The Best Budget-Friendly, Affordable Restaurants in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"At Koreatown’s Okinawan onigiri spot, it doesn’t get any better than biting into Spam, egg, and kimchi sandwiched between rice and seaweed. Supamu’s additional fillings include fried soft-shell crab, hash browns, curry croquette, and more. Everything on the menu is under $15." - Eater Staff

Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week: April 1 - Eater LA

"The closure of Michin Dak left a hole in the Koreatown dining scene on the corner of 6th Street and Catalina. Gone was the inexpensive lunch and dinner spot with its bountiful fried chicken. While Supamu isn’t a revival of Michin Dak, it’s just as good (and reasonably priced). The menu is expansive, offering Okinawan onigiri with toppings like a hash brown, curry croquette, spicy tuna, and a whole fried crab. The spam-and-eggs rendition, called the K-pop, made the biggest impression on me. On top of its spam and egg base, kimchi and corn are added. It’s everything you could want out of an onigiri — salty nori, well-cooked rice, and a rich filling that keeps you coming back for more." - Eater Staff

While on vacation in L.A., we stumbled upon this amazing place. We arrived right on time at 9:00 pm and were greeted with a warm welcome. The food was absolutely delicious! The portions were generous, and everything tasted incredible. If you’re a fan of spam, you absolutely must try this place. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

No wait at 2:30pm on a Friday; I’ve had this spot on my list for awhile and am so happy I made the stop. There is a parking lot but I doubt there is ever a spot open in it - I found easy street parking. I ordered the Unagi and loved that they don’t charge an outrageous price to include avocado. Only a handful of tables outside so eat fast and get on the move! The 2 people working were super sweet.

Google
This place needs way more hype! We ordered the shrimp tempura, curry croquette, and spicy tuna! It was so hard to decide which one was our favorite because they were all so good and each bite was perfect. The owner was so sweet and attentive with serving the food to us by and hand and giving us water without us even asking. Amazing food, amazing ambiance, amazing service I will definitely come back for more! I hope you open up more locations!

Google
They were so kind enough to take our order before they were even open. We ordered the the classic, shrimp tempura and the gyoza. First timers and we were super impressed, it would make you want more ! Can’t wait to come back again.

Google
Coworker brought me here for lunch! One of the best lunch recommendations to date! I've only had masubi in Hawaii (tiny flex or sad realization?) 🤣 😫 I had the original, the hawaiin, and the beef bolgogi. Hard to say which one was the best they were all so good. My favorite had to be the original. It was just classic! They are reasonably priced, in my opinion. I would suggest ordering 2, at least! Oh! There are tables you can sit at!

Angel Rincon

Google
Oh man the food was so good. The owner definitely could tell it was out first times and he was so accommodating to us. He stuck his torso right out the window and described a bunch of the menu to us. What a nice guy! We got 3 separate onigiris and then later at night we actually came back! So many different options mean there’s something for every taste bud. You don’t want to skip this in LA. Outside stools and barrels acting as tables give it a fun industrial feel with comfort. Great times.

Google
Delicious place to stop by for a quick snack. But don't let the word snack fool you because the size of these onigiri is no joke. We got the kakiage, curry croquette and the sukiyaki beef. Kakiage is definitely our favorite. The seaweed is fresh, the rice is el dente and the kakiage is so crunchy without being oily. We'll be back!

Yiyi C.

Google
food is take-out only, but plenty of seats if you choose eat it over there. dog friendly obviously since it’s an outdoor space. overall very happy discovery, we will return, good that the spam was thinner so the savory was on point. only thing I personally hope is that maybe reduce 15% of rice, so that eating 2 pieces could be the perfect portion.

Yelp
Highly recommend eating here!!! The food is delicious and the Aloha customer service is wonderful! Nehedeburu! Oishikata desu yo! Sukiyaki supamu onigiri and gyoza! Supa Ono!

