"Ten Tables is close to the ideal neighborhood restaurant, a place with a seasonal menu where just about everyone who comes in seems to be familiar with the staff. It’s tiny, with only a handful of tables on one side of the dining room, and a small bar on the other. But it doesn’t get claustrophobic and that bar is the kind where you’d consider bringing a book. And the monthly themed wine dinners are a good excuse to keep coming. You won’t really need an excuse, though - it’s the type of place that, if someone suggests going to, you’ll agree without needing to think about it." - dan secatore

"Quick: what are your life goals? Achieving career success is a pretty important one (or at the very least, finding a job that doesn’t make you contemplate quitting to become a farmer every morning). Finding a life partner who hate-watches all the same Netflix stuff as you is good, too. And getting your sh*t together enough to actually go to the dentist every six months is admirable as well. But if it isn’t already, becoming a regular at a great neighborhood restaurant should be incorporated somewhere in the blueprints for future you, too. You need a place where you can always get a last-minute reservation because the host knows your name. Where you’ll always get your favorite table if it’s available. Where a free drink is sent your way every now and again (without the expectation that you’ll listen to someone talk about Crossfit for 20-30 minutes and then ask for your number). photo credit: Natalie Schaefer Ten Tables is the perfect restaurant to be just about anyone’s regular spot. Come here once or twice and you’ll soon find yourself building a relationship with this place. It’s a small, comfortable spot in Jamaica Plain that feels like an extension of your living room, even if you don’t live in the neighborhood. And they frequently change up the American menu with things like themed wine dinners on Sundays and pasta specials on Thursdays, because as in any relationship, things are going to get stale if you don’t mix it up (a lesson you and your hate-watch partner will learn after you run out of broody detective dramas that fail the Bechdel Test). You won’t be the only regular here. On any given night you’ll see people waving goodbye to the kitchen staff after polishing off pappardelle that’s topped with a rich pork, veal, and lamb bolognese. The bartender might join a hightop table for a quick drink at the end of the night, and you might even see the host hug the very JP-esque couple who have lived around the corner for 30 years, are probably professors, and know how to correctly pronounce Foucault. Don’t be jealous that you don’t get Ten Tables all to yourself. Jealousy destroys relationships, and besides, it’s not like this is the only restaurant you’re ever going to eat at again, either. Treat it right though, and it’ll be there for you with a bar to lean on, a glass of wine, and a smorgasbord for years to come (it’s already been around long enough to sneak schnapps from its parents’ liquor cabinet). It’s a place that will always find you a last-minute table when you’ve got friends in town even if it’s slammed. Or it might even connect you to a local farm when you’ve finally had enough of your desk job. Now get yourself to the dentist, and you might just find that you’re starting to figure this life sh*t out. Food Rundown photo credit: Natalie Schaefer Moroccan Chicken It’s pretty much just a perfectly cooked piece of chicken, and it doesn’t hurt that it comes with spaghetti and a nice dill sauce. Tagliatelle Pork, veal, and lamb all together in one bolognese. If Marvel ever runs out of superhero teams, they can take some inspiration from this dish and make a movie about three rag-tag meats who come together to save your supper. This is the type of pasta you feel bad about for always ordering but then order it again anyway because it’s just plain good." - Dan Secatore

Google
The food was really good, the only reason it wasn’t 5 stars is because how tiny the tables for two are. We could barely fit two plates on the table and it just felt extremely cramped inside. If you go with a bigger group and get a table it would probably be best!

Terribly disappointed with this place. The starter, butternut soup, was amazing but that was it. I had a seared salmon as my main and it was terrible. Taste was flat and the dish also smelled off. My husband had a sirloin which he didn’t enjoy either. Wrt service, they had one waiter who was clearly overwhelmed at the time we were there. Atmosphere was okay and it was nice and warm inside.

Wow, just wow! The food is spectacular. The menu doesn't include a llot of choices, but everything we got was absolutely amazing. I was pleasantly surprised by the chef's willingness to accomodate a very picky-eater kiddo. Kiddo loved her pasta and had a great time. Ordered tuna crudo and crabcakes - the best ever. Did not know it could be this good. Would love to have same every day this week (wish i could afford it). Portion size is perfect. Atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, yet romantic. Lovely dinner for Farther's Day.

