Tacos El Patrón Review - Mission - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"This airy Mission spot has a great menu of taqueria classics like tacos with homemade tortillas, vampiros, and rich choriqueso. The shining stars on the menu, however, are the quesabirria tacos. Each crispy tortilla envelope is stuffed to the brim with juicy beef that blends perfectly with the melted cheese. We recommend getting at least three—two for now, and one for 15 minutes later. Other reasons Tacos El Patrón is the lunch and dinner MVP: free chips and salsa is still an art form, the portion sizes are huge, and you’ll always find a seat, even when this place is packed—and it usually is, since its greatness is no secret.  " - Lani Conway

Best Restaurants in Concord and Pleasant Hill - Eater SF

"Located next to a lingerie store and a car wash, the Pleasant Hill location is the original Tacos El Patron, followed by the more recently opened one in the Mission. The delicious birria tacos accompanied by a small tub of sip-or-dip consommé are the best. If you order two or more tacos, complimentary sides of radishes, nopales, refried beans, and onions grilled in a foil packet are available upon request. Vegetarians have choices too, including tacos filled with griddled red and green bell peppers, and onions, then topped with cheese and guacamole. Call ahead to order because there’s often a line." - Rebecca Shea

Mission Quesabirria Specialist Tacos El Patron Opens New Taqueria Starring 24 Different Stews | Eater SF

"I've watched the Mission District spot Tacos El Patrón become one of San Francisco’s most popular taquerias largely on the strength of a single taco — its quesabirria — after introducing the city to one of the first and best versions of those cheesy beef birria tacos. The Tijuana-style birria tacos now make up about 60 percent of the shop's sales, forcing owner Alberto Pineda to install an extra griddle to keep up. Despite that fame, Pineda still considers himself a “taco lover” first: his personal favorite is the namesake Taco Patrón, loaded with cheesy grilled shrimp. The business started as a taqueria in Pleasant Hill because Pineda wanted better tacos near where he lived." - Luke Tsai

Okay hear me out, this restaurant is by far the best birria spot i have gone too. I had the birria nachos with consome and I couldn't stop eating its so good. First impression the restaurant was full of customers and the staff was friendly and nice. Its definitely a vibe here during lunch hour. I enjoyed the salsa and chips that were given at the table so delicious. 😋 I will be definitely coming back with my husband on our dates here, we enjoyed it so much. Come and support this business.

Google
Super find! I had read some good reviews and this place did not disappoint! We drive through often between San Jose and Reno and we’re looking for a place to stop for breakfast. Love that they bring out four kinds of salsa with the chips right at the start. Wish we could have tried everything but there were only 5 of us. Portions of chilaquiles were generous….plenty left over for later. Tacos and breakfast burrito were also a hit. Highly recommend

Google
Hit and miss. Service was good and friendly but not exceptional. Birria Tacos were off-the-hook delicious. Pork belly taco, not so much. Pork was over cooked and very tough. Beans were amazing. Definitely go for the Birria Tacos and get the beans.

Google
Food was really good with lots of variety! Loved the guacamole - nice lime flavor. They even have 4-5 different kinds of sauce to try. I’m Staff were super friendly. The only thing I noticed was a strong cleaner smell when I first walked in. Not my favorite, but I get that it means they keep the place clean. Overall, a great spot! It was packed when we left, so I’d recommend coming a little early.

Google
This place was delicious! I ordered the carne asada burrito with everything (my default choice), and it definitely delivered. I especially loved that the burrito was grilled after being rolled — it added the perfect touch. The tacos were also tasty, though a bit pricey for their size. And the dessert? The cherry on top of an already great meal. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area!

Alex J.

Google
These are the best tacos I’ve ever had. Meats are very juicy and soft, delicious free sides (make sure to ask them!) and free tortilla chips too. Service is good. The entire space is fully renovated. They even make their own infused tequilas - I don’t drink alcohol at all but this is a really cool thing for me personally. I might end up coming here every week for a quick snack.

