"When: Weekdays, 5-8pm The Deal: $1 oysters Super Power in Crown Heights is best in the summer, mostly because it’s tiki-themed, with palm trees and fish bowl cocktails that come with umbrellas. Their selection of oysters ranges from Washington state to New York and Rhode Island. You won’t be able to pick the kind you get during Happy Hour (it’s dealer’s choice), but there are worse things in life than drinking discount rum and eating good, affordable seafood." - hannah albertine

"If you thought the ecosystem of Nostrand Ave could only house one tiki bar (King Tai is technically tiki), you were wrong. Super Power is as tiki as they come. Stop by and get a drink with an umbrella in it. On weekends, it’s full of young people sipping drinks with umbrellas in them. The vibe is dark-hipster-beach-party, and there’s a pinball machine in the back. You can bet it will be taken." - bryan kim

"At this Tiki bar in Crown Heights, there are lots of rum-based cocktails to choose from, some served inside coconuts for even more flair and many garnished with bright straws twisted into shapes, in addition to paper umbrellas and a smattering of fruit. Drinks include a Galangal daiquiri, a riff on the old-fashioned called the Super Fashioned, and frozen Painkillers, packed with rum and coconut. There’s a nice outdoor space, too, with mod blue chairs and some greenery." - Alexandra Ilyashov, Carla Vianna

Google
I love the vibe at Superpower, the whole place feels so fun and light hearted. The drinks are almost too good, the one I had was huge (hand for scale) and came with all sorts of over the top embellishment. Great place to meet up with friends and have a drink(s). When seasonally appropriate, their patio area in the back is also really nice.

Google
Bartender Kyle is Awesome and makes great drinks! The nachos were good, and the oysters were fresh. I will be back.

Google
Walked upon this random Tiki/tropical style bar in Brooklyn. What a surprise! These cocktails were well balanced. Love the minimalist decor offered by the bar. The menu itself is beautiful. Grab the house Mai Tai. Trust me. I can't wait to go back.

Google
Exciting and inviting ambience. There's a road side space and a backyard space also. Backyard is beautifully decorated. Drinks good! Service good. Will return.

My name is Catherine and I’m a 3rd grade teacher in Brooklyn and mama to my five-year-old son Alester Otis. My husband Ken just finished his last chemotherapy treatment two days ago, and he has been in unimaginable pain on and off for months. The atmosphere, the food and most importantly, the service made him feel so relaxed and taken care of. The drink I attached a picture of was great for sharing and so good!

Google
A very nice place to meet friends and have a good time. Nice selection of cocktail well presented , nicely decorated tropical, and a drinks are strong and great as well as the staff there. The foods is rich in choice, has plenty to choose from. Especially, I recommend hot dogs are really delicious. Definitely I will come back here .

Lee Gregory

Google
Super cute place. The frozen drinks I had was pretty amazing. Definitely had me feeling good. Not much options for food. But the hot Dog was very tasty and creative. Absolutely a place for good vibes. Indoor and outdoor seating out back is available.

Google
pretty solid local spot that has a dive vibe but it's way cleaner and the clientele isn't trashy folk that like PBR. neon lights all over makes for a great ambiance. the painkiller was a tasty frozen drink, beer is also well poured and has a hood selection. i really enjoyed the nachos at the price point, usually dont like nacho cheese sauce but the components are well layers and the chips stay crunchy.

Yelp
Super fashioned is always my go to drink when hanging out with my friends. For sure it is a great hidden gem on weekdays at night. I recommend getting some tacos up the block after those drinks. Great combo. Ambiance is always relaxing.

Yelp
Fun tiki style rum bar in crown heights. This place always has patrons but is never too loud, which is a great option for those looking for a low key night on Nostrand. We got the nachos and the kimchi dog, and we didn't like the taste or presentation of either. However, we got some drinks and split a Fishbowl-- those were great. The bartenders are quick and nice.