This is an update to an earlier 5 star review, after my friends and I visited again. JP has many restaurants where you not only can get good food, but have a good time. For me, at the top of the list for a good time and absolutely fantastic food is Ten Tables. The place is joyful, familiar and friendly. We had mussels that were the best I ever had. The halibut was succulent and the brisket pasta was such a comfort food. Thank you Krista, Randy, Cristina and the staff for allowing us to have a wonderful evening.

Had a wonderful experience at Ten Tables. Their cheese board was laid out beautifully. A mild, soft cow cheese with a sharp, hard goat cheese. A few jams, bits of fruit, olives, and honey complimented each of the cheeses. I opted for the hanger steak as my main course. It was, without a doubt, one of the best pieces of meat I've ever eaten. This steak was so tender, it didn't know which state of matter it wanted to be: a liquid or a solid. Wonderfully salty and juicy, it's triggering some subconscious memory in my mind and making my mouth water. The wait staff was professional and attentive. The dining area itself is rather small. It seemed like they did have more than "ten tables", but it probably wasn't much more than that. If you want to eat here, I would *highly* recommend getting a reservation. There were people already lined up at the door as they opened for dinner. While this is marked as a triple-dollar-sign restaurant, I'd consider it on the cheaper side of that category. An entree will only run you about $25, and you can get a tasting menu for only $50.

Ten Tables is a very enjoyable, homey, comforting experience but the price point suggests something a little more intellectual or surprising. We came here on a Saturday evening right when they opened at 5:30pm and were greeted a little strangely -- like they were surprised to see us. The restaurant was empty of customers but it was also definitely past their opening time, so I was confused by the polite if bewildered reception. No matter -- we grabbed some high-top tables in the first room when you enter. We ordered the lavender cocktail ($14) and a glass of rose (somewhere in the same realm) and while the rose was thoroughly forgettable, the cocktail was nice. It was as close as I've ever gotten to drinking a lavender-scented drink without feeling like I've buried my nose in a pile of soap. It was pisco-style, and the froth on the top of the cocktail was nice. For food, we got the shrimp dip, the TT burger, and the orecchiette. The shrimp dip was a little too salty but otherwise perfectly comforting -- creamy and cheesy to pair nice with crisp crostini. The TT burger was yummy as well, topped with crisp lettuce, two pieces of fatty bacon, a sauce that resembled McD's special sauce, and a big hunk of a patty cooked medium as I requested. The orecchiette also tended to saltiness although the pasta was nicely al dente. Wish there had been more mushrooms and kale, though. Finally, for dessert we ordered the blueberry upside down cake. The ice cream (vanilla or sweet cream) was practically melted by the time we got the dessert, but the cake itself was nice, jam-packed with blueberries and sort of crispy on the top. Overall, we paid $125 for the meal. Their entrees run $30 per (except the TT burger) and most appetizers run $10-20, with sides running $8. Cocktails are expensive at $14 each. I think Ten Tables is a great, homey restaurant -- it serves up comfort food, sort of like what you'd want a REALLY awesome pot luck where everyone just nails their home cooking to taste like. It just doesn't really blow me away, and with $30 entrees I might go to some place more innovative or off the beaten culinary track.

Google
It was not great. The food was way too heavy. The grilled salmon with sourkraut and baked means was a total flop, the tastes just didn't work together. Service was good and the ambiance was nice

Pete J

Google
Food is usually good. Service is just ok. My phone didn't brink up the menu after scanning. I asked for a paper menu. Bartender told me they didn't have one. Got up and left then noticed on me outside. How can you not have a paper menu? Ordered the burger medium rare. Came out medium well. How does that happen in this type of place. Burger was very average for $23 price point. Attn chef and owner go order a burger medium rare at prairie fire in Brookline. Now that's a proper burger at roughly the same price point. Your burger will look like burger they sell at Gillette Stadium compared Bartender took orders in the dining room side too I believe. Hardly ever saw the guy

Yelp
I want to start by saying I had an absolutely incredible experience at ten tables. I came here the other night with my girlfriend and her parents at they visited. The service was absolutely amazing everyone was so friendly and being able to see the kitchen cooking your food was very fun. I got the seared salmon and was thoroughly impressed. I also got a banana bread old fashioned that was very tasty. Overall this was a great experience and I'm looking forward to coming back soon! They also seem to have great deals on Tuesday and Thursdays and I'm looking forward to checking this place out on one of those nights!

