Where to Eat the Best Tacos in Nashville | Eater Nashville

"Tempo is owned by Texas-born percussionist Javier Solis and his family, who opened the shop in 2018. And if there’s one thing most Texans know well, it’s breakfast tacos. The Nolensville Pike shop offers nine true Texas breakfast taco iterations, including chorizo and egg, bacon and egg, sausage and egg, and potato and chorizo. Catch ‘em Thursday through Monday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m." - Ellen Fort

Tempo Nashville - Review - Nolensville Pike - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Come to this casual family-owned Tex-Mex spot for breakfast tacos and a solid cup of coffee. Mix and match your tacos, but always get one loaded with their crispy potatoes. Wash it down with an iced dirty horchata, and you’ve set yourself up for an excellent day. Tempo has also become a wonderful third space for South Nashville—you’ll see young professionals taking work calls, college students studying, and friends catching up over lattes. Plus, they also frequently host events where local artists share their work—one night you can dance to cumbia, and another you can check out a free night market with a ton of vintage. photo credit: Kelli Dirks photo credit: Kelli Dirks photo credit: Kelli Dirks photo credit: Kelli Dirks Pause Unmute" - Anas Saba

The Best Coffee Shops in Nashville | Eater Nashville

"Great lattes — and real-deal breakfast tacos on fresh tortillas — are the name of the game at this Nolensville Pike coffee oasis. Founded by former Texans, which explains the strong breakfast tacos game, Tempo features Houston’s Greenway Coffee but has recently dabbled in roasting its very own coffee. There’s also a Texas egg scramble and sweets from Dozen Bakery on the menu. Keep an eye out for special events, like karaoke, which take place on the shop’s small stage." - Ellen Fort

Very nice! Kinda has a coffee shop feel. Food is excellent, and authentic! Added bonus is the live performances that happen there! Stage is a cozy size! I look forward to performing there! The owners are awesome! Will be 1 of our new spots to chill!

Google
Good coffee & cookies. In a weird strip mall, but the location is nice, and they have a fenced patio area to sit outside. Plenty of on-site parking. They also serve food, but I didn't try it.

When I saw this place, it reminded me of a masonic lodge for whatever reason. I don't know what the food is like in one of those, but I bet it's not as delectable as the food here! I was born in Texas and I do love my TexMex! The burrito bowl (which I took to go) was pretty spectacular. As was the dirty horchata! And something I noticed in particular, the staff was so friendly! Even the guy who came out and delivered out to go order did so with a big friendly smile. I totally recommend!

Google
Blown away! Hit Tempo for a morning coffee run at my husband's suggestion. I was suspicious that they could deliver outstanding coffee with great food like he claimed. Well, they did just that! I am very picky over good coffee, specifically espressos and americanos, where the actual coffee bean can be tasted. The food was falavorfull. I had an egg and steak bowl. Eggs were fluffy, steak tender, and perfectly seasoned. My husband, a self-proclaimed foody, thorughly enjoyed and complimented his tacos and dirty orchata. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which added to the pleasant experience. They have a stage step up. We'll have to head back to check out some live music as well.

Google
🌮☕ Food is amazing. Steak egg and potato taco...mmmmm. The potatoes are crispy and seasoned. I almost ordered a separate order of just potatoes, but I was already stuffed. Tacos are filling. Two did me in. I could handle a third on the right day. Coffee is decent (I got half sweet and was still too sweet - sweetness masked the coffee itself). Atmosphere is ok. The location doesn't give many options. Feels dark. The type of lights give an odd vibe. Has potential but doesn't quite give me vibes to want to hang out.