Ginette P.

Yelp
In the area & my friend mentioned this place for drinks, we stopped by & were seated right away. Once seated drinks we went with the Pain killer, I liked it good taste fun looking cup not bad, decent amount of alcohol but It was too creamy for others, dairy issues. 2 later switched to a Mezcal Mai thai & Beer , both good. Nice little place, cool vibe good music , service was good as our waiter seemed attentive , prices are not terrible normal these days to have drinks coast about $12-14 . This place was good for enjoying some decent drinks, hanging back & just chilling with your friends.

Brian M.

Yelp
I will give this place 5 stars. Because it reminded me of my favorite New England tiki bar. The vibe is so delicious...just like the drinks. Went here for our anniversary and had the veggie Banh Mi and the nachos. Both went well with our Super Old fashioned, John the Beachcomber, Slow Reveal, and Mezcal Mai Tai. Yeah, we had four drinks, SO WHAT!? If you like cocktails, and drinking, and cocktails, and tiki, and chill vibes, and just want something cocktaily come through! I dare you!

JM T.

Yelp
Nice cocktail lounge with a Tiki vibe in the cut .. while it's on Nostrand Ave, it's easy to miss. Cute backyard great for a drink date Eat before going here their Food menu is pretty limited to kettle chips and nachos

Jessica G.

Yelp
I was bar hopping on a Friday night with a first date and we came into here and it was super cute! Tropical vibes and it was perfect for summertime. We looked at the drink menu and only one had a supersize, so we decided to get that and share because it's a bang for your buck! After this we we're feeling nice nice.

Yelp
I've been here quite a few times and never had any issues until this early morning of 4/30/23. This particular bartender Ive never seen before was extremely rude, not only to my friends and I but to others as well as we observed. It seemed as if he was more interested in his friends that came to visit him & a man that peaked his interest. My friends and I were enjoying our conversation until we felt dirty looks our way from him & that's when I asked are you ready for us to leave and he shook his head yes. So we didn't want to stay where we weren't wanted (after paying rounds of drinks) so we left. Mind you it wasn't closing time as of yet. The door wasn't locked after we left, but he wanted to continue his conversation with the man that peaked his interest without any disturbance from us. As someone who has come here on the regular, inviting my friends who have never been, this was extremely embarrassing for me. I definitely will be spending my money elsewhere in the neighborhood after this experience

Jason R.

Yelp
On an extremely rainy Friday night, I decided to venture here with two friends. Since we were being responsible, we decided not to drive and use mass transit, that didn't turn out well, as there was a huge storm and it was an adventure getting here. Nonetheless, I made the most of it. I was surprised by how packed the place was despite the tropical storm outside. I was immediately greeted, as I arrived before my two friends. I decided to have a painkiller while I waited for them and a table to possibly open up (one finally did after about an hour) the staffers here were awesome. Very friendly, cordial and eager to answer any and all questions. The drinks were cool, too. I had both a Painkiller and Mai Tai; my sole complaint was the nachos, they were horrible. My final regret was the weather, which prevented us from sitting out back. However, I'd definitely return here before the summer is out!

Morlene C.

Yelp
So desperate was I to get out of the house in the waning months of winter and still not yet inoculated against the the scary viral-laden aerosols spewing from the mouths of other people, I turned to Super Power's heated backyard. I've learned many things about outdoor dining in New York this year, and one big takeaway is that no amount of heat lamps will protect your toes from freezing in sub 30 degree fahrenheit weather. Still, I shivered my way through a post-dinner drinking frenzy, just wanting to socialize in a safe-ish space. Their heat lamps weren't strong, but they fortunately had a couple of hot cocktails on their menu that made up for it, including a delicious and strong hot toddy. We satisfied Cuomo's food with drink order rule with a tiny cup of chips and coagulated cheese they charged us just $1 for, which of course we obliged. Now that it's warm out, vaccinations are up, and covid rates are down, we can comfortably chill on their back patio, a little less hunched over a hot cocktail and a little more with our head thrown back, galangal daiquiri in hand and take advantage of their $1 oyster happy hour special. Is there a duo that is imbued with more of a summery vibe than that?

