15 Coastal Restaurants and Bars in Marin and Sonoma Counties

"One of the best restaurants in Sonoma County, the Michelin-starred Terrapin Creek is tucked away in a small strip mall, content to quietly produce excellent dishes in an informal setting. Look for seafood as well as housemade pastas, Japanese-inflected main courses, and a gorgeous reimagining of European traditions." - Paolo Bicchieri, Gretchen Giles

Terrapin Creek

"Whether it’s the ochre walls, the bold artwork or the fireplace, Terrapin Creek emits palpable warmth. Liya Lin and Andrew Truong, partners and co-chefs, have created an alluring sanctum where everyone feels like a regular, whether you’re a resident or simply here to spot the migrating whales. The menu is concise, so expect a spectrum of bites that may include grilled Monterey sardines set over shaved radishes and cabbage dressed in a refreshing lime-curry vinaigrette. Pasta is made in house, so dig your fork into those torch-shaped curls with crumbled merguez, chopped spinach, feta cheese, mint and sweet English peas in a spicy tomato-based broth. For dessert, a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting is bested with a heavenly caramel sauce." - Michelin Inspector

5 Affordable Michelin-Starred Restaurants in San Francisco

"Dramatically situated above picturesque Bodega Bay, this lovely retreat is just steps from the water. (During the January-March whale-watching season, you might even catch a glimpse of these gentle giants bobbing in the Pacific.) The small-town staff is every bit as warm as the space, and treats everyone like a regular. A meal might begin with a mixed greens salad topped with goat cheese, persimmon, prosciutto, and a tart cherry vinaigrette. Then segue into three coins of ravioli filled with kabocha squash and floating in a fragrant black truffle-and-butter sauce. Tender duck breast with deliciously seasoned and crisped skin is then cooked to pink perfection and coupled with a sauté of cabbage, shiitakes, and fingerling potatoes. Paired with a Napa red blend, it’s equal parts modern and classic." - The MICHELIN Guide

Terrapin Creek is a fantastic spot! We loved their fresh, seasonal menu – everything tasted amazing. The vibe is super chill and the service was friendly without being overbearing. Definitely a must-try if you're in the Bodega Bay area for a relaxed, delicious meal.

We have been wanting to come here for a while! It did not disappoint. The scallops were amazing and you must get them if you go! We definitely enjoyed the crab cake and crudo of hamachi as well. Our favorite main course was the pasta, there were so many flavors and the sausage was amazing. The seafood stew was not our favorite compared to our other mains, the Alaskan halibut was to die for!! We got a cheesecake to go as well, and it was great, all the desserts look so good. The owners are so sweet, and friendly. This is definitely on the pricey side though for pretty small portions, but it is great quality.

Our travel group had a wonderful evening here last night. We are four couples, so we can be a handful! This was no problem for our server and host for the evening, Louise. Food was exceptional, service was great. Truly enjoyed our night here. We expected the seafood to be remarkable. But one couple got the duck which was the best I have ever eaten! Lovely night.

Exceptional cuisine in a warm, friendly, comfortable environment. This unassuming hidden gem in Bodega Bay was a vacation highlight. We have one picky eater and one adventurous eater. Without being prompted, our server Rosie recommended the off-menu cheesy, butter noodles for our youngest child (just one of the many subtleties that made for a wonderful evening). Our service the entire meal continued this trend of knowing just when to intercede without unnecessary interruption (not every fine dining establishment gets this right). They have a curated list of wines by the glass and an extensive list of wines by the bottle. I enjoyed the scallops and duck breast with a glass of pinot noir. For dessert it was the cheesecake with a local pear brandy. Every bite of my meal was world class. Even if you’re not in the area, Terrapin Creek is worth the drive.

