What Does Ube Taste Like? The Answer Depends. | Eater

"This hand-rolled bagel shop in Ward Village is known for its popular violet-hued ube cream cheese schmear. When fresh ube isn’t available, the shop substitutes locally grown Okinawan sweet potatoes to approximate the flavor while prioritizing local produce, acknowledging that the color and vibrancy differ from freshly prepared tuber." - Willy Blackmore

The Best Bagels in the US—Beyond New York

"Tali’s Bagels & Schmear is one of the few places in Hawaii making New York–style bagels. These bagels feature a crisp, slightly bubbled exterior and a chewy inside. The dozen or so schmears made from scratch by owners Talia and Kelly Bongolan-Schwartz set this bakery apart. The bakery started on Instagram during the pandemic and now supplies four farmers markets across Oahu. A new brick-and-mortar space is also opening soon."

The Very Best Bagels in the US (Yes, Outside New York) | Bon Appétit

"A Hawaii-based baker producing New York–style mini bagels with a crisp, slightly bubbled exterior and chewy interior, distinguished by a rotating roster of roughly a dozen house-made schmears reflecting diverse family backgrounds—smoked marlin whitefish salad, real-ube spread, and lomi lox cream cheese among them. Originating on Instagram, the operation scaled from home baking to an incubator kitchen and multiple farmers markets, with some walk-up–only items like weekly bialys." - ByBon Appétit Staff & Contributors

Google
I'm gonna go with 5 stars since there's no 4.5, the schmear was absolutely delicious. We got the Lomi I believe and it was perfect, really tasty smoked salmon with green onion. We both got everything bagels and thought they were good, something was a little too salty on the exterior for my taste and the texture of the bagel itself wasn't the softest but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Would definitely come back for the schmear alone. Cheers.

Google
Not bad. Way better than other previous bagel shops in Hawaii. My only two areas for them to improve were the bagels were a bit tough. And they lacked a hearty flavor. They were pretty good, yes, but I want a bit more taste from my yeast bagels. I ordered plain......as usual. Then ordered sesame seed. Ton of cream cheese on them. $7 bucks each....welcome to Hawaii. I like the staff and the vibe. I'd recommend this to others for sure.

Google
Small, cute, unpretencious little bagel store front. I got the homemade pesto melt on a garlic bagel and added egg. I also bought an 8oz schmear and additional bagels.

Ashley T.

Google
This place had delicious bagels and breakfast sandwiches. My wife and I shared a breakfast bagel with Portuguese sausage and eggs as well as another bagel with their specialty cream cheese. Both items were delicious and fresh! Would definitely come here again.

Google
Got the Bacon, Egg and Cheese (BEC) on everything bagel and it was so good! The pic doesn’t capture the steam rising up 😋 also got an Israeli iced coffee which was really sweet, like a Frappuccino. Not bad for walking around the mall and sipping! There can be a wait because it’s a popular spot with locals but it’s worth it!

Google
The everything bagel was delicious. I’m not much on the schmear, but if you’re a flavored cream cheese aficionado you’ll enjoy it. Staff was great. Great presentation from the store, but only a few cast iron tables if you prefer to eat there.

Brandyn A.

Google
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Tali's. My wife ordered a black and white sesame bagel with lemon/dill schmear and I got a BEC on the same bagel. Both were excellent. They turn their leftover bagels into bagel chips and I just had to take some with me. The ladies behind the counter were extremely friendly and were pumping out orders quickly. Sure it's pricey, but it's Hawaii and we're on vacation, so that didn't affect our enjoyment of some delicious bagels.

David S.