Google
My only qualm is that my cousin and I ordered the same drink, but the amount in the cup was not the same.(The picture shows both drinks untouched, so you see what I mean.) Setting a standard in making the coffee being uniform is the only thing missing here. What this location carries a lot of is flavor, authenticity, and that Texas heart. I may be a native Tennessean, but my heart belongs to the Lone Star state. My order: Guava Jarrito (I screamed internally, cause these are hard to find.) Half Mexican Vanilla, half Texas Honey Cinnamon iced flat white. It was absolutely amazing. ( I definitely ordered one to go. ) My bowl was a build your own. Steak, eggs, beans, queso, jalapeños, and potatoes. Their food comes in the cutest bowls, portions are normal, but most Americans would find it small. KEEP THAT IN MIND, if you're a "hearty" food person. Do not say they're overpriced for the portion, just go to waffle house. If you have the time to sit in the cafe, do it. The music isn't too loud, it's spacious, and comfortable. A little chilly for me, so bring a sweater!

One of my favorite places in town! The tacos are always fire (their house green salsa is the best) and their oat milk lattes are very good. Service is always fantastic. Family owned, too. Tempo is a Nashville staple.

Google
Breakfast tacos and the Texas Scramble are the best. You can tell that everything there is made and served with love! A+++

Yelp
Zaila was so friendly and informative (not bias at all ) this place has great food, vibe and people. She was telling me that they have live music and different events, The tacos were even better than I remembered. I had cheese, eggs and bacon. The salsa is delish! It's not on the thick side but juicy and perfect for slurping, ha! (Sorry mom). The potatoes are good too. Honestly you can't go wrong with the food. I also got the Dirty Horchata (thank God I have self control) it's addictive and should come with a warning. Definitely worth the stop. They are in a shopping center next to a laundry mat on Nolensville Road closest to the Geodis Park Stadium. I can't find the picture with the events but check their socials! Definitely come check them out!!

Yelp
Tacos and coffee are arguably my two favorite food groups ... so finding a local spot that does both well is a BIG deal. I met a friend here for a late breakfast/early lunch earlier this week and I am still thinking about this hidden gem in South Nash. Parking is easy (and free) in the attached lot. I read up on the owners before stopping by, and I love that their family is actually from Texas. They even source their coffee beans from Houston. Breakfast tacos are a Tex-Mex staple, and Tempo has a wide variety of options available at a great price. I went with one Potato & Bean taco and one Potato & Chorizo taco, along with a Vanilla Oat Latte at the recommendation of my friend. Everything was delicious - and two tacos was the perfect amount of food for brunch. The cafe itself wasn't too busy ... and the service was friendly and fast! I can definitely see myself stopping by Tempo for some more tacos soon.

Yelp
Tempo is a staple of mine almost weekly whenever I'm around town! I love their Iced Mexican Mocha latte with a hint of cinnamon. Their breakfast tacos are also incredibly tasty and pretty filling. I love their Tex Mex offerings! Love their space and plenty of seat options that make it a great place to work, read, or simply enjoy a delicious bite w a friend! Staff is friendly and kind and remember a familiar face.

Yelp
I really liked this hotel. We stayed here for one night so we could attend some events in Nashville. The facility was very clean, and very modern. Rooms were spacious. They had top golf in this location, which was cool. We didn't go there though. The pool deck was nice, but the weather was bad so we didn't get to use that either. They had an awesome cafe on the ground floor that I highly recommend for breakfast, lunch or brunch. They made great coffees. One thing that was really neat about the room is the bathroom mirror had a Bluetooth function that you could connect to and play music through. Only negative expert was dealing with the parking and valet. It was quite an event to pull in to drop the car off. Then when we were trying to get the car, we c requested about 15 min before we needed it, but the car still wasn't ready after about 25 minutes. It appeared they had damaged someone else's vehicle and wouldn't give us our keys to get our car.

Yelp
This is a great place to get tacos and coffee. They have are super fast and friendly service. Be sure to check the hours on their socials, because they are not correct on Yelp or Google. I want to say they close at 2pm always. They have a stage set up so I think on some days they offer live music. They have tons of seating inside and extra parking in the back. Tempo is worth checking out for the yummy authentic tacos.

Yelp
Here again, at my second home! Highly recommend the chorizo potato taco on corn with bean dip inside! Also, the Texas Wildflower Honey Cinnamon Latte. I actually care deeply about the staff & their positive vibes! The ambiance is great for time alone to read, to work, or to connect with a small group!

