Absolutely Incredible Bar – A Must-Visit in Barcelona The Alchemix is truly a gem. Their drinks are absolutely top-notch—beautifully crafted, balanced, and full of creativity. I tried the Old Fashion, Mrs. Pot & Little Chip, Vikings Soul, and the Basil Pie Smash, and every single one was exceptional. You can tell the owner has poured so much passion and detail into every part of this place, from the menu to the execution. I really appreciated that level of care. The staff are fantastic—knowledgeable, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. Watching them make the cocktails with such skill made the whole experience even better. The prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. And the atmosphere? Honestly amazing—it’s the kind of bar that makes you want to stay for hours because it just feels that good. I did see a few low-rating reviews before visiting, but my experience was outstanding. Some people just like to complain, but this place is excellent. I will definitely be back every time I’m in Barcelona. Highly recommend!

Such a vibe!! Creative and lovely cocktails, we come here two days in a row, would definitely recommend to everyone who wants to explore some chill night vibe in Barcelona!! Hopefully come back soon someday:)) and also wonderfully friendly bartenders!!

We walked in and were greeted by the owner, very friendly, and then sat at the bar. The owner was also the head bartender, and he described the entire backstory to the bar, which was super interesting. The cocktails were majestically crafted and simply exquisite! I would highly recommend checking this place out given the high ratings from all major agencies. I will also be coming back here for their exclusive tasting menu (only 6-8 seats per night!)

We had an incredible experience at The Alchemix in Barcelona! The atmosphere was amazing, with every detail carefully thought out – from the decor to the presentation of the cocktails. But what truly made our evening special was our server, Dani. Dani was warm, attentive, and clearly passionate about what he does. He guided us through the menu with great recommendations and made the whole experience feel personal and welcoming. The cocktails were not only delicious but also beautifully crafted. If you’re in Barcelona, the Alchemix is a must-visit. And if you’re lucky enough to be served by Dani, you’re in for a treat!

This place was my favorite dining experience in Spain and it’s right there with Michelin restaurant experiences. The food was absolutely delicious! The cocktail pairing was creative, unique and exquisite. Service was impeccable by Danny and also had the pleasure of being waited on by Nacho the owner. The ambience set the tone for an amazing dining experience designed and installed by none other than Nacho himself. This placed is best described by its play on words as the Alchemix being a magical infusion of food, cocktails, service and passion. Thank you gentlemen for creating a lovely experience for both my girlfriend and I.

A great cocktail spot that also serves food. This time we didn’t try the food since we came after dinner, but we’ll definitely do so next time 😁. We went for the cocktails instead — they are on the pricey side, but absolutely worth it, as they’re really unique. The presentation is beautiful, and the staff is very friendly. The place has a truly elite, refined vibe.

Stopped here after visiting Sips. I have to say that I was equally impressed by the libations created here. (& They're a little more quaffable in my opinion) The place has a US prohibition speakeasy theme without the secrecy We sat at the bar and were warmly greeted by Erick and Carlos. They answered any questions we had about the menu and happily made whatever we liked. I started with the white truffle pisco sour and it was DELICIOUS. Then I saw them... Mrs Pots and little chip on the back bar I just had to order that drink A lovely gin concoction With a little fanfare :) To eat we ordered the bloody lobster and the golgappa Both were tasty small bites to go with our drinks Nacho even came out to speak with us about the dishes We had already eaten earlier or we would have definitely explored more of his food menu. This place was one of the highlights of my trip and if/when I come back to Barcelona I will be back HIGHLY RECOMMEND

A very enjoyable and interesting experience. I went with two colleagues from work and had the tasting menu and accompanying tasting cocktails. All of the dishes were beautiful looking and the cocktails quite interesting. I don't think I ever had a meal like it before. While all the dishes looked beautiful, the taste was good but not great. Very little of the taste was very memorable, very Instagramable and nothing was bad (I ate every bite) but the taste did not match the appearance. I also enjoyed the cocktails but for me it seemed a bit much, by the last couple not really looking forward to more, in part because they were generally quite sweet and felt heavy/sugary. That said, I did enjoy the experience and the service was incredible, am very happy I went.

