Table Culture Provisions

"After scrappy beginnings as a mobile kitchen, Chef/owners Stéphane Saint Louis and Steven Vargas transformed this cozy ten-table spot into the toast of downtown Petaluma. Warmly approachable service provides a pleasing backdrop to a seasonally inflected tasting menu (offered as either four or seven courses) comprised of elegant Californian cooking with classic French flourishes. A prime example might be found in a beautifully flaky pithivier filled with squab and kohlrabi, matched with buttery Robuchon-style potatoes. Desserts, too, show off a thoughtful combination of technique and flavor, as in a dressed up chestnut Mont Blanc with almond sable and blackberry sorbet." - Michelin Inspector

You’re missing it big time if you’re traveling to the area but not trying this place out. Exemplify how farm-to-table is not just a gimmick but what the future of food should look like - equitable, respectful, beautiful. The tasting menu is full of delicious surprises so I won’t spoil you with details. It’s also seasonal so expect something different from our experience as well!

When deciding where to celebrate my birthday it was an obvious that tcp was the spot. As a vegan, finding a tasting menu that is something I can eat is always a treat and this was exactly that. In my reservation I outlined my allergies and then called to follow up to ensure the meal was able to be adjusted. My three friends enjoyed the traditional menu. Highly recommend this experience

Google
Wow. Table Culture Provisions really raises the bar. Not only was the food incredible but the service level is one of the best I've ever had. The staff were very attentive and really made our experience special, even though we weren't celebrating anything in particular. Everything about the experience was comfortable. I didn't have to ask for anything the whole night. They obviously take tremendous pride in their service. As a person in a larger body, the chairs were comfortable and I had plenty of room, even though the dining room was small. The decor was modern, beautiful , and they had great lighting to showcase the beautifully plated food. The food was also out-of-this-world tasty. Thank you to the whole staff for a memorable experience!

Chef Stephane is not only a brilliant and creative chef, but also genuinely kind and cares about the broader community. TCP has become one of my top restaurants in the bay area. The menu changes seasonally, which you would never know because all of the items were the perfect balance of both flavors and textures. My favorites were: - crudo tartlette - beef tartare with sunchoke cappuccino - cocolemon (SO unique felt like I was going on a treasure hunt) I can't wait to come back in the spring and will be recommending TCP to all of my friends and family- it's a small place so make sure to make a reservation in advance!

Avant Lard Travel - by Houston Porter

Google
Table Culture Provision - I give it 5 Lardons, my highest rating!!! We have dined with TCP several times since they opened up at this location and all experiences have been great, however, this one was spot on in every way. And it was extra special because we brought my brother-in-law and wife for his birthday, neither of whom had visited before but had heard us raving over the years about how amazing TCP is. Because of this, there were some pretty high expectations from their side of the table and TCP's chefs, servers, and staff fully delivered, with my sister-in-law even proclaiming that this very well may have been the best meal of her life. (It certainly ranked Top 5 all-time for us.) The food was amazing, the service was top notch (efficient and professional, as well as perfectly friendly) and the ambiance was warm and welcoming. I highly recommend getting the full menu...and DO add the Parker House Roll! Every time I hear someone at another table ask a server what it is, I want to lean over and tell them to just order it and if they like it, I'll buy it off them. And as far as the tasting menu, it's fantastic. We have had the pleasure of dining at a lot of Michelin starred restaurants and cannot quite figure out why TCP has not yet received this distinction. Their food and service easily rank at least halfway up our list of actual Michelin star.experiences, and easily beats out the 2 star restaurant up the coast that we have visited several times. However, at the same time they have not overdone it with ridiculous food and perplexing dishes and cutlery. They are very creative while still remaining approachable and fun. We usually find at least one item on a tasting menu to be a bit off but every single one on this menu is well thought out, well prepared, and absolutely a delight for the eyes, the nose, and the tongue and belly. I wish I could pick a favorite but all were amazing. But I will say that the prosciutto bite was unique (I could easily eat half a dozen of those balls), the scallop may be the best crudo we have ever had, the duck was perfect (what we expect from Liberty Ducks in the hands of Chef Steph and Chef Steven), and the pre-dessert and actual dessert were simply amazing. Finally, the service was first class. As my regular readers know, I revel in great service and love to give that credit where it is due and Danny and Jessie (both Petaluma Foodies, I believe) not only complimented but complemented the experience perfectly. They are professional without being stuffy and are knowledgeable without being condescending. They give 3 star Michelin service while keeping things fun, light, and enjoyable. And they did not try to run us off as soon as we were finished with our meal. They allowed us to relax and bask in the glory of what we had just experienced, and honestly, that extra 10 minutes or so that we lingered was necessary so as to fully appreciate what we had just experienced. As an added bonus, their lighting above the tables is perfect for food photos. They are LED orbs that put off enough light to keep the room well lit, but unless you are directly under them, you do not even see that they are on. But slide your dish to the middle of the table and you have excellent overhead lighting so that you don't have to use your phone's flash or ask a companion to light things up with their cell phone's flashlight app. And for those who saw my question here last week about the corkage fee, we love their wine selection (they even have an amazing non-alcoholic sparkling wine), but the bottle of port we brought from home was so worth it to have with our meal that the corkage fee felt like a bargain! Although TCP may be one of the pricier places in Petaluma, when compared with other Michelin-esque places, they are actually quite a value. And if you want to taste the same flavors but from a more cost conscious menu, check out their Social Hour. We cannot wait to visit TCP again, soon!

