We have been living in Playa Vista for over a decade and this was the first time we came here. I wish I could come much earlier and this is a legit place with delicious Indian cuisine with excellent service! We came around 5:30p on a Saturday so the restaurant was entirely empty (when we left at 6:45 it was packed). We were greeted by friendly staff who made some good recommendations on the appetizers and the combo dishes. We decided to go with the appetizer assortment that came with different samosas (one with veggie one with lamb), chicken and some other fried veggie. Thru are all delicious and opened up our appetite for the entree. We ordered three different combos (one chef special with tandoori chicken and curry lamb, one with chicken Korma, and chicken curry. Honestly I love them all but the chicken Korma definitely stands out given its rich and creamy texture! The sides that come with combo are also flavorful: A side of salad, veggie stew, and bean curry. We also ordered a separate side of naans and I highly recommend giving it a try! So fluffy, with a bit charcoal burn at the bottom and perfect for scooping the curry! We decided to pass the dessert in the end. To our surprise the staff brought rice pudding to us for FREE! Such a nice touch. We will defiantly come back again!

Had lunch (twice) at this remarkable place, the owner Ravi is a gem of a person and management, who is running this place for more than 20++ years. The indian food taste is one of the best i had in LA and in comparison to what we had in NYC. The restaurant is not in the main area but near to Venice Canal and is clean. We tried Samosa, Aloo ka paratha. Veggie daal and Chicken tikka - all items were lip smacking good - would i recommend and visit again - for sure

We ordered food out several times form this place and what I really like about it them is that the food arrives packaged in aluminum containers with paper and a thin plastic lid. I hate the amount of plastic we, as a nation, make use of and dispose of. It’s insane how much of it doesn’t get recycled and ends up in landfills so the fact that some restaurants consider that and chose a sustainable alternative instead is a big bonus point for me. The rice is always beautifully fluffy and aromatic. The meat dishes are good and flavorful. The garlic naan is always fresh. But the okra dish I had tonight was insulting. The okra was so old, it felt like I was chewing straw. It was inedible. Instead of using young fresh okra they used the stuff other restaurants probably throw in the bin - there’s no other way for me to explain how that vegetable was so hard to chew and just splintered in my mouth like dry straw. Who decided to cook that and serve it to customers? Lastly, they don’t give you a choice for how spicy to cook the food so you get what you get.

Amazing place. I ve been wanted to come forever! Finally did it and it was… amazing. The ambiance is great, the food is amazing quality and tasty, the service is perfect and they are so nice. I will def come back. (I ate the veggie and chicken combo)

The best Indian Food we have had on the Westside. We have dinner at several locations spanning Culver City, Westwood, Marina del Rey, and Westchester - and Taj Indian has the best food. No matter what we get, the food is excellent. Add to that the excellent service and friendly staff, and this is our go-to for Indian cuisine.

I am disappointed after having food here which was not at all good. We ordered dal, pea palaw, matar paneer and butter chicken. Dal and pea palaw was full of turmeric. How some one can cook like this. Butter chicken had not good chicken. Better try to other place. Even prices are on higher side. Don’t go to this place. All waiter will talk so sweet that you will fall in there pray.

Phenomenal food and service. We love the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, vegetable samosa, and tandoori chicken and we’re here almost every week! Our waiter Gill is the best!

Food - really great food. The tandoori and tikka masala were very flavorful and portions were great! Garlic naan was just ok but that's alright. For the price and the portions and the quality of the main dishes it was still very very good. Service - very friendly staff, loved our brief interaction :) Ambiance - such a cute, clean, and decorative setting!

I ordered the shrimp masala and it was disgusting! The shrimp was too hard, no flavor and small shrimp not Prawns like they claimed the curry sauce was bland with no flavor. Rubbery shrimp I am upset. They only gave me 8 small shrimp with a whole lot of sauce for $18? I wish I could drive the 20minutes to go return this meal The rice was hard, the only thing I would recommend is the garlic naan and mango lassi if you do decide to come here. Too expensive for nasty food, chipotle has better flavor than this! I will send a photo of my receipt and meal so you can see this is a NO! I left a generous tip as this was a takeout order I placed in person! Never again

I enjoyed the naan it was nice. I wanted to enjoy the korma but was unable to. Maybe because I'm accustomed to Pakistani style korma from Nooranis. But the chicken korma was thick texture like yogurt the flavor was just okay. Nice establishment and employees with kind service. Was just trying something new since Nooranis is far away.

Weeeeeeeeee! I loved my dining experience here. I had only had their takeaway, as I live a couple blocks away, but they provide a pappadoooope experience! Flavor for the ages regarding the sauce provided. I recommend their lamb samosas and any vindaloo that sets your heart free! Gorgeously delicious lentils and rice so fluffy that you'd imagine you're atop a cloud. Kind and attentive staff and just an overall cherished experience. Lunch specials babayyyy!

Place is gas. Great prices, large portions, combo plates are the perfect amount of food. I'll be back

The service was prompt and the food was delicious! I enjoyed the variety of the lunch combo meal. The atmosphere was calm and not too loud so you could enjoy your meal partner.

