Tacos El Patrón Review - Mission - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"This airy Mission spot has a great menu of taqueria classics like tacos with homemade tortillas, vampiros, and rich choriqueso. The shining stars on the menu, however, are the quesabirria tacos. Each crispy tortilla envelope is stuffed to the brim with juicy beef that blends perfectly with the melted cheese. We recommend getting at least three—two for now, and one for 15 minutes later. Other reasons Tacos El Patrón is the lunch and dinner MVP: free chips and salsa is still an art form, the portion sizes are huge, and you’ll always find a seat, even when this place is packed—and it usually is, since its greatness is no secret.  " - Lani Conway

Best Restaurants in Concord and Pleasant Hill - Eater SF

"Located next to a lingerie store and a car wash, the Pleasant Hill location is the original Tacos El Patron, followed by the more recently opened one in the Mission. The delicious birria tacos accompanied by a small tub of sip-or-dip consommé are the best. If you order two or more tacos, complimentary sides of radishes, nopales, refried beans, and onions grilled in a foil packet are available upon request. Vegetarians have choices too, including tacos filled with griddled red and green bell peppers, and onions, then topped with cheese and guacamole. Call ahead to order because there’s often a line." - Rebecca Shea

This place was delicious! I ordered the carne asada burrito with everything (my default choice), and it definitely delivered. I especially loved that the burrito was grilled after being rolled — it added the perfect touch. The tacos were also tasty, though a bit pricey for their size. And the dessert? The cherry on top of an already great meal. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area!

I came here for the first time recently and I got the patrón taco, the vampiro taco and two lengua tacos. I liked all the tacos but the patrón and the vampiro was my favorite. On a whim I also got the churros which were also pretty good (should be shared though its too much for one person). My experience was good and I may return to try ther birria offerings since they are known for that.

Absolutely awesome tacos. They have amazing sauces as well. My new favorite Mexican place in the bay area. The Birria was top notch and not to be missed. Don't hesitate to give this place a rrey!!!

It's one of the best Birria Taco I've had in the Bay Area. The best part about it is the Consomé come with your Birria Taco, unlike most places you have to order the Consomé on the side which cost extra. I also enjoy their Pork Belly, Grilled Shrimp and Fish tacos. Make sure to ask for free sides: grilled onions, grilled cactus, radish, and beans. They also offer a free salsa bar. Friendly staff and service are quick.

A delicious and filling dinner experience. We drove from Sunnyvale on the basis of recommendations and the rumor mill. Definitely worth the drive. Not fancy, but really good. Great guacamole and queso with beef. The queso was a fajita skillet with melted cheese covered in beef. Delicious! The classic selection is the taco barrita...and add queso. It comes in " marinated" hard taco shells. Stuffed with savory stew meat. And you have to dip each bite into the provided dipping sauce. Our group tried a variety of options. The classic barrita and pork belly were favorite s You really can't go wrong. Service was also excellent as well. Friendly and helpful. No outside dining, but adequate parking. Ck this place out!

Started with the guacamole because, let’s be honest, it’s the law. Creamy, zesty, and so good it nearly made me cancel the rest of my order just to double down. Thankfully, I didn’t—because what came next was pure taco glory. The street tacos? Absolute fire. And the birria? Stop the presses. Best I’ve ever had. I’m talking “consider-naming-my-next-child-Birria” levels of good. The new addition to the restaurant is awesome—more room to stretch out and properly worship these tacos. The ceviche came in cool and confident, full of flavor and a perfect refresher before the next taco assault. Even the kid’s burrito was a hit—just the right size for my 5-year-old, who gave it two tiny thumbs up before disappearing into a burrito-fueled food coma. Tacos El Patrón & Bar is the real deal. If tacos were a religion, this place would be my church. Five stars and then some.

Looking from the outside in, you’re like yikes! When you walk in you’re like okay! I’m here to eat! Absolutely amazing!! Fast and friendly service, a variety of sauces awaits your table. The chips and dip are fabulous, the tacos are to die for and the birria melts in your mouth. Definitely a new fave local spot.

Awesome service! They gave us some complementary chips and put the sauce bottles on our table. For the food itself, birria, chicken, and asada tacos, gotta love it!!! Absolutely going back, I don’t need another taco joint!
