Houston’s Best Food Trucks | Eater Houston

"Columbian and Venezuelan street snacks can be found at this good ol’ Washington Avenue standby. In addition to arepas and cheesy tequeños, there are hearty finds like the choriperro, a plate of Columbian chorizo, queso blanco, chicharrones, and more. Be sure to be on the lookout for their arepa of the month, an ever-changing rotation of arepas with fillings from fried plantains to Venezuelan hand cheese. Tasty Arepa also has a new location in Richmond." - Megha McSwain

A Washington Avenue standby for Venezuelan and Colombian street foods — arepas, tequeños, patacones, and choriperros. Frequently recommended on Eater Houston maps and loved by late-night crowds.

This arepa food truck is phenomenal! Wendy and her team make flavor bombs in the shape of crispy pockets filled with incredible ingredients. Good Food. Great Value!

Super friendly, very attentive and most of all delicious. We got an order of fries that had seasoning and my son couldnt eat them. They gave us a free order of fries with just salt just for him. The arepas are delicious! Highly recommend and will continue to come back.

I have tried many arepa places and I was disappointed. I was told my order would only take 15 minutes, only for my order to take 30 minutes. Mind you, I only got 1 Tasty arepa and I paid close to $10, NEVER AGAIN! I have paid that for 2 Arepas at other places. Food wasn’t even hot, more so warm. Also, a gentleman that I’m almost a 100 percent ordered after me, got his food before I did and I was the first one there. Someone apologized to me, but at that point I was just hungry and irritated because I wanted my food. I normally give rage reviews, but this place wasn’t it for me, but maybe you will decide to try it out and like it. Never getting my money again.

fast service, fantastic flavors, great recipe!!! The beef was a bit hard but the flavors made up for it. Typically the beef is very soft and tender so i think i just came too late in the night. I love the plantains in it

The girl who served us really didn’t want to be there, no smile, no hello, rushed us to order .. our hot dog was ok, my husband says the sausage was bad quality and cold. I wouldn’t eat here again because of the service.

Food was surprisingly good and unique. I'm no expert on Colombian food but from a tourist point of view it was tasty. Service is extremely friendly and the salsa music that was playing was the perfect addition to the food. Had a Colombian cola drink that was very refreshing and had a strong caramel taste. Go here for a inexpensive and quick tour of South American food.

Very nice people, I love the Latino music and the food is tasty, indeed very delicious. I have never try an arepa before, I order the Mexican arepa, very yummy but be careful with the hot sauce. That sauce is hot af. Also each arepa goes around $8 dollar and up so if you eat more than 3 lol, will look kinda expensive. But again, they are very delicious.

If you want authentic Colombian street food, this is your spot. Honestly I was shock when I saw they had the Colombian hotdogs… most people don’t know about them unless you are from a specific region in the country. They did not disappoint, soo happy to find a place that has this kind of food, they definitely know what they are doing.