Yelp
If you are looking for a quality delicious and fast tacos, tempo is the way to go. I definitely recommend ordering from the app, even if you plan on dining in because it's just smoother and faster. They have communal style seating or a bunch of tables if you want to sit with your party. They make their own tortillas in house. The egg and chorizo taco is definitely a crowd pleaser, I love the bean cheese and egg. If you want an extra treat the cheesy potatoes are to die for! It is a larger portion so recommend sharing as a side. I was surprised at the quality of their coffee, so good! And they also make an in house tea that is super refreshing: also, if you have a sweet tooth. They have a variety of coffee syrups like horchata such a treat. I love this place!

Yelp
Delicious Breakfast Tacos! I finally got to try breakfast inside the Tempo restaurant after having eaten their tacos at many NSC soccer games. So glad I went, and I plan to go back again soon. I ordered 2 breakfast tacos, and that was the perfect amount of food for me. Each taco came with what seemed like the maximum amount of fillings the tortillas could hold! The steak and egg taco was cooked perfectly. The steak was tender and the eggs were just firm enough to hold the taco together. I added some spicy ketchup and it was perfect. The Potato & Chorizo taco needed no additional sauce. It was perfectly seasoned and will definitely be my go-to taco next time I visit. The restaurant was super clean and the staff were friendly. The menu is focused and a bit limited, but everything on it is tasty. I strongly recommend Tempo for breakfast tacos!

Yelp
This was so delicious! I'm so glad I finally got to try this place out. The coffee was absolutely delicious and the tacos were the perfect size. I got two and was full enough for breakfast. Definitely would recommend this shop to be people who love a good texmex option and a great cup of coffee. They also do live music inside their restaurant as well.

Yelp
A hidden gem in South Nashville! On Sunday morning for brunch, the line was pretty short and we were served our breakfast tacos reasonably quickly. The potato wedges are cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, adding a fantastic texture to each bite. The tortilla was soft, the complementary salsa fresh and tangy, and the other taco ingredients all very tasty. Will be back!

Yelp
Best breakfast tacos in town. They are super simple but simply delicious. I am partial to the bean and cheese breakfast tacos, though I also love the bacon, egg, and cheese taco. The tortillas are legit and not just something out of a bag. The coffee is good, too. And the staff is always friendly. Note the hours. They close at 2pm and are closed a couple of weekdays.

Yelp
Some of the most consistent lattes in the city! Breakfast tacos are delicious! i always get the potato and chorizo and add onions and peppers.

Yelp
I reviewed this place like 3 years ago as "superb", and I always like to revisit places for a while to see if they hold on to what makes them special. Well, without a doubt, Tempo is still "superb". I'll elaborate more this round by saying it's not only a piece of Texas, but they are consistent and genuine in every respect. Pulling excellent espresso shots, you never miss a beat with any coffee drink, absolutely outstanding! And, I believe it's the ONLY place in Nash that makes an authentic Mexican mocha. Chill atmosphere and I love the deconstructed piano made for condiments ha. They make great hot sauces and even carry this amizod smoked sauce that is possibly the best I might have ever had. You can tell that the family running it really cares and you couldn't find more friendly people. Definitely in the top 3 breakfast spots in town. Texas plate--chorizo eggs, beans and taters into tortillas from scratch!

Yelp
Tempo is hands-down my favorite breakfast spot in Nashville. I always order the potato and sausage tacos and add a little drizzle of the green salsa. Their coffee is also a standout. I am an oat milk latte fan and Tempo has the best ones in town. The taste, presentation, and texture are always on point. There is always plenty of seating and the staff are the nicest people. Check it out!

Yelp
Tempo Nashville is the ultimate COVID-safe coffeehouse! I have only started going to Tempo Nashville recently, so I've never been inside the building. They have completely shifted to curbside service and it couldn't be easier! I order through the website just a few minutes before I want to go and then everything is ready when I get there! When you arrive, you text them that you are there and a friendly masked employee brings your order to your car. It really couldn't be simpler! The iced chai latte is my favorite drink! Tempo uses Chai Wallah concentrate for their latte which is the best chai in Nashville in my opinion. I had been missing their chai after not seeing their stand in a little while. I was so happy to find a coffeehouse that offers them regularly!

