The Philly Restaurants That Give Back to the Community | Eater Philly

Taproom on 19th - Review - East Passyunk - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Before we tell you anything else about Taproom on 19th, we should tell you that they have a $2 burger during Happy Hour, which makes about as much sense as dudes who wear shorts in 20-degree weather just to prove their masculinity. But in the case of the burger, we’re happy about it. Despite being pretty nondescript and looking like every other sports bar in the city, Taproom on 19th has burgers and wings that are far superior to anywhere else around, and you can get them for super cheap on weeknights before 7pm. So you should get in by 6:55pm, order your $2 burger, and wait for whatever game is probably coming on at 7pm." - Sydney McElwee

Google
This is my favorite watering hole in my visit to Philadelphia. I have been there four times. The burgers are amazing. There is a solid selection of beers and mixed drinks. The staff and patrons are very friendly.

Google
To quote my child (7yr), "this was the best Mac and cheese I've ever had" Manager was super cool to our family. And great selection of beer.

Google
I believe I had the falafel wrap, it was late and they only had one or two options available. It was a simple but unusual combination of flavors with sweet potatoes, but was actually a surprisingly nice dish. Plenty filling with the fries and the price was relatively reasonable. Atmosphere wise it was interesting, but a crazy loud tiny little pub on the corner. If you want a quiet spot, this wasn't it. :) Parking was kind of a nightmare, after circling for 10 minutes I did manage to find a tight spot on a side street to squeeze into, but people are literally parked in the middle of the road and wall to wall. Definitely worth checking out if you are nearby.

Was in the neighborhood visiting and wondered into this place. Great food, nice beer list but should have been colder. Service was great, prices were fair, but could use a good cleaning.

Google
We found this gem of a place by accident. Walking near our Airbnb while on a trip down from Canada to see our Flyers play. This is a local bar/restaurant but we were welcomed in and had a great time. Super friendly staff, service was fantastic. It was a great place to hangout. We will 100% add this place to our favourites and return when we are back down again for a game. We came mostly for drinks but one guy had their wings and said they were excellent.

Google
Came in from out of town. This place was just a couple blocks from where we were staying. We went and checked it out. Loved this place! Great neighborhood bar! The bartender was awesome....sorry, I didn't get her name. Got there after the kitchen closed, so didn't get any food. Music was playing, but not too loud. Just an overall great spot! Go check it out!

Google
Such a great small local bar. The bartender was very nice and informative on the menu and what the ingredients were. The vibes here were really nice for an after work meal with friends!

Google
Swung by Tap Room on 19th while waiting to finish up an errand nearby. It was a quiet Saturday afternoon, and I was able to have some relaxing beers and light conversation. Didn't try any food, but I was impressed by the whiskey selection. Will be back to try food and whiskey next time.

Yelp
Good selection of craft beers on tap (14?) and good pours. But what impressed me was the service and the burger. I ordered medium rare burger and this place cooked it to perfection. Scorched on the outside like a steak, but rare on the inside. It smelled like a steak off the grill. The service was on point: not abandoning you at the bar, but also keeping the water glass full and the beer flowing. A good place to read a book or do emails in the early evening.

Yelp
Poorly managed anymore. Hit or miss on them having a real bartender, chef and actually having what they offer on the menu.

Yelp
Great spot - so glad we got to check it out. Started off a Monday pub crawl with friends, and were quickly seated and taken care of by the friendly, funny bartender. Monday was a Burger special, and we all took advantage of it. Beer list is awesome, burger was delicious and prepared perfectly and the fries were great. Really a cool spot - will absolutely be back. Thanks for an awesome lunch at the start of a super fun day.

Yelp
My family and I love this place for eating alfresco on a beautiful day. Food is always amazing.

Yelp
I like a bar with a hook; billiards, karaoke, etc. and this place wasn't offering any of that. Usually you could make up for this with great food and friendly staff. Well.... Our server was kind of a prick and I guess abandoned our table cause half-way through the meal, we got a different lady randomly. The food was pretty tasteless, too. Only reason I'm giving 2 stars over 1 is because they serve their beer in really big glasses at a modest price.

Yelp
A small, quaint tavern that actually cooks your meat the way you ask!!! I got the taproom burger and fries (sans bread) and it was very tasty and filling. Very chill, dark vibes in the place (it is a tavern, after all) and the women working there were very cheery and friendly. Might have to make this my new go to spot for a meal and a brew.

