"Jay and Norisa Espinal, the restaurateurs behind Don Pedro’s on the Upper East Side, are back with a second restaurant crosstown. At the new spot, the duo is focusing on dishes from the Iberian Peninsula, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico, with food coming from chefs Rufino Peralta and Giovanni Castilla. A lovely dinner. Tasty Spanish dishes, great paella. I enjoyed the red wine duck, absolutely delicious. Service was attentive. Restroom was clean. Isn’t a place of extraordinary food, but by all means good enough. Fond memories of a dinner

Went on NYE for a pre celebration dinner and the food was amazing, good portion and presentation, as well as the taste. My party ordered the empanadas, croquetas and ibérico as appetizers and everything was so good. We tried the Tempranillo Marques de Murrieta and it turned out to be just perfect. As for the entrees the duck had just the right amount of sweet, the zarzuela was amazing, I can only imagine what their paella is like, and the filet mignon was just the right amount and wonderful presentation. And for dessert the cheesecake, so good. The service was excellent from the moment we stepped in. Our server answered all of our questions, checked on us, even helped us with putting on our coats, wished I remember his name. At last we decided to stay longer so we sat at the bar, the bartenders were very friendly and the drinks really good. 100% one of the gems of UWS.

Everything from the cocktails to the dessert was so full of flavor! Great presentation and the food was amazing. Hard to pick a favorite but the croquets were such a compliment of flavors I would have to order them again to start. Cocktails were a highlight as well. We will be back for sure!

Called ahead of a Valentine's evening reservation that I'd be running a bit late, and they happily accommodated us. Their service is excellent - such friendly/funny staff, attention, and consideration. The waiter, Justin, checked-in on us regularly. And the woman I presume to be the manager was incredibly friendly. One of the front receptionists saw my partner & I taking pictures of each other and she immediately offered to take some of us both. Atmosphere is warm and cozy, just what I was hoping for when I found the place on Maps. They really do a lot with the size of the space they have, though the tables against the wall seats are a little too long for comfortable conversation. We asked to be moved to more intimate seating they happily obliged. +10 The only critique I have was for the food itself. We had a Valentine's special three-course menu. We found that both our appetizer plates were exceedingly small portions that were slightly under-seasoned. The second-portion was a minty frappe that was actually in a very small glass, I'm not sure why I was expecting something taller. And the third-portion, for me, was a tasty pasta but, again, a portion that wasn't very filling at all. My partner's portion though, a steak with fries, was filling and well-seasoned. Their cocktails (I don't drink) were also mixed very well. I'm chalking the food experience up to the fact that it was late, the chefs were probably serving these items all day, and may have gotten a little lazy near closing time. I would give them another chance on a non-themed night for the customer experience & ambience together!

We can not say enough great things about Tasca. For an hour and a half we felt like we weren’t even in Manhattan, but in a Spanish Caribbean resort restaurant. The entire place is so tastefully decorated and the ambience is so warm and welcoming. Jose was our server and was an absolute joy and he’s also quite the comedian (but no really he’s a real one) . His recommendations were spot on and we couldn’t be happier with the IMPECCABLE service he provided us. With that said, ALL the staff is extremely attentive and these people are great at what they do . Rodrigo was also extremely friendly and helpful as well, and the general manager is beyond professional. Now the food/drinks : Drinks: vodka lemonade and a fruit mock tail:excellent Appetizer: veggie empanadas, CRISP AND YUMMY. Dipping sauces were incredible and create so much depth of flavor Mains: churrasco with chimichurri and octopus entree (it was a special). The octopus was tender and unctuous and The churrasco was a PERFECT medium rare and MELTED in your mouth . The yuca fries were ON POINT dessert: Coconut tres leche was scrumptious and the trufa (chocolate truffle) with raspberry sauce were the perfect finish to our wonderful evening To sum it up: the service is UNMATCHED, everything is packed full of flavor, and the prices are beyond affordable . Less than $200 for all three courses for 2 people . Get yourself to Tasca for the perfect date night or any occasion. They’re really incredible , and just a few short blocks from 81st museum of natural history station. Thank you Tasca!!!