Google
I don’t have high expectations for bagels in Hawaii, but these were pretty good bagels, made fresh, with lots of flavor options for Schmears (cream cheeses). The Ube Schmear was great, but the highlight was the Israeli iced coffee with mac-nut tahini sauce. This Hawaiian twist on Israeli iced coffee was absolutely delicious, I would go back here just for more of it! The cashiers were very kind and helpful too. 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
If I could fly to Tali's once a week just for their bagels, I would! When the husband and I learned about Tali's on our most recent trip to Oahu, we absolutely needed to stop by. We loved this place so much, we came here twice! Their bagels are fresh, the vibe is relaxed, and the service was friendly. I recommend coming early and trying both a standard bagel and shmear, as well as one of their specialty sandwiches. This location does have plenty of free parking in a garage (we were able to park in the 15 min parking to run in for our order). Very easy to access and even easier to consume! Chef's kiss to Tali's!

Yelp
Had 1x before at Farmer's Market, and have tried to go Ward but they close early so never made it. Since went to morning yogs, thought PERF! Workers very nice...very sloooooow. Not good with multi-tasking...stop schmearing when they talk. Stop bagging when talking. The world seems to stop when they have to talk. I guess they aren't in any rush, but I had to get home to baby and get stuff done. Ordered a sampler. SUcker for a mini bagel...and i love variety. Got the classic bagels since I wanted flavored. Lomi Lox, Lemon Dill, and Everything. - Bagel - good chew and taste. Need to eat fresh...I brought home to share with the fam so little bit chewier, but still ono. - Lomi Lox - could use a smidge more lox, but otherwise good and tasty. - Lemon Dill - think needs more dill. I love dill, so I can always use more dill. But good flavor anyways. Baby liked it. Ate some of the bagel, but pretty much just licked off the cream cheese. - Everything - this was a little strange. The texture was more grainy. Still light and airy cream cheese, but the texture was weird. The taste was strange...maybe b/c vegan. I need my animal products animaly. But I can say I went vegan for a little while...1 bagel's worth of time. I do love that they put a ton of cream cheese on each bagel. I gotta scrape some off, but better than no-mo-nuff type places. Hopefully I can make weekend morning yogs and bagels a regular thang.

Yelp
I arrived right at Tali's bagel shop's Sunday opening time: 7am. A nice guy, Joe, was there to help me pick out my first taste of their Bagels. He recommended the Ube bagel with sesame bagel and the OG NY salmon bagel. That was the perfect combo of sweet and savory. I also saw dog treats and wanted to buy some, but Joe said they are free and take as many as I like. That is so generous. Joe then started to make my bagels. It is so awesome to have this nice neighborhood freshly baked bagel shop that I can go to after my run at the Ala Moana park. Joe was an expert in making me the most delicious bagels. He took his time to toast, make and wrapped the bagels after ordering. The slices of salmon in the bagel is fresh, delicious and high quality. Joe put a good amount of salmon in my bagel too. The Ube cream cheese was delicious, creamy, and has just the right amount of sweetness. It is the most enjoyable Sunday breakfast one can ask for. Hubby really liked these bagels as well. What a great start of the day. Also my puppy loved the treat from Tali's. I will come again to try other bagels! Please try this place before they demolish Ward center for 2 luxury high rises. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Cute bagel shop!! I ended up visiting multiple times! I love the choices for bagels and schmears. They had options for breakfast, tuna salad, and even pesto melt bagels. You order and pick up at the window. There's tables in front of the shop and outside tables. We went with Tali's Original Bagel Flight, which comes with choice of 3 mini bagels and 3 schmears. This was perfect to get a taste of all the variety they had to offer and the mini bagels were actually pretty decent size. My favorite for sweet would be sesame bagel with Ube schmear. My favorite savory would be everything with lemon dill schmear. On separate occasion we tried the pesto melt and the BEC, both on everything bagels. Both delicious, but I love the pesto melt!