Kavina P.

Yelp
Food is delicious and they have a great beer selection. I highly recommend this place. Service is a hit or miss depending on the day, but definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Tap Room on 19th is a great bar to enjoy a good cold draft beer or cocktail, and I love that the indoors currently requires proof of vaccination (as of November 2021). You can walk to the Broad Street Line from here so it's a good spot before a game - though it also seems like a great place to stay and watch the game. We really enjoyed their cheesesteak - they make their wiz with cooper sharp and it was such cheesy goodness. It's also so nice that you can pay an extra dollar for both fries and salad rather than having to choose! Looking forward to trying more of their food soon!

Yelp
They have an incredible Sunday brunch and for a place of its size on a Sunday not to smell like cigarettes is a win-win. They are always incredibly kind to my daughter. The menu during the week has an awesome variety and takeout or delivery. Options are available depending on your taste. Also, a great place to watch a football game.

Yelp
So I went here for dinner with a group of coworkers. I ordered the Wiz Wit Cheesesteak sandwich with a side salad. I also ordered a couple cocktails to enjoy with my meal. While the homemade cheese wiz was outstanding and the flavor of the beef in the cheesesteak was delicious there was very little filling for all of the bread. What's the point of eating a philly while in Philly if the portion size reminds you of war time rations rather than restaurant portions? Our waitress was good. We didn't have to ask for anything. I'll keep trying to find a great cheesesteak in this area though. Music playing in the joint was good selection but kind of loud for conversation. Some of my coworkers tried their brews and seemed very happy so maybe you should come here more for the drinks and beer as opposed to the dinner menu.

Yelp
Not the first time I have visited the Taproom. Each time I have been there the staff has been wonderfully engaging. Bar food, very good. Gin and Tonic... Outstanding. Great to see a neighborhood bar being successful. Recommend for a local Philly flavor!

Yelp
Friendly staff, neighborhood spot. Best General Tso's Cauliflower and veggie wrap I've had in a long time. Boyfriend enjoyed the cheesesteak. Big portions, felt welcome. Highly recommend

Yelp
Came here on a whim when looking for spots near where my family lives in South Philly when visiting and in need of a quick drink. I'm so glad I did! The cocktails are great, the beer selection is really solid especially for the price, and I'm obsessed with their wings to the extent I went back a week later for more. Definitely will be heading back whenever I'm in town as service and food quality are all top notch and the food is way better than it has any right to be for a small little hole in the wall pub in South Philly.

Yelp
These dinner devours come from @taproomon19th . This south Philly neighborhood establishment is a neighborhood favorite. This bar/restaurant offers a wide variety of beverages and classic comfort food favorites. Our server was very friendly and very welcoming. She was very friendly and helped me through the menu. While here, I ordered the gator bites, shrimp skewers, little pepper wings, with a side salad. The gator bites were very tasteful yet really spicy along with the spicy managed it. The shrimp skewers were very tasteful with a Thai chili dipping sauce. The lemon pepper wings were also good but very zesty with a lot of peppers. If you ever find yourself wanting some great comfort food in a dope south philly neighborhood please check out @taproomon19th and let them know that shimmydevours sent you! #philadelphia #philly #food #foodporn #foodie #foodphotography #foodstagram #foodblogger #gator #wings #lemonpepperwings #salad #water #shrimp #spinach #phillyfood #yelpphilly #googleguides

Yelp
Where do I even begin! Wish I could give more than 5 stars, this place rocks!!! Our server Alexis was the best. Super friendly, down to earth and extremely warm and personable. We had just moved to the neighborhood and still exploring the new restaurants, and we most certainly will be back! The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was HUGE I could not believe it (or finish it, had to get a doggie bag) and was seasoned perfectly. My fiancé got the French dip and loved it. Au jus and bread was perfect together. Solid draft beers as well!! 10/10 will be back!!