Yelp
My friend Hann brought these over to our men's group and had the eel, soft shell crab and kakiage. All these absolutely HIT! So far the soft shell crab is my favorite but still have yet to try all the other selections. I love how hearty and filling these are! True gem in ktown!

Yelp
This spot is the best for a quick bite. Quality, taste, selection is fire. Never disappointed, always satisfied. My go to 1. Soft shell Crab 2. Unagi 3. Shrimp Tempura 4. Kakiage

Yelp
(Tookout 07/18/24 TH @ 5:00pm): Supa excited about these Okinawan onigiris filled with Spam! Thanks to an earlier Yelp Elite event that introduced me to Supamu Okinawa Onigiri, I decided to stop as I was driving home. Self-proclaimed as "SoCal's First Okinawan-Style Onigiri" (I didn't bother to research whether or not this was true), I enjoyed my first time here and their Spam-focused menu. I mean... I grew up on Spam, and although I didn't eat it as often anymore, I always loved a Spam musubi or two especially whenever I visited Hawaii. Would my second visit to this onigiri Spam shack with Okinawan influences be another hit!? PURCHASE Veggie Gyoza 5pc ($5.50): With your choice of pork or veggie, these deep-fried dumplings topped with spicy mayo and teriyaki sauce, were a bit small but thankfully were flavorfully-packed with fresh ingredients and a poof of steam when I bit into them. This was an impulse buy, and although they were yummy, these weren't the main attraction for why you came here. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=UJIfQhfw3Ne6j9icHduipA Hawaiian Supamu Musubi ($6.95): Made with a grilled pineapple, egg, and Spam with teriyaki sauce, this was like an Okinawa's version of White Castle's slider. Thinner than I liked, it surprisingly still filled you up just enough. The fresh pineapple slice was juicy and messy, the egg was kind of meh, the Spam was always wonderful (just wished it was a bigger slice), and the rice and seaweed wrap held everything together although the teriyaki sauce tried to soggy things up. This was a joy to eat! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=iDEmCu2rmbLvHxw3otV76g Spicy Mentaiko Shisho Supamu Musubi ($7.95): Crafted with spicy mentaiko caviar, shisho leaf, egg, and Spam, as interesting and unique as this sounded, it sort of fell flat for me. It simply lacked much flavor while the saltiness from the Spam was the main tastebud tickler. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=7DvnZ0uyTGBKBajB75tsTA SERVICE I was greeted by a kind young woman behind the counter who quickly took my order (I already knew what I wanted to try). About ten minutes later, my food was packed and ready to roll! I loved the ease and straightforwardness of the service; also, it was a long day, so I really just wanted to get home and eat. All was good - arigato! PARKING (FREE) "Koreatown" - 'nuff said. Located in a small shared parking lot with an attendee, I was lucky and found a spot. Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of street parking along the main drag of 6th St. and all surrounding streets. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A primary takeout counter at the corner of 6th St. and Catalina St., the menu was explicitly posted on a window https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=6mti9uV39N2w2US5Hii3EQ for easy viewing, they had an outdoor patio to enjoy your meal and nothing else. There was a colorful mural https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=RtnP73BYzYUA652BWYnyNA I admired while I wanted for my order. Plenty of natural lighting while soul-sucking fluorescent lights filled in the rest once the sun went down. There weren't any TVs or background music unless you counted the sounds of the street traffic. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=t2WJ5s4mujHAX7qvZyuw9A ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL My second visit to Supamu Okinawa Onigiri was a successful one, and I would like to return to further explore their creative menu of different ways to enjoy Spam. Honestly, this was the only Spam-focused eatery I could think of, which brought a smile to my face. However, I wasn't certain how this niche model would hold long-term. As I generally liked everything I tried, the prices might be a tad prohibitive, and the parking situation in Koreatown was always a circus. The service was efficient and friendly. And, I loved to support local small businesses whenever possible. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL would-be paid experience was around $22.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

