Google
The tacos are AMAZING!!! They have so many great margs too! All their flavors are half off until 7pm on thurs-sat! Such a great deal. Customer service was amazing too and made us feel so at home.

Gurleen Kaur

Google
Cute Mexican restaurant! The tacos are good, more of a modern healthy take than an authentic taco but still delicious. The French toast was really good, definitely recommend! My only complaint is they charge for salsa but don't tell you they will which felt a little strange.

Alex Sandoval

Google
Chloe was absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for customizing our orders. Extremely kind and attentive. Marco, the manager was also super kind and amazing! I definitely recommend coming here for food and bottomless mimosas. This place does not disappoint ever! And the queso fondido - 🔥 yum!

Google
Really great service. The eggs are super soft, probably whipped with some cream before cooked. Their coffee braised beef is almost sweet initially amd them the saltiness kicks in about 3 seconds later. Their omlette portion sizes seemed a little small, but the quality was fantastic. Really cozy environment with a large skylight towards the rear of the restaurant. So much booze. Menus are electronic via QR code

Google
First off, service was great and a clear example of how it should be at all restaurants. Margs were good, tacos were good. I’d probably skip on the pork belly taco but that’s just me.I’m not a big guac fan at all but the pineapple guac here was quite tasty. I think this really deserves a 4.5, but hey, we’ll round up today!

Stopped by for a snack during a street fest and the patio was fairly busy. They have a handful of tables outside and plenty of seating inside. We tried the pork belly taco (cheese on the side). It was good, but a bit dry and would’ve benefited from salsa being added to it. They have a number of new items in their menu, but they weren’t available the day we came.

Google
Truly a staple in my rotation of restaurants. Takito is the pinnacle of all creative tacos I've tried. The crispy fish taco is what I compare all fish tacos to, and Takito's wins every time. The environment, drinks, guacamole - it's all on point. They've kept their prices low even as everywhere around them bumps up and up. I personally would never consider for a second to stop going if they did end up raising their prices, because everything is absolutely worth it.

Yelp
The best and most unique tacos! Went here on Thursday night and had the best time. Our server was amazing. Definitely recommend the potato and steak taco and the elote taco!

Lisa D.

Yelp
My best friend and myself went here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. The good part - the complimentary cinnamon toast crunch is really good and the bottomless mimosas were amazing especially for the price. You're not left waiting for a refill once you've finished a glass. The free shrimp ceviche we got for checking in was great also The ok part - I got the French toast (pretty good) and while the preserves were something different for me, I wish they would've had syrup to go along with it. I also ordered a side of chorizo sausage and didn't care for it. The bad part - my friend ordered the chilaquiles and they came out on the colder side. They remade her food but this time when it came back it was really bland. She didn't eat most of her food. Overall an ok place with great mimosas if nothi

Allegra A.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Sunday and it didn't disappoint! We got the flaming queso to start and it was delicious and definitely lived up to the name as our server lit it on fire! For my entree I got the breakfast tacos and added braised beef to them. While it was only 2 tacos, the portions were generous and I wasn't hungry after eating them. The beef was so fresh and I would highly recommend it! My friend got chicken tinga tacos and liked them as well. The ambiance was fun and I could definitely see the place being more busy if it wasn't a rainy Sunday at lunch time. Our server, Shakira was friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations on what to try. The $12 bottomless mimosa deal (with purchase of an entree) will be hard to beat anywhere around town for brunch. Overall, I'm happy we stopped in for brunch and hope to be back in the future :)

Sam L.

Yelp
I really like the brunch here! The space is nice and the prices are really good. I came with some friends for brunch on sunday afternoon. We all got the bottomless mimosas deal, which was $10 per person at the time we went. This is probably the best deal I've found so far for mimosas, and they were great! We ordered the chorizo omelete, amish chicken omelete, and chilaquiles rojo. Everything was good, but I really liked the chilaquiles. I really enjoyed the experience and the price, and J would definitely go back!

Joneice B.

