"Open since 1979, Thanh My is another member of Little Saigon’s old guard, and though its food might not be the most groundbreaking in the neighborhood, there’s a reason this Westminster institution has been around for 40 years - the food is delicious. The encyclopedic menu has everything from corkscrew snails to chicken curry to rice porridge, but we tend to focus on the bun tom cha gio bo. It’s a giant bowl of soft vermicelli noodles, topped with perfectly cooked shrimp and pork, and served with a crispy spring roll. If you’re stopping in for a quick solo lunch, this is a must-order, but if you’re with a big group, go for the family meals towards the back of the menu. We’ve witnessed at-table fights over who gets the last bite of ca kho to, the caramelized catfish served in a hot pot." - Brant Cox
"Established in 1979 by Anh Chi Ba, the Nguyen family cultivated Thành Mỹ Restaurant over the years. It’s now known for its traditional Vietnamese meals featuring crispy garlic wings, salads, Cornish game hens, and noodles with shaken beef that folks tend to pick up in large trays for parties and New Year’s celebrations." - Jenn Tanaka

"Thành Mỹ’s noodle dishes are undeniable, but the bun stand out. Industriously prepared toppings like a great chả giò (Vietnamese-style egg rolls) and large grilled shrimp are just a few of the things that dress the restaurant’s chewy, thicker rice noodles. Bring it all together with a healthy pour of their sweet and savory nước chấm." - Euno Lee
