The 38 Essential Barcelona Restaurants

"Tickets was one of the most sought-after reservations in Barcelona, treating diners to the style of Barcelona’s old theater district in its heyday. The restaurant’s closing made way for Teatro Kitchen Bar, a reimagined take on the same theme. The average cost per diner at Teatro is a third of what it was at Tickets, making the experience much more accessible while still offering up creative tapas cooked by a team with Michelin dining pedigrees. Teatro Kitchen is the main event, but there’s also Backstage, an adjoining cocktail bar that’s the perfect place to wrap up your night." - Sam Zucker

Teatro kitchen & bar

"A highly original eatery that maintains the essence of the legendary Tickets, but in a more simplified format. Both its name and decor are a nod to the theatres located in the city’s Parallel district, and provide the backdrop for fun, varied cuisine in the shape of snacks, tapas, a few classic dishes, plus a surprise selection. While you’re here, why not enjoy a drink or cocktail in the Backstage bar?" - Michelin Inspector

In general it was a great experience. Service on point, polite and attentive. Ambiance different from other restaurants which we appreciated. The Scene 1/finger dishes were fantastic. The warm/larger dishes were OK, a littke disappointing. Based on the finger dishes quality and experience the warm/larges dishes left some to desire... Would highly recommend the place for the experience on finger food. Our favorite bites of the night are the pictures attached.

Google
A upscale restaurant specializing in creative fusion cuisine located in the Eixample district. I ordered the "surprise show", a series of dishes selected by the culinary team, and the samurai cocktail. The dishes were delicious and exquisitely presented. The samurai was fruity and sweet without being cloying. Restaurant staff were fluent in English and friendly to foreign tourists. Atmosphere was leisurely and surprisingly casual, with patrons mostly wearing informal attire. Pricing was on the expensive end at €119,20, but it was a wonderful dining experience. Accepts online reservations from foreign tourists. A real treat if you can afford to splurge.

Magical and most fun dining experience! We enjoyed every minute in this fabulous restaurant. Great, attentive service. Exquisite food preparation and presentation. Would come here again any time!! Very good value for money.

We made a reservation here for a special dinner while in Barcelona for my husbands birthday. It did not disappoint! All our food wishes were catered for and we had the most amazing meal. We chose the surprise menu and every single dish tasted and looked amazing. If you're looking for somewhere very special to eat while in Barcelona I would definitely go here. Also, have a cocktail in their Backstage bar, afterwards, also fantastic!

The food was tasty, beautiful and varied. You can see the kitchen making everything. The place looks unique and has a great vibe. Highly recommended. There is also a bar you can go to after dinner...

Chef Oliver, Agustina and Jordi are the reason that this fine dining restaurant is the best in all of Barcelona. Don't take it from me, look up all the awards and accolades Chef Oliver and his team have. We did not have a reservation on mid-day Friday but Agustina placed us right away and made us feel at home. We were given 2 choices of how to order. We went with the "I'll Take Care of You" option. Basically they keep bringing out fantastic plates and you tell them when to stop! We had about 10 courses with dessert options, so 12. They all stood out and complemented each other. We did hint at what we definitely wanted to try and what our palate was craving. So they began to bring out the plates and walk us through the ingredients and the best way to enjoy each dish was! I can't say enough about the food. Please see the posts. What stood out to me was the fantastic service and experience. Chef Oliver took the time and introduced a plate himself along with a brief synopsis of his latest project. I did have to come back and apologize about the gratuity as there was some confusion on my part. But Jordi and his team received my apologies gracefully and with humility. Please do not sleep on this once in a lifetime yet very accessible amazing experience!!!

It’s a joyful concept… from the moment we walk in, we were given our entrance tickets and got settled for the show - it was a cute detail to set the mood. We chose the surprise menu, gave a few guidelines of our preferences - food and wine wise. From there, the sommelier and her fantastic team took over, taking us through a pleasant journey into the Mediterranean cuisine, from bites reminding our childhood, to moments hanging out with friends, to more sophisticated proposals… We were delighted by food, as the main star 🌟 of the show, very well look after by teatro’s team, and amused by the whole vibe of the ambience and the quirky spanish music vibe - A fun dinner out!!

Google
Wow. What an experience! Now that tickets is gone, we were looking for a fun, delicious experience and Teatro really fit the bill! The surprise menu was so much fun and the food was quite tasty. The prawn roll and the nori boat with fois gras and eel were true standouts. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. It was our best meal in Barcelona that included a Michelin star and top rated TripAdvisor and Google restaurants. The woman running the chef's table is a boss!! Her service was amazing and she knew every aspect of the menu incredibly well. Go for the surprise menu, you are in the best of hands.

Yelp
My first experience dining in at a "World's 50 Best" listed restaurant was here (rated #20 as of this writing). Actual dine-in date: 3/6/2019. Whenever traveling internationally I try my best to experience one "special occasion" meal. It may or may not be a chef's table or fine dining experience, but the restaurant would have enough accolades for people to schedule their itineraries or even plane tickets on a reservation. In the case of Barcelona I am a huge Europhile and a United Cyber Monday deal had me already going here but it was in the case of Tickets that I scheduled my entire trip around the reservation. Compared to TFL and Noma scoring tickets here was slightly easier... but not by much. Reservations are available up to 60 days to the date of dine-in and open up at 12AM exactly. At the time you had to not only be on the website at midnight local time, your computer time also had to match the local time in order for the reservation system to work. You could be SOL as early as 5 minutes afterwards so it's best to try out a "practice run" beforehand. Also keep in mind that the minimum party size is 2. Being a solo traveler I reached out to a girls travel FB group for a dining partner. This ended up being one of the best things that ever happened on my travels. Dress code: smart casual. For background research I highly recommend watching Netflix's "Chef's Table" season 5 episode 4 on Albert Adrià. As one of the two Adrià brothers he was instrumental to the success of El Bulli as its pastry chef and eventually its creative director. As the creative director he was the one that spearheaded all the avant-garde techniques that to this day define molecular gastronomy (foams, spherification). No longer wanting to be in the shadow of his famous brother Ferran he left El Bulli and went to start his own collective of restaurants in Barcelona. Think of Tickets as a scaled down El Bulli. My friend and I first started off in the main restaurant where the savories are served. Technically there *is* a menu but most people who go to Tickets opt for omakase style - once you tell the server your allergies and dislikes they'll proceed to give you "la vida tapa" until you say stop. There is no mention of any budget concerns, but considering you are eating at a World's 50 Best restaurant I assume you saved enough to splurge on the experience... Once you are done with the savories dessert is served in a separate room that reminds you of something from either Willy Wonka or Alice in Wonderland. Again the same concept applies here - dessert is served until you say "stop". The dessert room itself is a very unique experience amongst all restaurant experiences - I'd rather not say what I thought but rather experience it for yourself. Between my friend and I we shared approximately 20 tapas. - Anchoa (anchovies) - Olivas Gordal Adobad (the famous olives from "El Bulli" that are made from olive juice via a spherification process) - Caballa simesabe (their take on "pan de cristal con tomate" accompanied with mackerel) - Calamar raifort (squid in 6 grains) - Duo atun (two preparations of tuna: tuna tartare plus tuna bonbon) - Airbaguette de Rubia (their take on jamon iberico on a baguette - I think the jamon is from Galicia) - Ostra escabeche (pickled oysters) - Mini Airbags de ques (think cheese puff with manchego cheese foam on the inside) - Viaje nordico (Beet and tartar on a cracker - their take on something you would see at Noma's game & forest menu) - Gamba Steackmar (aka amaebi - sweet shrimp) - Maracusante (little peas inside of a passion fruit seed - another molecular gastronomy trick) - Albondigas de habita (peas that look like meatballs?) - Berenjena lacada (lacquered eggplant) - Mollete papada (a sandwich made from pork chin - think dumpling) - Codorniz wellington (quail done in the beef wellington style. Filled with spinach, mushrooms and ham) - Bikini trufa (sandwich of Coulommier cheese and black truffle) - Rosa de ambar (one of the signature desserts, a gelatinous ball resembling dew sits on the center of the rose. The dew tastes like lychee and raspberry). - Tickets cheesecake (a cheesecake that looks like a cheese wheel. Served with "crackers" I am not a cheesecake person and this is one of the best things I've ever eaten. The rind is super delicious; very hazelnut rich) - Tarta Choco Pasion (regular chocolate tart) - Sandwich Helado (stroopwaffle ice cream sandwich) With drinks, grand total came out to €335.30. Favorites: the olives, sweet shrimp, cheese puff with manchego, truffle cheese sandwich, cheesecake. I didn't get to go to El Bulli when it was open so going to Tickets is the next best thing. A few years back I also went to another "El Bulli" alumni's restaurant - é by José Andrés, aka Tickets as a chef's table. I prefer tickets over é because even though the techniques may be similar, the focus remains on the food. To this day one of my favorite foodie experiences.

