A tiny, family-run taquería known for al pastor, lengua, and big tortas. Highlighted by the city’s tourism site for fast, friendly service and bold flavors, it’s a longtime lunch favorite with a loyal local following.

I loved my meal. I got 2 flautas and a Chile relleno. It was amazing. Rice was good too. I also liked the two bottles of sauce they give you to spice things up.

This restaurant blew me away. The service was very quick, and the food was on another level. I ordered the Birria Tacos and a Carne Sope. The sope was so good I don’t think I can eat one anywhere else, and the tacos were equally to par. My partner ordered a burrito, he said it was the best burrito he ever ate in his life. It never came apart, and was loaded with all the fillings. I think we both agreed that this will be our new stop when we come to Lincoln.

We’ve been loyal fans of Taqueria El Rey for about 3 years now which officially makes this the longest relationship I’ve had with any tacos (don’t tell the others). My wife and I usually go for the ground beef tacos, and let me tell you, they never miss. The chips and salsa? So good they should come with a warning label: Highly Addictive. The service is always friendly, the vibe is chill, and the food hits the spot every single time. Honestly, if this place ever closed down, we’d probably start a support group. One small request though… can we get a salsa with some serious kick? Maybe a ghost pepper or Carolina Reaper option for those of us who like to live dangerously and clear our sinuses while we’re at it! Highly recommend just don’t eat all the chips before I get there.

Food was okay. Cashier was great. Parking lot was a hot mess bordering on dangerous and hard to get in and out of. With no drive thru and average food, its not worth the hassle.

The Horchata here is my favorite!! I have tried many other places and yet to taste one as good as here! The burritos de carne asada are delicious especially with there green chili. The restaurant is not esthetically pleasing to the eye, but the food is great!!! Oh and getting out of the parking lot can be challenging as it's right off N.27th

Great authentic food, made fresh for you. The burrito and quesadilla are both very filling, especially the El Ray burrito. Sauce is a must for the El Ray as the ground beef needed more seasoning. Front counter staff spoke both English and Spanish, overall a great place. Keep in mind their hours are different depending on the day.

I would agree they have the best queso birria tacos in Lincoln, seeing as I have tried every spot in Lincoln multiple times. Also the most affordable. Small spot so limited dining. Chips and salsa when dining in. I recommend going at 11 to 12, or after 1-1:30. I’ve never been on the Friday or Saturday.

Delicious! We haven't had real Mexican food in two years and this satisfied the craving. Customer service is very friendly. Would definitely return if we are ever in Lincoln again.