Google
Very authentic Spanish restaurant with a wonderful vibe and great service. First course was a flatbread mushroom pizza-like dish that was very tasty. The seafood main was excellent, as was the duck, along with some nice Spanish rice. There was originality in each dish, for example the duck was on top of a plaintain and cheese thing that was different and excellent. Wine choices were slightly disappointing. Went back for the risotto, which was extremely generous, with lots of goodies including 3 large pieces of chicken. Had a bit too much salt though.

Food was great and really well seasoned. The croquetas , paella , yucas fritas , and the passion fruit cheesecake were top tier. The ambience is great, and our server Ashley was awesome 🙏🏽.

Organized a retirement dinner in the Wine Room and could not be happier. From the start, coordinating with Tasca was effortless, Norisa was so responsive and helpful in planning. The food was delicious, guests specifically loved the pork. Service was top notch.

Yelp
My friends and I came to dinner on a Sunday night. We had made a reservation at around 7pm which may not have been strictly necessary as the restaurant was not too busy at that time. We were warmly greeted by the staff and led to our table immediately after arriving. This restaurant is very nice-- there is a dimly lit, moody, soft energy to it with exposed brick on the walls reminiscent of a wine cellar. I can see this place being perfect for a date: romantic, a little mysterious, and elevated. Our server was really attentive of our table and was very knowledgeable of the drinks and specials available for the day. My friend ordered an Oceanographer as a cocktail which he highly recommended, while I got a glass of the Albariño white wine which was very dry and sharp in the best way possible. For food I tried: - Pulpo a la parrilla: our waiter explained that they had different sizes available for that day (3 oz, 6 oz, and 8oz). We decided to split a 6oz between 4 and it was honestly a very good size to each get a generous taste of the dish. I was windblown at how flavorful and well cooked this was. The octopus was not chewy and had the perfect tenderness to it. The flavor was divine, there was a hint of smokiness, some heat, and some umami components. The octopus was balanced out by a refreshing bed of tangy and citrus greens with the sweetness of the beets. Highly recommend this one. - Sea bass: one of the specials of the day that immediately caught my attention when I heard about it. This came with two perfectly cooked, buttery, flaky filets of sea bass. The fish was dressed generously in this tangy and butter caper sauce that was just divine. The fish came over some sautéed spinach which made the dish feel more hearty, as well as these little bits of steamed yuca which added a starchy and sweet component. The portion was generous and filling. Would definitely order again. - Suprema de ave: My friend ordered this and the portion was so large that she did not finish it (hence I tried some of it). Another very good dish! It came with 3 pieces of chicken breast that were filled with generous amounts of kale, goat cheese, dates, and pine nuts. This was truly an outstanding dish, especially for those who enjoy a little hint of sweetness in their main dishes. The goat cheese added a perfect creamy component. The edges were perfectly crispy. Unfortunately, I was too full for dessert but the options on their menu all looked exceptionally good and intriguing. I really appreciated the high quality food, the amazing flavors, the exceptional service, and the very nice ambiance here. It is conveniently located in the UWS so perfect for a nice dinner if you are in the area. I will certainly add this to the list of places that I frequent and will come back for more amazing seafood and to try their desserts. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
I returned to Tasca for my girlfriend's birthday dinner tonight (1/25/25) and unfortunately I was not met with the same wonderful service and food as my previous experience. We were charged extra for accommodating our table's allergies (we requested alternative sides with the churrasco) but were not informed of the additional $22 charge until the food arrived without the side listed on the menu. While the extra charge wasn't a huge issue, both churrasco mains were served ice cold (the duck and empanadas came out hot) still delicious.... But ice cold and more expensive. We also prior to our mains coming out requested a second bottle of wine for the table. The bottle of wine did not show up until we had finished eating 35-40 minutes later. On top of that, it took almost two hours from the time we sat down to receive our mains. Two hours! Rather disappointingly multiple people in my party went up to ask about when candles would come out to celebrate her birthday (we let them know prior to our mains coming out that there was a birthday at the table) we probably went up 3 times after we got our check to see when it was coming but were brushed away each time 40 minutes after paying the $400 bill we decided to leave w/o a birthday celebration. Really really sad to see a place I once loved fail this poorly on such a special day. I'd consider coming back because the food is generally great but will never make the mistake of trusting Tasca with a special occasion again. Dine cautiously...