Yelp
The food was really amazing! They were full inside, so sat outside. Wish they did more with the outdoor seating. But the service was still wonderful.

Yelp
I read TICKETS fine dining closed over the pandemic. It is now "re-branded as Teatro in 2022, with 5 of the classic Tickets dishes, and a new menu heavy on the stews and modern snacks."

Yelp
Are you ready for the hottest ticket to the world's best ranked #20 restaurant? Entering the amusement park of avant-garde and contemporary food art, this @albert.adria.acosta Michelin-star concept of "La vida tapa" is an experience one will never forget. We recommend watching @chefstablenetflix Albert Adrià season 5, episode 4 to truly grasp his innovative techniques and fiery courage in pushing the limits of food. Starting with the best part - Dessert, duh! Cheesecake - served with butter cookies, this hazelnut rind is unlike any other cheesecake you've tried before. Hands-down. Lychee & Raspberry Sphere - molecular gastronomy takes this rose water gelatin bite to another level. (The rose itself is not edible) Choux w/ Coconut Popcorn, Vanilla Cream Banana & Basil - a personal favorite Pear, Nut Butter, Brioche - we're still obsessed with how everything melted together so perfectly. Stroopwaffle Ice Cream Sandwich - imagine bites of warmth & happiness Tapas: Crunchy Octopus, Picked Cucumbers Filled w/ Celery & Apple Gelatin - the tapa of the night. Absolutely delicious. Foie Gras Stuffed w/ Smoked Eel - a perfect & unique combo. Stracciatella di Bufala w/ Sea Urchin & Black Truffle - rich, fresh, aromatic. Olive-S - a delightful explosion of olive juice. Torta de Inés - we drowned, in the best way possible, in this mountain of goat, galmesan, and Payoyo cheese. Reserve at least a month in advance. Portions are mostly one bite each so don't come starving. Enter with an open mind and curious tastebuds!

Yelp
Absolutely loved our meal here! Reservations are extremely tricky. You can make them online, but they are available once it is 2 months in advance at midnight Barcelona time. I was on their website exactly then and was able to make a 10pm reservation. After that, it was fully booked for the day. Service was pleasant and attentive. The place feels very casual. Doesn't feel dressy or formal, which makes it more comfortable in my opinion. We did the "chefs choice" option which is where they keep serving you dishes until you tell them you're nearing full, so they wrap up the courses. If you do want something in particular you could let the server know. It was really hard to decided what all to get, which is why we just left it up to them to decide. We had about 10 or so items and 3 desserts. Loved the creative ways things were prepared. Quality of ingredients was also great. They also had the best sangria compared to all the other ones I've had during my entire 2 weeks in Spain. It's the least "watered" down. I really wish we had more room in our stomachs because the desserts were also super good! I would've loved to try more. Didn't know how much the bill would come out to be, but to our surprise, it wasn't too bad for the food and experience. 210 euros for 2 people. If I could've made a second reservation on the spot, I would've wanted to eat here again during our few days in Barcelona!

Yelp
Hype can be dangerous. Some places live up to it, while others fall on the sword of their own making. Thankfully, Tickets completely lived up to the hype! It actually surpassed the hype, to be fair. Sadly, we've only been able to get in once on our growing number of visits to the city, but I really can't say enough positive things about the restaurant. From the staff to the food, everything was excellent. The atmosphere is fun, and completely unpretentious, which is the best. It's casual, which may surprise some, but that really helps take a sometimes-intimidating world of gastronomy and make it relaxing. Easily the most relaxed "fancy" meal we've ever had! We allowed our server to simply pick whatever he felt would be best, and he didn't let us down! We had a wonderful variety of dishes, spanning any number of textures and flavors you could want. He answered any questions that we had, explained the dishes well, and was just a generally pleasant server with a fun attitude. I could run through the list of items that we had, but I'd just say let them pick and enjoy. The pacing is great, and they'll constantly check in to see if you want to continue or if you're too full. Again, it's a very chill place! Also, while Tickets isn't "cheap," I can say that we were amazed at how fairly-priced our meal ended up being. We've spent far more on meals in the States that weren't even close to deserving the fanfare that Tickets does. So, at the risk of making our chances of getting in even harder, I can only say that Tickets is a must-visit if you can get in, and enjoy the experience! It's worth the splurge, for sure!

Yelp
Tickets. A very good meal, but honestly given the reputation I was a little underwhelmed by the creativity of the dishes (except desert, which was exceptional). Still enjoyable, and honestly I probably would've rated this very high if I hadn't gone to Disfrutar a couple days prior. It's very hard to get in - you have to book reservations two months out on Spain's time at the moment they release. When you show up, you check in and get your 'tickets' for the meal and head to your table. You can order a la carte, or have them choose a selection of dishes for you (not advertised as a tasting menu, but similar concept). We went with their choice, overall the courses were well executed and flavors were on point, but some weren't particularly exciting. Favorite courses were all of the desserts - the cheesecake, ice cream sandwich, pizza, tart and key lime pie were insanely good. For savory bites, my favorites were the olive spheres (obviously - they're most creative/innovative dish), the squid, eel and foie gras, meat on the cone, and carrot canape. Only issue with the meal for me, was the timing of courses. It started out good, but then more and more spaced as if they were dragging out the meal on purpose (which, they probably were to space out timing for the dessert room). The last few courses took what felt like forever, and by the time we got to the dessert room we wanted to go (overall, not an overly long meal maybe 3 hours, but without knowing how many courses or what the plan was it made it difficult to judge timing of everything. I would definitely come back to Tickets, but would probably want to try the other Michelin restaurants in BCN first (that are easier to get into).

Yelp
This is hands down the best restaurant I've been to in Barcelona. I did their tasting And it was killer. All the staff is super friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
Getting a ticket to Tickets Barcelona is no easy feat. The word is out - this may be the best value fine dining in the city, if not the world. The tapas here are a mix of elBulli's greatest hits, along with equally impressive new creations. You can order a la carte or opt for the tasting menu. After dinner, you may even be invited to the secret dessert room, a willy wonka-esque wonderland complete with a ceiling covered in gigantic berries and candy canes. We weren't able to get reservations at first and my husband had to practically beg Enigma (the latest and greatest elBarri family restaurant) to help us. Enigma came through and got us a 10:30pm weeknight seating! It definitely helped to make a reservation at another elBarri restaurant and leverage that. Still full from the 40+ tasting menu at Enigma the night prior, we opted for the a la carte option at Tickets. With two drinks each, a satisfying amount of tapas, and plenty of dessert, the meal ended up being a reasonable €100 per person. Considering Tickets is ranked #25 on the World's 50 Best, holds 1 Michelin star, and is one of my top meals ever, this was quite a steal. A highlight were the King Crab Tacos - this was a fun, make your own dish. Not to mention the crab was the best crab I've tasted, with the most tender texture! I also loved the Mini Airbags, which had an awesome Manchego foam center. The eye-catching Crunchy Octopus was also a hit with a zippy wasabi-panko breading that went nicely with the tender octopus. The bright white wine we enjoyed with dinner was also standout and a great value at €8 a glass. The craft cocktails were well-balanced and equally as enjoyable. As good as the savory courses were, I thought the desserts were even more impressive. On first bite, the cheesecake immediately took the title of the best dessert I've had! Shaped like a cheese round, it had a subtle hazelnut white chocolate outer "rind" and the fluffiest, yet decadent center. The texture, along with the balanced sweetness was better than any cheesecake of my dreams. After that legendary showing, I wasn't sure if I could enjoy any other dessert, but the ice cream stroopwaffle and chocolate passionfruit flower were nearly as good! Like the cheesecake, there wasn't one particular thing that stood out, rather every single aspect was just incredible. A very sweet ending to what will most likely be my favorite meal of 2018.

Yelp
I have to give MUCH kudos to the hubs for booking a table at Tickets. According to the hubs, the wait for a table is about two months out, and he had to check the restaurant's website at Spain's midnight to see if there were tables available and book/confirm as soon as possible. He was able to book a table for us and two of our friends who happen to be traveling in Barcelona as well. Their menu is fun and eclectic, and the atmosphere is vivacious and colorful. The staff are friendly, energetic, and seem very excited to give you a one-of-a-kind experience. You can order right off the menu, but we decided to go for the tasting menu - why not??? The most surprising bite during the entire meal was the olive. It's not really an olive, but tastes just like an olive and looks like an olive... oh, that olive... This is not to say that this was the best bite. Every bite of every plate they offered was amazingly delicious, and if you ask, the servers will bring you the menu for you to order other food items in addition to whatever is included. The hubs was severely disappointed that we didn't get to try the crab... after they served the last entree/savory dish, they asked us if we needed anything else. We were so lost in all the flavors and textures that we totally forgot to ask if we can order the crab. Big mistake. Once you tell them you're good, they whisk you off to another section of the restaurant where it's a complete different world of fruits and sweets all around. Here, they served another series of amazing desserts. This time, we made sure to ask for the menu to see if we wanted to try anything else before the last bite. We ordered the Stroopwaffle Ice Cream Sandwich, and I am SO glad we did - it was my favorite dessert at the restaurant. I fully resented the staff from holding out on us. If we ever go back to Barcelona, I know I will ask the hubs to see if we can go back!

