"There might be more experimental and fancier places to grab sushi in DFW, but Sushi Sake is the spot to go when you’re craving a traditional setting. Guests eat together on shared dining tables, and if you reserve a large table in the back for a special event, you’re required to remove your shoes and sit on the floor—it’s a warm, inviting group dynamic. Sushi Sake is home to the freshest cuts of salmon and tuna sashimi, their quality of fish is excellent, and they pride themselves on importing the highest-grade sushi for the best pieces of sashimi and traditional rolls. Love this spot! When you hit the dining room, you get taken away to the other side of the world. Cool low tables accommodate 6-people for a semi private intimate experience. Jeb was a fantastic waitress, super attentive and food came out quickly and was great tasting. Definitely put this on your calendar to visit.

02/21/2025: Second time here, we waited for more than an hour for two people food. People around us who arrived at the same time or after all got their food...this is crazy ------ I was kinda worried after seeing the bad reviews. But the experience was fantastic 😍 we didn't wait much and the food was served pretty quickly. The sake was amazing!!! I don't like alcohol much but really enjoyed the wildflower sake we ordered.

Google
The best sushi experience for the money. My wife is Japanese and she loves this place for the value, variety and experience. You can go to super expensive sushi places, but why?

Selina Wang

Google
We went Friday night, it was really busy. We waited 30 minutes for our food, but it was worth it. The ingredients were surprisingly fresh! I highly suggest the sweet shrimp and tsubugai.

Google
Food was good. Service was very nice. Sushi and sashimi sampler that we ordered was delicious. They do have a group private room that you will have to call in advance to book.

I've been to sushi across the US and I've never encountered a place so authentic. From the service to the quality and presentation. This place really goes all out. Is say it's a little pricy but when thinking about how much we got and the freshness and incredible taste it was worth every penny. They start you off with nice hot towels to wash your hands from there i knew we were in for a special treat. I had 1 bad roll out of the 9 or so we ordered..Do not order the crawfish roll other than that, sit back and enjoy. If you like sushi or sashimi/nigiri you will not leave disappointed. We got tuna, yellowtail, Eel, spicy tuna rainbow roll, spicy tuna roll.

Google
This place is an enigma. The food i decent, good in some respects, mediocre in others. They have a glass partition, almost like a cage, as you walk in where you are separated from everyone in the restaurant. Not a very inviting scene as you walk in, the parking situation is atrocious. They told my mom that I couldn't join them at the table after they had sat down since I was still on my way to the restaurant. They need more servers, about 15 minutes went by before one came by the table and even took my drink order, let alone meal order. This place in a sense is "doing to much," it seems they have been gaslit into thinking they are the best and most desired sushi place around. believe me they aren't. So many petty rules for some mediocre food and service. Don't come here, go to a restaurant that will value your time and money.

Google
Very private, perfect for date night. No windows, very relaxed atmosphere. Good food, clean place. Only four stars because servers are very pushy and a little rude.

Yelp
Warning that there was already a waiting list before the restaurant opened. I visited on a Saturday evening so take into mind how busy the restaurant can be. My experience at Sushi Sake was enjoyable! I enjoyed all the foods my family and I ordered - koika kara age (fried squid), shrimp tempura udon, sushi & sashimi combo, sushi a combo, and volcano sushi à la carte. Everything tasted delicious, but the volcano sushi was very rich and heavy from the mayo that it was difficult to taste the actual fish. Service was great! The server was polite and patient, answered our many questions, and kind. Also, the interior looks pretty cool! Overall, it was a good experience. Food was mid-good, but be aware of how long you may have to wait if you choose to visit on a weekend.

Yelp
So happy I found this via Google in Dallas when I was visiting for a the weekend. I convinced my dad (who is adverse to all sea food) to go with me and we had the best time. My dad ordered the pork katsu while I enjoyed extremely fresh sushi. I'm glad there were options for him to order from - it made the experience very enjoyable for us both. I had my dad try a piece of nigiri and he was really surprised at the flavor and freshness. This was some quality sushi (and I eat sushi so much and this was one of the best places I have had a hand roll). If I am ever in Dallas again in the future I would consider coming back doing an omakase here. I also enjoyed the ambience. I felt like I was in Japan (never been) but the vibes really were great ans I imagine the experience would be very similar. The service was excellent! Overall, I loved this sushi spot and if it were in my home time I would be a frequent guest! I totally understand why people line up outside and wait for a seat inside. I did wait about 45 minutes to an hour for a party of two but it was totally fine because the experience really made up for it. Such a hidden gem!

