Swifty's at Hedges Inn - Review - The Hamptons - New York - The Infatuation

"A former Upper East Side icon that’s now based in Florida, Swifty’s quickly became the sought-after reservation for Hamptons-goers after expanding to The Hedges Inn. With its preppy, pink-hued setting, this place is yet another component to the Palm Beachification of Eastern Long Island (see: Mary Lou’s Montauk). But though the dishes are prissy—a “pink” lobster roll features lobster salad made with Marie Rose sauce—they still satisfy. Try the whole poached artichoke, served cold and meant to be dipped into vinaigrette. This spot is popular with the Ralph Lauren crowd, so expect a signature Cobb salad, a club sandwich, and a meatloaf made from a fashion designer’s personal recipe. RESERVE A TABLE" - Melissa Kravitz Hoeffner

All the New Restaurants in the Hamptons | Eater NY

"An East Hampton hotel is making waves: Swifty’s is back in the Northeast. After shuttering on the Upper East Side and having a rebirth in Palm Beach, it has taken over the indoor and outdoor dining space at the Hedges Inn, just across from the town’s idyllic pond. Expect classics like crab cakes and meatloaf, along with specials created from local ingredients." - Beth Landman

Vogue’s Guide to East Hampton, America’s Most Luxurious Beach Town | Vogue

"Inside The Hedges Inn, this reincarnation of the Upper East Side restaurant that served a dedicated and well-heeled group of uptown New Yorkers until it closed in 2016 is back with breakfast, lunch, and dinner; expect jumbo Lump Maryland crab cakes, chilled lobster salad, and meatloaf, with many dishes made using ingredients from local farms. Its owner, Robert Caravaggi, was also maître d’ of the beloved Mortimer’s." - Elise Taylor

Pretty expensive for mediocre food. Brussel sprouts were great, but $27 for chips and guac.... Sticky toffee pudding was lovely. Waitresses in $900 Zimmermann dresses and great people watching in the immaculately setting. You're paying for the privilege of sitting there and to be served well. Though I wouldn't say our server was at all experienced very sweet though. Worth it for a one off. Probs won't be back.

The food was great and the atmosphere is stunning, but there were so many dropped moments in the service it was quizzical. First off the waiter started abruptly after drink orders and asked curtly are we ready to order without welcoming us or talking about the specials. They took our plates halfway through appetizers not realizing we weren’t done with the fluke crudo so they had to get new plates and silverware . I asked for the drink menu when entrees came and then they never came back to get my drink order. They delivered the drinks and desserts to the wrong people. None of this is catastrophic and we had a lovely time but the misses and lack of training and coordination at this price point are shocking. On the food side, I highly recommend the pork tomahawk and the fluke crude as well as the sticky toffee pudding.

Google
Swifty’s does a great job at the American classics . The flounder was light, airy and crispy on the outside and juicy and tender inside. The menu is very Hamptons classic ( lobster rolls, hamburger, cobb salad, etc..) and everything is done well . I think it’s best for brunch or lunch and I’ll try that next! loved it although prices are high but so is everything in the hamptons

Ate at the bar. The $18 mocktail was obnoxious HOWEVER the rest of the meal was on point . the room is beautiful . The salmon was perfectly cooked , cauliflower salad perfect . The bread brioche they served was delicious . Got the “bread pudding” for desert - was ok . I would get the carrot cake next time . Negroni was tasty but expensive. Overall, best meal i had in the Hamtpons and i ate at Nick and Tonis, and their Mexican place Coche in Amagansett (get the Tres Leches cake there - best desert i had all week ). Hey Swifty team - poach that tres leches cake LOL. The Hamptons have gone off the rails for price but honestly Swiftys was the most memorable meal i had and same price as all the others

I truly wanted to enjoy Swifty's. A new EH restaurant in a beautiful setting that wasn't Italian or a steak house. I am giving them two stars - 1 for the ambiance and 1 because they attempted to correct mistakes, although no compensation was ever offered (free drink or desert, something off the bill, etc.) and the corrections often took multiple attempts. Issues: 1. Their "world famous" artichoke was hard and not steamed properly. Got it right on the 2nd try. 2. Burrata, Prosciutto, Melon Salad was sent out without Prosciutto. Disappeared back into the kitchen, had to remind them a second time to get it back out. 3. Asked for ice and lemon with our water. Took 3 separate requests to get it. 4. Took 2 requests and 30 minutes to get our coffee. 5. Was told the only potatoes we could get were french fries but then the eggs came out with home fries. 6. Was told only eggs they were making were scrambled when asked for 2 fried eggs. Seems strange as benedict was on the menu but even more so as a general concept for a brunch restaurant. 7. Not our table but a woman sitting at another tabled warned us that she had been waiting for her food for an hour when we sat down. The restaurant was not crowded. All that being said, the place looks great. it would take A LOT to give it a second chance.