Dennis M.

Yelp
Came back here a year later to a very different experience than last time we visited. First off the prices for food and drinks were high. For the two of us with one appetizer, one drink each and an entrée it was nearly $180 without the tip. Thats a lot for a JP restaurant. Next the food and drinks were delicious. I had the salmon and it was perfect. My friend has the steak frites and she loved it. The drinks were lovely as well. So why three stars -- the service was absent minded. Twice I had to go get the server to either have him take our order or to close out the tab. We suspect he was the bar tender standing in for the wait staff. Either way it put a damper on our visit, that and the price of the meal

Simone P.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the service was great. Small restaurant but everything was well done and it didn't feel cramped at all. The cauliflower was delicious but the stand out was the park Ave beef meatball dish that was mouth watering! The popper spread left a lot to be desired, but everything else so great and the waitress was very attentive so I will definitely be back.

Stephon M.

Yelp
Made reservations on a Sunday night for one. The service was perfect and had the right amount of balance. The waitress helped me decide between the salmon and the steak. The steak was great! A bit on the salty side but i like salt so it was fine with me. I ordered it medium. I was stuck between two wines and the waitress gave me a sample to help decide as well. The ambiance is great here as its small but busy with a nice dim lighting.

Pete M.

Yelp
Four of us retired folks came to Ten Tables after a Huntington matinee on the first Sunday in June. The menu looked good, but most dishes had side features with confusing names. Us old folks all have things we avoid: salt, hots, etc. The burger is always the choice of last resort for me - three of us ordered that. My wife, who is avoiding meat, got a side dish and a salad. The American-Wagyu beef was good, but not as good as the ones I grill with Angus beef. $23. Three of us would not go back. The other said he would, but not for a long time. The bill arrived with a 7% kitchen administration charge. (I assumed this was tip, or do we pay extra to actually have the food cooked?) I figured, double that for the tip and round down, 20%, right? My wife was having none of that, left a cash tip of over 22%. Good feelings all around :-(

Andrew L.

Yelp
Dined here on a Friday nite. Place was very full. Service, as mentioned by others, can be a bit challenging and u need to flag them down for orders or update on drinks. My wife ordered the salmon (we were not asked how it was to be cooked) and it came out so well done and dry. Son had a burger that was fine. We also ordered the lamb lollipop. To be honest I don't even remember what I ordered since it was not that memorable. We had some appetizers and drinks but overall the experience was unremarkable. Food was average to all right, nothing to rave about.

Michael S.

Yelp
It pains me to write such a negative review, but such a bad experience warrants the effort. My family of four went on a fairly busy Friday night for a graduation celebration in May, eagerly anticipating a fine meal, based on my wife's and I experience of many years ago, and what a disappointment! The service was friendly, if not always consistent and attentive, and the appetizers were quite good, not fancy, but pleasing, hence the extra star. However, a different story for the entrees: my daughter, son, and I ordered the duck pasta, while my wife had the burger. Firstly, the burger meat seemed very good, but overcooked and a sloppy mess, very poorly executed and any seasoning was undermined by the general liquidity! The theme continued, however with the pasta with duck, which made the burger look good. Huge portions of overcooked pasta, (another theme, it seemed), with watery, seemly boiled bits of completely unseasoned duck, still swimming post mortem, in a pool of murky water. None of us finished, nor did we take the proffered "doggy bags". What a sad and expensive meal, considering how good this restaurant was many years ago-we were all dumbfounded by the lack of basic pasta skills, and quality control in the kitchen, so much so, that we still talk about it as one of the worst ten meals ever! We will never return, and I cannot recommend it.

Carol K.

Yelp
Food good The bartender, server, & host was all one person. Minimal attention, clearing given during our meal. Open concept to view the kitchen, chef & dishwasher. Horrified when dishwasher came out with her pinesol smelling mop to clean up a small spill in dining room!

