"Sometimes, you want to grab a beer and be on a date at the same time. That’s what Tankard & Tun is there for, and yes, we’re as surprised as you are that romance can even exist inside the chaos of Pike Place. It’s a small space with a big marble bar and stemmed glasses of beer from Pike Brewing Co. The food ranges from frisee salads to rockfish chowder and very delicious fish and chips. photo credit: Erin Lodi" - Aimee Rizzo

"The Pike Brewing Company may be best known for its beers, but the comfort food at its original pub downstairs and this upscale sibling restaurant upstairs are a worthy match for stouts, IPAs, and more. At Tankard and Tun, chef Gabe Spiel focuses on seafood, turning out classics like fish and chips, but "Le Chowder" is the true winter winner, presenting like a soup but eating like a meal. Diners will crave this rockfish-mussel-veggie combo every gray Seattle day." - Jenise Silva

Very good seafood, the waiter was super chill when we added 4 more to a party of 7. Luckily we got there during happy hour, I ordered the cheese curds, butter bread and 5 oysters. I was not disappointed, bread was so fresh and the butter was on point. Chews curds were excellent and the oysters were amazing. The fish and chips were had by most of the members of our party and after I tried them I wish I had ordered them, and I'm not usually a fish and chips kind of guy. Don't forget to check out the bathroom art while you're there.

Google
I was told that the fish and chips here were up and coming around the public market center and I wasn't disappointed. I don't always trust myself with rating food when I'm starving since I was walking around the market alot but either way at the end of the meal I was satisfied. Apparently they add some alcohol to the batter mix in the fish and chips which takes away any acidity. I honestly just thought the quality of the fish was fresh, and the batter was well made. I got the salmon and chips and it had a lot of flavour, although if it's your first time going, for sure get the fish and chips just to try it. A great appetizer to start would be the deep fried cheese curds for the whole table. Also ask for the malt vinegar for the fries. This place is definitely worth a try.

Google
The food was good but the deal was great. We split an order of Happy Hour fish-n-chips, it was plenty. The photo shows one order split on two plates, so all the food you see here was only $10! Service was exceptional today.

Chris G

Google
Good place for lunch away from the crowds of the Pike's market. Service was great and the wait staff helped out at all tables. Food was also made fresh and you can tell this place is a quality restaurant. Highly recommend this location for lunch or dinner.

Damon Tighe

Google
Standard pub fare for a port city; fish and chips and decent offerings of grilled fish with access to all of the beers from Pike Pub. Service was solid, portions were good and atmosphere was nice.

Mary P

Google
Came here for an early dinner and we got seated pretty fast. And service was pretty fast too. I’d say we only waited like 10-15 minutes for our food. The only reason I’m not giving this a 5star are the fries. I love fries but they somehow managed to ruin it. See picture. The rest of the food is amazing tho. The shareable mussel has to be my favorite! We couldn’t stop eating it. Lol.

Paul Younis

Google
This place is a bit of a tourist trap, the food is delicious but a little overpriced. The focus is seafood though there are not that many seafood options. It's a decent fancy pub, but if you are looking for a seafood dinner head elsewhere. That being said the food was good, service was friendly and attentive.

Preston Parks

Google
Great restaurant down on 1st by Pike Place Market. Service was really friendly. Food came out perfect and everyone enjoyed it. I definitely recommend getting the Pavlova dessert, so good! If you're looking for a bite to eat down by the market this is definitely a good stop! Great drink selection as well!

Caroline J.

Yelp
Stopped into try their beer and grab a bite to eat. Beers were good and service was also very good! I believe our waitress's name was Trish, and she was excellent. Got us everything we needed and checked in on us often. Nachos were very good! Wish they offered salsa on the side for some extra sauciness! The chicken was very tasty and it's a good size. Plenty of seating with a mix between booths, tables and high tops as well as around the bar. Tons of beer decor throughout as well! There are a lot of steps around the place but also ramps and just make sure to request an area that is accessible by a ramp if needed!

Scott P.

Yelp
I'm not a huge beer fan. Really, the only time I ever drink beer is when I come here. The "Kilt Lifter" Scotch ale is my favorite! Not an IPA fan, but if you are there are plenty of those to choose from. Finally had dinner here with some friends. Got the nachos (yes, that's dinner for me), and they were very good. You'd think people can't mess up nachos, but I've been to a few places that have. The bartenders here are always friendly and helpful. You can get little tasters of the beer, so you know you're getting something you like and you're not stuck drinking a pint of beer you don't like. The atmosphere is just cool. Lots of cool things to see on the walls. There's a poster just outside of the men's restroom with a lot going on in it. Being in the heart of Seattle and right there at Pike Market, this is definitely a must visit.