We didn't know the place was so popular and walked in without a reservation. But we got lucky and got a seat because someone canceled! It's a cute little restaurant with nice views and artwork for sale on their walls, which was quite interesting. The server was very professional and good at his job (definitely 5 stars for him) and food was really good too! We had their seasonal asparagus salad, pork chop, fish stew, and sourdough bread pudding. All were very good except the clams in my stew had sand in them. I had to spit out quite a few of them :( But it was still a pleasant experience overall and I would recommend it if you want fancy dinner in the area!

Terrapin is an experience worth the travel. The service was personable, the food was robust, flavorful, and complimentary, and the ambiance was cozy. Looking forward to visiting again.

Google
We had dinner here at a friend’s recommendation. The crabcake, Wagyu steak, and seafood stew were all delicious. Even better, the first two items were dairy free. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. The space itself is not the most exciting but they did have nice white tablecloths to elevate the experience. we definitely would eat here again in the area.

We had been traveling from San Francisco to explore the area. We camped at a near by campground for a couple days. We were looking for some great food, great seafood in particular. The parking lot was packed. The restaurant was full. We didn’t have reservations but they were ale to seat us immediately. We ordered a couple appetizers, a few drinks and our entrees. The crudo of hamachi is delicious. So delicate but very flavorful. The basil, lemon juice and sesame oil did not over power the hamachi. The radish gave it a nice crunch and kick. The scallops were so tender. The purée paired with it well. We could definitely eat just this as our main because it was so delicious. I ordered their fresh pasta with Italian sausage. The pasta was Al dense, a good bite to it. The bread crumbs gave it a nice texture. Everything about the pasta was phenomenal. My partner ordered the strip steak. Not pictured but he loved it. It came with trumpet mushrooms , broccolini and a delicious bordelaise sauce. Cooked perfectly to a medium well. The feel of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, everyone was enjoying their time there. The drinks were great, the wines they suggested paired well with the steak, seafood and pasta. We also ordered the cheesecake to go, also not pictured. But when we got back to camp to enjoy it. It was amazing. Nice and creamy, with a good crust. And the sauce paired with it had good acidity to cut through the richness of the creamy cheesecake. Amazing restaurant , can’t wait to try it again next time we’re in the area again!

Yelp

Yelp
After completing family photos with two little ones, we quickly searched for a restaurant with good ratings on Yelp. We stumbled upon this place. We were greeted promptly, and took the risk of fine dining with two young children. We had exceptional service, and the food was excellent. We had the oysters, crab cake, scallops, and steak entree. Everything was perfectly prepared with a nice balance of flavors. The kids did awesome, so we allowed room for special treats: the chocolate cake and the cheesecake. Let's just say - all plates were cleared. Cheers to a great experience!! Side note - we were the only ones with children. This is definitely a more upscale restaurant, so it is something to consider before taking in children.

Yelp
Let me start by saying we made reservations several weeks in advance based on the reputation in the ratings. It's a very small, cute venue and a wonderful location. When we walked in the door or shall I say we tried to walk in the door it was locked. We had to walk around to the kitchen And knock on the door to let them know we couldn't get in. I mentioned to the server that we were there to celebrate my 70th birthday. There was no smile or offer of birthday wishes. It was very weird. My husband brought a birthday candle and asked them to bring me a dessert and they forgot ... he had to go remind them again. The food was expensive and unmemorable and the service was adequate. I'm so sad. I spent my birthday there.

Yelp
Fun, fun, fun meal! Delicious, interesting, and perfectly executed. We had a seasonal salad of tomatoes, peaches, avocado, and arugula, which I could assemble, but not the dressing. That sauce was BOMB! Kabocha squash soup, vegan, which was creamy, slightly sweet, elevated by a forthright EVOO with basil, and pistachios. Oysters that were perfect naked. (But their mignonette is terrific!) Scallops seared "just so", allowing their quality to shine. Hamachi crudo which rivals that I've had in Hawaii, Mexico, Italy. Again, perfect flavors, balanced. I would come back to Bodega Bay for this restaurant alone. Kind, friendly service. Overall a great experience.