Bea T.

Yelp
Finally was able to eat here as it's a very popular neighborhood restaurant. The food is excellent! Service friendly! Great crab meat, hanger steak, and morrocan chicken! Tres leches cake is delicious too. Highly recommend.

Ma C.

Yelp
We loved the intimate setting and the fact that there were so many great options to choose from that we had a hard time narrowing it down. We ended up with crab cakes, a delicious chicken dish that had depth of flavor and whose richness was complemented by creative vegetable accompaniment, and a perfect dessert. We will be back!!!

Michael M.

Yelp
Very disappointing. We've heard of 10 Tables for years. Always highly recommended. We tried once about two years ago during COVID but the experience was very underwhelming. We chalked it up to the epidemic. We gave 10 Tables another shot last night but they are still off their game. As another customer commented the service was off. Appears the server we had too many tables. She was hosting as well. We were seated and gave her our drink order. BTW we were told all there beer taps were not working. Not a good sign. Another couple were seated next to us 10 minutes after us and they received their drink order before us. Food was overpriced as well. I had the lamb lollipops for $32. It arrived with three small ribs that were way over salted. My wife's crab cakes were very light in the actual crab cakes and more just veggie/breadcrumbs. Almost wanted to complain but assumed that would add more time to our meal. We just finished our entrees and left. Never to return. Sad for a restaurant that was on the "go to" list.

Yara F.

Yelp
Came here for a small friend reunion and had a great time sharing plates! We had a 9pm reservation on a Saturday but showed up at 8:30 and they were able to get us in early! we ordered most of the menu and loved everything we had. Crab dip was to die for and my gnocchi was a hit with everyone requesting multiple bites. Drinks were also good, my favorite was the mule which was perfectly balanced. Service was efficient and quick, the team here knows how to serve! Would definitely come back, great spot for a group or date night!

Chris M.

Yelp
I showed up early at 5:00. The only parking is on the street. I was fortunate asi found a space right in front. The restaurant is dimly li. I would recommend making reservations as there are only ten tables. I sat in the bar area because I was a walk-in. I specifically requested salmon plain with vegetables and that is exactly what I received. It was right odd the grill. Nice and hot. I would come back again if I had the opportunity

Sadie G.

Yelp
How do you let customers make reservations during the week you are on holiday? Or - how do you not contact your existing reservations once you have decided to take the week off? I made a reservation more than a month in advance through OpenTable, it was confirmed and I even got a reminder the day before. Drove an hour to the restaurant for an anniversary dinner and it was shuttered. Is it really not possible to block out your holiday week in OpenTable, or to look ahead to your week off and call the people who reserved?

Emily C.

Yelp
We went here recently for our anniversary. I noted that in our reservation and the waiter brought us two glasses of champagne which was so sweet! We had an arugula salad to start which was so, so good. We also had the focaccia, which was meh. Things i really was not a fan of: -it was incredibly warm. It was a hot night, and they have an open kitchen so I guess that's why?. I should have asked to move to the other room but didn't want to make a fuss, and the other room didn't seem much better. -They do that dumb thing with the QR code menu, which is annoying on its own, but then it doesn't take you directly to a menu. You have to hunt around for it. -In an effort to be minimalist, I guess, they don't say much on the menu about what's in the dishes. The waiter made sure to ask if we had any allergies, so that was good (we don't). But I ordered the homemade gnocchi, which just listed Alfredo and parmesan. But I actually also has mushrooms, which I detest. I was full from our apps so we just took it home for my husband to eat later, but i was pretty annoyed that they wouldn't list such a critical ingredient. I think it probably tasted good otherwise? Maybe? My husband had the pork ragu pasta. I was not a fan but he seemed to like it. Also, I think you should come with a European mindset about service speed. Enjoy some unrushed conversation with your dining companions!

Ally B.

