Sushidelic Review - Soho - New York - The Infatuation

"On our ratings scale, there is no failing grade. Any points are good points, and every restaurant is good to some degree, even if it’s not the absolute best. We stand by this, although it puts us in an awkward position when it comes to Sushidelic, a Soho-by-way-of-Times-Square restaurant that feels like a tedious lucid dream. We’ve given this kaleidoscopic, kawaii-inspired sushi spot a 1.0, which means we need to find a way to justify a full point. That’s harder than it sounds, but let’s see what we can do. The decor is cool, and that’s probably why most people come here. Sushidelic’s interior is a sea of electric pink and purple, with oversized tubes of lipstick and disembodied cat heads hanging from the ceiling. In the center of the room, a conveyor belt tugs an array of shiny baubles. Up front, a host in full kawaii regalia greets guests in a way that feels vaguely apologetic. From the moment you walk in, the place feels oddly somber, like a lifeless diorama. It’s not as fun as it should be, even once the food starts trickling in. Sushidelic serves two nearly identical six-course menus, one for $85 and another for $95, and the nicest thing we can say about them is that they do, eventually, arrive. After roughly 30 minutes, during which you’ll begin to wonder if you’re an apparition who can no longer be seen by the living, you’ll receive your first course: a macaron filled with tuna tartare. Depending on how game you are, this may sound groundbreaking and enticing or gimmicky and off-putting. Ultimately, it’s neither. Although the macaron itself is quite good. We’d say it’s all downhill after the macaron, but the experience isn’t as thrilling as a trip down a hill. It’s more of a long, flat march with occasional and unexpected visits from a server who comes bearing things like a plate of cooked salmon described as “sashimi,” and a knob of California roll topped with a tangle of imitation crab dressed in watery mayo. Opt for the more expensive menu, and you’ll be awarded a final course of stale chirashi crammed into a parfait glass with soggy potato chips and a glob of wasabi. As a rule of thumb, spend as little as you can at Sushidelic. An $85 sake tasting might sound tempting, until you realize that it only consists of four glasses, and three of the four glasses are available à la carte, with a cumulative price of $41. Is the final glass worth $44? It very well could be. But your server won’t tell you anything about it, and there’s no evidence that this sake or any of the others, which seem to arrive at random, are intended to be paired with any of the dishes. Look at what we’ve become. We’re complaining about the sake pairing at a place where you’re welcomed by a cartoon cat with its tongue sticking out. Does anyone expect this restaurant to be a life-changing culinary experience? Probably not. Sushidelic just wants you to have fun. But what are the odds of having fun at a spot with steep prices, bleak food, and service so absent it'll give you attachment issues? Maybe 1%, depending on your enthusiasm for pink decor. If anything, that would translate to a rating of .01, but we'll be generous and round up." - Bryan Kim

This place was so fun!! The place is just dripping with personality. The atmosphere and decor/art made it feel like we were transported to Japan. The hosts and staff were all so nice and genuinely excited to be there. Food was colorful and avante garde. We got the sushi tower, which came with a wheel of sauces that were meant to be paired and experimented with. The food was good, but the ambiance and experience was the real showstopper.

This place was fantastic. Great value, amazing atmosphere and delicious sushi. Small cozy place with incredible artwork and decor. So much to look at. The sushi was very good. Service was attentive and polite. Would make another trip to Soho just for this restaurant.

I don’t know where to start? I will start by saying that’s a good thing. Super amazing restaurant will make you feel you’re not in New York City but out of this world. Very nice ambiance and there’s even a Dj who manages not to make the place too loud to enjoy. It’s a fusion between Lisa Frank and Japanese couture. You’ll be greeted by the most amazing staff who bring the Japanese vibe to life. The food was decadent and exotic which I’m not one to try new foods and like them. I loved them! Celebrated my birthday and the staff made sure to make it memorable! Origato 💕

I absolutely loved this place. I went on a Sunday late afternoon and got the sushi tower and it was amazing. Drinks were good too. I love the decor and the staff were all so nice. They took pictures for us and were super friendly. Highly recommend trying them out!