Yelp
Been here several times. On this occasion came for Taco Tuesday specials. On Tuesdays they have $3 tacos (for the most part). Between us girls we ate about 4 tacos each. Unanimously agreed that Shrimp Taco with Strawberry Pico was thee favorite. We also enjoyed the Skirt Steak and the Fish Taco. Our night was very pleasant with Juan guiding us through the menu. Juan also was very good about telling us his favorite entrees. Three Yelp Elite ladies left very happy on Taco Tuesday. So nice to bond over food and hang with these girlfriends. Drinks: Passion Fruit Margarita with sugar room was my favorite. Gabby loved Lychee Margarita.

Gabrielle B.

Yelp
Happy hour - on point. Service- Juan- on point. He went out of our way to ensure we had a good time and stayed on top of Happy Hour specials. Friendly, candid, quick, attentive! A+ Margaritas- YES @Lychee, Passion Fruit, Pineapple (among others) Taco Tuesday- $3 per taco, mix and match! Food- Delish (try the shrimp taco- omg, that strawberry pico! I liked the elote taco too)

Rachel M.

Yelp
Came here for brunch and couldn't be happier! Their bottomless mimosas were $10 if you got an entree. Otherwise they were $18 which is still a great price. I had the French toast which was good. My friends had that and the steak and eggs and chiquiles. All good!

Jamie K.

Yelp
So glad I came here! We ordered so many different things that I'll highlight what we loved the most: Mushroom Queso Fundido Polenta & Pork Belly yumminess Shrimp tacos with a fruit salsa Steak taco The one mushroom taco was as much as two of anything, and I had ordered two, it was good but happy I didn't get the two based upon that price. I'd say that this was my only concern. The food was all delicious and we all happily shared. But seriously... that mushroom queso fundido Thank you!

Carina L.

Yelp
Omg my friends and I had so much fun! At first I was skeptical since I'm from California and assumed that Mexican food couldn't be that good in the midwest. It was BETTER! We ordered several seafood options because a number of us have ancestry from the Vietnam coast - (so we KNOW seafood) - we ordered their lobster, squid, fish, and shrimp and my we were impressed. We also ordered the pork belly, lamb, carne asada, and while all of it was good, the lamb was the BEST. That's also impressive bc it can be hard to remove the smell of lamb and this one was tender and perfectly seasoned. Finally our server worked very hard and was super sweet. The manager came and bought us two rounds of shots which was really cool bc it was my friend's bachelorette party. All in all, a wonderful experience.

Thuy H.

Yelp
My bf and I are from atlanta and we came to the right spot for margaritas n tacos! PASSIONFRUIT margaritas & shrimp tacos were amazing! Service was great - ask for Juan to make your drink and Mars to serve you.

Jordan C.

Yelp
There aren't a lot of places to get good, let alone great, tacos on the north side of the city, but Takito Kitchen on Division is one that goes straight to the top of the list. Tacos are made fresh to order, a wide variety of options that will keep you coming back. The tacos themselves are hand rolled masa, providing a perfect texture and integrity for each bite. I do wish the masa was seasoned a bit more heavily, but perhaps they want the ingredients in the shells to shine. And they do! The earthy mushroom taco was excellent, perfectly seared and seasoned, really delicious. The cocktail program is pretty good as all, some unique ideas and something for everyone. Pricewise, you just can't beat it. Chips and pistachio tomatillo salsa, three orders of tacos, and two drinks for about $50? Absolutely.

Danny B.

Yelp
Just a strange experience. Very weird types of food, the queso fundido was some of the worst I've had, not melty at all. Also had a weird experience with the manager commenting on my shirt.

Khadijah H.

Yelp
Takito kitchen on a taco Tuesday night?.. is that spot!!! Huge shout out to the server Juan who really did above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable experience. Juan is the bartender who also was our server due to slow staffing but was quick efficient and respectful. Bar takito, is a well know taco place that aims to surprise and wow their customers with their take on different tacos. There are no vegan options but there are pescatarian and vegetarian options available. I personally ordered 2 shrimp tacos, 1 lobster, 1 fish and 1 lamb with a tamarin cilantro margarita. Shrimp tacos were hands down the best and the strawberry pico de gallo really set it off. The fish was filling and crispy but reminded me of fish sticks. The lamb was dry. I would've wanted it to be pulled lamb not a stick. The lobster was good and chewy. Not dry but very small amount. For $4.95, I expected more. All the tacos were favorable and carried their own but shrimp won. All in all for $26 I'd return and try other dishes.

Caro R.