Barney C.

Yelp
If you like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain ... just like that catchy song, you'll fall in love Super Power. It's a tiki bar with a laid-back vibe. Great for hanging out with friends, especially in the backyard on a late evening. The drinks here are exceptional! The Penicillin would be my recommendation. Looking forward to coming back here to try out the other delectable cocktails on the menu.

Johnny G.

Yelp
It's first come first serve which I thought would be a disaster but it was pretty easy to get seats. I have a huge infinite to tiki bars and themed bars. The place was definitely island-y vibes and dont get me started on the playlist. A little loud but great hip hop/rnb/pop/dance music. Of course that had pretty unique array of drinks at a very affordable price. They dont have a ton food items but let's be honest the drinks are the stars (had nachos which were great!) All the drinks were delicious and distinctively different. John the Beachcomber (essentially me) was the strongest and one of my favorites.

Austin A.

Yelp
Awesome spot. Great happy hour for oysters and a cocktail. Nice backyard area to enjoy the summer vibes.

Luke B.

Yelp
I'm a long time customer of Super Power. Whenever I'm in the area I have to stop in for a John the Beachcomber ($12). If my girlfriend is with me we'll upgrade to the Super Size For 2 ($25). Quite possibly the best tiki drink I've ever had. Drinks aside, the real hidden gem at this place is the nachos ($7). By far, the best nachos in the city. The combination of real queso (none of that shredded stuff) and sour cream really set this apart. The only other nachos that come close are at The Commodore in Williamsburg. Exceptional stuff.

Claire L.

Yelp
Great drinks and a friendly bartender. Loved the back outdoor area which was full of tropical plants. And they have citronella candles to keep the insects away! Would highly recommend the painkiller, and the mai tai was also good. For about 12 bucks a drink this place is a great deal.

Anastasiya S.

Yelp
Nice service and drinks! Painkiller is one love Thanks for this amazing place! I love it!

Kenny C.

Yelp
Maybe the cutest bar ever? Possibly the best date night spot? Some of the coolest neon? Awesome backyard? Yes to all those questions. It was toward the end of the cold part of spring, so inside and the yard was packed. They have a parklette out front, so we started out there and the bartender was kind enough to save us the first table in the yard that opened up (if you have the choice, definitely go yard). Anyway, it's a tiki bar, so adjust your cocktail expectations accordingly. I got the Slow Reveal, which was rum, amaro, and some other stuff. Very delicious, even on a colder night. The drink prices also can't be beat. Stop on by!

Cathy K.

Yelp
Get the pain killer! Now! Can't think of anything better on a warm breezy summer evening. Sort of creamy/milky with the right amount of sweetness, still fairly strong. Several indoor booths and tables, but their backyard with individual table dividers and cute lighting is my favorite.

Anastacia T.

Yelp
This place is wonderful but beware of the Monday night "manager." The bartenders abs bar backs are fabulous'

Rits M.

Yelp
I came here on a Wednesday night. The patio was backed at 730 but when I started a line people followed. We managed to get a seat about 15 mins later. The place is cute and has a cool vibe. Love the round chairs and the plants, and all the paint work and lights they have put up. Service always rather slow but the waitress was really run off her feet. Guess it was just volume of people they had to serve. We had the John the beachcomber- I didn't like this very much, it was strong but comes in a big bowl full of ice so gets watered down really quickly. The painkillers are worth a try but they are slightly on the smaller side. So overall- tasty drinks but not quantity wise for price. Also tried the nachos with the pulled pork and they were genuinely good, size and quantity wise for the piece. And super delicious too! Definitely recommend these. Overall, fun place to get drinks with friends but for celebrations, they have smaller tables so not more than 4-6 people.