Yelp
Ten Tables may be a small establishment, but the service and food was impeccable. In fact, I generally do note eat chicken but decided to try the giannone moroccan chicken that comes with roasted fingerling potatoes, sautéed green beans, harissa, scallions, au jus. I have never had roasted chicken this good. The food was filling, portion size was perfect. I also wanted a mock tail and did not specify which kind, just that I wanted it to be sweet. To my surprise, it was delicious and I could barely stop sipping. Happy that I took the chance and I will be back. Check out Ten Tables, they won't let you down!

Karen I.

Yelp
The steak was delicious!! The pasta and octopus were good too but gotta give it to the steak for it being the fastest! Pretty up there for pricing wise.. but I would say overall the food was pretty good! Steak is a must try! the restaurant is a pretty small casual type environment and would be good for a small get together (make reservations ahead online) or for dates!

Nan D.

Yelp
We were excited to try Ten Tables in Jamaica Plain as we had heard quite a few good things. Parking was easy to find around the neighborhood streets. We were able to get seated quickly around 7:30 pm on one of the high top tables on a Thursday. It's a perfect place for a casual date or outing with friends. Atmosphere(4/5): Warm, cozy, romantic atmosphere. It's a small place with 3-4 high top tables near the bar and then another small room with another 5-6 tables. While the lighting was slightly dim, we could read the menu fully with no issue. Space is a limited so be prepared for close tables. Food + Drinks(4/5): While the menu is small, it menu changes often, so we will definitely be coming back to try some more of their creative dishes. It's clear they prioritize quality and seasonal availability of local produce with the different menu items available. We tried the Korean fried chicken, burrata salad, scallop risotto, steak and frites. We loved the chicken and burrata salad, and thought they did an excellent job with different textures and flavors. The steak was cooked perfectly and the French fries had the perfect crunch. While the scallops were slightly small, the flavor was wonderful. We also ordered the crème brulee and the chocolate flourless cake. We were slightly disappointed by the dessert given that the crème brulee was quite cold, and the flourless cake was slightly soggy. We will probably be back to try the rest of the menu, but will likely skip ordering dessert. Service(4.5/5): We were greeted immediately at the door and seated pretty promptly. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with the ordering. We did have to flag down our server to be able to pay the bill and clear the dishes, but that may have been due to the large parties that arrived after us.

Zaraid J.

Yelp
Flavors - 3.7 Textures - 4 Presentation - 4 Value for Money - 4 Would return? Yes Must-try: Brussel Sprouts The Brussels sprouts were freaking amazing. They tasted mustardy, crispy shallots were crunchy touch. I liked how they weren't oily and they were tender but not burned on the outside. The octopus was very interesting. The almond romesco sauce tasted earthy and nutty with a hummus-like texture. The octopus was tender enough to break with a fork and very well seasoned! Vegetables were pickled and together made a very innovative, delicious combination. The jalapeno poppers had a weird texture on the outside, not crispy but not soggy either. The inside was chewy because of the bacon - the jalapeno came through but it had more ham/bacon than anything. The sauce underneath was a nice touch but it also made it heavy. The steak dish was surprisingly disappointing. It was tender and well seasoned but very oily and the chimichurri was tasteless. The asparagus was super oily as well. The pepper sauce on the bottom was great but not enough of it and the mashed potatoes were nothing too special, although it had tiny pieces of pickle that were amazing with the steak. PROtip: ask which new dish is coming out next and they might let you try it!

Angela L.

Yelp
Surprised the "kitchen appreciation fee" is increased from 5% to 7% in a span of maybe ~1 year ish. I'm not paying your kitchen staff, the business owner should do that. This unfortunately, is affecting how I view some restaurants in Boston as I do not like to feel cheated. It's sad because I have always enjoyed it here (and loved the basil gelato they had the one time), but the last time I visited, service was very slow (the place wasn't full but there was only one person working at the tables. For one of our entrees, the chef had to bring it to us from the kitchen). Food was fine, but I got a surprise at the end of the meal when I got the bill and noticed that they tagged an additional 5% onto the bill (I learned that it's a disclaimer at the bottom of the menu). The kitchen staff should be paid a living salary or wage and that cost should not be offloaded to customers. This fee culture in the US seems to be getting a little out of hand. The tables are quite small but the atmosphere is still homey so I didn't mind. It does make eating a bit difficult if you have multiple dishes and multiple people as you easily run out of space. However, based on my most recent experiences, I haven't been back in a while and don't really want to.

