The 23 Best Places For Cheap Sushi In LA

"There is no shortage of great restaurants in Koreatown, but finding sushi that won’t cost you a half-month’s rent can still be difficult. That’s why you should know about Sushi Hon on Olympic Blvd, a dark sushi bar with a long menu and lots of paper lanterns for some extra moodiness. The most expensive thing on the sushi bar’s menu is s $60, 14-piece sashimi platter, with most entrees and rolls falling comfortably under $20. We usually come for the lunch deals, but you can’t go wrong with the sashimi plate, sushi roll combo platter, or a giant donburi bowl." - jess basser sanders, brant cox, sylvio martins, garrett snyder

Sushi Hon Review - Koreatown - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Koreatown is home to some of the best restaurants in the city, but finding quality sushi that won’t cost you a half month’s rent is still somewhat difficult. But Sushi Hon on Olympic has reasonable prices and a great lunch deal. Whether it’s a sashimi plate, sushi roll combo platter, or a giant bowl of donburri, you can’t really go wrong especially when the most expensive thing is $22." - Brant Cox

Google
The only sushi spot I go for food and drink in Koreatown. Great area with ample street parking, plus valet, if need-be. Or get a takeout order! When it comes to sushi, I am pretty much a broken record, ordering same items every time for many years at a time. If you’re not sure of what to order, always ask your server! Also. Huge selection of soju, sake, beers, with premium options. Great food, friendly service, and it is on the quieter side of town, which is a big reason I frequent.

Happy Liz

Google
The sashimi was very fresh and everyone was friendly. They served delicious side dishes and I was very satisfied. Recommended~!

Google
Some of the best sushi we’ve ever had! We ordered takeout and everyone in the group loved their picks. My absolute favorite was the Under the Sea Roll, but everything was great and there are so many choices here that you won’t find anywhere else. I could absolutely eat here again and again. Check them out!

Google
I visited this place twice and both experiences were pretty much same. The fish quality was decent but the atmosphere of interior design and amount of the sushi per/pc just doesn't equates to the price you're paying for, especially in ktown. However, the servers were attentive.

Google
This was our first time visiting Sushi Hon, and it didn't disappoint! Food and service, wonderful; and the music and loud conversation really set a pretty enjoyable atmosphere. I think I just found my new spot! 😋🍣🥢 #Sushi #Restaurant #Dinner #GoodFood #Vibes

Nothing special compared to other bunch of sushi place. Very small but cozy. Street parking is not so bad. Happy hour selections are kind of reasonable.

Google
Yesterday was mine and my bf's first time at Sushi Hon and I left wondering why I didn't come here sooner when this place is practically in our backyard! For our first time at the restaurant, we split the 12-pc nigiri ($40) and the 9-pc premium nigiri ($50). The premium nigiri pictured was underwhelming compared to the 12-pc. I didn't take a picture of the 12 piece, but it came in 6 pairs of fish that were all as wonderful in quality as the next.

Not bad. Cozy, unassuming little sushi spot in ktown. Had sushi and sashimi, hot sake and asahi to wash everything down. :) salmon and yellowtail melts in your mouth. I’d come back!

Yelp
I cannot believe I hadn't discovered this place until now! As a huge fan of izakayas, sushi, and sake, this spot in Koreatown has completely stolen my heart (and taste buds). From the moment I ordered the sashimi platter, I was blown away. The quality of the fish is next level--thick, fresh cuts that just melt in your mouth. The three-person sashimi platter came beautifully presented with premium selections like amaebi, uni, toro, and more. Every bite was a dream. On my first visit, I was so amazed that I went back just a few days later--this time with my boyfriend, because I had to show him how incredible it was. He could tell how serious I was about bringing him here, and he totally got why. Bonus: They have a happy hour from 5-7 PM with 50% off premium sake. YES. You'll absolutely want to stay here for a couple of hours to truly enjoy the experience, so do yourself a favor and Uber! Not only was the sashimi unforgettable, but everything else we ordered--from tako karaage, and nabeyaki udon to green tea and tempura ice cream--was also excellent. The service? Friendly and attentive. The atmosphere? Cozy, welcoming, and just what you want from a quality izakaya. The prices were reasonable, especially for the quality you're getting. I used to go to Korean-style sashimi places for my raw fish fix, but honestly? This is officially my new go-to. Nothing else compares. If you love sushi, sashimi, or just a good izakaya night out--you need to try this place. I'll definitely be back every time I crave sashimi.