So close to perfect The bartenders are very energetic and knowledgeable in the drinks. Fun little "prohibition/ speakeasy moment" they share with you. The one bartender does speak a little too fast, but fairly understandable. We had the Martini Tiramisu, White Truffle Pisco Sour, Apolo and the Old Fashion that you have to find with a black light. The music is great jazzy jams. We came her after enjoying 2023's best bar in the world, Sips. Definitely a great follow up bar to Sips. The decor creates a warm cozy atmosphere. I personally think it rivals in creative cocktails but without the excessive presentation. We ordered the oysters with caviar and they use little droppers for their different "sauces" for the oysters (lemon juice, mignonette, yuzu and another Asian sauces that tastes like a cross between the lemon juice and mignonette). Next we had the Creamy Indian which was amazing. If you don't like truffle, not a dish for you. Eat in one bite and it's an explosion in your mouth. (Personally, a little too much cream, but definitely tasty.) Lastly, we had the Bloody Lobster. Very different but honestly, the lobster is a little fishy for my taste. The overall experience has been amazing! It is a great follow up to Sips (which does not serve food, save for little snacks). If I was judging solely based on service and love of their craft I would TOTALLY give 5 stars. It's just that I am VERY particular about my personal food tastes. That aside, I can honestly say you should definitely come and try Alchemix for yourself. You won't be sorry !

The Alchemix is an experience like no other. The bartenders are the most lively and fun bartenders I've ever interacted with and they have very interesting stories for each of their drinks. The Mrs. Potts and chip drink was so creative and fun and it tasted fruity and fun. The bubbles on top of the drink also had a ton of flavor and I was just so overwhelmingly impressed with this entire drink. El Colima was so cool with very impressive presentation and a fun dry ice spectacle! It tasted like sweet mango with fruity notes all over. Absolutely delicious!! The Viking comes in a magnificent Viking horn to drink from. It was sweet and yummy! This place was by far our favorite stop in Barcelona and I'm so happy I got to try it! The owner also has such deep history with each of the decorations and pieces and it was a lot of fun to learn about his stories and experiences. Such an impressive place and a magnificent find! Thank you Alchemix!

Very trendy bar with lots of reference to the prohibition era in the US. The staff tries hard to make you feel welcome, at times succeeds and at times it feels a bit over the top. Alcohol selection is limited although it seems at first it's varied and misleading imo. If your into the razzle and dazzles of making drinks and a cool atmosphere that serves expensive drinks with cheap alcohol this is your place.

I'm a world traveler and this is the best dining experience I've had! At the first meeting of Senior Nacho (owner), you could feel his passion and love for what he's doing. The place is beautifully designed with unique artifacts collected over 25 years from different parts of the world. We were entertained with the story telling of some of the pieces and were delighted to hear them! There's 2 tasting menus. One is 8 course for €72 and 12 courses for €120. We initially picked the 8 course + mini cocktail/wine pairing of €38 (you should definitely do the drink pairing as its just the complete experience!). I don't even drink regularly, but I love their cocktail innovations! 1st course was Normandy oyster with imperial caviar and 4 different sauces to taste. Absolutely fresh and we loved being able to pick different sauces based on our liking (our favorite was the 2nd one, vinaigrette) 2nd course was smoked salmon marinated with beets and with beer mustard sauce and wasabi fish eggs. There was a mini pine tree plant that was torched so we could experience the scent while enjoying the smoked salmon And at this moment, we have decided that we don't want the experience to end, so we asked to go for the full menu which was €120 + €55 for drinks pairing (and if I could redo it, I will go for the full menu + drinks pairing again) I won't spoil the rest of the course but it was a magical experience! I highly recommend the full experience + drinks pairing. We are surprised they don't have a Michelin star but I'm sure they will soon! This is definitely one of the top restaurants in Spain!