Yelp
Check it out, my Yelp peeps!! SUPAMU Okinawa Onigiri is a hot new spot in L.A.'s Koreatown and it SLAPS HARD!! If you aren't familiar with onigiri, it's exactly what you see in the pics... nori filled with rice, egg, and some kind of meat. They traditionally come in a triangular shape, but SUPAMU is out here putting their own twist on this Japanese/Hawaiian classic, and we weren't mad about it! We didn't know about this place and only discovered it on our way to Oakobing. You can't miss it because it's on the corner of W. 6th & W. Catalina. They only have outdoor dining, but there's quite a few seats and tables. The prices are not super expensive, although I do feel that some items could be priced lower. My friends got the Sukiyaki Beef & The Classic. They loved them, and one of them went back to get one more for the road. That Sukiyaki looked and smelled insane!! I'm a sucker for beef, so I was all in when I saw it. My other friend who got the Classic was satisfied but was jelly for being "basic," lol! But hey, you can't go wrong with a classic! Service was phenomenal! Jack was nearing the end of his shift, as they close at 10 on weekends. We were there around 9:30 on a Saturday night and he was chopping it up with us like we were old buddies. We asked a lot of questions and he was happy to oblige as he answered everything. They're pretty new, and have only been open for about 6 months. I asked if they have an IG account for Insta posting purposes, but he said they should have one up and running soon, so keep an eye out! Aaaaand I literally just checked and they DO have one! LoL It's @supamuktown You're welcome! =) This place most definitely earns more than 5 stars in our book! The only suggestion I have is to add furikake to the rice, or maybe have it on the side if people want to spruce up their onigiri. I love furikake and it makes the rice taste even better! Other than that, good luck with parking because it's Koreatown. There is limited street parking, but there is also a public parking garage around the corner, on W. Catalina. It was a flat rate of $20 plus tax (freakin' L.A.)!!! This is one place my friends and I won't soon forget!

Yelp
1. This onigiri was flavorful and easy to eat! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes! 3. There are only outdoor seatings available! 4. The staff were extremely friendly and quick with my order! 5. Parking lot is small, and a valet is available! Note: I did not see a customer restroom available! Photo: Oolong Tea and K-Pop Onigiri

Yelp
We went here after eating Tofu soup across the street. The food is soo delicious. It's a sandwich with spam in it plus other stuff. We tried the Classic, it is good and price is reasonable. I can have this for breakfast or lunch or dinner for a quick bite. Parking will in the Plaza behind it , it is Valet for $3 , if you can find street parking then it is better.

Yelp
Food 4/5: good spam musubi but not as good as the ones from Torrance. Also took some time to get my orders but it's understandable because of the pop-up store nature. Service 4/5 for slowness Ambiance - pop up setup

Yelp
I have a new favorite spot to hit when in LA. I've had a lot of onigiri, but this was my first time trying Okinawa style onigiri, which clearly is a different beast than your average nori-wrapped rice ball. We ordered three different kinds and enjoyed all three: Classic, Curry Croquette and K-pop. These onigiri are FILLING, the two of us didn't need three of them, but we did finish them all! I'd say the winner for me was the Curry Croquette, but all of them were absolutely delicious. If you're looking for a light snack tuna mayo, this ain't your place, but if you've got an appetite for more, and you like spam, you've found the spot!

Yelp
The spam sandwiches here are pretty good! I liked the curry croquette spam sandwich the best. The crunch texture of the croquette and cabbage and the mixture of the tartar and tonkatsu sauce was yummy. The spam was also fried perfectly. I also got the sukiyaki beef and it was fine, I wish the beef was more flavorful and saucy. I also got the melon cream soda and that was a nice combo with the spam sandwiches, but I wish it was cheaper since it was just a bottled drink rather than house made melon cream soda. The owner of this establishment was really nice. He explained the menu to me and my friend and we had nice conversation with him. This establishment only has outdoor seating, but it's nice vibes! You feel like you're eating street food in an Asian country. Overall, this spot is pretty cheap and can also be a convenient snack if you're hanging around Ktown.