So glad I got to experience this restaurant. Sushidelic has a really interesting atmosphere that is different from any restaurant I've ever visited. Very aesthetic and instagramable from the interior to the food. Most of the time when a restaurant puts this much effort into their vibe, the food suffers, but not here. I had several items from the menu and everything was delicious. I am immensely surprised by how rich and flavorful their miso soup is! The staff were also very attentive and friendly. My biggest concern was that the restaurant would be too overstimulating but I actually didn't think it was. The music wasn't too loud and there were no crazy flashing lights or anything inside the dining room. I definitely would come back here again.

I dined in recently at Sushidelic and had an excellent experience! The manager, bartender, and severs were super friendly and made my experience the best! Food, drinks, and dessert were all delicious!! I loved the Kawaii theme of the restaurant and enjoyed it a ton!

Google
What I actually experienced was even crazier than I anticipated. The restaurant is small, and features seating for perhaps 50 people. A hostess clad head to toe in cosplay quality Kawaii dress greeted us enthusiastically. As we were shown to our table, I noticed a Japanese style sushi conveyor belt, only there was no food on it. There was art. Above our heads, light fixtures were giant lipsticks, massive floating cute cat heads, and mirrors cut into the shape of clouds. Everything in here seemed to glow some color or the other, like you were about to have a meal at Willy Wonkas Japanese uncles house. The menu was a single sheet, and had all kinds of odd and interesting items. To make sure I got the full experience, I opted for the “Pure Imagination” omakase dinner. Glad I did that, because this has to be the most fun and immersive way to have dinner here. One course at a time, the kimono wearing server brought small plates that were neatly decorated with flakes, sauces and even rice in different colors. Each of these plates was kind of a work of art in itself. A plate with a potato monster, a metal carousel with sushi riding along. A sauce plate in the style and colors of a paint palette. The finale was an item called the Chirashi Parfait. It featured 18 different items, presented in the style of ice cream, but absolutely sushi. Radical. The cocktails were fun and they had many non alcoholic items as well. I got quite full and wondered how much more I may be able to handle, but decided to call it quits and be content with what I had eaten. Just before I requested my check, I noticed some boxes in a hallway. Inside clear bins, were those bears from the 6%DOKIDOKI store in Japan. I couldn’t believe it. I bought one as a souvenir but I have a very special little girl in mind that I think would love an Easter surprise. Overall the whole place was fun, I would recommend it to any sushi enthusiast in NYC, especially the adventurous and colorful of you. Considering the fun spirited theme of the place, I’m sure you can wear whatever you want in. You’ll be wearing a huge smile on your way out.

Google
Great sushi spot to come with your girlfriends. Ordered the spicy tuna and watermelon kiss and it was well worth it. The decorations and atmosphere was amazing. Food took long to serve though.

Yelp
The place was quite cute and the food presented was very well done and appealing. The food was better than expected. It was quiet on a Friday night but heard weekends are much busier. I did enjoy the quiet time as we were able to take in the ambiance and chat during our ladies night.

Yelp
Cool place if you're here to take pictures. That's about it. It seems like there was only one bartender staffing the whole place which is very understaffed for the size of the bar/restaurant, and drinks took a while to come out. Drinks were alright but pricy at 17-18 a cocktail. The food takes a decent bit of time to come out, and they forgot part of our order. It wasn't on the receipt, but still disappointing. We got the Sushi Tower which was a good amount of food for 2 people. The really annoying thing is that there is a conveyor belt, but it's rarely used for food. When your order is ready, a server tries to catch your attention and then puts the food on the conveyor, and it passes by you. It was insanely confusing because there's no signage or no way to tell who's food is who's until we asked for clarification. I wish they put a little sign with a name or something in front of the food, because the experience felt very disjointed. The quality was firmly meh. It's worse than just about every omakase place I've been to (even the ~$50 for 12 course places in NY), and the wagyu in the wagyu piece was cold (even though it appeared torched). Not a good sign if they pre-torch all the pieces ahead of time. If I wanted something fancy, I'd go to an omakase place, and if I wanted normal sushi, I'd go get normal sushi.