Update 9/13: My wife and I were invited back by the manager to come and experience this restaurant a 2nd time with better customer service for us. The manger, Alberto, did not lie. It was amazing. We were treated like customers should be treated. We both felt cared for and cared about. Hilario (waiter, bartender) overall amazing.. helped to make this experience wonderful. His conversation, jokes and just his attitude made us feel warm and welcome. Thank you Alberto and Hilario for ensuring that our 2nd visit was top notch. I 100% reccomend this restaurant. Oh btw... get the Birrias and Margaritas when you go. They are soooo freaking good!!! Update 8/19/25: I was immediately reached out to by the manager (I didn't get the chance to post this sooner). He showed a concern around the issues that I listed. I appreciate the care he displays when it comes to issues at this establishment. He wants to engage that we have a better visit in the future. However, he asked me to reach out to him and unfortunately I do not know how to. If he or anyone fun his staff reads this, can you please send me a private message so I can discuss this further, as you requested. Thank you. Visited this place with my wife because of the amount of reviews and the positive reviews or received. I'll give all the good first. Pros: We were immediately seated. The chips and salsa tasted very fresh. The chips were served hot. We both ordered Super Birria Quesadilla with a side of rice and I ordered beans (Refried). She ordered a mango margarita and I ordered strawberry margarita. Our food came out hot Food and drinks were so tasty. The restaurant is a beautiful space. Cons: We sat 5-7 mins without anyone coming over. No one brought menus, water nor greeted us. The restaurant was not packed at all. They were mopping the restaurant during service time which is unsanitary and unhealthy due to fumes. That is something that should be done before or after hours. Not while customers are eating. Also, it is unsafe for customers to walk in wet floors (They had wet floor signs, but you still had to walk on the floor to get to your table. That is how you are sued for unnecessary slip and falls). When we were finally greeted by Sebastian, our waiter, we were happy. However, about 2 mins later we were given another waiter, Ricardo. We didn't understand what happened to Sebastian. Ricardo did really well until accommodating us for a good amount of time. However, my wife asked for some items and he never brought her 2 items she requested, so she had to ask for them again. Right before we paid our bill, my wife ordered 2 strawberry lemonade. However, once we paid the bill. We sat and waited close to 10 mins for lemonade that had been sitting made over 7 mins ago. Ricardo never came back. My wife even reminded him when he picked up the card payment machine. I guess we became irrelevant after we paid our bill. That was not considerate of us as paying customers. Oh and yes.. he received a tip. Another waiter was nice enough to get it for us when my wife told him that we had been waiting. He even gave us a drink tasty because we had been waiting so long. I forgot his name, not his face. Thank you so much for caring. Hope to see you next time when we visit again. Lastly, the drink menu states that there is real fruit. However, we didn't see any fruit added nor really taste it like it had fruits. The strawberry lemonade was bland. We will return again, but Ricardo cannot be out waiter moving forward.

First time walking thru the door... friendly, professional service. While I waited...fresh, amazing salsa n chips were provided...the tequila bar is well appointed! Salsa bar too! Do not miss this taqueiera! Very nice design :)

Yelp
Very honest and hardworking management. Receptive to feedbacks and good with services. High quality food, ingredients, and high quality control on the food. Good vibe, decent music and open til late night. I dare to say it's the best taqueria restaurant in Concord/East Bay. Biria is good too

Yelp
I was internally crying the moment I opened the door. The aromas interrupted my nervous system that I knew I was supposed to be eating lunch here. So I honestly thought I knew what a birria taco was but then the moment I bit into a birria taco from Tacos El Patron, I knew it was game over. Not only was the service quick, but the staff were so patient to answering all of my incessanst questions. My cousin had mentioned they had just newly renovated and the colourful tile walls and the spicy salsa was just the perfect kick. Can't wait to come back to this magical place!

Yelp
TL: DR - love the remodel; food is amazing Located off a busy street, you could easily miss this neighborhood gem, and you would be missing out Service - outstanding. Friendly, attentive Parking. - small lot; don't be surprised if you need to park in the neighborhood Food - this place was great before the remodel, and it's even better now. Plus, they have a full bar!!! A pitcher of Margaritas is delicious All of the tacos were stellar. Btw - don't skip the churros!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon. Really loved the nachos and margaritas. Great flavor and large portions. It wasn't too busy and service was quick and our server was super kind. The restaurant itself looks upgraded and clean. We are looking forward to visiting more often!
google avatar

Yelp
We had this delivered to us. I had the Alambres. Meat, bell peppers, onion, bacon & cheese. I had the carne asada. This was well worth ordering especially if you have a good appetite. I ate it all up. Unfortunately you received six small tortillas which in my opinion is not sufficient for the amount of food you received. Easily at LEAST two or three tortillas in addition could have been included. Anyway I enjoyed it and would recommend it . If you supply at least eight tortillas I would rate this five stars. Two more tortillas isn't much to ask for. Really.

