"Taco Heads in the Cultural District boasts that their margarita is the best in Texas, and we’d have to agree. It’s the perfect drink to sip on their covered patio, situated between the restaurant and cantina, especially on Mondays (when margaritas are $5). When it comes to tacos here, the simpler the better. Our standing order is the Mama Castillo’s chicken taco and a carnitas taco (add grilled jalapeño), alongside their sweetcorn chips and guac." - Emily Smith

Oh this was so good. And the staff were super friendly. I had a strawberry watermelon marg that was a good size + delicious. The food was SO good. We had an assortment of tacos, but I had the chicken, the carnitas, and added a shrimp taco for +$2. All 10 out of 10. The rice and beans (specifically the beans) were also very, very good. The vibe was a step above smart casual. I would easily go back.

Taco Heads is a decent restaurant with pretty good food! My Wife, friends and I stumbled across it when we went to explore the Stockyards. We all ordered a different appetizer: Queso, Guac and Fire Salsa all with chips! They were all good, especially the Fire Salsa! The chips were also bigger than regular tortilla chips and tasted fairly good. It had all the vibes of a good restaurant - what was lacking was the quality of the service. It took a while for us to get our food and we were the only people in the restaurant for a majority of the waiting time. The servers and staff were very nice! It was a Friday night so I'll cut them some slack. The tacos were savory and had a creative mix of veggies and meat. My favorites were the Al pastor and Shrimp tacos! If they improve the quality of their service and lower customer waiting times, Taco Heads has the potential to be good restaurant. My Wife also has some thoughts of her own: "We visited taco heads a few weeks ago and it was ok! The service took a long time and we were one of the only people in the restaurant but the food was alright. The chips are thick so if you order salsa or queso beware they are filling! They do taste pretty good and the queso is delicious! The tacos were good but nothing memorable. I got pastor and beef I think. I’d try it again another time but would order something different."

First time to eat here when in Ft. Worth. Some of the best Mexican food we've ever had! Great service and a ton of food! And some of the best beans I've ever eaten! Great drinks too. Great atmosphere!

Google
Good happy hour deals, lovely margarita. Server was friendly. Air-conditioning wasn't on so roasting inside. £5 margaritas on Monday 👌

Google
Everyone was so amazingly nice. Place was clean and very cute decor. Quickly orders street tacos, chips and salsa to go. Three kinds of salsa’s – – flavorful with a kick, green, and very spicy. Chips were freshly made and very crispy. Saturday morning and they were already out of steak. Small menu. Gorgeous covered eating area outside— newsflash - if you’re eating in Texas in summer, yes, it will be hot outside and sometimes even inside. Don’t blame us Texans! Very quick to order (in person) and waited hardly any time. Would love to try a margarita when I’m back in the area.

Me and my family came here for dinner last night and we were not disappointed. We were able to get a seat quickly and the service was very good. Now the food was amazing! The portion size was just huge! The flavors were all good. The restaurant environment was great. Candyce (Waitress) was awesome. The only thing I was disappointed in was the drinks.

Google
We visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday and it was absolutely lovely. The vibe is amazing-chill and laid back. We sat on the patio. There’s a covered walk-up bar as well as plentiful indoor seating. The food was delicious!! We ordered specialty tacos, black beans, a jalapeño margarita, pina colada, and were treated to samples of their pina colada and pork belly taco. Their chips & salsa were incredible and all of the food was fresh and made with TLC. We were treated like loyal customers and would definitely recommend this restaurant!!! Be prepared to experience great customer service and eat some delicious food. If you’re a taco head-this is your spot!!! The restrooms/establishment were also very clean. They honor military veterans which is extremely important to us. 2 hour complimentary parking is also offered for their guests which is a plus while visiting the Stockyards.

Kara was so friendly and welcoming. My margarita lived up to the “best in Texas” claim. The charred avocado and roasted corn taco was SO delicious, and the caramel churros I will remember forever. The prices were very reasonable. You must go here!!!

Stephanie W.

Yelp
I recently went to Taco Head, who served some of the best tacos, elote, and margaritas I've ever had! The tacos were absolutely delicious, with perfectly seasoned meat and fresh toppings. The elote was a fantastic side. And the margaritas were refreshing and had the perfect balance of sweetness and tang. If you're looking for a spot with great food and drinks, this place is definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
Rancid fish taco was served. They did the right thing and comped it. But wow it was horrible. Don't order a fish taco here.

