"After a kitchen fire back in March, James Beard award-winning chef Scott Conant’s the Americano reopened on September 1 inside the InterContinental Buckhead with refreshed menus and a facelift. "From a big celebrity chef, this Italian steakhouse is another top steak option in the district, but it throws in great pasta options as well. Located in the Intercontinental, the restaurant rarely draws large, noisy (and perhaps nosy) crowds—perfect for navigating any awkward getting-to-know-you conversation out of earshot of others. Most of the menu items are simple but elevated takes on the usual steak cuts, house salads, and pasta. Or come to spoil your old flame with wine and some of the best focaccia we’ve ever had. If you’re feeling extra frisky, order the fantastic rigatoni with marinara and see where the night takes you. "When you’re using your fingers to scrape up the last of the creamy polenta with savory mushroom au jus, you’ll be grateful for the seclusion that Buckhead’s Americano provides. A long, cavernous dining room with high-back leather booths feels private for couples, hides celebrities (who we only spotted when they walked to their table), and provides shelter for folks out with their sneaky links. The polenta is the best thing here, but Americano's juicy steaks and housemade pastas are excellent, too. The Italian steakhouse offers the usual cuts, which are sliced and served on a giant wooden cutting board with your choice of sauces.