Google
The best experience ever. Don't need a lot of words to praise such a fantastic establishment. My husband and I went there on our recent honeymoon while visiting Napa and their food was literally the best part of our trip (and we dined at a lot of amazing restaurants fortunately). A huge thanks to the chef for accommodating my husband who is vegan and doesn't drink as well (all equally beautiful dishes and super impressive non-alcoholic champagne). Just do yourself a favor and you'll have a great time!

Google
Overall this is a really lovely local restaurant with some very delicious food, along with some thoughtful touches. The only reason I hesitate to give it 5 stars is that the cost relative to meal was a bit out of balance. We had the 4 course tasting menu along with one wine pairing. Given the cost (for two of us the total was about $300- with tip) I think I was wanting just a bit more -- or more specifically, the cost was a bit over what you'd expect. Again the food was terrific overall (the starter, appetizer and dessert were excellent, but the main was just so-so), and the sommelier was thoughtful and detailed in his descriptions. A really lovely restaurant, just maybe on the expensive side.

Google
Only a set tasting menu ( 7or 4 courses ) is offered, which I am totally fine with. Many pros with a few cons. Food was terrific overall ( 2 minor things, black madeleines dry and bland.Poached black cod not warm ), service very friendly and quick. Especially the sommelier was outstanding. The place was very loud, so loud that you sometimes couldn't understand your partner. Major con to me was the total lack of non-alcohol beverages besides water. It's shouldn't be too hard to stock some high quality non alcoholic canned cocktails or juices, at least ...

Yelp
I've been wanting to come for years so we decided to make it happen for restaurant week so we could at least experience all the deliciousness I hear about at a slimmer price tag. I notated in the reservation we were celebrating our anniversary (10 years). I was excited to eat here but also for our celebration. Food was exceptional, we were waited on by the 3 folks of the night, service was lovely as well. We had the restaurant week tasting menu and wine pairing. Absolutely zero complaints about the food or service. Maybe this is my issue more than on the restaurant, but I was disappointed that no one even said Happy Anniversary. I've been to not as expensive of restaurants and notated when we are celebrating something and we at least get a verbal acknowledgment which is lovely. I was sad no one acknowledged it at all. I would have figured at this price point that someone would have at minimum said something, nope. A little sad about that especially since we don't eat out at this level too often, it was a big deal for us. Oh well. I ordered the black cod risotto meal and my partner had the steak frites. Both were unbelievable in execution and balance, my risotto was the most luscious mouth feel I've ever had in a risotto. Silky and simply gorgeous. The short rib was fork tender as it should be and also phenomenal. Even the winter salad was a star of flavors. Beautifully balanced, mixed well which is a huge pet peeve of mine when it is not, not wet but dressed appropriately. I had the pavlova dessert and it was nothing short of sumptuous. Coconut, yuzu, cucumber and white chocolate all dancing together on my tongue. Just divine. Part of me wishes we had just ordered a bottle of wine instead of the pairing because the pours of the pairings were light on effort, if you know what I mean. Maybe that's again my issue, since they tell you it's 2 ounce pours but boy are they strict about it. I don't know, I guess that's my problem again, not the restaurant's. Those two little gripes didn't take away from our experience, we had an amazing meal in the kickoff to our anniversary weekend, but I was left feeling a little sad about those two parts of the experience. Oh well!