Yelp
Tap Room On 19th is one of those places I meant to visit for years but was always too lazy to actually make the trip. After a local gathering recently at the new brewery, our friend group moved here and I realized I recognized the immediate neighborhood. Turns out the place is like half a block from where my paternal grandparents used to live back in the day! How neat. So anyway, it was a busy Friday evening but I walked up to the bar and was instantly served. I ordered by number, which was probably weird and not something I'd usually do, but they make it easy to order by number and I did get the right beer so I guess it wasn't an issue. Their tap list is strong and offers a good range of beers. I also tried a bite of a cheesesteak that was brought out for a friend. It was delicious! I need to go back and have a real meal one of these days. Also, word to the wise: lock the bathroom door behind you. If you fail to and you use the back one, the whole room will get a show. I'm pretty sure dude didn't even notice when I opened (and shut the door as fast as possible!) but other rando folks did and thought it was hilarious. Whoops. The atmosphere was fun and now that I've actually made the step of, you know, walking in the front door, I'm sure it'll be easier to return in the future -- perhaps in the summer when they host fun events and what-not. It certainly seems to be a South Philly gem!

Yelp
Food was delicious, nice crowd and vibe But bartender with green hair was very not attentive at all. Kind of low key rude, He was playing darts while there was a full bar and people were waiting. He also makes it obvious that he doesn't like the south philly folks who are from here. He will literally ignore you. Not a good look to be the face of a business. You have to cater to everyone not just the people who are like you. We probably won't be going back

Yelp
The Taproom of 19th. Nice neighborhood taproom. Looks like it has recently been renovated. Bartender and waiter were attentive and helpful. The cheesesteak was very tasty and small. It did come with a lot of french fries and they filled me up. I also re-learned my lesson about asking the price of a craft beer before I order it. Everyone at the bar seemed like they knew each other and were having a great time. If I lived in the neighborhood I am sure I would be there regularly.

Yelp
We finally made here! We went for happy hour and it was awesome. They have 1/2 off bar snacks, $2 off drafts from 5-7pm. On Tuesdays, they have $2 tacos, $2 tecates, and $5 margs. We sat at the bar and it wasn't too crowded when we went. The bartender was training someone new so we didn't have the best service but the bartender was still friendly. We got: Korean Wings - delicious with a hint of spicy. $2 tacos - beef and chicken. They don't do plain tacos, the beer one had a special sauce and crispy chips on top. the chicken one was fried chicken with a spicy sauce and toasted coconut. The beef taco was better then the chicken. fried eggplant bites - AMAZE. SO GOOD. i could not stop eating them! grilled cheese - they have a specialty grilled cheese everyday. they had the pork roll, egg, and cheese when we went and the BF loved it. It comes with fries and a special sauce to dip. It was good but i couldn't make out what the sauce was! We cannot wait to go back. Definitely an expensive happy hour but we love this place more then SPTR (south philly tap room).

Yelp
Great restaurant/bar with good food, diverse drink menu, and friendly service. Has the nice combo of feeling both like a neighborhood Philly corner bar and a higher-end gastropub. The food was quite good, with different fare than they normal bar. They had interesting craft beers on tap but also plenty of cheaper standard options, like High Life. I like having both options. The atmosphere was perfect and what I liked best. You could watch a game here, have a nice weekday dinner, get drunk on a Saturday night...perfect bar to have in your roster! Only complaint I would have is that the service was decent but not great. Specifically, I felt bad since it seemed like one bartender was doing all the work while the other wasn't doing anything at all! But other than that minor hiccup I think this is a bar well-worth visiting if you are in the area.

