TCL Chinese Theatre

I came to this theater for an Prime studio movie 🍿 screening of the movie G20 (must see movie). The staff was an amazing from the point of entrance to the concession stand to the seating assistants. The seats are comfortable and they do recline. This is a Historical Museum/Theatre nestled in the heart of Hollywood. You can also put your hands and footprints in the cements of so many stars. The royal red and gold colors are throughout the venue with beautiful ceiling to floor drapery. There are a few statues inside of the theatre. This is a very large theatre. The massive medallion.which covers most of the theatre ceiling is exquisite. The sound system in this venue is awesome. This venue is a touch of old Hollywood meets modern day. This a great place to see any 🎥 movie.

Went to watch F1 Movie 🎬 starring Brad Pitt. Was super excited as it was my first time in the Chinese Theater. As soon as you enter, you will see various costumes from popular films and the concession stand right in front. The theatre has only one screen and quite spacious. The downside, it felt stuffy, not much ac air flow, the seats felt a bit dirty and had quite a musty smell. Overall great screen but could use an upgrade and good clean.

Not exactly the most unique locations. But nice to visit. You will be accosted by numerous individuals trying to get you to attend different variety shows and TV show tapings. There is history here. But it is very lethargic. They do videotape the show, America's Got Talent, here and they make a HUGE display of the judges arriving at the theater.

The TCL Chinese Theatre is one of the most famous buildings in Los Angeles. It was built in 1927 and is best known for its entrance hall, where more than 150 stars have left their imprints in the cement (Shirley Temple, Clark Gable, etc.) and for the hundreds of premieres of the best films that have been held there. There is hardly a Hollywood actor who has not walked on the red carpet that is permanently laid out at its entrance. The facade of the building is decorated in a breathtaking ancient Chinese style.

If the itinerary allows, watch a film in the historic cinema as it’s gorgeous and has such a rich history. Be sure to check online or ask the box office for sessions times in the main theatre for that Hollywood experience as the other newer cinemas don’t have the history. The foyer of the original theatre includes displays with film memorabilia and the foot and handprints at the front of the theatre are always fun to explore.

I recently had the pleasure of watching Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii at the legendary TCL Chinese Theatre, and it was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Seeing such an iconic concert film on the massive screen, with immersive surround sound, made it feel like a real live performance — absolutely mesmerizing. Before the screening, my friend and I stopped at the theatre’s bar, had a couple of beers, and relaxed for a bit. The bar area was cozy and stylish — a perfect place to unwind before heading into the theater. The entire atmosphere of the TCL Chinese Theatre is something special. Despite being one of the most iconic cinemas in Hollywood, it still feels intimate and welcoming. I especially loved the blend of historic charm and modern comfort. This visit was a memorable experience, and I’m already looking forward to coming back.

TCL Chinese Theatre is a stunning piece of Hollywood history, known for its intricate Chinese-inspired architecture and the legendary handprints and footprints of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Even if you’re not watching a movie, walking around and seeing the handprints of icons like Marilyn Monroe, Tom Hanks, and Audrey Hepburn is a surreal experience. It does get crowded, especially with tourists taking photos, but the history and ambiance make it a must-visit spot in Los Angeles!

Really awesome looking theater with a ton of amazing history. It's in a very touristy area but that is to be expected. It is still a must visit if in the area for the first time.

I've had the privilege of watching movies here (between the IMAX and the multiplex) that I never thought I would be able to watch on the big screen. From all the volunteering and theater assisting at film festivals here, I've grown used to telling guests about where the restrooms are at the multiplex. It's a variation of "downstairs below the TVs next to the bar", or if they're exiting House 6 "go straight, make a left, then another left". Sometimes it can get pretty hectic queuing up for screenings, but the teams do their best fighting these proverbial fires. The really popular ones can extend to hundreds of people out the hallways and downstairs. It's worth the experience though. I've had really insightful conversations with other film enthusiasts where you can clearly see their giddiness after a screening. To be honest not much of a review, just me taking a little trip down memory lane.... We walked over as we heard there were lots of celebrities hand/footprints here. Unfortunately we couldn't make it to any of the showings here. Large crowd here. We all walked and stood around in the courtyard looking down at the various hand/footprints. I like to step on the side to compare the feet prints with my shoes, and sometimes stepping in to see. Very cool experience.