Yelp
This place is a gem and would hold its own against the standard-bearers in the city without an issue. The tasting menu was excellent and the ambiance was upscale and intimate without being stuffy. My personal favorite was the beef tartare, which was one of the best things -- period -- that I've tasted in quite some time. The tartare is moist and wrapped around a buttery, flaky ring of a crust, then dipped in a cappuccino (!) sauce that pairs awesomely. Everything was excellent, but other standouts worth mentioning: --The first course, which they dubbed "like a shrimp cocktail," which included a couple pieces of shrimp in a decadent cream-like sauce, some crudo, and tempura-style delicata squash rings. --The beef cheek tortellini, which was paired with a dashi broth whose umami flavor really elevated the dish. --The madai, which was reminiscent of a black cod. Nice crispy skin with flaky, buttery meat. --The wedding cake and the follow-up dessert bites. Dear lord. The wedding cake was a praline (delicious) with a rich caramel sauce and the bites were an array of macarons and small cookies, each incorporating sweet and savory / nutty elements. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This was one of the spots my husband and I tried for restaurant week in Sonoma. I was pleased with his choice. Our 3 course menu was a fresh salad with asparagus and light sauce. I ate every fresh bite. The tiny croutons were my favorite. They are hands down the best I've ever had. Our main course was a juicy piece of braised short ribs with peppercorn. Tender fall off the bone. Perfectly seasoned. It was epic. The fries were so yummy! Perfectly crisp just how I like em. So the bread and butter sheesh! I'm obsessed. And for desert we tried both their chocolate ganache opera cake and lemon cream with white chocolate pavlova. This really was the best composed meal in an elegant setting for our restaurant week experience. The service was truly excellent and made our time spent there very intimate and special. We will be coming back again to try the 4 and 7 course dinners. Love it here.

Yelp
Cannot recommend this place enough! Such a lovely environment and wonderful staff. It definitely exceeded all of our expectations on service and food. We came during their social hour menu and ordered almost everything! Some of our favorites were the Farmer's Greens, Tostada, and Steak & Frites. However, everything we ordered was delicious and the quality was amazing. Everything was so fresh and tasty. Will definitely be coming back to try their tasting menu. Please come give this place a try if you're in the area!

Yelp
Behind a well manicured storefront on Petaluma Blvd, completely lacking in any signage, you'll find one of the best kept secrets in north bay dining. While perhaps difficult to find (if you don't know what you're looking for) Table Culture Provisions serves up a remarkable 4 or 7 course tasting meal in an incredibly comfortable setting, with amazing service. We'll definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Ugh. I haven't been able to shake this meal experience. Note, we've been to Ken and Omakase in SF recently and while good, they're not lingering the way TCP is. The tasting menu meal was *exceptional*. The wine pairings, perfect. The service, five star lovely. The interior of the restaurant is a combination of subtle minimalist while still cozy and refined. I eat a lot and often leave tasting menu meals hungry. This wasn't true with TCP. We ordered the 7 courses. I was disappointed to see scallops on the menu, not a huge fan. That said, the scallops may have been my favorite part of the meal. All the other plates were also incredible. We're counting down to the next time we have time to stop into TCP. A spot that lives up to "exceptional cuisine worth a special journey, with dishes that are boldly creative and flawlessly executed." Waiting for Michelin to catch on to this special place in wonderful Petaluma. :)

Yelp
We had been to the restaurant many years ago when it was The Bistro. That was a tiny indoor only seating French restaurant. TCP has completely reimagined the interior and added the exterior seating with incredibly warm heaters ensuring your comfort if seated outside as we were last week. The staff is amazing; We were waited on by Miguel who was attentive and timely without being overbearing. He explained all of the dishes fully and ensured that they came at a pace that suited our pace rather than theirs. Being a tasting menu each dish was unique and used fresh and imaginative flavors. We were there for dinner with another couple and we all decided to have the 4 item menu. They elected to have 2 glasses of wine each from the by the glass selections while we each had the paired wines. All of the wines selected were high quality and heavily French bottling. The menu Saturday night started with the Crudo Tartlet which was a fascinating blend of fish including some (I believe) salmon eggs. Tasty and unique. Next up was the beef tartare followed by the Tortellini filled with braised beef cheeks. Both were delicious and the broth that the tortellini were served in was delicious. Next up was the "main course" which was a beef in puff pastry with mushrooms very reminiscent of beef Wellington. The blend of flavors was different and yet familiar. We finished up with chestnut and meringue with an amazing blackberry sorbet. At this point we all agreed that the 4 course had filled us more than we anticipated. I had been leaning towards the 7 course option and was glad that I chose not to go that route as I was more than full. Miguel surprised us with 3 different pastry deserts AFTER the one I mentioned above. Initially they brought 6 pieces for the 4 of us (again more than enough) and then followed up with another 9 pieces! We gave it our best but couldn't finish the second plate full. What was truly amazing is that they were very busy that evening and their adding that final touch was a wonderful treat on top of what was a very memorable dinner. We shall return and I strongly suggest that anyone who likes well prepared and unique meals that make for a memorable night out do try Table Culture Provisions...