Michael H.

Yelp
Points for the atmosphere and the location. Had the chicken, beef and brisket tacos. Looked great on the plate, but none of the meats tasted like they had any seasoning on them. Just bland. Would return for a drink, maybe.

Melanie A.

Yelp
This place was so cute but so disappointing- something went wrong every step of the way. The pitcher of margaritas that was $60 ($12/margarita) did not have fresh lime juice and it poured only 4 glasses- it would have been cheaper if we had gotten 4 margaritas separately. Our waitress told us it serves 5-6. The guacamole we ordered for appetizer had an entire half of an avocado that no one could cut through and we had to send it back to be mashed. So awkward to tell a TexMex spot how to make proper guacamole. The quesadilla I ordered came in taco form (bizarre) with a side of guacamole that also had huge pieces of avocado that could not be scooped onto my "quesadilla". Everyone's tacos broke in the middle because the tortillas were fried and the grease was leaking out of them from the meat. Do not eat here - there are so many cool places to eat in the area for tex mex that aren't so bad.

Keasha E.

Yelp
Went in for lunch, it wasn't crowded so there was no wait on a table, our server was helpful and friendly. The shrimp tacos were good, brisket tacos a little dry, chips and salsa were good. Restaurant was quiet and clean.

Yelp
This was my first time going here and I was craving for real Mexican Food. When I stumble upon this place it looked spacious outside and clean. As I enter the place was empty and unwanted vibes. My server was awesome, she was very welcoming and warm. The owner on the other hand was very cold and unbothered. The one thing I hate about restaurant is when they take someone's else culture and food and try to make it into theirs. And that's what this place did. Come to find out the original owners was Mexican lady and the new owner tried to change all her recipes beside one. I really enjoyed the steak tacos . The meat was very flavorful with lime on top. The charro's was nasty having Carmel inside. Of them. I like the original one better. The street corn belongs on a cob not a bowl and the rice had no flavor and I had to add salt. There's no place to park so your going to find a place to park outside of the restaurant and walk your way to it. Stop taking things that never belonged to you and changing it. If you want to cook your culture food go and do that. I'm giving this place a 3 star because the steak tacos and the server did a wonderful job.

Arlene R.

Yelp
Ok.... Let me start by saying that the bartender who helped me was amazing! She was quick, friendly, honest, and made me a good Bloody Mary! She had me try REYKA vodka and it was soooo good, smooth and crisp not harsh at all Ambiance is trendy, it's totally hipster! They had the football game on so it was a happening place, that I enjoyed being in. The food... I ordered the carnitas taco and the Al pastor taco... I really enjoyed the carnitas taco Now let me tell you about the Al pastor. It is NOT traditional, not the flavor, not the texture, not the way it's cooked. Honestly I don't know why they call it Al pastor... so while I didn't get what I thought I was going to get; the flavor was good but be prepared to have a paté taco. It's a little messy to eat and if you enjoy a kick of spice this will be enjoyed. If you at the stockyards, and don't feel like a stake, check this place out!

Michael B.

Yelp
Definitely a hard pass on Taco Heads. You're paying $5 or more for a taco that's way less satisfying than anything comparable. They're over priced and really disappointing. The tortillas aren't made in house and taste like something off the grocery store shelf with a little butter added. You could likely get a taco three times better at half the cost. The interior is pretty and you'll probably have fun here with friends, but not because of the food.

Deshia W.

Yelp
This place was dirty. The table was not clean. We received dirty glasses as well as the table next to us. They ended up sending their food back and leaving. Service was also slow. My shrimp and fish tacos were cold, nasty, dry and unseasoned. I had to ask for sour cream and mild sauce twice. The quesadillas were the freshest at the table. My husband asked for 1 refill because they never came back to check on us and the waitress rolled her eyes and said "ok". 0 out of 10 DO NOT recommend.

Rolinda D.

Yelp
$82 bucks for three super small tacos, a burrito with no sides and three margaritas. Wayyyyy over rated. We complained about the runny cold queso and the waitress said oh that's just how it's made. Then caught an attitude because we didn't want it. Yeah we won't be back. Attaching a pic of the burrito my hubby order no side nada just the burrito...$19 bucks just stupid.