Olivia S.

Yelp
Super power is one of my favorite places in crown heights. My roommate and I used to come here every week when we lived a couple of blocks away. We went back recently and it is better than ever! Make sure to get the nachos (they are to die for) and one of their frozen drinks, the painkiller is my favorite and it even comes in a cute little coconut cup

Marlena K.

Yelp
I really love this place. Bartenders were super friendly and attentive. I got a frozen drink I think it was called the pain killer it was super tasty and thick and creamy, but if your looking for something strong probably not for you. I then opted for this drink in a tiki man cup I forgot the name I think beachcomber ? but It was STRONG, doesn't have the same effect as tequila (if you know what I mean) but you can tell there not cheap with the booze. I really recommend coming here. The vibes are chill you can have a conversation or play pinball. I highly recommend it! Lots of drinks with rum, and there full of flavors and spices I know it sounds gross but it's so good!!

Syon S.

Yelp
Super power ‍gives me super powers....I enjoy coming here every single time. It's always a lively environment but what makes this place unique is the staff, oh boy trust me they make sureeeeee your set and ready to drink drink and drink lol. I enjoy the variety of drinks that comes in the unique cups, interesting flavors and combos.. the nachos ate to die for i always end up getting more than one order of it. The cheese is so rich, along with the sour cream and black beans layered on top the nachos..I always recommend this place and always drag someone here with me..

Andrei A.

Yelp
Very nice and cozy place. They do amazing cocktails! I'd like to try everything they have. But painkiller melted my cold heart!.. Thank you!

Arielle D.

Yelp
This place closes late on a Sunday and the cocktails are unique and strong. I love the fact that the drinks include rums from different Caribbean countries. I am looking forward to stopping by on a Friday or Saturday night.

Xenia M.

Yelp
I like Super Power. It's a really cool concept that combines a Hawaiian and Caribbean feel in this urban jungle Brooklyn. There's a cute little backyard area, when you enter it feels as if you've stepped into tropical paradise. Just an FYI if you sit at the booths, you must order your drinks at the bar. There is no table service. The staff could be more attentive. When we entered we had to wait awhile for someone to greet us. I love their drink selection. They offer a variety of cocktails, and have lots of rum options from the Caribbean. I ordered the three berry sangria, which had a nice hibiscus undertone. I highly recommend this, especially for those who prefer wine over liquor. My partner ordered the Reveal which came in a cool pineapple cup. Overall I enjoyed my experience here. I'd love to come back and try more of their cocktail offerings.

Mcconnell L.

Yelp
This unassuming whole in the wall was great! Nice local vibe and everything was great. We ordered the nachos which are way better tasting than you would assume from the Yelp pictures. For drinks we got the Slow Reveal, Painkiller and John the Beachcomber. Kudos to the bartender for excellent drinks with generous liquor pours.

Shai C.

Yelp
Drinks are good but you get robbed with the size of the actual cup. (Especially with the painkiller drink) But AGAIN the drinks were delicious so order 2! BYT the NACHOS ARE F**king AMAZING don't try sharing it everyone should have their own.

Mitch E.

Yelp
Without a doubt one of the best Happy Hours in Brooklyn. Between the food and drinks, it's hard to go wrong here. And with the happy hour going from 5-8, you can't go wrong. Definitely my favorite bar in a strip of great ones on Nostrand Avenue. Tiki themed, with some awesome pinball in the back, I'm a fan. They have some of my favorite drinks like "John the Beachcomber". I'm not 100% sure, but I think there might be a connection to one of my other favorite bars, Bearded Lady. They got great dollar oysters for happy hour. And that Bahn Mi Hot Dog is delicious. If you're planing a day or night around Nostrand, this is a must.

Racquel B.