Google
Raymond, server, immediately poured tap water without asking what type of water we wanted. The scallops & risotto were both watery & tasteless. I'll never come back to this horrible place ever again. It's an embarrassment for the Hamptonites!

Google
Disappointing Experience – Overpriced & Underwhelming I expected a lot more from this brand. The food was nothing special, especially for the high prices. The atmosphere didn’t help—the crowd was sleepy, and the vibe was off, with a TV randomly playing an MMA fight (not exactly the right ambiance). Overall, a lackluster experience that didn’t justify the cost. Won’t be rushing back.

I love swiftys in Palm Beach and now I can officially say I love Swiftys in East Hampton. I always have a great experience from the delicious food to amazing service to the fun atmosphere. Good vibes all around. Can’t wait to be back.

Yelp
This place is the T Swift of food. The drinks are like pop stars, perfect in all the right ways. The food is fabulous. To start, they bring popovers with salted butter. Very good. The Cesar Salad was great. 9/10 The Chicken Paillard was very good 10/10 The service is very good. The ambiance is fabulous. I see why it is so hard to get a reservation here. I will be back.

Yelp
Swifty's has their newest outpost at the hedge's inn. One of the hardest reservations to snag this summer. Ambience is nice the service is very good & it is definitely a place to see and be seen. Appetizers fell short and entrees for the most part were mediocre. However, Swifty's redeemed themselves with their signature meat loaf. I'm an Italian girl, we don't do meatloaf because we have meatballs every Sunday. I took the chance and ordered the meatloaf. OMG. It's been a month and I still think about it. the meatloaf is tender and wrapped in crispy bacon with mashed potatoes and gravy that could make a nonbeliever see Jesus. If you're in the area and manage to get a reservation, go. If not it can be skipped.

Yelp

Yelp
Absolutely love the vibe at Swifty's! Crab Cakes are to die for and who doesn't love some fireside s'mores for dessert. High recommend checking them out

Yelp
The food was decent and our server was lovely. beautiful garden and atmosphere. However, my husband and I were shocked when the food came out five minutes after ordering. it had to have been precooked and then microwaved. At those prices? Really? we won't be returning and do not recommend.

Yelp
Disappointing Service Overshadowed a Great Meal The food at Swifty's was very good and I throughly enjoyed my meal. Unfortunately, the service was so poor it completely detracted from the experience. It seems the main hiring criteria here are being tall, attractive, and photogenic, because competency certainly isn't on the list. Our server (name withheld out of respect) disappeared for a solid 15-20 minutes, during which time my mother had to ask three times for a simple glass of ice. When we politely asked other nearby servers for help with ice and bread, they looked at us like we were speaking a foreign language. No one seemed to care. To top it off, our server used sarcasm and forced irony at the end of the meal, presumably to cover up her inattentiveness, which only made things more uncomfortable. Swifty's may be the latest "trendy" spot in East Hampton, but behind the polished décor and pretty staff is a glaring lack of basic hospitality. Just a disappointing Sunday brunch overall and you might want to reconsider Swifty's as a dining option.

Yelp
Wow, Swifty's is beautifully done. The wait staff and service are very attentive, and the music is at a reasonably low volume. You'd want to eat there, no question. I was with other diners who may or may not offer reviews, but I'm sticking to the crab cakes. I'm from Maryland, the land of crab cakes, and when I moved here, the crab cake benchmark was at Silver's in Southampton (now closed). There, the cakes had a little panko and egg for binding, aromatics, shallots, peppers, and Bay seasoning. They were gently formed into cakes and sautéed in clarified butter on one side. They were brushed with butter, sprinkled with breadcrumbs on the other side, and put under the salamander until crispy. No sauce was needed, but it came with remoulade. I'm spoiled, but Swifty's crab cakes were not up to standard. Two came, identical in shape, like hockey pucks. They were breaded on all sides, and given the evenness of the crust, they appear to have been preformed and cooked in a deep fryer. There was plenty of good crab, but too much filler to hold shape and a noticeable absence of richness, umami, and seasoning. A remoulade would have been far superior to the tartar sauce, but something was needed to improve the dish. I'm sure, for the prices, Swifty's can do better on the crab cakes. I've even given them the recipe. One more thing. The special for the day was Puffer fish tails, and what came was at best an appetizer for the table for $20. Like the crab cakes, the puffer tails were breaded and evenly fried, also in a deep fryer. The fact that they were undercooked on the inside suggests they were previously frozen. The bill, $68.00! Whoa. I could have gotten a 1.5lb lobster, a great strip steak or filet au poivre, a beautifully prepared piece of halibut, a small Dover sole, or grilled lamb chops for that price elsewhere. This dish was a disastrous mistake at $68, even if properly prepared.