Another great cocktail bar in Barcelona. Had the Viking Soul which is their take on an upscale Viking mead and presented in a Viking horn. Way too easy to drink. All the workers were very friendly and helpful.

Tbh, I don't understand why this places does not yet have a Michelin star rating. My friends and I came for drinks and ended up loving it so much that we came back a second night for the tasting menu with cocktail pairing. The first night, we had a few drinks, most of which came with a spectacular show. All were very delicious drinks! (The last one hit pretty hard ). The bartenders/servers/"alchemists" (whatever you would like to call them) were all very amicable and attentive. Our friends and I decided at the end of the night that we had to come back to bring our friends who were arriving to Barcelona later than we did. The second night was the tasting menu. We did not expect much, but left with an amazing experience. The food was amazing and fresh. The artisanal cocktail pairings matched well with the food. The servers were knowledgeable in the dishes brought out. Overall, my friends and I were extremely satisfied with the food, service, and ambience!

Another amazing mixology bar in Barcelona! We passed by The Alchemix in our cab home the night before and looked it up. It looked like a neat spot so we decided to check it out the next night. When we got there we thought it was closed (we got there just a few minutes after it opened so there wasn't really any customers in there yet) and the doorway was blocked with a velvet rope. The bartender saw us and said he would be right out. We figured they just forgot to remove it before opening but we shortly realized they did that so that they could create an experience for guests and control the flow of customers. It was a neat little touch! We did not have reservations (they do a whole tasting menu with cocktails, etc) but we were fine with sitting at the bar because we just wanted a drink. We actually preferred sitting at the bar because we got to watch all the neat cocktails get made! They had an amazing list of cocktails every one was unique with a story and the glassware was specific to the drink. I got the Viking drink as my first drink which came in a horn. My friend got a pumpkin drink with some middle eastern flavors and it came in a gourd. There were cloves under her cup in a little dish that the bartender lit on fire so that the smells would remind her of the flavors of the middle east. We were so impressed with the cocktails and the hospitality that we decided to cancel our dinner reservation and stay for another round. My second drink was the Prohibition old fashioned that is a secret menu item only visible with a blacklight. It was made with house infused red pepper bourbon and tobacco bitters. I'm not a huge red pepper or tobacco fan but I figured why not and I was not disappointed at all! The drink exceeded my expectations. My friends second drink was something to do with Thailand and it had coconut and a bunch of other yummies. She was unsure about it but the bartender urged her to do it and she ended up loving it. Aside from the drinks, the bartenders Luis and Guiermillo were so friendly! They answered all of our silly touristy questions and gave us a few recommendations. We didn't know that you needed a reservation for Park Guell and they were all booked so Luis told us about a spot nearby where we could get a similar view for free! The Alchemix was one of our favorite stops in Barcelona and a lot of it had to do with how friendly Luis and Guiermillo were. Next time I'm back in Barcelona I want to check out their food! Can't wait to go back!

Beyond rude and disrespectful management aka owner. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all cost unless you want to be treated horribly!!!! As a tourist, feeling respected and safe in a foreign country should be of most importance. Shame on you!!!

Don't hesitate - just go! SO good! Food/drinks: did I say this was SO good! We started with the white truffle pisco sour (yum!!) and the other recommended pre-meal cocktail (also yum). We didn't do the tasting menu and instead ordered 5 plates to share: chicken satay (heard it was AMAZING, but didn't partake), cockles (mollusks in yummy light curry sauce), lobster tartare (out of this world with lobster,wagyu jerky, caviar, tomato, and deliciousness), eggplant tartare (also amazing - one of the best eggplant dishes I've had; explosive flavors), and pork ribs (good but least favorite and I could have done without). This was more than enough food for 2. I had a glass of dry white with the meal (meh) and - my fav - the Thai-inspired coconut milk cocktail for dessert that came with some plantain/banana chips. Service: 5 star. Very attentive but not overbearing. Really lovely and helpful. Top! Ambiance: Beautiful, simple, and thoughtful environment that matched the world-inspired, nature-centered menu. Our reservation (via the Fork) was for 8:30 p, and there was no one! Within the hour, 4 other tables filled, creating a bit more of a lively ambiance. An absolute highlight of my first time in Barcelona! A little off a path I would have seen but the absolute best place to end my trip!