Yelp
#100 Yelp Review #25 of 50 world best restaurant 2017 I would like to write about my number 100 review on Tickets. This is a late review. I was there in February this year. I absolutely adored this place, and would go back to Barcelona just for this place. 10 stars for the service and food! This is one of the best dining experience that I've had. Adrià brothers are truly culinary genius! It definitely beats all the high end restaurants, Michelin star places that I've had so far in the states and Asia. Atmosphere: it is a casual circus theme. No fancy tables or chairs here, but you'd feel very excited and comfy here. However, the surprised dessert room is so pretty and cozy. I will not spoil the surprise here. Food: they can customize your menu based on what you like. I was highly satisfied with the choices I was given. The only thing I would skip is the wagyu here and get something else. Some of my personal favorites: 1. Foie with smoked eel: never had this combination before, and yet it was amazingly smooth and delicious. 2. Avocado ravioli: with crab, chipotle mayonnaise and chia seeds. It was cooked to perfection, and so intricately made.Probably the best ravioli I've had. 3. Nordic landscape: what a beautiful dish. It's like a winter wonderland with the vinegar powder. It tasted heavenly with aged beef and smoked cheese. 4. Mini airbag: cheese and caviar. Yes please! Can I get a dozen to go? 5. Cheesecake: omg. It's the best kind of cheese cake ever. It's so fresh and creamy that melt in your mouth. After having that, regular cheesecake just doesn't taste the same anymore. Tips for booking: I was not able to book two month advance. However, I checked every single day and see if there's an opening. And, I got it! So keep checking if you really want to go. I also put my name down for the waiting list and it didn't pull through. So glad that someone cancelled and we were able to snatch the reservation.

Yelp
Our friend Mike M managed a major miracle - reservations here on a Saturday night. For months, we are all anticipating our dinner here so expectations were high. (And I would say that the only thing better than dinner here is dinner here with good friends!) I'll say (at least for myself) expectations were exceeded. From the moment you step past the velvet rope (it's a theater theme) to your exit from the dessert room, you'll be by turns surprised, delighted and sometimes bewildered. There's a menu but most people do the €130 tasting which includes 30 courses (5 dessert courses!). Bites started arriving quickly - in truth it was a bit overwhelming at first! Our first course was dried anchovy filet and I thought "what have I gotten myself into??" And then I ate it and every other thing put in front of me - even things I'd previously been terrified to try like sea cucumbers (filled with soprasetta, and delicious BTW). I won't detail every dish because that would be boring but there are pics below. My favorites were the manchego cheese purses, the Nordic landscape, the octopus (just amazing) and the "cheesecake desert". As was expected, most dishes were absolutely delicious and very creative. And then they rolled out the giant slab of Wagyu....which was sliced up in front of us. YUM. The dessert room is crazy fun too - there's Willy Wonka clips playing, giant berries on the ceiling and more crazy stuff coming out from the kitchen. It's a Michelin starred place so expect top-tier service that isn't at all stuffy. We watched the dessert staff play a trick on another table by getting them to "help" make a cake - after a little magic trick, a fully realized dessert appeared. Of course, you can spend hundreds on wine but you don't need to - we had a nice cava under €35 that complemented our plates perfectly. Their sommelier is a lot of fun and will definitely help you out regardless of price range. Two other things to note - if you haven't guessed, Tickets is pretty casual and doesn't take itself too seriously. Dress smart but formal clothes not needed. Also, there are a TON of women working behind the line - that makes me very happy as the chef profession can be macho. Thanks ladies, for one of the most memorable meals I've ever eaten! TWO FINGERS - ONE BITE (I've had several messages from folks looking for advice on reservations. They open up 60 days out - set your alarm because they typically fill within minutes. If you don't get in, watch for cancellations, beg your hotel concierge or show up as they open and hope to snag a bar seat. Good luck!)

Yelp
Mind-blowingly interesting concepts! This World's 50 Best restaurant is not the typical formal fine dining like the others; instead, it's relaxed and fun and kitschy. Having eaten at El Celler de can Roca the night before, we appreciated the casual contrast without sacrificing the quality of the food. Our group of 5 went for lunch and had an amazing time. We opted for a la carte ordering over the tasting menu, but made sure to try all the classics and popular dishes, like avocado pizza and cheesecake. Both were hits, as well as the king crab legs which were the best, juiciest crab legs I've ever had! I'd describe most of the food as playful and tasty. Wish they had better non-alcoholic drinks though! There was no juice pairing, and the limited "healthy cocktail" menu didn't produce anything worth drinking (only two options and I didn't like either one). That was the only disappointing part of the experience. Otherwise, I definitely recommend coming here while in Barcelona.

Yelp
I do not even know where to begin with this review but let me try my best to break this review down. Tickets has always been on my radar especially after seeing it pop as number 25 on the best restaurants in the world. It so happened that I was heading to Barcelona for a mini euro trip and knew that it would be my chance to nab dinner at this joint. I started furiously looking for options to dine at this joint but to my dismay I was unable to find a SINGLE SPOT no matter how often I looked. This search process continued for months and I kept losing hope in the process and ended up searching for other options including securing a reservation at another bucket list joint Disfrutar which is no slouch. I finally arrived in Barcelona and I continued to search but had nearly given up hope but amazingly, one slot opened up the day before we were expecting to leave AND happened to be on the same day as a Disfrutar lunch. Even with this, I could not say to the number 25 best restaurant in the world so pulled the trigger for a dinner and woke up the next day planning on being completely stuffed. Fast forward to dinner (past the disfrutar lunch), I had walked around to make sure I was on as near empty as i could be to generate enough appetite. The décor itself is very unassuming and has a fun atmosphere to it with a carnival type theme. I was seated at a bar like area where we could see the chefs hard at work in the back. The style of this place is really to either choose what you want or let the wait staff choose a "omakase-like" experience where they bring you different things after asking what you like/dislike AND the beauty of it is... you get to dictate stop when you want. Yolo time for sure. We opted with the omakase and just sat back with a few of our scotch's to enjoy the meal spectacle that was about to come. All of the dishes were quite unique and a fun play on traditional flavors and visuals. All in all, I think from start to dessert I was able to sample roughly 20 dishes.... Don't judge me... this is how you gotta roll for the world's best restaurants. A few of the items that came out was the world's thinnest sandwich which was between two crackers and jamon in the center and some pancetta, the famous olives that are deconstructed and just take like pure deliciousness. It will surprise you for texture, flavor, and impact. Potato cube with wagyu which was presented neatly on a marble block and was packed with flavor despite being tiny. The tuna belly dish with a cherry that is filled with remarkable flavor and the way they infused it was crazy. Eggplant nigiri which caught me off guard as I really thought it was fish but was still packed. The air baguette wrapped with beef loin and in the shape of a cigar was absolutely delicious, foie gras stuffed with eel again unique balance and presentation, the octopus was legit delicious and probably one of the ones ive ever had, suckling pig and a full quail including the head. Honestly I could keep raving about every dish but each item was made with high ingredients, and this joint certainly carved up a unique niche to make them special compared to the standard euro fare and make you really feel the experience along with visual/actual appetite. At the end of all of this, they surprised by saying dessert was in another room and we walked into this transformative place that is dessert heaven. The ceiling id decorated raspberries blue berries, etc. making it quite the visual. We were seated at the bar and immediately greeted with a rose with a jelly type starting dessert. They next gave a chocolate cake deal with bacon on top and it was absolutely light and fluffy along with a chocolate cake mousse type cake which was also delicious and light. The absolute showstopper was the cheesecake though. This thing tasted like white chocolate and was packed with flavor while offering creaminess and freshness. Honesty there is no cheesecake like this ever so you cannot miss out. All in all, this was a phenomenal meal in Barcelona and very deserving of its rank in the charts. The creative, low key, and top quality nuances make it quite the experience and definitely worth tracking a reservation down so you can experience it for yourself.

Yelp
The service here was the best service I have ever received at a restaurant, maybe ever. Even though this is one of the top 25 restaurants in the world, there's no pretense or stuffiness at all here. Everyone seems excited to be here , both the staff and the customers themselves. I ordered food ala carte and everything I ate was delicious including the wagyu beef. When I ordered a double bourbon, they actually brought the bottle table side to pour it. Just little touches like that impressed me. The sommelier was helpful and all the servers were amazing. And then the dessert was so over the top. Just when you think you can't eat another bite, another dessert shows up in front of you. The cheesecake is THE MOST cheesy cheesecake I've ever eaten. Go here now.