Yelp
I came in here today, around 11 a.m. In front of the store, you will see a big menu; you will not miss it, and it has pictures. The staff was nice and very attentive. I got the classic, sukiyaki, soft shell crab, and takoyaki. The wait time for the food is not long. It seems like they make the food on the spot, which is good.  When I got my food, it was warm and heavy. Me and my son ate everything. ALL of them were good; the soft shell crab is a must try; we love the crunch and flavor of the crab; it goes well with the spam and egg. The egg is not just a regular egg; it has a different taste that you will not get tired of eating. Overall, the food was delicious, with a variety of options to choose from.

Yelp
In the last few years, I have seen this location go through multiple businesses, and currently, it is Supamu. Coming from Hawaii, onigiri, or musubi, is nostalgic and yet one of my favorites to eat when I am feeling lazy or just need something to snack on.   So a couple weeks ago, I was feeling exactly as I described above, so I decided to try on my way back home with my boyfriend.   We ordered three: Classic, Shrimp Tempura with Spicy Mayo, and Spicy Mentaiko Shiso. They were all pretty decent, and the portions were pretty generous. I could not eat more than one. I have to say my favorite was the classic Supamu. It was well balanced, and it was not salty. I forget which one had the sauce, but that sauce was not overpowering. I prefer Mentaiko with Shiso over Shrimp Tempura just because it was easier for me to eat, and I love Mentaiko with rice in general, but that fried shrimp was decent quality.   Food came out pretty fast after ordering in its stamped parchment paper bags and did not leak through. There are so many varieties to choose from, and it is a great place for quick grabs or snacking.

Yelp
I tried their curry croquette spam supamu, it was fine. The service was good, they have many varieties of spam sandwiches.

Yelp
The food was tasty and really hit the spot! Staff was friendly, accommodating and had truly great vibes! The outdoor space was ideal to enjoy the weather and settle into this new dining experience as this was my first time at the restaurant as well as trying this style of food. A must try and already planning on returning.

Yelp
Amazing spam musubi varieties! very savory and even sweet ! (the big breakfast with maple spam) was top tier! customer service was great and the wait for the food was not long! would definitely recommend and come back again! the owner was very friendly, this is definitely a great business ! glad it's in LA!

Yelp
UPDATE: I went back to get the Curry Croquette and it is mouthwateringly delicious. Get the Curry Croquette! ---- It was a super simple and easy process - check in, order my vegetarian options, and take a seat, wait for name to be called. I had the Kakiage Vegetable Tempura and Classic (replaced spam with tofu). Both were really delicious. Honestly, my thing with tempura is it's often over-fried and so there's more breading than actual vegetable. This was not the case here - they did a great job balancing the two. It was just the right amount of fried and the taste was on point. One small thing I noticed is that the rice was a little all over the place as I ate. It's not the cleanest but the parchment paper helped contain the mess. Overall, great experience - highly recommend everyone checking this one out! As an onigiri lover, I love that Okinawa style has made it to LA, thanks to this spot! Lastly, shout out to Eric who even offered a free mobile insert fan since it's a hot day. Unfortunately, it was non-USB C so I couldn't use it but the thought was so generous.

Yelp
Life can be such a tragicomedy sometimes. Supamu's been a short 15-minute jog from my Westlake office for some time and it was only a month before relocating that I found out they existed. So I went multiple days in a row. I'm a fan of Rice and Nori in Little Tokyo and was looking to expand my "little treat" portfolio. Two onigiri items are enough for one lunch. The spam is just very comforting. I typically missed the bus by mere seconds to get here, so I just had to run without stopping from MacArthur Park. This is one of the few places where I can fit lunch and a run into a single lunch hour. The orders come out within minutes. My favorites are the spicy mentaiko shiso and the spicy tuna with avocado. As for the rest, it's like choosing your favorite organ. They're all crucial for a life worth living. I highly recommend Supamu for the convenient location, open seating, and warmth and hospitality from all the business associates I've encountered. I also love that they're open late! It's almost like nature is healing and we're going back to pre-pandemic hours... Anyway basically I am a total spamhead now. Thank you, Supamu folks. I hope you stick around for a long time!
google avatar

Ingrid L.

