I hosted a private party here and it was 10/10. I first heard about the place when I was a guest at another private party which went super well! They put 'reserved' signs with my name at our bar area which was a helpful touch and made it easy for all my guests to find their way. The DJ was awesome and so sweet to take requests, and the bartender was lovely, efficient, and super attentive. I really appreciated how she named a signature cocktail on the spot to match the party theme. The food was absolutely delicious, and I’m so glad we could order late into the night. The aesthetics were beautiful too - great party lighting, art, cleanliness. Thank you for storing my cake and handling the clean-up as well. It was an all-around awesome experience, and all of my guests had a great time!

Love love love! This place has great drinks and great staff! Unfortunately the kitchen had closed when I went to visit but the bartender suggested other great places in the area for food. I tried the mojitos while my partner went for the jalapeño margarita. Both were great! Music was nice and the bartender was attentive .

Had a private party with the back room reserved for free. The DJ was friendly and took requests, the service was a little slow at times because they only had one bartender but the drinks are fairly priced and they even let the birthday girl set up a few decorations and have a cake. So many places in the city charge you a ton, don’t allow private parties on weekends, or serve cake so this place was excellent and in an excellent location.

I had my 26th here and it was so fun! I worked with Joe to plan it and the process was easy and seamless. I was able to bring a cake, cupcakes, and light decorations. I didn’t have to pay to rent the space or pay a minimum for the bar either. The bar space was perfect for my 35 guests. The bartenders were great and the drinks were delicious. All my guests loved the DJ and thought the music was curated perfectly for me and the event! I loved the look of everything and had an amazing time!! Thanks Tampico.

I cannot say enough good things about Tampico Tequila Bar in the Lower East Side! We celebrated my wife’s golden birthday here, and the experience was nothing short of incredible. Joe and Mark were phenomenal hosts—they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our event. They even let us go all out with decorating our section, which added a personal touch to the celebration. The venue was the perfect size for our group, creating an intimate yet lively atmosphere. The staff were super friendly, always ready to assist with our questions and requests, and made sure we had everything we needed. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality made our night unforgettable. Tampico hosted a private party of around 25, for my wife’s 30th birthday. Joe and the bar staff were exceptional and the event went great. The food was superb and everyone loved the drinks (blood orange margarita especially). The space was extremely affordable compared to others we looked into and we couldn’t have been happier with our decision to pick Tampico NYC.

Came here to do a tutorial. My first time here and it was pretty nice. The nachos and dip were amazing. The drinks recommended tasted pretty good.

Tampico has hosted several parties for me varying in size from 5-50 people. They are incredibly accommodating and helpful when choosing party menus and will tailor food platters to meet your party’s needs. The food is delicious and everyone especially loves the mini tacos at our events. The open bar options are perfect for larger parties, and the service is impeccable- no one is ever standing around waiting to be served! I recommend adding the margaritas to the open bar package because everyone loves them. The east bar is my personal favorite because your party has a private space with its own bar with no additional fee. On Saturdays the DJ is fantastic and really knows how to play the crowd. Make sure to check out the Frida bathroom on the main floor, and the tequila cage in the back! It’s a beautiful space and the perfect place to host a private party or a small group for food and margaritas!

Hosted a private party here and it was such a blast!!! 1. Organizing - worked with Joe who was super helpful the entire time. I had a million questions and he always answered them all and hopped on the phone a few times as well! 2. Food/drinks - I wanted to have some food and drinks ready for people when they arrived. The party platters were fun and convenient. The food was quite good too! Got the quesadillas, tacos, and chips. They were all a hit! They were also kind enough to offer drink pitchers which were a fun welcome drink! As the party kept going, it was east to order more food and drinks at the bar. 3. Attention to detail - they let us come and get set up a little early which was really helpful. During the party, they also made super water was constantly filled and cups were restocked! They even helped tape our balloons back up when they fell which was very sweet! The staff were great!!! I absolutely loved hosting my party here and would definitely do it again!! They keep the vibes fun yet classy and anyone is bound to have a good time!!!

The design, art and ambiance were right on time. Great music selection, and lovely staff. I'll definitely be back!

lovely margs ! we got the blood orange and mint, and they were really good ! came here on a thursday night and it was a bit slow when we got here (~9) but it picked up quickly. the garden in the back is really nice and the frida kahlo bathroom was a fun surprise. all in all, great service and drinks

If you're looking for a fun spot for drinks, dinner, or to throw a private event then look no further than Tampico. My fiancé and I threw our engagement celebration here back in October and everything went flawlessly. This was my first time throwing an event like this and Aura took great care to make sure everything was in place for the night of my event. She answered all of my questions quickly, and believe me, I had a lot! Aura recommended the east side of the bar for my group of 50 which was perfect because we had a ton of privacy and no other patrons had a reason to walk through our reserved area. We did a three hour open bar and small bites and everything was absolutely delicious. Tampico really knows how to make a great drink and delicious margaritas! The tacos (chicken and cactus), chicken fingers, chips (w/ salsa and guacamole) were all yummy and the food came out fresh and on time. Joe, the manager, checked in with me multiple times throughout the night to make sure we had everything we needed which was so great. Shannon behind the bar served every drink with a smile and they all tasted delicious. The kitchen staff and front of house staff were all courteous and kept an eye to make sure our space was cared for. All throughout the night, our guests were coming up to my fiancé and I saying how they haven't been to such a fun party like this in a long time. Even after our open bar was up, no one wanted to leave because we were all having such a blast dancing and singing along to the tunes in our private space. I highly recommend everyone checks this place out whether it be for drinks, food, or to a throw party that will leave a lasting impression with your guests. Service is GREAT! If you visit please do yourself a favor and order the Coconut Margarita... I will definitely come back!

My friends had their engagement party here and it was so fun. This location has the option to do seating dining, bar dining and blocking off space for a party. The food and service was great. I want to come back for a proper seated meal.

There should be disclaimer saying this place is a bar and not a restaurant. As such, the Mexican food here is glorified bar food. Nachos are average.

Held a private party to celebrate my 24th Birthday party, and working with Joe, Aura, and Joe was an absolute dream! Planning was seamless and they optimized the space to perfectly fit my party size, theme, and requests. As someone that gets stressed out when party planning, the Tampico team made this the easiest experience possible. Numerous guests mentioned to me after that the bartenders' speed, service, and banter was the best they have ever experienced, which as a host made me so happy! Also a huge shoutout to the DJ of the night because he played reggaeton and dance music perfectly to the crowd. We danced all night from 11-3:30am... The main bar space is perfect for a fun dance party while other guests were having more lowkey conversations and drinks towards the back in the tequila tasting room. Overall, it was the perfect party for all guests and I look forward to working with Tampico again in the future!

My fave tequila bar in all NYC. So happy to see the yelp account. Delancey street/LES has gained a gem. Drinks are made fresh and the nachos are amazing. The staff is even better!!

This place was fantastic. One of the best Tequila Bars I've ever been to. The atmosphere was laid back. The food was delicious. The owner (Joe) and his staff were very attentive to my special group. When I visit NYC again this will definitely be one of my first stops. If you love this type of spot please go you wont regret it! Tell them Stacey sent you!

This is such a beautiful and welcome addition to the neighborhood! The cocktails are fresh and delicious, and the food is perfectly matched to a day of tequila drinking. Really loving the jalapeño margarita and the Tampico Spritz as well as the nachos and the variety of tacos you can mix and match. There is a beautiful, bright backyard, and so many hidden details throughout the space. Make sure to check out the amazing tequila/ mezcal cage in the back!
