Family‑run since 1959, Terita’s is beloved for its sweet‑leaning sauce and house‑made sausage on a crisp, square‑cut crust. Recognized by NBC4 and national pizza media as one of the country’s standout independents, it’s pure North Side tradition with no frills.

Google
Pizza is my thing. I try to scout out the best spots everywhere I travel. This was honestly some of the best pizza I’ve had anywhere. Everybody’s got their style preferences when it comes to crust and sauce and all the toppings, I get that. But in my book, I can’t recall ever having had a better pizza. The cracker thin crusty was chewy on the inside slices, and perfectly crisp on the rim. The sauce had a slight kick and the perfect amount of sweet. And whatever cheese blend they’re running was way good. I always order a pepperoni pizza, but some reviews suggested trying the plain cheese. So I went half and half and almost liked the cheese more. Sad news for me, I live in Texas and won’t be having Terita’s any time again soon.

Google
The BEST pizza in Columbus. The hand pulled sausage makes a difference, all fresh ingredients. Crust is great, sauce is great, always consistent. So glad these folks are still around! Hidden gem.

Google
Excellent pizza with a thin and crispy crust true old school pizza spot vibes.

Google
Haven't had Terita's in several years. Tried it again tonight and was not disappointed. Actually, it's better than I remember. The sausage is DELICIOUS! Some of the best I've had on a pizza. The crust is great, and the toppings are fresh. The service was great, too. Two thumbs up from me!

Yelp
Man I love a Terita's pizza! This time it was a large sausage and green pepper, extra done. It was perfection. Hardest part is choosing what toppings I want. Love that you can choose your doneness - extra done is my preference because it bakes some of the sauce into the crust. Yummy yum! Wish it was closer to me but also glad it's not because I would eat it every day. I really need to try their subs too. Side salad is basic iceberg mix but sometimes I can't hate on a basic salad!

Yelp
Maybe it wasn't the best idea to visit to this place for the first time on a Friday during rush hour, in the dark, and in pouring rain, but that's the story. I accidentally turned into the car business next door and was promptly waved away before finding a parking spot by the restaurant. Inside, I observed a full, happy crowd patiently waiting for their orders. My order was ready and I must say the workers were very efficient and friendly to me. As I fought my way back home, blinking away my tears, I thought, "I hope this pizza is worth the effort." It was just okay. I decided to make another trip on a slower day in the daytime to give them another chance, but in the end, it's unlikely I will make it back.

Yelp
Love this small pizza shop in Columbus! The pizza is delicious, the crust is thin and crispy. The sauce is delicious as well! I got their sausage, which was so tasty on the pizza. The staff was so friendly. really great option for pizza in Columbus!

Yelp
Great pizza and great service! Gluten free pizza is available and tastes just like the regular (or so I was told) there were plenty of toppings on it, the mushrooms were perfect! We got extra cheese which I would recommend. The service was friendly as well This pizza place will make you nostalgic for your childhood

Yelp
One of the best pizza spots in Columbus. The sausage was a really good topping choice! Cannot wait to get another pizza from Terita's.

Yelp
Apparently, this family run business has been around since 1959! 1959! So you know it's legit. It's garnered a neighborhood following, loyal customers who have eaten their pizzas and subs for generations. This was my first time going to Terita's, but just their sausage alone is gonna keep me coming back. It's a little far out for me, but there is something so comforting about their pizza and subs. It's very old school and the sauce has a really nice balance of salty and sweet. They're very generous with their toppings and cheese. and it's a classic Ohio pie. Meaning it leans more towards the thin crust, but you definitely get a good chew with a nice crust at the bottom and edges. But let's be honest, everyone knows it is famous for their homemade sausage. Apparently about 90% of their pizza has sausage on it. That in itself speaks for itself. And I can attest that it is indeed some amazing sausage. It's fresh, a decent size bite, a little bit salty...a little bit spicy. Perfection! The staff was also super friendly. I think I was greeted and taken care of by the manager there, who told me he had been working there since fifth grade!! The man knows his pizza .

Yelp
Terita's Pizza makes some of the best Columbus style pepperoni pizza. Teritas's unique spin is their crust is thin and crispy yet still has a little chew to it somehow, which is hard to craft in dough making and baking process. The edge-to-edge loaded pepperoni (Ezzo brand that cups and chars) and only provolone cheese. The best. Highly recommended. Location is very old school 70s - take out only. No seating. Don't change a thing!