Iván L.

Yelp
Good drinks and Guacamole is on point . Fast service Bartender is nice and makes good drinks

Tyler K.

Yelp
Yummy food! And refreshing ice cold margaritas! I ordered the taco place with a side of charro beans. The tacos were very well portioned and I dumped fresh salsa on top. The service was excellent! The girl was super friendly and down to earth. The atmosphere was very trendy and modern. Overall a great experience!

Paul H.

Yelp
Went on a Tuesday night and service was so slow I had to leave before I placed my order. I have no idea if the food is good and never will..

Dusty A.

Yelp
Wow this place is trash! It started by us seating ourselves and cleaning our own table. I have never in all my years going to restaurant's heard a manager tell their staff "the kitchen is backed up right now, do not put in any new orders for 15 minutes". I ordered an old fashioned and they gave us a shot of whiskey on ice. The Paloma my wife ordered literally tasted like dirt and floor cleaner. The queso was cold and when we ordered tacos they tell us "there is no avocado or STEAK"! That's when we tabbed out. I feel bad for the server's here trying to make tips off this trash food and drinks. Looking around the restaurant maybe half the tables had customers. Absolutely no leadership from managers or ownership. Do better Taco Heads. You're a taco place at the STOCKYARDS! Should be the best of the best.

Clara E.

Yelp
Taco Heads has a fun vibe in the stockyards. The parking was a challenge because of some kind of local event but you're able to park free in the adjoining lot for 2 hours. I ordered the guac and the avocado , brisket, and carnitas tacos on corn tortillas. All the food was solid and the salsas were quite flavorful. Our server,Candy, was kind and attentive as well. I will definitely return bc I want to experience the happy hour. Go check them out.

Carmen B.

Yelp
Such a good vibe here at the bar! Good music and amazing bartender service!! Erika is amazing and needs a raise here at Taco heads !

Danielle R.

Yelp
This place was so good! We went on an almost rainy morning, so the place was pretty empty. We had amazing tacos and margaritas at the bar. Our bartender was great, very friendly and gave us great recommendations on things to do around there. I loved the cucumber jalapeño margarita! definitely will return again soon!

Brent L.

Yelp
Come for the food and enjoy patio weather! We have been coming to Taco Heads for year. They have one of the best patios in the city, Well to honest, the restaurant is mostly patio seating at the Montgomery location, but it's still one of the best. The tacos are always top notch and the service is impeccable even during a rush. This place is on our short list of go to spots. The fish taco is superb, but my favorite is the chorizo, egg, and cheese. Pro tip: Check and make sure that Dickie's Arena is not having an event or you might be waiting a bit to get seated.

Joe L.

Yelp
The food is good and the service is usually quick. The drinks are good here, and it's a good spot to stop at if you're not feeling BBQ or whatever is around the stock yards area.

Nikki L.

Yelp
I came in today with some family visiting from up north & they were raving about it! I got the chicken and the brisket tacos and both were very tasty. Everyone else got a mix of the fish, shrimp, and carnitas tacos and they LOVED them. We were on a time crunch before they had to get to the airport, and we were served very quickly as well. I'm pregnant right now but they are very excited to come back for us to have some margaritas as well!

Ethan B.

Yelp
I got a 3 taco plate with chicken, brisket, and steak. They were all so good. I think the best part of this plate was the charro beans which had the best flavor with the spice it had. Finished those off before the tacos, for sure. This place is very open with a large patio to enjoy the atmosphere of the Stockyards and the people. We were well taken care of by the staff as they were super nice. You have hit and miss places in the Stockyards when it comes to customer service, but this was just perfect.

Sara F.

Yelp
Took awhile to be waited on but then had a great one. The quesadilla was delicious as was my margarita with a little Dos Equis bottle. Fun vibe. Friends thought the tacos were so so but loved their drinks.

Susan T.

Yelp
The food was very good but not outstanding. Service was just ok but that could have been due to the fact it was about 1:30 pm. Surprised that they do not serve iced tea. I will go again but maybe at a different location.

Hirokazu W.