Emily M.

Yelp
Sushi Sake is one of the BEST sushi spots in Dallas... hands down! I love how fresh their fish is; that in combination with the ambiance always makes me feel like I've been transported to Japan. The service is always great and the nigiri in particular is delicious. Here is what I had and ratings: - Sushi B combination (10/10) - Spicy scallop roll (10/10) One thing to keep in mind... my recommendation is to get there RIGHT when it opens to get your name on the list for a table. Otherwise, you could be looking at a long wait. I'll forever be grateful to my friend who told me about this place. Long story short - if you haven't been to Sushi Sake yet and you're in the Dallas area, it's time to plan your visit!

Michael K.

Yelp
I have tasted sushi all around the world including in some of the best places in Tokyo, Kyoto, LA, and NYC and I will say that Sushi Sake is on par with some of the best I have had. The sushi rice served in my Chirashi bowl was perfect in both texture and flavor with authentic toppings such as pickled carrots and mushrooms. Their assortment of fish was excellent and all of their options tasted extremely fresh. We ordered salmon sashimi and salmon nigiri along with the spicy tuna roll and all of these choices were truly amazing. The restaurant was full, even during lunch time but service was still good. I would highly recommend Sushi Sake for truly phenomenal sushi.

Mark D.

Yelp
The three of us ordered chicken karaage, shishito peppers, chirashi dinner, sushi/sashimi dinner, salmon skin handroll, and o-toro nigiri. The chicken karaage and shishito peppers were both well prepared and tasty but were very small portion size. They were not suitable for sharing purposes. Sushi and sashimi dinner had good fresh fish and the presentation was beautiful. The better value, though, was the chirashi dinner plate. It appeared to have as much variety and similar amount of fish but was 30% cheaper. (Normally the chirashi is served on a bed of rice in a bowl but at this place, it was served on a sushi plate, which wasn't a bad thing since you don't have to flip around the food). The salmon skin roll was average and the o-toro was good but not worth the price. For example, two small nigiri pieces were more expensive than the entire chirashi dinner. The service was spotty. They were clearly short-handed and we had to wait awhile to get the server's attention. Overall, we were impressed with the quality of the food, the presentation, as well as the great atmosphere.

Julie L.

Yelp
Food quality was pretty good but the service was mediocre. The menu is also very limited. I'd recommend trying it out!

Phi H.

Yelp
How is this only my first time here?! Glad my friends recommended this hidden gem. It's tucked away off a near Campbell and an office building. But you'll be glad you found it. It's a nice, cozy, warm dining atmosphere. Service was stellar! Staff is well trained. Warm towel is provided to wipe your hands. Servers don't miss a beat here. We had so many things from the small menu. Not overwhelming with so many options. What they have in their menu are excellent options. Best thing we ordered was the sweet shrimp! Shrimp heads were deep fried, extra crispy, meaty, juicy, and so freaking delicious. Plump shrimp tail sushi with a hint of wasabi sandwiched between the shrimp and rice. I said it was so good the sushi heard me and asked did I like it. I sure did!

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place for a long time because of the crowds they draw. I have come here in the past when the wait was well over an hour and given up. The popularity of this place made me want in even worse! This past week I finally had a perfect opportunity and got in! The decor and ambiance is classic Japanese sushi den. I live that so that is a us in my mind. All good, right? Well, read on... Service is PAINFULLY slow at this place. Like first, you wonder if your waitperson knows you have been seated, then after you order, you wonder if they lost your order kind of slow. The food was just okay. We ordered Salmon Sushimi, Gyoza, California Roll, Louisiana Roll, and a Dynamite. The Salmon was outstanding, and everything else was at a level I would never order again, but not horrible, except for the Dynamite that was in my opinion aweful. I have seen pricing discussed in reviews. While not horrible or prohibitive, they are on the pricey side for Richardson. The most poignant thing i can say about their pricing is that I have had much better tasting and equal to or better quality for considerably less. But again, I am not a bargain hunter on Sushi, nor do I recommend being one! Overall, my experience was just ok. While I might return (though doubtful) I would never wait to eat here, nor would I order anything I had on this visit again except for the Salmon.