Yelp
Usually the pizza is really good but lately it seems to be tailing off. The last two times I asked for pie cut and I get the little squares which I can't stand. Please don't offer pie cut if you aren't going to do it. Also, the amount of cheese was minimal, almost tasted like a tomato pie. Maybe they have some new help? Regardless they need to get back and maintain the standard they've had for decades. Sad to see the quality dropping like this.

Yelp
Been decades since I was here. Drive past once in awhile, but it seems out of my way. I guess it is, but it's not that far from my house either: 10-15 minutes. As close as any chain. They just got written up in Food and Wine magazine as being the best pizza in Ohio, and Sweetie said she felt like pizza for dinner, so, why not? Ordered online because it was before opening (4 on a Friday.) That went very well, a little surprising for an old-school place. Basic menu: pizza, subs, spaghetti dinner, salad. We got three small pizzas, plus an Italian sub so I would have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Pickup was easy; clearly mostly regulars, staff and customers super friendly. Small place, no seats. The smells in the car and at home were awesome. And the pizza was darn good: thinnish crust, great toppings, great cheese and lots of it. Perfectly cooked. Cut in squares, unless you request otherwise (I chose "bite size cut" for Baby K's, which was perfect; you can also choose "pie cut.") It's Columbus pizza. IYKYK. If you live here, you've eaten it and probably never realized what it was. It's a very very good version. We all enjoyed ours- K got just cheese, Sweetie added pepperoni, I had sausage and ham. Yummy. Excellent sausage, plenty of it, and big slices of very good ham. I saved a bit of room to try the sub, and- wow. One of the best subs I've ever had. Good bread, stuffed with great meat. Cooked up just enough. Crispy on the outside of the bread, hot and juicy fillings inside. Again, yum. Double yum. I am full and still want more yum. We have plenty of leftovers. We'll be back. It's been way too long. There's a reason they've been here forever. It's not fancy, it's just great.

Yelp
Every once in awhile I get a hankering for a legit old school pizza place to try, and Terita's has been on my radar for several years. It's a take-out only joint, the place is tiny, there's no room to fit a table inside. I called and placed our order - I got their medium (12") Terita's Special - it was hot outta the oven when I got there, major steam rush opening the lid for a pic. 30 minutes drive home, and it was still warm. ***Note to Self: I need to get a pizza delivery warming sleeve - Tom H. enlightened me with this super affordable, but perfect, way to keep any pizza hot for the ride back home. The pizza was delish! LOVE sausage IN GENERAL, LOVE how Terita's tears their giant chucks off by hand instead of the boring uniform slices and small spheres. Their sauce was excellent. I don't like tomatoes, so Terita's pizza sauce is the first non-sweet sauce I've tasted and thoroughly enjoyed in a really long time. Not zesty or overly pronounced with herbs and spices, just pure tomato flavor - try it and judge for yourself, but I give it two solid thumbs up. Great toppings, nothing to knock in that department either. I wish I lived closer to Terita's, I love supporting local, and Terita's is an excellent choice. Great pizza, hands down!

Yelp
I came here for the same reason as everyone else, the numerous glowing reviews and their award for the best pizza. Reading through all the reviews made me very excited because I love trying new pizza. I don't know if I set the expectations too high, but the food was completely mediocre. The pizza tastes like pizza you would get at Pizza Hut or a bowling alley, nothing special at all. In the politest way, I don't know how they won an award for it. The sub was better but also nothing to write home about. The parking lot is very full with people sitting in their cars, I assume waiting for their orders. Inside it is very hectic with a full tiny lobby and very stressed and busy employees. The workers had very good communication with each other, as they would need to fulfill all their orders. Their work ethic is commendable. I ordered a large pizza and one sub and it was estimated 45 minutes, for reference. I wouldn't tell people to avoid trying this place, but I would not come back.

David N.