Yelp
I'm a beer, red wine, and neat whiskey kinda girl. Keep it simple, cut to the chase--not mixy. But lately I've been making room in my space for the mix and mingle crowd--yes, you cocktails. The equal opportunity of drinks; the inclusive beverage of the libation bunch. On this particular hump day I wanted a well made cocktail. Something fruity, maybe muddled, not too sweet, and one that wouldn't be confused with juice. Super Power was in my bookmarks and i figured why not stop on by. It was dimly lit with some island-y tunes vibing out from the speakers. Cute outback patio, but I opted for the bar seating. The bartender was sweet and super chill. I got the Slow Reveal because #angostura #trinidad. It did not disappoint. It was perfectly mixed giving just enough tart, refreshing kick from the lime and cashew milk and just enough rum, that two drinks could easily have me Drake-ing out the bar. It's a creeper alright. P.S. the drink mug is detachable from the base. Save yourself the leaning forward like I did(n't).

Summer K.

Yelp
I ordered the painkiller and it was probably the best cocktail I have ever had. Really delicious and perfect if you like sweet drinks. The staff was really nice and it only took about 7 mins to get out order and it looked quite busy. The drink was beautiful and the outdoor patio is super cute! Perfect places for delicious tropical drinks!

Wanda W.

Yelp
Save your time, money and energy. I came for oysters happy hour because you know I love Oyster Happy Hour. I initially picked this place because it was new (to me) local and I loved the design of the menu. What went wrong : #1 SERVICE WAS AWFUL Myself and my guest sat in the last booth nearest the bathroom and outside seatting area. The booth that was also closest to the staff as they made their way in and out the bar. AT NO POINT did anyone who worked there address us or come to the table. I literally started choking on dust and reached for some water I realized we didn't even have at the table. I got up and asked was there table service and the the latino bartender with cornrows looked up, said no, and went about his business. IF YOU DON'T HAVE TABLE SERVICE THE TELL PEOPLE THAT WHEN THEY SIT DOWN OR LEAVE A SIGN ON THE TABLE! Strike one. We move our things to the bar and at this point I've made a conscious decision to get my order and leave. Ohhhhh but no! Our order of 2 dozen oysters and a hotdog took 38 minutes. Why you say?! Because there is no kitchen. There is ONE man who is making all the orders by himself literally shucking dozens of oysters alone and preparing all the hot dogs on a small toaster oven situation. I actually felt bad for him. Strike two. The staff all appeared to hate or dislike each other. You know when you and your siblings get into a fight but then your parents come home and you have to pretend you were not just trying to kill each other? That was the vibe of the staff. The mood lightened slightly when a tallish caucasian man came. He seemed to be the glue for everyone else. I noted he said to the the shortish blond haired man with a European accent "oh I see we have a waitress today". However, she was only serving the guest in the patio area, which was never mentioned to us when we asked about waited service. Strike three. Overall, this experience was worth 0 stars. The atmosphere was tropical, the staff was a natural disaster who were just throwing paper towels at the problem... The establishment seems to be under staffed and has an inability to efficiently deliver their food. The 1 star received definitely goes to the cook. He was working mad hard to fill the orders and the oysters were not terrible. 8 out of 10. We never tried the drinks because the bartender was so rude. Try Mayfield, Catfish, or literally any other place.

Jared W.

Yelp
Amazing tiki bar here in Crown Heights. Drink prices are great, bartenders are skilled and attentive, and locale is comfortable in every season. Love the painkiller frozen drink. Oysters are fresh (had my first ones ever here!) and other food is solid. Backyard space is adorable but seating can be competitive. Can't say much more than this. Keep it up!

Jedsada Y.

Yelp
Super Power is a cool tiki-themed bar in the sketchy area of BK. As I've always looking for $1 oysters happy hour, Super Power came up a block away from the site where I was working. I love their late happy hour which is from 5-8 with a $2 off any draft beer and any oyster for a buck. I was very surprised to find out that they don't serve Bluepoints oysters (which was great!). To be honest, I am so sick and tried of bluepoints oysters by now, that's why I love this place so much. They've got 4 oysters from the east coast and two from the west coast. My coworker and I ordered 2 dozens of oysters, and they randomly picked them out for us. Unlike Gigacup and Hama Hama from Washington state, Umami and Big Rock were quite briny. Will definitely come back again and again for more Oysters (and beer)

Geraldine E.