Great drinks and especially great craftsmanship for the drinks! The bartenders were experts making drinks and had enthusiasm while showing us how the drinks were made. I definitely recommend coming here to get fun/delicious drinks. I enjoyed the Mrs. pots drink and the coconut drink We also shared a few appetizers that were good. We really enjoyed the curry clams, the ribs and the croquettes. The potato with crispy blood sausage was underwhelming. I will definitely come back here next time I'm in Barcelona!

We wanted to like this restaurant very. Several of the dishes were really stand out. The duck was incredible. So was the caviar. But the sea urchin approached gross. Hard to get past that. And not in a "sea urchin is challenging" sort of way. We love it generally. The drink pairings were also a huge miss. Overly sweet concoctions that served to diminish the flavors of the food and left a sticky Slurpee-like sugar residue in your mouth. Service was great and the space is very cool. We might have been in an off night.

I've never had a person claiming to be a proprietor be so rude to potentially good clients....so snobby, don't bother, you'll wait in a snobby line.

This is a super cool bar with amazing bartenders, unique drinks and a unique interior look! I ordered La Noche de Avecina, along with the hidden special drink. Video of the special drink is in my review! I stayed and chatted with one of the bartenders who came to Barcelona from Argentina!

all I have to say is "Wow." I just came from Sips (#1 bar in the world) which I had a good experience, but Alchemix blew it out of the water. The Pumpkin Lassi (best drink), Tiramisu martini (#2), Arashi Spirit, and the Khao Tom Mad... amazing experience. initially we just stumbled in for drinks... we now made a reservation for their prefix with mini cocktail pairing. I can barely hold my excitement. Please ask for Ignacio who gave us the most enlightening tour of the restaurant chalk full of artistic flair and attention to detail. definitely a memorable experience I will remember for life. No cap. Try the pumpkin Lassi. if you don't share that same enlightenment after a sip, we can't be friends.

Best meal of my life. Nacho is the man. Amazing dinner. I would 100% recommend the full menu and cocktail pairing. It was just a continuous stream of amazing dish after amazing dish. The drinks were incredible and well matched to each course. It's honestly worth the splurge.

This has been one of my most memorable dining experiences. The food was fantastic and the drink pairings were stellar. I could see this place getting a Michelin star so definitely come here before it gets harder to get a table! Most importantly, having to dine with good company in a place with a positive atmosphere such as this is just something that is so rare and special, it will be an experience I will never forget.

Phenomenal brand new gastropub in the heart of Barcelona specializing in mixology and the ultimate unique drinking experience ! This venue opened only two months ago, website is still under construction. We happened to be staying at an Airbnb across the street and stopped in for a drink. Outside, the sign is venerable yet unassuming; however once you enter it's like walking into a different world! The decor is modern with a prohibition flare and there is the utmost attention to each and every detail throughout the bar and restaurant areas. We put our trust in the bartender and he made some of the most sensational, exciting drinks that we've ever had! I say exciting specifically because sitting at the bar as the bartender was concocting everything we ordered, he explained the inspiration and steps behind each drink as he went (providing the coolest videos!!) and absolutely radiated passion for what he was doing. Our quick stop for a drink before dinner turned into an exceptionally memorable experience (+drinks!) and I would absolutely recommend stopping in to see it for yourself! You won't be disappointed.