Yelp
This restaurant is definitely underrated on Yelp! It's one of the best sushi + izakaya Japanese restaurants I've ever been in Texas and I'll keep going back for sure! This is not a formal omakase restaurant but they offer a lot of traditional/popular Japanese family-style dishes (from small plates, entrees, rice, noodles, to desserts). Aside from their signature menu, Sushi Sake also has a separate sushi menu that allows you to order the pieces you like directly from the Chefs. There are two types of seating options: counter seats and tatami table seatings. We took the former option and we really enjoyed it cuz you get to watch the chefs making yummy sushi!! All the seafood and shared plates we tried here were fresh and reasonably priced. Some of my recommendations include: Hotategai Betteryaki, Chirashi Ju, Chawanmushi, Hotate sushi, salmon sashimi (huuuge piece - so fulfilling!), and Niku Tofu. Lastly, the only reason I'm leaving one star out is bc they don't seem to manage reservations well. We called several times prior to our visit and no one answered the phone. So we did walk in - it worked for us bc it was a weekday evening but I'd love them to work on their online reservation system for future bookings.

Bill U.

Yelp
We returned after a couple of years because of food quality, service issues, and cleanness. I had to go in to place the order as they did not pickup the phone after calling several times. After being told it will be ready in 20 minutes I returned only to be told they we're working on it. Several steps circling the restaurant (thanks for helping me get my steps in for the day) for over a half an hour. I returned home and the family was pleased with the order and we enjoyed my daughter's bday meal.

Yelp
During a business trip to Texas, I visited this Japanese restaurant recommended by a local client. I was quite surprised by the lively atmosphere of the place. At the sushi counter, a Japanese chef crafted the sushi authentically, which was impressive. They offer a reasonably priced nigiri set, but ordering à la carte can be just as enjoyable. Besides sushi, the menu includes a variety of Japanese snacks like karaage (fried chicken). While the service felt a bit rushed at times, as the waiters were quick to clear plates, they were still courteous and attentive. Overall, I was very satisfied with the experience.

Raymond C.

Yelp
Super cute upscale sushi restaurant! I came for my birthday celebration with my parents and everything we had was so good! My dad was raving about this place so we decided to check it out. I can totally see why he loves this place, the fish is all great quality. I thought the unagi and the sweet shrimp are must haves at sushi sake! Service was great, waitress was very attentive and food came out considerably quickly

Eli T.

Yelp
The service at this restaurant was fantastic. The aesthetic is also very clean and simple, very fitting for a date night. The dumplings were pretty good but the sauce could have been less oily. The sushi sampler was a bit disappointing because the tuna and salmon has an acquired and bitter flavor. The california was pretty good but not worth the price. The tempura shrimp was amazing and went well with the udon soup! I would definitely come back just for the soup. The Spider and Tempura rolls were also delicious. Overall this was a good place but a bit too pricey for the quality of the fish.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
We had a group of 8 so we had a reservation to sit in the back tables. U have to take off your shoes to eat here since u sit on the floor. I really appreciate that there is space under the table for your legs to hang, since it makes it easier to sit during your stay. We started off with gyoza, fried oysters and miso soup which were great with our hot sake. We had a variety of sushi- rainbow, salmon, spicy tuna, yellowtail and eel-they were all delicious. It all tasted very fresh and presentation was beautiful. Service was great as well, I definitely recommend!

Sophia T.

Yelp
Most of the time when you come around 6-7 pm there will be a wait on the weekend. There are tables in the far back but no kids are allowed and there is an automatic tip included regardless of the size of your party. There is bar seating too right by the sushi chefs where you can chat and watch them make orders. The sushi tastes very fresh and there is a great selection. The salmon rose added a nice pop of color to our dish and we always ask for the fish bone to be fried again. We usually order from the menu on the chalkboard or sushi menu. Spider roll is great! The servers are nice and attentive. It is a bit loud in the inside but you can still have conversations with your party.

Sameet R.