Yelp
I have to admit I am a HUGE fan of this spot,it may be small but it surely is a "Gem" located in South Philly. Myself, Vinny P. and Jim H. met up here to grab a few to many libations, share some laughs, and stories, with some bangin ass food. Yes I said "bangin ass" , because kiddies this is the kinda joint you want to enjoy your night at. Besides the horrific parking situation you'd encounter this corner tap room is nothing short of amazing. A constant good vibe with bartenders who are very knowledgeable in the craft scene. We had the pleasure of dealing with Bill and he was on point with everything in which he was pretty solid with his recommendations . From the great crafts on tap that is in constant rotation, and the bottled selections even down to the nice liquor selections Taproom on 19th is on point. You'll surely find something to accommodate your thirst. Tap Room has some pretty good appetizers and bar snacks menu that you can look over. This is what we rocked out: Wings~ Korean Style ! Dude, I mean DUUUDE these wings had me licking my fingers to the point I was about to gnaw on them thinking I had another wing. A nice subtle kick to them with cashews and sesames sprinkled over top adding more flavor to it. Order it! For my main course I went with their: Better Burger Project~ Truly a carnivores dream burger in which I added bacon , well their "Insanity Garlic Bacon" to this work of art. BRRUUHH, Uhh-Maze-ING! This is a Lamb burger with fresh mozzarella from DiBruno Bros. Oh it gets better, they also went and concocted a cucumber and tomato salsa, with a rosemary and mint aioli. This master piece was held together on an Italian potato roll that was made in Conshy. That is Conshohocken for those who don't know what "Conshy" means. I am telling you this thing, this beast I had cooked at a medium rare was juicy and flavorful. I along with my partner in crime were making moaning sounds with every bite. It escalated from a "PG" scene to an "R" rated moment while devouring this . Literally this is a must .. A MUST order if you're a burger fanatic like myself. Great bar, great crew, plenty of TVs for the sporting fan, with an amazing menu. I'm sold,I know I'll be back even if the parking could be a bish.

Yelp
Totally premature review alert. I had such a good, but brief, experience at Tap Room on 19th that I can't resist sharing it. On Saturday, 11/7 they had a big party to celebrate their 2nd anniversary. One of the biggest draws for me was a ridiculously amazing beer list. They also closed off the street for a block party which was pretty cool thing to do. So the hubby and I stopped by specifically for one beer. The staff was so warm, welcoming and knowledgeable about beer in general. They chatted with us about all things beer and were just really chill people. Unfortunately, we had to leave after one drink for another commitment, but we could have stayed there trying different beers and chatting all day. We left with the immediate urge to go back to this establishment for both the beer and the staff. Let's just say that I don't feel that enthusiastic about a bar that often.

Yelp
A great neighborhood spot! The atmosphere is very laid back, lots of lights and artwork hung up. The music was also on point. I went for happy hour (5-7). They offer half off wings and tso cauliflower. I ordered the cauliflower and it was quite tasty. I added a picture below. The draft beer is $2 off and $1 off of cans. I wish they had more food options for happy hour. With limited choices, it won't take long to get burnt out. I added a picture of the Mac n cheese as well. It was okay. Don't think it will be a repeat order for

Yelp
This place has come a long way. The beer list has continued to improve and the food is solid pub grub. Last trip I had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, which was a big portion, definitely brought some heat, fried and maybe a tad too greasy, but still solid. One of my last trips they included a special from Mike's BBQ which was a smoked brisket with a smoked cheese. Was bummed to hear they don't incorporate his food in their menu anymore. Definitely a place to hit up if your in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm obsessed with this place! I'm from California and make it a point to stop here whenever we're in Philly. The ambiance is fun. The food is amazing and a lot of their dishes are house made which I love. I crave their Cauliflower dish! We also made a trip during their brunch hour and tried their garlic Bloody Mary and DANG! We could definitely scare off some vampires! Very tasty! Can't wait for our next trip back here!

Eric L.

Yelp
Hidden gem in South Philly near the stadiums! Food is great... wife had Tap Burger, delicious, and I had the cheesesteak with their own cheese mix, so good. Niece had Nashville Chicken and it was literally the biggest piece of chicken I have ever seen! And fries were perfect! Now for the best part, the bourbon selection. Can't believe that selection at such a small place, even had Eagle Rare. Beer and cocktail selection was top notch. Alexis was awesome! Go and Enjoy!
google avatar

Jules C.

Yelp
Love this place....great beer selection and knowledgeable and gregarious bartenders. They have regular street festivals on their block and just seem to be a great addition to this neighborhood. The food menu offers interesting specials and solid standards....Burger Monday, taco Tuesday etc. their burgers are great on any given night and have yet to disappoint. Their general tso's cauliflower is worth traveling for - please don't ever take it off the menu. One caveat - parking in this neighborhood is "a sport", do yourself a favor and take an Uber or the 17.