My first time inside the theatre! I've walked passed the front grand entrance plenty of times before so I was excited to see something here! We came here for a ticketed event to a screening of Interior Chinatown, streaming on Hulu. The event was followed by a Q&A with the Author and Exec producer Charles Yu. The Theatre itself has clear signage and is pretty large. The interior of the particular auditorium we were in had that older theater charm but was clean. The screen was clean and the audio was also very crisp. No complaints there. Event the Q&A, the mics were fine and the space felt intimate even with 100+ people. The staff were extremely friendly. I got a small popcorn which had the perfect saltiness but the butter dispenser wasn't working. Besides popcorn, they have other movie theater classics like hot dogs and nachos. Overall a pleasant experience!

A perennial favorite for Hollywood movie watching. Refreshed and updated, this grand dame whisks one back to a by-gone era of Hollywood glam once you step foot onto the property. Every time I watch a movie here, I am flooded with a sense of nostalgia of this many movie premieres featuring Hollywood's elite whom have been there before me. A very cool's place to just imagine you are back during the time of a great movie premiere with all the glitz and glamor.

This is for seeing the movie Kraven The Hunter on opening night for 12-13-24 at my favorite IMAX theatre. There was not that many people to see the movie but enjoyed it and the comfortable surroundings of the evening. The picture quality is just great and the sound you can really feel not only through your seat but also your feet. Looking forward to returning soon to see the next big action movie.

I often say one must experience various Los Angeles landmarks "at least once". Grauman's Chinese Theatre should be enjoyed as often as possible, revered as the movie palace it is. The Chinese 6 cinemas are nice quality - seats are fine, screen is fine. Décor is attractive. But they pale in comparison to majesty of the main screen, the spectacular original Grauman's Chinese. IMAX screen, plush seats, lavish Chinese motif sparkling over every inch of the lobby, cinema, and even the restrooms - the ladies' room features a grand vanity room with mirrors and velvet benches. Though they do special screenings sometimes - I've seen "The Wizard Of Oz" in 3D on the main screen, as well as a showing of "The Birds" featuring a Q&A with Tippi Hedren - to see the original Grauman's cinema, you'll have to either want to see the current blockbuster, or pay for a tour of the cinema. The Cinerama Dome is a loss every cinephile still grieves, yet it couldn't touch the opulence of Grauman's. It is certainly a pièce de résistance of the movie capital of the world.

The TCL Chinese Theatre is a must-visit spot for any tourist in Hollywood. We decided to take the tour, and it was an excellent choice--only $10 per person, which felt like a great value for what we got. Our tour guide was awesome, sharing tons of fun and interesting facts about the theatre's history and its significance in the film industry. Of course, the famous handprints outside are very cool to see up close. There's something special about standing where so many iconic stars have left their mark. Overall, it was a fun and informative experience, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

This iconic theatre on Hollywood Blvd always has a crowd of people in front of it. That is because there are almost two hundred Hollywood celebrity handprints, footprints, and autographs in the concrete in front of the theatre. It also has a 90 foot tall pagoda structure in front of the building. Believe it or not, some people don't even know that the TLC Chinese Theatre actually shows movies and seats around 900 people. This place is historic because many of the handprints are from celebrities that were stars during the Golden Age of Hollywood. TCL Chinese Theatre has also been known as Grauman's Chinese Theatre and Mann's Chinese Theatre in the past. American entrepreneur and showman Sid Grauman established this place in 1927. Marilyn Monroe's handprint is probably the most famous one because of how much darker it is compared to the other ones. Some celebrities have imprinted objects like cigars, boots, magic wands and earrings in the concrete. In front of the theatre is the historic Hollywood Walk of Fame if you want to check that out. This area can be a little shady at night because of all of the homeless people walking around and the costume characters bugging people for money for a photo. TLC Chinese Theatre has hosted a few Academy Awards ceremonies and has premiered big movies like the original Star Wars in 1977.

Oppenheimer IMAX and then they gave us complimentary tickets to watch any movie so we watched Barbie! Epic movie day and made memorable. I like this classic Chinese Hollywood theatre. It's a nice change of atmosphere. What better way to watch Oppenheimer and Barbie than in this theatre all in one day!