Yelp
We stopped in after some Saturday shopping for brunch and realized it was pop up day. There was a dj performing and the ambiance is really astonishing. Bright colorful fun and the trolley of treats food and coctails! We tried sesame rice crispy treats and milk bread sammies with strawberry whip and kiwi. The flavor dichotomy was great sweet and soft to crispy and savory. I tried a lavender martini that packed a punch. Wish we had access to a full menu but the whimsy of the spot was delightful

Yelp
What a fun and unique place! The hostess is dressed to match the hanging feline decor. Lighting is dark and the conveyor belt is used only to send out specific orders. It's not like regular conveyor belt sushi. The sushi tower was excellent for two people. The sushi was unique, fresh and creative. Our favorite was the Wagyu beef and uni. Outstanding. Service was incredibly attentive and accurate. They are also super friendly and accommodating. Bathrooms were also a unique experience. The music was loud, but not so loud you couldn't have a conversation. We were there on a weeknight and were the only customers there. It's a really fun experience with great food. Remember to tip well.

Yelp
Was not really a fan of this restaurant. They are much more about the vibe and ambiance than the food. We went for lunch and there was nobody there so it was quiet for us. But the pricing was quite expensive. I got the spicy tuna roll which came with 5 pieces. It was mostly filled with rice and was topped with a little bit of sushi, not enough for me. the potato salad tasted a little fishy for my taste as well. I don't eat that much but I was not full with this meal. If you enjoy good vibes and picturesque presentation, I recommend going at night for the full experience. Our server was super sweet and cute, but was wearing sleeves that were getting all over the table when they reached over and it made it hard for them to serve everything.

Yelp
WORST SUSHI I'VE EVER HAD!! tldr; it feels like this place is run by white people FOR white people, WITHOUT any regard for actual japanese culture. this place should cease to exist unless management/ownership is improved or changed. the entire time we were in there, it seemed as if they were catering to a white family/critiques who's entire list of suggestions was based on how to add to an already overstimulating place rather than actually improve on their food. i.e., "i'm thinking it would be really cool if you added a photobooth where people can use quarters and take pictures!" i didn't want to believe the 1-star reviews at first, but they are so right. the "ambiance" is okay if that's what you're into, but it was honestly overstimulating for me. the second we walked in, something seemed off so we immediately played it safe and just ordered one dish with the intention of leaving asap & getting sushi/the rest of our meal elsewhere. the food: came on a conveyer belt (which is nothing new) that was filled with decorations to the point where the waiter said "sometimes the food looks like the decorations and i don't want you to eat that on accident" ... ??? the food plate itself (as pictured) was unpleasing to the eye and it was clearly falling apart. we couldn't tell what the yellow liquidy "sauce" was but it was definitely weird- on top of the pink rice and pink seaweed/rice paper (?) on the outside. the salmon did not seem to be of good quality. the best part was literally the roe (salmon eggs) on top. overall, this "experience" was not worth the $20 we paid for 6 pieces of "sushi" one word: disgusting

Yelp
We were blown away! Honestly, the reviews are not fair. Food was great. Tons of variety, flavorful, and came out of the kitchen quickly on the conveyor belt. Theme was so fun - very lady Gaga. Service was also fast. Honestly, we need to fill this place up more! Would come back!

Yelp
The vibe was fun and whimsical, the food was delicious and fresh. The sake was great. We took our 4 year old son who loves sushi and the environment was perfect for him. He stayed entertained the entire time between the decor and the conveyer belt. Service was fantastic as well- they were attentive and thorough. Would recommend if you want sushi with a fun environment. Super kid friendly, but great for adults. Music was great.