Yelp
A dining experience. From the excellent service from Rodrigo ( and the support staff) to the amazing Remolacha salad , this was an extraordinary dining experience. Our main course of Chuleta De Cordero ( baby lamb chops ) melt in your mouth. The final piece de resistance is passion fruit cheesecake. For a true lover of great food, experience the food of Tasca on Columbus Avenue.

Yelp
Tasca is one of the most authentic Spanish Tapas restaurants in Boston bar none I love their Sangria and all the Tapas they have to offer. They also have live music on ocassion. Go now you wont regret it.

Yelp
Amazing. Food was delicious. Service top notch. Went in for my daughter's 31th bday w a group of 6 w no reservations after a pottery event at Color me mine. They sat us promptly. They were fast. Food was delicious. Place was beautiful. No complaints

Yelp
Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous! From entering ..checking our coats ....to be seated ...a great experience. The service was extremely prompt and courteous. Constant cleaning of our table, our plates , and table crumbs are also a big plus in my book! Now the meal. Food came out at an appropriate warm temperature...presentation was good ..and flavors were on point . I must say portions were great and the meal not only pleasing to the eye, it satisfied everyone's stomach with no complaints! Thank you staff..chefs..well executed dining experience ! #goeatnow

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. This is my go to. There's nothing bad on the menu. Everything is absolutely delicious. The service is awesome and the ambiance is great. You feel like you're in another country. It's just really wonderful. I highly recommend it. Brunch is awesome!!!

Yelp
Wow is all I can say. Was truly blown away by the food and service at this place. Came for restaurant week with a group of 5. We ended up ordering from both the restaurant week menu and regular menu. They were super accommodating because we had 2 kids with us so they made sure everyone was happy. I could honestly go on forever about how amazing the food and service were. Ashley was so attentive and informative about the menu. The drinks and food were delicious. Definitely have the octopus and the Tres Leches cake. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Ambiance - The establishment had such a beautiful and romantic vibe. Service- The waitress was informative , patient and friendly. Food - The food was the 3F's. Fantastic ..Flavorful and Fresh!! So glad to have discovered this restaurant during restaurant week. I have eaten all over the Caribbean and this place is like being on all the islands at once. The unique dishes stay true to the Caribbean flavors but with a unique twist like I have never encountered. Lastly, the Playa de pasión and the croquettes de maduro were incredible and absolutely a must try !! Passion fruit, coconut and Rum has changed my life !!

Yelp
4.5/5 Came here with my friends for brunch, we had the unlimited mimosas and sangria, which they kept flowing and weren't stingy with! The food was really good, I loved the churrasco meat with eggs. The servers were so nice and even took pictures of us. And the bill only came out to about $70pp with all you can drink, an appetizer and entree! Such a good deal for Manhattan ! We will definitely be coming back

Kristie P.

Yelp
This place was super cute and the service was amazing! Unfortunately, the food did not blow me away. The pudín de pan dessert was the best thing we had, and they make good mocktails. Wouldn't really come back here but they do have a good bottomless deal.

Karen H.

Yelp
Tasca would be great for a group dinner with its huge space! Everything I tried was fresh and yummy, though I felt it was overpriced. I would take advantage of their happy hour next time which is at the bar from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for both food and drinks.

Yelp
We visited during NY restaurant week, while there for my birthday weekend to catch a broadway musical. The ambience is traditional with a little modern flare The service was superb, we never had to flag the server down for anything, he was on point without us having to ask for any refills etc. Let's get into it. The food was Devine. We ordered the empanadas, croquettes, and grilled octopus to start. ALL of the starters were soooo delicious . The main course - we all ordered the filet mignon in cheese mushroom sauce. Hear me, when I say, the filet cut like butta, it was so tender and was cooked to the right temperature! I could literally eat this everyday. Dessert - we ordered wacheesecake and tres leche cake. Both had rich flavor and left us wanting more. A must try!