Yelp
I was in the area after an appointment and needed to start working, luckily tempo was down the road and so I figured I'd finally give them a try! When I walked in, I found lots of free seating, and a very kind and patient stuff ready to take my order! It took me a second to order, but I ended up getting the café Sua Da (Vietnamese Coffee) and three egg and potato tacos - even better, it felt like the food came out seconds after I ordered it, always a great sign especially when you're really hungry. The Vietnamese coffee was amazing, right up to par with many of the Vietnamese restaurants that I've been to in town and the tacos hit absolutely different - pro tip: pair it with their green sauce! After all of that, I went back and got a an iced, and it was absolutely delicious, they mentioned that they had just switched to a new vendor, and I'm really glad they did because it was so flavorful! On top of all this, they have a great space for working from home or getting homework done! I sat at the bar and they had a outlet right there, I don't see that very often and I definitely helped because my battery was not fully charged. Wi-Fi was very fast and gave me no issues. I definitely see myself coming back here when I'm in the area!

Yelp
FINALLY. Auténticos desayunos Tex-Mex. My new breakfast spot. As a Tejana that has to navigate dining out with Lupus, I'm stoked that they have almond flour tortillas as an option. If you've never had almond flour tortillas before, they're like wheat flour tortillas for people that are celiac or have autoimmunity. They taste like the real deal too - you won't miss wheat flour tortillas. If you're truly celiac you should ask for them to not warm the tortillas due to cross contamination potential.

Kristen G.

Yelp
The tortillas and the steak and that flat white. Oh. My. I can't wait to return. This place feels like love.

Yelp
3.5 I am rounding up for a few reasons. 1.) I am always psyched to see new businesses pop up in this part of town. 2.) I am always psyched to see new-to-Nashville cuisines make their mark (true blue Texas-style breakfast tacos are hard to come by in the 615). 3.) I am always psyched to see a diverse coffee menu. From Vietnamese sweet drips to Australian flat whites, there's more going on than meets the eye. Tempo Nashville is worth the visit. Given the hours, I came here for a breakfast meeting. Happy to find plentiful parking (they share a lot), I was the first person to walk through the doors (at least, at that time). By the time I left, though, there were plenty of people noshing and having conversations. Despite being the only non-employee in the space for a minute, I never felt uncomfortable. That's because I was greeted by the chef/owner and by the ladies behind the counter. Everyone was very polite and cheery and that makes a big difference -- especially in the coffee shop space. My friend arrived and we got to the business of ordering. I was hungry and knew I wouldn't be eating for a while so I ordered the scramble. It's a plate order that comes with eggs topped with cheese and mixed with onions, peppers, salsa, and your choice of meat (always choose chorizo), beans, potatoes, and tortillas (either corn or flour). I was going to have a Texas sweet tea but then I noticed the latte flavor options. Apple cinnamon? Yes. I'll take that. Because it was early in the morning, my brain forgot to make me ask/look for hot sauce. Amateur mistake. Before too long, the food and drink was ready. I made tacos from the two tortillas I had and ate the rest of the plate with a fork. Like I mentioned, I flaked on the hot sauce but that could have really amped up the plate for me. The chorizo had a great taste and texture (it can be tricky) and the potatoes are as good as advertised. My latte wasn't as successful. I had it made with almond milk and, while beautiful to look at, I found the flavor to be a bit 'tinny' and I didn't pick up on the apple cinnamon notes. Next time I'll hit the horchata or Mexican hot chocolate. Tempo Nashville wasn't a slam dunk for me but there were enough nice things going on that I look forward to returning. I love seeing businesses trying new things in different parts of town. All you Texas transplants, have at it. I think this may be your favorite new spot. Non-Texans, fear not. There's plenty for you to enjoy as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Verdict: 3.5 stars. I'll round up because I wanted to like it so much, but the tacos were really just okay. The horchata was phenomenal, though my wife's latte was just okay. Being from Texas, my wife and I can appreciate a good taco. When our Texan friends who live in Nashville told us Tempo had amazing breakfast tacos, we had to check it out. First off, the inside is very minimalist, which is fine with me. They have a really cool old piano that serves the water. Parking is definitely not an issue, with spots in the front and some in the back. Service was impeccable as well. They told us it would be a bit because they had just gotten a large taco order, but everyone was super polite and made easy conversation with us. We started off with a latte for my wife and an horchata for me. The latte was nothing to write home about, but the horchata was the best I've ever had. Just mhmm good. Food-wise, we got a Texas scramble with chorizo, a potato and egg taco and a chorizo and egg taco. We were kinda disappointed all around. While the scramble was okay, the tacos were relatively flavorless and the salsa didn't add much to the equation. Needless to say, we were sorely disappointed, maybe because we came in with high expectations. I honestly don't know if we'll be back; maybe if we can convince ourselves to give it another try? We'll see.