Yelp
This is an experience. It is true that you will need to make a reservation 2 months in advance at midnight in Spain time. It was maybe worth it. The service seems to be great, but it could be better. I feel like they pushed the most expensive wine; the amount that was served by also very stingy. Also the seating could be better, we were seated at the "bar" and servers would be bumping into us to get to the other tables. We were offered a menu but we let the server give us a surprise menu, where the price is also a surprise until the end of the meal. Also, the pacing was not consistent; there was a lot of waiting between the plates...at the price they charge, I would expect that the pacing between the plates would be consistent. All in all, they do a great job with making sure your water is topped up (each time they will charge you for a bottle, we spent 10 euros in water) They will take away the plates as soon as the food is off the serving plate; the server bumped into my hand while I was literally taking the last bite off the plate. Not sure how I feel about that...I mean that's efficient, but come on. The vibe and ambiance is fun and fast-paced but it's definitely not a romantic restaurant where you have privacy. I guess it depends what you like. Every plate was explained in detail by our server and also how to eat it, so that was much appreciated. After you are whisked away to the dessert area, you are with a whole new set of staff and servers that seemed disjointed and you didn't really have the same rapport with. There was one server behind the bar that was busy making desserts, we sat there for quite awhile until someone came up and asked us how hungry we were and he put in some selections for us. I witnessed some subtle argument between the staff while they were preparing the desserts. Overall, the dessert room is a cool idea, but the level of service was inconsistent and made the experience a very very long evening. We were there for about 2.5 hours.

Yelp
This was a like an amusement park for foodies. It was a meal I truly did not want to end. I dont want to give it away; but dessert will be the best part of this journey. A meal you'll never forget.

Yelp
Such a bummer. Was looking forward to this place based on a friend's rec and the nightmare of trying to obtain a reservation. The night we were here our server kept changing and they sucked. No one explained the dishes well. We thought by saying we wanted to try many things we would get a good sample but instead they just brought us larger (or multiples) of each item and charged us up the bleep. Like we could do with one olive each. Instead they bring 4. No one asked. When it came time for the main course, they didn't tell us the price differences or any info. We ordered the ribeye and they brought a huge one that was way too much for two people who just had 15 other courses. Just poor communication all the way around. Even dessert. They gave us two nasty margarita "drink" desserts when one would have been enough in order to try other stuff. Obviously the venue is cool. The food techniques are awesome. The dessert room is just something to experience. I just expected a Top 50 restaurant in the World to be better (like Arzak). If I came again, I would be more demanding of explanations and the ordering process instead of just letting them serve me and then getting the sticker shock...

Yelp
In a string of Michelin starred restaurants we had been to within a week, this stood out as the place we were most likely to go back to as many times as we could if given the opportunity. The execution is amazing, yet playful. The service was exceptional and the little surprises throughout the meal added to the experience. Do yourself a favor and go for a tasting menu selected by your server, and if it's your first time, go for the complete dessert menu, this is where they truly shine.

Yelp
I looked for reservations for Tickets for my vacation to Barcelona weeks ahead of time (you really need months) and found nothing. Two days before my dinner reservation I happened to randomly check while waiting for the train in Madrid and was stoked when I saw that they had space for two, two days later. I was looking forward to this more than anything else in Barcelona - after all, it's #25 on best restaurants in the world! You MUST have a reservation in order to eat here. I saw many people turned away who tried to show up and hope to score a table. They were sent off to Tickets' sister restaurant up the street. The decor here is very unassuming and kind of amusement park-like. Nothing ridiculously fancy shmancy - I came in a tank top and shorts. Service is great and our waitress was very helpful and kept us informed the entire dinner. You have the option to pick your dishes or let your waitress decide for you based on a few questions. We decided to let her surprise us... I like not knowing what's coming next. In total, we probably had about 12-13 dishes (tapas style) and 4 desserts. With a few drinks, it came in just under $250 euro. Really not too shabby. You can't really go wrong with any of the dishes. They're very inventive and you won't get bored. Of the many, many things we tried that evening, the stand outs were the following: - Grilled octopus - one of their signature dishes and a must order - Wagyu potato chip - King crab - OLIVES - must get - also a signature dish - Suckling pig "taco" We also loved the dessert room we were invited to after dinner. The whole places is covered in berry decor and there's Willy Wonka on repeat all over the place on the screens. We enjoyed a chef's pick of 4 different desserts, all of which were just as interesting as dinner. You are greeted with a rose and a jelly type amuse bouche inside the rose. Of the desserts, the cheesecake was the most memorable and one of their signatures. Overall, an amazing culinary experience and I'm very happy and lucky to have been able to eat here during our vacation. I would encourage everyone to try to nab a reservation here - check last minute!

Yelp
There are restaurants you dream of some day going to. (Especially if you never been to El Bulli). Reservations you make as soon as you book the plane tickets. Meals you imagine in your head. This is one of those. Our first night in Barcelona and we met a local friend who also had a friend in town. They were taking their sweet time and I was dreading losing out reservation so I'm sure I stressed everyone out by rushing us to the restaurant. HA The fourth friend, whom I just met, kept saying "this will be lost on me - i'm not a foodie". I hate the term "foodie" - as the people who use it generally don't know much about food at all, just follow Michelin stars blindly and have lost taste-buds ages ago. But I just told him to have patience. From the moment we sat down, with the embroidered napkins, I knew this would be special. The next hour or so is a complete blur. We ordered a la carte instead of doing the tasting. Best Pan con tomate? Sure. Best Jamon? Sure. Best Razor clams? Sure. I wasn't thrilled with their "special" oyster as it was wayyyy too briney for me. Thinnest sandwich in the world? tasty but not my favorite. Spherical Olives? Pure magic. Sea Urchin, tuna, razor clams, all some of the best sea food I've ever had. But the crunchy octopus was hands down my favorite of the seafood. Then came the question... "would you like dessert"? Umm, this *is* Albert Adrias place, no? You get taken through a hallway into another room for dessert! *** Spoiler Alert *** *** do not read further if you prefer to be surprised *** We walk into a room that is straight out of Willy Wonka - and wouldn't you know it - they were playing Willy Wonka on the screens!! The menu was impressive and long, and we couldn't decide. Our new friend pulled one of the coolest moves ever. He simply handed the menu back to the waiter and said "Yes". HA! However, we forgot to mention that we were sharing everything. So they actually brought four of each course!!! Oh boy! We were stuffed, but the "cheesecake" was hands down my favorite and one of the best desserts I ever had. Lot of other highlights include lychee w rose, and they were all very very beautiful and creative, but man that Cheesecake! One of the best meals I ever had!

Yelp
Continued Part 2: Impressed by a dish called "Crunchy Nigiri," the 'filet' of grilled Eggplant served atop a Rice Cracker Shell with Soy Caviar almost indistinguishable in taste from Tuna Belly, the follow-up of actual Chu-Toro slow-cooked in Pork Fat atop crispy Tapioca Pearls and Seaweed seemed all the more appropriate, another raw dish to follow presenting one of Albert's famous 'cubes' topped in finely chopped Wagyu. Turning to two classic Sandwiches next, both seen stateside prior from the kitchens of Jose Andres, suffice it to say that little can go wrong with elder Beef Carpaccio wrapped around crisp Bread nor from aged and emulsified Machego, the "Avocado Ravioli" to follow a visually stunning dish with sweet chunks of Crab playing well off the smoky Chipotle Mayonnaise. Flipping back to Beef momentarily, Rubia Gallega again presented as a thin layer of Ceviche amidst Vinegar Powder as part of a "Nordic Landscape," it was with palates refreshed by deconstructed Tomato Salad that the evening pressed onward, the followup of spreadable Foie Gras and Smoked Eel a bit more funky than that served at Lasarte in the afternoon and served with a bit too little toast for this diner's liking. Strange to see Raw Bar plates so late n the meal, though both the Oyster with an Apple Spherification and a Clam served Bloody Mary-style were nonetheless pleasant, it was here that Chef de Cuisine Fran Agudo move into a progression of five great plates to finish, the Sea Cucumber and Hake throat both briny but delicious while the Crunchy Octopus, Baby Eel 'Spaghettis' and Suckling Pig served on a Leaf were all rich but well balanced with the first two particularly memorable for their intense focus on contrasting textures. At this point moving to the Dessert Room, an area previously appropriated as a Cocktail Bar since redecorated in Candyland fashion with Berries, Flowers and Candy Canes hanging overhead, it was after a brief greeting from Albert Adria that the remainder of the evening was turned over to three pastry Chefs, the "Rose" as a service piece previously seen at Quique Dacosta here topped in palate-cleansing Gelatin followed by a small Pumpkin filled with smooth Ice Cream, intensely sweet Flesh and crunchy Seeds. Moving next to a Honey-soaked Apricot served next to its liquid and tangy snow, a note on the reservation suggesting that the tour would be ideally focused on tasting several of Albert and team's award winning Pastries even if that meant forgoing some savory plates, it was next that airy Cornbread was taken from the Microwave and presented with Corn Cream before watching liquid nitrogen freeze a "Pancake" soon to be piped with Strawberry Cream on one side and Vanilla on the other, the resultant Ice Cream Sandwich as impressive in flavor as it was in texture. Requesting that no more Passion Fruit based items be served after the ornate "Chocolate Flower," a personal preference that had nothing to do with the dish itself, it was in follow-up that the kitchen presented Albert's famous Cheesecake which had already been seen replicated that morning at Hofmann Pastisseria while the Fresier and Baked Alaska to follow were each also worthy of imitation, the latter in particular as the creamy Meringue still managed to remain soft after a kiss with the Blow Torch atop poignant Black Pepper that helped to mellow the Pineapple. No doubt more expensive than the average Tickets visit, though in total the a la carte plates and cocktail actually matched the total cost fairly closely even before accounting for the individualized service and a signed copy of the Tapas: The TICKETS Cuisine presented by Chef Adria, there is little doubt that those looking for a night of fun will enjoy Tickets for exactly what it is, though with Enigma Concept now likely to occupy much of the Chef's time one does wonder how long the elder restaurant will continue to seem as innovative.