Yelp
My friends and family adore this woman-owned sushi restaurant on the west edge of Koreatown. Sharon, the owner, is so sweet and usually says hello to every table, which we think adds a nice little touch to each visit. We love that it's a convenient meeting point for people from the Westside and Eastside. We've been regulars for years (eat in and delivery), and none of us have ever had a bad meal here. We love coming for the happy hour menu! It's such a great deal and you get a ton of food! The service is always friendly, but can be pretty hit or miss. The ambience is casual, so come as you are. If you're bringing little ones, know that the wait staff is great with them (they also serve Ramune soda, which is something that the kids we know love). We love their happy hour specials and think the value and quality are good for the price point. Here's what we got at our most recent visit:Food: During this visit, we ordered mostly from the happy hour menu. There are various combinations that you can get. We decided to go with 2 orders of Combo A. We supplemented with some other dishes, too. - Uni Shooter - (Not part of the happy hour deal). This is my favorite dish on the entire menu! This uni shooter has uni, sake, ponzu, green onions, soy sauce, and a gobo garnish (one of my favorite pickled veggies). It's got great flavor, is slightly sweet, full of umami, tangy from the gobo, fresh, and just totally delightful.-Crispy Blue Crab - We love this appetizer! It's blue crab on top of a perfectly cooked crispy rice rectangle, topped with a slice of avocado, jalapeño, and a drizzle of unagi sauce. It's indulgent and rich and is something we frequently order as part of the happy hour menu. - Rainbow roll (spicy tuna on the inside - it's our friend's favorite and she dined with us that day). Both the normal version (on the menu) and the modified one my friend orders (with spicy tuna on the inside) are yummy. The sliced fish on top is always fresh and never fishy. The spicy tuna filling has a nice kick, and the California roll filling is always a little sweet and tasty. - Hot Night Roll - We love the kick, crunch, and sweetness we get from every single bite of this roll. This is a roll we always order. It's a tempura shrimp roll with spicy tuna, cucumber, and eel sauce. It feels a little lighter than something like a dragon roll, so if we're debating between those two, we prefer the Hot Night.- Dragon Roll - A shrimp tempura cut roll with eel, avocado, and eel sauce on top. This is always crowd pleaser no matter where you go. The eel is always broiled to perfection and is always a good choice. - Malibu Roll - This is a spicy tuna/crab filled roll, topped with sautéed garlic white tiger shrimp. The pieces are massive and full of flavor. - Eel Avocado Roll - standard, tasty roll. Overall, we'll definitely be back for one of our favorite Happy Hour deals in town!

Yelp
Had dinner here with two guests. Parking is Valet of $4.00. The restaurant is small. They forgot one of our orders and I had to remind them. Staff is friendly. The food is good, but not great. There are better alternatives near by. Stars: 3

Yelp
The food was basic nothing impressive. The place had an unpleasant smell as soon as we walked in. The service was excellent.

Yelp
Well first and foremost I want to start off by saying Sharon (owner) is the nicest and kindest lady. She greeted us right away and was very welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and spot on! Sushi was fresh and very very tasty! I totally recommend this place, especially for Happy hour! The prices were amazing especially comparing it to the quality of the sushi! Over one of my top favorite sushi locations!