Yelp
7:15 reservation, seated at 7:50. Menus presented at 8:15. First course at 8:40. 4 course option Dinner completed at 10:30. Very disconnected pacing, very small portions and pretentiously expensive.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our dinner here last night. Did the 7 course tasting menu, one of us got the Wagyu beef (instead of duck) and we all got parker rolls. Scallop course was absolute ethereal. My 2nd favorite course was the prosciutto bite, then the yuzu palate cleanser. Absolutely stunning dishes, both visually and tasting. My husband did the wine pairing, and each pour was thoughtfully and beautifully described. Service was friendly, professional and right on point. The setting (we dined inside but there's a patio outside) was small but both refined and efficient. Parking is on street but not an issue if you don't mind walking a half block at most. Very very nice, highly recommend.

Cristie M.

Yelp
Maybe because we dined during restaurant, but to leave a restaurant hungry is unacceptable and a real shame. Perhaps we missed that this was a "tasting menu". Doubtful we'll ever go back.

Yelp
Meh. OK. Service was great, very attentive and friendly (although the multiple up-sells for the wagyu, caviar, and truffle could go away, thanks!). The portions were interesting but not exceptional. Nothing memorable. Don't go there hungry, all seven portions are going to be really small. Which is fine, this is 'fine dining'. But the trade off is that the portions should be memorable. The Baked Alaska was ok. The 'Tortellini in the Spring' jus (sauce) was tasty, but not memorable because the rest of the dish was meh. The Akaushi beef was overly chewy, holy cow... That is something I would actually remove from the menu and fix. It didn't look exceptionally appealing to begin with. But the toughness... Ugh. I've had better steak at Texas Roadhouse. The wine pours were really skimpy. Really small. That was disappointing. And the wines themselves were at best mediocre. Unimaginative, not particularly great pairings with the foods. I would NOT buy the wine pairing, that was a complete waste of money. We ate outside, which was fine. They have heat lamps that are very good and very adjustable. All you have to do is ask. We spent $900 (plus tip) between five of us but only three of us included the wine tasting. That was a lot of money for what we objectively received. It just wasn't worth the money, to be blunt. It was still ok, just not worth $900. Nothing bad, but definitely a disappointment. You can do infinitely better for the cost in Sonoma County.

A B.

Yelp
A recent dinner took 2.5 hours from reservation start time to signing the check. Our table wasn't ready for 15 minutes and after we sat, water and the first course required more waiting. The portions are fair given the reasonable price of the tasting menu, meaning they're quite small. After enjoying a course which consisted of literally one or two bites, we waited 20+ minutes for the next course. The staff was knowledgeable about the food, but oblivious to dirty dishes waiting to be bussed and the vast delays between courses. It also didn't help that the space was frosty cold. We won't be back.

Yelp
First thing first. This is a experience, So plan on being her for a couple of hours. Our server Danny was excellent. Food was delicious as to be expected.. The atmosphere was very nice, cozy charming restaurant with plenty of parking . Wine is great and this is a place you will never forget. Definitely a great place to spoil your partner.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday and was definitely impressed. I did the 7 course & ended up feeling full around #5 but the food was so good we finished everything! The ambience was great. The staff was very knowledgeable about the wine (which was paired very well with each course) & the service was quick! Great place to go if you're wanting to impress. Very intimate. My girlfriend & I had the best time. Thank you!!!

Yelp
Excellent food, impeccable service, cozy atmosphere. A fine addition to Petaluma's high end dining. Hope to go there soon, just have to think of my next special occasion! I would just like a few more vegetarian options.

Yelp
We saw the chef compete on Guy's Grocery Games and sought out his restaurant. We were not disappointed. If you find yourself anywhere near Petaluma, CA, you owe it to yourself to eat here. The waitstaff was cordial and informative. The wine selection while small didn't need to be large because what they were offering was all that was needed. We decided to try their "Social Hour" menu and were blown away. The meal was awesome. The food came hot to the table and quickly. Thank you for a memorable experience.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and I am so glad I finally did. My husband and I went there for Social hour and had a fantastic experience. We started out with the sunchoke soup then moved on to the fondant. For our main course we both had the steak and frites. Everything was delicious. We also enjoyed the service, the staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. Oh, and dessert was wonderful too, and they even brought us a little "bonus" dessert of Paris Brest and macarons. We are definitely planning to return!