Yelp
We tried this place on a Friday night and seated up sushi bar within a few minutes without any reservations. The sashimi was good because the fish was fresh. My favorite was the amberjack (kampachi). Unfortunately, at market price of $50 for 4 pieces the chutoro was highly disappointing. Our sushi chef had a huge order before us, and I think there was some misunderstanding so he had to redo the whole order since he added rice and the order was for sashimi. My issue with the chutoro was the pieces were sliced sloppily. The biggest problem here is the service, since our waiter just disappeared after telling us to put the order on the ticket. We had to flag down several people just to get water and get our bill which took forever. Of course I did leave a standard tip, but not sure I'll go back again.

Victoria N.

Yelp
I have been going to Sushi Sake for almost 20 years. It is always fantastic. The sushi is fresh and delicious. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. I love the lucky cats. I usually sit under them at the sushi bar. It's lovely. You can't beat their sushi specials. I always order off the chalk board.

Mary V.

Yelp
There's this wonderful sushi master name Otake who is a true artesian. It's just amazing watching him work and you can tell he genuinely cares about what he does. He actually scores the sushi/sashimi to enhance the flavor. Honestly try everything because this is truly one of the few authentic sushi locations. If you come in large groups, they have a beautiful area reserved where you take off your shoes and sit down to enjoy the atmosphere. My personal favorite is the agedashi tofu. Their broth for the tofu is so flavorful in contrast with the tofu. The tiny amount of ginger hidden with the tofu just warms you up.

Faraz N.

Yelp
Came with work team. Server had horrible attitude and kept interrupting. Not coming to take attitude.

Jason C.

Yelp
This is hard to write. We've eaten here once a week for over 8 years and it feels like home to us. In the hundreds of meals here, we've never met the owner until tonight when she kicked up out after finishing our meal. Apparently, she needed our table and kicked us out before we finished. I'm in shock. I've never been treated like this at a restaurant, let alone one where I'm a regular.

Toshi L.

Yelp
I came here for lunch on Wednesday. It was crowed but no wait time. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly and nice Japanese decor inside. I had tempura zaru udon. The udon noodles were very good, the texture was great!

Nu N.

Yelp
This restaurant is near my work so I chose it. Foods are okay. But the service is extremely bad. Never come back again.

Bui Thi SaMy S.

Yelp
Food is so delicious and fresh. Staffs are great. You should try it and will go back soon

Harvey S.

Yelp
This used to be the best sushi restaurant in Texas. But it has deteriorated badly. Not only is the quality of the food taken a dramatic dive, the service, which was never particularly great, is now awful, and rude. They've adopted an arrogant and rude reservation policy. There are other good Japanese restaurants in the area that have better food and much better service without all the hassle this place cause just to get a table. I recommend everyone stay away and not waste their time and money here.

Maserati C.

Yelp
the first time i came here, i had a bad experience because I ordered a dish from the menu. the dish that came out looked like what I had ordered (chirashi ju) but fancier (uni) than I expected for the price ($24). i was slightly on guard but thought nothing of it. later the bill comes, and the dish i ordered seemed way pricier than i was expecting. i was shocked and asked to speak to a waitress. she said that was what i ordered, so i decided to ask for a menu. i could not find the item at all. i explained this situation to the manager, and apparently she thought i ordered an off menu item? keep in mind the other menu was not the same style of menu as they give their customers. they did honor the original ($24) pricing, but seeing how upset the waitress was at our party was upsetting. i say this story, because even though this did happen, i still really enjoy the food here. usually restraunts tend to go downhill in flavour overtime, but i still think they provide a good value for what you're getting esp the chirashi ju. obviously there are better but they are a drive. this place does get really busy, but with 2 people i have always been sat at the restaurant. they also have a dress code, which i did not know about before and have been breaking for awhile, but they'll still serve u. also, if you sit at the bar, they'll give you oranges for dessert! tldr: hit or miss - its more about if the food tastes worth it to u

Angeline C.

Yelp
This has been my go to Japanese Restaurant for many years. Great food, great service and great ambience.

Dania E.