For sure this has a lot of history. It may be the most famous theater there is. TCL Chinese Theatre is an important part of Hollywood and there's always something there going on. Easy to forget mentioning it still shows movies. You have to get tickets way in advance and of course these are pricy. A pretty cool looking building. It's a part of the Ovation Hollywood complex. This is a big shopping center that also has the Dolby Theatre. A lot of history about the building. It hosted the Academy Awards from 1944 to 1946. Area in front of the building may be more famous than the theater itself. It's where tons of celebrities have left their marks literally in the concrete, writing their names and leaving handprints in this. Classic. There's even one of the slabs signed by the entire cast of Star Trek. Best way to get here is by avoiding cars. It's good using public transportation because it's close to a Metro Station. The rest of the shopping center has food options as well as good views of the Hollywood Sign and whatever.

It's a nice tourist attraction of the place!! There are so many foot prints of famous peeps Fun to look around and taking pictures! Check it out! :)

Good theater. Love the much cheaper tickets and lots to do in the area shopping, food and drinks wise. (I usually get snacks prior) as water alone is $7.

I finally got a chance to visit the Chinese Theatre to watch Deadpool and Wolverine. This iconic venue in Hollywood is an awesome place to catch a movie. The theater is spacious, with plenty of seating, and the popcorn was delicious and reasonably priced. There's ample parking available both on the street and in nearby parking garages. Overall, it was a great experience, whether you're a local or just visiting Hollywood.

The seats are super comfortable and felt like the screen and sound made for a great IMAX experience. Yummy popcorn. The whole vibe is fun with costumes from movies inside. The women's bathroom has a retro feel with little chairs in front of the mirrors for touching up makeup. A fun Hollywood experience for visitors or people who live here in LA.

Can't believe I haven't reviewed the famous Chinese Theatre till now, such an emblematic building for the city. Everyone who visits Hollywood passes by it and takes photos of it. It is an arhitectural jewel of the city and one of the few left historic working theaters in the city, a dying breed, even if this is the capital of moviemaking, we don't know how to value and preserve its history! If you can watch a movie here, it's a nice treat, it is well preserved, with beautiful decor, you will feel immersed in the glory time of Hollywood and its glitzy premieres. Not cheap admission, not the best movie selection. But just to say you went and have that cool experience. I usually wait till something a tad better is playing to revist. Subway is an easy way to get here, otherwise, park at Ovation. The theater opened in 1922, build for a premiere as they used to and it hosted a few Academy Awards in here. A must for a Hollyood visit!

This review is for the theaters upstairs. The place was empty on a Saturday afternoon, but all the employees working there were kind and personable. I grabbed some snacks, but was bummed they weren't servicing alcohol yet. My movie theater was clean and pretty empty. Seats were comfortable enough and the picture quality and sound were great. I'm lucky to have this place within walking distance and with tons of places to eat nearby it's a great way to spend a few hours.

This is the famous TCL Chinese Theatre where they have movie premiers and celebrities get their handprints done. We were driving by and it was blocked off. One of the stars was getting their handprints. We wondered who it was and Nadine told me to get a video of it. They were having a premiere of the movie Under The Sky and the star of the movie, Yoshiki, was getting his handprints. Honestly, I've never heard of him or this movie. Anyways, the whole area was blocked off so I didn't get to see any of the handprints on the ground. This was my second time here, so luckily I got to see it the first time.

This is 1 of the tourist sites located in the 'City of Hollywood,' CA. It used to have a different them than 'TCL Chinese Theatre ' but I think it used to be called 'Mann Chinese Theater,' decades ago. Any ways, you can find some carved names of famous movie characters such as those from Star Wars. When I last visited this place, took a pic of R2D2 and Yoda....but they were on old phone..... The 4 star review was due to parking issues....ain't easy to park anywhere in 'Hollywood,' CA., at all.