Yelp
Dinner for 2 on Valentine's Day. Exceptionally bad food and lackluster service. One bright spot were the cocktails. I know one should not expect the highest quality service/food on Valentine's Day, but what we were served was an affront to what 10 tables used to be. The food across the board was terrible. Squishy rubber squid, steak that was flavorless and clearly cheapest possible cut, underwhelming desert. Just an all out embarrassment compared to how 10 tables used to be 10-15 years ago when it was a true treat to dine in. Highly recommend you bypass this establishment. We, for one, will never return.

Mike M.

Yelp
Nice place with cozy ambiance. We've only been twice in our over 12 years in JP as it's a bit pricey and we usually reserved it for special occasions. We hadn't been in a while, and had an anniversary approaching so we made a reservation and headed out. As I said previously, we hadn't been in years, so we weren't sure what to expect. Everything was as we remembered, cozy and small, sometimes a bit too much so. The food was a bit lackluster. I ordered a lamb shank which was completely unseasoned. I was really surprised. It had been some years and this was only our second trip, but I thought they were honestly a bit better than this. Maybe it was just an off night, and we got a bit unlucky, but I think we're unlikely to revisit given the prices.

Marcello A.

Yelp
Horrible service. My girlfriend and I were there for 1 full hour and our waitress came by one time for a drink and app order. At the end of the hour I spent 10 minutes trying to wave down our waitress to get the check since we didn't want to wait for entrees, but I was unable to do so. I had to get the check from the bartender. The tables next to the bar are incredibly small. Very cramped space. Our app (crab cakes) was pretty good, and the burgers LOOKED amazing. I have a pretty low bar for slow/bad service and this is the first review I've ever written, and I'd never go back here. The food is not worth it.

Lise C.

Yelp
We were so excited to go to Ten Tables - everyone has told us it is one of the best places in JP. Sadly we were continuously disappointed with the meal. The waiter was unbelievably rude and completely disregarded our table. When we asked where our food was, he basically laughed and kept walking. We had finished our appetizers 10 minutes before our drinks arrived. Our entrees didn't show up for another 30 min. For having just "ten tables" the service was horrendous. I will mention the good: The steak was phenomenal as was the tuna crudo Chicken was take it or leave it. Caesar salad was pretty forgettable.

Ivette L.

Yelp
It was okay. It wasn't what we were expecting. Is good for a wine or cocktail, in a Friday night after work.

Rhonda L.

Yelp
The food and drink were bc better than advertised. We had a terrific meal. The waitress was quick and cheerful.

Jyotsna S.

Yelp
Visited for a drink with a friend and forgot my red knitted scarf, Made by my mother. Have been calling and left an email, it's been a few weeks and no one has bothered to respond to any contact. Their voicemail box is full for weeks. Ridiculous. I probably will never find that scarf again but had to vent my frustration about this completely unnecessary issue. Lame.

Julianna N.

Yelp
Meh, honestly the food was pretty good but so overpriced. The restaurant seemed incredibly short-staffed. There seemed to be one server doing everything, from hostessing to serving to bussing tables.

It just doesn't really blow me away, and with $30 entrees I might go to some place more innovative or off the beaten culinary track.

Yelp
Last night we had a milestone celebration for my daughters 30 birthday. The food was amazing-highly recommend the pasta bolognese, lobster risotto, chicken and chocolate soufflé. My daughter loved the old fashion. BUT what really made it special was the service. Despite a busy Saturday night they knew we were having a special occasion and brought us complementary glass of wine, consistently checked on us and put a candle in cake-all unprompted. Because it is a small restaurant we had to make our reservations almost two months out. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I am editing my review, as we have been coming here for years and have had nothing but great reviews and experiences. They do $1 oyster specials on Sundays at the bar and $15 pasta+wine Thursdays. The last three experiences we have had here have been okay to sub par. Really disappointing, I think we are done coming here, when we go out to a nice restaurant and pay a lot of money we want quality, after having two bad experiences here in a row, I think we are done coming here, so sad, we were both bummed. We used to have to make a reservation ahead of time and if we walked in we would have to wait to get a space at the bar, but now every time we have come in we could literally walk in no wait. I will say the staff and service is very friendly, we do always love sitting at the bar. Drinks: The drinks we have had the last couple of times have been off consistently, not that great. We have tried an array and they have all been meh. Appetizers: The focaccia bread we had the last two times was dry/stale consistently. The pork dumplings were okay, but nothing special, very bland and plain, I didn't feel like they were worth the money. The crab dip was way too dry/overcooked and stiff along with being fishy. Dinner: The burger we had was very sloppy and soggy, not even close to being recognized as a burger, pretty bad. The orecchiette was very dry and bland.