Yelp
It is a smaller space than I expected (3 tables of 4 and some bar seating). While the kawaii aesthetic is fun and colorful, it definitely gives off a younger vibe. Probably great for a young girl's birthday. There were two hosts dressed up and one server (she was great). We were there for lunch on Sushi Sunday. The seaweed salad was a nice size with different types of seaweed and edible flowers (ours didn't have tomatoes); very pretty and refreshing. I got the wasabi avocado eel roll, which was gorgeous to look and decent enough to eat. My partner got the special salmon roll (I think?, either that or the Toro Taku Roll), which had some really nice crunch from the veggies. The drinks were really good: the Saketini and Boozy Yuzu were both on the lighter side (not the pour) and very refreshing. Overall not a place for gourmands, but decent enough sushi with a playful atmosphere. I'm not crazy about the decor, but probably great for a kid's birthday party. Service and food are decent enough.

Yelp
We were definitely here for the ambience and decor. The place is funky chic and weird in a good/fun way, the service was top notch (did I mention the incredible outfits!?) and the food was very good. Initially, I didn't have very high expectations out of this place other than a fun night out with friends, but I will say the quality of the food was great and higher quality than I expected, and we all really enjoyed the dinner here. Can't say the conveyer belt was really my thing since your food could come on the conveyer belt but you have to order it, and what passes through otherwise is decor items... (I feel like you can do SO much more with that belt... and get super creative with the dishes themselves) but I have to say the food was great, the happy hour sake was nice, and though there wasn't an abundance of gluten-free options, there were enough to make a great meal out of. Definitely a fun place to bring groups of people to, will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
The service was amazing, the food was great and it's just such a great vibe. Not sure why people are hating, we love coming here and it's definitely alot of fun! I love that they are trying new things and the desserts are out of this world! Give it a shot you will be pleasantly surprised.

Yelp
If you're a TikTok influencer from Philadelphia, you might think this place is worth a photo. Otherwise, it's the type of spot that belongs on 42nd Street--gimmicky in a bad way, with subpar sushi and service to match. The sushi wasn't fresh, the presentation was bad, and the sauces were downright awful. The decor might seem fun from a distance, but up close, it looks like everything was bought at Toys "R" Us--cheap and tacky. This would all be somewhat forgivable if the prices were reasonable, but for some reason, they charge like it's fine dining. Honestly, anyone living in SoHo or Tribeca wouldn't be caught dead here. No surprise, everyone we spoke to at the bar was a tourist. Do your stomach a favor and pass...

Yelp
So excited to have tried this spot on the day of opening. I was greeted by the host that was dressed very cool, Tokyo style. Despite being fully booked for reservations she was able to squeeze me in at the bar. This place is instagram worthy! They have a conveyor belt displaying art by Sebastian and it even brings out a few dishes and drinks from the menu. The presentation of dishes were stellar and colorful. Some dishes lacked flavor. The dishes looked great but tasted rather simple/plain. The drinks were beautiful, but not boozy. They could have been a little stronger. The service however was absolutely amazing. My server Jandora was awesome . She explained everything to me on the menu in detail. She took my photos and checked back often . She definitely added to making the entire experience awesome. I will say you must got for the experience, geat awesome content and enjoy a dinner art experience.

Yelp
Be advised there is not a full bar here. Seems like a nice place to take a picture not eat food. Drinks were not great and what I did eat I didn't care for. Unless you want to snap some photos, this place probably isn't for you.

Sho N.

Yelp
The food was nice. Especially with their new cocktails. Their server and hostess were so professional and nice.

Austin P.

Yelp
Hilariously bad tourist trap. For starters, we were the first people in the door at 12pm for lunch and the place was gross. What type of a restaurant, serving sushi no less, doesn't even the clean the floor from the night before? (See pics) Everybody gets an option of miso soup or three "small bites" before their meal. The Three small bites were two highly mediocre cold shrimp, potato salad that could have been made in Alabama , and lettuce with a pickled something (see pics). I wasn't just mediocre. It was outrageously cheap. Is this NYC or what?! When I finally got my "chirashi parfait", it had four pieces of very mediocre basic sushi (please see pics). For $30. Terrible.