Lindsey O.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and it's always a lovely experience. This most recent time, my boyfriend & I each got a cup of the delicious Dungeness crab chowder as well as the tater tots, which you can order a number of good sauces with, like a spicy aioli. I love the ambiance here; it's kitschy and weird with lots of random pieces for decor. They have great merch, too. I feel like this spot just screams Seattle. They have an excellent selection of beer, which we experienced as a flight, & I got a WONDERFUL kiwi sour I wish I could get elsewhere because I don't live in Seattle! The bartender was super friendly, too, although the hosts were not really.

Diane Z.

Yelp
This place is very nostalgic, lived all the history on the walls, nice big brewery right in the middle of downtown! The beer flight was nice to have so we knew what we wanted to buy for later, the pizza was pretty good! And the guacamole was fresh. I'd like to go back on a weekend! I'm sure it's a hot place to be! You have to order via scanning, but they brought the food and drinks out fairly quickly, not much interactions with staff.

Jasmine F.

Yelp
Very cool spot to stop at lots of cool things to look around on the walls it is a two stories restaurant/bar take the stairs or there is an elevator. Me and my friend went straight to the bar. Bartender was really nice. Gave us recommendations to try. I had a German lager very light and crisp. My friend had a cherry sour I think but it was very delicious. Nice spot to have dinner with the family or just go to the bar with friends and hang out.

Odundo S.

Yelp
Awful food. This place is a tourist trap. Pulled pork sandwiches should be made with more than a drizzle of barbecue sauce on top. Their burgers are overloaded with the cheap ingredients. Way too much mayo/aioli makes it impossible to even taste the burger. Not to mention the beer is nothing special. The urinals also need splash guards. Two stars because the staff were kind and the fries were good.

Jim T.

Yelp
Met with friends and family here for some beer and appetizers. Place is crowded so be prepared to wait in line to get in. The address is kind of confusing. High priced but enjoyable.

Katherine P.

Yelp
This place is the real thing. Kumamoto Oysters were absolutely dee-lish and the Fish n Chips the best I've had since I went to England. Super crispy and very close to Seattle Art Museum where I saw the Calder exhibit.

Veronica F.

Yelp
The day I came here it was super hot outside and it felt like the inside of this place didn't have AC running, to me it felt musty and warm. The service was good. We had a flight and cocktails. We also ordered fish and chips and the fish didn't have no flavor but I get why it was cheap. Overall, it was a pretty cool place to stop and have some drinks.

Mel C.

Yelp
I can only review based on drinks we had, but we decided to visit Pike after the Gum Wall. It was a last-minute decision to stop in. The inside has a very cool and relaxed vibe with several areas available for seating. Ordering is fast and easy to do. We made it in and put with six of us in under 30 minutes. We just missed the women's history month Bbrewing event by a day but tried the beer brewed by the women of Pike. I bought some cute merchandise too. The pilsner here was light and crisp, and I like the smooth, easy taste. It's a short walk from here to the pier and aquarium, too.

Chloe F.

Yelp
Fun stop after the market and gum wall. Only stopped in for a drink and would have had a snack, but the menu was limited for veg options. Fun decor and a huge space!

Akira O.

Yelp
シアトルのPike Place周辺にあるプリュワリー。店内に入ると樽があり、どうやらこちらでつくっているらしい。ピルスナー、IPA等いろいろあります。フードも充実していて使い勝手は良い。

Jaime B.

Yelp
Love Pike's! Super fun atmosphere with the most interesting decor! Great selection of beers on draft and they had a great cocktail menu as well. We didn't eat there, but the food menu sounded very good!

Haley P.

Yelp
We stopped in for a couple beers and a snack. You order to your table via QR code, our apps came out way before our beers did. Lots of beers to choose from! We had the pretzel with beer cheese and the salt and vinegar fries, both were good but nothing to write home about. I liked the decor on the walls that showed the history of beer.

Chris C.

Yelp
Beer is decent, food is mediocre at best and the service was ok. If you're into the whole "keep Portland / Seattle weird" crowd, then you will most likely appreciate this place. Will I be back, probably not but it was an experience. PS, stay away from the pretzels!!

Brian C.

Yelp
This is strictly a food based review. I came in for lunch with a colleague and we decided not to drink on the clock, so I need to come back and give their beers a try. Ordered the bacon burger which came with fries. I was asked how I wanted it prepared and requested medium. The burger came out well done with the medium toothpick in the center. That's always a pet peeve of mine with burgers, especially when the patty is on the thinner side, so chances aren't amazing it's going to be cooked right anyway. Fries were fine but nothing special. My colleague said his fish sandwich was good but was hoping the piece of fish would be a bit thicker. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and while the service was a bit slow but friendly, downtown is busy with the ASG, so I'm happy to be a bit more easy going. Will probably be back again to check out the beers and maybe have better luck with the pizza.