Yelp
I've had a lot of different pizzas. This ranks one of the tops. It melts in your mouth. Too bad they don't have extra large. Price is average. Not the greatest locations though.
google avatar

Yelp
I have never had Terita's Pizza until now. I was very happy to enjoy the different pizzas like Pepperoni; Pepperoni and Sausage; Sausage, Green Peppers, and Onions; and Veggie. The Homemade Sausage was very spicy, but not overpowering and delicious sausage. I enjoyed the Garlic Bread with Cheese too. Despite Terita's Pizza is takeout only, they have been in business for over 60 years and have everything right to make their pizzas very special. I will have to go there and pick it up. Grateful to having Terita's Pizza with family and friends.

Yelp
Excellent, old-school Columbus style pizza. Take out only. You won't be disappointed.

Ted S.

Yelp
One of the best pepperoni pizzas Ive ever had! Also got a cheese pie and one with a bunch of toppings. Looking forward to going back! Place cranks out some excellent pies!

Yelp
My family has been getting pizza from here for over 60 years. As a third generation customer, Terita's will always be a go-to. I put an order in for 2 large pizzas, the Special and a Pepperoni. They are 100% worth going into a not so great neighborhood for. The service is great. They were friendly and speedy. Once you go inside the shop there wasn't much space for multiple people watching for food but they don't make you wait long. Can't wait for our next order!

Adam C.

Yelp
Best Pizza in Columbus for my taste buds.... Since 1959 I used to get it at a relatives house in the 90's, I'd moved away until about a year ago, I rediscovered it. I've been missing out big time. They still make their own sausage, has a little kick, but not too spicy. Well balanced sauce. Not too sweet, not too tart. Mushrooms always taste fresh. Most of the time the crust is the slightly crispy on JUST the outer edges, still chewy on the rest of it. Pepperoni is good also, just a touch greasy... Everyone working there has always been very friendly. I hope they stick around forever...

John K.

Yelp
We love Terita's sausage white pizza and also pepperoni pizza with sauce. It's always worth the trip.

Jeff W.

Yelp
The place isn't in the best area but the pizza is always excellent. Never had an issue with the service or food order. There's a reason they've been around so long. Their pizza is excellent. Best white pizza in town. The ambiance is great too, it would be a great place to bring a date and eat pizza in your car in the parking lot.... with your doors locked! Pizza is worth the risk, I promise you!
google avatar

Shakarra T.

Yelp
Best in town! Steady quality and great service for YEARS!! It's worth the drive time

Jodi H.

Yelp
Their pizza is another one of my top picks. Along with their Italian sub add sausage. Simply amazing.

Yelp
Finally tried this this evening. Had been hearing how great it was but it was all the way on the other side of the city. Take out only . I really have y found pizza in Cbus that I love. Ordered the 12 inch half mushroom for me and pepperoni and sausage on my husband's half. The crust was thin but not too thin. They said if you want it thinner like a cracker crust or even thicker they could do it. The sauce was not sweet which was a plus and there was the perfect amount of cheese. Well worth the drive. My taste buds were happy. The only negative - ordering the 12 inch rather than the 14incn. Next time for sure.
google avatar

Lee W.

Yelp
I have only eaten here once since it's not too close to home, but it was great. I always get the same pizza from wherever I go. Sausage, onions and black olives. The flavor was really good, the service I got from the guys was great, and I have nothing bad to say. I usually get the same pizza from Zuko's, and this had a tiny bit more flavor and maybe a tad more toppings but overall it didn't live up to the hype and I think it's because Zuko's is so good, and they were so similar. Terita's wins over Zuko's by a small margin.

Kathy C.

Yelp
Amazing pizza we have been going there since I was a teen and it is still as good as it was back then. Quality pizza never goes out of style.
google avatar

Yelp
Classic hole in the wall! 62 years of business that's fantastic! So it comes highly recommended! We ordered the Terita's White, the Hawaiian, & built our own pepperoni and mushroom. The counter person was a very quick, no nonsense sort of person. I like the safety steps they've taken: masks required and physical distance. You make your order and then wait out in your car. The pizzas were thin crust w Columbus cut. They are generous with their toppings. The sauce was perfectly flavored, the cheese was amazing. It had an amazing flavor.
google avatar

Ross C.

Yelp
Great pizza that lives up to being known as one of the best I. Columbus. For me the house made sausage is what really puts them over the edge. Do yourself a favor and order anything with it on there.

Michelle V.