Lisette P.

Yelp
Extremely low quality, dirty floor. Fun for kids and instagram pictures. Perfect for tourists.

Yelp
We had thee most amazing time at SUSHIDELIC!! It was my niece's 15th birthday and they delivered. Hannah went above & beyond to educate us on the decor & design of the restaurant. I highly recommend paying a visit to this one of a kind experience. You'll have a great time!

Vanessa S.

Yelp
I was excited because it exhibits art from Sebastian Masuda but otherwise it was very mediocre sushi restaurant which for the price tag it was horrendous. The decor obviously was very Instagram worthy and looked beautiful, but the food when served did not match the ambiance at all. The plating looked like they just threw the fish onto dish. The food itself well I could of bought better stuff at Whole Foods and saved myself 85 dollars. It really wasn't conveyor belt sushi either because you could only pick up for the stuff you ordered not like in real conveyor belt sushi places where its continuous and you pick as many plates as you want. The service was alright nothing extraordinary nor memorable but the host had a really neat costume on to greet guests. I'd say it's a hard skip if you want to eat here but take photos of the inside decor if you can somehow.

maribel m.

Yelp
Went for me and my friends birthday. Perfect setting for a fun wig party. food was pricey for the quality and drinks were okay but super fun. The servers and waitresses were so nice and gave us complimentary Polaroid photos of us with fun sparkly stickers. was tons of fun

Yelp
Popped in with my friends to check out NYCs first Kawaii Cafe. I've been to their sister restaurant Little Monster Cafe in Tokyo years ago and I loved it. So happy they opened here. It's a very cute, small and colorful sushi spot on Lafayette street. Staff was also dressed Kawaii style. Reservations are full so we didn't get a chance to eat yet but I give it 5 stars on presentation! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I wish I loved this spot but unfortunately they have a lot of kinks to work out as they're still fairly new. Overall the food was good, but felt overpriced for what we ate and for the long wait times. The waitress apologized at every course because they were so far behind. There's a lovely palette of sauces that we didn't get until the 4th course which was very unfortunate. The cocktails were tasty and the bartender was very quick. The inside has fun decor but feels more like a fast casual spot than a restaurant that charges $85 and $95 omakase menus. Also, only the first course came out on the conveyor belt. It's really just for show which was disappointing. It took us 2 hours to get through 6 course (one being dessert). Overall the food was tasty but not worth the money or the wait. It was fun to do once but I will not be returning.

Great staff and yummy food. Definitely a different feel. Will come back when I visit again.