Yelp
My family and I have been eating there for years. It was one of our favorite places. The food has always been excellent. We recently went for dinner and had a terrible experience. My family usually puts in an order and if we are still hungry we'll add a few more dishes. As we were deciding what additional dishes to add the owner of the restaurant came up to our table and stated "we had to order then and there or leave". We told her we just needed a few minutes, she told us "we needed to hurry or leave because people were waiting for tables." At that point we decided it was best to leave. We won't be going back.

William C.

Yelp
Its pricey but everything you get is high quality and delicious. We ordered a variety of sashimi including otoro ($18 for 4 pieces) and ebi shrimp (13 for 2 nigiri) and both were amazing. The otoro slices were some of the largest ive had which made me feel more justified in the price, and literally melted in my mouth. Ebi shrimp is one of my personal favorites and it was so sweet. All the other sashimi were incredibly fresh as well. We got a spicy tuna roll just to add some rice, and although it was more expensive then a normal sushi spot, you can tell its a higher quality roll as they dont just mash up tuna with soicy mayo and toss it in a roll. They use whole chunks of tuna and the spice comes from actual red peppers which u can see in the roll. We finished w fried tempura ice cream which im addicted too. I love the ambiance of this restaurant from the bar to the square tables, it gives modern traditional. Theres other cool decorations around like a lot of neko cats and barrels by the bathroom. Our waitress was a cute old lady who gave us great recommendations and checked in a lot.

Reba G.

Yelp
Wow. I had no idea this place existed until a friend planned a dinner here. Your whole party has to be there, or they will not seat you. The ambiance was perfect, so I can see why this place is always packed. I got to try the chicken kara age and the pork dumplings. They both were so full of flavor and really good. I ended up ordering the volcano roll with scallops. It was probably the freshest sushi I've had ever. I definitely want to come back and try other things.

Robert H.

Yelp
Once again, here you find the best sushi in Dallas. The Tofu app is always fun because it's alive, look closely! I enjoyed the unagi as well as the tempura roll. Sit at the sushi bar for the complete experience and watch the show. Please Don't change your attention to detail, you obviously have a following!

Lauren N.

Yelp
I haven't been to any restaurant BAD SERVICE like this place. The owner was so RUDE, always with an angry face, she didn't respect customer made I feel like I was there ASKING for food. We found this restaurant as recommend the food was so good and fresh but when we got there the owner ridiculously rejected us at the entire door just because we were not enough four people in the waiting list (we were there at 5 pm to get in the waiting list) and she was yelling us to get out if we don't want we can leave she doesn't care.NO RESPECT AT ALL. We got out and I was embarrassed to all of the Customers waiting in the cold wind outside. NEVER EVER COME BACK AGAIN

Foo B.

Yelp
Sushi in Dallas is not very good compared to LA or Seattle, so the bar is low here - and this place is better than most in Dallas. The proportions of sushi on the sushi platters here is "ok" - on a 14 piece platter, just one single piece was salmon. What was there was mostly fresh and tasty. Some of the pieces were a bit dried out, but above average for Dallas sushi. Two complaints - (1) you have to share your seating with other people (sit next to strangers) unless you sit at the bar. (2) It's really loud in this place - there is no sound dampening and it sounds like an echo chamber. My ears literally ring because it only takes one loud person to ruin the experience (Note to the owner: Look at sound dampening panels to easily fix this). Because of the above, it is NOT a romantic place or my idea of an intimate date night - which is weird since they don't allow children. I could barely hear my date talk because it was so noisy. So I'm probably going to look for a place that has similar quality but isn't an echo chamber and where I can hear what my date is saying and not the loud people three tables over.

Fatima K.

Yelp
I may change my review after the next visit, as this is definitely a place I would come back to with family and friends. The outside and dining areas are stylish, note they do not seat any parties until everyone is there and they make that very clear with a sign on their door, masks are recommended. The seating is traditional and lighting is perfect for an evening out. Our waitress may not have been having the best of days, she commented why my friend asked for silverware and used both the forks that she had brought for the table to use. My friend apologized and still the meal continued with additional awkward moments here and there. We didn't let it bother us as she was attentive and she seemed to have lightened up by the end of the meal. The chefs are very accommodating, not on the menu but I was able to get a cucumber roll with salmon, pictured here. The shrimp dumplings were tasty and the spicy tuna quality was more than satisfactory. Will be back!

James W.

