Fresh Greek seafood, grilled octopus, lemon potatoes, & dips

"The Greek restaurant in Astoria makes for a lively Monday dining destination for lunch and dinner, especially when it comes to flavorful seafood dishes like filleted fish and grilled octopus. The patio is pleasant on a nice day, too." - Melissa McCart
"We aren’t going to weigh in on what we think the absolute best Greek place is in Astoria, because it would sort of be like choosing the best pizza in NYC (tough and inevitably controversial). That said, Taverna Kyclades is up there. Everything is served family-style here, and they specialize in seafood. You can get things like stuffed clams, several types of whole fish, and grilled octopus—or you can do some pork kebabs and lamb chops. This place gets busy, but they might pour you some free wine while you wait for your table." - bryan kim, neha talreja, sonal shah, will hartman
"Astoria has no shortage of dip specialists, but at this constantly busy Greek restaurant, you can start yammering while you wait for a table. Once seated in the white-and-blue dining room, turn your attention to their excellent tirokafteri, taramosalata, tzatziki, and skordalia, and always get an order of the lemon roasted potatoes. The complimentary galaktoboureko is a nice bonus." - will hartman, willa moore, ciera velarde, sonal shah
"Taverna Kyclades is one of Astoria’s best-loved Greek restaurants. Between the consistently excellent food and cozy, low key atmosphere, we’ve never had a bad experience here. Seafood is the specialty, and your order should be built around whatever whole fish sounds best with a side (or two) of tart, melt-in-your-mouth lemon potatoes. Bulk it out with a lot of sharable starters, like the assortment of dips, some charred greek sausage, and the complimentary galaktoboureko they drop at the end of the meal." - hannah albertine, bryan kim, neha talreja, carina finn koeppicus
"You will only find happy people here, and the Aegean-blue awning feels as essential to the neighborhood as traffic lights. This beloved Greek spot (with a second location in Bayside) is a lively one where the bustling kitchen is in view. Quick, straightforward servers may address you in Greek if you look the part—that’s just how local it gets here.Grab a seat on the enclosed patio for some serenity and get things going with garlicky and bubbling-hot crab-stuffed clams; or the cold, classic trio of powerful skordalia, cooling tzatziki and briny taramosalata served with toasted pita triangles. Order a side of horta (steamed escarole and dandelion) to accompany a plate of sweet and delicate mullets, served with a side of lemon potatoes." - Michelin Inspector