Yelp
Food was amazing and authentic! Service is excellent! The place is very clean. Super burritos are huge and delicious

Yelp
Love it! The lengua and cebollas asada grilled onions side are great. My favorite was probably the lengua street taco patron style. Service is great. Place is crowded. I sat alone at the bar. The pastor was good too. I will be back for more lengua and to try the chorizo and carne asada, and for more lengua The tacos especial were good too but honestly I prefer the street tacos

Yelp
I heard of this place a couple of times online and social media. I knew it was gonna be a treat and solid Mexican food but I didn't know it would be one of the best taco meals I've ever had in the Bay Area. Don't judge a book by its cover from the outside, el patron looks like an average mom and pop taco shop next door to a non branded hand wash. Don't be fooled because inside is a whole different story. It's so modern inside, they greet you when enter, hand you a menu and you get seated and then take your order. When done finishing they have a mobile card reader with simplicity. The food is out of this world. The birria was so good and the birria dip was the best I've ever had. The shrimp I was expecting sautéed or broiled and avg size but the shrimp were very small that's what they use here but the taste didn't disappoint shrimps were very tasty . I felt like I was on a beach resort in Mexico. All fresh and large enough , I was full after 2 tacos . I visited the salsa bar grabbed a to go container and some sauce self help containers and brown bag and I have leftovers for dinner . Full bar with a variety of Tequilas if you want to have a drink with your meal. Service is phenomenal they give you recommendations and get you all the things you request. Very kind and hard working crew here . I felt at home will be back with family 5/5 may bueno comida!

Yelp
This place got a 10/10 for me. We got the Birria buritto. Birria quesadilla and the churro dessert! All so good! I loved the guac. Would go back again. Atmosphere was fun! I enjoyed it. Waiter was super helpful with suggestions.

Yelp
As you can see from my previous reviews, I have never had a bad time at this place. So I will simply just go over the new foods that I've tried and what I've discovered. My friend got the Birria Ramen which he completely finished, almost to the last drop. It does not have much spice to it but is still delicious. I tried a Margarita for on the first time here (the mango) and it was solid! A bit strong but that's what I was hoping for. All the tacos were phenomenal. After trying many of their lemonade combinations, I have decided that I like the Hibiscus Lemonade the most! If you like tartness then I really recommend it.

Yelp
Second time here and it hits every time. My wife and I are big fans of birria and recently moved out of state. When we came back we knew Tacos El Patron was going to be on our list. It's a must try. They've completely remodeled, from a checkout counter and a few seats, to a full inside sit-down restaurant. The staff were excellent. And the food was amazing. Of course we bought way too much, but we enjoyed every bit of it. Please come if you love birria or have been wanting to try.

Yelp
First time visiting this restaurant and if you blink you will drive right by. It's on Monument in a small building with minimal parking. With that said we will definitely be back. It's a small space with about 12 or so tables and a cool bar. St the beginning the service was a bit slow but in the end the service from Jaime was spot on. They brought a basket of chips and pico de gallo with 4 other sauces in varying spice levels. I tried them all and they were all great. Had to have their house margarita and it was Devine!! Just enough tequila. I had the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and my other half had the flautas. The food came out fast and hot and OMG! The servings are huge!!! All in all a seriously delicious spot. My understanding is they are well known for their birra tacos which I will try next time.
google avatar

Naomi J.

Yelp
Good tacos, amazing birria! I thought the Al pastor (4/5 stars) was better than the shredded pork (3.5/5 stars) but my partner disagreed. We both thought the birria (5/5 stars blow your mind amazing) may be the best birria we've ever had in our lives! We can't wait to try their SF location in the Mission. FYI - at 3pm on a Sunday nearly every table was full. No wait to be seated, but it was busy!