Yelp
I love this place. This cute tiki bar is tucked in Crown Heights. Their cocktails are tasty and strong. They do have a small food menu and offer several types of oysters. I've been here a few times and I felt the need to write a review. Our bartender Alex was very courteous and informative about our drinks. Between the two of us we had 2 frozen margaritas, Jonn the Beachcomber and the Slow Reveal. The weakest was the Slow Reveal which is what we wanted but boy the beachcomber was strong. Also the music was good they were playing salsa, Celia Cruz and more. This made me wanted to just dance. I'll definitely come back here especially since it's not far from me

Nyota W.

Yelp
Who doesn't love rum cocktails and oyster happy hours? I don't know those people. I may have tried every cocktail on this menu. I've never been disappointed and I don't really consider myself to be a huge rum drinker. As that's their "thing" you'll have lots of rum options if that matters to you, but they also have a full bar, so you can address you're standard drink cravings as well. They don't have an extensive food menu, but offer enough options to help absorb whichever tasty cocktails that you'll ultimately order. I'm taking hot dogs, a vegetarian hot dog and oysters. When the weather is nice, be sure to arrive early and find a spot in the outdoor area on one of those cool ass blue chairs that make you feel like you're in a friend's relaxing backyard. Check it out.

Jhanio D.

Yelp
Love this place! Great Painkillers and nachos. The vibe is always nice and the staff is always helpful and accommodating. Truly a neighborhood gem

Chantalle U.

Yelp
Crown heights + tiki drinks = Super Power On weekends it can get packed so keep that in mind when you head out. I love this place. The drinks are carefully crafted, the staff are chill, and the nibbles though little are fierce. Perfect for dates or the inner tiki lovers (like myself). I can't remember what I drank exactly because I was pretty drunk by the time I got there, but I vividly remember enjoying the drinks and especially those nachos doe! If you're looking for a new bar or a good date spot, I highly recommend this bar!

Alex G.

Yelp
My new favorite place in the hood- take all of my money!! I just moved a few blocks away from this inconspicuous little piece of paradise...seriously I walked past the entrance while google-mapping the directions! The backyard is gorgeous, the drinks are delicious, and the staff was super nice. I plopped down at a table for four and nervously waited for my friends to arrive for Happy Hour. I kept waiting for dirty looks for being *that person* hogging a larger table, but the looks didn't come and the sever was super sweet. I had the Mezcal Mai Tai which was the perfect balance of sweetness and smokiness. My friend got the Three Berree Sangaree which was a little too sweet for my taste. Both drinks were beautifully decorated, so much so that my friend pressed her flower garnish in her journal! The nachos were the perfect snack and I tried the happy hour oysters as well. They were little guys, but the price ($1 a piece) and the malted vinegar made up for it! I'm excited to come back. This seems to be the perfect date spot as well, as an added bonus for me there was definitely an online dating date going down at the table next door.

Desrin M.

Yelp
I finally got a chance to come here - it has been on my list of places to visit for the longest time. So on my recent visit this past Saturday all I can say was this place was packed. I was not able to get a seat at the bar because, people were using the seats to hold there coats. So we had to stand the duration of our time there. The bartender with the long curly hair makes a great drink and she was super friendly. She greeted as soon as we found a clear spot to stand by the bar. We ordered 1 Mezcal Mai Tai and we Super Sized the Jonn the Beachcomber. The Mai Tai was like nothing at had before it was very smoky in flavor and it had an unforgiving after taste that could not be described. The Jonn the beachcomber was delicious and strong...it was definitely rum on rum on rum. It had flowers and decorations on it - I do not know if I was supposed to eat one of the flowers but, I ate one anyway. Now as far as the food they offer three hot items on the menu but, I did not get a chance to try it. The kitchen was not your average kitchen in the back of the restaurant/bar. There kitchen was located right off of the bar with a small counter space to hold the deep fryer and panini machine. The chef was also the DJ. He was playing music from his cell phone and dancing around his space while he made nachos. It was both entertaining and awkward to watch. I will definitely go back for a drink but, I don't think I will be ordering food at this establishment.