Yelp
I was just passing by and thought an onigiri sounded delicious! I got the spicy mentaiko shisho onigiri. I love mentaiko and how salty it is. I thought the addition of the shisho was delicious. The spam was perfectly fried so you got little crunchy bits. I will be back!
google avatar

Ed C.

Yelp
Delicious! First off, Okinawa onigiri is the best in my opinion: so simple, so fresh, and the taco fold just makes it so much tastier and fun to eat. The ingredients at SUPAMU are top notch and the owner, Young, makes each onigiri with care and love. The owner studied the balance of flavors in onigiri in Okinawa, and it really shows. The ingredients and flavors are so balanced, filled with umami - just perfect. Come here, you won't regret it if you're an onigiri lover. Parking on weekends is valet only, but you can find free street parking on Sundays. Outdoor covered seating only - enjoy the city view as you eat your onigiri. Will be coming back!

Yelp
I found this place with luck on Yelp. It was Mother's Day weekend/my birthday weekend and we stopped by on Saturday for a late lunch/early dinner. The place is a small little shack on the corner of 6th St. You walk up and the tables are outside and you order at the window. This was our first time visiting and if I lived in the area, I would visit this spot frequently. It's not hard to make musubi and you can probably make it yourself, but this spot is totally worth it. I love supporting local/small businesses. I think it's important for these kind of places for the community. These are real people trying to make it work. Let's help this place thrive guys!!!! Because I want to come back! Anyway, we visited the day before my birthday because I knew that Mother's Day was going to be busy in this area. The parking is a little weird, you have to drive around and find parking near the residential area. Even though the seating was outside it was not messy. People pick up after themselves and it was clean. Their restroom wasn't bad either. This place just opened up a few months ago and from my understanding they used to be a food truck. If you haven't visited them yet, you should definitely try it out!

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place since it opened, so finally we did. Ordered: Classic All American K-POP Sukiyaki Beef When we got home, orders were mixed up. Messaged the owner through yelp and they responded and resolved the issue relatively quickly. Amazing customer service! All orders were delish! Will definitely come back... highly recommended! *Didn't have the chance to take pic on all orders*

Yelp
New fan over here! I previously discovered Supamu when I was walking around Koreatown with family and made sure to bookmark this spot for next time. This past weekend I raved about this place to my friends and ended up going twice in a day! I LOVE SPAM. Ordered the curry croquette, classic, and kakiage and definitely enjoyed it all. Later that day, my boyfriend and I shared the kimchi and it was just as delicious as the others. Service was quick and the place was never too busy at 11:30am or 8:00pm.
google avatar

Yelp
Where has this been? Who doesn't love spam musubi, and who doesn't want a beefed up spam musibi? I say, make the effort to find parking in k-town and try Supamu! I really like outdoor seating because you can people watch as you casually gobble up the musubis. The owner is super friendly, and it shows that this is a passion for him. As for the musubis, there are so many to choose from. I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you pick. I really appreciate that it's not overly ricey. Just enough rice, and you can taste all the flavors. The curry croquette is really hot. Don't be like me, and burn your mouth like I did.

Yelp
I've been wanting to bring my dad to this place ever since I saw it on IG! It lived up to the expectation for sure! The Onigiri's are delicious! There's just the right amount of rice. Spam & egg in each one! Dad love the unagi, he said the avocado made it even better. I loved the crunch of the spam in the Original. The Shrimp Tempura was crispy and the spicy mayo really gave it a mild spice, but enhanced the flavor. The Soft Shell crab, delicious. The crab was a perfect compliment with the spam & egg. The service was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in LA!