Yelp
Everything at Sushi Hon was delicious, fresh, and hit the spot! I got a 7:45PM reservation on a Thursday. When I arrived, almost every table was full, but it cleared out around 8:30PM. So if you're worried about getting in, remember they're open until 10! I was able to find street parking about a block off of Olympic too. Here's what we ordered for 2 people: - 14pc Omakase Sashimi (There were 2 pieces of 7 types of fish so it was perfect to share. The presentation was beautiful and I loved the variety! The torched sea bass was so unique, the wasabi crunch on top of the tuna was wonderful, and the salmon was so tender I didn't want it to end.) - Japanese Mackerel Sushi (I wanted to try it because I'm a big fan of other forms of mackerel. It was not my favorite fish that I tried because it definitely tasted the most fish-y and was not as tender as the others) - The Truffle Maker Roll (Super different! Since we ordered so much sashimi, felt like we only needed one premium roll so we went with this one since it was a little bit of everything and not your typical special roll. I don't know that truffle needs to be included in every food group, but I'm glad I tried it! It was a nice balance to the other sushi) - Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice (Comes with 4 large pieces. It was warm, crispy, chewy and just the right amount of spicy. Came with a bunch of spicy mayo on the plate that I dipped some of the other sushi in, obviously.) - Hot Green Tea (a must) The service was quick and kind. I'm so glad to have found another great sushi spot in LA, especially one that doesn't fully break the bank!

Real lobster roll here. It's good, (: The blue crab roll is a winner as well. Very nice decor

Yelp
went on a weekday night for dinner with a couple friends and it wasn't too busy so we got seated immediately. service could've been a bit faster but it wasn't bad. street parking or valet in the lots nearby but theres tons of parking in the neighborhoods nearby. - check in for free edamame, one per table! the portion size was pretty big - salmon sashimi (5/5): fresh and thick cuts - portland roll (5/5): really liked the sauce they put on this, it was light and cut through any heaviness from the meal - hon roll (4/5): jam packed with fish, really soft and tender - yellowtail scallion roll (4/5): simple but good! - baked scallop roll (2/5): i normally like these but i would skip it here. the scallop was slightly overcooked/rubbery, the sauce was too creamy/needed some contrast, and they also added onions and mushrooms which i like but wasnt expecting - drunken tiger (5/5): soo good, the fried shrimp stayed crispy and it didnt feel too heavy overall, i was pleasantly surprised! everything was fresh, i loved how thick the cuts of fish were in the sashimi and rolls, and pricing was decent. would come back!

Yelp
Sharon has done a great job, everything I try on the menu is superb!! Her staff is super friendly and will remember return costumers. Head sushi chef Mike, and his team Bruce and Steve are really great! Whenever I get a "chefs special or chefs choice" , I am always amazed!! - Miso soup + house salad - Grilled hamachi or salmon collar - Kaarage - Sashimi or sashimi salad - Nigiri (toro, unagi, salmon and yellow tail belly, jumbo scallop, halibut) - Portland Roll (fresh salmon-avocado-cali) or sushi hon roll (tuna galore) - Otoro and chutoro is never a disappointment and a great end to the meal ! - chocolate tempura ice cream always hiiiiits!! IYKYK - one of my fav korean style fish cake soup! it is peppery and refreshing - carbonara pasta is super creamy

Yelp
I loved this place. The service is VeRY friendly and they treated my son and daughter super well. I ordered the shishito peppers and they were amazing. The flavor was spot on. My kids had the miso soup and loved it. My son loved the salmon roll. I loved all their sushi but I did with it said it had mayo on the menu. Maybe I missed it. I'll return and make sure I ask for no mayo since I'm not a fan of mayo. Otherwise everything was amazing. I'll definitely return. Street parking was easy to find. Prices were reasonable.

Yelp
Ordered this for the first time and was extremely disappointed. Rolls came looking nothing like advertised and were so dry, no sauces, no toppings like jalapeño, on any rolls that were advertised, no chopsticks, no soy sauce. The Party Rock Roll had just fried shrimp on top, not popcorn shrimp with onions, masago, spicy mayo, eel sauce, etc. like in their photos. Will never be ordering again unfortunately, what you get doesn't match what they're advertising.