Tracey K.

Yelp
This place is in the Crowne Heights neighborhood. It's colorful and the art that goes into making the drinks is so precise and spectacular. Some of the drinks are big enough (and strong enough) to share. The bartenders were wonderfully entertaining and so talented! Fun place!

Darren B.

Yelp
This cocktail bar is really great spot to hangout with friends. The drinks are mixed well and they have a few good snack options the nachos are my favorite. There is an outdoor area but at the time we visited you couldn't get service there so you would have to walk in to the main area to place orders. It's not too loud so you can have good conversations and not struggle to hear your friends.

Ayesha A.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place one Saturday night when my original destination was too crowded. This bar has a pretty cool laid back vibe. There are seats at the bar, a few booths and backyard. Bartenders and friendly and skilled. I ordered John the Beachcomber (super sized) which is good for 2-3 people. It was $22 and it was really good. I can't wait to come back here and try another cocktail and food.

Beril E.

Yelp
Super Power grew on me the moment I entered the backyard. The cool blue chairs and the laid back feel of the backyard meshed well with their strong Polynesian drinks. I'd choose a Brooklyn bar with a large backyard over some posh cocktail spot in Manhattan any day. I'm a bourbon drinker, so I immediately went for the Super Fashioned, but I can't imagine going wrong with any of the drinks since they all sounded very strong and flavorful. At $10, the cocktails aren't cheap, but you're also paying for the experience and the presentation of the drinks here, so it's worth it. The Banh mi Dog gets a special shoutout because it was a simple but amazing idea. You basically take a hot dog and turn it into a Vietnamese banh mi sandwich. I loved it, albeit thought it was a bit pricey for a hot dog at $6. The Nachos were good, but only when you splurge the extra 2 bucks to get the pulled pork added on them. They have $1 oysters during happy hour running from 5-8pm on the weekdays. Make use of that!

Katie B.

Yelp
We've been coming to Super Power since they opened and have always had a good time. We visited today (during covid phase 2 reopening ) and we're delighted as always. There was plenty of space (front parklet and back yard) and the drinks were still on point (though limited menu of course). Thanks as always for the amazing hospitality. TIP YOUR BARTENDER!

Tresha W.

Yelp
Finally made our way to Super Power which is in our neighborhood. It's a cute spot to have in the mix on Nostrand and I hope that more people from the area decide to grab a drink there. The bartender was nice, attentive and made our drinks strong and tasty. The drink menu has a number of fun cocktails. We had the Slow Reveal and the Pain Killer. The presentation was fun and the drinks were good. I also order some snacks-- the nachos and a few oysters. The oysters are a little expensive, 3 for $10. The nachos were tasty but the chips were the thick and hard kind, just FYI if you have sensitive teeth. The music was cool, the night we were there they were playing hip hop. Overall it was solid and we'll be back and hoping the clientele diversifies a bit.

Yelp
I returned to Super Power for the first time since checking it out way back when when it was a new spot. I was pleased to learn that Super Power has a lovely patio with super cute, super comfy chairs and leg rests. I ordered a delicious albeit tiny frozen margarita while waiting for my happy hour date. When she arrived we ordered a fishbowl to share and I ordered some nachos as well. I didn't gets any pulled pork on the nachos, just beans and cheese and let's just say, the nachos left a lot to be desired. If I wasn't so hungry, I probably would have just left them alone. Never again! Eventually due to the rain, my friend and I moved to the bar inside. Good thing we did because we eventually ordered two rounds of dollar oysters. They were absolutely delicious! And we appreciated to mix of two types as part of the happy hour special. I'd definitely be back to Super Power for drinks when in the area.