Yelp
Look the food is good but lord have mercy who ever is in charge of AUX rn please get off. That's the only reason I'm giving it 3 star. They're playing TV show intro theme songs and it's the most annoying thing ever and I cannot enjoy my meal

Yelp
My bf and I LOVED their food truck when they were at the Granada Hills Food Truck Row. Super, super delicious and one of a kind. If you like onigiri or spam musubi, you'll absolutely love this place. We literally drove from the valley to visit their new spot! It's been years since we've had them, like 2021? It was so nice seeing their new spot and meeting Michael who was incredibly sweet and welcoming. He hooked us up with a Classic and Sukiyaki! We loved the curry croquette supamu, delicious sauces up gyoza, and honestly, can't beat the classic. I ended up ordering two more classics for the road! I subbed it for a Maple Spam which was definitely a game changer. The sweet and savory combo is like no other. Definitely eat it fresh if you plan on dropping by! There are bar stool type seating and lots of shade. We parked on the street across since the lot they are in is valet only I believe. Lots of metered street parking though! Congrats again on your new home and looking forward to coming back! IG: @ammysalamii

Yelp
Note: Dined in on 4/27/24. Took over the space that was formerly occupied by Michin Dak, on the corner of 6th and Catalina. So no indoor seating, but it's kinda covered at least. Okinawan-style onigiri usually contains spam and tamago (egg), and isn't rolled into a ball like other types of onigiri. It's more akin to a sandwich or if you hold it a certain way, a taco! Supamu started off a truck, and I'm glad that they were given this opportunity to have a more permanent space. For this first visit, I tried two onigiri: Mentaiko shiso - Great balance of flavors on this one. I am a fiend for mentaiko, and they certainly don't skimp on it here. I sometimes worry about shiso being too overpowering, but that isn't the case here. There's not too much rice, and the rice itself is cooked reasonably. The nori (seaweed) tears apart with a solid bite, so you don't have the awkward feeling of trying to rip off someone's head while eating. The tamago isn't overly sweet, the spam has a slight crispiness to it (but I prefer it crispier, for bigger difference in texture). This ended up being the better one out of the two I tried. Soft shell crab - Unfortunately, the crab I got did not look nearly as good as the menu photo. That's fine, as long as it tastes good, right? It's good, but it seemed a little small and it wasn't served particularly hot. As a result, it wasn't quite as crispy as I would've liked. I might give it another shot, but it's also one of the most expensive options there since it's crab. Overall, I'd definitely give this place another try! It's easy to make a pitstop and get a couple if you're in the area. It did take a bit of time for them to make the food, so be wary of that if you're in a hurry.

Yelp
Such a cute and yummy spot for lunch! We got the sukiyaki beef, curry coquette and the classic. All of them were so delicious and my favorite was the sukiyaki beef. I am definitely coming back to try the other items on the menu!

Yelp
Happened to walk by and decided to try this new spot. You order at the window and they hand you your order when it's ready. The cashier was super friendly and my order was made fresh in just a few minutes. The spicy mentaiko shiso onigiri was delicious! The mentaiko added a nice spice and the shiso added a floral hit that balanced out the saltiness of the spam. Normally onigiri has too much rice, but not here. The ingredients were perfectly proportioned. As much as I enjoyed it, I think the portion size is too small for the price. At ~$8 each, it's ok for a snack, but would add up quickly for a meal. I'd aim for at least 2-3 for a lunch. Would love to see a combo set in the future- maybe offering a discount for buying multiples.

Yelp
I asked the servant at the counter, and bought the curry one under recommendation, but to be honest, I'm a little disappointed. It's just ok.

Yelp
I was in the area and needed a quick bite and came across this place. They are creative with all the different combinations. I decided to try the unagi and it was delicious! The price point was reasonable as well. The unagi had egg, spam, avocado, and eel. Will definitely be back to try different ones next time.