Yelp
Sat outside. Beautiful night in NYC Went here with my daughter and her BF. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We shared a flat bread with shrimp and chorizo. Interesting flavors. But good I had a seafood mix in broth. Not my normal go to. But it was quite tasty. We did not have a cocktail or dessert. Everyone liked their dishes. Pricey are typical. I would come back.

Brigette B.

Yelp
This place is great! The staff are very nice and welcoming. They gave great suggestions on what apps to get and on the wine list. The restaurant is a lot bigger than it seems from the outside. I think they would be able to accommodate groups well. On a nice day it's so lovely to sit outside on the sidewalk, gives it a very European feel. We sat at the bar inside, and the inside is done very well. The decor fits the vibe nicely. We came here for some drinks and appetizers. We had the sancochito de mariscos, wine, and cocktails. The appetizer was delicious! I would come back just for that dish again. They had some really fun cocktails as well. The drinks weren't too sweet which is always appreciated. I think if you ate a full meal here it might be a little bit more on the pricey side, but nothing crazy. They also have a happy hour that we want to go back and try!

Daniel R.

Yelp
Came here for drinks, didn't realize how exceptional the drinks were (well proportioned). Tony, the bartender, is a true mixologist. The vibe is great (hostess Alicia and waiters are very welcoming). Def recommend after work or on a lazy Sunday. Yuca Frita is basically Dominican Style. As a Dominican, I very much approve.

Godson N.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my partner's birthday on a cold day in January. The timing was impeccable because although it started to snow heavily, and I expected the restaurant to be on the brink of closing, it instead was still full, which I thought was interesting. When you walk in, you can definitely feel the blend of the Latin American and Spanish influence, from the music to the overall aesthetic. The lights are dimmed, which only amplify the mood. For food, I ordered the Churrasco, which was a grilled skirt steak with yucca fries, Caribbean mojo, and green chimichurri sauce. And I have to admit, I was a bit thrown off at the idea of the chimichurri sauce glazed over the steak, but it worked incredibly well, and was incredibly flavorful. Skirt steak is not my usual go-to cut of steak but this one was done well. The presentation was also nice, seeing the colors meld together over a bed of what looked like mixed greens. If you're looking for a great date night option, then TASCA may very well be the place for you.

Bo D.

Yelp
Everything was fabulous, the food, the cocktails, the ambience and the service. I can't think of one thing I'd even nitpick about. It didn't surprise me that the owners used to own Don Pedro's which closed a number of years ago. I was a regular there and was so sad when it closed because that used to be one of my favorites. Will definitely return.

Paulina W.

Yelp
I came here for a light bite and some drinks and I enjoyed my time here. The ambiance of the restaurant was great and the staff were very friendly. The food was great as well - the tabla is a great option for a light night and I definitely recommend the hibiscus drink!

Ron M.

Yelp
We had dinner here on a Saturday night. The service is friendly and ambiance casual with a Spanish theme. The cocktail menu has some interesting though not particularly balanced drinks. The food attempts a fusion of spanish and carribean flavors that don't always work. The duck was altered in a mashed yuca and sweet plantain base that did not really work. The plantain croquettes were good. The setas y gambas (mushroom and shrimp) was very good. The paella, with mussels, clams, shrimp and chicken was passable.

Marina S.

Yelp
I came here for brunch and I absolutely loved it. The servers were the best. I've been here once before for lunch and the food and service is outstanding. Everyone is insanely friendly. The food is delicious. I liked everything I've ordered. If you like high end Spanish food, this is the place to go. The location is perfect, right by Central Park. The brunch is a $28 prix fix menu plus $20-$28 if you get bottomless drinks.

Julian U.

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner here, overall 5/5 Food: 4.5 / 5 for my main I had a delicious seafood stew with rice. The stew was chocked full of extremely tender squid, shrimp, mussels, clams, and scallops. Very flavorful. For apps we tried the octopus special which I found to be a bit overrated. The plátano croquets were outstanding and more than made up for the octopus however, especially with the sundried tomato chutney. Drink: 5/5 we had a nice bottle of Rioja for not too expensive ($60) Ambience: 4.5/5 it's a nice space but can get loud. Service: 4/5 out waiter was very knowledgeable. However the table next to us has their order taken before us (without us turning the waiter away or anything like that), so docking a point here. Side note to management - there were too many specials. I think like 4 apps and 4 mains specials is just a bit overwhelming to keep track of - would suggest sticking to ~2 each.