Yelp
This place is Michelin starred and well deserved. We stayed next door at the Bodega Bay Inn. It's a nice short walk from the inn over to this restaurant. The service is really great. We came for a short getaway for my hubs birthday and the waitress brought a little candle out with his dessert. We LOVED the food. I was a huge fan of the ciopinno style soup - All of the seafood was super fresh. We had a raw fish appetizer that was delicious - And their bread! So good. Anyway, there's a lot of restaurants in the area that are just as expensive and not nearly as good. This was just perfect.

Yelp
Wow!!! Just Wow! We just had appetizers and what a treat and selection... yumm all around! We had reservations right at opening and weren't even the 1st seated! Service was phenomenal! Every dish was fantastic! The vibe is small, quaint and classy! Wine selection ( of course) top notch. It was an incredible experience

Yelp
Wow. This place exceeded all of our expectations! By far the best food in the area. After a series of lackluster meals at highly rated (online and by locals) places nearby, we were a bit discouraged. Terrapin Creek fully reversed this trend though and delivered on taste, personality, and ambiance. The restaurant itself is small and cute, and the decor is warm and inviting. We were seated next to a beautiful fireplace. Our server was welcoming, helpful in explaining the menu and making recommendations, and as the night went on - hilarious! We joked with him about our other lackluster experiences nearby and that we probably terrified him when we ordered the whole menu (haha - not really, but we might have come close), and he didn't miss a beat and fired back with jokes of his own. He truly made it a great experience. He was attentive in topping off our sparkling wine from the bottle we had ordered as needed, and other staff were observant in replacing plates and silverware in between the many courses that we were sharing. Service here is top notch. The food was perfectly prepared, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully plated. We truly enjoyed every dish. Take a look at the pics I posted if you don't believe me - they are gorgeous (and every bite tasted as good as they looked). The outstanding dishes for me (if I had to narrow it down and not order the entire menu) would be the scallops and the Wagyu. The wagyu was cooked to our specification and so flavorful and tender. The scallops were expertly seared. I'm always a little worried when ordering scallops as they can easily be overcooked and rubbery. These were delicate and delicious. Parking is easy in the lot outside, and if that fills up it looked like there was parking down below as well. I recommend a reservation as the restaurant itself is on the smaller side. We will be back on our next roadtrip to the area!

Yelp
What an adorable restaurant with great music playing and the coolest bathroom art! I really like the area of Bodega Bay and this restaurant adds sophistication to the town. The food is great too!

Yelp
My husband booked Terrapin Creek for my birthday dinner before our weekend getaway at Timber Cove in Jenner. The restaurant is super cozy and I was super excited by the menu--so much seafood! We ordered to share: hamachi crudo (excellent), hokkaido scallops (also excellent), sourdough bread (delish), duck breast (perfect), and SRF pork chop (lovely). We noticed some Asian influence in the dishes and were pleased to see that the chefs were an Asian husband and wife duo! I told hubby that this was my favorite meal of the whole trip. It was super well rounded and the dishes were fresh and creative. I'd love to come back when we're in the area again. :)

Yelp
Dined here with my friend on a Sunday evening. The restaurant is small and intimate with a slightly snobby feel. The menu is small, which is an indication of good quality... Food: * Crudo of hamachi: 5/5 Grated Carrots & Radishes, Basil, Lemon Juice, Sesame Oil. Flavors were on point and delicious. Hamachi was fresh. * Dozen Miyagi oysters: 5/5 with Mignonette sauce. Fresh oysters and the mignonette sauce was perfectly prepared that I did not even need hot sauce. * Dungeness crab cake: 4/5 Orange Segments, Avocado, Mixed Lettuces, Remoulade Sauce. Very fresh and the orange segments, avocadi and mixed lettuces with remoulade sauce was perfect. * Mediterranean fish stew: 4/5 Salmon, Sole, Calamari, Clams, Potatoes, Tomato & Fennel Broth. * Bread with olive oil Drinks: Wakatake Onikoroshi Junmat Dalginjo Sake: 3/5 Delicious but sake served in a wine glass? a bit of a turn off... Pellegrino: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Cozy, intimate ambiance. Overall, the service was wonderful. We had a great waiter. He sang every entree: I love how every dish came individually and was timed perfectly. Food is delicious but I would not return here . Happy for the only once experience though...