Yelp
What a special place! Hidden gem- delicious courses, paired with wine, with wonderful service. Hope to be back for another special occasion. My friends who have done far more tasting menus than me said this was by far one of their all time favorites.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! We ate on the patio under a beautiful ginormous tree. It was such a lovely space & our waitstaff were personable professional & attentive. The food was out of this world amazing, creative & the chosen wine pairings were perfectly orchestrated. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Ok, this place is awesome. Small, but that's ok. I actually prefer a cozy place. This is going to be north bay destination for food peeps. I think with a couple tweaks this is very close to Michelin territory. We had the 7 course dinner on their patio. Tweaks - the squab (pigeon) tasted like cooked liver. Gamey and was not a hit for me, but, maybe I'm not sophisticated enough to appreciate it. The way it was made was remarkable, much like a Wellington. Everything else was a total hit. I will say the wine pour ($20) was light. I was disappointed in what seemed like 2 ounces. At one point the server came out and put a little more in my glass BUT not my wife's! Ok, here we go: The older gal helping us was super nice...but man, edit sister. Too much yacking. Just stop. I mean, it actually took away from this sophisticated experience. Having said that, super nice. One last thing: maybe I missed it on the menu, they add a 5% "service charge". Not sure what that's for, but it did make me reconsider the tip a little.

Yelp
Tonight's dinner experience totally rocked: the food and service were sublime, and the small number of tables made for such an intimate meal. We had a choice between 4 and 7 course prix-fixe menus, chose the larger one, and added Parker rolls and split the waygu supplemental course. Each dish was extraordinary, and I would easily come back for the same items. The experience gives many Michelin starred restaurants in Sonoma and Napa a run for their money. This is now my go to restaurant for fine dining in Petaluma.

Yelp
Amazing coursed meal! 10/10 recommend! I love the cozy, homey feel of this place. Service is impeccable!

Yelp
Amazing experience at Table Culture. It was super easy to make a reservation online for the week of & when we arrived we were promptly shown to our seat. The dining patio is so beautiful & relaxing. I want to start by giving a shoutout to our server, Audrey, she was so kind & attentive & provided us with the best service we could have ever experienced -- despite having an irrationally rude diner loudly complain & demean her, Audrey still carried herself in the most professional way. We ordered the cowboy dinner, so good & perfect for two or more! The plateau, a variety of small bites, is definitely a must! All in all 10/10 & can't wait to return on another special occasion!

Yelp
Me and my girlfriends had the tasting menu for dinner at TCP last month and it was easily one of the most spectacular dining experiences I've ever had (and I've dined at some really fancy places in Sonoma county, including Single Thread and French Laundry). We also did the wine pairing, which was great too (I normally don't drink wine). LOVED the staff!
google avatar

Madi B.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic... From the exquisite food to the wine selection and impeccable service, this dining experience was top-notch. Normally, I shy away from wine pairings due to their hefty price and not quite hitting the mark, but the sommelier, Brian, was the true hero. He not only knew his stuff but also generously offered tailored tastings for specific dishes, elevating the entire meal. And let's not forget about our server, Jessie, who was incredibly attentive and friendly. Service makes or break a dining experience, and I must tip my hat to the team at table culture provision. Keep up the phenomenal work! Looking forward to coming back. Also that was the best pasta of my life.
google avatar

Yelp
Where to begin.. from the moment you walk in you know you're in for a very special evening. The decor, fixtures, paint and even the music convey an experience ..not just a meal. I've never spent this much for a meal and I've never had a culinary experience that matched this level of attention to every detail. This meal was a life experience that we will all remember and cherish. The indoor seating is limited and can get a bit warm if it's hot outside so dress accordingly. Danny was our server/maître d' who did an amazing job.
google avatar

Don L.

Yelp
The 7-course tasting menu was sublime, except for a merely good vegetarian substitution for the steak course. Each dish involved an astonishing combination of tastes and textures, most with exquisite foams. French onion tarte, egg dish and sea bass were favorites. Appreciated the slight modification of certain courses to accommodate a lactose-intolerant diner. Service was impeccable, gorgeous lighting, simple yet pleasant decor. We preferred the indoor dining to the charming patio with too much traffic noise. While still pricey ($125, service incl.), Table Culture offers far better value than many other North Bay Area fixed price menus.

Yelp
I have to keep reviewing, because they keep evolving into a new experience. The dinner we had last night was phenomenal. TCP has turned into a destination special occasion restaurant. It's a tasting menu. You get 7 courses of creative and delicious food served in an intimate and personal environment. The last time we ate here (ages ago), it was a la carte, with creative comfort food dishes like fried chicken. It seems they're taking a different approach now of high-end dining, and it really works! Petaluma needs a place like this.