This is for the main theater only that hold the 70 MM screen. If you are not going to the main theater that has the 70 MM screen, I would not bother. The place is crowded, not clean and filled with people taking photos of the cement with the names in it and they don't seem to care if they push or knock you over. Now, as to the main theater. There is only one and you will know when you look up the movie you want to see. The other theaters are smaller and not comfortable. This main theater is beautiful. It has all the old art deco that was the pride of the Chinese for decades. They have redone all the seats and there is not a bad seat in the house. Each row is lifted so you can see and the backs of the chairs go back. They are super comfortable. The concessions are nothing to write home about. They are the same as any movie house. They are pricey and not great. The service is super nice. The sound is great and the picture is amazing. We saw Oppenheimer there and are so happy we did. We will be back for another great movie like this one, but as to the smaller theaters that are now part of the Chinese Theater, we will pass. If you are a tourist, your wallet is in your front pocket. Take all the photos you want but be considerate of others. Have a great time.

4++ one of the most famous and iconic movie theaters in LA and arguably the world. This place has hosted numerous premieres and due to its location in the heart of Hollywood, it gets a lot of foot traffic in the area as well. I think I've only seen movies here twice. The first time I went was for the movie premiere of Rob Zombie's Halloween. I believe this was before some major renovations they did a while back. My second time and recent visit was to watch Oppenheimer in 70 mm film, since this was one of three locations in the general area that you can watch it. I went a few weeks after opening weekend, late on a weeknight, so the theater was pretty empty and the concessions were efficient and easy to get with minimal wait. The folks behind the counter were friendly. The design/architecture of the place itself is pretty amazing. The IMAX large screen theater was huge and looking up to see the ceiling was cool. There's definitely a cool factor feeling you have while watching a movie here. And I've watched a lot of movies in the theater. My biggest gripe about this place is probably that the seats were a little uncomfortable. I'm not sure if it's because I'm a little bigger or my particular seat, but when you sit down and lean back, it kind of went a little too far back, so I was staring down at the screen. In order to anchor my way towards the front of the seat, I had to do some weird crisscross applesauce thing with my legs. This would pull my weight forward. As a big movie buff, I definitely would recommend checking this place out and watching a movie here. At least just to experience it. I would go back, but I just don't love going to this area of town because of the crowdedness. To no fault of the theater.

I had always wanted to go to the famed Chinese Theater, and WOW - it did not disappoint. First of all, you absolutely have to peruse around the front outdoor area, to see the handprints/footprints from throughout film history (my favorite was Donald Duck's LOL) The exterior of the theater has Chinese inspired architecture with pointed spires and a large dragon etching above the front door. Very photo worthy and gorgeous! Once you're inside, there is more film history with a few exhibits of screen worn costumes from the likes of Judy Garland and Jack Nicholson (behind glass of course). That was super neat to see while we waited for our movie to start. We saw a movie in theater 7, the one that plays IMAX features and hosts all the movie premieres - it is HUGE! The screen is 94x46 and it houses over 900 people. When we went, it was in the middle of the week and not for a very good/popular movie so we were one of only a few groups of people in this giant theater (we didn't care about the movie, we just wanted to experience the TCL IMAX) The ceiling is gorgeous in its architecture and design too. It's so intricate and colorful, while still being classic looking and very fancy. I took way too many photos of just the ceiling :-P As movie people, this was a religious experience, even though the film we saw wasn't the best. If you're a film lover, do yourself a favor and make this stop if you're in the area!

An iconic piece of Hollywood history that is well worth a stop if you're visiting Los Angeles. We didn't go inside, but spent a good bit of time looking at the footprints and handprints of countless Hollywood icons from today and yesterday. I also walked away with a Fun Fact: I have the same side feet as Dick VanDyke

This is an iconic theatre but with an average experience. It's old and you smell it, and there's not much by way of accoutrements. I did love that they had a full-ish bar but there was no food beyond standard popcorn/candy. It's cool to have this theater, I just wish it had some more upkeep. The screen is also not huge by any modern standards and the best thing about watching Dune in 70mm IMAX was that the sound was great but otherwise I would have been better at my local IMAX theater that has more to make the experience. I'm glad I went once but nothing there will keep me coming back. Sidenote: I was in seat U406 and the guy in front of me was not particularly tall but I had to deal with his head covering the bottom of the screen which was particularly ugh.