Yelp
Tickets is a show--walking in to this bustling restaurant means walking into a vibrant, old-time movie theater with flashy lights and bright colors! Everyone welcomes you left and right as you approach your seat. Getting a reservation here is quite the challenge--the current system forces you to jump on the website at the stroke of midnight, filling out the form literally within seconds. However, we scored a seat at the bar during our visit to Barcelona, and Tickets was quite the experience! We had a direct view of the open kitchen and the army of staff meticulously preparing the detailed dishes. The entire menu consists of tapas, which are generally portions of a bite or two, though one or two dishes are meant to be shared. You can order a la carte, or have the staff decide everything you eat! We went for the a la carte option and tried a bunch of creative things--most of which, admittedly, were not particularly memorable (so I won't bother mentioning them all), but some were quite incredible and others even told a little story. We started with the "olives"--doesn't sound very fancy, except that these little green balls filled with liquid were only made to look like olives--once you put them on your tongue and pressed them on the roof of the mouth, they exploded with a bright, olive, citrusy flavor! We moved on to the thin bread with tomato (a not particularly creative take on the classic Catalan dish) and the thin, crispy sandwich of jamon and panceta. We had the "airbaguette," a hollow, crunchy roll wrapped with what looked like more ham, but was actually a cured beef called "rubia gallega". The crab ravioli was decorated with a checkerboard pattern of avocado and zucchini, and the charcoal eel had char-marks reading "TICKETS" on the skin! The grilled sea cucumber was served with its deep-fried skin on the side, and the "noodles" served with chanterelles, gorgonzola, and hazelnut praline were actually made of thin, narrow strips of king trumpet mushroom! All of the small bites were creative in their own way, and I really enjoyed how our servers carefully described each one to us--sometimes even making us guess what ingredients we were eating, since they had been prepared in unrecognizable ways! Overall, however, my favorite dishes were actually the larger portions that were meant to be shared. First, we had the crispy octopus, which was a sliced octopus tentacle dressed with a kimchi mayonnaise and served with pickles on the side. Though sliced, the octopus tentacle was put back together in its original shape and served on a transparent box over sand, a seashell, and other beach-themed decorations! The octopus was tender and delicious with a deep, seafood flavor and a spicy kick from the mayo. We also had the roasted, stuffed quail, which was brought out whole (with its head) and served/sliced tableside. The quail was cooked to a perfect medium and was stuffed with eggplant and two quail eggs inside! After we announced that we were ready to move on to dessert, our server suddenly led us from our seats into a back room, which was decorated with strawberries and candy canes hanging from the ceiling, and with scenes from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory playing on a mosaic of screens on the wall. The entire room (which smelled like raspberries) was dedicated to dessert, and we started with an off-menu frozen dessert made of pumpkin, served with pumpkin seeds in a small, hollowed-out pumpkin. We also had the corn dessert, which consisted of a corn-shaped sponge cake meant to be dipped into a custard-like cream containing tons of corn flavor and crispies. The flavor and texture of this dessert was incredible--not too sweet, and a great combination of soft, sticky, and crunchy! Tickets was an incredible experience--to be in the middle of all the action and see all of the choreography that goes behind the preparation of small, precise, unique bites of food was unforgettable! Because you can control the amount you order, it also doesn't have to be a particularly expensive visit--this is just a great chance to enjoy passionate, friendly hospitality and food that you'll find nowhere else in the world!

Yelp
Placed 32nd in The World's 50 Best Restaurants in 2018. It was good, and very different. The whole chef tasting experience took 3 hours... The tasting was good, but I enjoyed the dessert part the most. I gave Tickets (Barcelona, Spain) three stars only, because I feel there are restaurants in NYC that I've tried were just as good... BUT, Tickets do have great decor, service... staff were super friendly.. overall experience was SUPER !

Yelp
There is no doubt that this is a 5 star establishment, to get a reservation you must book online 60 days in advance and they go on sale at midnight local time. Living in the US makes this a little bit of an easier process. They are closed Sunday and Monday so keep that in mind as well. I went for the tasting menu which they can cater to you, mine ran about $125 a person. Service started off excellent and by the end it was very good, I make the distinction because of the price point it is worth noting. As it got busier we wished we were checked on more. While pricey this is not a "white tablecloth" restaurant, so no need to feel obligated to get suited up if you don't feel like it. The ambience is fun and the theme is that of a carnival circus without being childish. Just about all the staff was very fluent in English, which made the menu and experience much less intimidating. The drink menu was good but not gastronomic like their food menu. The drinks were all great, no complaints. I had a Gin Fizz, a Pisco Sour, and some kind of chocolate coffee concoction. Now on to the food. The food ranged from good to great and the presentation and flavor profile of every dish was perfectly executed. I recommend trying things outside your boundaries here as what they can do with the flavors here is quite spectacular, you'll be surprised with what your favorite dish might be, I promise you that. Course 1 - It was a light starter of fish chips, it was almost like chicharon. Tasted fine, we also had a version of these across the street at their sister restaurant Bodega 1900 Course 2 & 3 - They were served on the same plate. The cherries on a tree were dipped in some kind of cream and it was quite the work of art. At the bottom of the tree was some pistachio creams in a hard shell Course 4 & 5 - We were served two versions of their molecular gastronomic olives, they tasted subtly different and popped in your mouth. If you like olives or dirty martinis then you will enjoy this. This dish is really about the science, execution, and presentation Course 6 - Anchovies on a cracker with tomato, simple and a little salty. Course 7 - The famous mini cheese airbags, I believe it was filled with a whipped and creamy manchego cheese. Course 8 - Beef on a cracker with aioli. It sounds simple but the flavor profile was complex, lots of flavor in what looks like a simple dish. Course 9 - Tuna on a seaweed cracker. If you are a fan of tuna tartar then you will enjoy this dish. Some of the best raw tuna I've tasted. Course 10 - Mini Eel Sandwich. This item was not only a highlight of the restaurant it was a highlight of the trip to Barcelona. Course 11 & 12 - Oysters served 2 ways. The first was with strawberry and kimchi and the 2nd was with vinegar and salmon roe. If you enjoy raw bar these are not to be skipped Course 13 - Deconstructed Caprese Salad. A mix of all the familiar ingredients found in a caprese salad with hints of pistachio. The foam and tomatoes tasted unreal and I am hardly a salad guy. This is another highlight. Course 14 - Razor clams in some kind of milk sauce, could've been lightly coconut based. I'm not a huge raw clam fan but it was still good. Course 15 - Avocado and sea urchin. It is prepared like guacamole table side. Great dinner theater, not a huge fan of sea urchin but I still enjoyed the dish. If you don't like sea urchin I might pass on this one. Course 16 - Mushrooms in the shape and texture of pasta with black truffle mushrooms to throw on top. It was served with some kind of cream sauce. I'm a huge truffle fan, I loved it. Course 17 - Pork belly on brioche. Another dish that looks simple but tastes outstanding. Another big highlight of the dinner. Course 18 - Confit potatoes with ham. Just like it sounds, we were getting a little full at this point and had tons of ham while in Spain. It was pretty good but not outstanding. Course 19 - I'll call this Deconstructed Chicken Soup and it was one of the biggest surprises of the meal. Chicken served on cinnamon stick skewers with chunks of bread that was soaked in broth then toasted. A side of broth came alongside it. Another highlight of the meal. Course 20 - Ham and tomato bread. You can get this anywhere and I did, but it was especially good here. Another item I could've passed on but it was still good. Course 21 - Manchebo cheese and crackers served 2 ways. Traditional and gastronomic, much like the olives I had earlier in the meal. It is worth trying as well. Course 22 - Deconstructed carrot cake served in an ice cream cone made out of some type prepared carrot. The flavors changed dramatically with each bite. Another highlight of the meal. Course 23 - Gastronomic eclairs. The typical white frosting was actually crunchy and melted in your mouth while it has spurts of chocolate throughout.