Yelp
Tali's.... This is the spot.... If you had told me the BEST bagels I've ever had would come from Honolulu I'd think you were crazy!!! But that's just what you get when you go to Tali's!! There's not ONE person who should be giving this place less than 5 stars. I would take it PERSONALLY. And I'm 100% serious! The Honolulu "Tali's" is actually their second location, with the original being on East Shore. This Tali's is located off Ala Moana in Ward Village. Which is about a 5-10 minute drive outside Waikiki for us tourists. As mentioned earlier, Tali's is in a mall. And parking is free and abundant! Just be sure to park inside the garage. Parking spots are labeled 15 min, 30 min, and then regular. We parked in the 30 min spot but also went in the morning when the mall was pretty empty. Walking inside this section of Ward Village is a little dark. There's little to no lighting and they're doing a lot of construction (I think?). You'll find the Tali's "stand" inside. There are some tables inside but personally I prefer eating out front where it's lighter and brighter (also we're in HAWAII for F's sake!) Gotta enjoy the breeze and paradise-like weather! Tali's has SO many interesting menu items. They offer all the OG bagels like everything, garlic, white sesame, black sesame, onion, salt, etc. And their house-made schmears... omg are these fire. Classic, lemon dill, ube (super creative), lomi lox (what I got), smoked whitefish, and more. Then you get to the creativity with their Bagel Sandwiches!!! The Bubbe, the Zayde, Aww Zhuga Zhuga... look for yourself!!! They also have Israeli coffee, bialys, and bagel chips. My wife and I loved Tali's SO much we came multiple times on our most recent Oahu trip. Their bagels are baked perfectly. There's a "chewiness" to them that you don't typically find with lower quality ones. Tali is from New York and you can tell she brought the "New York style" of bagel-making to Oahu. They are priced extremely reasonably too!!! I make bagels myself time to time and know how much work goes into them. $3/ bagel is very reasonable in 2025 America. AND given it's Hawaii where you expect to pay more anyways... great deal!! And don't get me started on their schmears... they are mouth-wateringly good (lomi lox and the whitefish in particular hit DIFFERENT). I know I'm all over the place with this review, but another thing I absolutely love about Tali's is how unapologetically Ashkenazi Jewish they are. Too often I've found today's bagel shops have become "whitewashed." They show little to no homage or representation to Jewish immigrants who brought these recipes to America straight off Ellis Island one hundred years ago. Tali goes above and beyond to highlight our culture through her food. And you'll find this on their website, social media, or the names of the menu items themselves. In a nutshell, I can't recommend Tali's enough. I wish I had time to go to the East Shore location, but that will have to wait until our next time in Oahu. Tali's is for both locals and tourists; and is the perfect breakfast spot before a day of exploring/ beach-going. You could go every morning of your vacation and get a different bagel combo if you so chose. A+++++

Yelp
I got a dozen of the regular size bagels-- dealer's choice so it was a variety. I also got the everything, meshuga, and lemon dill schmears. Loved the variety of flavors. The meshuga had a small bite to it but definitely a unique combination of flavors that I enjoyed. Great customer service and treasonable prices. Also like the decently early opening hours.

Yelp
DELICIOUS. If you love bagel sandwiches, especially Lox- this is the place to go. I've been wanting to try and my coworkers decided to order delivery. I asked for extra capers and they did not disappoint.
google avatar

Cara C.

Yelp
I will preface this by saying I have ordered from Talis many times and I usually love their bagels. However today my order came and I didn't notice until a bite or two in that there was paper attached to the cheese on my sandwich. It was the full paper from the slice of cheese on both sides of the bagel sandwich. Sad because I come here all of the time but now I'm scared to have paper in my food.
google avatar

Trip S.

Yelp
These ladies are serving up breakfast with a smile and speed. I specifically ordered my bagels not toasted, that's my personal preference, I don't want my cream cheese melting and sliding away. If you're going to eat immediately, toasty bagels are nice, if you're gonna wait five minutes, I would go not toasted. Again, just my personal preference. ***Also, make sure to tip, they are providing you with a delicious meal and in short order. Give a few bucks for them bustin their butts.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for a solid bagel. Tali's has solid bagels. I think the next time I go to the Pearlridge Farmer's Market, I'll get myself solo bagels. This last Saturday, my husband and I got adventurous and each had a bagel with schmears - he got the Bubbe Egg Salad and I got the Lomi Lox. He didn't like the alfalfa sprouts on his egg salad because he couldn't taste the egg salad. I, on the other hand, enjoyed my schmear even though it was a bit messy to eat; I think the lomi part made the cream cheese a bit runny. I mean, I didn't mind scooping up the runaway filling with my finger. We got to sit under the tent in the middle of the market and enjoy our food and music. The guys running the tent were great. Answered my questions. I am so proud when the kids come out to help run a business.