Nice selection of dishes: appetizers, curries, biryani, tondoori, etc. I tried the Vegetable Samosas to start and loved how crispy and flavorful it was. It came with two sauces. For the main course, I did the Chicken Biryani and Tikka Masala. Both flavorful and fragrant. The biryani was a tad small in terms of portion size. Service was quite lacking as the server rarely stopped at our table and didn't get us water. Definitely more of a take out spot.

I highly recommend giving this place a try. The service is great server is always attentive and friendly. The food is amazing, I recommend the garlic naan and chicken tikka masala. This is our go to place for Indian Cuisine.

Very nice waiter and very good food! Get the coconut tofu korma I think it was called. If you like coconut flavor dishes this one is for you! Love the rest of the food too

Great experiences for takeout. This is our go to place for Indian food when looking to takeout. I have not experienced the ambience at the sitdown restaurant, but for delivery, we have never been disappointed. Whether you're trying one of the curries, or the buttered chicken, the quality of the food has always been reliable and very tasty. We also enjoyed some of their samosas. we realize that the vegetable has a slightly flaky crust which is more enjoyable for us. When you are trying one of the versions that has meat inside, the outer coating gets a little bit crunchier than we like for our pallet. I would definitely recommend if you are craving Indian cuisine!

You can't go wrong with Taj. The flavors might not blow you away with originality but everything tastes just right and is expertly prepared and presented. Service is relatively fast and super friendly. It's just always good classic Indian food. Have been many times and will definitely go back!

Taj India Palace is my go-to for Indian food. It's walkable for me, which is nice. They are located in a tiny shopping center in Westchester. There's a lot of room for dine-in and looks like they did some upgrades and updates to their interior. The service is always super friendly. You now have to pay for the Papadom, which used to come with your meal but I really like it so I always get it. I always order Paneer Tiki Masala which is not on the menu, but they will happily serve it for you. My husband always gets the Chicken Tikka and it's always delicious.

This is not Indian food. Not even close. I love Indian food, I've been to India, my friends that I ordered for are Indian, and this was borderline Italian with a mild hint of spice. I ordered chicken tikka masala and received a chicken a la vodka sauce. Completely tasted of tomato paste and heavy cream. I also ordered a vegetable korma that was yellow and again had the consistency of a thick sauce made of heavy cream that had no other flavor but cream. Left me disappointed and feeling ill. This place is either an Indian knockoff not being a good knockoff or management just doesn't care about the customers or the restaurant. If you're looking for authentic Indian food, this is not it. Not even close.

Consistently great food and phenomenal customer service. We mainly order pick up but dined in for lunch the other day and hope that it can become a weekly routine! Order "Indian spicy" if you want to bring the heat, it's delicious!

This place is my go to for delicious, garlicky, spicy, comforting goodness!! I know it's basic but I LOVE the chicken tikka masala! The veggie samosas are crispy and perfect! I always get 2 orders of the garlic naan so that I can soak up all the yummy sauce with it. The service is fantastic, always friendly. I love this place!

I loved this place! The food is too die for. I ordered an array of items from the menu and couldn't stop eating. I can't even name everything because my friend and I split like 6 or 7 dishes, and got some garlic Naan to eat up all the sauce at the end. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with whatever you order. It's been a few days since I was there and I'm still thinking about my meal. They have an Indian tea that is out of this world. Now mind you, I'm not a tea drinker except when I'm sick. But, for the first time in my life, I not only asked for repeated refills, but I asked the manager about how to buy it for home. Unfortunately, they start with a standard tea and add their own spices, so you can't just go buy it at a store. I loved it so much, they offered me a cup to go which I gladly accepted. The service was top notch, too! This is a definite must-dine-at! Give it a go. You will not be disappointed.

The only negative thing to say about this place is: The Parking sucks! There is only a teeny tiny parking lot for the several businesses squished into a teeny tiny mall-like space. And it's easy to miss, you drive right by it, have to look for the address to find it. On Lincoln, just north of Manchester, near LAX. But once you're done muttering over the parking dilemma, the place is adorable. Small and nicely decorated, very Indian. And the food is really good. My test of an Indian restaurant is always the Sag Paneer (creamed spinach with sauteed ricotta squares). It was delicious here. Not overcooked, and with nice spices. Then we had the Vegetable Korma, Samosas, and garlic naan. Everything was good. In some Indian restaurants, all the spices taste the same for each dish. In this place, the spices were unique to each dish, and mild, as we requested. It's in my hood and I'll be back. Good for takeout too, if you can park.

I started going to Taj when I was in college and after the first time, I knew I was hooked! I graduated 12 years ago and moved out of LA 9 years ago. However, every few years when I make my way back to LA, this place is at the top of my list. Every time I go in, I'm greeted as an old friend coming home, including today for lunch. The food is incredible! Generous and delicious portions. I've worked my way around the menu but chicken curry and lamb tikka marsla are absolute MUSTS. I will be back every time I'm in LA for as long as the doors stay open

Gotta say I was really excited to try this place and had drive past it often...But the chicken curry was basically just Indian Tomato sauce with chicken which I was really disappointed about. The flavor is okay but just wasn't expecting when I got :(

The best Indian food that I have found on the westside. I strongly recommend the lamb samosas as a starter. The service was excellent, and although it doesn't look like much on the outside. The inside is decorated beautifully. Also is quite affordable!