Yelp
Leaving pretty undecided. The food was okay a bit overpriced and the ambiance didn't really match the cost of the menu. The cocktail list was very limited. Don't think I'll be back but overall a fine experience.

Yelp
Had a very pleasant date night here. We have live nearby but never made it in until tonight. Service was so friendly, and very attentive, even splitting up plates for us. We came on a Sunday where there was a pre fix menu we did not know about, but the waitress was helpful and accommodating. Drinks were phenomenal, and food was yummy and interesting. Would have liked a bit more variety to choose from, and ore veggies definitely. All in all a great meal though, and the ambiance of the space was nice and romantic.

Yelp
This is a cute place. This was my second visit. I came for the pasta and wine for $15, which is every Thursday. The 1st time was a few months ago for their Sunday supper which is 3 courses for $40 per person. I really want to like this place, but the food is just ok. I don't eat out often but when I do, I really want to enjoy what I'm eating! The staff is pretty friendly though.

Yelp
Unfortunately really bad. Came in with high expectations. Paid $150+$20 tip for their Valentine's Day special menu. Stood outside for 20 minutes past our scheduled pickup time to be rudely told they're "busy." Appetizers were good, so that's what saves this from one star. Seafood pasta had 2 mussels, which had no mussels inside of the shells. 2 scallops, one of which was shriveled to look like a raisin, and 2 clams, one of which was clearly bad. Chicken came with roasted potatoes and green beans which were sadly cafeteria vegetables. Not good at any price, shockingly disastrous at $170.

Yelp
The pasta and burger days deals are amazing! Who does not like good food and a great deal!

Yelp
Pretty yummy! Got the broccoli quinoa cakes and they were great. My friends got the steak frites and the salmon and both seemed happy with their choices. Great service too!

Yelp
Ten Tables and Tres Gatos have to be my top two in the JP area. Everything they do here is really top notch and the setting is very intimate and quiet. First time I came here I simply got the pasta and it was one of the better pasta dishes I've had in Boston over the last year. Cooked Al Dente and to perfection. Second time I came I went with braised pork and it was equally delicious. The menu is always changing and bar drinks are always kept interesting. Will be coming back as much as I can!

Yelp
Multiple times there. Always great. Small, that's the beauty! Staff so attentive, food soooo good. Wonderful evening.

Yelp
I had such a great experience coming here for the first time! We went here an a date night and it was definitely a great atmosphere for that. The staff was extremely friendly and explained to us about the different wines we were tasting. Get ready for a long background story of each wine! (Wasn't super long but it was very interesting to listen to.) They also poured out a good amount of wine for us, definitely no complaints there! We chose the 4 course tasting menu and it was very filling. Prosciutto & fig salad, sauternes vin, arugula, pickled kale, vincotto- This was delicious and I have no complaints about it at all. A great starter and definitely very refreshing. Red beet & mustard soup, crispy pancetta- This was a bit too salty for me. It wasn't too bad but we would have enjoyed it more if it was less salty. Marinated hanger steak, with basil pesto, israeli couscous, english peas, cipollini onions, mint puree- This was delicious! I wish they had asked ahead of time as to how we'd like our steaks cooked. Luckily, I'm not super picky but my steak was quite rare. It was delicious though! Limoncello creme brulee, strawberry jam, candied pecans- This was definitely my favorite! I love creme brulee and this met my expectations. We weren't great fans of the candied pecans but the lemon flavor in the creme brulee was really delicious and subtle. The only complaint I have is that the place is a little small so it was a bit squishy but still manageable. It was loud in there but they placed the chairs of each table so that couples were sitting next to each other as oppose to across from the each, which was definitely a good idea so we weren't screaming across the table. This place was definitely a great find. Don't forget to make reservations!