Yelp
Okay, battle of the bagels. I've now tried a "New York style" plain bagel with sweet (chipotle honey) schmear from Fin's Bagels, and now I've had a "New York style" plain bagel with sweet (ube) schmear from Tali's. This is really tough. If you're asking me who objectively makes a better bagel and schmear? I'm going with Fin's. But if you're asking me who is actually repping hard for us Jewish folk and bringing credit to our culture? Then hands down it's Tali's. Tali's is unapologetically Jewish, and I love that. They even have their employees saying "We serve authentic Jewish New York bagels." I don't even think the employees over at Fin's know where bagels come from. But back to the bagels, Tali's comes in cheaper price wise than Fin's, but it's also a smaller bagel and way less schmear. Fin's actually loads it up like you'd expect from a New York bagel, but it comes at a higher cost. So when it comes to actually feeling like you're getting an authentic bagel, Fin's also has an edge, even if you're paying a bit more. But Tali's is by no means a bad product, and I'm glad they're out here.

Yelp
After seeing SOOO many positive reviews on Yelp, we had to try it out for ourselves. We were in Ward Village visiting the other establishments (Village bookstore, Picnic, Roger Dunn...) and so we decided to stop by Tali's Bagels to try it out. We had "The Fancy B" because ya know, ya girl is fancy ;) Service: Fast, efficient, friendly. We have gone several times already and every time we are greeted with a smile and friendly conversation. Sometimes there is only 1 person there so orders may take some time. Food: The Fancy B is deliciousness... the schmear itself speaks for itself. The bagel is your choice, but we chose the "everything" bagel and that was delicious as well. This one does have tobikko in case anyone does not like that or is allergic. On another occasion, we also tried The Zayde and we weren't particularly keen on this one especially since we loved the Fancy B so much. I would definitely recommend getting the Fancy B over the Zayde.

Yelp
Lunch in Kaka'ako, Honolulu, Hawaii... Tali's Bagels & Schmear used to be a food truck. I read great reviews by Irene, Lyla, Kira, Adrienne, and Brennan. I figured out that they now have a Brick and Mortar at Ward Centre, next to Fat Cheeks. I went once and the line was majorly long. I don't know if it's because it was a weekend or a popular time. I just knew that I had to return one day... Ward Centre has free covered parking! I walked through the air-conditioned hallway, past a few shops until I found Tali's Bagels & Schmear. Angie (the gal at the counter) was so helpful and patient. She made great suggestions! There are so many choices - she made my decision-making process flow smoothly with her friendly demeanor! Later, I received my order in a brown package... with Hello Kitty drawn on it!!! So cute!!! Thank you!!! I chose a flight which comes with three schmears. I got the Everything (vegan), Lemon Dill, and Lomi Lox. My favorite was Lomi Lox because it had the best flavor and texture. The mini Bagels, even though they were toasted, were on the chewy side. I wish they were a bit cruncher, but overall, they were good! I was full! Tali's Bagels & Schmear has a shared dining-in area, but it was too chilly for me. I found a table outside - between the parking structure and the escalator. There was natural lighting and a slight breeze with fresh air! Ahhh!

Yelp
Greatest bagels in town. Nice folks, great service and tasty bagel sandwich options. Try to get there as early as possible as good things typically don't last. Pro tip- order the day before to guarantee your bagel fix!
google avatar

Elyssa T.