Yelp
Pay attention to when reservations open. Super tricky to get a table. Overall ambience is a little cheesy, but it fits with the theme. I recommend doing the tasting menu. It's course after course until you tell them to stop. Some of the memorable dishes including a tuna fish, oysters and the most amazing octopus I've ever had. The waitress brings out dishes based on your likes and dislikes and what will taste best. There's also a sommelier who will pair wine with your next few dishes. There is a dessert room. I mean that itself deserves 5 stars. They have clips of Willy wonka and ratatouille playing in the background. Again it is course after course of dessert until you tell them to stop. I normally don't eat baklava, however it was so delicious. You won't be disappointed if you are lucky enough to get reservations.

Yelp
I was so happy to hear Hubby snagged last minute reservations on our last night in Barcelona! They notified us via email that morning for confirmation. We had a 6:30pm slot, which was right when the restaurant opens, and considered early for most people, but ideal for us. The restaurant was not very full at that time and most of the other people who arrived then appeared to be tourists as well. I was a little anxious about bringing our 19-month daughter, but everyone was so welcoming. They even had a portable high chair available to attach to one of the chairs. We were seated near the front window and in front of the oyster bar area. Thankfully the two tables around us remained empty until later that evening. The atmosphere was relaxed, casual, and playful. We went with the Chef's choice and never looked back. Every dish was an experience, and it was exciting not knowing what to expect. Our server just asked us a few questions before beginning the course and said that the food will keep coming until we say so (let her know when we were getting full then there would be about 2-3 dishes left). She was kind enough to do a little 3-course meal for our daughter too. She tasted a sample of Iberico Jamon, the Basil Air Waffle, and a croquette. The menu also highlighted what was recommended for kids should you choose to order a la carte. Every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and tasted fresh and clean. My favorites were the Crostini with Marinated White Anchovie, the clam, the King Crab, and the Oriental Broth Lobster. Hubby and I started with a glass of Cava, then split a bottle of white wine for the meal. For dessert, our server lead us to a separate dining area dedicated to dessert. The room had strawberries decorating the ceiling and a wall playing scenes from different movies like "Ratatouille" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". We had 3 different dishes, but my favorite was the "Tickets Cheesecake" which tasted like white chocolate that was shaped like a wheel of cheese and cut like the texture of brie...mind-blowingly delicious. Thank you Tickets for a memorable night of dining that capped an incredible week-long visit to Barcelona.

Yelp
Such a fun experience! While I'm not sure it's the best food I've ever eaten in my entire life, I had a great dinner and loved the creativity of all the dishes! Reservations can be tricky to get. They go live 2 months from the exact date at midnight their time. We were in Barcelona Friday-Tuesday, but they're closed Sunday and Monday, so I only had 2 nights to try and get them! I was able to get Friday reservations easily, almost too easily. But at 8pm (which is considered early, but perfect for us). However, I wanted to try and get Saturday reservations just in case something came up on Friday, and it was IMPOSSIBLE. The site crashed as soon as they went live, and even when I did get a table, it crashed once I put my CC info. So to those wanting a reservation, be persistent and keep trying! We came in the restaurant at our time, and were seated at the chefs counter which was awesome! It was cool to see all the chefs working and the dishes that they were turning out. We ordered a nice bottle of white wine, that was crisp and light. As for the menu, we decided to go with the chef's choice and have the waiter choose for us. Even though we were seated next to other people, none of us got the same dishes, so it really was a surprise. My absolute favorites were the olives, waffle, eel sandwich, octopus, mushroom pasta, and quail! All the dishes are extremely creative and whimsical. I wanted to be in the dessert room, but there was about a 30 min wait, which was fine, we were happy to wait. MUST GO! It's absolutely gorgeous and it's like walking into the Willy Wonka factory! From there, we were served the infamous rose with jelly, pumpkin sorbet, fig dessert with frozen figs shaved on top, and the item I was most excited about: The cheesecake!! Service was very attentive! This restaurant would be soooo much more expensive if it was in the states, so I thought the price was a steal for everything that we got! If you can get a reservation, then don't hesitate to come here!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I have been looking forward to eating here for almost 2 years and finally got a reservation when we were also come to Spain to eat at Celler de Can Roca. It is a very fun, casual vibe inside Tickets so you definitely do not need to dress very fancy if you don't want to (I did not look out of place in a white tshirt and jeans!). We are very adventurous eaters and told our waitress to serve us anything the chefs felt like making (though we did ask for a sea urchin course). 3 hours later, and Tickets definitely did not disappoint. Below are the courses we had in order: Liquid olives Mackerel and bread with tomato Anchovies with green pepper sauce Caviar on a foam block made of dashi broth and water (this was absolutely amazing) Squid with 6 types of cereal and Chinese plum on top Funghi porcini cake Seaweed in tempura with its own juice + lemon juice "Tuna twice" Barnacle and clam Beef on an air filled baguette Oysters Nordic landscape - bread, beef, onion, vinegar Sea urchin with potato Squid with zucchini risotto Potato, eggplant, bone marrow Pancetta with mozzarella in croquette form with pork reduction Lobster Blueberry tart Cheesecake Their wine pairings were also absolutely amazing and complemented the courses so well. We didn't get to go to the dessert room I've heard so many good things about, but I was so stuffed at that point I'm not sure I could have eaten anything else. Lastly, the cherry on top of an amazing night, Albert Adria actually stopped by the restaurant and we were able to take a photo with him!

Yelp
This a was fun one. Atmosphere is unique, relaxed, and playful. The food was memorable and each bite was better than the next. Every dish was extremely creative and thought provoking. Service was on point until we made it to the dessert room. At that point, the ball was dropped and service lacked. Overall, it was still a fantastic experience and worth while.

Yelp
A must while in Barcelona!! This ranked restaurant is a creation of the Adria brothers (of elBulli fame). We made reservations far in advance in anticipation of the food (as we were traveling on honeymoon) at midnight exactly sixty days prior. No regrets. The husband and I were seated in front of the kitchen (with a prime view of food prep) and opted to order a la carte. We started with the house beer (which was just okay) and began our food journey. Ham and cheese croquettes: tasty. Small portion., Raw oysters: fresh and delicious. Chicken over chicken skin: chicken was so tender and juicy and paired well with the extra crispy skin. Pork belly brioche: out of this world good. Melted in your mouth. Chicken in mole: so flavorful. Razor clams: so-so but inventive. Not a favorite. Stone crab: good but not worth the work. Iberico ham with air bread: light and tasty. When in Spain, Iberico. Mango cannelloni: this dessert was foodgasmic with beautiful textures and flavors. Black currant meringues: tasty and very delicate. in flavor and texture. The worms: lovely presentation in a flower pot. The tickets cone: a MUST. Wheeled out on an ice-cream cart and composed in front of you with a "newspaper" cone (printed with an article about Tickets). Magical. The dishes, or tapas, here are finely crafted and beautifully presented in a kitschy manner. The interior and exterior are just as kitschy but perfectly embody the Tickets theme. In addition, the pricing is appropriate given the quality of the food - our dinner cost less than 125 euros and we were satiated. Highly recommended for a fun dining experience. No need to be dressed to the nines either. Three thumbs up!

Yelp
We were so excited to try this place; it was honestly a countdown from the moment I somehow secured reservations. It helps to aim for a weekday when it's not as busy. Having tried a few Jose Andres' Spanish restaurants in the States, I thought I knew what to expect but the food here was still on a whole other level. The food was just so interesting that the BF and I literally sat there and discussed each item we had as we had it. The ingredients tasted so authentic and true to Spanish cuisine but the preparation and presentation was so unique. I don't like olives and I loved(!) the olive starter. My favorite was a salted cod with lemon on a thin little wafer. The tomato gazpacho was ice cold and a little bitter but so refreshing. We had oysters, a little cod sandwich, razor clams, and the best stuffed quail I have ever had (I would hands-down have licked the plate clean). To make it easier in terms of ordering, we just had the chef's choice. It is customizable in that you can set the price. We set it for 75 euros/person. After drinks and everything it came out to 160 euros for both, which we thought was well spent. This is a must in Barcelona!

