SO HAPPY we ate breakfast here. Atmosphere was warm and comfortable. Service was PERFECT. Food was EXACTLY what we were hoping for. Biscuits and gravy was with bacon, so I was a little hesitant, but it delivered! Biscuits were delicious. Eggs were done perfectly. Bacon was not too limp and not too crisp. Coffee was hot and fresh and kept full. We almost went to a trendy breakfast joint with a 30 minute wait, elbow to elbow seating and the sound of dishes clanking. This was the right decision!! We will DEFINITELY be back.

A very chill hotel tavern, ideal for a sit-down meal or a cocktail at the bar. The Taylor burger was downright beautiful. Service is great, big props to Tyson at the bar. It's a bit inconvenient that the place closes down between breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but it's not so bad, especially in the evening.

Well, we didn’t read the reviews ahead of tonight. This place has potential, but of four dinners two were not edible. The other two were only fair to good. Ginger ale didn’t have any ginger (fountain down) A couple of entree items were not available tonight (Lemon-pepper Rockfish, Coffee Rubbed NY Steak) Their Pizza oven was No-Op. Salad was “gritty” texture (was unwashed??) Chicken was dark meat only. Barely no cranberries to be found. Service was barely okay, but slow for a mostly empty dinning room. No check in after food delivery. Table not bussed after mains eaten/rejected. Refund offered too late (bill already signed) Live and learn. We don’t recommend at all, and we won’t go back. Diner’s please do your homework first!

We were here for a small group business dinner meeting. The menu is broad. Prices were within the range of most downtown Portland restaurants. I liked everything and will bring my wife there soon because of the close proximity to Keller Auditorium.

First of all, Leif and the rest of the team here were phenomenal. Unfortunately, the food was rather, blah. Most things were tasty, but just not what I was hoping for. The southern fried chicken was more what I would call a chicken fried chicken. It was two boneless pieces, I believe thighs, that were breaded and fried really well, but then gravy was poured on top, making them soggy. If I had known I would have gotten the gravy on the side or skipped it all together, I don’t feel the gravy added to the dish at all. It was decent for a hotel restaurant, but there are definitely a plethora of excellent restaurants in the area for something a bit of a step up.

We ate there Saturday night. I'll start by saying that there were some minor issues with food coming out of the kitchen in a timely manner. Without asking the manager comped us half our bill. He was very professional about it stating that the service was not up to his standards. Beyond the timing issues, the staff was prompt and professional. The drinks were outstanding and the food was very good. We also liked the space. It is intimate with lots of windows. We expect going back soon.

Went in to check out the menu and was very pleased. Buck was very attentive and offered great advice on the drink and food selections. The food was amazing and I can't wait to come back.

Google
Went on Saturday night before starlight parade. Food was excellent some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. The drinks were outstanding. The service was top notch. I have no complaints only good things to say. We have stayed in the attached hotel many times and it’s the first time we tried the Tavern. It is a separate business from hotel. I liked it better than Swine & Moonshine, although the staff inside the swine are great. I found prices to be very reasonable and establishment very clean and a nice place to spend a few hours eating, drinking and being merry.

Yelp
Did some fancy bar crawling for my wedding anniversary and made a stop here for a drink and a snack. Got a couple of cocktails (Paper Crane and All in Time) which were really nice. They were both well-balanced and one had a house made thyme simple syrup which permeated the drink, in a good way. We got these Korean wings which were massive and came with a soy dipping sauce that was completely unnecessary because it was liquified and a mediocre flavor compared to the glaze on the wings. My recommendation is to have a side of that Korean sauce and omit the soy sauce backwash. I was not inebriated. I repeat, I was not drunk and I spilled my second drink. They made it again for free. Super cool, super kind bar staff, very attentive and personable. Would definitely come here again. Btw the inside is very spacious with high ceilings and lots of tables with windows. Not a dungeon-y, speakeasy vibe but more of a trendy, midday drinking Wallstreet happy hour feel.

Yelp
Well, that was disappointing. This establishment does NOT take allergies seriously. After making the server, manager and kitchen aware of a serious food allergy, they served us a plate with cross-contaminated food. When we pointed it out, as it was touching the rest of the food, thus contaminating it, they promptly said they would remake the burger. We declined. They brought out the new burger 90 seconds later, minus the cross contaminated food. Like???? That literally is the same burger. Allergies are serious. I don't like to complain about food, even if it's not good. But life threatening allergies that can easily be avoided should be taken seriously. So, in short, this place sucks. Save your money.

Yelp
Had a res, seated quickly - cool. 30 minutes later we had our first cocktail. Told server I had a hard stop for an event, needed to get our order in. Finally took our order 10 mins later. Food starts showing up after we had been there 50 minutes, and they forgot our salad. You are lucky I left 10%, I won't be back.