Yelp
Tacos El Patrón is tucked conveniently close to the freeway with a shopping center nearby. Parking can be tricky since the lot is small, and the indoor seating fills up fast. Most tables seat up to four, so plan ahead if you are dining in. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was impressively quick. We started with the cucumber lime agua fresca, which was bright, refreshing, and absolutely delicious. For food, the fish taco stole the show. It was crispy, perfectly seasoned, and elevated by the chipotle salsa, cabbage, and tomatoes. Truly an A++ bite. The carne asada street taco had great flavor but seemed like it was not served immediately, arriving a bit cold. The same went for the birria taco and mulita carne asada. Both had bold, finger-licking flavor, but the cheese was barely melted and missed that hot, gooey pull you really crave. Overall, it was a good experience with some hits and a few misses. I would absolutely come back for the fish tacos and agua fresca, and I am hopeful the carne asada items come out hotter and fresher next time. -Atmosphere/Location: convenient but small, crowded seating. That's around a 3/5. -Service: fast and friendly. Strong 5/5. -Drinks: that agua fresca sounds like a 5/5. -Food: the fish taco was a knockout (5/5), but carne asada items being cold and cheese not melted drags it down to around a 3/5 overall for the food.

Yelp
Update to a previous review. A friend and I visited Tacos El Patron again after have not gone back in awhile. The last time we were there they have an outdoor tent with seating. This trip they had expanded new indoor seating and an enhanced menu. I tried a Chili Verde Tostada and a Carnitas Taco. I loved the tostada, the chili verde was tender and flavorful. Sadly the carnitas taco wasn't as flavorful, the meat seems to be boiled so it doesn't have the nice marinated flavor or crispness when the pork is fried. With the onions, cilantro and cilantro it tastes okay. Way back when I first visited the carnitas were crisped up on the griddle. My friend had a carnitas taco, lengua taco and a Chorteada with pork belly as the meat. He absolutely loved the Chorreada and said the pork belly was tasty. He said the lengua was good but that he wouldn't order the carnitas again. The restaurant remodel is nice, tables turn over quickly, staff is attentive and quick, everything we have tried so far except for the carnitas is good. We plan to come back and try one of the many dishes they have. Chips and salsa are very good and is complimentary. For some very good Mexican food, service and pricing, try Tacos El Patron, one of the better restaurants in the Pleasant Hill/Concord area.
google avatar

Mariela V.

Yelp
So far the only thing I've tried that is truly good is their Quesabirria tacos. Their street tacos are ok, they're small and nothing special about them just cilantro and onion. I've had better from taco trucks. Their Tinga tostada was the most disappointing thing. The chicken wasn't shredded, it was thick chunks of chicken which is not typical, and the most disappointing thing was the taste, it just tasted like tomato sauce, no hint of chipotle or anything else. It was a 0/10 which is disappointing for a Mexican place.
google avatar

Cynthia S.

Yelp
They have quite the menu even though. Parking is tiny so come outside of busy times. Inside isn't too big either. They were quite busy when we were there on Sunday late afternoon. Food came out quickly. But took a little time to get their attention to order. I had the super burrito, which was pretty decent size. Table came with chips and salsa and 4 types of sauces. One of them has a pretty good kick. My super burrito was good but a little dry. For some reason it didn't come with sour cream. Not sure if that's standard or I'm supposed to ask for it. I just added a whole lotta sauce and it was very good. Price wise it is not cheap. But we enjoyed our meal.
google avatar

James R.

Yelp
Came here randomly today after some shopping. My girlfriend's brother recommended it so we dropped by. Friendly staff, not a very big spot, but in a Sunday at 11AM no issue parking and getting a seat. I got the birria tacos and they were tasty!! I absolutely enjoyed it and will definitely be back to try more things off the menu!
google avatar

Sarretta M.

Yelp
Friendly staff and good food in this cozy inviting establishment! The remodel has made this a true sit-down restaurant which retains its "family-run" feel. On our latest visit, my son and I walked (2 miles!) here from his apartment - I was sooo glad for the large iced tea then had a marg to reward myself! The food here is always tasty and fresh. The drinks are also very tasty.
google avatar

Eric C.

Yelp
So I came here a few times before and the food is always on point and very consistent. I came here the other day specifically for the Birria Ramen and it was super good! My usual place I get Birria ramen at was closed but I found a new favorite place! The restaurant is small but very good vibes! The service was great as well, shoutout Elias for the good service! Will be back soon 10/10
google avatar

Yelp
We came to visit here and we loved it. The flavor was goods I recommend getting the hot sauce. It's spicy and tasty