Yelp
This Pizza! The flavor of the cheese and sauce is second to none. The best Pizza in Columbus in my Opinion! The service when you enter the shop is not fast but it is thorough and this food is worth the wait every time. I can't recommend this place enough for pizza. We get the large extra cheese pepperoni and it comes home still piping hot and made fresh and excellent. Very happy with this non acidic sauce also Such a great pizza I think about it while away and unable to find a good pizza shop! Argh, frustrating! Everyone needs to try this pizza you won't believe it. Sooo good!

Chad M.

Yelp
Some of the most consistent best tasting pizza in Columbus a bit of a drive for me but worth it.
google avatar

Marsha W.

Yelp
Teritas is a great place for carry out pizza and other tasty things! I was introduced to Teritas 20 years ago when John and I were married. John went to school with the owners. I wasn't sure if I'd like it but that all changed with my first pizza and sub! Teritas also has a white pizza that is really good! They're usually pretty busy so order ahead!!

Chris ..

Yelp
This is a must add to any pizza enthusiast's rotation! The quality and quantity of toppings and sauce are always excellent. A definite treat as this will not help anybody who has regular heartburn issues for the meat-laden pies. It seems the crust, although great if air fried at home is inconsistent with carryout, depending on your distance from the restaurant.

Amy W.

Yelp
Perfect every single time. Great quality. Always consistent. Our go to pizza. Five stars. Thank you Teritas!

Saurabh G.

Yelp
A family run hole in the wall in a shady neighborhood that will make you feel like Eminem in 8 miles. It's a simple takeout Pizzeria which knows how to make cheese, veggies and meats, dance on a stage of well baked thin crust. If you find yourself in Columbus, Ohio, definitely pick up their Pizza. Just make sure to get there in decent hours, as the neighborhood certainly seems a bit unsafe. I love how well they epitomize good old hardworking midwestern business.
google avatar

Yelp
I now live in Minnesota and miss the outstanding Pizza that I was born and raised on in Ohio. This Pizza did not disappoint while on my way to the Airport when on business travel. Order the Thin Crust, this is Ohio-style pizza, Cut once down the middle, then rectangles. Think Donoto's cut. Toppings from edge to edge and plenty of them. I prefer pepperoni and mushrooms. Not only carry out, plenty of seating with an extra room on the side. It also looks like they offer outdoor seating but I was there in February so can't confirm. Give it a try, I think you'll going to be happy you did. Remember; THIN CRUST, not hand tossed. OHIO STYLE

Rich H.

Yelp
Best Pizza in Columbus great taste and cooked to perfection/always fresh ingredients Great service

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp. Looked to be right up my alley. Love fresh sausage and pepperoni that curls up into bowls. I was staying down the road on my way up to NE Ohio. I had a 10 am appointment. I get up at 7 am so instead of driving all the way up and then waiting a couple hours I decided to stay 2 hours away and try out a place I've never been to. I ordered a 10" pepperoni sausage and mushroom pie cut bite size. The flavor was great. I really liked the sausage. I suspect the mushrooms were canned but they were good. They forgot to put on the pepperoni. I was very disappointed but I didn't call because it was 8:00 and I didn't want to wait on a new one. If I lived near by I would definitely have this in my rotation. I wouldn't get it cut bite size. Too much cheese seeps through and gets stuck to the box liner.
google avatar

Daryl L.

Yelp
One of the best pizza places in Columbus, and we have quite a few. Sauce is spicy. Nice cheese
google avatar

Ben M.

Yelp
I'm just going to say this...Teritas is probably the BEST pizza in Columbus and one of the best I've ever had. That's saying a lot. I can't say it with 100% certainty since I still have places to try, but this place is amazing. It's a very small joint in a part of town most people would quickly drive through, but those tend to be the best places. The toppings are piled on, the crust is just crunchy enough, the sauce is flavorful and the price is right on par with what I'd pay. Highly recommended getting the sausage on your pizza. They're quick and the staff is excellent. They don't have seating at all, but that's ok. Eat it in your car for perfection or take it home (if it makes it there without you eating it). I can't recommend this place enough. Definitely my go to.

Roger Y.

Yelp
Everything the pizza is like no other the taste is unbelievable this pizza shop has been around a lot longer than others and has never delivered this ought to tell you they are the best in Columbus

Mr M.