Yelp
This place is SO GOOD! Had some sushi, sake and Sapporo. Everything was amazing, service was spectacular. Met the owner and she is such a gem, I will be back for sure! The sushi is really good, so fresh

Yelp
This was my first time here and let me say this is possibly the best Sushi spot in So Cal. The freshness and size of the various dishes we got was second to none. Our servers Julia, Tyler and Min were great, attentive and was on the ball with refills on drinks and brining out the dishes. The chefs Kyle and Bryan really know there stuff and know how to make the guess experience a great one. The vibes in the restaurant were chill and fun at the same time. One thing I noticed is everyone just enjoying the food. There was an accident outside and most time people focus on looking but the food was so good and we had such a good time that we didn't even pay attention. The owner Sharon might have the best hidden gem in this sushi spot. If you are looking for fresh, fulfilling sushi and a great time then Hon Sushi is a must try. We will be back for sure.

Yelp
Found a Restaurant near a show that we were going to watch and gave it a try. When we walked in, they would greet us upon entering and exiting and saying Thank You. Limited sitting but can be RSVP online and can be packed at times but after giving this place a try, I know why. Valet parking ($4) is available near the back side of the restaurant. The wait time for the food was not that long. The food was great and tasted very good. The chicken and beef was so soft and easy to eat. Thinking of heading back to get it as a take out. The service was nice even though they were busy. It was a nice & friendly environment. Hope to return here soon when I go back to LA with or without the wife.

Yelp
this might be my one of my new favorite go to sushi spot in ktown. they do have happy hour so I would probably come back for that we ordered a ton of nigiris, the hon roll, and the baked salmon roll. the quality of the nigiris is amazing and honestly I was blown away. I'm not a cream cheese sushi fan but my boyfriend is so he enjoyed the baked salmon so excited for my next time here // IG: @stephiesmunchiez

Yelp
Took a friend for her birthday. Every roll we ordered was delicious: Truffle Maker, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, salmon avocado, and tuna with the appetizer Heart Attack. Owner was super kind and gifted us a birthday Tempura Green Tea Ice Creme (birthday candle included). When we left, the whole restaurant of servers and cooks said goodbye. I'll truly be back. Can't recommend this spot more.

Yelp
Sushi Hon is a quaint neighborhood gem that I frequently visit with my friends for their unsuspecting amazing sushi. It's a great place for a date or a small get together with friends. The owner Sharon is always there to great you before making her rounds to chat with everyone. Sushi Hon has a very "homey" feel with a variety of offerings. The place is relatively small so be aware of that on busy nights. Valet is available but I recommend parking down the street! Their fish is super fresh and the rolls are filling. The crispy rice is one of my favorites, they don't skimp out on the fish and the rice is always warm. Sushi Hon is truly a must try spot away from the busyness of sushi hubs like Little Tokyo. My go to's: - Hot Night Roll ($17) - All Star Roll ($18) - Crispy Spicy Salmon ($11) - Salmon Avocado ($8.5)

Yelp
Great neighborhood sushi spot that I only recently discovered. Came for dinner one weekend evening and we were seated right away and had our drinks delivered before we were even ready to order. Prices for drinks really are not bad compared to other sushi spots in the area. We ordered the drunken tiger, the eel roll, the party rock roll, shishito peppers and gyoza Of all the sushi the eel avocado roll was my favorite. The specialty rolls had a little TOO much going on in them. Kind of messy and impossible to eat in one bite. I think next time I come I will stick to all the simple rolls. Sushi was fresh and delicious, the specialty rolls were just a little too much for me. The gyoza seemed like they were not super fresh. Definitely my least favorite part of the meal. The shishito peppers MORE than made up for the gyoza. Omg. Probably the best shishito peppers I've ever had. Definitely the best in a long time. Massive portion soaked in some sort of smoky broth. So delicious, though my husband and I found it odd that there were only 2 spicy peppers in the whole thing. Expected a couple more at least but it did not matter. Will definitely return for more.