Yelp
I can't believe I was passing by Tacos El Patron daily without trying it until now! The tacos are incredible here, and I am dreaming about my next bite! First, the proportions are huge- and two tacos easily filled me up, although I decided to stuff myself silly and eat three. I tried the birreria taco, tacos patron (shrimp) and pescado taco. All three were absolutely fantastic, but my favorite was the pescado with its perfectly cooked and freshly fried white fish and flavorful toppings. FYI ordering 2 or more specialty tacos includes extra sides for free- radish, cactus or grilled onions. Even the complimentary tortilla chips were SO good- fresh, thin, crisp and warm- which perfectly implemented the salsa. Now tacos would not be complete with a drink pairing and I would highly suggest getting an agua Fresca! The portion is enormous, and the watermelon flavor was absolutely perfect. I would also like to add that the service was excellent- and our server was friendly and kind. The food came out very quickly- maybe no more than 10 minutes after ordering. I can't wait to come back and eat more tacos, and try the hibiscus agua Fresca next time!

Yelp
I stopped here before heading back to Oakland . I ordered birria meat enchiladas with salsa verde and they were on point . The chorizo beans were very delicious and flavorful . My fiancé ordered the wet burrito with mole sauce and lengua/cabeza. The flavors were also great . We shared a large horchata and I was happy that it was not powder and tasted authentic , creamy and yummy. The plates are generous size , I was only to finish one enchilada and the beans . We did wait about 20 minutes to get sat but definitely worth the wait . The service was fast and friendly . The ambiance was chill not to loud nothing fancy just like a small mom and pop shop . You can def see all the cooks popping off orders and making sure to fulfill all the tickets coming in DoorDash and in-house . I did order a flan to go so I will update how the flavors were when i eat that :) .

Yelp
Tasty dishes, good service, cozy. Parking is tricky it's easy to miss this small family run restaurant. We had to pull a few U-turns to get there.

Yelp
Monday night date to tacos EL Patrón! beautiful place with a cute / cozy inside including booths or be wild and sit at the bar, wherever you like! service is warm and authentic here..especially when they kick it off with fresh chips and 4 mini bottles of hot sauce, house made from mild to hot!! (We fell in love with orange one, moi Rico!) Food: We got the street tacos (2 veggie, 2 chicken) these are $4.50/ea and come with a house made corn tortilla which melts In your mouth and you get 1 free side per taco. (We chose nopales and fresh radish!) The tacos were Presented beautifully, authentic, hot, and made to order. The flavors were really good and unique for both the chicken and the veggie. Poppin in yumminess and hittin all the taste buds! House made horchata: cool down from the hot sauce with this timeless classic, yummy and creamy and Tacos Patrón does it just right. Lastly, we were too full from our tacos and chips but the dessert menu looked dank.. you can get fresh made mini churros with vanilla ice cream and coffee or a coffee flan! Who else has that?! No one. Muchos gracias - we're coming back!

Yelp
Tried this spot the other day and really enjoyed it. The tacos were excellent--plenty of meat and full of flavor. I also tried a tequila Old Fashioned for the first time, and it was surprisingly good with a nice smoky mezcal note. Bathrooms were clean and decent, and there was plenty of parking which made things easy. I'll definitely be back for more of those little street tacos.
google avatar

Ranjan S.

Yelp
Came in for the first time since the remodel. The place looks super nice and has a bar in the corner, so it's now a better place for dinner and some drinks! We ordered the queso fundido and one taco each. The queso was alright. It's mostly just mozzarella cheese, so it largely tasted like a melted cheese stick. I thought it was pretty underwhelming for the price. I got one pastor taco. The meat was a bit tough and super oily, but had little flavor outside of that. They offer 4 salsas. The mild tomatillo is the best--very flavorful and goes well with their chicken!

Alex O.

Yelp
Great birria tacos! The ambiance was great too. I really appreciate how quickly we got our food!

Yelp
I always order their tacos or flautas. I LOVE their aguas frescas. Their churros are super delish. I come here often.

Super fast service, excellent food! Seating is limited but it's a must visit if you are in concord

Yelp
I went this spot for a work lunch as we were told this is one of the best Mexican spots. And indeed it was! Don't like the outside fool you, these were some of the best tacos I've had. These were about $6 each and super loaded. The taco patron had these delicious shrimp and layer of cheese. The Vampiro was loaded with meat and guac. The chips and salsa also came with these 4 sauces of varying levels of spicy. We came a bit after 1pm and they were a full house. We waited about 10 mins for a table. I would definitely come back. Staff were super friendly and there is a handful of parking spots outside.
google avatar

Selena S.