Yelp
As a Texan living in Nashville for the last 2.5 years, it continues to blow my mind that breakfast tacos just aren't really a thing here. You can find them at a few places, but they're not everywhere (in Texas, they're EVERYWHERE). So it was time for a place to fill that gap! And here enters Tempo! Tempo was opened by a San Antonio native - a drummer who moved to Nashville for his music. It has a simple menu - a scramble with frijoles and potatoes and a few kinds of breakfast tacos. It's also a full coffee shop. So we ordered a few breakfast tacos (bean and cheese and bacon, egg, and cheese), a latte, a cappuccino, and a Topo Chico. And it was a little bit of home! I'm pretty sure the tortillas are made in house (you walk past the small kitchen area when you walk in), which is great. And the salsa we asked for on the side was very good, as well. The service was great. And the place itself is cool. I write a lot of reviews where I write "I'm looking forward to another visit to X restaurant" or something similar. But before we had even left Tempo, my husband was already texting people: "BREAKFAST TACOS IN NASHVILLE" and inviting people to come with us next time we visit. So this time, I won't say I'm looking forward to visiting again - I know I'll be back soon. Very soon, probably!

Yelp
Tremendous spot for breakfast tacos. Solid portions and fresh ingredients. I normally order two/three potato and egg tacos then add bacon. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Adrienne S.

Yelp
A little seasoning goes a long way. I ordered 2 bacon and egg tacos and expected it to be seasoned and come with a little cheese and maybe a little crema fresca? Nope! The eggs weren't even seasoned with salt and they just slapped a few pieces of bacon on top and served it on a taco tortilla. It was very tasteless and salsa didn't help much. The tortilla was really good though. I also ordered a vanilla iced latte and that was really good! There was no wait, which was good because we were able to get in and out. The food comes out relatively fast and the staff is friendly. The food is just so bland so I wouldn't come back.

Great breakfast. Good tacos friendly staff. New and updated hours. Picture attached! Need asap

Yelp
Being from South TX and picky about tacos... I have been looking for a year and half for a good breakfast taco that taste like home. I found it here! The coffee selection was awesome & service was great! I felt like I was back in Texas. If you love good breakfast tacos and coffee.... This is the place!!
google avatar

Nicolette T.

Yelp
This place is awesome!! I walked in looking for some tacos, and was greeted with simple but amazing flavors. I went with a potato & egg taco, and a potato & chorizo taco. Both were great, but I had to go up for another potato & egg taco. They have homemade salsa & horchata available. Parking outside is plentiful as it is in the middle of a shopping strip. The inside is nice & big, with plenty of seating. I cannot recommend enough!
google avatar

Justin C.

Yelp
These might end up being the best breakfast tacos in Nashville. They are filled to the brim with all of the ingredients. I recommend any of the tacos with potatoes. Also, they have corn and cassava tortillas!
google avatar

Jayme H.

Yelp
Tempo's breakfast tacos are consistently delicious. The coffee is shockingly good too. The team pays attention to every little detail and provides exceptional customer service. I can't recommend this place enough. My go-to taco is egg and potato with cheese and green peppers on corn tortilla.

Paige H.