Yelp
Random trip to Sushi Hon last night and it was a good decision made by us! We actually drove to another spot before coming here and it didn't look didn't have a good vibe so we looked up something else. SMART MOVE!! They were so welcoming from the beginning.. You could see the energy of the place from the street.. they gave us great suggestions or what to order based of what we said we liked. They were accommodating to the kiddos. I haven't even mentioned the food yet but it was spot on. Shishito peppers and the miso soups were such great starters.. don't have a pic of the miso we ate it so fast. Not sure about the names of each rolls but all were worth trying. I do wish they had a description of each and let us know some of the rolls were a little heavy on the mayo because we don't do dairy but it didn't kill us. Next time we know to ask. The dragon roll or something wit a tiger was the best.. def try those! Thanks again we'll be back

Luis G.

Yelp
Sushi hon turned into one of my favorites tonight. Everything was amazing from beginning to finish. The ambience was there, service was amazing and Chef Kyle knows what he's doing with a knife. The Toro, halibut and snapper were special. I'll be coming back!

Yelp
We've driven past this cute spot many times and finally came for hubby's birthday today. I'm an uni lover and their uni was excellent! Nice fish to rice ratio - very generous cuts. Think we found our new neighborhood sushi spot.

Yelp
Many of the sushi places my kids and I enjoy has closed recently. Found this place on yelp, had good reviews, so decided to try. The sushi was good. Not the best I've had but not the worst. Good quality. They were busy so we sat at the bar. Sushi chef was generous with the cut of the sashimi. But the service was abit slow as there was only one server. It's a small restaurant, so nice and cozy. Definitely make reservations or you'll have to wait.

Yelp
Delicious, fresh sushi with great service. We stumbled upon this gem and were treated with great service and great food. Highly recommend the sashimi and albacore with crispy onion. Onions were hot! Everything was great! Close to Ebel Theater if you're catching a show and want to get a pre show dinner!

Yelp
Decided to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday at this restaurant after looking at other reviews and noticing the 40 piece sashimi boat option. I made a reservation a few days before just because I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of wait on a Friday night. We arrived a few minutes early but were seated promptly. There are outdoor seating options for those who choose. The noise level was a little loud at first, but mainly due to a group of young people getting the staff to do shots with them, which waiters oblige. Regardless waiters were attentive and not only did we get a free appetizer of our choice for checking in, but they even gave us complimentary edamame. We started off with the coconut shrimp, which was amazing. We then ordered the 40 piece sashimi boat along with the mixed tempura, which was just the right amount of crispy. The dipping sauce was also great, We also ordered two premium rolls: Party rock Roll and the Tiger Roll. My husband had capped out so he took his half to go. The bill came up to almost $300 with tip, but keep in mind boat is $140 and we also ordered some drinks and appetizers. I honestly would highly recommend giving this place a try and avoid the wait of other spots in the area.

Yelp
Food: - chicken karage - baked salmon - loco moco roll- my favorite - under the sea - Drunken tiger Everything was delicious! I would reorder everything again. Service: I really like their service. Super kind and friendly. I ordered a dish with no avocado, it came with it anyways. Since I didn't want to be rude and have them do it over, I was ok with it. Our server noticed from afar that I was sad when my husband said didn't you say no avocado? When I said it was ok, he came over and said he's going to redo it for me. That was amazing. I will always try to come back here when I am back in town. I def recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Cute little dive sushi place! It doesn't look like much on the outside but it gets pretty busy which peaked our interest! Glad we tried it bcus now it's our favorite sushi spot! Best sushi I've had as someone sorta new to LA coming from Bay Area! Whenever my mom visits she wants to come and won't eat at any other place anymore! lol also their happy hour is bomb! We love the chicken karage and every roll we've gotten has been delicious! Sushi is so fresh with tasty fresh combos and perfectly sauces! Highly recommend for cute vibes and good food with a really friendly owner and staff!