Yelp
I went in with low expectations and left unsurprised and unimpressed. The meal was average at best, a good crispy salmon skin, typically slightly overcooked meat, and a pathetic accompaniment of ratatouille that I can't possibly recommend. Nice service though.

Yelp
We went to Ten Tables recently for an anniversary. Hadn't been there for a couple of years. We used to go there regularly because it had a special atmosphere, excellent food, and a wine sommelier. It was disappointing. Service was haphazard, with various waitstaff stopping at our table every five minutes asking the same questions, the wines offered were minimal with staff not familiar with the offerings -- told us to go ask the bartender in the next room -- and the food was the most disappointed, with tiny portions, not well prepare3d. At the end, I said to my table mate, "I feel like I just finished eating in a burger joint." Won't be back.

Yelp
They do a deal on Thursdays with a bowl of pasta and a glass of wine for $15. It changes every week but whatever it was last week was so good!! Very cute place with good vibes and nice staff. The kitchen is open on one side so you can get the full wafts of the food as its being cooked. First we had ordered a board that had so many great things that you could combine together or just eat alone. Then we both got the pasta and a glass of wine that they already have pre chosen; you just say red or white. Then we ordered the baklava and lemon tart. Both were to die for and so flavorful!!!! Loved them and would definitely have them again. Great experience and will definitely be back.

Yelp

Yelp
Time for a new review! Ten Tables continues to be the place in JP if you want a romantic, gorgeous ambiance, great drinks and friendly staff. Their food hasn't kept pace though. (As some others have noted.) And they basically have nothing for vegans to eat. Not even dishes they can modify. It's 2020 and if you're a good restaurant in Boston and can't have at least one entree that's vegan and delicious, you're just lazy. The old Ten Tables in Cambridge, which is now Forage, on the other hand had makes their own vegan sausage! (and really great meat dishes according to friends) Since I live around the corner I'll probably keep coming here for a drink, but no more attempts to actually have dinner. I hope they evolve on the food front eventually.

Yelp
My wife and I had dinner there tonight. I had the finest salmon dish I've ever eaten. It was Salmon over cauliflower rice (which I normally hate), with fresh peas in a lobster cream. The Salmon had a fantastic char on it, deep brown giving the salmon a little crunch without drying the fish out. The cauliflower rice, peas and lobster cream just WORKED. My wife had the risotto, which was served properly hot and was very moist without turning the rice into mush. It was perfect seasoned and served with shaved cheese. Staff (both kitchen and servers) were very friendly and helpful. When we left we turned to each other and asked why we don't go there more often. By the way, if you flatter the Chef Mendez enough he slides you a gratis desert...

Yelp
The tasting menu there is such a good deal! There were 3 of us there and many of our courses we had were different dishes from each other. So we ended up trying more variety of dishes because we would share. The cocktails are great as well!

Yelp
Had the chef menu, it was ok, nothing special but ok.iI didn't like the Orio cake it was tasteless, very milky and super sweet. Two stars for two simple reasons: the chef did not use gloves and was constantly touching his sweaty forehead. He was also talking loud with the other employees who were not very skilled nor had a clue of their menu. We asked our server to explain the plates and she clearly had no idea whatsoever. Very disappointed!

Yelp
I'm sad to be doing this, but if you have a bad experience it needs to be shared. The menu I was given had food on it. The plate that I was served with was chipped. When I asked for limoncello and was told they were out and would be given a replacement cocktail I was charged the greater price (and would not have gotten the drink had I known that). We had two servers and never knew if things were entered because I ordered a drink and then the second person came 30 seconds later asking about drinks. I voiced confusion and it continued. My tequila cocktail was good but tiny for something that was not Manhattan like (not 99% liquor). The baba ganoush was too thick to be able to dip bread in. The cauliflower was really good and the highlight of my experience. The chocolate cake and raspberry ice cream was good but nothing to write home about.