Yelp
In Japan, I was treated as a mentally ill person, ignored by other Japanese people, lonely and extremely difficult to live. The waiters at the tacos restaurant here are very friendly, and even though I am Japanese, they treated me with a smile. And the tacos were also very delicious. Not only the tacos restaurant here, but also the bus driver, the staff at the motel where I stayed... The people of Fort Worth are all different from the cold Japanese and the people of Silicon Valley. On the afternoon of February 26th, I went this taco restaurant, but I accidentally left my jumper behind and got on the bus on the way home. Maybe I threw it away, but I'd like to revisit it someday and tell the story of the jumper I left behind.

Mae M.

Yelp
Came for a quick bite and for a Friday night, it was not busy at all. Service was friendly and fast. We ordered a taco plate with 3 steak tacos that come with beans and an order of the garlic cilantro gulf shrimp taco. We also got an elote that was served in a small looking pan rather than on the cob. We of course expected the place to be a bit pricier since it was close to the busy strip. Their outdoor patio seating was very nice during nighttime.

Patrick B.

Yelp
Nice place just off the beaten path near the Fort Worth Stockyards. Fresh taco's with good flavor. Good service and ambiance. We will be back!

Nikkia P.

Yelp
This is a good place to have a few drinks and some yummy tacos too. The service was quick

Staci C.

Yelp
Love 2$ taco Tuesday! Their queso is the best around and their fresh crunchy tortilla chips are delicious- they don't disappoint- try their happy hour too!

Sierra P.

Yelp
AMAZING SPOT IN FORT WORTH!!!! LOVE HANNAH! Centrally located, but quiet and calm during the day as the hustle and bustle of the nearby stockyards brings customers. The bartender Hannah excitedly took our order and smiled -- which feels rare today in customer service. The staff in general was helpful , accommodating, and knowledgeable about the city of Fort Worth. The food came promptly and was super yummy. Please check out Taco Heads if you're in Fort Worth!! And ask for hannah!!! She will make your day!

Julia D.

Yelp
I came on a Tuesday for breakfast around 9:30am and the place was empty, but open! It's fast casual so you order up at the counter, get a buzzer you put on your table, and then they bring your order to you. There's seating inside (super cute vibes) or outside (they have big fans to keep you cool too!) which is great. I got the chorizo egg breakfast taco (so yummy) and veggie egg breakfast taco with added avo (peppers and onions for veggies) and I loved both! I probably would have been fine with just one taco but was able to eat both and thought they were both great. Service was great, the food was so yummy and quick, and the space is SO cute. Love love love!

Ariana A.

Yelp
I always come here for happy hour!!! Love this place They have the best drinks and food in the stockyards !!!

Doug B.

Yelp
Great margaritas, good service and the food was excellent. Place was clean and sat quickly.

Sarah L.

Yelp
Very cute set up. You can sit inside or out. Friendly staff that was very patient with us. We were the last to leave and didn't get any side eyes. Everything was delicious. Grabbed some margaritas and had a great time. Would highly recommend.

Jaclyn V.

Yelp
Margaritas were watered nowhere's near the best in Texas, Not good. The food had no flavor. The queso was good.

Paul P.

Yelp
Taqueria centrally located to the stockyards offering tacos with lots of meat for a good price. Service was great too.

Eliza A.

Yelp
Best food And drinks my daughter loves their quesadillas and their churros with ice cream!! Taco Tuesday is my favorite

Kendall S.

Yelp
Taco Heads was a welcome refuge for us after a long day of Stockyards-ing. I enjoy tiny historical buildings and dark damp bars, cows and dust, leather and steakhouses, and all things western as much as the next person, but sometimes you need a little break from it all. Taco Heads is bright and spacious. It's modern with colorful Southern vibes, and it has a great patio/deck out front overlooking Main St. It's a super short walk from Exchange Street so you're still amongst all the fun Stockyards' commotion, just a bit to the side for a breath of fresh air. Their menu has all the good stuff... elote, queso, spicy shrimp ceviche, quesadillas, nachos. Bourbon black beans. Several signature tacos that all sound rad. Breakfast tacos. And a few fantastic desserts like Mexican chocolate cookies served warm from Stir Crazy Baked Goods and fresh pineapple cut to order, topped with chili powder. I was feeling tired, hungry, and unadventurous when I arrived, so I just ordered two crispy beef tacos. They were so good! Very simple, just spicy ground beef, green cabbage, onion, cilantro, and queso fresco. Loved every bite.

Bradley B.