Yelp
Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect as I found out about TCP through an article in Sonoma Magazine. I'm always up to try a new spot so I booked it for the day after my birthday on Jan 20th. We arrived and was seated by the a small table for 2 by the window (they also have outdoor patio seating). We got a view of some bushes and Pinky's across the street. The interior was very small and intimate with some 9 tables. The atmosphere was dimly lit with a cool chill relaxing vibe. The music playing was mostly electronic/chill hop/downtempo think: Télépopmusik and Sneaker Pimps. I felt like I was miles away in a hidden gem of a restaurant. We had 2 servers throughout the night. They were informative about the dishes being served and had some light engagement with us. From where I was seated, I was able to look into the kitchen and saw the chef and team working! From some of the reviews, I saw 5, 7, and 10 courses. However, we had a set menu of 6 dishes for the night (substitution available if you mentioned it in your reservation beforehand). It was $115 per person before drinks and mandatory 20% gratuity added to your bill. The whole dining experience for 6 courses was 1.5 hours. NOW the FOOD is definitely a foodie heaven. Each course was innovative, delicious, tasteful, unique and well presented. We enjoyed the sun choke soup and chips. The focaccia bread was amazing! You can dip it in the soup for more flavor. The foraged mushroom had rice inside mixed with 5 different types of mushrooms. Prawns tortellini and lobster sauce was one of my favorites along with the rib eye. The goat cheese mousse was so unique! You can still taste the goat cheese but usually it's really strong but when added with the sour of the huckleberries, it worked so well! For my birthday, the flourless chocolate cake came out with a candle. Very sweet. To end it all another 2 pieces of cold chocolates on a bed of coffee beans. If you appreciate unique, well made food, this is a MUST TRY.

Yelp
We've always really enjoyed Chef Stephane's food, having been a big fan of his since he took the reins at The Shuckery. When he opened TCP in the Wishbone space, the menu focused a lot on comfort food and it was one of our favorite brunch spots. When we heard they signed a lease on the south side of town, we were ecstatic to be just a few minutes drive away. The new location is small and very intimate (they probably don't have more than 6-7 tables) and was beautifully converted from the Chili Joe's that previously occupied the space (props to the designer/architect in charge of this project). We really love the recent-ish pivot to more of a fine dining menu and have been 3-4 times since. The chef and his team are super creative, delivering unique dishes that highlight and accentuate the best in-season, local produce and products, while not overshadowing the fresh, high quality ingredients. The menu seems to undergo major changes once per season, but even week to week, there can be small changes. They recently added variations of their prix fixe menu that offer fewer courses for those that may be a bit more conscious of their waistline and/or budget. Yes, by Petaluma standards, it's fairly expensive. It's expensive to eat out anywhere right now, and while the price may prevent us from eating there every week, we love coming for special occasions and always leave extremely happy (and full beyond belief) for the experience and food/wine we receive for the price. With the addition of a somm recently, their wine list is also quite a bit more extensive. Not only do they offer more wines by the glass, they also seem to have 10x as many bottles available, including some cult classics like Screaming Eagle. We look forward to continuing to support this local gem!

Yelp
Went last night for a special dinner. My father's B-day. And they did not disappoint. We had the 7 course tasting menu. I did bring 3 bottles of wine (Champagne, Overture, and a dessert wine). The Sommelier did a fantastic job preserving the wine, keeping it at its optimal temperature and added a bit of panache to our meal. The atmosphere/vibe is elegant. The lighting inside, makes you feel like you are moon gazing at every table. Now let's talk about the food. AMAZING!!! You are eating at a 3 star Michelin restaurant. Yes, 3 stars. It is a travesty that Table Culture Provision's is not on their radar. Would compare them to The French Laundry any day. Oh I almost forgot. They even gave us a little spot to hold my father's B-day cake. This should be on everyone's radar.

Yelp
Read about this restaurant in Sonoma Mag online and really wanted to give it a try while we were in town for the holidays and it did not disappoint. We love multi-course tasting menus as you get a sampling of what the chef has to offer, we were impressed with the quality of food, the flavor pairings and the presentation, and the wine pairing was good too. Apparently, there will be a sake pairing soon, so may need to come back for that.

Yelp
Fabulous dinner last night, it was their new fall tasting menu. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. They were very accommodating about a food allergy. Dinning room is cozy and comfortable. The service was excellent, friendly and professional.

Yelp
This place was amazing for my b day party. Had 11 people in the group and spent 4 hours eating and drinking impeccable food and wine. Great service and not pretentious.