Lisa S.

Yelp
The restaurant is neat, enjoyed the beer decor. The service was good except for all of us being sat in one corner. I didn't need to be that close to the people behind us when there are plenty of empty tables. The food was basic. We got a chicken burger, all American burger and a salmon burger, one beer and one drink plus tip over $100.00.

Linda F.

Yelp
What a great lunch stop. The place is huge with lots of fun things to look at on the walls and booths. The two beers we tried, the Uptown Hazy and the Westcoast IPA were both excellent. The SLT sandwich and the Dungeness crab cake were both very good. The salt and vinegar fries were addictive. Our server was friendly and efficient. All in all a great lunch experience by the water

Katie N.

Yelp
Very ipa heavy. If you are not a fan of ipas then this may not be the spot for you. (Unless you are wanting a cocktail or their food) A little pricey for 1 beer due to the location of heavy touristy area. Service was friendly but poor guy had the bar and the tables so he was a little slammed.

Jessica J.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! I usually will bring my friends who are visiting from out of area here after a day of shopping pike. The beer is always amazing, the food hits the spot every time, and the service is always wonderful! The vibe and ambiance is perfect for downtown Seattle!

Rob M.

Yelp
Kilt lifter is a solid beer, but the XXXXX Stout isn't a stout at all. It is WAY too hoppy and profiles more like a dark ale than a stout. What makes this place worth the visit is the vast collection of beer-related history all over the walls of the brewery/bathroom/taproom. A person could easily spend a couple of hours checking out this vast collection, it is well worth it for the beer aficionado. The beer itself....no so much so!

Ryan J.

Yelp
Very IPA heavy. Came here with my g/f but didn't buy any beers. She had an IPA, I had a sip but not a fan. I can't fault the brewery for me not liking IPAs. She liked hers, the bartender was friendly, and the place was clean. Seemed to be a popular place. The infamous gum wall is right around the corner.

Mark N.

Yelp
Good beer (but too many IPAs), ok food and decent service. But nothing memorable to go out of the way for.

Shaun S.

Yelp
I had high hopes for Pike's Brewing, being a Seattle staple, but sadly, the food left much to be desired. The loaded tater tots were a disappointment, drowned in a canned cheese sauce that lacked flavor. I usually love me a good tater tot, but these were just blah... Even a basic salad proved challenging here, with a lackluster taste that was far from enjoyable. The burger, a seemingly simple dish, also fell short and lacked the satisfying flavors one would expect. It is hard to describe, it was falling apart and ugly. The saving grace was undoubtedly the beer selection, which offered a decent variety. However, that alone couldn't redeem the overall dining experience. Service was merely okay, and it was disheartening that our waiter seemed disinterested in our dining satisfaction. He didn't inquire about our meal or take any steps to address our concerns. In the end, Pike's Brewing may have its history, but the food quality and lackluster service left it feeling like a waste of time and money. Two stars, primarily thanks to the beer selection, but little else to praise.

Sean P.

Yelp
Great beer and food! Cool little place with all of Pikes beers on tap. Great sausages and pretzels as well. Came here for lunch while on a business trip would highly recommend for a team building meeting place or just relax and catch the game.

Janelle F.

Yelp
After an oddly hot and very sunny day we were dying for some cooler air and a few cold ones. It was later in the day and many places were already closing Pike Brewing welcomed us in. We opted to sit at a table instead of the bar and told to scan the QR code at our table to order or head to the bar to order with the bartender . It was a bit annoying that we couldn't just scan without having to download an entire app and answer things to do so, but once we did it worked out easy. We weren't starving so we decided on hot wings and some drinks. I was pleased to see water cups with ice water near by so we could cool down a bit while waiting for our items. Once everything arrived we watched some sports on one of the many tvs, chatted amongst ourselves and enjoyed the very good, well seasoned wings. Location was large and just the vibe we were looking for.

Caroline P.