Yelp
this place is actually so good! best tacos i've had in the east bay. this is a sit down restaurant, not a taqueria & they charge 2.2% for all credit card transactions. I ordered chicken tacos and they were great! they have 4 different sauces on the table. The orange is the spiciest and you seriously can't be doing more than a few drops of it (which i love lol). i also ordered churros that comes with a chocolate & caramel dipping sauces & a side of vanilla bean ice cream. i'd definitely come back!!
google avatar

Jasper P.

Yelp
I've been trying to eat clean for about a year now so when I eat out I try to minimize the damage. A regular chicken burrito with no cheese is a high protein go to for me. This place had chicken tinga which was awesome because it's a lot more flavorful than standard chicken without more fat. I really liked the very friendly bartender and overall solid neighborhood vibe. It was busy on a Sunday night but not obnoxious. Well run place. Great hot sauces. The guy next to me who I chatted with was having the quesabirria tacos and they looked epic. Almost had to cave into a full cheat meal.
google avatar

Phil N.

Yelp
I love this place. They have done a nice job expanding it from a small stand to a sit down restaurant with a full bar. This place is about the tacos, get them. Service is fine but it's not a white table cloth joint. Homespun feel Great value

Yelp
My go to Birria tacos spot and best birria tacos around the area hands down. Haven't tried anything else besides the Birria tacos.

Yelp
If you're looking for an unforgettable Mexican dining experience, this newly renovated gem is a must-visit! The minute you walk in you se the restaurant is full! They have a great bar area with a FULL bar! Specializing in all sorts of food we always come here for the Birria, they serve it in nearly every form imaginable!!! From the classic tacos to indulgent tortas and even birria ramen. The flavors are rich, with that perfect slow-cooked savoriness that birria lovers crave. The tacos are crispy, generously stuffed, and served with a side of consommé that's just bursting with flavor. The renovations added a sleek full bar that brings the vibe up a notch. The bartenders are skilled, offering a solid lineup of cocktails that pair perfectly with the bold flavors of birria. Whether you want a margarita with a twist or a classic Mexican cocktail, the bar has you covered. We ordered the prickly pear margarita and the Paloma and both were delicious and strong! The atmosphere is new, cool and lively, with a modern touch post-renovation that makes it feel fresh and like a sit down restaurant. After the renovation they got rid of their outside seating which was kind of nice! The service is friendly and knowledgeable, with servers who know the menu inside and out and can guide you through the options if you're new to birria or want to try something new. If you're in the mood for comfort food with bold flavors and a fun, casual setting, this spot has it all. Man all the sauces they have are so good, there are four different kind all ranging in heat intensity!

Yelp
It has been a while since we have been back to Tacos El Patron, but things are still fantastic. I definitely wanted a birria taco with cheese, but I saw a sign for birria tamales and had to have one of those as well. Oh boy, that is the right connection - birria meat in a tamale and consomme for dipping. I may never look at tamales the same again! We also had the shrimp quesadilla - loaded with shrimp, although more like bay shrimp based on their size. Service here is still a high point - efficient and friendly. I still cannot believe how useful it is to get their four sauces in small squeeze bottles. No wasted sauce and easy to distribute the sauce on each chip or other bite of food. I now have to look at getting some of those small bottles for use at home.

Yelp
Tacos El Patron has always been great but recently did a remodel and now has a bar with delicious infused tequila margaritas and one of my favs - birria ramen! So great especially on a cold day

Yelp
All gas no brakes, this place hits the spot! Nachos were more like carnival type nachos but the Carne Asada on it tastes like family backyard party. Chicken super burrito was my main sheeesh flavor soooo good. For the Horchata I need a cooler full!

Yelp
Asked a co-worker where the best burritos are in the area and he looked at me with a laugh - Tacos El Patron, he said. He was incredulous I didn't know this. Later that night I made the order. Super chicken, super carne asada, and a nachos to go for me and the wife. I drove up and parked next door in front of the lingerie shop, which was also open. Tacos El Patron itself was fresh and well lit. I was in and out quickly with my online order already prepaid and waiting by the front door. Thought about buying some leather chaps from next door for the missus but decided against it. Felt like a new father driving his newborn burrito home for the first time. I was so excited. Everything smacked. Delicious! Perfect grilled/toasted tortilla. Can't believe how hard it was to find a taqueria that does that. Meat was amazing. Loved the presentation on the nachos. Served on a light bed of chips with additional chips provided on the side. Filled to the brim with toppings. I've had a lot of burritos in my life and this just might be the best. I'll never come back - JUST KIDDING!