William S.

Yelp
Really exceptional food. We had the grilled octopus and shrimp/chorizo flatbread small plates and the churasco and braised pork shank for entrees. Each dish was thoughtfully conceived with amazing flavors and cooked very well. The service was excellent throughout our visit. Finally, the ambiance is appealing as well. It's a rather large space with a nice bar and plenty of room between tables.

Angelina A.

Yelp
This is one of the sexiest restaurants on the UWS. Brunch was delicious and they have great pours. I can't wait for a fun date night here.

Jane D.

Yelp
Time for a re-review given our numerous return visits. Tasca is a 4.5 for NYC, rounded up to a 5. The restaurant is an incredibly well oiled machine that has hired (and, we're glad to see, often retained) great staff. They have pleasant sidewalk seating, a lovely bar area, proletariat seating (smaller tables, closer together) in the back, and a room downstairs, which I've never seen used. On a recent evening, our server, Amanda, was affirmatively kind to our pup and brought her water without us requesting. Serving sizes have slightly reduced over time, while prices have gone up just a smidgen. But that's really par for the course everywhere and Tasca has done this in a reasonable way that does not feel exploitive. They have a wood fired oven that they're not afraid to use. Recent specials of Mediterranean sea bass (two filets served over spinach with yucca; $39) and ribeye (with yucca and demi-glace sauce, $68) were smoky and perfectly cooked to our requested temperature over an open flame. One of our littles always seems to gravitate to the churrasco (grilled skirt steak, yucca fries, Caribbean mojo, chimichurri; $39), which he happily devours without prompting. The other little is in an anti-food phase, probably as a result of orthodontic tortures. But she still more or less enjoys the suprema de ave (free range chicken breast, goat cheese, Medjool dates, pine nuts, kale; $29). The chicken is tender and moist, the salad-like filling sweetish. The combination somewhat suggests Thanksgiving dinner. Desserts are crowd pleasers. The passionfruit cheesecake ($14) has been a long-time favorite for its light, almost panna cotta like texture and impressive presentation. Trufa de chocolate ($14) is an almost alarmingly large tennis ball of dense, creamy chocolate covered in sprinkles. Wines by the bottle seem to be well curated based on everything we've tried, though the 3x markups seem a little excessive even for the city! Glad to see this place alive and kickin' even on a weekday. Someday we'll get back for the weekday happy hour at the bar sans dependents.

Yelp
Was here back in September last year as part of a group so some of the memories are foggy but the photos allowed me to jog my memory. I remember the service being friendly and trying some other things but I don't remember what else other people had. Anyway as a cocktail I had the Special Issue Armada which consisted of Spanish rum (which was apparently aged over tart grapefruit and caramel with a hint of smoke,) amaro, and raspberry and it was $16. Many of their cocktails owning from their very large rum menu have rum of course and as I am usually a fan of any amaro based cocktail, I went with that one. I remember the cocktail having a good amount of smoke and being small but strong and quite tasty but nothing else regarding tasting notes (maybe sweet and sour to my recollection but unsure.) My appetizer was the "Coca de Setas" which consisted of a flatbread topped with shiitake mushrooms, black bean puree, kale, caramelized onions, pine nuts, and monte enebro cheese and it was $17. The price turned out to be very reasonable as it was massive being basically large enough for a dinner and two people could probably share this and a main dish and leave plenty full. In terms of flavors, it was mostly sweet and savory with a good amount of nuttiness and luckily I can really taste the kale. I personally think part of this could be used as a bite at the bar or as a side or something. Don't remember the other appetizers outside of maybe empanadas which I didn't try and I think scallops. My main dish was the "Magret de Pato" which was a thousand spiced rub duck magret over a tower of sweet plantain with a zinfandel goat cheese and it was $37. The dish had a very unique fun presentation. It was a good-sized piece of tender duck and that part was nice. The issue was the bottom half as I found that the goat cheese overpowered anything that it came in contact with and the textures didn't really work together. It was essentially merged with the sweet plantains and I remember removing some of the goat cheese so I can have the duck with the plantains which worked a lot better. Perhaps another Spanish cheese would work better such as Manchego or Idiazábal to add some nice smokiness or something similar. Still worth it due to the size. I do remember two others splitting the paella and liking and trying the steak and thinking it was fine. I personally did not order dessert as I was quite full and even taking home leftovers due to the size of the appetizer alone but I tried the coconut tres leches which was tasty. The food overall was pricey but tasty. The flavors were bold (almost too much so for the duck) but I prefer bold over bland any day of the week. Good spot. I can see why it is popular even outside of their wonderful rum selection. Side note: Special thanks to Derek for liking my old photo and showing I never reviewed this spot.