Yelp
++++ - Super friendly bartenders, I was really impressed with the service +++ - apple sangria was really good - cool environment, with cooler soundtrack ++ - Painkiller was great and strong, and soft (it's frozen, but not icey, more like ice cream) - Love the pork + - Joe's volcano (I think that's the name) was tasty, but not as good as the other two - Nachos were good (and big, enough to feed three, satiably) - Hot dog was alright, but nothing to write home about - - Nachos were kind of cheesy and not enough pork

Yelp
The entire time I was here, I kept thinking, "Damn, I wish this was my neighborhood bar!" Then again, maybe it's just as well since I'd probably never want to leave: So yeah... I don't know much from tiki, but I definitely know from kitschy. Indeed. The instant I set foot in this place, it reminded me of a retro lounge I adored back in my hometown, credited with inventing the Pink Squirrel, a trashy, boozy white creme de cacao and almond ice cream drink tinged, dare I say, millennial pink. Need I say more? Anyway, most of the cocktails here contain rum, which am not really into. But I'm no uncivilized brute, and know that's part of the whole tropical tiki schtick. Thus, wound up going with the only vodka-based drink, Beach Vibes, billed on the menu as "a Blue Hawaii, by way of Nostrand Avenue." Well, it was blue alright and at first sip, it tasted a bit syrupy and a bit unsophisticated... But I think maybe that's the point. At any rate, it didn't take more than a couple more sips for me to get into it, though am sure it didn't hurt that it was strong (**wink**). The bartender made a virgin Mojito for the kid, which he loved, and hubby stuck with his usual boring beer on-tap. We also tried the food, including Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Nachos, and a Banh Mi Veggie Dog. I can definitely vouch for the latter. Yes, the hot dog component still tasted every bit like well, soy protein isolate, but the bun and toppings really elevated it, and for only $5. Pulled Pork Sandwiches were solid, but they were on the very small side. So was glad we also ordered Nachos, which stand out in my memory 'cause the the chips were so beautifully thick and sturdy, as if house-made. Am flashing back, too, on hubby's observation that the Nachos needed some sliced jalapeno to add heat. He also pointed out that the kitchen, if you could call it that, consists of a tiny space within the bar. Keeping that in mind, I thought the food was really impressive and only wish there had been a couple more options to choose from. When we were here, late on a Sunday afternoon, the crowd was pretty low key. In fact, ours was not the only family chilling here, among mostly, am guessing, locals enjoying a lazy day recovering from Saturday night's hangover. The indoor space and backyard are fun and feel like an escape from BK. Plus, the bartender who served up our drinks and grub was SUPER sweet, which am thinking may be a prerequisite to work here. It is called Super Power, afterall.:) ps This place is just a couple blocks from now notorious Summerhill, which was gratifyingly near-empty as we walked past it. Clearly, the 'let's deeply offend the very people we're hoping to attract' business model is not working for 'em.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this spot for quite some time, and this past Friday, I was finally able to lay eyes on the place. The place is staffed by what seems to be wonderfully kind and professional people. I especially appreciated their attention to cleanliness and other COVID-19 measures. Now, and this has become the bane of my existence with so many bars nowadays: COCKTAILS SHOULD NOT BE SERVED IN ROCKS GLASSES!!! No, this is not a demand for "more liquor," but an acknowledgement of proper bartending. We ordered margaritas on the rocks, and because of the size of the glass AND THE ROCKS, three sips and you're done. This crap drives me crazy. Rocks glasses are for spirits on the rocks or neat. I can't tell you how much this bothers me, and I typically refuse to return to places who do this, as I think it most greedy and deceptive.