Yelp
Came in today for lunch. We ordered nachos, margaritas, and topped it off with lava cake for dessert. Our server was Paulette, and her service was outstanding. She ensured we had everything we needed from beginning til end. Not one time did we have to look for her when we needed something or had a question as she was that attentive. Best customer service at a restaurant that I've had in a while. Thank you! 11/10. Side note -- their chips are amazing! They taste like they're freshly made. The sauces are amazing as well. There's a good amount of choices, whether you're into super spicy, or prefer something more subtle.

Yelp
The tacos are the thing to come here for! We ordered two pollo birria tacos and it was chefs kisses. The consume came out piping hot and the tacos were flavorful. When you order two tacos you also get free sides so we got beans and grilled onions. We also ordered the chili verde plate. Unfortunately, the food came out lukewarm, including the beans and the rice. We asked for it to be reheated and they did so. The owner was super nice about it. I love how you can see the food being made. They have a full bar inside too! I have to try it the next time I visit, but this was a quick dry stop and we needed to get home. Patrons were constantly filling up the bar seating and I could see the bartenders pushing drinks fast. Overall, I highly recommend this place. The owner takes pride in his work and establishment. It was clean, the food was amazing, and when something isn't up to standard, they make sure it comes back to your liking. AND THEIR SALSA BAR WAS GOOD!!!! They had a variety of different salsas and toppings you could go up and pick. Recommend this to anyone who wants good tacos! Rest assured if it's not up to par, they will fix it for you. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
This place has the BEST birria tacos!! They also have a taco called the El Patron which is shrimp, melted cheese, pico & guac.....get it, You won't be sorry! Also tried the carnitas flautas which are covered in an amazing salsa verde, shredded lettuce & cotija cheese. I promise the pics don't do them justice, I'm sure they are plated nicely but the place was PACKED (as it should be) so I took it all to go. Love this place & SO happy there's indoor seating now.

Yelp
SUNDAY LUNCH: MEAT NOT SKIMPY Around early October on a Sunday I picked up my sister along with her daughters from SFO as they came back from Northeast for vacation. She took me out to lunch where we ended up eating at Tacos El Patron. This taco joint is very small located in a tight parking spot. She said this place is popular with the locals. I looked at the Taco Especiales section of the menu. The two tacos that stood out were the patron and birria. On the Street Tacos section I ordered the cabeza. I came thinking the tacos served at Tacos El Patron will be the usual small tacos at other places that are not only skimpy with the meat portions. but also with the flavors. I couldn't be farther from the truth with the tacos served here. Even though the tacos were small in size the meat portion was not. The prime example is the patron as there was a lot of shrimp packed into the small tortilla. Yet shrimp can taste too watery, but not the shrimp I ate at Tacos El Patron. Most the quesabirria tacos I've eaten there is more cheese than meat. At Tacos El Patron the birria emphasized more meat than cheese. The birria taco at Tacos El Patron still had that crunchy tortilla similar to a quesabirria. My favorite taco of the three I ordered was the cabeza. There was a big portion of the fatty head yet the richness of the cabeza was balanced with the raw onions and cilantro. If I had just ordered three cabeza tacos from Taco El Patron I would have been more than satisfied. My first visit to Tacos El Patron I was impressed. Now I see why locals love this place. Because of the portion of the meat you can get a filling meal with these small tacos at Tacos El Patron. Yet you won't feel queasy after eaten them. I can see myself coming back to Tacos El Patron. If I do come back I will still order the cabeza, but I will try other tacos such as the pork belly, lengua, and tripa.

Yelp
Went here for dinner after a workout and loved the options available on the menu. There's a good number of indoor dining tables to accommodate patrons though the parking spaces are limited. We tried a few of the special tacos and street tacos. They are flavorful and the meats are cooked well. Also took home an horchata and it's pretty sweet but hit the spot

Yelp
We were hungry and looking for breakfast! Came across this place in Concord, and boy I'm glad we stumbled upon this cute little restaurant. They have amazing breakfast burritos and tacos with cute little salsas! They serve unlimited chips and salsa. The staff are super friendly and food came out fast! Probably our go to breakfast burritos spot!