Yelp
First time visiting this restaurant. Good experience. Margaritas were delicious. We started out with the guacamole, bland not much flavor and the tiniest of serving. Queso con chorizo was greasy but still good. Tacos, unfortunately you can't mix and match. I ordered crispy shrimp, just ok. My friend ordered the carnitas, delicious!! Service was quick but almost to the point of hurry up and leave. Considering the restaurant was empty , that seemed strange. But will definitely try again one day.

Rob M.

Yelp
Editing this because the margs were SO good but what I originally wrote wasn't really coherent or well written. Takito Kitchen deserves better. I came here tonight with 20 people who I met at work. About 10 of them I knew loosely before this event, I would say that we all left as best friends. I would say that Mark and I are absolute boys. Anyway, my boy Brosko and I walk in (you cannot spell Brosko without Rob) and we sat at a table for two. Mark, being the kind soul that he is, invited us to sit with his group. As a former victim of childhood bullying, this kindness goes a long way with me. Anyway, the margs here are fire/flames and we had a sick time. I'm glad I worked 40 hours so far this week because I'll be able to take a half day tomorrow and easily explain it away. Food is awesome here. I don't remember the names of the tacos I got but they were amazing. Different but like in the best way. The owners are incredible. I almost wish I lived in this neighborhood so I could come here everyday. Chloe, Marco (GM) are incredible hosts. Takito Kitchen rules. Everyone should come here.

Gabbi L.

Yelp
Really good drinks and a really good happy hour which was half off the margaritas. We sat on the patio which was really nice and the staff was attentive. We got the pineapple salsa as well which was very tasty and refreshing. We will definitely be back for the happy hour specials or taco tuesday!

Rohan P.

Yelp
Great tacos, amazing cocktails. Jackson was amazing! The pork belly and crispy fish tacos were delicious. Jackson is also amaze balls. Queso fundido was fire. Also Jackson saved my mother from a house fire.

Grant S.

Yelp
Wow. We had a WONDERFUL experience at Takito Kitchen tonight for dinner and I just had to share. First and foremost, Taco Tuesdays at Takito Kitchen is a treasure and you need to get yourself there the next possible Tuesday you can. Not only do they provide the most delicious, high quality, and varied tacos imaginable, but they offer them at the amazing price of $2.95! My husband and I both got 4 tacos. We had lots of crossover, but in all total we had the Chicken Pastor, Beef Barbacoa, Pork Belly, Lamb, and Mushroom tacos. Each taco was absolutely divine and I wouldn't change a single thing (except for get more tacos and try the other kinds)! But we agreed that the coffee braised beef Barbacoa and the Pork Belly. I also loved the Earthy Mushroom Taco. Yum yum yummy! We also ordered drinks from their great alcohol menu! I got the La Paloma (which came in the most adorable clay cup) and LOVED it! The perfect combo of sweet, sour, and a touch of savory. My husband enjoyed a Modelo. We also got an order of chips and salsa to start. Deliciously salty and crispy chips! And the creamy green salsa was super flavorful and spicy. Yum! Price's were great, COVID precautions were followed, there is outdoor seating to be extra safe (that's where we sat), and the staff were kind, helpful, and welcoming. All in all, our time at Takito Kitchen was phenomenal AND affordable. We look forward to our next Taco Tuesday visit!

Jaime J.

Yelp
We've been to Takito Kitchen a few times and they never disappoint! The food is delicious every time and drinks are great too. Their happy hour can't be beat! Every time we've gone the servers are super nice and attentive. If you haven't been, go! If you've been before, go again! Their steak and potato taco was to die for

Latrice A.

Yelp
Rainy Sunday Funday we descend here on a cool afternoon. We had planned this outing weeks ago and definitely was looking forward. I ran to get in quickly realized I was not wearing a mask apologize and one was located for me and I really appreciate the extra mile so I didn't have to go back to my car. Several bday celebrations were being held there and I noted someone bring in their cake I thought that was cool you can bring outside dessert. I'm still not eating meat so my choice was avocado toast and side of home fries it was descent the pesto on the toast was different but Yummy eggs cooked on top were included. Mimosa were unlimited if choose bottomless option. The server was busy seemed like he has multiple table but the bussers were on their jobs neva let the glasses go empty ! My good sis glass stayed top off lol

Rachael S.