Yelp
Emperor's New Clothes! We were apparently "lucky" to secure a spot at this place after arriving at almost 10 pm. We paid hundreds of dollars for a laughable and unsatisfying round of disappointing plates that weren't even substantial enough to share. The added theater of staff using tweezers to place thyme delicately on a thin slither of baked cheese was actually comical. Call me a philistine..but I just look for honest, real food. We ended up going to a cafe around the corner for an incredible plate of eggs, jamon and potatoes because we were still so hungry (total cost of 35 euros for 6 of us!) This place has convinced me that Michelin ratings are a red flag advising caution...do not enter!

Yelp
We did the restaurant menu but for next time I know what I liked and I would order a la cart. Wagyu beef steak was one of the best I had by far.

Yelp
Best place to eat and experience! If I came to Barcelona and ate at this place, I would be able to go home happily. The boyfriend and I took a last minute trip to Barcelona and therefore couldn't make many reservations, let alone for Tickets since you need at LEAST 60 days of advanced notice to make a reservation here. However, we were informed that if we came at 7PM (we arrived a little earlier, which is highly recommended) and waited in line, we would be able to take last minute reservation cancellations. We were the last "party" that was able to take a canceled reservation. We were overjoyed! It was my first time trying a tapas tasting menu, and it was so exciting to not know what kind of food you're going to get. It was more enjoyable that every tapas we got was so good! And it wasn't just the food, but the waitress instructed us on the best way to eat the tapas to get the flavors right. We had their (infamous) olivas gordal adobada & olivas verdial, pulpito al azafran, xuxi de semilla de tomate y anchoas. mini airbags de ques. huevo de codorniz en "nest", ensalada tomate, majado aguacate, ostra consome de melon, mejillones marinera, fritura de peix, patatas confitadas, mollete papada, pollo yauarcan, xuxi queso payoyo, gusanitos, roca volcanica, palet d'or, and these ice cream cupcakes that I didn't catch the name of. We definitely wanted more, but our time slot was only 2 hours long. Haha. It was definitely on the pricey side, but it was completely worth it. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The food was fun and tasteful and makes me yearn for more of Ferran Adria's food and/or influences.

Yelp
Food/Drink: When we arrived, we were presented the option of a la carte or a surprise menu. Prior to arrival, I had heard that the surprise menu could add up quickly since you don't have a say on the price of the dishes coming out, but we opted for it anyway. We were presented dish after dish of some of the most incredible and interesting dishes we've ever eaten. The menu will change, but ours was a blend of Tickets' famous dishes (olives, etc.), a large dose of seafood, and inventive vegetable dishes. The dessert was similar, where we were told they had 5 desserts planned for us, and asked if this was okay. The dessert was very good and the presentation was incredible, but didn't quite live up to the bar the meal itself had set in our opinion. Service: You are given two different wait staffs (one for dinner, one for dessert, and a sommelier during your visit. Prior to bringing out any dishes, our main waitress asked about our individual preferences (I like oysters, my wife doesn't), and asked specific questions regarding dishes she was considering serving. She was very attentive to our needs and the pacing of the meal was very good, not too rushed, but we also didn't have to wait too long between dishes. The sommelier provided very good recommendations for wine throughout the meal. The dessert staff left a lot to be desired after having a phenomenal experience during our main meal. They didn't not communicate well to the point where we didn't know if we were done with our meal or waiting on the next dish. If I had any complaint about this experience, the communication in the dessert room would be it. Ambiance: Great casual atmosphere for a restaurant of such esteem and quality. The service and food is top notch, but they're not stuffy or pretentious about it. It's playful and fun, but not "too" casual. Just the right balance for our taste. Value: Our meal, with about 12 courses, a few drinks and 5 desserts, ran about $150/person. Considering the quality of the food, the originality, and the level of service, I would expect to pay slightly more. I was pleasantly surprised when I got the bill Overall: An experience in dining that I would highly recommend if you can get in. Just understand what this is and what it isn't before you go. I have a feeling that some may be turned off by some of the inventive dishes presented here, if they aren't expecting it going in.

Yelp
You have to make reservations to eat here, which you can easily do three months in advance; time slots open exactly at midnight (Central European Time UCT). The site won't load at first (cause probably too many people on the server), but after about 30 mins of refreshing it should start to free up. We made reservation for Saturday at 7:30pm and the place was about 10% full (it really started to get packed by 9-10pm). My husband and I sat near the bar, by the door, and saw people without reservation getting turned away and getting recommended to their sister restaurant up the block. Anyway, this place was definitely worth every penny. Service: Excellent. Our waiter was very friendly and was really enjoying his job, explaining the dishes, etc. Food: think tapas with gastronomy. I'm not a fan of olives, but the olives (without the pit) was amazing! Price: definitely worth every penny.

Yelp
Tickets is delicious and so creative with their dishes. The desserts are awesome. $180 pp includes a bottle of wine. It was about 10 tapas dishes and 2 larger dishes (lobster and wagyu steak).

Yelp
As Out of towners that going to just spend a Weekend in Barcelona, My Yelp friend just have one request, it was to visit Tickets Bar. My phone went off right at midnight (Barcelona time) 60 days before our actual day of visit to remind me to make our reservation on line... and I was glad everything went smoothly as planned and we going to eat at Tickets Bar!! Fast forward! The experience was really memorable as I don't have a chance to experience molecular gastronomy in Toronto. We got to sit right at the bar watching all the action where the kitchen preparing all the cold dish. We shared: Tickets' olive-S Razor clams with refried sauce and lemon air Confit potatoes with Iberian cured ham and pork rib jus El Manteca" double chin "mollen "High level" Cow Tenderloin Confit artichoke with quail egg yolk and salmon roe Dessert: White chocolate and black sesame lava rock (presented on a pieces of rock) I really enjoy the playfulness and the presentation of all the dish we tried. Service was excellent and able to do 0.5/0.75 portion since we wanted to try more dish. The answer here is always yes, we can do it! This is what I mean by service! If you never been here, I would highly recommend you come to Tickets Bar and give it a try.

Yelp
What can I say about Tickets that hasn't already been said? An incredible meal that included the best single bite of food I've ever had (Avocado Pizza with Crab). We did the "surprise" menu with the wine pairings. I can't recommend the wine pairings enough. I'm one of those "all wine is BS" types, but it was amazing how the wine changed the flavor of the food for the better, and vice-versa. If you're in Barcelona and can afford $200 per person for a meal (obviously a pricey treat), you must go to tickets.

Yelp
Amazing tapas bar with a unique experience! Coming from NYC and living in Barcelona as a student, I was very excited when we got last minute reservations to tickets bar. The unique atmosphere (love love love the dessert room) and incredible tasting really leaves you with a wow experience. You are lucky if you get reservations because tickets is great! Expensive, but have the waiter pick for you what to order.

Yelp
Lives up to the hype. Although we didn't enjoy every single course, Tickets is a culinary adventure with ups and downs that both please and surprise. Like a circus show with both good and great performances, taken as a whole this was a unique, memorable, and delicious experience! We were in Barcelona for three days and unfortunately we hadn't made reservations for Tickets ahead of time. No matter, we showed up on Friday night at 7:00 pm and walked right in and got a table! We were told we had to be out by 9:15 pm, which seemed like plenty of time for us. It was not! We started with a bottle of Numanthia from Toro, which was outstanding, which moderate tannins, good structure, and deep fruit and chocolate notes. We loved it. The wine list is small, but includes some incredibly good values in the 20€ range. We started off with the tomato bread and iberico ham. The tomato bread was a bit underwhelming as we had had better bread at Paco Meralgo's the night before. The ham was outstanding, and delicious, but of course, this was a departure from the inspiring and creative dishes that Ferran Adria is known for. Our next course was the liquid olives. We found them to be a creative and fun dish, especially because they are served in an olive jar and our server pulled them out of the jar and placed them on a silver spoon in front of us. I found the novelty of biting into a liquid olive to be fun, but the olive was much too salty for my taste and I wish I had a glass of riesling to pair with this course because we each received three olives, when one was plenty for me. The third course was the creamed artichoke, which was my wife's favorite dish. The cream was a superb compliment to the fresh and beautifully ripe artichoke. The manchego cheese slice served on top of each artichoke heart added a nice dimension from a textural standpoint. A simply well balanced and tasty dish. Our fourth course was the cannelloni. This is a "must order" on the menu. A fun take on a pasta dish where not a single ounce of pasta is used here. Avocado is used for the casing and the ricotta cheese inside is actually a fish and mayonnaise salad. Topped with parsley, dollops of cream, and olive oil, this was a large serving and truly enjoyable dish. The fifth course was the fish taco, where butter lettuce was used instead of a tortilla. It was a light dish with excellent fish, but just a tiny, tiny bite. We should have ordered at least two. This course was followed by a half dozen oysters. The oysters were larger and served with olive oil caviar. I thought it was a clever touch to include the caviar, but the olive oil actually seemed to detract from the beautiful flavors of the oyster itself. I kept wondering what oyster would taste like without the olive oil. Regardless, it was a an enjoyable dish, but I wasn't quite sold on the olive oil caviar. Our last dish was the hamachi sashimi. Seven pieces of incredibly fresh and superb cuts of hamachi. This was another large and filling dish. The hamachi had been seared very lightly, which gave it a slightly firmer texture, but it was a fabulous way to end the meal. Overall we had an excellent meal at Tickets. Our server was very friendly and helpful and each course was both memorable and unique. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we ordered a second bottle of wine to continue our wonderful meal. I must say that although it's expensive, I never felt like it was over priced. The portions were large considering the format is in the spirit of molecular gastronomy. In fact many would consider Tickets a bargain from that aspect. They have really embraced the casual and fun aspect of this culinary movement. Our bill came to 200€ including two bottles of wine, which I thought was a bargain. Although I did not enjoy 100% of every course, each course was a unique take on it's typical nature and was an adventure with ups and downs, which adds to the excitement of the evening, much like a circus act. Bravo Ferran!

