"Blue stucco walls, mosaic lanterns, and geometric dinnerware provide plenty of visual allure at this East Orlando Moroccan restaurant, but it’s the culinary aesthetics that have earned it a loyal patronage, be it smoky and garlicky zaalouk (cooked eggplant and tomato salad) to melt-in-your-mouth curry goat tajine. Bastilla, a sweet and savory phyllo dough pastry stuffed with seasoned chicken, dusted with powdered sugar, and served with honey, is worth the visit alone." - Faiyaz Kara

Enjoyed our dinner here. The lemon chicken tajine was great. It was flavorful and the lemon melded perfectly with the flavors. I thought the fries with a tajine sounded odd, but they were extra crispy and added an accompanying texture that I enjoyed. The lamb couscous was good, it had all the spices, but they were muted and overall it was mildly bland. The lamb and vegetables were cooked perfectly. We would come back and try some more dishes.

Delicious Moroccan food that’s fresh and flavorful. There are several vegan options. They have weekend specials, the price is reasonable cost. Staff is very friendly, the restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated. I highly recommend the mint tea after your meal.

TajineXpress is by far my favorite cuisine restaurant! The rice with chicken was absolutely killer—I highly recommend trying it. The flavors were rich, the portions were generous, and every bite was delicious. Beyond the amazing food, the service was excellent. I even had the pleasure of meeting the store owners, and they were incredibly kind and welcoming. Their hospitality truly enhanced the dining experience. If you're looking for a place with great food, friendly service, and a warm atmosphere, TajineXpress is a must-visit! Would I recommend it? Absolutely!

My husband and I were craving Mediterranean food and then found this Moroccan restaurant—and what a fantastic find! I had never tried Moroccan food before, so I was really excited. To my surprise, not only was it very affordable, but the flavors were absolutely incredible, and the portions were extremely generous. My husband ordered the traditional couscous with chicken and veggies, which came in a huge plate and was incredibly delicious. I went for something simpler—chicken kebabs with salad and rice—and it was cooked to perfection. For dessert, we treated ourselves to a Napoleon cake, which was just the right balance of flaky and creamy. One of the highlights of our visit was chatting with the chef, who shared a bit about Morocco and the inspiration behind the dishes. The service was top-notch, and the interior design was beautiful, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. And let’s not forget the Moroccan tea—fragrant, flavorful, and the perfect way to end the meal! Overall, this place exceeded our expectations in every way. Delicious food, generous portions, great service, and a warm, inviting ambiance. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to!I’m

Google
Eating at TajineXpress was an awesome experience, offering a genuine taste of Moroccan cuisine that is both delicious and authentic. The owner's warmth and hospitality enhance the dining experience, making you feel genuinely welcomed. The restaurant's cleanliness and the enchanting Moroccan music playing in the background create a delightful ambiance. Having a Moroccan friend with me who vouched for its authenticity and felt reminded of home was the ultimate seal of approval.

Flavourful food and amazing service will definitely bring me back. I'll recommend everyone, please try their beef/lamb couscous.

Google
I grew up eating authentic Moroccan food and this place delivers. Fresh with flavor, the food is the best Moroccan/Mediterranean food in Orlando… and probably in central Florida too. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere reminds me of being in Morocco. I walked in and it was a blessing to see all different types of people come in to order especially during Ramadan. It truly reminds me of home!

Google
You order on the kiosk which is nice and because you can see all the options but you also miss the personal touch but I still liked it because you didnt have to wait. The food was really good. The bread omg took us back to being in Morocca so good. The tea also , so glad we were able to add or omit the sugar if we wanted to. The decor also reminded us of Fez. Hubby had the Lamb with couscous and I had the beef with prunes tajine. Glad we finally went there

Lindsay D.

Yelp
Our first time eating Moroccan food and it was very good! We loved the aesthetic of the restaurant and the staff were very friendly. After explaining the various options to us, of course, we had to try the traditional clay pot dishes. I ordered the lemon chicken tajine and my wife ordered the vegetable tajine. Mine was very flavorful; the vegetable dish was a bit one note, but we both enjoyed the fluffy Moroccan bread. It was also recommended to get the mint tea and almond briwat (pastries with almonds and honey). Both were excellent!! Looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes.