Yelp
I moved to Nashville 6 months ago have tried a Mexican restaurant every week in a desperate attempt to find something that can even slightly resemble the food from my hometown of San Antonio. When I ate the bean and cheese tacos at Tempo, I nearly cried. I truly felt transported back to my childhood breakfasts before school. The tortillas are definitely homemade and authentic. I had the Mexican mocha latte, which was perfectly flavored and clearly was made by an experienced barista. The owner took my order and the service was very fast. The ambience is really lovely as well. They have a piano converted into a drink and salsa station, tables with church pew seating, and soft inviting lighting. They also have a small stage which I assume they use for live music, which I'll definitely come back for. I'm so so grateful someone serves quality breakfast tacos in this city, and am definitely becoming a regular here.
google avatar

Gracie B.

Yelp
My review of this place from 2 years ago was 5 stars. Unfortunately, that is not longer accurate. Tempo has gone downhill. Buyer beware, the peppers and onions are added to the taco raw (ew) and the salsa that you have to pay a whole dollar for now is a tiny little plastic taster cup. Cashier was also not kind. So sad :(
google avatar

Sara Beth G.

Yelp
They made the drink wrong. I asked them to remake it because I noticed the guy didn't shake up the horchata and it didn't taste at all Like horchata (I had the drink last week). I asked the girl to remake it and she told me she'd have to charge me. I asked again and she refused. Won't ever go back. Then she said "I'm sorry you don't like it" as I walked away.

Yelp
Y'all. This place is a great little hidden gem off Nolensville. The tacos are BOMB. I had the egg and potato taco and it was the best thing I've ever eaten. The coffee was good. I usually only ever get black coffee, and the black coffee here was good. But seriously. The tacos. Omg. The decor inside seems to be a bit of a work-in-progress. I'm excited to see what it looks like next time I'm there!

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee shop in Nashville. I don't daydream about breakfast tacos from anywhere else in this city. When women write about tacos in their dating profiles, this is the glorious tortilla-wrapped joy they're talking about. The tortillas and salsa are both homemade and otherworldly. (My usual taco order is egg and potato.) They also get baked goods from local bakers (I need to look up who) and all I'm saying is when they have donuts, you need to do yourself a solid and get *at least* one. Not sure if it's the shape of the room or what, but even when it's busy in there, it's not terribly loud. Tempo is what a local morning hangout should be. The coffee is amazing (try the dirty horchata), the music they is always great to work to, and the staff are thoughtful and sweet.

Yelp
Tempo is one of my consistent breakfast go tos for a few reasons - the coffee, the tacos, and the quality. Tempo is in South Nashville and provides a unique menu to the other breakfast places around town, and hosts a Mexican cuisine inspired menu for its drinks and food. I love their espresso (the dirty horchata has espresso!), and for food my go tos are corn tortilla tacos with egg, peppers and onions, and occasionally chorizo. I also adore their homemade green salsa that comes with their homemade tortilla chips. When I'm feeling a bit hungrier I will go with the egg platter which also comes with refried beans which is a fun twist. Tempo is just down Nolensville Road south of 440, and they provide quick service which is a plus. Did I also mention their food is super fresh and not greasy? Absolutely delicious!
google avatar

Paul D.

Yelp
So good! Oh so good! These were easily the best breakfast tacos I've had in Nashville. The tortillas are perfect! Pictures don't really do it justice. They look kind of plain, but you can tell the top notch ingredients and perfect seasoning from first to last bite. Everyone was cool. The vibe was good, so was the coffee. I'll be back soon.

Yelp
Tempo is bringing the TexMex-style breakfast to Nashville and I am here for it. I like that they do curbside service (safe in COVID times) and have an easy online ordering system for convenience. If you do want to order a weekend breakfast just be ready for about an hour wait, so I would order before you're even hungry. I ordered a salted caramel cappuccino and two breakfast tacos. The breakfast tacos start out pretty basic but then you can add more things onto them to make them exactly what you want. The add-ons appear to be .50 or $1 more depending on the add-on. I ordered one chorizo and egg taco and added cheese then one potato and bean taco and added sausage and cheese. They give you salsa on the side, which I appreciated. When you arrive you text them then they come out and deliver the order. I was on-time but my food and drink were nice and hot. I will definitely be back for their delicious breakfast, what a treat!