Yelp
I listened to a discussion on NPR Marketplace on our economy that briefly discussed how Americans are spending money on life experiences such as, unique adventures, resort hotels and restaurants. Table Culture Provisions(TCP) is a life experience using service and food as a vehicle to showcase their creative use of food presentation, enhancing the flavors of food by using various techniques and ingredients. First, TCP is expensive so I had high expectations on perfection. Our server, Danny was perfection in his friendly demeanor, and remembering us from another local restaurant. He extemporaneously described the wines and food without hesitation or a pause. When Danny answered any questions, he would look at us with confidence in describing the wine and food. Second, we enjoyed the food presentation and a local chef said " The food presentation has to look appealing," The use of a thin pretzel crisp shaped like a flower or a a couple of tablespoons of strawberry sorbet shaped like a canela are few examples of how the use of intricate designs enhanced the food presentation. Third, the tasting menu is a variety of food using a selection of vegetables, meat and seafood. The French onion tart and pork belly was outstanding, along with the onion broth that cleansed the palate. The Egg-O which is runny yolk with mushroom and burrata cheese was superb coupled with the Parker rolls that can be smothered with brown butter which was absolutely hands down a party on the palate. Fourth, reiterating that TCP is an expensive life experience, I unfortunately, could not be compelled to give TCP five stars because there were a few misses. The octopus was chewy so in other words it was overcooked. The octopus was sous vide, and usually sous vide tenderizes food. However, with octopus, a different method for cooking octopus would be using a pressure cooker, then quickly sear on a very hot grill. The sea bass, although cooked perfectly, was not fresh. Fresh seafood has no after taste and no odor. The aged steak was a New York Strip steak which was chewy instead of using a better quality of meat like PRIME beef tenderloin that is cooked and seasoned to perfection. Fifth, the desserts were incredible. Peach Melba, Summer Pavola and a surprise of raspberry macarons and dark chocolate lychee was outstanding. The wine pairing was excellent. Perfect selections of wine to pair with the tasting menu. Sixth, the question is would return to TCP. Probably not, I had my once in a lifetime experience.

Yelp
I just can't do five stars for the service or the food and wine pairing . Extra $85 for the 7each 2 oz pours Five out of the seven wine pairings were decent, but not memorable. !!?? Service: on point, well educated & friendly! We had three different servers (at a nine tables restaurant) Restaurant opens at 5 pm We were seated at 5:15 Our first pairing came out at 5:35. I enjoyed the 10 course my wife did the seven course. She was not happy with the white wines (5 of them) The First Bubbly, was her fav. No Honorable mention after that. I was happy with the pairings, couple of the white wines were way too acidic for me , But when we got to the desert, they served a 10-year-old port, with a very tart citrusy desert major no-no for me!!! So definitely tiny bites all the way through. It's 9pm ...,I'm at home I'm hungry. $555.00 after a $50 tip gratuity is included. To leave on a good note ...,,the first course onion rings second course the mushroom was amazing and the pasta was amazing Hipster loud music for a small restaurant and cold. I believe it was 45° outside but they had the fans on inside My wife wanted to put her jacket on after the 1st course. 90% of the guests were wearing jackets. I can't say it would go back for this experience. I truly hate sawing this because I love to support the smaller businesses. I just don't see the value here! They did have two California wines, One red blend from Mendocino and another from Napa but the first five whites were all from all of the country. The red blend from Mendocino was ok None of the wine stood out to me at all whatsoever.not one I think I just become a California wine snob! Honorable mention to the Granache rosé was a good pairing.

Yelp

Yelp
The good The service and food presentation were both excellent. The not so good The food quality was really so so only. The worst dish of the whole tasting menu was the beef fillet. The beef fillet tasted like it was purchased from Safeway when it's on sale. My friend made a comment that the steak she had at Texas Roadhouse a couple of days ago was better. That should give you an idea on the quality of the beef. I feel the restaurant is trying to use inexpensive ingredients to create "fine dining" experience but sadly I can taste the subpar quality ingredients. The portion was also small which was expected. And I feel the dishes were also overly seasoned. Perhaps it's an attempt to conceal the subpar quality ingredients. The food wasn't awful just not fine dining standard. All and all were just a meh experience and I can't recommend this place.

Yelp
I have had Michelin star meals. This is one of the BEST meals/dining experiences I have EVER had. You will be licking your plate clean each and every dish that's served. Jesse James took us through the experience and was awesome.

Yelp
The best restaurant and experience Petaluma has ever had, since De Schmire ( if you know you know). Petaluma has some good places to eat but if you want a truly fine food and dinning experience- this is it. Prefix menu only so look at website to see what the current menu has. It's a lot more but adding the wine pairing was worth it. Their Sommelier is knowledgeable and the wine's delicious.