Yelp
Decent food, a quality beer list, a pleasant crowd and friendly service make up for the few deficiencies in this charming little gastropub. A friend and I stopped here after the birds game looking for a sandwich and a beer. We left after checking both boxes! Pros: Beer list is lengthy and well-rounded. Many local, regional and famous craft brews combined with a few traditional picks. Staff was also knowledgeable on those items. Food - I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich which was a little dry but enjoyable. Sauce was slightly spicy but the sandwich never turned into a gross mixture of chicken breading and hot sauce. My friend had a traditional burger which took a little while for them to handle but came out perfectly done and was complimented! Service - servers are knowledgeable and pleasant. Prices were reasonable and in line for the area. I think beer was perhaps mildly overpriced. Cons: My friend attempted to order a 1-off hamburger that was just lettuce, tomato and cheese. He's not a mayo fan and the first burger came back with mayo. It was remedied quickly except that they had to cook another burger. It happens and they were apologetic, but I'm not sure why mayo is a burger standard. Oh well. I believe they burger ended up being complimentary which is pretty much exactly how to do business, IMHO. Maybe this isn't really a con? One issue with service. It's a little slow. They were somewhat understaffed post-game (still 4pm NFL games) and the bar was maybe 60-70% and our server was hustling, but he was a bit overwhelmed. Still pleasant. Conclusion: It's not going to be regularly on my radar, but it was enjoyable post-game stop and maybe I'll come back here after another game!

Yelp
This establishment has an old school neighborhood look and feel. Being a local, that's an important trait for a bar, pub, gastro etc. I had the unfortunate pleasure of eating here for the first and last time. One would think that a "gastropub" in the neighborhood in which its located would cater more to the local crowd and not the touristy, faux foodie types. The food menu is very limited and boasts more than it actually delivers. I ordered the Cheese curds....very simple and easy to prepare but got six for $10. That was strike 1. The Japanese chicken seemed more like a Frankenstein creation that a toddler created out of subpar scraps of chicken. Strike 2. The beer selection was pretty decent and they had local favorites (always a plus) but $6 for an 8 oz dixie cup of beer? You can go to fishtown or olde city and get a full pint for $5. I had high hopes for this place but it fell very short of anything close to what I expected. But hey, if you liked overpriced food that makes you regret walking in the door? By all means indulge.....then go to a real gastropub that can satisfy you with properly priced food and drinks.

Yelp
Another wonderful bar in deep south philly. It's rather dangerous that my work bus drops me off on this block everyday now that I know how delicious the food and cocktails are! And during happy hour? Intimate and homey atmosphere? TAKE ALL MY MONEY! So far, I've only had the happy hour specials - General Tso's Cauliflower, Korean Wings, and Buffalo Wings. All three are amazing and for half-price this happy hour really can't be beat. I've tried every gin cocktail they had and still dream about the strawberry infused tequila. I will definitely be back to try Taco Tuesdays and Burger Mondays.

Yelp
Army/Navy weekend they were slammed, but handled it like pros with a lot of grace! Our bartender/server, Dan did an amazing job of juggling our party of six. We are typically a high maintenance group (well, two of us are...) so Dan's mastery of sass and service was charming and greatly appreciated. The food was delicious! While the kitchen was a little slow (it was a huge football weekend!) everything that came out was delicious! The charcuterie and deviled eggs were lovely as starters, and everyone enjoyed their meals...from chicken wings to cheesesteak - burger to reuben... every order was yummy and worth the wait.

Patrick S.

Yelp
Yo Philly fam! This place is such a vibe. I love the interior and hole in the wall vibes that you get as soon as you walk in the door. The drink selection was AMAZING. I enjoyed any beer they had to chose from off the tap. Unique flavors and such that you don't find very often. I had the tap burger and fries (ordered medium) That burger was the best I've had in 12 months. Perfectly pink in the middle. My friend got the nashville hot chicken (also very very tasty). It was not as spicy as real nashville hot chicken as I was expecting it to be. But it was comicly HUGE. took two hungry people to finish that sammie. Due to COVID I understand there being shortages. However, when we went the bartender told us immediately they ran out of: -philly cheesesteaks, crab fries, tacos, and wings, thus giving us an extremely limited menu left to order from. Made the best of it however. Would definitely go again.

Monica O.