Yelp
85 dollars for an omakase style "conveyer belt" sushi??? Sounds like a scam. - THE EXPERIENCE - I love Sebastian Masuda's restaurants and love the concept but this was poorly executed. Maybe because my experience wasn't as what I expected because his design concept is very over the top but just wanted to re-iterate that I feel like it's only like that if you sit at the sushi counter. We wanted either that or at least a better table but there was only a table by the door. We waited for the hostess to help grab a new table or the sushi counter for us and this table was the only table in the sunlight while everyone was closer towards the back where you feel the experience. Even though she said she was trying her best I felt like there should be no issue asking someone to move 1 seat over for us. Tons of restaurants in New York does this to accommodate experiences and I felt like we waited 30 minutes to sit at the same table we didn't want. We were the only ones in sunlight right next to the door where people were coming in. I felt like if we got the proper experience being near the sushi counter this review would have been higher because I wanted to be at the conveyer belt. As a "conveyer belt" restaurant this isn't really one because nobody received their items through the conveyer belt. - THE FOOD - We got a set of "paint" and the sauces were not bad but personally for me I don't feel like using any while eating sushi so for me it was cute but not really necessary. The macaron sushi idea is cute but the macaron itself was very stale and not an actual macaron. Just a piece of thing that looked like one. It's supposed to be fluffy when biting into it. I should have just picked the fish off and ate it. Our second plate we had an option of salmon or hamachi and we all went with salmon but the salmon was half cooked which I didn't understand??? I thought sashimi is just raw and fresh... I didn't understand why it was half cooked (see photo) Our third plate was with 4 different sushi's and all of them weren't that great except for the one on the left which had fried rice and I thought that one tasted somewhat innovative with the spicy mayo. I just didn't understand why I needed imitation crab for a 85 dollar course meal because I always believed imitation crab was used for cheaper end sushi. I know this is only for looks but the imitation crab piece didn't even look fun or cool. If you go with the concept at least continue it on properly. The next plate was the fried veggie and shrimp which wasn't bad. But I could sense some sarcasm from the waitress about the matcha salt so it sort of left us feeling a little weird throughout the experience. The chirashi parfait wasn't bad but this was the only point in the course where I felt like I'm eating raw fish. And possibly only 3 pieces.... The rest was rice underneath. The dessert course was ok. The ice cream isn't that sweet which is fine and the other two wasn't that memorable but yuzu rice Krispy wasn't bad. - CONCLUSION - We didn't have the best time in this experience and didn't feel that the restaurant gave us a proper conveyer belt sushi experience that was cool and unique. Instead we should have just spent our money at an actual omakase. We wouldn't pay more than 10-20 dollars for what we ate and my suggestion would be to just turn this into a non alcoholic bar with no food because at least that would be cool to look around and maybe you'll receive more customers that way. Nobody wants to pay 85 dollars for mediocre sushi. Because the alcohol content was low according to the waitress because they haven't received a full liquor license yet. Which I appreciated her saying that before we ordered a drink.

Yelp
Not worth the hype. Honestly, for a restaurant, at the end of the day, if the food isn't worth the price, everything else is just a gimmick. The space is very instagrammable but everything else is sub par.

Kelly A.

Yelp
The hostess is the best in New York City. I have an anaphylactic allergy to sesame seeds. I asked if there were any in the spicy edamame. Instead of walking 4 feet to the kitchen and asking the chef- the waiter just said "No". After being served the dish, I asked the hostess to check with the chef. She returned to the table and confirmed that the dish DID contain sesame seeds. This is after I had already been served and tasted the dish. I quickly took my allergy medicine- it was all very scary. The hostess was amazing, apologetic, went out of her way to remove it from the bill. The waiter didn't even apologize. He truly couldn't be bothered. Decor is cool. If you have allergies, don't eat here. The hostess deserves all of the Tips. My allergic reaction could've been so much worse if I had trusted the waiter.

Christine E.

Yelp
Aweful. Food was horrible and the ambience was very tacky. My son got food poisoning and it ruined our whole evening

Claudia F.

Yelp
Everything was perfect, the food, the service. Was little expensive but... you're paying for the experience and that was amazing They take some time to the preparation, so take your time, and enjoy.

Yelp
The food is pretty weird - raw fish inside a macaroon?? But definitely come for the experience and you MUST sit by the bar. This place is one of the most unique restaurants in the world! The quality of fish/uni/caviar was fine, it just was mixed up in the odd way. The ferrys wheel with nigiri and rolls was the best thing by far and dessert was excellent. I highly recommend to check this place out at least once.

Yelp
Fab-tastic setting, atmosphere, decor, immersive, conveyor belt chic experience. Care and prep curation go into the fresh and tasty eats. Hostess with the Mostest "Tipsy" will be your invaluable guide. Cool-cred Instagrammable ambiance.