Yelp
My father saw this place on TV and spontaneously decided we were going. I'm glad he did because the spicy Marg was very good and the tacos were filled with flavor. I loved the mushroom taco the most! We didn't have a reservation, but were sat right away and the service was top notch. I'd like to return to try brunch. Keep in mind, this is not a tiny little taco shop. The tacos are on the pricey side (2 per order), but the quality was worth it for us.

Denyce M.

Yelp
This is going to be a good, bad and ugly review for Takito Kitchen (can you tell I am watching a spaghetti western while writing this?). Let's start with the ugly which is parking. Holy Mother of Sweet Black Baby Jesus, I lucked out and got a spot because he loves me, but my BFF drove for 20 min before finding one. This was my first time going here, won't be the last but definitely won't be driving there. Parking is nuts so be prepared to lose your damn mind if you do not have me in the car with you. The bad was the price of the margaritas. First let me state that the strawberry margarita was delish, so fresh and flavorful, but at $22 a pop, that is crazy town the way I like to drink. But I did have two as I needed one to wash down the food. This was a large one, but man I need to see something in a fishbowl for that price. The good was the food, from the polenta to the tacos. Damn good! The 3 Sisters Polenta was nirvana (Brunkow cheddar, smoked bacon, pickled chilies, and freeze-dried corn). When I think polenta, I tend to think Italian restaurants, but man Takito Kitchen knocked this out of the ballpark. This was so damn creamy and brimming with flavor. It was so good that I took most of it home so I could have it for breakfast with some toast points and champagne. Again, that damn good. We also got the Shrimp Ceviche (tomato-habanero sauce, avocado, red onion, cucumber, cilantro, and tostadas). This was also very good and fresh, but a little on the spicy side for me, but I still ate it because it was so fresh tasting. For dinner I got the Coffee Braised Beef Barbacoa (corn tortilla, queso fresco, pickled jicama, cilantro, and peanuts), Pork Belly (corn tortilla, tomatillo and pineapple salsa, house ricotta cheese, coleslaw, and crispy potato) and Lamb (corn tortilla, Brunkow cheese, cilantro, tomatillo pistachio, charred cucumber, and jicama) tacos. All were on the small side in terms of size but massive in flavor. All three were delicious but man that lamb one blew me away because I am a sucker for lamb. It was succulent and juicy, with a great flavor. Can't say it was Mexican in flavor, but I didn't care because it is something I have always thought would make a great taco and I was right. I got a side of the cilantro rice to go with the tacos and it was okay. I saw on the menu that they do a brunch, so I would like to check that out, especially since they have bottomless mimosas. But I would definitely go back just for those lamb tacos and polenta, I just would not get the margaritas and take a taxi.

Jazz S.

Yelp
Great spot for Taco Tuesdays and happy hours! On Tuesdays any taco from the menu is only $2.95. For the price, it was so fun to try a bunch out. I was looking forward to the mushroom one but they had a different veggie replacement. Drinks were really pretty and appropriately priced! Service was a bit up and down but overall they were really friendly! The noise level was not too high which we appreciate but they did keep the door open which got a little chilly. They have a small cute patio too.

Kathleen O.

Yelp
This is a great spot for reliably fresh & good food. The pineapple Serrano margarita is particularly good with mezcal. Between the various times I've been here, I've tried most of the tacos on the menu and they're all great. The one thing that is tricky is getting the right amount of appetizers for the size of group. The appetizer portions are not large, so you'll probably want to get more than one (this is particularly true with the guacamole). But the service has always been good here. And the happy hour deal on margaritas is great!

Alvin T.

Yelp
Takito's in Wicker is a small little restaurant that offers some very cheap deals for brunch. My friends and I went for there $15 bottomless mimosas and they were quick to refill and keep you hydrated with those mimosas. Where Takito slightly lacks is the food. While the prices look great--it's because the portions are tiny. I ordered the pork belly sope and it felt like a salty appetizer that I had to load with hot sauce to finish. I think this a great place for bottomless mimosas, but the food leaves more to be desired.

Joe L.

Yelp
Tacos are way over priced for what you get. I make better guacamole at home. The server told us the happy hour was half off so because of that, we got two big margaritas at $10 a piece (half of $20), they dropped them off & said they were wrong & are actually $16 a piece. We asked for the price they originally sold us in & the managers said no. Last time I'll walk into this restaurant blocks from my house.