Theatre review: The Chinese Theatre visit was a fantastic experience! Walking into Hollywood, I was immersed in the glamour surrounding the Model House Premiere, feeling like a shining star. Parking was a breeze, secure, and conveniently located in the same facility--a major advantage. Remember, the parking garage closes at 11 pm, but the attentive staff will send you a text if you're not there in time. The venue was spotless, with a spacious theatre and incredibly comfortable seating. The sound quality was like a concerto, with clear and crisp vibrations enhancing the experience. The atmosphere was electrifying, filled with young vibrant stars ready to take on the world. If you're looking for the perfect theatre to showcase your next blockbuster, the Chinese Theatre is your venue. Walking out of the venue, I felt completely safe and secure. As we walked over each Hollywood star on the sidewalk, we reminisced about all the movies they represented, deepening our appreciation for the cinematic world around us.

Nice to visit and see a movie when one is in the area. The imax was nice but the sound was impressive! Watched Dune 2 and was worth getting to Hollywood early and watching the film in this theater. I'd come back to watch a matinee.

It's opening week for the next Indiana Jones tent pole installment... We HIA !!! You HIA!!! Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.... I'm a kid again ... and I can't believe it's been over 4 decades since Raiders !!! Harrison Ford is definitely bringing it at 80!!??? Yea you heard right... he's 80 and still snapping his whip; jumping on trains; and jumping out of airplanes; not to mention spelunking; deep diving; and a myriad of like 100 other stunts... Magic of Hollywood Baby!!! Phoebe Waller Bridge as his God Daughter is special and brings the comedy and sexyness all Indiana heroines are "required" to bring... Mads Mikkelsen kills it as the Nazi Antagonist out for blood and the Archimedes' DIAL.... There's mystery ... suspense... thrills! ...and I'm not gonna mention too much for fear of spoilers ... but this installment brought me back again ... I'm 10 years old all over again and I'm sucking down on my Icee and forklifting fistfulls of popcorn down my throat... it's a sight out of Little Shop of Horrors....people ....IM EATIN HIA...!!! GET INTO MY BELLY!!! ...the previews have all played out... and John Williams music is drowning the Theater...I manage to finish my large popcorn bag in the first 10 min of the movie... otherwise I'd be disturbing my fellow Cineastas!!! Yea I'm back!!! WE BACK!!! ... BABY!!! PS Peanut M n M's as back up munitions...in case my ginormous bag of popcorn doesn't hold me over ... it's a two and half hour movie ...so we came prepared! Somebody crack this WHIP ALREADY!!! This is Incredible.

The cost of movies is skyrocketing, I hear you. But I still am ALWAYS willing to pay more to help preserve these treasures, these beautiful, huge, ornate movie theatres. They're a part of LA and film history. This is the best theatre to see a film in. Love it!

If you are visiting Hollywood, or live here, and haven't been here to see a movie yet you must. It's historic and in general, a great theater. Seats are pretty comfy, concessions are a decent price, the screen and audio are top of the line. You can't go wrong here, plus the design of the inside is beautiful.

What a hidden gem amongst the chaotic streets of Hollywood. Went here to see a special screening and the IMAX sound was !mind-blowing! It is an incredibly charming theater. The bathrooms deserve a recognition as well.

ETHAN, YARELI, JOSUE, JULIE,AND KEIRA WERE ALL SUCH WONDERFULL .. MY WIFE AND I WENT To the movies this evening and during the movie, there was a fire alarm, my wife. And I were very scared because of certain situations that have been happening lately. But the crew made us feel very comfortable. The most amazing experience here at the Chinese theater ever.

Finally after 9 years living here I watched a movie there. Doesn't matter if you are local or tourist. The place is gorgeous, go to the restroom! So beautiful. The cinema is comfortable, the chair is reclined. Have an experience in this place once in your life. Pay attention in on details bog the ceiling. I love to be a tourist in my second home.

I went to see Despicable Me 4 this afternoon in 4D. It was such a great experience. I love how the theater feels classy and nostalgic as you walk through and I loved the costumes and photos when I walked in. The theater itself was very clean and well maintained. I am a huge fan of the 4D experience and loved how the seats were not only comfortable but moved to fit the action sequences of the film. I loved the addition of the strobe lights and scents and it was such a memorable experience. I was able to experience the film in a way that goes beyond what most cinemas have! I also appreciated that it wasn't too crowded and the other guests acted respectfully.