Yelp
After hearing a lot about their bagels, we kept a mental note that we had to check them out. Very friendly service indeed and lots of choices for bagels as long as they didn't sell out for the day. We ordered 2 everything bagels with the classic schmear, 1 everything bagel with lemon dil schmear, and a Lilikoi Italian soda. Total came out to $27. The bagels weren't too small but also weren't too big either. We've had bagels before and the schmear on these ones did make it a messy meal. So be prepared with napkins. $27 for 3 bagels and drink is a lot. We've had bigger bagels at a much affordable price in New York. I guess we're still on the hunt for the best bagels on island.
google avatar

Yelp
Good lox og bagel. Sad that they will close in 9 months. Neighborhood gem. -----------
google avatar

Teri Y.

Yelp
Mother's Day is the perfect day for a great bagel when your Mom's favorite breakfast is a traditional lox & cream cheese. We had it on an everything bagel, which was perfectly chewy, cruncy etc... took me back to Brooklyn! Mom said the best on island! Hubs got the bacon and egg. He said it was delicious! We decided to putchase a dozen mini assorted. Cant wait to go back!

Aviva M.

Yelp
Love the NYC bagel such a good spot Service is good and there's a bunch of hood coffee places nearby to pair it with
google avatar

Kris G.

Yelp
More like a 3.5 but I still like the place. I've come here 2x so I'm ready to give a review. I've only ever come for The OG NYC because I like a good lox and bagel. Really stuffed and put together. The ratios and flavor is good, but both times were really salty for my taste. Not sure if toasting the bagel is an option but I feel like that would help in keeping it together. I usually come hour/half hour before closing the bagels have already been out for a while so they're soft and hard to bite - then the stuffing gets squeezed out. Overall though, I do think it's pretty good. I can't really comment on the price because I'm not sure what the average price of bagel sandwiches are but imo it is a bit expensive but I am getting smoked salmon so I understand. I do want to try just the bagel and schmears so I'm down to come back.
google avatar

Kanani C.

Yelp
Bagels are delish! Service is good. I like that when I bite into the sandwich, the filling doesn't squeeze out the other side. Only cons are: little salty, slightly small, and slightly pricey. Otherwise great! Today I got the $13 breakfast bagel. They ran out of Portuguese sausage so I had it with bacon. I'm not sure if it was the bacon or the everything bagel that made it bit too salty. Also got the $16 OG NYC bagel. They give a great amount of filling. Delish as always.
google avatar

Li Y.

Yelp
Ever since the retirement of "This Is It" and the exit of "Lox of Bagels" from the Kaka'ako area, the neighborhood has been severely missing bagel presence! Enter Tali's Bagels with a big cheer! Here its all about the bialys, bagels, and schmears. And they do schmear things right here! Because of the high carb count in bagels, I don't happen here often. When I do tho, I know I can look forward a wonderful treat, one forth or one eighth a sandwich at a time. Not into sweets. Opting for one of their savory selections. Favorite being the OG NYC bagel. Do love that smoked salmon! The breakfast BEC (bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich is a clear winner also). Tali's Bagels, welcome to the neighborhood.

Yelp
Great lox and bagel sandwich - best outside of nyc - toasted everything bagel and israeli iced coffee
google avatar

Miguel M.

Yelp
Loved their classic bagel and schmear! I wasn't sure which one I got at the time, I think it was the meshuga? I remember it being spicy and good, but I got to have it before heading to work and it was a lot bigger and more filling than I thought, so it was perfect! - Miguel Morales Photography

Yelp
Woke up hungover this morning absolutely needing a bagel. Unfortunately every time I go out to get a bagel it's always just meh and not what I dreamt of. But this place most bombastically made my dreams come true. These bagels were not only lifesaving but so delicious, crispy, chewy and seasoned. The Bacon egg and cheese was perfectly warm, bacon crispy, juicy, bacony. The egg wasn't skimped on and had the perfect amount of melted cheese on it. The plain o'l schmear of cream cheese on the everything bagel was also delicious and they used a very generous amount of cream cheese. The coffee was like a slushy and had its own unique roast and flavor profile. It didn't taste burnt and it was pretty sweet. I'm not a coffee drinker but I almost ordered one for myself but my husband kindly shared his with me. The service was fairly quick and it was a cute little shop inside a shopping center with very warm lighting and fresh air. This was peak bagel experience.
google avatar

Katharine Y.