Yelp
Sushi was very good tonight. They always have bigger rolls than their competitors. All the staff was very attentive and great. Nice place to go in middle of week. Crowds not so large.

Maria T.

Yelp
Sushi Sake has been my favorite restaurant and I've been a regular for 15+ years. Unfortunately tonight the manager would not comp a half eaten Louisiana roll which had a spoiled piece in the middle. She treated me like I was trying to get a free roll and told me she didn't care if I ever came back or if I had been coming for 20+ years. Instead of taking an $8 loss she chose to lose a lifelong customer. She raised her voice and kept interrupting me. I was forced to pay for spoiled fish and was treated like a criminal and liar. This is probably the 100th time I've ordered this roll from Sushi Sake, again, the middle piece tasted rotten and I had to spit it out. The server tried to change the narrative that they cannot comp a roll I don't like. That is NOT what I communicated, I clearly stated the middle piece was rotten. Horrible customer service, will not be coming back.

Tim V.

Yelp
Very "authentic" sushi restaurant. Good service and I would say a good but not great quality of seafood, and for the price it's about where it should be. I would definitely return and would recommend

David P.

Yelp
Sitting at the sushi bar watching the artistry of the sushi chefs is like being in Tokyo. The food is delicious and fresh. The service is discreet -- like being in Tokyo, the customer is there to witness a performance as well as to have a great meal. The prices are very fair. 5 stars for sure!

Christine L.

Yelp
Something's changed and not for the better. We got there before 5pm on Friday, was on the list first and asked for the sushi bar and got the crappiest seats on the sushi bar, the ones near the kitchen, where the sushi chef is busy with helping a lot of people. It's louder and not pleasant at all. We asked for omakase, to which our waitress said there was no omakase. I've been coming here for years and have always gotten omakase. I regularly spend $100-130 here on omakase. There were 3 of us, so they lost out on 3 omakase orders, and we came hungry. We ended up just ordering a few pieces of sushi. My spicy scallop roll was over mayo'd and not spicy. The rest of my nigiri was fine, but lacked the creativity you get with omakase. My total bill was like $50 so, good for me, I guess, since I thought I'd spend at least $120. But the overall experience has cooled my ardor for this place. This used to be my favorite sushi restaurant, I get sushi like this 2-3 times a month. Now, I'll come if someone else wants to. Otherwise, I go to Arika Back. A no stress dining experience where you can make reservations and the service is fantastic and not rushing you out the door. Oh! And the food is as good or better. Maybe I'll try this place again on a week night when it's not crazy, but the drive to get here and getting the worst seats when I make the effort to get here before everyone else makes my business feel unnecessary.

Megan F.

Yelp
The best sushi in DFW I think! It's so fresh and the ambience is lovely. You must get the gyoza and the aji fish in sashimi form. It's on the specials board and it's served with the most delicious sauce.

Hummus P.

Yelp
Came here with an amazing friend of mine. Upon pulling up to Sushi Sake I was a little skeptical because it is sort of situated in an odd spot. However, when I started walking up to the building the ambiance was exquisite. The trees in front were lovely and the decor inside was aesthetically pleasing. Once we got situated the service was very accommodating. Our server handed us a warm towel and asked us right away what we would like. The menu was a bit confusing to the eyes of a 25 year old teenager. It was a fairly smaller menu with simpler sushi rolls than other restaurants I have been to. We sat at the sushi bar so it was a very fun experience with the chefs making the food right In front of you. It is a perfect spot for a date: Tinder date, 5 year relationship date, Newley weds, 7 month relationship, or even a sugar daddy date(I don't discriminate) We ordered the seaweed salad, tuna roll, spicy tuna rolls and veggie sushi. The sushi was very simple but good. The spicy tuna rolls could have been a bit spicer and the ginger was excellent. At the end they gave us a juicy orange which was a perfect palette cleanser and a refreshing end to the experience.

Yelp
Back in town for a retro weekend to enjoy the holiday season and Sushi Sake was our first destination on our trip! 5pm opening time and we were there, sushi bar seats please! Freshest quality fish , very talented chefs and staff too. Started out with thinly sliced yellow tail garnished with chopped fresh jalepenos. Shrimp shumai with spicy mustard are must.only 3 to an order so we argue on who enjoys 2 each. Tuna sashimi from Hawaii melts on your mouth tender and flavorful. Caterpillar eel and spider roll always winners. Shrimp tempura comes with various veggies and I love the tempura broccoli. Complimentary finale always half an orange and perfect way to cleanse your palate. Arigato Team Sushi Sake!