Yelp
Well, not really much to rave about here. Stopped in on a Friday night and the interior was very gastropub-y. The bartender greeted us and handed us menus once we said we wanted to have dinner. They had a few specials that night so we decided to try the pan seared salmon with asparagus and the veal picatta with spaghetti and lemon and capers. Our food arrives and both of our meals were oddly played on super small plates. Not like tapas style plates but like sharing plates. VERY odd and hard to eat as I didn't want any of my food to slip off the plate onto the table. I will say the veal was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The lemon and capers also did the spaghetti a huge justice. The salmon on the other hand could've used additional seasoning and the asparagus was blah as well. Food seems to be hit or miss so we probably won't be back, which isn't worth what they charge.
google avatar

Gino C.

Yelp
Love this spot! Staff is friendly, food is amazing, and the draft list is always great! Half-prices burgers on Mondays. And their burgers are easily one the best in the city. Also among the best in the city are the wings. I recommend the Korean BBQ. And if you can handle spicy, get you some General Tso's cauliflower - we come back just for that! Great happy hour specials too! This place is a neighborhood gem!
google avatar

Tricia T.

Yelp
I read about this pub on some visitphilly or uwishunu article about the best burgers in the city. I bookmarked this place in case I was ever hungry on the way home from a game since I don't spend a lot of time outside of Center City when I'm in town. I finally had a reason to come here last weekend when East Passyunk turned into Arctic Ave, and I can say that I am SO happy with that decision. First of all, MACARONI AND CHEESE FRIES. Let that sink in. A plate of french fries, topped with some delicious macaroni and cheese, with a seemingly frivolous (but so necessary) fried egg on top. Do it. Then, burgers. I ordered the tap burger, and all by itself it was amazing. I tried it with and without the aioli, and honestly I thought the flavors worked well together without it. The service got a little slow at times, but I think the bartenders were doubling as waiters so I wasn't too peeved by it. I nearly had to roll myself out of there. I will absolutely be back! The macaroni and cheese fries and burger were a good enough reason to be in that area all by themselves!
google avatar

Julie W.

Yelp
Went on a Monday for half priced burgers. I had the beet burger (which the waitress was kind enough to make sure I knew it was only beet and no beef) but my friend got the house burger and reported it was delicious. Fries were great too. I'll bring my guy back for burgers and brews soon!
google avatar

Tiffany P.

Yelp
Great place for drinks rather if you're alone or with friends. Came here on Christmas night because I didn't have anything better to do and it was packed! (I wasn't the only one with nothing planned) they had buffet style for you to munch on cause there was no chef working and food was great. The drinks were good too. Very friendly/family atmosphere which is good. Definitely see why it's so crowed.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered through Uber eats , everything was completely cold and seemed as if it was left out for a while. The delivery time continuously is drawn back and was over an hour late. Not to mention food was not even worth the trouble.. will not order here again. Also I have ordered through UberEATS before and never had an issue.

Yelp
If you travel a lot, the last thing you ever want to do is eat at the airport. So inevitably you leave the airport starving. Headed north and just happened to take a second to find this place on yelp and I'm sure glad I did. Only 4 miles north of the airport, it only took me a few min to get there. Parking is parking in Philadelphia, so there's no complaining about that. The bartender, I think Bobby, was great but the food was even better. I love burgers but did come across the Impossible Burger a few months ago in Portland. Since then I've had it a few other places and it's not been cooked correctly. Tap Room on 19th cooked this thing perfectly on the flattop so it had that amazing crust. Came with an onion/ mushroom cheddar sauce on a the perfect brioche bun. This place had a great feel from the moment I arrived and the food was absolutely amazing! Cool spot that made me feel like I lived in South Philly for the night!

Yelp
There beer list was great, then came the food... The 4 of us were instantly excited about some rare draft selections and looked forward to trying a multitude of food options. We started with 3 appetizers... our first 3 mistakes. Up first were the deviled eggs. Not sure if deviled eggs can be pre-made then kept in a freezer - but after this order, I am tending to believe they can be. Void of all flavor and uniqueness, these lime-flavored devils should be sent back to hell. Next up, the true disappointment of the evening, the pretzel bites. These flavorless sticks looked like they came fresh out of a bag of Pup-peroni dog treats. Even smothered in a cheese-like condiment provided, there was no way to bring these dried out morsels back to life. Positive points for serving them in a Denny's-style skillet, but I'm sure that was meant to be funny. Pure hunger led the 4 of us to stomaching half of this order. Finally were the Korean style wings. Not the worst, but a bit to be desired on flavor. Things didn't get much better with the entrees. The hot chicken sandwich with minimal heat and an order of tomato soup (with, I believe, a touch of Old Bay?!). Unfortunately, the rest of my party was equally unimpressed with their entrees. Super friendly waitstaff (even he chuckled at the sight of our pretzel bites) and an impressive draft list salvaged our experience.