Yelp
I had a truly bizarre experience at Pike Brewing. Our server was insanely rude to our group in the name of "humor". My colleagues and I (group of 7) stopped in for an after work happy hour because we work a block away. Our visit started off by us asking if we could get the happy hour menu and our server telling us that because we chose to sit where "he does all the work" instead of the bar, we can't do happy hour. Ok, that's fine. Then, two of my colleagues attempted to order non-alcoholic beverages and our server went on a tirade about how they're a brewery, "do you think their brewers are going around thinking about how to accommodate all these non-alcohol people", "obviously we don't have kombucha", etc. There are many breweries in Seattle that do have non-alcoholic beverages and even kombucha (believe it or not!). This felt particularly distasteful because you never know why someone doesn't drink. Like people who are sober or pregnant still want to enjoy an outing with friends!! It kept getting weirder. Our server berated us for ordering out of order and said we were making it difficult by not "doing it his way". He did not make it clear that he had a specific system he wanted us to follow, which would have been easy but whatever. So he had us start over with our ordering. Later on, our server called us out specifically by saying "your group just doesn't get my humor, it's going over your heads". This was after he made fun of someone in our group for getting a player's name wrong when talking about football (???). He also told us not to fill out the survey at the end after paying because no one reads them. Cool cool. It was funny for the first "joke" or two, but quickly turned our visit sour. None of us ordered food in order to avoid inconveniencing our rude server. We got one round of drinks and left. Definitely will not be back which is a shame because we frequently go out as a group and it really is a cool location. Pros: the entire venue is wheelchair accessible, which is great! There are ramps to every level of seating and an elevator. That's rare for downtown. Beer was good.

Gabe B.

Yelp
Welcome back it's good to see and taste you again. Been a few yrs since I visited Seattle , so as always made a stop here for a couple of pints of the Kilt Lifter and this time, tried the artichoke crab dip. Both are delicious. This place never disappoints. Sat, in a different spot this time, and I got to check out "Beer history" on the walls.

Tricia M.

Yelp
Okay, so first we waited at the stand for 15 minutes in an empty restaurant as several employees walked by and looked at us. Finally one acknowledged us and said someone would be there. The guy who came up was pretty rude and seemed annoyed we were there. He told us we couldn't sit near the windows if we were not ordering food, which was strange. He took us out to a back room and said pick up a table and walked away. The beers are okay. We actually only liked 2, that being said neither of really care for IPAs and 2 of them were IPAs. Overall, I don't think it's some place I will return with so many other brewery options.

Ronesha J.

Yelp
Visited during a weekend stay in Seattle. Perfect location and the staff was amazing. Our waiter was kind, attentive and very helpful. The food was good and the experience seemed to be consistent. I really enjoyed the whiskey flight! It was so fun to try a few local ones. Very close to the Gum Wall and within the Pike Place area. Overall we had a great experience and would visit again if given the opportunity:)

Prag R.

Yelp
A true gem in the heart of Pike Market, more like the basement of the Market. That's where this is, super hard to miss of you are among the touristy lot, haha! Hands-down the best drinks I'd say-we got the flight and I went fancy and asked them to make a berry cocktail for me as I was in the mood! The cocktail was soo good, I went for a other one infact! We got the Pretzel and hung our with friends as it was hot and nice weather today! Seattle summers are here :)

Kyle E.

Yelp
Had to wait about ten minutes. Food and service was fairly quick and friendly. The clam chowder was amazing, though a little runny for my taste.the cod fish and chips were amazing. I do dish they would have given a larger portion size for the coleslaw. I had the Monks Uncle Triple Ale, which I really enjoyed. It's less than an IPA. I would definitely try the place, if you haven't been here before.

Martin G.

Yelp
Was handed a paper menu but had to order by scanning a QR code. Couldn't find the Stout beer that was on the paper menu and had to hail down an employee to ask why I could not find it. Ordering was a hassle and no help from the staff. Ordered fish and chips. Was just OK. Never did get that stout. Never had anyone check on us, no service what's so ever. Big disappointment.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
I rolled into town and sat at the bar for lunch and a few beers. I had the bacon Mac and cheese which was hardy and delicious. Portion sizes were good and a left feeling full despite being really hungry. There was a good selection of beers and the staff were helpful in choosing what to drink. Conversation at the bar was good too with plenty of TV's to watch sports on.

Sam B.

Yelp
It wasnt that great tasty but really expensive. The fish was crispy but wasnt seasoned much. Actually it was very bland. Fries were soggy and sad. Went straight in the bin. The place itself is worth visiting. A lot of cool stuff, didnt drink beer so that might have been the saving grace but whatever.

Marcie T.

Yelp
Friendly service, great food, and the owner is a great guy who supports the community and works hard to make this place great.

Richter O.

Yelp
Beer and food was alright. Service was okay, Except............. For the server who wore a sticker on her forehead, and when asked about it by someone in our group, aggressively explained it was a "social experiment" to see who "saw her as a human" or else saw her as some sort of server robot. Wow dude. So deep. Our group would have (and did) treat her with the same respect and humanity anyone would to any person, but for some reason this server had to take it upon herself to create groups of those who "saw her" and those who didn't, likely assigning some sort of value or merit to those special people who noticed this special person! Oooohhh! Get over yourself, girlie. Crab cake was okay.