Ann L.

Yelp
What a delicious meal! From appetizers to entrees to dessert everything was delicious and beautifully presented. I'd go back just for the passion fruit cheesecake. Service was a bit slow, but it didn't really matter--everyone was so gracious. Will definitely head back there the next time we visit Bodega Bay.

Yelp
Reliably delicious food in a comfortable (not stuffy) setting. Helpful service. Spendy, but worth the splurge.

Yelp
We bought takeout on a Saturday night due to having an infant and she was too fussy to dine in. We called and was so happy to hear they did takeout since we have gotten rejected at some locations. Our order was ready in 15 minutes which was fast and we were lodging closeby. We had the homemade pasta, duck breast, corn soup, and heirloom tomatoes & peach salad -- all were SOLID. One of the best meals we had out here and it was takeout.. my favorite was the corn soup (as I love corn lol) and the heirloom tomatoes were delicious in the salad. I like the duck breast more than the pasta. We also got complimentary bread with our order which went well with dipping into the corn soup. Highly recommend :)
google avatar

Sylvia J.

Yelp
Terrapin Creek having received a Michelin Star Award our expectations were high. The waiter Guillaume was fabulous, attentive, personable and professional. The purée of corn soup was good. The Mediterranean fish stew was good - mussels, chunks of white fish and salmon ( the salmon tasted a little fishy) and fingerling potatoes. The Halibut was a fair size and cooked perfectly and was put on a bed of red quinoa, corn and something else. ( the accompaniments were good but it didn't wow us. ) The appetizer of three scallops was by far the best and most savory dish. The restaurant is small and lively. As we sat there some locals and repeat customers came in -always a great sign.
google avatar

Jerry A.

Yelp
Very cute little place, maybe 12 tables? Lively atmosphere, a bit loud with a full house as you would expect. Our server Guillaume was the best of the best - efficient, friendly and charming. Scallop appetizer was cooked perfectly and served with greens and a yummy carrot & ginger puree, the highlight of the evening for both of us. Corn soup was great. The halibut was cooked perfectly but a bit bland, and the (limited) sauce, quinoa and corn accompaniment didn't really bring a whole lot else to the party. Fish stew was good, but more seafood and less potatoes would've been appreciated. The menu seems to rotate, and we would definitely check to see what's on it next time we are in Bodega Bay.

Yelp
We had such a great dinner at Terrapin that we went back the next night! - Duck breast: the jus was so flavorful! The veggies seemed to soak it all up, which made them so incredibly tasty, and the protein was an appropriate amount and cooked according to our preference. - Fish stew: very tasty with plenty of seafood. I wish it came with bread to soak up all of the stew. We did order a side of bread, though. - Lamb pasta: I'm not a huge fan of lamb, so I didn't quite like this dish, but my husband seemed to enjoy it. - Strawberry panna cotta: very yummy and wasn't overly sweet. Service was great, and the ambiance was fantastic. We will definitely dine here again the next time we're in town.