Yelp
my experience here was so memorable !! customer service 11/10 !! makes the food even bettr !! ordered the beef sukiyaki, curry croquette, and classic spam musubis -- my order was delayed so the owner gave me an extra beef sukiyaki c: i was so touched, especially since he had already given us complimentary iced milk tea for the drive; so sweet! it's so simple but tastes so good. flavorful! my favorite had to be the beef sukiyaki for the sweetness of the sauce and savory flavors of the spam. AND I LOV SEAWEED. who could get rice and seaweed wrong? would come back again for sure! surrounded by so many great establishments too. thanks so much ! definitely recommend !!!

Yelp
Wow! This spot totally takes onigiri to the next level! I've never had it Okinawa style--it's a total revelation! The menu features a bewildering number of unique creations ranging from the standard spam style to ones featuring soft shell crab and other special ingredients. There's also great sides like gyoza and takoyaki. This is definitely in my regular ktown rotation.

Yelp
This is a small booth in Ktown! We had to wait longer than I expected for the food to come out, and while the portion size was quite big for the price, I personally didn't love the taste of it, and I don't think I'd particularly crave it. I got the original so maybe other flavors are more memorable!

Yelp
YUM!!!!! This is a great spot for a quick bite. Service was wonderful and the man helping us knew plenty about the menu. You can tell he's passionate about the food served here! I had the Takoyaki which I'd get again. Honestly, I was torn between this and the Hawaiian but i'll have to try the Hawaiian too next time. This is a walk up service restaurant but there's plenty of seating outside and they're more than happy to offer ice water. There's also a parking lot behind the restaurant but if there no spots available, there is metered parking on the side. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
Definition of hole in the wall!!!!! This place was perfect for a quick bite, something not too heavy but still filling. We got the Hawaiian spam onigiri and the chicken katsu and wow did these blow us away. the katsu was perfectly fried with the katsu sauce on top that sealed the deal. The tamago inside was perfect, heavenly almost. As for the hawaiian that one had pineapple which it was a bit on the sweeter side but hey, it balanced out perfectly. Man i still think about this place. Not an LA local so this place is sadly out of reach ;( but whenever I visit LA again i'll definitely come to this gem again. :)

Yelp
Billed as Okinawa-style...and how unique and stylish it is. Delicious...salty spam and a variety of other additions to it...you may need two if you're really hungry!

Yelp
Cute little shack in ktown. The parking lot was valet when I went on a Friday early evening. However, the attendant said that if we were just getting takeout, then we did not have to pay, which was awesome. The worker was super helpful in explaining which ones were popular and which ones were his favorite. Personally, I liked the classic, unagi and curry croquette. However, all of them were so delicious. We got a whole bunch of different options and brought them to a nearby park to have a picnic. They also have an outdoor area which you can use as well.

Yelp
Tried this place on a whim and surprised by how good it was! The owner is super nice and the food is made fresh to order. I had the bulgogi and the soft shell crab and they were both amazing. The onigiri was well seasoned and very tasty. It's a perfect snack to grab and go. If you're having it for lunch, I would def recommended getting a few. It is a little expensive but def worth a try

Yelp
Great snack! How can you go wrong with rice, eggs, and spam!? Add a few delicious extras like beef, kimchi, or soft-shell crab? Excellent. I had the sukiyaki and the big supamu, and as I finished the sukiyaki, I thought "people need to know how good this place is!" So here you are: This place is good. Come try it!

Yelp
Corner shack inside a plaza on Catalina and 6th with a parking lot. I got the original and Hawaiian and they were both delicious! The size is decent for a snack and perfect for lunch if you get at least two. I was able to order right away and waited just couple minutes to get my food. I wish there was more seasoning/sauce inside to be more flavorful but it's nonetheless pretty tasty. Especially when you are craving spam musubi, this is the spot. I will be back to try the curry croquettes one.

Yelp
Amazing. Must have if you're in the area. Will definitely be back! Only downside is lack of parking but this place is worth paying for valet :)