Yelp
I was craving a good burger so I decided to order from UberEats. My food came quickly and look great at first. I've ordered from Tap Room on 19th many times. I used to love their burgers up until today. I always order my burgers medium well and have never had an issue before. But today I was sent an undercooked burger. The burger was practically raw. I sent UberEats photos and nothing was done to fix my order. Called the restaurant and they told me to screw off. Basically they cooked everything right and would not remake the burger. Don't waste your time here. As a repeated customers, I would have hoped for better customer service. They do not value their customers at all. I feel like I'm not valued at all. I will not order again. They just lost a regular customer.

Yelp
Loved it that they're taking the gastropub concept out of Center City and Passyunk East and extending it out to 19th & Ritner. So Tap Room on 19th still has a South Philly neighborhood bar feel to it, but with the happy addition of an excellent beer list, and good food to go with. I recommend always starting with whatever they've got on cask. I also can personally vouch for their housemade veggie burger - such a relief not to have the bland, generic "garden burger" - that they call the Bonzo Burger. Fries (plain, simple but perfectly cooked) were excellent as well. Our bartend was a perfect example of attentiveness. I'm particularly pleased to see that they are participating in Dining Out for Life 2015, Thursday, April 30, and I'm hoping for a great turnout to support a local pub that gives back to the community.

Yelp
The place was lively even on a Monday (Columbus Day) and it is great to take advantage of the half off burger special! Just ensure you confirm with the waitress/waitor that the burger you want is included in the offer! The tap burger was delicious! My family members tried the Impossible Burger and the Cheesestake, and all of us wiped our plates clean by the end of the meal indicating the satisfaction with our food!

Yelp
Good food and decent selection of beers. The bartender was so helpful and nice, she gave us some good recommendations and allowed us to try some beers before we were ready to drink a full glass of it. Everyone their is super chill and friendly, happy hour is the best time to come here. If someone is looking for a chill place to grab a beer I would recommend this place!

Yelp
Met up with some friends for HH on Taco Tuesday a few weeks ago - beautiful evening, so we sat outside. Margaritas were good for $5, and my friends seemed to enjoy the selection of beers. The food, however, was really disappointing! Special tacos were al pastor (the BF's favorite), buffalo chicken, or vegetarian (hummus - wha?!?!?). BF ordered 3 al pastor, my girlfriend ordered the hummus (given that she's a veggie and didn't have another choice). Tacos were SMALL and did not look good - had a bite of the al pastor and it was pretty tasteless. I ordered the special buffalo chicken nachos ($8) and was also terribly disappointed - essentially NO sauce or cheese, stale chips, and totally not worth the money. The only redeeming dish was the General Tso's cauliflower, which was good. And my friends' 5 year old confidently ordered the ($14) burger and seemed happy.

Yelp
The food was very good. Try the cheese steak...worth it! The cauliflower was awesome. The burger was perfect. It may be tight quarters but it is well worth it.

Yelp
My fiancé and I visited Tap Room this week, traveling from Fishtown to give it a try. Worth every minute of traffic and travel to share a delicious, (half-priced) burger, fries, and wings--with prompt, friendly service, no less. We recommend taking up their happy hour and special offers throughout the week; it's a lot easier to justify another burger and beer. There's no doubt TR19 is deserving of all of its street and critic cred, especially given their recent award for best wings.

Yelp
Love this place! Great burgers, beer selection, and service. Monday is half price burger night and Tuesday is taco night- both worth attending.

Yelp
Partner and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. Beer selection was good, two kegs were kicked; OK, so replace them! Beer seemed to be overpriced for the neighborhood, my Sierra Hop Hunter IPA was $7, partners Abbey White was an $8 tulip glass. We ordered the $11 wings, and got 8 of the tiniest wings yet. Sauce was good, nothing to brag about. OK, 2 craft beers, one order of wings with tip set us back $34. Not a place to spend the afternoon watching a game. I guess the best time to come is during M-F happy hour, but get ripped off on Sat and Sun to make up for it.