Yelp
Interesting music themed coffee and taco spot. Not sure if they have live music here, but there was banned equipment set up and the back of the shop. The coffee was good. The tacos were average. I think that the big breakfast plate is the best item on the menu. It comes with two tortillas, eggs, cheese, potatoes, beans and a choice of meat. Service was fine. You order at the counter, bring the number to table, and then they bring the food out to you. At the end of the meal, we were not sure if we should bus our own table so we asked. There's actually a trash counter towards the front where you can take your dishes when you're done, though they said they would bus our table for us. We just set our dishes up there when we were done. We went on a Sunday at one, and it was completely empty. By the time we left, the place was about half full. Not sure I will go back, since it is out-of-the-way for me. But I think it's a great option if you frequent the area.

Yelp
To all the skeptical Texan transplants who worship their breakfast tacos, let me just say that this place was recommended by a friend from Austin and it lived up to her standards. Have been several times now but am just getting around to writing a review. I think I've now tried every variety of taco and, to my surprise, the winner is potato and egg. It sounded boring, honestly, but the potatoes are so well spiced and crunchy that it makes for amazing texture AND flavor. The chorizo is also top-notch. All of them come with a super tasty mild/medium spice salsa as well. On my most recent visit, I saw someone else receiving their order at their car (takeout only during covid) and they got an iced coffee with horchata?!?! Instantly regretted not ordering one myself. It looked so amazing. Not a chance I won't order that next time.

Yelp
This place is my go-to for breakfast tacos. Every person who I have fed with one of these tacos says the same thing. Perfection. Try anything with the potatoes because those potatoes are the bomb. Crispy and crunchy and delicious!

Yelp
The people that work here are so friendly and kind and the food is amazing! It has become a bit of a tradition for my friends to get breakfast tacos before having a special boat day! I came along this morning and all the food and coffee is amazing! And our server/delivery guy was so kind and friendly. We all love this place. Today marks their 2 year anniversary! Go and support this awesome business and have some fantastic food and coffee!

Yelp
Still love the breakfast, no doubt. Salsa magnifico. This time I tried the Mexican hot chocolate. It is neither hot nor terribly chocolaty. Tepid chocolate milk describes It best. Oh well, next I'll order the mocha then I'll try the flat white. This time I tried the scramble with chorizo. I'm not overly fond of chorizo although I always try it again from time to time because it's sausage. Everybody makes theirs differently. I've seen verde chorizo and I'd love to try that, (green chorizo.) Seems like I saw it at Mas Fresco. Anyway, I liked Tempo's chorizo well enough, (no heart-burn,) but I prefer the smoked sausage they offer, next I will order the bacon. I'll dial in my favorite options eventually. For me, this is a can't miss breakfast. I'll even try the hot chocolate again when I get a different barista, maybe ask for extra hot, extra syrup & hot chili! Andele!

Yelp
Consider supporting this family owned restaurant during this time. Tempo breakfast tacos! Best in Nashville - hand made tortillas, the salsa is fabulous; they are doing take out.

Yelp
Love the tacos and used to think they were the best in Nashville. They stopped cooking peppers and onions and just put them on raw (which nobody enjoys). Service is fast but kind of rude. Still would recommend to a friend.

Yelp
Excellent tacos, quesadillas, and coffee. Get the dirty horchata too. Can't recommend this place enough!

Yelp
Shouldn't he so shocked that these tacos were amazing, but I still am. These tacos were the best breakfast tacos that I've ever eaten. I got two potato and egg ones and they were extremely filling. I could've eaten one and still have been fine. They weren't small like most tacos. Yum!