Yelp
Went for a Sunday brunch with a group. As based on their website this brunch was set up as a Prix fixe menu, choose from a list of apps and a list of entrees. Two drinks included. The desserts were sold separately. So hey the space itself was pretty nice. Restaurant is large and well decorated. There is a large downstairs area as well that wasn't being utilized when we were there but would be very intimate dining when in use. The food itself was delicious. I had some of the croquettas de calamar and the albóndigas as a starter. Go with the croquettes. The churrasquito was similarly good. My issue with all of the plates save maybe what I saw from the French toast is that there just isn't enough food with the meal overall - I had eaten not that long before showing up at the restaurant and still felt like I was left wanting more. The coconut tres leche was not good and I would honestly avoid it if you actually like tres leche. Did not hit the way a traditional piece does. Separately ordered an Empire Found drink. I actually love mezcal and rye but this drink also did not hit. Overall it was an ok meal but eat before and plan to go to an ice cream spot nearby after instead of the desserts here.

Sanjana D.

Yelp
Such a good place to go for bottomless brunch! The food was delicious, ambiance was super nice, and the service was AMAZING. I would definitely recommend going here, especially for a nice occasion. The mimosas are really good too.

Nancy C.

Yelp
This s restaurant is gorgeous! And the food is delicious. I had the meatball appetizer and they were by far the best meatballs I've ever had. I also had a vegetable dish but the meatballs were my favorite. The space gets a lot of natural light as it has floor to ceiling windows which I loved. I look forward to returning

Yelp
We had an insane experience at Tasca a few weeks ago. My purse was stolen out from under the table while dining on the patio. We informed the manager on staff and asked if we could view the security camera footage. He told us to view the footage we would need to call the police. We didn't want to call the cops because, it's New York, there is no way that the bag is coming back, but we called 311 per his request. We were then transferred to 911 by the dispatcher and we waited for the police to arrive. From the time that my bag was stolen until the time the police came (about 40 minutes) the manager never came out to speak to us, we had to inform him of the situation and then he ignored us. The waitress just kept bringing us the check and not asking if we needed anything, food, water, etc. Once the police came we filled out a report while they watched the footage with the manager. After that, the owner came outside and started yelling at us. At one point he got on his knees and asked my boyfriend "if this is how he likes it"....it was shocking. I started filming after that because he was clearly unhinged. He never apologized until I started filming him, at which point he started going off on a tangent about how he needs to support his 3 kids from the restaurant. As a former member of the service industry, I understand the impact of poor reviews, but this situation was handled WILDLY unprofessionally. The police had to calm the owner down while he was screaming at us. I can only imagine how the owner treats his staff if this is how he handles a guest who was just robbed on his property. I still wonder why he was so upset, since his manager was the one who told us to call the police. The whole ordeal was extremely upsetting and embarrassing.

Michy N.

Yelp
Ambience was good for a date, service was 75/100 and the food and drink were not what we expected.

Erin O.

Yelp
Went here for dinner midweek. Food was excellent. Great apps including empanadas. The beef one was exceptional. Also had a salmon crudo app which was on special. Many specials at this place. Fish is a specialty I went with halibut which came with an awesome leek based sauce. My friend had a steak and it came with an awesome sauce too. Desert was a banana bread pudding in a sugary sauce again. This place has sauce!! Service nice and friendly quite attentive. Place is big with a nice seating area downstairs as well as a private room highly recommended go check it out.