Yelp
The headline for me is -- "The best restaurant by far in Bodega Bay". Okay, so now some details. The environment is casual, as if having dinner in someone's home. The host/server was incredibly kind, appropriately chatty, and took me up on the offer to do a taste of the wine we brought via their generous corkage policy ($35 per bottle). We brought a Cersei single vineyard from Kosta Browne. The food was pretty tasty. We started with the crudo, seeded bread, and the scallops. My husband loved the scallops. My crudo was more thickly cut than I've seen for crude but the flavors were perfect and just a tad bit of pesto made the flavor unexpected by tasty. (Photos attached) For mains, we had the halibut with quinoa, tomatoes, corn, zucchini, mushrooms, lemon butter sauce. My husband said the sauce was good but the fish was under-seasoned (though cooked perfectly). He gave it a 6 out 10. My main on the other hand was outstanding. I ordered the steak, medium-rare, and it was perfectly cooked/seasoned, along with the mashed potatoes, and broccolini. For dessert we shared a strawberry / basil panna cotta that had fantastic flavor. One final note that I loved. The chef and sous chef had their young sons in helping / learning. A great way to teach work ethic, give them insight into the work. Fantastic to see and gave an even more friendly/family/casual/nice vibe to the night.

Yelp
This is now my favorite restaursants. The food was incerdibly made and presented. We started with the shaved vegetable salad and the puree corn soup, both made to perfection, then the roasted red King salmon which came on a bed of steamed veggies with Quinoa and the Mediterranean fish stew - both best we ever had. All topped with their pefect brewad pudding. The service was also great with the waiter being suoer friendly and knowledgable. The restaurant m ight bnot be the cheapest but woth every $. We drove aboujt 2.5 hours to try this restaurant, it is defionitely woth the drive and the effort.

Yelp
New favorite restaurant in the area. It takes a lot for me to give five stars. Dishes were creative, high quality ingredients, perfectly cooked, and came out in a timely manner. Started with apps - wanted to order about five but settled on three (counting bread). Had the scallops app - so perfectly cooked and fresh. The sauce and garnish salad really gave this dish a unique style. Then to the crab cakes - yum yum, again perfectly cooked and fresh crab. Main course was the fish stew and halibut. Both were delicious. Dessert is mind blowing. Best bread pudding I have aver had. Cheesecake was freaking fantastic. Reservations were at 7:10 got there at 5:00 (was cruising the coast) they seated us right away. Service was impeccable and owners are the with their daughter making sure each dish is to their standard. Definitely coming back (I need to try the corn soup and hamachi apps)

Yelp
This is the restaurant that restored our faith in dining in and around Occidental and Bodega Bay. After a few disappointing and outright offensive dinning experiences during our (I and my wife) long romantic weekend, this warm and family owned restaurant was the sanctuary we needed. Crudo of Hamachi - fresh and light and delicious. The wife does not enjoy raw fish and did not partake, but I love it (haha, more for me). This dish was my favorite of the night. Pan Roasted Hokkaido Scallops - prepared perfectly, seared on the outside and still tender on the inside. No resemblance of rubber bands in the texture whatsoever. Puree of Yellow Corn Soup - the essence of sweet summer corn was represented in this dish. As the kids say nowadays, "say less". Dungeness Crab Cakes - light, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside crab cakes. Crab cakes can some times have too many ingredients mixed in or be overworked to the point of being too firm. These crab cakes were not that. Akauahi Wagyu Strip Steak - you could taste the respect the chef had for this piece of meat. Perfectly cooked to a medium rare and simply seasoned so as not to detract from the beef. The wait staff was attentive and a hoot. My wife and I never had to refill our sparkling. The waiter was always there to pull the bottle from the ice bucket to make sure our glasses were never completely empty. We told our waiter how we had a less desirable dinner the night before where our poor ribeye steak was prepared almost well instead of the medium rare we requested. He then brought our medium rare Wagyu beef and presented is a "your well done Wagyu" with a grin before placing it on the table, LOL. We loved our whole experience at this restaurant and plan to revisit them many times in the future.

Yelp
We have eaten here several times over the years, and it has always been outstanding. Last night's dinner may have been the best ever. Perfect dirty vodka martini to start... The hamachi crudo has changed a little over the years but it still one of the most divine things I have ever eaten. The scallops were, too: perfectly cooked, with impeccable greens, snap peas, radishes, shaved fennel, mushrooms, and several amazing sauces. Divine! My husband's salad was equally fabulous, as was his duck breast: very generous serving, perfectly cooked--and he said the vegetable side was the star of the show! For dessert, he had a sublime bread pudding, and I had a panna cotta that was smooth and silky with an intense strawberry topping. Service was personable and very good, and we had delightful diners on either side of us. A perfect dining experience. Will look forward to continue coming here hopefully for years to come.