Yelp
Pro Tip: Make a reservation through Yelp, peak time is approximately 7:30 to close so come early, they open at 5pm. Sushi Hon is on the western-most edge of K-Town and street parking is limited, however, the effort is worth it once sat inside or at a few tables outside. The sushi bar area is also a choice. They let us in shortly before 5pm but other than present menus no orders would be taken until 5pm on the dot. Fair enough, it wasn't crowded and it gave us time to study the menu. I recommend looking at Yelp pictures because the current menu is laminated text with little description. In most cases this will suffice, especially if you get sushi often. The Chef's specials of sashimi (14 pieces) and nigiri sushi (12 pieces) run $48/45 respectively. We added additional nigiri sushi, especially Amberjack and Salmon, plus some baked mussels, and Citrus-Salmon Sashimi. Miso Soup came complimentary after placing the order and we didn't wait long before the Sashimi plate arrived along with the citrus-laced salmon. Everything was really fresh and tasty although we'd pass on the citrus salmon in the future. It didn't have enough flavor to stand out. The baked mussels also were just okay. Perfectly baked but the sauce lacked something, neither sweet nor savory enough. I like it when the meat is separated from the shell, however, that's not how the chefs do it here. These are trivial critiques, the food was upstanding otherwise. Truthfully, the nigiri sushi stole the show for us. Excellent in presentation with knife work, quantity, and expertly seasoned rice. In fact, it was because the rice was so well done, never fell apart, and whatever rice wine or vinegar they used, it was a highlight. Whoever thought rice would rock like that? When the two cut rolls arrived at the end we were already full. Next time though we'll focus solely on the nigiri sushi and maybe get one roll. I'd like to try some Yellowtail Collarbone or carpaccio, and maybe a daily special too. Outstanding service throughout, friendly staff and clean bathrooms to boot.

Yelp
What an embarrassing night. My husband and I decided to do something different this Thanksgiving and agreed on a sushi dinner. When I searched for a sushi restaurant that took reservations for Thanksgiving day dinner, Sushi Hon came up, so I made a reservation. This was on 11/21. On 11/24 I received an email reminding of the dinner reservation. On the same day, I received a text message asking me to confirm the reservation, which I replied to. Our reservation was at 5:30 and we got there a few minutes before and noticed that the door was locked. We wondered if the restaurant opens at 5:30 and that we were just too early, but we checked the Yelp page again just to find out that the place was closed. I was so frustrated and embarrassed as I got my husband so excited about this place. Definitely not worth considering again.

Yelp
This place is great! The ambiance and set Up makes you forget you're in LA. Service is fast and very welcoming. Came in with my dad and we got the the mix tempura, gyoza, 15 piece sashimi mix, order of Toro, Crazy Dragon Roll & Hon roll. The appetizers portions are bigger than usual sushi places I've gone to. The Hon roll- chefs kiss. The fish are very tasty, literally melts in your mouth. Will definitely be coming again!

Yelp
THE BEST. Started out as a neighborhood go-to spot out of convenience because it is walking distance from our house. But this place is such a hidden gem in ktown! The sushi is fresh, rice is seasoned well, service is always reliably good, happy hour is such a great deal, the list goes on. The only minor inconvenience is that there is no parking lot. There is a lot of street parking after 7 pm on Olympic, but otherwise, it can be a little difficult. Back to the food! The appetizers are great too. We often get the spicy tuna crispy rice, agedashi tofu, mixed tempura and salmon collar. All are delicious. The nigiri and handrolls come with really big cuts of fish, and the special rolls are huge. Really a great option for sushi in ktown and is comparable to the best sushi spots in Little Tokyo. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I had Nigiri sushi and sashimi after eating these I threw up everything!! I really don't recommend this place!

Yelp
It was our first time coming here and to my surprise the food was very good. Service was great and our waiter was very nice and patient with us when we were trying to place our order. We will definitely come back since it's really close to home. This place is really cute. Thank you to everyone who kept asking how everything was.

Yelp
I came here twice in one weekend with two different groups of friends bc I enjoyed the food so much. Both times, we got the midsized sashimi platter and an assortment of appetizers. The sashimi was outstanding! Really top notch. The appetizers were mostly good. My only complaint was the shishito peppers were too saucy and slightly overcooked. The garlic edamame was excellent and the mixed tempura was really well done. Service was friendly and efficient.