Yelp
The decor was very cute with great ambience and evoked very Mediterranean vibes. It was empty when we arrived and we ordered at a little kiosk. It took awhile for the food to come out but it was kinda nice to sit in that ambience. We got zaalouk (~$4)and beef kefta- meatballs tajine (~$14). They were both quite yummy though I will say that the beef kefta was essentially glorified tiny meatballs with eggs but that doesn't mean it wasn't yummy. We dipped the free bread into the zaalouk and beef which was very fun. I enjoyed the meal! We also got Moroccan coffee which was very suit and tasted like a chai coffee as well as a Moroccan mint tea which I think was too bitter. They might've added too many leaves for the amount of water because even adding sugar didn't get rid of it.

Yelp
This is a phenomenal - 5 star - authentic Moroccan restaurant. I spent all of August in Morocco, and it was incredible to find this food upon my arrival home in Florida - just as if I'd never left. It's hard (likely impossible) to find real Moroccan cuisine where I live (Jacksonville area), so, we were particularly thrilled to find this place in Orlando. The owner is very friendly, and passionate about food. Don't hesitate to try anything (and everything) on this menu - it's all authentic, and delicious. You must get some Moroccan mint tea to compliment your meal too! The interior is lovely, and made me feel as if I was back in Morocco (real Moroccan lamps hanging from the ceilings, tile tables, real tagines all over the restaurant). I highly recommend this restaurant, and if you live close by just know that I'm jealous of you :)

Deborah K.

Yelp
I love trying new flavors. I don't usually eat goat or lamb. My husband had the lamb which came with artichokes and peas. My daughter had the goat which was made with chick peas and golden raisins. My stew was a little too salty but the pita and round loaf bread were a perfect pair. The hummus went well with the bread too. You order and pay at the kiosk and then be seated. It took about 15 minutes to be served. My daughter said the last time she was there they served the mint tea in a pot. When she asked if we could have it that way again, they said they are no longer serving it that way. Bummer. However, the many mint leaves really made the tea burst with flavor! I enjoyed the cobalt blue walls with the art. Plus the Moroccan side tables really added to the ambiance and restaurant theme.

Yelp
The food is fresh and amazing!! The best calamari in town. Their lemon chicken is to die for! Everything was delicious. Good prices, service and the best morrocan food. La comida es fresca y sorprendente!! Los mejores calamares de la ciudad. ¡Su pollo al limón es para morirse! Todo estuvo delicioso. Buenos precios, servicio y la mejor comida marroquí.

Huda A.

Yelp
Fresh, delicious food! I placed an order to go and it was ready on time. Service was great and the staff was kind. The decor took me right back to my trip to Morocco!

Crystal C.

Yelp
The lamb couscous is sweet! Yuk, they have a kind of sweet potato in there that taste like it was boiled in sugar and the caramelized onions they put all inside the dish taste like sugar! So disgusting with a savory lamb dish, ruined the dish. Never again. Waste of $19. Im putting 5 stars for the shrimp kabob with rice n veggies and the fresh squeezed OJ

Kadeem S.

Yelp
This place was immaculate, the service was amazing the owners were there and gave us the history of the restaurant and the food they served. My cup of mint tea never went empty. The vibrant decor and the delicious food made my dining experience highly memorable.

Lucy L.

Yelp
All I can say is...WOW. My mouth and stomach (and wallet) are so happy to be able to have food like this in Orlando. The flavors are so complex with a variety of textures. I am now used to paying $20-$30 per entree at places like Bosphorous (not the same cuisine of course but has common elements), but this is so reasonably priced in comparison, and honestly better (I've had dishes at bosphorous that are on the dry side ngl). It will satisfy a large appetite, or treat small to average appetites with leftovers to look forward to later! We of course had to try a tagine so went with the beef. It was the weekend so we opted for a lamb couscous dish as well. Topped it off with a side of soup. Everything was incredibly delicious. The meat was tender, like fall-off-the-bone and of course we didn't neglect to extract the delicious marrow from the bones. There was a good amount of vegetables in the couscous for a bit of fiber. For two people with average appetites, it was a large amount of food, and I ended up taking home some and eating it as part of 3 more meals. It is located in an unassuming strip mall with a good amount of parking, although there seems to be an international grocery store opening soon so that might make the place get busier. The decor is very cute and I love all the colorful dishware they use. The workers are very nice but there's a self-order kiosk if you prefer no-contact ordering. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes!