Yelp
Cute little inside area. Nice and cozy. Good service. The Wagyu steak was tender and delicious. Worth the money. I'll pass on the octopus salad next time. The dressing was not what I expected. It was more of a peanut butter aioli than smoked pepper aioli.

Yelp
Wonderful meal to celebrate a milestone birthday. Service was excellent. Local fresh Oysters were the best I've ever had. We enjoyed it all, cocktails, wine, appetizers, entrees and desserts. Everything was delicious and expertly prepared with love. For such a fine dining experience the atmosphere was casually relaxed and comfortable . We'll definitely return.

Yelp
We stopped by for takeout. With a little help, we were easily able to order a nice gluten free meal. We enjoyed the Mediterranean Fish Stew, the Akaushi Wagyu Strip Steak, and the Creme Fraiche Cheese Cake. What a treat it was to have the cheese cake! To make it gluten free, they simply left off the crust. They're very accommodating and were quite welcoming. I can't wait to visit again!

Yelp
Quaint little cafe that dishes up some fantastic eats! Everyone (even the two kids) ate up every bit of their dishes. I had the crudo of hamachi and the pan roasted Hokkaido scallops and both were top notch! Also had a slice of my boyfriend's kurabota pork chop which was moist, flavorful and fatty. Not only was the food really good, the presentations were also nicely done. Don't skip dessert! We got two orders of the chocolate cake which was chocolate-y, yet light! Reservations are available on OpenTable, but I needed to change from a party of 2 to 6 and they didn't have availability online. I called a couple weeks before and they were able to accommodate. Formerly one Michelin star, Terrapin Creek offers some delicious food at reasonable prices. 4.5 stars, rounded up.
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect spot for fine dining, fresh, quality food in the Bodega area. The server also helped us with wine pairings and she was spot-on. The poached halibut flavors were delicate, and the preparation perfect. The cheesecake dessert was nicely made. Great oysters, too. Reasonably priced for the high quality. I wish they had vegetarian entrees though! We would return & recommend this spot.

Yelp
Food + service & Ambiance = great place to eat and enjoy the day in bodega bay. Staff are very friendly and the food is excellent.

Yelp
Placement of table in separate section with less noise was excellent; waitress and food was great however, my sister claims she makes a better halibut dinner; uses macadamia nuts to pan fry; also, our recipe for bread pudding with whiskey sauce is unbeatable. We will be back. I never ate duck so fantastically prepared; unbelievable. We bought all the desrts and the cheecake won, hands down. Lovely place; parking very difficult, maybe the time we chose?

Yelp
Another wonderful meal here! We come every so often when we're in Bodega Bay, and we have never been disappointed! Enjoyed the Grilled Asparagus Salad and the Scallops as starters. I had my usual Duck Breast, he enjoyed the Lamb Sausage Pasta. Forgot to take photos until dessert. Always wonderful!

Yelp
Terrapin Creek is the best somewhat under-the-radar dining experience on the Sonoma coast. Living in the area I'm fortunate to have dined here a handful of times over the past 3 years and my meals have consistently been above expectations. The dining room is intimate, well-lit, and accented with attractive artwork on the walls. I really appreciate the tablecloths and noise-absorbing panels on the ceiling which go a long way in keeping the noise level reasonable. The service is always professional yet warm - for example I asked about the Chardonnay by the glass and decided to try it and it was nice the server swung back around to ask if I enjoyed it. My partner and I typically order an app, a salad and an entree to be shared and every time the kitchen sends out split plates, another nice touch that I wish all restaurants would provide when sharing dishes. Our most recent dinner of the octopus salad, the Caesar salad (the eggless dressing was fantastic) and the duck breast was perfectly executed. Terrapin Creek is in my top 3 date-night spots and I can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
If you're in the Bodega Bay area, make a point of making a reservation for Terrapin Creek. The food was delicious and the service was impressive. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Food, service - excellent! Ambiance is casual but tables was setup with multiple silverware and white tablecloths. Look at the pictures! No add words are needed. I only wish sea bass was more moist (more on rare side).