Yelp
We are local customers and the owner and staff there have created such a warm and welcoming environment that our kids love to dine at. Their rolls are fresh and tasty, and I'm grateful for how accommodating they are to our preferences and allergens (they have Tamari for my gluten free peeps!). My husband and I looooove their DJ roll!

Yelp
I always order from here and the sushi has always been delicious. I usually order order take out from here but today was my first time dining in. I love that the place is not too crowded and it feels like a very laid back restaurant with not too much noise going on. It's nice that it's not in a crowded place like ktown is. I recommend this place so much if you live nearby. We ordered several rolls like the All Star roll, Party Rock roll, Forever Wonder Roll, and some udon. On a side note if you order the All Star Roll and aren't into spicy food, then you can ask with no jalapeño. We also got some takoyaki which is personally my favorite here. I love this place. It's such a hole in the wall.

Yelp
This Sushi Hon point * Was craving sushi and came into this place after reading great reviews about their service and food. For Yelp users, make sure to check in to get a free edamame appetizer! :) * 30 piece chef-mixed sashimi: presentation was dope! It came out in a huge oval shaped boat plate. Fresh thick slices of sashimi were placed on top of ice cubes and surrounded by daikon radish. The fish was fresh and pretty good, especially the salmon! * 12 piece nigiri: A nice addition to the chef's choice of sashimi. A little more rice than I'm used to... and definitely preferred just the sashimi. * Kushiyaki set: Really interesting appetizer. 4 skewers with a couple of beef chunks and salad. The chicken skewer was sweet and tasted soooo good! Their bacon wrapped asparagus skewers were unique and a nice addition. * Covid considerations: socially distanced tables inside and outside. Temperature checks are done before you can dine in. Employees wear masks. Sushi Hon definitely satisfied my sushi cravings. Maybe I'll come back to check out the other things they have to offer :)

Yelp
The sushi is as amazing. The fish is fresh, the portions are generous, and the staff is incredible.

Yelp
Came here for dinner the other night. Found parking surprisingly easy on Olympic. We didn't make reservations but just had to wait 5 or so minutes. They have tables outside the restaurant with heat lamps and a tent. They had bottles of sanitizer on every table. The sushi here was good. Got the crispy spicy salmon, yellowtail citrus sashimi, and the Drunken Tiger roll. The quality was pretty good. A lot of people were here so that's a good sign, a lot of people ordering takeout, someone was having a graduation dinner here. The service was a little questionable when we came here, though. It took a long time to get our food and they forgot about 2 of the rolls we ordered. Good sushi if you want to order takeout or if you're in town craving some. They played fun party music outside.

Yelp
Went for a friends birthday! We were able to make reservations for 8. We couldn't be seated together, but they were able to set 2 tables of 4 side by side with a gap between tables to follow COVID protocols. They also have outdoor dining at this time. The waiters were very helpful, polite, and service was quick despite it being busy. My gf and I ordered a number of things on the menu. My favorite was the mentaiko pasta 10/10 would recommend it was creamy and portion size was good enough for my gf and I to share in addition to sushi. My second favorite was the toro. It was fresh and it would just melt in my mouth. Everything else we ordered was also very delicious. Didn't take a picture of it but we also got takoyaki, and baked mussels that were very good appetizers. Overall experience was very good. Definitely would recommend coming here if you're in the area.

Yelp
Delish, quick and it hit all the right spots. Post graduation where we were parched and hungry for hours and nearing 10pm, we needed sustenance. Called to ask if they had uni and they did - bingo. We ordered and 20 minutes later, we got our grub. Everything was fresh and yummy. The roll was a slam dunk - Truffle Maker had a hint of truffle that wasn't overwhelming but flavorful and accented by the ikura. Thoroughly enjoyed and they give you edamame as an appetizer if you check in. Loved it - thanks!

Yelp
The parking isn't very convenient because you pretty much have to find street parking. As far as the food goes, I will say that the sashimi fish quality is pretty good. The rolls, on the other hand, were mostly very overpowered with sauce. The sweetness of the sauce was pretty much all I could taste. One of the rolls I ordered, which doesn't have sauce on it, was really bland.