Yelp
Is this the place to go when you want to eat traditional sushi or upscale American fusion sushi? Probably not. This is the place you go to have an EXPERIENCE & eat some tasty food at the same time. I live in California - I am spoiled by fresh fish & fresh produce. I know the difference between fresh/stale etc. The food here is good. Some plates are better than others but nothing was bad. It's a set menu & intentionally whimsical so if you walk in with "I want it my way" mentality you will not enjoy yourself. Some of the complaints I see in other reviews are things I thought stood out! there is an attention to flavor and texture that was delightful. Yes, the creamy parfait/ice cream dish had crunchy bits & I remarked out loud how well balanced that dish was, from a sensory point of view. The food here is a journey. it's playful, surprising, decadent and not always exactly what you wanted. I am picky & I will not eat food I dislike, no matter how much I paid for it. I ate everything. My adult daughter loves anime & kawaii & she had a fantastic time & also loved the food. If Japanese pop culture isn't something you find interesting then you'll probably be happier eating elsewhere. if you appreciate over the top Tokyo drip then you won't be disappointed. P.s. the micro greens were fresh & flavorful today. The shrimp tempura was SUBLIME and both my daughter and I agreed it was the best shrimp tempura we've ever tasted, and she's been eating mixed tempura since she was 6 months old. (Peel the batter & you have veggies appropriate for a new eater. Date night with the baby was always sushi.)

Yelp
New type of sushi restaurant. It's an entertaining :) come with costumes :) :) this is how they set up this sushi restaurant. It's located in Soho so please show your style. DJ and light pit dark. Items on the conveyor belt for the sale. I hope they open on Sunday.

Yelp
Not sure why I expected more out of a place that has such gaudy, almost kitschy decor-- you know you're paying for the kitsch. And I *paid* for the kitsch. The sushi itself was mediocre at best, really lacking flavor that they tried compensating for with the rainbow dipping sauces (which just tasted as artificial as the experience felt). It was underwhelming through and through, from appetizer to dessert. My friend said the sake cheesecake tasted like "dank." I felt bad for taking us here to spend close to $300 on.... kitsch. I didn't know how to keep a straight face for our server when she asked us how our food was. She was a white woman, which someone was the case for most of the staff. You just can't go to a sushi place that's not Japanese if you're trying to do omakase.

Yelp
The art is great along with the drinks, however the food... was not. Sushi was not fresh, quality of the fish was also subpar, the Toro was tough (HOW, ITS TORO?!), I thought I chipped a tooth when eating dessert (it wasn't, it was a large sugar sprinkle that was mixed in with a soft dessert), they added undressed, plain micro greens to dishes with no purpose, list goes on and on. Plenty of ways to improve as I went opening when they just opened, but seriously spend your money elsewhere, specifically at a Michelin starred sushi place. That is REAL sushi.

Yelp
The ambiance is very unique, the hostess and staff are dressed up. The lipstick lights, cats above the bar and conveyor belt - transformed the whole space. Great place to enjoy the experience and company. Great attention to detail, if you love taking pictures try this place!! They offer two different 6 course menus (including dessert). We had 2 drinks and were stuffed. The waitress walked us through the dishes, what paint (sauces) best pair with which items. Checked in on us frequently and overall a very fun experience! I liked the attention we received - whether to give us new paint spoons, chips sticks , water .... Also appreciated not being rushed, took our time with dinner and drinks and felt they were ok with our pace - a rare thing in NYC!

Yelp
I came here for my birthday on a Saturday night with table reservations. The high top they sat us at was a little underwhelming, but after speaking with the hostess and explaining how much we wanted to sit at the conveyor belt bar, they accommodated us as soon as possible despite a full house. Our server, Saturn, and the hostess were really friendly and kept checking in with us throughout our meal. Really appreciated that! I typically only eat cooked seafood and vegetarian options but decided this would be the place to step out of my comfort zone and I'm so glad I did! The sashimi was fresh and all of the dishes surprised me with their textures and flavors. I really loved looking at all the conveyor belt décor as it came around too. Everything was cleverly made and fun to look at. Yes, we get it, this place is pricey. But what did you really expect for a Soho sushi joint...

