We came in around 40 minutes before closing & sat at the bar. I'm glad we did!
We got to meet the owner, Keon. I thought the woman, I forget her name, was the owner as we usually see her & Ms. Eljean there. Keon was tending bar that night & we learned a little about him.
The place has been revamped! It's beautiful inside! There were also some changes to the menu & additions indicative of the upscale dining experience.
I ordered the paper plane! It's bourbon based with a little twist. It's dangerously good! I would've ordered another if I wasn't driving & could've slept at the bar lol. The presentation of this drink is an experience.
I was disappointed to see the Harvest Salad wasn't on the menu anymore. Before he told us he was the owner, he offered to see if they could make it with what they had on hand. I'm thinking, what great customer service!!! He came back & said they could make it. I'm so glad we sat at the bar as I'm not sure the servers could've pulled this off lol. I added shrimp & they were large, well-seasoned, & cooked to perfection! Another way Keon went above & beyond was to make some fresh strawberry vinaigrette for the salad! He whipped it up in no time! VERY IMPRESSIVE! It was only after all this went down & we were eating that we got to talking and we learned about his ownership. He just came off as a very attentive bartender; very humble.
My husband ordered the teriyaki rice bowl with shrimp & chicken. He thoroughly enjoyed it as always.
There are more exciting things in store for this wonderful establishment, & I'm here for all of it!
Please support this black owned wonderful restaurant. There's nothing else like it in Douglasville or West GA that I know of! You won't be disappointed.

It's good to finally have a good, non-chain restaurant in Douglasville. It being a black-owned restaurant is extra nice!
They play great music. It's a grown & sexy vibe, real chill. A place you want to sit at the bar and watch a game, have some drinks & food, and bob your head to the music.
The bar area is nice. They have contemporary tables inside, the igloo seating outside, live music occasionally on the patio. The space is utilized well.
What we ordered (this has been in my drafts so long I don't know when I ordered these things smh) Extra side of the Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese & the Butcher Cut Lamb Chops with Sauteed Asparagus; all very good & well-seasoned.
Bread pudding hints of white chocolate in traditional bread pudding. Not my favorites, but if you like traditional bread pudding you may love it.
The Midnight Smash is my favorite here! I don't always know the name but I know it's the drink with blackberries and bourbon lol.
On a recent visit Friday night of the Memorial Day Weekend, KD, the new bartender was there and waited on us as we sat at the bar. He was friendly and attentive (old; smh..this has been sitting in my drafts for almost a year! Shameful I know. We've been back probably a dozen times, if not more since this.
They have live music, which we've enjoyed, The Band Smoke here a couple times.
They also have brunch. I've only been once and it was a couple years ago.
The menu isn't expansive, but there are quality items & ingredients on it. Douglasville has been needing this!
Let's see, the buffalo cauliflower is amazing! The Lobster Eljean, named after the owner's mom, who you can often find greeting guests at the door, is delicious. Initially, it was the lobster tail. I think the last time we had it, it was lobster bites. The supply chain & rising costs are likely the reason for this change. It's still delicious!
The lemon pepper wings are good.
The chicken, spinach, &feta burger is good.
The harvest salad is one of my favorites! It has berries, candied pecans, goat cheese, picked red onions, & strawberry vinaigrette. You can add protein to it.
My husband loves the teriyaki rice bowls and usually gets 2-3 proteins added.
Try this gem in Douglasville. You won't be disappointed.
We've been turned away for arriving too late a couple times. Get there BEFORE 30 minutes before closing. They're nice about it.
The bathrooms & restaurant have always been clean when I've come. The staff are friendly & nice.
I'm glad they're here & survived the pandemic!