Yelp
We got a large pizza with pepperoni and sausage and it was Fire . The pizza was cooked perfectly and the pizza lived up to the Teritas hype!!
google avatar

Lisa D.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, yes! This was some of the best pizza that we have had in a while! My husband heard about Terita's through a page on Facebook and I am so glad that he did! We ordered our pizza through their online ordering app and the pizza was ready within 30 minutes (it took us 26 minutes to get there so we made it right on time)! We ordered a large Terita's Special Pizza (with some customizations on one half of the pizza) and a medium Pepperoni pizza. They were both great! We loved the hot, crispy crust and all of the fresh veggies on the special pizza. The kids could not stop grabbing the little squares of pepperoni pizza! We will definitely be ordering from Terita's again soon! I want to explore more of the menu as well as get another Terita's Special Pizza. Yum!

Lora C.

Yelp
The best pizza in town! I've been eating Teritas's for over 20 years. I would recommend Teritas to anyone looking for a great pizza.
google avatar

Jenny R.

Yelp
Excellent. It's a teeny tiny hole in the wall pizza place on Cleveland Ave, and it's definitely amazing pizza. It's piping hot and fresh and we absolutely loved it. I can see why it's been voted top 5 pizza places in Columbus many times. We got the onion and homemade sausage, and also a ham and pineapple (I know, I know, it's not for everyone, but I love it). The toppings were crowded on to the pizza, which was fantastic. Good crust too! (There's no inside seating, it's take out only)
google avatar

Talor B.

Yelp
Have been wanting to try Terita's after hearing so much about it over the past few months. I ordered online. It was pretty straight forward and my order was ready in the time they said. I got a 2 topping with pepperoni and banana peppers. I like 2 things about this pizza. I am a thin crispy crust lover so this was right up my alley. Also there wasn't a ton of sauce which I really liked. Allowed for the cheese and toppings to really shine. I also ordered a small salad trying to be healthy. I didn't expect much but didn't get much either. Plenty of cheese on it hahaha.
google avatar

Justin K.

Yelp
Great little family owned shop, checks all the boxes on what a great pizza shop should look like, along with a storied history. We ordered via the website, which was super easy and clearly laid out. Showed up 30-min later and our pizzas were ready. We ordered 2 pies (pie cut - which is an option on the site). Generous on the toppings, and they use Ezzo pepperoni, which is a major plus. Everything was cooked well, crust is not "thin" like a NY slice, more of a middle zone, thicker than thin. For the bad, overpowering taste of parmesean...some may like that, just not my thing...but I see how people would like this. pepperoni was the star, and I would recommend square cut vs pie
google avatar

Sandy W.

Yelp
First time here, was recommended from other Yelpers! Did pick up and pizza was ready when we got there. The sauce has a bit of a kick to it! Lots of toppings on the Terita's special. Overall it was worth the trip there and pizza still hot when we arrived home! Looking forward to going back! Thanks Yelpers for the suggestion!

Scott B.

Yelp
Top 5 Columbus style family owned pizza places in the central Ohio area. Not my favorite, but i always crave their homeade sausage every once in awhile.
google avatar

Tom H.

Yelp
An Ohio must try pizza. You're welcome. Consistency will promise that the pizza I rave about for the past decade will still be the pizza you get to experience. Flavor is a premium. The pepperoni is Old World recipe zesty with that baked puckering curl. I beg you not to skip the sausage (see pic). It's a house recipe that they have made locally. It's the only place I know in a large radius that cooks their sausage on the pizza, so none of those juicy flavors escape your meal. Sure it's not a meal on the healthy nutrition radar, but it is pizza after all. Now we love a thin crust (see pic), and their regular is donato's thin. But if you need it to go thinner, they can accommodate with their extra thin cracker like crust. Sauce is good without being sweet and sugary. Thick cardboard box to keep it hot for the ride home. Oh yeah, it's carryout only, if you didn't get that from their name. Not a table or restroom in site. Carryout beverage coolers, and some daily specials (see pic). Accurate on pickup times.

Randal M.

Yelp
It was good pizza, I don't think I'd drive 45 minutes to try it again. Certainly if local I would get it again, the crust is a bit chewy and thicker than I liked. Toppings were great, my wife was not impressed with the white pizza, the teritas special was very good and worth trying at least once to see what all the hype is about. Again, it was good pizza but did not wow me.