Paul R.

Yelp
This is our usual stop to a: get out of the rain and b: chill out and have a brew or two. Pike's has an endless collection of all things related to beer and you can easily spend an hour checking out all the classic beer posters and Ads. There is a brew for all from their dry hopped and west coast IPAs to a wonderful Pils. If you are hangry there's some good Apps and full meals. Try their fish and chips. So after you have hit all the tourist spots stroll n down to Pikes and relax with a craft brew or two!

Ashley S.

Yelp
We didn't eat any food just came for a few drinks. I thought the location was nice. The ambiance was unique to say the least. But there drink options just didn't WOW me at all.

Shannah H.

Yelp
Stumbled in on an exceptionally hot day in Seattle, tired and thirsty from doing all the things tourists do. Our goal was to find beer to cool off. Instead, we found a very cool space with exceptional beer to enjoy. They had a variety of styles, from light and hoppy to dark and chewy. We both agreed that all were done well - a hard task as it requires different brewing skills. The husband loved the dark styles. I loved the hops (tangy but without too much bite). This is a perfect stop in the Pike Place Market area to rest and recover!

Karla M.

Yelp
First stop for light lunch after arriving in Seattle and located close to hotel. Ordered the Broken Bow Beef burger with fries to split. One of the places where we order and pay by phone so no employees to check on us. Was pricey but delicious!

Crystal O.

Yelp
Excellent service! The boys headed over while I was still shopping at Pike Market- they were happy to try a flight of beer. They also have a good food menu, but we had already eaten. I was especially thrilled that the hostess saw me with my fresh bouquet of flowers and offered a pitcher to put them in while we were there- very sweet! This was our first night in Seattle and after rolling through the market, we were happy to sit and take a beat. Both John and Robert enjoyed their flights!

Scout P.

Yelp
The crab cakes and crab artichoke dip were amazing. Beer was great. Service was a little slow since there wasn't many other people there, but they were nice. Glad we went!

JazIv I.

Yelp
Went there as a weekend trip to Seattle. It's a very very decorative and large location, so we had no trouble getting a table and getting good pictures! It's located in the market place, so it the prices do reflect it. They have beer flights and typical bar foods (burgers, salads, chowder). Service is all around.

saray R.

Yelp
Fries are fried to perfection. Customer service amazing. I had a crispy chicken sandwich, it was the best I've ever had.

Dani S.

Yelp
I travel a bit, and when I find myself at a restaurant far from home, I like to order mac n cheese. It's just one of those dishes that feels familiar and cozy which is nice when I'm adventuring outside of Boise. Pike Brewing Company's kilted mac n cheese was just how mac n cheese is supposed to be. I ordered it with BBQ chicken and was not disappointed. It was comfort food at its finest and I would absolutely order it again. Service was excellent and ambiance was pretty standard brewery/pub. It was busy although we were tucked away in a quieter area which was nice. No complaints, and I shall return.

Leo S.

Yelp
Great spot on the pike for great views and tasty brews! We came here the first week of November on our first trip to Seattle! The service was great, the location was amazing, and the beers were top notch!

Tony B.

Yelp
Was not packed at Monday lunchtime. They brew their own beer on site and it is great. My sister and I went there as an alternative to Stove Pipe (see my review) since Stovepipe only serving salad and pizza due to an electrical malfunction. So since covid, you order at the bar and your food is delivered to your seat. Gone is full table service. So, my sister and I decided to sit at the bar. She ordered the fish and chips and was not impressed. I ordered a pretzel and the pike wings, which were savory/sweet. I thought they were fine, and the pretzel itself was good, but the cheese sauce was too thin and milky. They also serve it with honey mustard, but, being from NY, I prefer just ordinary yellow mustard or Dijon. Beer was great, the decor is quite eclectic and interesting. All told, i would have preferred Stove Pipe, but the bartender was friendly and it not an unpleasant experience. The food was a little disappointing and for that reason, Iam awarding 4 stars. BTW, if you enjoyed my review or found it informative cool or funny, please don't hesitate to click the little button to say so, or better yet, hit the "Follow Tony B." button and never miss a single one of my epic reviews in the Seattle area and beyond. Excelsior!

Yelp
I had a great burger and the fries were even better, but let's not forget the beer was great with my meal. The atmosphere and the vibe of the place were welcoming. The service was great, felt safe and the staff cared for the customer.