Yelp
These are the best breakfast tacos I've had in Nashville. I recommend ordering the Texas Scramble plate, which comes with little crispy potatoes, refried beans, and scrambled eggs with onions, peppers and cheese. (Plus bacon/sausage/chorizo if you like.) Build your own tacos with the soft, warm flour tortillas. And opt in for the salsa for the perfect topper. These folks know what they're doing. Tempo is pretty simple & low-key inside, not your typical flashy Nashville spot. The employees are friendly and welcoming, and the coffee is great too.

Yelp
When I heard there was a new family owned spot in Nashville that had two of my favorite things: coffee and tacos, I had to check it out. When I walked in I was greeted warmly by the whole crew behind the bar. I then had a ton of questions which they answered thoroughly without judging me for having so many questions. My boyfriend and I were interested in the Texas Scramble since we weren't starving and it seemed pretty large. There wasn't an explicit vegetarian option for this dish but we were able to get either more eggs or more potatoes. We opted for more eggs but next time I will for SURE get more potatoes. The eggs were great but the potatoes were incredible and we both wanted more. There's also a bean and cheese taco, so there's 2 veg options and plenty of breakfast meat options as well! I was a bit skeptical about the coffee aspect since nearly everywhere in Nashville has coffee and some are hits while others are big misses. The coffee here was actually really great! I got a flat white and it had a balanced flavor and it was executed really well. (It had nice latte art too) They have a full range of espresso based drinks as well as tea, sweet tea, drip coffee, iced coffee, and a horchata. They also have Topo Chico, which goes great with tacos. They use Greenway Coffee - a roaster from Houston, TX. This is fitting since the cuisine is Tex-Mex and the founder is from Texas himself. It's always fun to see a coffee roasted from a specialty toaster outside of Nashville since you can go to 10 different places to try Nashville roasted coffee. The atmosphere is subtly music themed- the lights are cymbals and the condiment station is an old piano. There's also a stage which leaves room for live music events. It's a very unique and fun space. When we left, everyone said bye to us, including the crew in the back rolling out fresh tortillas. I definitely felt welcomed here. If you're in to tacos, coffee, and pastelitos, swing by Tempo soon- but make sure you come early because they close at 3 weekdays and 4 weekends.

Yelp
I am pleased. BREAKFAST TACOS. And the folks that opened it are from TEXAS so you know those tacos are LEGIT! Ever since I heard this place was opening, I was giddy with excitement. So today I went to try it out. This is a breakfast/lunch coffee shop place with a small menu. It has a egg scramble option, a bean and cheese burrito, tortillas and butter (a definite Texas thing y'all), and blah blah TACOS! The tacos are potato and egg, bacon and egg, sausage and egg, or chorizo and egg. They also have an extensive coffee menu with a variety of choices. I got two tacos - bacon/egg and chorizo/egg with a side of salsa and a flat white. Once you order, they will give you a number and you grab your napkins/utensils, any hot sauce that you want (you want), water, and take it all to your table and wait. They called our name when the coffee was ready and had the numbers out for the food delivery. So...the tacos. YESSSSSS, this took me back to Texas in a good way. Chorizo and egg with homemade tortillas, homemade salsa, and some hot sauce really hit the spot. My mouth was burning after I ate it and that made me happy. The bacon and egg wasn't as good because it wasn't chorizo, but there was nothing wrong with it. I would like the option for some cheese as well, that would really make it better. The tortillas were the honest super star of the show, they were so soft and fluffy and fresh. Their coffee was also tasty - I almost bought a second flat white. The space was new and sleek and open with a very casual vibe. Everyone was friendly that we encountered. There's a small stage with some band equipment set up like maybe they play live music when they feel like it. Nice! I have been waiting for breakfast tacos in the Tex-Mex style to make it here and finally they are showing up. I intend to come back.

Yelp
I've visited Tempo twice now and both visits have been delicious, friendly, and comfortable experiences. Baristas and staff are all super welcoming and willing to talk about different menus items/coffee choices. Coffee is always high quality, and I highly recommend an order of the breakfast tacos made with the home made tortillas. Each time we've been management has come out to personally greet us and you can tell this is a well orchestrated family business (which I'm happy to support). None of the snobbery or pretension that is present in many other Nashville coffee shops, and all in our neighborhood!