Yelp
I had a strong craving for sushi, and came across an ad from Sushi Hon on IG. They were offering a "VACCINE" bundle which consisted of a huge sushi platter of 20 nigiri pieces and 2 premium rolls, plus 2 appetizers, and bottle of sake - all for $100. WHAT A STEAL!!! LOCATION - This small restaurant is situated on the intersection of a major street, so there is plenty parking (even on the weekend). SERVICE - Staff were all super friendly. Greeted us the minute we entered. All took COVID seriously by wearing masks, including the chefs in the back. I felt safe. FOOD - This was my first time ever ordering a sushi platter from anywhere, and the VACCINE bundle did not dissappoint (how relevant is the name even). Everything was fresh and delicious!!! Even though it was to-go, you can still taste the quality. My favorite by far had to be the Toro Nigiri. It was buttery and melted right in my mouth. Aside from the sushi, you also get to choose two appetizers (baked mussels, karage, edamame, tempura). We got the mussels and edamame, and both were tasty!! And you can't eat sushi without drinking some SAKE right? That comes with the bundle too!! It's funny how it came in a bag though..? The entire bundle is enough to feed 2-3 people, I would say. OVERALL - I highly recommend this Japanese spot. Do your part and support this small business by ordering yourself a Vaccine Bundle. Your tummy can thank me later! =P

Yelp
I haven't had sushi for a year since the lock down. I've ordered cooked items from Japanese restaurants to support local, but Sushi is one of those things that I would much rather have at the restaurant for peak freshness. This was my first sushi experience in a year and it didn't disappoint. The rolls were beautiful with bright colors, and well sized with balanced flavors. Soo yummy. They follow covid protocols. Staff wear masks and they have seating outside and now distanced seating indoors. staff was attentive and very friendly. Just bring a jacket if seating outside. There are heaters that help but if you normally get cold easily a jacket will help with your comfort. Great experience overall. I would definitely be back again.

Yelp
I'm basically a seal - all I eat is seafood. I was craving sushi and happened to find this spot buried in my bookmarks. I'm so glad that I spent my evening waking up after a nightshift dining here. So good! Sushi for breakfast. Ktown is typically not known for their sushi, but if you're in the neighborhood and craving to get your fix, Sushi Hon won't disappoint. Atmosphere: It's your typical quaint, quiet sushi restaurant! Minimal decor, simple interior. Service: The servers here were sooo friendly and attentive to my friend and I. They made plenty of recommendations when we asked them what type of fish was good here, and the food came out quickly as well. Presentation: I was sold by the presentation of the food here! The garnish and flowers - everything was plated so daintily on the plate, the fish was obviously so fresh and colorful - sushi is not only a gustatory experience but an aesthetic one as well. You won't be disappointed by how beautiful the nigiri is here. Flavor: All of the selection here was fresh and delicious. The vibrant taste of each curated nigiri was so pleasant - this was definitely on par with some of the omakase restaurants that I've been to. Parking: We found street parking nearby, but I don't know if there's a lot that you can park behind the building. Pricing: We spent about $100/person, so this definitely is up there with some higher-end sushi restaurants, but this place is definitely worth hitting up.

Yelp
Decided to try this place out because of all the reviews and we were so happy to see the reviews were accurate for this new spot! Outdoor seating is limited so make a reservation to ensure getting a seat. Not much foot traffic along the seating area either so it's nice and not too constricting. Decided to try she agadashi tofu and shishito peppers to start. Very traditional and well prepared. We gave them both 5/5. Next was the spicy tuna on crispy rice. Tuna was at the perfect heat level and the crispy rice was crisp on the outside and still moist in the center. 5/5 Then we tried a couple rolls. The All Star was amazing. Spicy tuna and shrimp tempura inside with yellow tail on top. 5/5 and our favorites roll. Lastly our absolute favorite and the recommendation of the staff was the Chi toro sushi. Amazing! Buttery soft and melted in your mouth! 100 out of 5! All in all our new favorite sushi spot!