Yelp
Seemingly casual ambience but still felt like a fancy celebratory meal. We had the scallops and crab cake for appetizers. Scallops were cooked perfectly. Crab cake was delicious but not particularly special. Had the duck which was also cooked to perfection and decadent. The thick crispy skin at first was different and a bit off putting but didn't deter away from the dish. Companion had the pork chop which he said was one of the best he's had. The strawberry cheesecake was so light and definitely a highlight. The bread pudding was fine but not truly a bread pudding since didn't have the raisins and caramel. Would definitely come again next time when we visit.

Yelp
It was a charming spot and the food was good- but I don't feel it was worth the steep almost $40 per plate. Maybe it was just an 'off' night!?

Yelp
Delicious Dungeness crab cake, the best I've had. It was almost all crab and tasty as well as crunchy. The leek and potato soup was subtle and smooth. The wine selection was good, we enjoyed a bottle of Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc. While desserts were pricy at $15 the two we shared were delicious...lemony panna cotta with a strawberry coulis topping and a cheesecake. The server was so warm, friendly and professional. She made us feel at home in the cozy back porch room. We enjoyed ourselves very much and did not feel rushed. Thank you.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had such a lovely meal here! We ordered the Hamachi Crudo, Corn Purée Soup, Pork Chop, Pana Cotta, and the Bread Pudding. We came up here for a staycation and if it was open the other nights we stayed we would have eaten here again! Most definitely a restaurant to come back to!

Yelp
It's been about 10 years since last we enjoyed dinner here. Why? Why? Why, have we waited so long? It was a fun topic to discuss while we enjoyed the staff, cozy ambiance and simply amazing food. We were fortunate to be staying the night nearby so having the luxury of driving "home" in five minutes was much appreciated. From the mushroom soup (wife) and scallop (me.. so f@$? Good!) apps to the sea bass and pork chop entrees every part of our time was perfect. If I lived in town, this would be my regular, and by which I mean coming 3 times a week place. Book some reservations, sit back and enjoy what it means to live in this part of the world.

Yelp
The best food in Bodgea Bay! So glad I read yelp that reservations are a must.I booked a room at Bodega Bay Inn Nextdoor and saw this was walking distance so grabbed a slot for Father's Day weeks in advance. I had the lamb pasta, husband had the pork chops and shared crab appetizer. So amazing! For dessert I had the chocolate cake with coconut and husband the cheesecake. We both agreed best dessert we have ever had! The server was great and recommended a nice Chardonnay from Russian River.I wish I took a pick of the name,it was so good.(believe name stated with a "R?") Food, service and first class service can't wait to come back! Prices were reasonable especially considering this is a Michelin star restaurant!

Yelp
Disappointing. We arrived 5:45 with reservations and were cramed into a small table against a wall so close to another couple we could hear their every word. Server had a hard time hearing us. Wine by the glass list very minimal. This is Sonoma county after all. Halibut ok and the veggies with it very good. Wife had flavorless pork chop but accompanying items good. Probably will not return

Yelp
We absolutely LOVE any time we can come to Bodega Bay, but this was the first time we made it to Terrapin Creek Cafe & Restaurant. How did we miss this place?? The menu was varied, food was scrumptious, and the service was perfect. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and he timed everything very well. The atmosphere in this cozy establishment is lively and welcoming. We will definitely make this a regular stop when we are able to visit the area again!

Yelp
Great atmosphere, service, and food. Highly recommend the scallops appetizer and duck entree. We will be coming back the next time we're in town.