I love a well crafted cocktail, and the guys here at Alchemix went way above and beyond my expectations. The atmosphere is mad scientist meets Pottery barn, in the best way possible - I love the version of the periodic table that they have behind the main bar. The cocktail book itself is a work of art in itself, each concoction is paired with a brief intro explaining the inspiration behind each drink, whether it be a region or the world (the Jalisco and Thai drinks were amazing) or a time in history (prohibition) or a story (Beauty and the Beast and Game of Thrones!) as well as the major notes behind each drink - floral, sour, smoky, etc. You can tell the bartenders here are really passionate about what they do, and the time and effort they put into each drink does not go unnoticed. Between the three of us, we sampled almost every drink on the menu. Not only are the presentations incredible - the Mrs Potts came with an actual "steaming" teapot (dry ice) that put out yummy floral fragrances, my prohibition cocktail was tobacco smoked in a glass case at the table - each drink is complex and well balanced and absolutely delicious! Though the prices are a bit higher than the 5€ cocktails that you can find elsewhere in this neighborhood, you're paying for quality ingredients as well as a fantastic show. I really cannot recommend Alchemix enough!

What a wonderful place. Stopped in on a whim while waiting for our group to be complete to go out for the night and had no clue what we had just discovered. Upon sitting down at the bar the the atmosphere was relaxed but still exciting. It was fun to just sit an explore the Decor of the place. Our group trusted the recommendation of our bartender who turned out to be one of the owners. It truly is exciting to see someone in their element and so passionate about the job they do. Every drink we had was crafted down to the detail. As well the ingredients being explained and why they were added. My favorite was "The Viking" This will definitely be one of the first stops on a return trip to Barcelona and possibly another to one of their other 3 locations they have throughout the world.

Came across the bar with my friends. First thing we noticed was the authenticity and originality of their bar. Bartender/Co-owner Nacho was super welcoming and informative of the entire concept. Super tasty, crafty, and interesting drinks. Their restaurant is a taste-menu which fuses the cultures of Asia and Catalonia. If looking for great experience and tasty drinks/food, I fully recommend this joint.

Honestly, my favorite experience in Barcelona. Our server, Nacho, truly went above and beyond. Each drink has a story, and it comes with quite a show. If you're looking for a server to plop down a simple drink and walk away like you barely exist, this isn't the place to go. Welcoming and exciting, The Alchemix is an evening experience! You're going to want to order every drink on the menu!

Drinks are excellent and the service and presentation is second to none. Great place for out of towners they explain all their mixology very well in English and cater the cocktails to your preference. I had the prohibition special which was read to me through a black light on the menu. Red pepper bourbon with a cohiba smoke mixed on top for extra aroma and flavor. 9/10.

A new favorite bar!! I am not even sad I'll have to travel again to Spain to enjoy it ;-) Brilliant concept, and beautifully executed. Drinks were excellent, and the presentation was beautiful, innovative, and just fun. I totally geeked out from the moment I walked in, in the best possible way. Bartender was so so so nice also, it made the whole experience even better.

This place has the COOLEST concept. Spoke with the owner who created this restaurant with Spanish and Thai influences. Only came here for drinks, but we ended up coming back twice because it was so great! The drink menu is small, but they are so intricate and well-crafted. The Khao Niao Mamuang was the best drink I've ever had. It tastes exactly as it's described. The servers/bartenders were so knowledgeable and passionate about their menu. I really loved this place and will recommend to others. Will have to come back to try their food in the future.

Never written a re ire for drinks. I am a classical old fashion guy love my gin and tonic. But this place is like a gourmet kitchen for drinks. Tried 4 ( pics attached) they were out of this world. Never thought Alcohol can taste this good. Coming here again and try some food this time.

Top tier cocktail bar! One of the most dynamic and creative drink list in Spain. The bartenders are extremely dedicated to their craft and attentive to small details that make all the difference. If you are looking for a spot to have a memorable night in Barcelona, this is a must!

A great new spot in Barcelona! Fascinating blend of Catalonian ingredients and various Asian dishes. The cuttlefish and meatball gyoza were a delicious example. We also loved the tomato salad with partridge. We took a chance on the blood sausage/egg/potato gratin combo and were well-rewarded. Every dish was adventurous, artfully prepared, and ranged from quite good to excellent. They had a detailed, whimsical drink menu with symbols indicating flavor profiles. The Asian influence appeared here as well; an Indian-inspired beverage served in a hollowed-out cinnamon tree trunk was a crowd pleaser, with a very nice balance of cream and spices. It smelled great too! Every person we interacted with - server, host, bartender, chef (!) - was incredibly friendly; you can tell they really care about the customer experience. Will definitely visit again!