Yelp
So glad we stumbled upon this gem of an eatery during our short one night stay in Petaluma. We made a last minute (one hour ahead!) reservation for 4 online ($10 per person deposit) and were seated right on time at 7:30 on Saturday. It's a tiny place (but not cramped), with seating for about 20 people inside, and another 15-20 on the patio. We opted for the 5 course dinner, having overdone ourselves on a wine tasting earlier in the afternoon. The main entree was listed as rib eye, we asked if there was an alternative since most of us lean pescetarian-ish. And there was! But anyway, 3 of us still got the rib eye because it sounded good, and 1 of us swapped for halibut. I won't describe each dish since prix fixe is kind of about being surprised along the journey. But all the dishes were delicious. I loved that a few were integrated with a bread of sorts (I love bread). Tbh that rib eye dish was the least interesting of our meal - in case the chef is open to feedback, I found it kind of difficult to get a coordinated bite together with the plum and beef being a little hard to cut relative to the diced veg. With a firm plum, maybe thin slices on top of the steak would be easier to get a balanced forkful? Absolutely would come back if I were in the area. $90 for the 5 course meal, $18 gratuity pre-added onto the check (per person). We didn't get the wine tasting (I think they said $60 for the 5-course) which I think was the right call since our pacing for wine would have been way slower than the meal, which was served up pretty quickly.

Yelp
Amazing experience! They even went above and beyond for my sons partner who is vegan. She said "It was the best vegan food she's ever had" If you really really love food, go here... (You're welcome)9

Yelp
I had been dying to try this restaurant for the first time and decided to take my boyfriend here for his birthday. The dining room is quite small but perfectly intimate. I requested a non crowded table and they obliged, giving us the "best table in the house", the Chef's table. Right from the beginning I was very pleased. They offered two different pairings, one wine and one sake. I chose to do the sake, such a fun option! We chose to do the full seven course meal and all I can say is WOW. Flavor: 10/10, Texture 10/10, Presentation 10/10!! The sakes all paired beautifully and generous pours. I learned a great deal about sake which was interesting and fun. The beef tartare and daily fresh made pasta course were out of this world! Everything we tasted was beyond incredible. And lastly, the DESSERTS. They have a French pastry chef preparing all of the desserts and they are to die for. They even gave us an extra dessert course for his birthday that was sooo heavenly. Service was outstanding- very impressive sommelier, as well as our server Jackie guiding us through each course carefully and attentively. It is obvious that everyone who works here, Chefs and front of house, take pride in what they do and are very talented. We will absolutely be back and look forward to attending your social hour as well! Thank you for giving us an evening we won't soon forget. See you next time!

Yelp
On Friday night, my husband and I made a last minute reservation online for 8:15pm. We usually aren't the last minute type and TCPs reservations fill up quick so we got lucky! Building: We sat inside, which is quaint. They do have outdoor seating. This spot it easy to miss on the boulevard. It's not in the downtown hustle bustle, but I think it is fitting for the business. It's like a hidden gem with top notch food. Food: kicking myself for forgetting to take photos of the menu, but I got photos of the dishes. We had the choice of a small or large tasting menu options and we went large. It was amount of plate rather than "larger" dishes. This is a small "tasting" dish type spot packed with flavor that just goes so well together. Each dish compliments the next. Drinks: beer, wine, and nonalcoholic options. Tasty selection. Feel: Here, you feel taken care of. It is intimate. Our server was exceptional, just the right level of engagement and respecting our privacy for our date night. She kept out water glasses full and each plate coming out once we finished the last. The lighting is dim, the walls are simple, and you get a peak into the kitchen with team who is preparing your delicious plates. Price: we paid $265 + tip and that was ordering two large tasting options and two glasses of wine. Overall, very nice experience here. A wonderful food experience and it is so good to support a small business. We love petaluma.

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at TC Provisions, and we are so glad that we did. We ordered the 7-course menu and the chef offered a pescatarian version of the menu, which was much appreciated. They also had a number of solid non-alcoholic drink options for my husband. Each dish was a work of art and tasted amazing. The interior design is thoughtful and seating is surprising private for a small space. The service was impeccable and the entire evening was a wonderful experience. We were comparing it with our experience at The French Laundry and in the future would choose TC Provisions over French Laundry in a hearbeat.

Yelp
Perfection. TCP is the best kept secret of Petaluma. We popped in on a Tuesday and had no clue it was 'Tasting Tuesday', which is the prefix menu only option. I'm a pretty picky eater and was hesitant at first...but my goodness, I couldn't have picked a better spot to explore unfamiliar foods. The wait staff at TCP is unmatched. They are so knowledgeable with the menu and have a passion for Chef Stéphane's creations. Now that we've completed our first tasting experience at TCP, who wouldn't be passionate?! The food was farm to table fresh with seasonal ingredients. The meal started with a tempura style Squash onion rings (unmatched) and ended with a goat cheese cheesecake with strawberries and a balsamic drizzle. YUM! Everything in between was just as good as the next, with the exception of the tomahawk steak, which was the best I ever had. We may make this a Tuesday tradition.

Yelp
Had a very enjoyable dinner here. Staff were fantastic, and the food was incredible. Went for the 7 courses, and think that is the way to go.