This was really cool and fun to see. We really enjoyed it and had a good time see all the hands. Probably the best place about going to the Chinese Theater is film legends leaving their prints and other trademarks behind. Definitely worth checking out and seeing all the things it has.

I recently came here to watch The Fall Guy. I wanted to try a different movie theater and decided to come here. A ton of cool history at this place. The prices of tickets were a bit more expensive than I was expecting, the prices of the snacks were high for what you get and the seats were TERRIBLE. They look comfortable at first but they don't recline and you're sitting upright for 90+ minutes. My back was suffering after leaving this place. I can appreciate the history out front, but I doubt I'll be back anytime soon.

Went to see Deadpool & Wolverine today in 4D At the point of ticket check no 3D glasses were offered. We bought our snacks and went up to screen 2 and there was nobody handing out 3D glasses. We wondered if many they weren't needed for this screening. When the trailers started and they announced to put on your glasses I had to go out and fish around in the used / dirty glasses container for a pair as there were no staff members upstairs. Not exactly a great experience.

look... should be five stars... maybe to some it is... this IS my favorite theater. period. i tell everyone. it's beautiful, historic, well maintained etc etc... but there is a specific practice here that makes me irrationally irritated. WHY the flying f*** are the concession stands / bar closed for the final showings of the night??? we pay the same ticket prices as people who come earlier in the day and are rewarded with the convenience of the concessions. why are the people who come late getting punished? they can't handle having ONE person there to at least be able to sell a water? why not get a jump start and close the bathrooms too and turn off the lobby lights? What's your problem?? it's giving cheap, penny pinching ownership and it's insulting to the late night customers. why is our experience diminished. for the SAME ticket price!!! so lame. i truly hate it.

We stopped here briefly as part of our Hollywood tour with Anaheim tour company. I have been wanting for years to see it and all the famous footprints. Well would you believe the theater was closed during our visit and we were told to come back tomorrow. Sorry, leaving town. The man was kind enough to clear some of the construction going on so I could catch a couple of the famous footprints from where I stood. He pointed out Graham Nash who was the original voice of Donald Duck. The Chinese theater looks nice from a distance but I'm not sure I would pay to see a movie here. Primarily this is a tourist trap area and you are surrounded by folks trying to sell you something. If I could I would only like to have seen the footprints and taken an inside tour. Well it was not to be. At least I am grateful for the fact that I got to take a couple of pictures of the footprints near the front. Located on Hollywood Blvd on the Walk of Fame.

I went to the TCL Chinese Theatre recently to attend the LA Skins Fest. I enjoyed being at the theater, but it was a bit confusing at first to navigate. The staff was friendly overall. I enjoyed my screening experience.

Played tourist in my own town today. Went to TCL (Grauman's) Chinese Theatre. Didn't go inside, just perused the hand and footprints at the entrance and watched a Michael Jackson look-alike street musician. Fun to people watch too.

This place was such a historical landmark every time you go to LA, I have visited so many times during the ceremony of some celebrities getting their hand printed, or maybe a red carpet of a movie premiere, but this year I got to attend a private screening of Iron Claw as part of the SAGAFTRA foundation, parking validation is still cheaper than any other places I had parked in the past here, again with these exclusive actors to actors, I didn't get distract by all the madness between security and regular fans, just very up close and eye opening; their theaters are big enough to accommodate large groups, I am sure Dolby next door got more since I was also there before, but big enough and cleaned.

The last time I saw a movie in this theater it was called "The Mann's Chinese Theater" ( for the record the movie was "the Phantom Menace")...mostly because my friends and I lived nearby. Now that I live many miles away it's a production to get here and the main reason I don't/haven't visited this theater in a generation! That said, I really wanted to see "Mission Impossible 7" in IMAX at the Chinese theater. I did everything I could to be doing business in the area then end my work day at this theater instead of diving home in the crazy traffic. The exterior needs a touch up, but don't let the facade fool you, this is a modern single screen, big event, IMAX movie theater. I have an IMAX screen in my home town and it does NOT compare in anyway to this theater, which in it's way is opulent and grand, features a bigger screen, and much louder. Also, movie, on this massive screen, looked clearer to me and sounded so awesome. The seats were comfortable...no problems (comfort wise ) watching a 2 plus hr movie here! I should note there is a single person restroom nearby, close enough to not miss too much of your movie should you need to go. The bigger restroom area is in a sort of basement level and a little further away. They validate parking and the ticket for IMAX was $1 more than what they charge in my home town IMAX. Had a great experience watching this movie at the Chinese theater...all the work gymnastics I went through to be here on a week day was worth the effort. I'll try to come back soon ! But for everyone who is a movie going fan, you have to come to this theater once in your life!

