up the richness. And it definitely wasn't lacking in garlicky flavor. But there was so much cheese that I think it overwhelmed everything, including the crust, which seemed almost weighted down by its heft. Sicilian Slice: I was hoping for a light, airy crust, but this was a little on the dense side for me. Hubby got a corner slice and liked the crust way better than yours truly, so maybe that's the way to go. Grandma Slice: This crust had all the airy lightness that was lacking in the Sicilian. I really dug it, but found the topping to be kind of forgettable. Like others, am into this spot's sesame seeded crust, which reminded me of the fried eggplant slice from BK's La Sorrentina that I had a thing for years ago. As for the service, imho, it was typical, jokey salt of the earth NYC at its finest. No complaints from me. Admittedly, it probably didn't hurt when hubby exclaimed, "Go Mets!" as we left. (Ty to Helen K. for mentioning this is a no Yankees zone, which fwiw, is always a selling point for my Mets loving family). Here in BK, my current go-to slice joint is Luigi's in the South Slope. While I'm not an unequivocal fan, I um... adough their Grandma Pie, which boasts a really robust, full-flavored tomato-forward topping drizzled with EVOO. It's especially delicious adorned with Broccoli Raab. Nothing I tried here came close. Bottom line: If I were a neighborhood local, am sure I'd be happy to have this as part of my regular slice rotation. But I'm not and imho, it's just not destination worthy.:(

Awesome spot. Its definitely where the locals go. Small, quaint, hole in the wall pizza place. No seating area but great for takeout. The pizza is unique in that its made with sesame seeds on the bottom. It surprisingly gives a great crisp to the crust and gives a unique bite to each slice.

Ignore the people who say this isn't good pizza. I'm born and raised in NY and this place right here is FANTASTIC! Everything has delicious flavor, I mean really really delicious! You won't be disappointed!

I love their buffalo wings pizza. My dog loves too. Their pizza has a loot of stuff on a slice. You get full from just two slices.

Not one of the best pizza in Sunnyside. I had a cheese pizza delivered today and it came pretty fast that's why I gave it one extra star. The pizza was very salty and there was no tomato flavor. It came with sprinkle of oregano on top and tons of sesame seeds on the crust. It wasn't a regular NY pizza after all.

The pizza here is sooo good. I have no idea what they do to make the bread/crust sooooo good. Its their magic sauce that no other pizza shop seems to have. I used to come here religiously, but had to control myself when the cravings started to call. Cheese and carbs can be a deadly combination after all. Additionally, the staff in here are so friendly. I loved sitting in their little shop to eat the pizza and look out the window and watch the 7 train passing by. It always has such a nice vibe and atmosphere to it. Yes, on occasion you'll see fashion victims when looking out the window, and sketchy people working the streets for $$, but it is what it is. The young working professionals in the area really make Sunnyside special. Please check this place out and support them. I would come in everyday, but this location is no longer close to where i am. However, i do my best to stop by when i can. Definitely support this place. I hope they make it out of the pandemic with no scratches.

What a nice surprise. From the outside, this looks like the typical local pizzeria that doesn't exist anymore. This place is TINY... ONE seat inside and a small counter. But the pizza is great. I had a mushroom and a white slice. I wish i could have tried the plain one. Oh well next time. I just want to know how they fit four workers in there!

Only tried one slice as I was walking by and saw people waiting. I had a the spinach and mozzarella and ricotta slice. One of the best spinach slices I ever had. Loaded with spinach. Delicious! Great flavor and crust. Hope to go back!!!