Yelp
Omg, definitely a hole in the wall! So fresh bagel and ingredients. Amazing flavor. Fast service and friendly staff. We ordered lox with capers and breakfast bagel with sausage and eggs.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
We went right before they closed. It was kinda crowded but the line was fast. They only had everything bagels and one onion bagel. We love everything bagels so that was great. The OG NYC bagels were packed with cream cheese and salmon! Very delicious! The packaging was cute! Some things were selling out as we ate our bagels, so be wary. We went just in time :0 We were so glad that they still had OG NYC bagels left. I would probably eat the OG NYC bagels again if I ever go back, but the other bagels sounded interesting.
google avatar

Lois I.

Yelp
first time here....wonderful bagels. tried the egg bagel and the mini everything bagels soooo good. i also tried the ube smear.....so nice and sweet, perfect with the egg bagel. the service was soooo friendly and caring. Took the time to show me the ropes. ambiance was nice, quite on a Sunday. Will definitely go again.
google avatar

Sidney L.

Yelp
Tried the everything bagel with egg salad at Pearlridge farmer market this Saturday and unfortunately it was the worst bagel ever tasted. The egg salad was great but the bagel was so damn tough that my jaw gave up on chewing after the first half of a bagel. I honestly never had to chew so hard for a bagel. Even Sam's club got better bagels than this.
google avatar

Marilyn M.

Yelp
If you're in Ward, like I was shopping at Nordstrom Rack, you should head over to Tali's. They are across the street, in Ward Center. You will have to walk to the interior, and you'll find it near the chocolate shop and the golf shop. I've been once before and had the bagel flight, which was pretty good. Yesterday, my husband and I went to try the BEC and their frozen cold brew. The cold brew is amazing - sweet with a nice spice from the tahini. The BEC was pretty good, I should have grabbed the ketchup packets because without sauce it is a little dry. I had mine with the everything bagel which is so delicious and nicely salted. The service was fast and they were nice enough. I noticed the man working there was very friendly with regulars and both and he the woman were very good about expressing paining the products to customers. Overall, would recommend 100% for the cold brew and try the bagel flight.

Yelp
I've been watching Tali's bagels for months now on instagram and couldn't wait to try them. I had the everything bagel with lemon dill cream cheese and LET ME TELL YOU! So delish! So dilly with a slight lemon pizazz. The bagels were outstanding and fresh! Chewy and crispy, plump and well seasoned. We came around 10 and while they still said the morning crowd had cleaned them out pretty good, we found a great combo! While this walk up shop is a brick and mortar, I thought it was an actually shop- but fear not thats in Kailua! There are plenty of tables in the dining area and outside.

Sandra E.

Yelp
Excellent bagel and friendly service!! Had the everything bagel with veggie schmear. It was perfect! Lots of creamer cheese on top and that bagel that has the Everything seasoning on both the top and bottom of the bagel!! So you enjoy that stuff on both sides, not just the top. Love that attention to detail!!
google avatar

Leslie A.

Yelp
These are by far the best bagels on the island. They have such yummy bagel sandwiches. My personal favorite is the B.E.C. and my husband loves the OG NYC or the Fancy B. When I'm not super hungry, but craving a bagel, I get their classic bagel with classic schmear and it never disappoints! They always LOAD up the bagel with schmear. We've also had their Israeli coffee and it's really delicious too! Also worth mentioning is the customer service! I have never had a bad encounter while there. The workers are super helpful if you don't know what to order.