Yelp
A friend of ours and her fiancee were coming up to see the Glamonatrix (Dita von Teese) show and they invited us to go with them. Unfortunately her fiancee couldn't make it so we had an extra seat at the theater where we could put our bags. I made reservations for this restaurant based on the NYC Restaurant Week website. It was within a 10min walk from the theater. We intended to do restaurant week however, on the day of, I got held up at work and had to Uber. My husband, who works from home, was able to go with our friend to the restaurant and I met them there. They had tried to find another place when I was running late, but I think this is a place where if you make a reservation, you have to put a credit card down, so we stuck with the place. Besides, I was only 12min late. However, given the show started at 8, we didn't have time to do restaurant week. My friend and I shared the octopus appetizer which was really good. She said it was some of the best octopus she's ever had. We also had oysters. My husband doesn't like octopus or oysters so he didn't have any. For entree, I went with the seafood stew that came with saffron rice (it's on the side in its own bowl and it's a good portion), my husband got the skirt steak, and she got the duck. My friend said she doesn't get to eat duck often and seized the opportunity to eat it here and she said it was extremely good. I also tried some and I have to say it is super tender and flavorful, the best duck I've had thus far. My husband's steak was also really good. My seafood stew was a lot more than I expected. The saffron rice comes in a separate bowl and I think you're supposed to scoop some rice and then some seafood, but I ate all the seafood first. My only complaint is that the rice and seafood stew was really salty. The seafood itself was incredibly fresh, but the broth it was in was too salty for my taste. The rice was also good, it was just salty. I wish we had the time for restaurant week but I'm glad we didn't change the restaurant because I was really impressed with the food. It is pricey but I think it's worth the price and also worth the trek to the UWS.

Yelp
My husband and I I went to eat at Tasca as we done many times before on November 3. When it came to order As we had done before we wanted to substitute the Yuca for tostones. Our waiter Rodrigo told that it could not be done. We explained that we have been there many times and not once they have stated " There are no substitutions" I mentioned a specific waitress and they (Rodrigo and the owner) threw her under the bus! Rodrigo said he was not as friendly as the female waitress. He continued to argue with us!! We decided not to stay for diner. The owner tried to convinced me that that is the policy of the restaurant. and defended Rodrigo. Not true! We have several men waiters that have complied with our substitutions without any hesitation. The owner insisted that the female waitress was told many times that there no substitutions. He wanted me to give him the name of a male server.(I guess he did not believe me) we would never asked for substitutions if they were accepted many times before. Even though the owner apologized, I did not feel it was a very sincere apology. There are hundreds of restaurants in NYC that treat customers with appreciation and respect! Respectfully ERiz

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Made a reservation for Friday evening. Ordered the white sangria and half a dozen oysters to start, then the grilled octopus appetizer and the paella for 2. Note that the paella takes ~45 minutes to make after the order is placed, as it is made to order, and everyone in your party must be present in order to place any orders for food. Great service overall and delicious food; we've come twice now and will definitely be back.

Yelp
The Service was amazing and amazing food. I appreciate that the bartender Ivan, Orlando and Rodrigo they made the experience worth the visit. They went above and beyond please say hello to them they are the best work crew ever. I know that the rest of the team also works like this but we did not get a chance to interact with them but how we were treated by Ivan, Orlando, and Rodrigo tells you a lot of how the restaurant operates.

Yelp
Tasca far exceeded my expectations for our Valentine's dinner. Upon entry there were red, pink and white balloons everywhere. We were greeted and seated immediately. They were offering a prefixe menu with options for every palette. I ordered the seafood bisque and babbbbbbbbbyyyy let me tell you something! DEVINE! For my main course I ordered the Argentinen skirt steak with yucca fries. My date ordered the sea bass and I can honestly say that everything we ordered including our drinks was perfect. They offered us a cucumber, mint and sherry chilled shot to clean our palettes between dishes. I honestly can't say enough about this place and I will definitely return. I would be remiss if I didn't mentioned our very attentive waiter George.

Yelp
Four of us had a great dinner at Tasca. The wine cellar had a very nice ambiance. The food was uniformly excellent. The wine list was interesting and fairly priced (we drank sparkling wine all night!). Service was friendly and solid. All-around good experience.