Yelp
My friend booked this restaurant 2 months prior to our trip and I was ecstatic! Knowing the reputation of the restaurant and the food I was about to experience sent my taste bud to over drive. We are all a brunch of foodie and love to indulge when it comes to good food. As we were seated, our waiter and waitress was very much detailed explaining the menu and we all chose the surprise menu cause we wanted to taste everything. The first couple of dishes was good, we all had similar food throughout our stay. As it progresses, the favors became unfamiliar and bland. We kept getting appetizers that either they're cold or flavorless, and 6 plates in we were all done with the surprise menu. In our mind, we were like when are they going to get to the good stuff? But it felt like they wanted us to keep going so our bill kept going higher. It wasn't satisfying, So we stop the surprise menu and ordered real food. We wanted meat, so we ordered the Wagyu steak that was $100 usd. Meat came out and we were like that is not Wagyu. It's not buttery and fatty. There was no marble, so we know it was the low end of Wagyu.. Anyway, I was not impressed with dinner. High expectation, low score on the flavors. Overall the staff were great, presentation was good, the food to us was not. Maybe our palettes wasn't feeling it that night. . We probably tried everything on the menu, except the crabs. If you go for the experience, it's a great place. But if you're a foodie, then don't go for the surprise menu. Not worth it.

Yelp
REVIEW #500!!! Has your food ever been presented to you on a tree? Have you ever eaten a miniature Nordic landscape covered in powered vinegar snow? Have you ever had ultra tender grilled octopus served on a glass box emitting clouds of smoke? I have. And it was glorious. Yup, Tickets is one of those dining experiences that stays with you for a long time. And to think it almost didn't happen. Even though we missed the window to make a reservation, my girlfriend and I were so determined to dine here that we booked our Airbnb 2 blocks away just so we could try to walk-in each night. On the first night, we were told there were no openings and they sent us to Bodega 1900 across the street. That proved to be a great meal, but our time in Barcelona would not have been complete without a visit to Tickets. On the second night, we were again turned away. But after pleading with the hostess, she spoke to the manager who allowed us to sit at the bar. Success! We opted to let our waiter create the meal for us. What followed for the next 2.5 hours made for one of the most memorable dining experiences I've ever had. If presentation isn't your thing, you will not enjoy Tickets. Each course was something totally new, unique, whimsical, creative, provocative, and special. There's beauty in the creativity. But most importantly, the food was overall very good. I didn't love everything, but I didn't hate anything either. I recommend: -Summer Tree with Cherry: The presentation is just so fun and unforgettable. I forgot what the cherry tasted like but it wasn't a normal cherry. -Crunchy Pizza with Bufala Straciatella: Like an air crisp pizza served with buffalo cheese spread. -Basil Air Waffle: Two adjectives I never would have thought to put before waffle. -Tuna: Prepared tableside and served in a nori seaweed cone. -Delta's Eel: Sort of like a mini pork bun but with delicious eel. The brioche is super fluffy. -Nordic Landscape: More art than food. But it's food so I ate it and liked it. -Crunchy Octopus with Pickled Piparra: The most tender, meaty octopus I've ever had. After the savory dishes came the desert. The waiter served us 3 amazing deserts and was ready to finish our culinary journey when I asked him how many different deserts they had. He told me eight. I then told him I wanted all eight and my stomach had no regrets. The best and most memorable were: -Lychee gelatin orb served on a real red rose -American "Pancake" which was more of a crispy cream filled pastry serve with blueberry jam -Carrot cake shaped like a carrot -Strawberry salad prepared table side Chef Albert Adria deserves all the praise he's gotten for Tickets. I will always remember my time in Barcelona and Tickets is a large part of the reason why. Do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. But try to make a reservation first :)

Yelp
Let's start with the good, the FOOD. Tickets had some of the tastiest dishes we sampled during our recent trip to Spain and France. In particular, the Wagyu steak with charcoaled heart lettuce and soufflé potatoes was amazing. And the bone marrow eggplant with glace potato and tarragon was one of the best bites of food I've had in recent memory. The chef clearly knows what he's doing and the whole menu is a creative, unique line-up designed with foodies in mind. Now let's turn our attention to the not-so-good... The ATTITUDE. I sought out Tickets because it was on several of my friend's lists as one of the best restaurants in Barcelona (though none of them had actually been). I was sucked in by the hard-to-get-a-table process and jumped when a reservation for four opened up three days before we ended up dining there. There were five people in our party, so I wrote to the confirmation email address asking if it would be possible to add a fifth spot to our reservation so we could all dine together. I was told it was not possible to add another slot and to "please respect the number of our reservation." Fine, but how do you think it makes a consumer feel when you're told that only to come in and be surrounded by no less than four empty tables and 12 open chairs? It put a bad taste in my mouth before we even set foot in the building and during our entire meal. The SERVICE. When we arrived, we were promptly seated and were waited on by a team of two. Our main server gave us the a la carte menus and also walked us through the tasting menu option, where the chefs curate a surprise menu based on your personal preferences. When we told our server we wanted to go a la carte, she was a bit pushy in continuing to recommend the tasting menu and, once we were firm and told her that was not our journey, it was almost as if she wrote us off for the rest of the meal. Her demeanor changed to one that was short and brusque and it felt like we were an imposition to the remainder of her evening. I understand the tasting menu is probably a special experience, but if that's the only thing you want diners to try don't offer them an a la carte menu and make them feel less-than when they opt for it. The VALUE. In all fairness, Tickets does not sell itself as a restaurant where you get the most bang for your buck. Quite the contrary. Still, it's worth noting that the steak I mentioned above cost €80 (or $90 USD) and our table of four only got to have about five bites each out of it. When another server came toward the end of the meal and confusingly offered us an invitation to a dessert room from a treasure chest (?), we had already spent enough and were so underwhelmed that we opted to get our bill and go to a Burger King about three blocks aways so we could fill the remainder of our half-empty bellies. (That's not shade, it's just the truth.) The bottom line? If you're an avid foodie who wants to try some interesting dishes and don't mind dropping a sizable sum on an evening with sub-par service, give Tickets a try. But if you're anyone else, focus your search on the tons of other places in this world class city that offer a greater value, higher levels of service, and that all-too-rare feeling of European charm.

Yelp
Overall bad experience. Food was pretty average across the board with the exception of a few plates (avocado pizza, quail, and the 'Nordic' plate). Staff is all over the place and with their own confusion around the kitchen and around the customer they tend to be away for long periods of time (mistakenly place plates on other tables, do not too your wine continuously, etc.) I would not recommend this restaurant. The price is way too high for the experience and food quality.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place 10 stars!! Hands down the best meal I've had on the trip or ever actually.. it's ranked as top 42 best restaurant int he world! It was such an amazing experience and I think everyone should be able to have this experience. You'll need to make reservations 2 months in advance. We ordered almost everything on the menu.. well actually they picked for us but we probably ate the whole menu. The place is themed like a circus which was really cute. Every dish was just amazing and made you go "woah" each time something touched your tongue. Food: -Olives: Changed my life for olives forever! The best -Basil air waffles: wow -Crunchy Pizza: so good and loved the cheese -Nordic Landscape: So cool and yummy -Octopus: The best one i've had in Spain! Must order -Chicen and air: Very interesting and very good -Manchego cheese on mini airbag: best cheese ever -Tuna hand roll: they come out and make it in front for you -2 different oysters: Both were awesome! $6 each wish I could of eaten it all -Shrimps: actually could of done without it but still great For dessert.. ask if you could go to the secret dessert bar! It was so fun and felt so cool that we got taken to the back for it. When you first got seated it looked what just a flower in front of us but behold we were able to slurp the middle jello it was good! At this point we were pretty full but of course wanted to try all the desserts! It was all amazing too. Basically had a 7 course dessert tasting... overall our bill was about $200 for two people. I can't stop thinking about this place..

Yelp
It was what I expected. This place is an experience that flirts with all your senses. Very whimsical decor. If you can, come and experience this place for yourself.