The alchemist is a refined space with industrial meets modern chic. Unfortunately this charm does not save it from the rude, ever wanting management team that truly bring shame on the establishment. We were met by the owner who upon realizing we were inclusive of 6 guys for the night, refused service to us, while offering service to our female friends. Barcelona meets meat packing... enough said

Overpriced. And not a Gastropub. Small tapas are offered at 5 Euros for EACH piece. The wine list is decent, but per glass or bottle, it is too much money for the wines being offered. Servers are friendly and very attentive. The crowd is nice. The surroundings/interior are great, but too far off the beaten path.

Favorite cocktail bar in Barcelona, hands down. The cocktails are carefully curated by friendly bartenders who take their work seriously. The atmosphere is modern yet warm and inviting. Wow! I have no words to express this place. Hands down best cocktail place we've experienced thus far. We would travel all the way from California just to enjoy a cocktail here. This is hands down the coolest, most unique bar I have ever been! Not only are the drinks incredibly delicious, but they each have a back story and are prepared and present in a unique way that most wouldn't even dream of. Everything about this place is amazing and I can not recommend it enough. It is a must visit for tourists like myself and locals alike. I am lucky there is not one back home because I would probably develop a drinking problem if there was - the drinks are that amazing!

Innovative but trying too hard drinks - went there late night with friends and we got shushed twice ... at a bar no less! Another table got shushed and told to be quiet as well - even though the bar was completely empty aside from us - and they were so upset they actually got up and left without paying for the check. Why would a bar want people to be quiet! We had the teapot and pumpkin lassi drinks - way too sweet

I cannot day enough good things about this place! We stayed in Barcelona for 6 days and came here 3 times!! For starters, the food and drinks are AMAZING. The team cares so much about your experience, everything they serve is pure perfection. They stick to theme in everything they do, creating drinks that remind you of magic potions while you sit surrounded by apothecary jars filled with mysterious items. The workers are friendly and easy to talk to, they genuinely care about you. The last night we came back to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and they surprised him with a dessert (and remembered he was gluten free!). By the time we had to leave it felt like we were saying goodbye to good friends. If I return to Barcelona, this will be one of my first stops!

The cocktails were amazing. The waiter fabulous. The atmosphere great until.... Our party of four was having a great time until there was an act of discrimination. The manager came and rudely told our friend that her laugh was too loud and to keep it down. We were not loud, leary, nor drunk. Apparently there was a complaint. When asked for further information and clarity as to why she was being singled out and yes she had a loud laugh, but that is her laugh and why is she being ostracised for this. Furthermore, there was a party behind us that were English as well and their loud voice, and conversation included an obscene amount of vulgarity but that was ok (they were men) . At this point, the co-owner came in and decided that it is easier and better to deal with the only man in the group. From that point he only spoke to our male friend and anytime one of the women tried to discuss or make a point he ignored us, cut us off and referred back and maintained a conversation with the man only. He did not want to understand the female point of view nor how to learn from this situation (for that manager needs training) or how a woman can feel discriminated against due to their actions. A great evening celebrating life with friends ruined by this one act. Sexism is never okay. Sexism in 2020 is wholly unacceptable.

Very happy to have stumbled across this gem while I was in Barcelona! My boyfriend and I stopped in to get a drink on Saturday night and really enjoyed the uniqueness of the cocktails. Their menu theme based on different tastes and sensations and they describe each drink in detail, which makes it very easy to pick something you would like. Also heard it's great if you tell the bartender what you like and they will make something for you, though we decided to just get the drinks that were on the menu. As avid cocktail drinkers, I can definitely say the bartenders are extremely skilled and have done a great job. Our waiter was a little slow, especially towards the end, but I didn't want to downrate the experience because the drinks are truly special.