H Miguel Y.

Yelp
Food is excellent. My wife and I shared Lamb Couscous. Raisins and cinnamon touch on the couscous mixed with potato, veggies, and onions. Kabob menu and ready within minutes! Adding pictures to see the ambiance and the layout. The Blue City part of the North of Morocco. Enjoy! PS: Mohammed is an amazing host. Excellent customer service!

Cristina K.

Yelp
The food is filled with delicious and fresh flavors! I went by myself the first time and brought my boyfriend back with me yesterday. I have family visiting from out of state and country next month and I plan on bringing them here as well. Highly recommend!

Nawal B.

Yelp
Strongly recommend this restaurant for authentic Moroccan food. I have tried several dishes and they were great. I Personally recommend my favorites the Kafka and the beef prunes Tajine. I am excited to Order catering and share fantastic food with my family. Nawal

Yelp
Our fourth time coming here, and the food is always tasty! The portions are good and really authentic. Highly recommend it!

Mohammad A.

Yelp
Amazing food, real authentic moroccan food. Great vibe and clean place. Great service. Definitely would recommend for anyone who loves international food.

Zina B.

Yelp
Order the lamb with artichoke dish and it was delicious. The service was great, they make you feel welcome and very pleasant. Will definitely be back! Thank you

Daniel H.

Yelp
Not very much fast casual Mediterranean areas that I can think of, tajine express delivered with what tasted like home cooking. I got the lemon chicken tajine and was well made and came with rice and bread. If you're into eggplant try the salad and wash it down with their Moroccan mint tea!

Walid S.

Yelp
When we heard about this new Moroccan place we rushed and drove a good 42 miles to try it. After being mesmerized by the beautiful decor and the cleanliness of the place we were excited for the visit. Then...We were disappointed in many aspects. The so labeled moroccan salad was lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers without any salt or dressing. Just plain veggies. Not moroccan by any standards. The lemon chicken tajine came with a few drops of sauce not enough to hold the dish together. The beef prunes tajine was four pieces of bones with barely any meat on them and a watery sauce along with prunes that were definitely were not cooked with the sauce. We asked for bread and we were charged extra for moroccan bread that ended up being regular greek pita bread. By the time we left 90 minutes later we still didn't get out sodas or even a cup of water. And to add insult to injury the appetizers came after we asked for the bill and were ready to leave. The only good experience we had were friendly but untrained staff. The hummus was good but we found from the staff that it came out of a can and not fresh made. We are willing to give it another try because we want to support ethnic variety but we may have to wait until they get their act together.

Victor C.

Yelp
I go to this place 1 per week, the flavor is amazing. Last time I got couscous with lamb, and it was mind blowing.. if you want healthy, delicious and good tasting food. This is place.

Jose M.

Yelp
Food is definitely worth trying. The people are very nice and treat you with respect. Good Moroccan food.

Susan L.

Yelp
Let's start with the good. The food is very good. The hummus was light and creamy with a perfect lemony overtone. The eggplant with tomatoes was a great appetizer for the price with nice chunks of eggplant. The lemon chicken tajine was pleasant , though lacking salt , reminded me of grandma's chicken in a good way. Only took a few bites since We only wanted a light snack so we are saving the tajine platter for tomorrow to make into tasty tacos The folks behind the counter were friendly but Please take Express our if the name. We ordered a soda, Hummus, zalook and chicken tajine. The tajine was to go. We sat there at least 20 minutes but no one offered us our soda or hummus appetizer. After I requested our soda we waited another 15 minutes. Ever wait so long you lose your appetite! This would not be the place to go if you have a limited lunch hour Side note: when we finally got our food we were told they were short handed. But I still think they need to work on the flow of service. Next time we will order ahead

John A.

Yelp
Came in for lunch with friends. I got the chicken kabobs which I enjoyed. My friends got chicken with lemon and olives, it was good and had this unique flavor that lingered. Wanted more. The ither dish we good was beef with prunes. That also had good flavor. Bread was delisc also. Food overall we enjoyed it. Service was nice and inside was set up for maybe 20 tables. You place your order then sit down and they will call you over.

Amir J.

Yelp
I've been to Morocco many times and this place makes me nostalgic . Excellent food.! Highly recommend them. The chicken tajine is great. My favorite is the prune and beef tajine!

Cindee P.