Beautiful legendary theatre...horrible projector. My DVD player looks better than their IMAX projector. Watched Dune 2. Image was blurry and grainy, scene with bright white, screen was flickering.

Everything was great has large parking lot accessible to the street can get tickets validated for reduced parking fees. Super clean boxes and restrooms great service

Tourist attraction in the heart of Hollywood, housing a very large modern IMAX theater inside. We wanted to see Oppenheimer in its full IMAX 70MM, and this is one of the very few in the country that can show it in that way. We reserved 10 am tickets on-line for about $25 a piece, chose non-center seats almost a week out, and took the 90 minute journey from DTLB to Hollywood by train on a Monday morning. It's a huge movie theater, seating 1,000 people. It is configured in a stadium seating, so view will be unobstructed unless sitting behind a really tall person. The seats are comfortable with enough width to stretch out your shoulders: size was between what you would see in a football stadium and a lounger that you would see in the most modern movie theaters. The screen itself was almost 4:3 in its dimensions, and it was super cool to see parts of the film when it was fully used (a lot of the film was letter boxed since it wasn't fully filmed in IMAX 70). Surprisingly, some of the most effective scenes were not big, explosion scenes but more of the facial close-ups in moments of interpersonal conflicts that was the heart of the film. We were really glad that we saw the movie here...though I wish we had got a lot closer seats. It would have been a very different experience if all of our peripheral vision had been occupied. There is so much history in this theater. Most of the outside celebrity handprints was cordoned off, though a small section was allowed for tourists to stand on top. One needs a tickets to actually enter the theater. Inside, there are the cinema accompaniments (bathrooms and concession stands), though it is way too small for such a large crowd. There are some few lifesize statues to look at. A small bar is off to the side, serving alcohol for later shows. It's very close to the Highland exit of the LA Metro Red Line, and there are plenty of restaurants in the area to grab a bite to eat before/after the show. Note there is also a 6 theater TCL Chinese plex directly east, upstairs in the mall. It shares the same one booth box office with the IMAX, but is in a different spot.

We've all seen this theater on TV and the movies. If you're into the classic Hollywood, you have to do the pilgrimage to the Chinese theater. It can be a little crowded. Just take your time and enjoy a little piece of history.

Real quick stop while walking all over Hollywood. My wife and daughter were interested. I'm not a real big movie expert, but I must say it was kind of cool to see the handprints and footprints of Hollywood's greatest. I think my favorite was Judy Garland. The Wizard of Oz scared the heck out of me when I was a kid. Her feet and hands are also very small. Anyway, if you are passing by, it's worth a quick stop. Lots of tourists. Very crowded. Would not go out of my way to see unless you are a huge fan of movies.

TCL is a memorable experience... If truth be the tell! A longstanding Hollywood and Los Angeles staple and major tourist attraction with clay prints of Hollywood's past and present and more history/herstory/theirstory than you can imagine... Established in the roaring 20s this movie palace he held not just premieres and promotions but a series of small renovations to keep it's decadent charm. I've been lucky enough to enjoy many of motions pictures of the years including some TCM Films during the annual Turner Classic Movie film festival and most recently Top Gun: Maverick in Imax for the true extensive experience. Concessions are crazy reasonable and on par if not cheaper your run of the mill Cinemark, Regal, Regency or even AMC.... Grauman's Chinese Theatre offers refreshments such as classic popcorn, candy, beverages and even wine and beer... Cheers! The have restrooms for men on the right and women on the left with a staircase descending to each entrance as well as gender neutral facilities plus persons with disabilities more private bathrooms on the main level just before the staircases. You can enjoy mini tours going into great detail of the history of the theater as well as cases of costumes, props and figures from motion picture's past.