Bill Z.

Yelp
Cancelled my wife's dinner party without notification, said they called but they did not

Jamie P.

Yelp
One of the better sushi spots in the area! I enjoyed the Agedashi Tofu, Kaki Fry, and Chirashi -- they paired perfectly with the Asahi! The chicken kara age was a bit questionable though... I wasn't a fan of the seasoning, and it wasn't crispy when it arrived at our table. A downside is that they don't offer reservations, so the wait can be brutal around dinnertime (especially on the weekends). Try to come early and put your name down as soon as possible!

Jessica L.

Yelp
Sushi sake is honestly the best value and price for high quality sushi in the dallas area. I would come here everyday if I could LOL We had a number of different appetizers, from the niku tofu, yakitori, chicken kaarage, to the hamachi kama - the hamachi kama was AMAZING and for $13-14 there was so much meat and suuper fresh. Niku tofu was also one of my favorites but personally I would pass on the yakitori and the kaarage. Moving onto the sushi - wow - the prices are so good, its usually around $5-7 dollars for two pieces of nigiri, and mind you the quality of the fish is superb. We got an assortment of nigiri from hamachi, uni, chutoro, and others and my favs had to be the uni and kanpachi we had. The rolls here are also super good and the rice to fish ratio as well as the seasoning and texture of the rice, fish, and seaweed was great! We had the negihama and the scallop roll - I could probably eat like 3-4 orders of those. SO good. Honestly I think I would come here over uchi if we're just comparing the price/value because for the price they give you really generous portions of fish and the quality, and service is really nice! Will say its more casual than other places, so if you're looking for a more upscale fancy experience i would still choose uchi - but definitely check out this place for a casual dinner or lunch! Our waitress was also super kind and sweet. Overall 10/10 experience :)

Yelp
I have had sushi in Japan, in Hawaii, in California, and in Dallas. Sushi Sake in my opinion is the equivalent of any fine sushi restaurant in the world.

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed their nigiri. Took me by surprise that they kept their basic roll to what I remember from the early 2000s! Nowadays most restaurants want to spice up the Spider roll and Louisiana roll, and some just didn't hit right. I'm so glad I was able to revisit this place. My fave were the nigiri and agedashi tofu. My least favorite was the waitress. I get it... the reviews are mainly about their service being meh. I can see why, but it didn't bother me as much. Mine was mainly asking me to not touch the menu and leave it on the table when I'm eating, but the waitress ended up taking it away and would bring it back when we are ready to order the next round. (She said the owner is picky about menu.) Overall, I still enjoyed my visit.

Yelp
Very nice place. Friendly and assertive service. I ordered the sushi sampler. It was good no substitutes tho! I really wanted spicy tuna. But I loved it!

Yelp
I haven't been back to Sushi Sake for probably 7-8 years, yet this place is still the same today. The sushi and sashimi are fresh. Deliciously satisfying as always and excellent service. Thank you so much!

Yelp
We visited this place recently for dinner. We were seated relatively quickly and the place was packed. Food is okay. I'm not sure it's quite worth the price but the food was good. I'd come back from their bentos since they didn't serve that for dinner. We had a toddler in tow and the staff was kind and courteous especially when we changed our minds 2 or 3 times on wanting a high chair or not. To be specific, our toddler kept changing her mind. Our waitress seemed kind of new. Kept on putting hot or stuff that's easily spillable in front of the toddler but she meant well enough. All in all, a good experience with the food and seating. When we paid, it was hard to find the waitress to come take our credit card but the bus guy was kind of enough to take it for us as he saw we were waiting for so long.

Yelp
Really good fresh sushi rolls here. Make sure you make reservations and your entire party is there on time. They are strict with incomplete parties. We started off with some karaage chicken and omg it was so fresh and tasty. The pork dumplings were fantastic as well. I ordered the spider roll and it was really good. The crab meat was really fresh. I tried the other rolls here and they were good. Definitely a great place to get your sushi fix.