Yelp
This gorgeous spot was so beautiful. The decor looks authentic from Morocco. They had a video of someone touring Morocco playing on the television. The food was unique. I got the Goat and Zaalouk with an avocado smoothie. The French fries look simple, but they were amazing. My nephews and niece fought over my fries.

Aranya B.

Yelp
Great variety and very tasty! Came here for a lunch date with my mom, she ordered the chicken kebabs and I got the beef kefta kebabs along with their iced mint tea. Also ordered the curry goat to go---the flavors were both sweet and savory. The $$$ can add up if it's a group of 3 or more but the portions and quality were decent. We will be back!

Samy A.

Yelp
The taste of authenticity Moroccan food At great price food highly recommended especially the lemon chicken I will definitely be come back

Idrees K.

Yelp
I frequent here quite often! I usually get the Chicken Tajine but I wanted to try something new. I tried Msemen (which is like a flaky, Moroccan Pancake that is eaten with honey) and a Merguez sandwich (A Moroccan beef sausage sandwich). I highly recommend this restaurant for all of their menu items!

Al R.

Yelp
I finally had the chance to try this place and the experience in short was Great. Place is welcoming with nice blend of vibrant colors and seating area. The food looked good but tasted Great. Very friendly Staff and prices are reasonable given the High quality of food served. Very Clean premises which is a rare commodity theses days in restaurants. I Wish it was close to where I live, but I will certainly visit anytime I'm in town. Thank you

Zahra M.

Yelp
Amazing food! Amazing service! Super clean and highly recommend! The mint tea and couscous is a must have!

Stephanie G.

Yelp
We do food reviews and chose Taiine Express due to the high ratings, we weren't disappointed. We appreciate rested chicken tajine, beef tajine, lamb couscous, msemen, and Briwat sampler. There were so many flavors in each dish, everything was delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant, the cost is about $10-$20 per person.

Carolina R.

Yelp
I love TajineXpress. We are not of Moroccan descent, but my parents lived in Tangier for many years. So my family has a fondness for Moroccan cuisine. We've done 3 family get-togethers here, and the consensus is always the same... the food is just amazing! This last time we ordered the lamb couscous (weekends only), the goat curry, and the roasted chicken with olives and preserved lemons. For the couscous we always get harissa sauce (it is not too spicy) and extra tfaya, which is a topping of onions and raisins. All meals come with flat bread. Some of the dishes have a choice of rice or fries. The side of Moroccan Loubia (a white been stew) is a must! This is the perfect place to just order a bunch of entrees and sides and just share amongst your party. The owners and staff are really welcoming. The place is casual. Nicely decorated. It's a place were you feel comfortable. They take great care in seasoning their dishes. I wish them great success and I hope they stick around for a long time because we really want to come here again and again.

Bob Q.

Yelp
Food was fresh and excellent. Clean and comfortable place to eat. Highly recommend. Chicken kabobs and soup.

Louis I.

Yelp
Very disappointing after reading all the positive reviews. The bread was the best part about it, and there wasn't anything particularly special about it. The rest of the meal was just bland. The lemon chicken had the slightest hint of lemon, but was mostly just a somewhat dry and bland chicken. The shrimp tasted like they had been cooked long before, and the "beef" is just completely unseasoned ground beef balls. Hummus wasn't bad, but the pita sold with it was rock hard; good thing they also had the softer bread to make up for that. We ordered to go, and the fries were just thrown in, soaked in sauce by the time we got home (along with the rest of the bag because the packaging wasn't watertight). Just really very disappointing all around. I was hoping for much more.

Travis S.

Yelp
Delicious! We went on a Friday and they couscous on weekends only so I got the lamb couscous dish that came with the lamb and roasted veg. It was incredible. My friends got the kebabs. We all enjoyed are food and the service was so friendly. The seating is a bit limited, but the ambiance is warm and inviting. Five stars for the food!

Jason P.

Yelp
Did take out from here, food was packaged well, The flavors were really good, very rich and warm curry, can't wait to try other items on the menu

Michael F.

Yelp
The food is great, I always look forward to eating from here. I feel really good right after eating it too. Variety of flavors, unlike any I've tasted.

Evan S.

Yelp
This place is great. Got the trio combo which comes with shrimp, chicken, and beef. Flavors were wonderful. Chicken was cooked perfectly. The shrimp were big and the beef was seasoned perfectly. Will definitely be back soon.