Yelp
Had a delicious lunch today. Tacos were fantastic, chips and salsa were uniquely savory, and the beans were among the best I've had. Air conditioning felt great. The one problem was flies--this restaurant needs to get a handle on indoor flies. There are methods--

Rick M.

Yelp
Stopped here for a late lunch, had a couple of tacos and a couple of margaritas. Nicole was very friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. Initially ordered the "Bourbon Black Bean Veggie" taco on a corn tortilla (sorry no photo) with a pineapple Jalapeño margarita later added a "Pan Fried Papa's & Egg" taco (see photo) and another P/J Marg, minor oops on second taco when I got a flour instead of a corn tortilla....but it was still good. Team effort brought me drinks and food. Loved the way they back each other up. Sat on the front deck and enjoyed the view as people came and went in the stockyards.

Nelson C.

Yelp
I am going to start with the food thst is the most positive. The flavor of the food is very good quality. The service is the part that needs to work. First thing I feel invicible after 25 minutes of wait with an empty restaurant a server decide to attend us. the ambience is good with good music. To me is very important the service. If I come to texas again I would not come back.

Christine D.

Yelp
10/10 let me explain.. stopped in on a slow Monday afternoon and was greeted politely and sat immediately. We started off with the monday margarita special which was a $5 Best of Texas margarita and it was delish!! Loved the tajin rim I chose! We got our order of chips and salsa and it was hot, fresh, and SO good! Not too spicy, and the chips are dusted in a taco seasoning. The tacos were fantastic and giant portions! The shrimp tacos had 3-4 shrimp per taco and loaded with flavor and very well cooked! The chicken chicken tacos were some of the best I've tried! Juicy, tender, and slow cooked chicken paired extremely well with the partnering flavors. The plates come with charro beans, a whole bowl of them! These were so enjoyable, fresh and hot. Yum! The tacos are served with a red and a green salsa. If you're not a spice person, go for green.. it's flavorful and tangy! If you like heat, go for the red! Packs a delicious punch. Overall, the atmosphere is clean, great music, and modern western flare with tasteful furniture and neon signage. The bathrooms are clean, the staff is friendly and the patio/bar are super inviting!! We will be back!!

Uyen V.

Yelp
The restaurant itself was beautiful, very esthetically pleasing but the food was below average. The queso was really bland, it just tasted like water. We both for 1 taco each and it took a while to come out even though the restraint wasn't that busy. The flavor of the meats were great even though the tacos came out lukewarm, and the tortillas were stale and cold/hard. I wouldn't mind it taking that long if the food came out hot and fresh, but that did not seem to be the case.

Vincent C.

Yelp
I normally don't leave poor reviews, but I recommend never going here. We were the only customers here with 3 waitresses, our table was never cleaned, the waitress came out to us 20 minutes after we ordered and told us they lost the order, did I mention we were the only ones at the restaurant...HORRIBLE!

Keith W.

Yelp
Ordered 2 tacos that came out cold. The table was dirty and my god son glass was dirty. The waiter seemed to have an attitude when I asked her for a refill on a kid cup she bought me. I don't recommend this place at all.

Kay L.

Yelp
We came as a family for a quick lunch around 12:15 pm. We go to the Montgomery location quite a bit, so we figured it would be about the same length of time Our appetizer came out and the chips and guac were delicious as always. We ordered our tacos and thirty minutes later, still nothing. Someone then came out and said that they didn't have any chicken so what other meat would we like. We weren't given a menu or anything and just ordered ground beef out of feeling rushed. Our meal took an additional twenty minutes after the change in order. The ground beef ended up being cold and tasteless and our bill wasn't compensated all and the original chicken items were on the receipt, but we wanted out so we just paid and left. My husband asked for the bill right away as they brought out our items because we had to get going, and they took 15 minutes to grab it even though he voiced we were ready to go. Will not be coming back to this location and stick with the one on Montgomery.

Julia L.

Yelp
Sarai and Erica were the best! The food was so good and the service was amazing. They take the time to make sure you order something you like and that you feel well taken care of. Definitely coming back :)

Ethan W.

Yelp
Sarai was great, quality service and good conversation! Complimented my dog and brought food out in timely manner.

Jenna W.

Yelp
Great food, great service. Defiantly coming back. Can't imagine not getting tacos from Sarai. Chelsea took care of us in more ways than one! Check this place out!