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. Came here for my birthday and sat at the bar with my partner, hoping for a romantic and unique experience. We purposefully booked a late seating to enjoy a date atmosphere (8:30 pm on a Saturday) and sat at the bar. I was very surprised when the hostess decided to sit a parent and child (child was under 10) AT THE BAR, next to us, despite it now being 9 pm with SEVERAL tables open. The child (who was seated right next to me) was squirming and disrupting our date, so I discreetly asked if we could be moved down the bar. No problem. Everything was fine for awhile until the hostess decided to sit ANOTHER parent and child, again, at the bar while alcoholic drinks are being poured. There were still tables open, so it's not as though this was the only seating option so I have to assume that the hostess made a call to do this. This is not a cheap place to eat: our bill was well over $150 for 2 and the lack of consideration on the part of the hosts was a bit appalling...I was trying to be discreet and respectful but also enjoy my meal, but the experience was spoiled. If you're looking for a fun evening out as adults, I wouldn't recommend this place. There's not a lot of consideration given to adult guests and it sucks to be put in a "no win" situation with poor management and hospitality. If you're looking for a place to drink alcohol at 9-10 pm on a Saturday with your 6 year old, then it's perfect.

Yelp
food wasnt good at all. its a cool concept but you can tell they only care about money. i came months ago and then again the other day and it has declined so much, the sushi is inconsistent and really not even that good for a price point of around $80-$100 a person. youre really only paying to take pictures. but make sure to aim the camera upwards only, the floor is disgustingly dirty, wobbly tables, and servers that barely care anout the experience. you can tell this place is going down, fast. i would be surpised if it lasted until the end of the year. got a veggie roll or whatever they thought was the equivilent of that. ive never seen sushi look like this, its like whoever was making it saw a picture of a sushi roll for the first time. would not recommend even if they dropped the price

Yelp
Sure, the place is 'kitschy', but the food was top notch -- the fish not just being super fresh but sliced perfectly and presented artisticallly. Also, the service is impeccable. We were lucky to be there last night during restaurant week and had a great meal and a great time. Oh, and I'm not a tourist; rather a life long NY'er, who does not venture anywhere near Times Square or inane attractions like the 'Friends' thing. Thanks for a great meal guys!

Yelp
Management was terrible !!! Waiters were super rude to me and my date! The establishment itself was extremely dirty and the sushi rolls we ordered were chewy and just did not taste good. Was super disappointed since it was me and my dates anniversary dinner.

Yelp
Took 100 dollars after canceling within an hour. Awful customer service who only want money.

Yelp
Honestly I was pretty impressed by Sushidelic offering a new style of sushi. Colorful design and feel like in Tokyo. Usually, when dining other sushi places in NY, it comes with a high price, but here, we had blast and enjoy for under $100 per person, and it feels like stumbling upon a corner sushi spot in Tokyo. Our server was so friendly, and entertaining dishes. It was the perfect restaurant to go to on a Friday night. The choice of rolls was also extensive, and look forward to trying different dishes the next visit. Thanks for a fun time! Arigatooooo.

Yelp
Definitely an amazing experience, love the place, the vibe and the outfits. The sushi was good and it's a great place for celebrations. I can't forget to mention the good service.

Yelp
Food is absolutely disgusting. This place should not be a restaurant. Yes, the decor is cool but that's it. This place should be a non-alcoholic bar instead. Get rid of all their kitchen appliances and "chefs". It was my sister's birthday and they absolutely forgot. They sang to 5 other parties while we were there. Negligent and rude. Do not spend your birthday here, you will leave hungry and pissed off.

Yelp
So sad! I'm a fan of super kawaii-ness but this place was a mess. Visually, everything looks interesting and cool...but my god was the food awful. Not fresh and everything tasted like they were made at a gas station. Pretty much you're spending $100 to go take pictures for your instagram here. Not worth the price tag.

Yelp
Everything from start to finish was the most delicious, curated experience! We loved the "roll with it" menu! Our server, Ariel, was incredible! I can't give a higher recommendation! Run, don't walk, to this wonderful new restaurant! 200 out of 10