Hamdy E.

Yelp
What an absolute pleasure this food was, I was looking for authentic tasting middle eastern food while in Orlando and I couldn't have been happier. Family owned evidenced by the warmth given upon entry and appreciation to detail in the location itself and its decor. Casual place perfect for lunch or dinner and you order at the counter....Ordered a mix plate (trio kebab) which consisted of ground beef (kofta), chicken kebab and shrimp all done over a grill. On the other plate was a Tajine lemon chicken over bone was as tender as it comes, the rice which pretty much let's you know this place is authentic because of its vermicelli included in it (only a true middle eastern place has this type of rice) the bread was baked fresh on the spot and the Harira soup we ordered on the side was the perfect dip for that bread, the Moroccan salad was also fresh and tasty. The decor inside was super warm and a perfect Moroccan touch, make sure you end the meal with the tea, a perfect parting gift for yourself. Go in and enjoy this place yourself, you'll see!

Rose V.

Yelp
my new favorite restaurant come on weekends for couscous it's soo good!!! Also try Moroccan coffee if u haven't already also they bake their own Moroccan bread that's kind of epic

Randell R.

Yelp
Awesome restaurant! The food is great and the people are even better! My wife and I love the Lemon Chicken Tajine!!

Joshua G.

Yelp
This place is amazing. The ambiance they've been able to create in the middle of an urban area is impressive. The staff is always super friendly and attentive to your needs. The food is top notch and provides a taste that's different from your typical American restaurant. Their waiting time is shorter than restaurants with similar meals, so that's another win for them. They also have tons of parking space.

Jean-Marc G.

Yelp
We went in for the authentic mint tea, and stayed for dinner thanks to the great atmosphere and kind service. The couscous and tajine are delicious. Their deserts (especially the Moroccan pancakes) are well worth the stop and taste exactly like the ones I've had in Morocco.

Nico D.

Yelp
Best moroccan food in Florida!! Hands down. Great taste, great portions, and even better service. Place was clean, and location is perfect!

Laura B.

Yelp
We ordered our dinner for pick up as it was a weeknight . Was so pleased to have found this hidden gem. The food was cooked to order. The kitchen is behind the front counter so you can see them cooking and handling your food. Everything was clean. Beautiful decor. The food was absolutely delicious. We had chicken kebabs and salmon, both with rice and the salad it comes with. We also had a side of arugula, quinoa and chickpea salad that has feta cheese and a sweet hint in the dressing. And... the owner suggested an eggplant salad that you eat with bread and this turned out to be our favorite. It was a lot of food for two people but very tasty and healthy. Will go back...

Rachel N.

Yelp
Love this place. Orlando has been due for a Moroccan restaurant for a long time now, and TajineXpress does a great job. It's a clean environment with decent prices, the couscous is great, try the m'semmen for an authentic sweet treat with mint tea.

Alice Z.

Yelp
The food was SUPERB! We got the zaalouk (eggplant & tomato salad) and devoured it within minutes. The bread that came with it was equally delicious. Then we had the family sized curry goat with sides of rice and bean. It was so sweet and oily, made for bread dipping! Loved it. Did I mention how cute the place looks? See the pics for yourself!

Tony S.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised. Just FYI, we ordered way too much food. Between 4, we had hummus, spring rolls, arugula with quinoa salad-added chicken, beef Kafka with rice and Mediterranean salad, and a huge tajine of lamb curry (pictured). Staff was very friendly, and the food was very, very tasty.

Tj A.

Yelp
Amazing flavor & super authentic Moroccan cuisine. Nothing like it around Orlando, especially serving in a clay tajine. We went with the lemon chicken & chicken kababs - both were outstanding! We will be back for certain.

Kim R.

Yelp
Delicious Moroccan food. Had the chicken tanjine and rice. Make sure you try the tea and get extra bread. Friendly service.

Manal A.

Yelp
great authentic moroccan cuisine! delicious food and quick service, friendly staff. nice interior seating inspired by the moroccan city of Chefchaouen, beautiful Moroccan decor. there aren't too many menu options but it's well-varied and tastes great. really recommend this to anyone looking to try moroccan food!

Pete B.

Yelp
Went there the day they opened. We ordered the chicken and was tasty. The service was also fast and friendly. Look forward to visit again. Great start!