Yelp
If it was possible to leave 0 stars I would. Had a horrible experience eating at tasca. Management was dismissive, the paella was cold TWICE, desserts seemed like they came from a box. Very disappointing.

Yelp
Went here on 2/2 for dinner. The ambiance was nice and the food was very good. But the service was ATROCIOUS. We had a 6:45pm reservation and our food didn't arrive until after 9pm. The waitress blamed it on the kitchen being backed up (lots of tables weren't getting their food) but she did not offer us any sort of free drink or appetizer as an apology. We eventually got the wine taken off our bill but that was only after asking repeatedly and after she "had to ask her manager if she could could do that" (where was this manager to come to apologize to us for our 2+ hr wait for food?) I understand things happen and it's not always the server's fault, but the frankly ridiculously long wait for two small plates and a main course, and the lack of attempt to rectify the incredibly long wait for food, was really disappointing.

Yelp
Really cute and affordable bottomless brunch place in the upper west side. Came here after watching a half marathon and the owners let us in early after seeing us stand in the pouring rain. The sangrias were very tasty, and I would recommend the steak from the brunch menu. It was very soft and tender, which made it easy to chew.

Yelp
I made reservations for this spot, which was fairly easy to do. I was greeted by very friendly host and hostess. Loved that they had a boxes of toothpicks and matches (my favorite!). Once seated, we had a lot to catch up on but also choose from. They had an extensive wine list and they had restaurant week going on. They had oysters as well which was extremely delicious. We decided to move forward with the Restaurant Week menu $59 per person. I thought it was great presentation but food was not that great. Per the waiter's recommendation, I got Seta y Gambas. It came piping hot in a play plate. The flavors and mushrooms were delicious, but there were literally 3 tiny cut up pieces of shrimp. After taking Spanish for several years, I was pretty sure gambas meant shrimp, so when I didn't see any, I literally looked for it and realized that there were very few pieces of shrimp. Honestly, I never count or make a big deal, but it immediately made me think that they skimped out on the shrimp because I chose the restaurant menu. If that's the case, I'd be very disappointed in the staff and decision makers. Next course was the steak. The presentation was beautiful again and it was cooked perfectly and the sauces and veggies made the flavors come out. However, the dish came room temperature borderline cold. The yucca fries were a bit dry, but I may be biased since I'm not a huge fan of yucca. My friend had the salmon which was honestly way tastier. That was my original choice, but when I asked the waiter if I should get the chicken, steak and salmon, he suggested the steak. Last but not least -- the dessert. I ordered the passionfruit cheesecake, which came with a berry sorbet. The presentation was spectacular, but the cheesecake was just meh. The sorbet was the best part. The bathroom was downstairs and I saw a whole new dining area and in the way back, there was a private room with a fireplace. It looked so nice for an intimate party or dinner. All in all, I loved the ambiance and presentation (obviously haha), but the taste was just not there and didn't wow me, which is why I couldn't give a top notch score. I did go on a off day (Tuesday), so maybe it'll be better on weekend.

Yelp
We loved the food, service and ambiance during their happy hour. We would definitely return for happy hour or dinner the next time we are in New York. Great Spanish/Carribean vibe.

Yelp
Great food with filling portions! The desserts were slightly too sweet to appreciate the flavors, but carefully crafted nonetheless. Unfortunately, the air was filled with various smells as we ate ranging from coffee to a mysterious stench. Otherwise, the experience was enjoyable.

Yelp
Great new addition to the UWS. Chill Ambience , Perfect Playlist , Attentive Staff! We brought our own wine. The cork fee was a reasonable $35. I literally wanted to try at least five or six things, actually there was nothing on the menu that didn't sound superb. We decided on the octopus small plate and a paella. Words can't describe it. This is a delightful fusion mix of Caribbean and Spanish cuisine, and I can say this after living in both regions. It made me miss the islands! I'm going back until I've tried every last dish!

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised! Food and drinks were really delicious. Service was also very good (I was nervous, due to some reviews). I also liked the atmosphere, which is chill yet upscale. It's not cheap, but I didn't feel taken advantage of. I'm surprised this place isn't more of a go-to for Upper West Siders. I think it gives Elea a run for its money.