Yelp
Best Bagels on Oahu, without any close competition. I grew up in NJ where bagels are a religion, and had sort of given up on the idea of having a good bagel since I've lived in Honolulu. But I went to Tali's for the first time today and Holy S--t! The bagels are fresh, with a perfect bite and chew. The inside is light and full of real bagel flavor. The outside has that medium level of resistance that makes biting into a bagel so rewarding. The cream cheese schmears are delicious and spreadable. I also hit the OG lox sandwich that was so good, I think I cried a little. On top of al of that, the 2 people working there were so nice and helpful! Highly recommend!!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Bagels are great - cream cheese overpriced and service is horrible. As far as ambiance- it's seating in walkway so not my vibe. My suggestion is take bagels Togo they are great.
google avatar

Lily D.

Yelp
Tali's bagels started off at kakaako farmers market and now has a home at ward centers. There used to be a little cafe in this location, but it's right next to fat cheeks if you're familiar with the area :) I like ward centers cause they're dog friendly of course! There's some doggy treats where you pick up your food too (help yourself) I tried the plain bagel with ube schmear and also a drink from gazoz. I came here awhile back so I don't remember how much I paid for it but I'm assuming probably $20. I enjoyed everything I got so far but maybe I'll order a tub of just schmear instead next time :) There's also a few tables in front, it's pretty casual and great for people watching too.
google avatar

Yelp
Schmear- a dab, as of cream cheese, spread on a fill, bagel or the like. At Tali's, it's a whole glob, a big glob of cream cheese in various flavors. Ube scmear? Yup they have it. Of course I like the classic lox and bagel with cream cheese based schmear- so ono! Some people have complained there is too much cream cheese. There's a lot, but I'm guessing most people are fine with it. Too much schmear? Just scrape some off and use it later or on another bagel. A great place to check out when in the Ward area.

Yelp
Perfectly crisp outside w a chewy interior! It was a carb day and all I could think about was trying this place out after seeing a post on IG! This is the best bagel I have ever had. Chose the onion w cream cheese....brah, they pack it to dah max! It was a vacay day for me and the hubs so we went at 11:30, they only open til 2:00 so you need to go early as they sell out. Top from the crew, try the Israeli coffee...unique and delish!!!

Yelp
I've wanted to try Tali's since they opened at the ward village location. I was very excited when my husband brought me home a sesame bagel with ube schemer to try. I had such high expectations, but I have to admit I was a bit disappointed. The bagel was good but the ube schemer lacked the flavor I was expecting. I also wish I'd gotten schemer on the side since it was 3x the amount I typically put on my bagel (but I know this is a New York thing). I was not blown away by my order, but my husband's bagel topped with smoked salmon was great! We ended up trying it out again with some new orders: the mini bagel flight with schemers on the side (lemon dill was our favorite!) and a bacon egg & cheese sandwich to share. This order was a lot more my speed and quite enjoyable. Overall, fresh bagels, good sandwiches, and fun schemers to try, but kind of underwhelming and ask for schemer on the side if you want to manage your own bagel to schemer ratio.

Yelp
We tried to eat here last month, but they ran out of bagels by the time we got there, so we made sure to go earlier today. The staff of young women are friendly and helpful - even though they were super busy. The Israeli ice coffee is more like a slush consistency, but I love sweet coffee so it was perfect for me. I asked for a recommendation for the choice of bagel and decided on the egg bagel with everything. It was a best choice for the bacon, egg, & cheese bagel sandwich. I included a photo of the melting gooey cheese as we opened our sandwiches. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Tali's is Hawaii's top bagel shop with a great selection of flavors and ingredients! The Fancy B has a complex and unique combination of lox with tobiko, shichimi and refreshing cucumbers and mizuna greens for that satisfying crunch which makes this a crave worthy breakfast. There is typically a line but it moves fast. Pro tip is to take your bagels and visit Try Coffee upstairs for a great meal!