Ordered take out. Chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi, peshwari naan, plain naan & a full order of rice. The chicken tikka masala was good. Had good taste and lots of chicken and I liked the thick sauce. 7/10 The aloo gobi tastes fine but there was only one single potato in the whole dish. 6/10 My favorite part of an Indian is the naan breads. I did not receive the plain naan but instead a garlic naan. Both naans were really really dry. The peshwari naan feels stale and crumbly. The garlic naan was slightly better but would not recommend either. 1/10 Disappointed as the taste of the mains were good but had too many issues to try it again.

Absolutely loved our experience here! We were craving Indian food and I had heard amazing things about this spot. The service here was fantastic and the owners were super nice! The garlic naan was amazing, I could have eaten 3 servings. Samosas here were also fantastic! Definitely give Taj India Palace a try next time you are in the area.

Really enjoyed our meal here. Family owned restaurant, been here for 20 years. Always good. Staff is friendly, service is efficient. Had to catch a plane & needed to be at the airport in about 90 minutes. I was concerned we would be cutting it close. BUT - had a full meal served in such a timely way we enjoyed at an unhurried pace before heading to LAX with plenty of time to spare. Started with papadum - such a tasty treat! Entree was saag paneer and chicken with vegetables in a well seasoned sauce. Had some left over for my host to enjoy tomorrow! There is lovely art in the walls, and the room has plenty of tables arranged with comfortable space between tables. Would recommend.

Very very good Indian food! We usually get the Chicken Tikka masala, veggie coconut Korma, rice and garlic naan. Really great taste, sometimes the Tikka is a little more tomato-y than spicy/creamy - if it was more consistent then I would give a 5/5.

We've been ordering delivery service from Taj Indian Palace for 25 years. They are a local Westchester mom and pop Indian restaurant. They do not charge a delivery fee. Their food is very good. They have many vegetarian/vegan selections. I usually order either their vegetarian or vegan thali combo dinner. We've also ordered the vegetable samosa appetizer, the tandoori chicken, aloo gobi, pea pilaf and aloo paratha tandoori breads. The lamb dishes have been inconsistent. At times the meat has been tough. Too bad I love lamb but we no longer order any lamb dishes. I highly recommend you try this restaurant.

I ordered a whole bunch of plates when I visited, and everything, EVERYTHING was good! Service was great. Mango lassis were super flavorful, we ended up ordering 2 to-go. definitely will be back here. Prices are super reasonable, food is fresh and quality.

Just recently had a dinner at this place. This is one of the best Indian food in Marina!!!!! Their Beef Biriyani is a present from sky! And their service also was great! Highly recommend!

I ordered the chicken tikka masala and paneer naan through the website for pickup, and they didn't disappoint! The tikka masala is a bit salty for my taste, but is less so when dipped with the naan. The naan was both chewy and crispy and reheats well. It is hard to park in the lot as it's very tight and usually busy. The employees were friendly and my food was ready for pickup right on time. Great for a late night craving!

Just ordered on Uber Eats last night from this place- it was AWFUL. The chicken tiki masala had zero flavor, we requested it spicy and it tasted like milk. The chicken was a very strange texture and guey. The garlic Nan was flat and lacked any flavor. Probably one of the worst Indian spots I've ever ordered from. Should have ordered Akbar in Venice and just waited the forty minutes. Waste of $40. Passsssssssssssss trust me. Went to bed hungry.

I've been going to Tai India Palace restaurant for over 10 years. Their food is outstanding. My favorite dishes are the lamb Vindaloo and the butter chicken. Everything here is simply amazing. They used to have a fantastic buffet but COVID prevents this (for now). Still the food is amazing. The owner is super generous and welcoming. Support small businesses!

I came for dinner here the other night at around 6pm. It was completely empty the whole time we were there, so that made for a peaceful dining experience. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Roti and Garlic Naan. Everything was delicious. The chicken tikka masala was so flavorful, I was content with eating just the curry sauce with naan. The service was great. The woman who took our order was very friendly and checked on us often. When we left we forgot our to go containers and she followed us out to bring it to us. I really enjoyed my food. Next time I will definitely order the combo instead of just the entree.

They have good Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Tikka Masala, they are very tasty and have good flavor. We also tried the Chicken Curry, it was ok. The staff is friendly and polite. The restaurant has a nice Indian theme and it has a small parking lot. It is definitely a good place to try.

Love Taj! For my Indian food fix its the only spot I can think of! And because we live so close to this spot, its perfect for a pick up meal. I like to keep it simple and familiar. Im always down to get the following: Tandori Chicken Chicken Tikka Masala Chicken Jalfrezi Aloo Gobi (sometimes...when I want to pretend to be a vegetarian) Naan and Rice (and plenty of it!) I find the food to always be flavorful, hot and extremely satisfying! I got no complaints. Overall: come on in and give Taj India Palace a try! Or even better, place your order via Yelp. It's all set up. You may become a regular? Cheers.