Jacky D.

Yelp
Came back because of the $2 deal! Same experience and vibe as the first time. Tacos came out way faster this time which is a pleasant surprise. Tried two different tacos from the first time! I enjoyed these a lot more which makes the deal even better!! Beef barbacoa: my new favorite! Juicy, great flavor. Slight crunch from the peanuts and pickled jicama. 8.5/10 Steak: good amount of steak! Good slice that it had a slight chew but nothing difficult to eat through. Nice piece of avocado. 8.3/10

Jen S.

Yelp
Veggie queso was great and love the salty tortilla chips. Esquites were over priced for such a small portion, and the guac was also a bit small for the price tag. Mezcal ginger mule was Ambiance was meh, a little quiet and drab for a sunny Sunday at noon, despite the semi-loud hip hop and reggaeton.

Sandra C.

Yelp
Very solid Mexican Restaurant. Nice staff and a good vibe. This place gets a lot of attention for it's Quesabirria - I would not be surprised if you've seen the images at some point on Yelp. I personally come for the Breakfast Burritos and occasionally the Pambazo Torta. The food is tasty and the portions are quite generous. I would be inclined to give this place a five star rating, but I will say that I think the prices are a bit steep ($25.99 for Four Quesabirria Tacos, pre-Tax/Tip), and I feel like 7:30pm is a bit early in terms of closing. But, overall I stop by at least once a month. If you have never had a Pambazo, it's worth a try especially if you are hungry. It is a torta with Beans, Potatoes, Chorizo, Lettuce, Tomato and Crema. It's on a Torta Roll and I'm pretty sure it's dipped in some kind of sauce before being grilled on the griddle. $11.99. Half would fill most people up. Oh yeah - Do not miss the Mild Green Salsa. I LOVE it!

Caitlyn C.

Yelp
Always a good time at Takito Kitchen. Came here for brunch after the shamrock shuffle -- Marco and Sam were super kind and welcoming! Loved the bottomless mimosas. The french toast was my fave! Good atmosphere and friendly people - we will be back!

Rachel B.

Yelp
Jackson was amazing the entire time we were there! Tacos are delicious and drinks were a n point. did I mention that Jackson was awesome? HE IS.

Justin S.

Yelp
First and last time customer, Chicago native (actual resident) and as much a taco eater as any, though this was no taco experience I've ever had. A simple order of pork and crispy fish tacos (two tacos per) plus chips and salsa yielded a bill of $27 and some change, which would normally be worth it if the tacos were larger than my index finger. By far smaller than the traditional street tacos with dressed up approach that left me wanting for 4 more, some place else. Bottom line not worth the cost any which way anyone could try and justify.

Gurleen K.

Yelp
Cute Mexican restaurant! The tacos are good, more of a modern healthy take than an authentic taco but still delicious. The French toast was really good, definitely recommend! My only complaint is they charge for salsa but don't tell you they will which felt a little strange.

Elia L.

Yelp
Went to this place last night and I was really impressed with the service and flavorful food. We ordered the salsa pistachio that was different and good. Hhighly recommend the esquito corn, a little spicy and scrumptious. The fish tacos were our favorite. Cute place very narrow but plenty of seating. Not a place for large groups, but great to go with friends! Everything was delicious, highly recommended!

Michelle J.

Yelp
This review is solely based on the food and the front of house staff. I made a reservation on open table. When you read the info about the restaurant it says outdoor seating is first come first serve and a reservation cannot be made in advance. Upon arriving we asked the hostess if we could sit outside ( several open tables ) the hostess had responded no, those are reserved. I had said that when making the reservation and on their website it says that the tables outside cannot be reserved. With attitude she said I can show you to a table inside. We proceeded to follow and the the hostess disappeared. No idea where we were to sit, I began walking back to ask and someone kindly said your table is over here. The first table we were seated at was at a hightop table. The back of the table was against an electrical panel that was painted over, not locked. This is completely illegal, not only in the city but per NFPA guidelines. I requested to be moved, and again, with attitude was presented in front of the busing station, bar side (photo attached) we ordered cocktails - very good. The queso, guacamole and salsa. The guacamole was an ice scream scoop with 10 chips. The queso for some reason was lit at the table side- confusing because this wasn't a green restaurant. The salsa arrived ( a small ramekin) that had an awkward spoiled smell and tasted sour and not right. I'm embarrassed to say that we made dinner reservations elsewhere because of how disappointed we were at the entire situation.... With all of the restaurants available in the city this wouldn't even reach my top 100.