Yelp
Came back to give this place another try ..and also because there's no decent bagel places on island anymore. Pro tip: BRING YOUR OWN CREAM CHEESE. A bagel is $3. A bagel with cream cheese? $7. Premium "Schmear" is $9. Pretty sure that's highway robbery right there. $3 bagel alone is pretty rough, but an extra $4 for cream cheese? You gotta be kidding me. Leaving it at 2 stars because there's no other decent bagel places on island.

Yelp
Tali's hits a special spot for those craving real bagels in a place otherwise pretty hard up for real Jewish deli food. Service is great and the OG NYC was just the way a lox sandwich should be. Felt like the egg salad on the Bubbe was pretty underseasoned, but the bagels are top quality and there's a nice variety of shmears and sandwiches to choose from. Will definitely be back

Yelp
Service was excellent, bagels best in City. Very helpful and courteous staff. This is about my 4th time purchasing bagels and schmeer here . Highly recommended

Yelp
Bagels were reasonably good. Selection on a Friday morning was surprisingly light. Nothing about this place really stood out. Seems like a reliable place to get bagels once you figure out how to park in the Ward Center. Side note: gps mapping took me to the entrance to the center on Ala Moana road ... which is closed to cars entering. You have to come into the center from Queens road. FYI.

Yelp
Are you in the mood for a GREAT bagel? HIGHLY recommend Tali's. They only have 4 flavors of bagels to choose from, but the assortment of "shmears" makes up for it. I got the Fancy B on the black and white sesame bagel, and it was delicious! Too much cream cheese, but the flavor was great and the bagel was perfectly crunchy and chewy. My boyfriend got the OG NYC on an everything bagel and loved it as well. We both took some of the cream cheese off because it made everything slide out of the sandwich but we both really enjoyed it. It's a very small little shop in the "shopping mall" so it's both crazy and a little hard to find. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

Yelp
New bagel shop in Ward right next to Fat Cheek. I don't know what NY style bagel is but went to try. It was busy when we went on a Saturday in the afternoon. There are few tables inside and outside. My friend and I wanted to try a little bit of everything. so we got a bagel flight and the OG NYC (salmon). The Bagel flight was our choice of bagels and schmears. We made sure to try all the flavored bagels. The schmear we got were haupia, israelian, and ube schmear. The schmears were pretty good. We also ordered the mango pineapple and dragon fruit mojito. The total for our meal was $45. I guess I'm not used to the soft and chewy bagel. I would prefer toasted bagels. I thought it was expensive for this bagel meal.

Yelp
Ordered OG NYC on everything bagel. This was delicious, though the outside of the bagel was a bit harder than I expected. The price is $17 plus (including tax). The store is dog friendly and has dog treats at the end of the counter (help yourself). I would love to go back and try other menus.

Yelp
Hands down the best bagels on the island ever!! I went to college on the East Coast and the only time I've had a bagel this good was in New York City. Their Bagels have the perfect " chew " to them while being crispy on the outside. Every single bagel is good and they freeze very well cause when you heat them up, they taste just like they were bought that day. Staff is also very friendly and very sweet!

Yelp
Found this place by accident was looking for Alii Coffee...wasn't sure what was good on the menu since i just happen to find this place. Line was long so I figure must be good if line is long (didn't realize they had recently opened). There is only a order counter and a few tables scattered to eat on, nothing else, so you don't even get a feel like you at a cafe. When I finally got to the counter, I ordered the 3 mini bagels (Talis original bagel flight) with 3 smears (ube, regular, dill) and 6 bagels to take home. The wait was a good 15 min. with so many other orders in front of me. Once I got my order, tried the bagel in my car, could not wait to see what the hype was about...Loved the smears but the texture of the bagels is not what I expected, not sure if I should have ordered a regular size bagel? I'm not sure what I expected but this bagel did not hit me. I ordered a few regular ones and a bialys to take home and try, well it was the same, I paid $3 and the size was really small for what I'm used to or have had in NYC. And they had minimal flavors to choose from (plain, poppy, onion). Was worth to try and might go back to give them a second chance and try maybe a premade bagel sandwich, see alot of amazing reviews on the sandwiches.