Yelp
Got a chance to come here during pizza week, and this is another place that we would have never known existed before pizza week, but their pizza was so unique and looked so good that we added it to the list, and we were floored at how good it was. The blend of thai ingredients was awesome, and the pizza had a good size to it. Service was fast and friendly, we came in at off hours and our waitress was very attentive and prompt. We liked the look of the hotel and restaurant enough that we decided to check out the pricing for the hotel and we'll be spending a night there soon! Unfortunately we have some good examples of pizza week gone wrong, but this is a pizza week gone great, and I'm glad Taylor Street participated!!!

Yelp
Decided to try prior to a show. After waiting 20 minutes for drinks, we told the server we only had an hour and wanted to make sure we had enough time to order and eat. We were assured we had plenty of time. It took 45 minutes to receive part of our order and 50 for the other half. We had to scoff down what we could and leave the rest on the table. Very disappointing. I wish the server would have told us our time-frame was too limited. If so, I would have come back another time for dinner. Unfortunately, I doubt any of us will return.

Yelp
My family came here for the Thanksgiving buffet in 2023. It was fantastic! Every course was delicious. The Thanksgiving classics were all there, but they also had some modern twists, like a cheese platter, delicious soups, and a bread pudding.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and wine across from the tavern. I loved the truffle fries we were recommended and the server was nice and very funny. I ordered the Tavern Burger and it was cooked to perfection, but those truffle fries had to be the icing on the cake with that sauce to dip them in. Their bloody Mary's are killer too. I recommend coming here with a date, after work colleagues or friends.

Yelp
Good food and wonderful service. Salad was really good, and both the bartender and server were very accommodating.

Yelp
The restaurant is open for brunch on Sunday. The service was good and it was not crowded. The dining room is clean and well maintained. The food was mostly well prepared. Ricotta pancakes were delicious as well as brioche served with the crab cake sandwich. The crab cake was huge, but it was very much overcooked and dry. The portions were big, the prices were decent. it probably depends on what you order, but the food was OK.

Yelp
Food was amazing and service was outstanding and super fast! I will definitely be coming back, thanks for the experience. Terimisu was awesome.

Yelp
We had the Thanksgiving Buffet. Good variety of options on the buffet. The turkey was very good! The service was excellent - the chef and server ensured that our food allergens were accommodated and surpassed our expectations.

Yelp
I was hesitant to come here because of some of the previous reviews but we just had an amazing time here. The waitstaff, food and drinks were amazing. I had the seared ahi and it was perfect. Staff could not have been better and ambiance was perfect.

Yelp
Ultimate snobbery! I was staying upstairs in the paramount hotel. So, I, stopped in for a quick bite. The assistant manager was extremely rude. He told me they were preparing for a private party in an hour and a half and I needed to leave and eat somewhere else. I asked them for suggestions. He said just walk out the door and you'll see the elephant deli. I asked, is it to the left, right, or across the courtyard? He said just walk out the door open your eyes and you'll see it. I walked out the door looked around did not see it! With that kind of snobbery from the assistant manager, I'm surprised they get any clients at all!

Yelp
Here's a picture of the "seared" ahi tuna they didn't refund us for. I know it looks like a well done steak but it was their ahi tuna

Yelp
Food was really good! I had fried chicken my wife had tuna. Both excellent, prepared really well. Fun place to be, nice vibe. Our server was great, responsive. All the staff was helpful. And just fun. Made us laugh.

Yelp
Went the second week it opened. Menu is varied and interesting but not huge. I expected a brewpub but instead the menu was more "nice downtown restaurant". (E.g. only one burger on menu). The salmon dish was excellent and my wife enjoyed the veggie pizza. Friendly staff, nice setting. Hope they do well!

Yelp
I was staying at the Paramount Hotel and had breakfast one morning at the Taylor St Tavern. I had the classic breakfast, two eggs, sausage and fruit. Eggs and fruit were fine but the sausage was literally inedible because of the salt content. We told the waiter and he agreed, he said the sausage was chicken sausage and not good. Why would you serve something you know is not good? I don't understand this. Doesn't anybody care anymore?

Evelyn Gerardo C.

Yelp
Very nice service. The restaurant itself is nicely-sized and therefore not noisy. Casual setting with definite touch of class. I had the Cobb salad which was fresh, delicious, and the right amount of food. Friends also ordered the Brussels sprouts side dish. Wonderful! Will go again.

Yelp
We went here for the special Thanksgiving menu. The service was excellent and they tried their best to accommodate our requests. But the menu was SO disappointing. the appetizers were not appealing, the salads were skimpy, the only thing good was the tender turkey! The sides were reviewed by out table like this: Stuffing was dry and so garlicy we could hardly eat it! Sweet potatoes were good, but bacon should not have been part of the receipe. Beets were good. Deserts a total disappointment, the bread pudding was as hard as a rock, and flavorless. I hope someone else enjoyed this experience more than we did!

Jeff R.

Yelp
I started coming for lunch the first week they opened, food was incredible. But the past month or so food has gone considerably down hill.

K F.

Yelp
Still looks good since Swank left; however the kitchen needs someone watching the prep. The two medium rare burgers came out medium. The fries were truffle fries that were supposed to be extra crisp and they might be better described as Parmesan fries because there wasn't a trace of truffle oil! Lovely setting, but expect better than that when we go out for dinner.