Jasmin V.

Yelp
Had a great Saturday brunch here this weekend! I ordered my favorite, the pork belly sope; crispy, delicious, and fresh. We also order chicken chilaquilles and breakfast tacos, everything was so good. Took advantage of their bottomless mimosas and Kloe our server made sure it lived up to the name, she was very kind and attentive even though she was very busy. Jackson was also super awesome and made us a signature strawberry shot..when you visit, order a round, trust me!

Glenda Y.

Yelp
Food is so delicious.... I'm speechless for once.... Taco Tuesday is the greatest invention ever here lol

Marlene S.

Yelp
This is a great spot for bottomless mimosa brunch! Out pitcher was never empty and $15 each? A total steal!!! Service was great and the food was tasty. My reason for 4 starts is because we left hungry lol

Shawna H.

Yelp
Ordered take out and portions were extremely tiny! Ordered 12 tacos, guacamole and shrimp ceviche thinking it could feed 4 people but was basically enough food as an appetizer for us. I am not sure how the food tastes at the restaurant itself but take out tasted pretty dry. Guacamole was decent but it was extremely tiny and the shrimp ceviche had an abundance of arugula over shrimp itself, which was strange since I have never had arugula in ceviche before Overall taste of takeout: 5/10 Overall quality for price 2/10

Alyse D.

Yelp
We came in with a big group on a Friday night and Ave took such great care of us! He was so knowledgeable of the menu, helped us split our checks and kept us laughing the whole night. The grilled pineapple guacamole was refreshing and the pork belly tacos were a crowd favorite. We'll be back!

Kayla T.

Yelp
Went here for the $10 bottomless mimosas. The post doesn't specify that you need to buy an entree for each person that wants bottomless mimosas. Food and drinks were still good, but it wasn't as good of a deal as it appeared to be since we had to get so many entrees. I think the ad should be changed to include that it's $10 mimosas WITH purchase of an entree.

Andre A.

Yelp
We had a great time hanging out here. There is a long list of margaritas available. The fried chicken tacos are delicious !

Lucas W.

Yelp
Went here for the first time when Big Star had waaay too long a line. Takito Kitchen had no line and some damn good tacos. Came back recently during COVID, plenty of outdoor space, reservations were easy. Food as good as always. The tacos are usually a bit unique which I love. Last time I had a lamb taco, kinda Mediterranean flavor, delicious. But I'll never forget I had a pork belly taco the first time I went and it was just this huge, rich, flavor-packed slab of meat. Crisp but melt in your mouth delicious. They're not the cheapest tacos, but well worth it.

Sherrita K.

Yelp
This was my first time ordering from here and it did not disappoint. I got the shrimp tacos... the taste and presentation is amazing. Good Job!

Love loooooveeeeee loooveee the Tamarind Margarita! COVID - Make reservations, plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. The staff wears masks and is very polite. Food/Drinks - Love the Tamarind margarita..ok I said that already, but honestly, sooooo good! I'm very familiar with tamarind because it's usually used in south-Indian food as an acidic component in sauces and it's also used in tangy chutneys in North India. I was very happy to know that's also fairly used in Mexican cuisine once I came to the U.S. so no wonder every time I see it on the menu, I get very excited. Anyways, history lesson apart, drinks were great because I also tried the traditional margarita and that was delicious as well. Also, I wasn't here for a meal so I just had Guac and chips, which was decent, IDK why it had arugula as a base though? Overall, will def return to try more

Yelp
My birthday week was off to a great start here at Takito Kitchen in wicker park. The drinks are amazing! (Cucumber Margarita by far my favorite) the food was delicious! And our waiter Alma was such a vibe! Thank you Alma for making the beginning of my birthday one to remember!

Yelp
Jackson was phenomenal, excellent waiter and service. We love the vibe here and usually come for taco Tuesday deals, but this most recent Saturday did not disappoint! The pineapple guacamole is my favorite of all time
