10 Delicious Clam Pastas to Try in Los Angeles - Eater LA

"Longtime Drago Centro chef Ian Gresik and wife Nancy now run a seasonal, farm-to-table restaurant called The Arbour in Pasadena. The space is true to the building’s name, with landscaping along South Lake Avenue, and plant-life throughout. The Arbour makes lively pasta on the premises, fueling plates like linguine and Carlsbad clams ($18). More than a dozen plump Manila clams raised using eco-friendly aquaculture join beautifully chewy pasta in a bright sauce crafted with garlic, butter, white wine, a tiny bit of cream, red chile foam, and herbs." - Joshua Lurie

Went here to celebrate my mom's anniversary and it was perfect! A cozy seating, an attentive server, and delicious food rounded out the night. We tried the prosciutto and peaches toast appetizer (10/10!) & the Mediterranean Sea Bass (10/10) & the short rib special (9/10). We finished with coffee and the pineapple sorbet and the vanilla panna cotta with rhubarb and strawberry topping. Our server was attentive and polite, giving us space to make sure we enjoyed our privacy, but he was close by to ensure our water was refilled and our table was cleared. I would definitely return here again, I can't wait to see what other seasonal pairings they come up with. This spot is great for a date night, anniversary or girls fancy night out. And there's lots of shopping nearby too!

I took my brother and boyfriend here for their birthdays (both have bdays in March), the service was amazing and the food was even better! We got the spinach artichoke pasta appetizer and I could have had that and the Caesar salad (which was also amazing) for dinner. My bf had the wild mushroom risotto and it was perfectly cooked. The bucatini and the tuna were also on point. The portions are large so the price it’s reasonable for quantity AND quality. They even gave each of them their own amazing ice cream cake (pictured, and yes the sign is made from chocolate :-) 10/10 would go there again if we ever make it back to Pasadena or close by.

Wonderful from beginning to end. I went with family to celebrate my birthday. There were several other birthday celebrations happening the same night and several families out for Sunday dinner. Service was great, I only gave it 3 stars for service because our server definitely farted on a pass by our table, but the hostess was amazing and very attentive she even introduced us to the chef at the end of the night.

Sit at the bar! You'll get even better service than at a table. Last time we were here it was OK ... the food brought us back more than anything. This time they were booked so we sat at the bar, and the service was impeccable. We ordered the beef chili, which has a beef fat candle that you can NOT miss out on, the duck duo and the spaghetti. The food still didn't disappoint, and this time the service at the bar was just phenomenal. Amazing local gem.

Google
Quite delightful experience for me. The food was alright (not as mind-blowing as we’d expected), but it was decent. I had a duck as an entree and felt like it was under seasoned and texture was not as tender - I usually like it more charred and crispy on the skin. The dessert was pretty solid in my opinion, drinks were also on point (top quality French wine selections). I really enjoyed the ambiance here, seems pretty upscale and classy though I’d hope the food could be more elevated for this type of location in Pasadena.

One of the best filets I’ve ever had! No bad parts in the meat, the sauce was very tasty, and everything came together very nicely. Complimentary bread. Everyone was very kind and the service was quick. I also got the chocolate mousse to go and it was quite bitter. It is an acquired taste.

We held a graduation party in the private room last night. It was fabulous. Great service. Wonderful food and atmosphere. I have dined here before but this was our first party. The team did a great job. 5 stars!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. New to the neighborhood (moved here from DTLA) so I’ve been missing pasta from Bestia. Saw good reviews of Arbour and seems like a farm to table concept which is my favorite. We made Saturday night reservations and the hostess walked us to our table right away. The establishment was classic yet still lively and casual enough to not feel very stuffy. Our server Lorna (I hope I spelled her name right) was very welcoming and friendly. She recommended the crab pasta special and wow it did not disappoint! Looked so simple but literally tasted like ocean. My husband got the shrimp pasta which was also amazing! I kept eating off his plate. There were a lot big chunks of shrimp and the creamy sauce was so rich and flavorful without overpowering. Lorna also said the portions are pretty big and she did not lie! We were both stuffed and packed the leftover to go. We also got the Brussels sprouts salad which was refreshing. For drinks I got the limoncello spritz drink and it was also delicious. Overall we loved everything from the food & drink to the service we received. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Easy five star. Service was great, ambiance was perfect, and the food was delicious. Perfect for a romantic date. It was clear to see that the owner and all the staff took great pride in their work. Couldn't recommend more!

Yelp
My amazing daughter just came back from her freshman year in college, and to kick off the summer I took her here for dinner. Of course I made no reservations because daddy is a well-known idiot, but they had some seats at the bar and we jumped right in. Fun menu, but in a rare display of demonstrating a remarkably low level of feasting adventure, we both just split the Caesar salad and went with the pasta: my baby had Shrimp Penne, the old man went with Bucatini Spaghetti. The salad was really pretty good (speaking as a Caesar snob who has been known to stand up and throw it to the floor and curse out loud at a bad Caesar dressing). Both pastas were really good, although I found the Shrimp Penne a tad too garlicky. The Bucatini was really delicious. This is a really beautiful place, fantastic service, great food. I've been here a few times and it seems to really be picking up steam, very busy night which makes me very happy. Keep up the great work!!

Yelp
My partner and I came here to celebrate a special occasion after canceling our original reservation a few months prior. We were seated right away on a Saturday and the restaurant was quite busy. We ordered a cold appetizer and some drinks. The first drink I ordered didn't peak my interest and our server gracefully allowed me to order another one. Our entrees came and the presentation was great. Overall romantic atmosphere with a very low volume of chit chatter across the restaurant. What was lacking was the personable experience from our server. This stuck out when another waitress came by to take our check and she was super friendly. I do appreciate the complimentary dessert but it could've been a better experience had there been more enthusiasm and friendliness.

Yelp
We were visiting from out of town and chose Arden based on the positive reviews we saw on Yelp. We were not disappointed! The decor and ambiance are very elegant, and the waitstaff was polite and percipient. I started with a pineapple mezcal margarita, and my spouse ordered a Prosecco sparkling wine. The margarita was unique and delicious! For salads, we ordered the California Caesar and the kale salad with warm goat cheese. Although both were good, the kale salad was exquisite! For entrées, we ordered the seared yellowfin tuna and the roasted salmon. While both were enjoyed, the seared tuna stood out with its tasty soy hollandaise sauce. For dessert, we shared a chocolate mousse pie with cookie crumble, which was rich, creamy, and absolutely delectable. We were waited on by Judy, who was very attentive, charming, and friendly. We feel we picked a winner for our one night in Pasadena and give Arden two thumbs up!

Yelp
Pros: fantastic service, Manhattan restaurant vibes, lively atmosphere and the Vodka sauce pasta was perfection. Cons: appetizers such as the potato croquettes, Brussel sprout salad and brie toast was basic. Crowd included handsome men having business dinner and a few couples; no kids. (Yay) I hope 1 day they have valet We agreeed wed be back for the drinks and pasta.

Yelp
Ambiance, staff, food all amazing! Loved this restaurant! I will definitely come back, a lot! They treat you with incredible service.

Yelp
Went here for early Valentine's Day & loved it. First of all the ambiance is soooo cute. Restaurants excel at being either "homey" or "modern" but Arbour strikes the perfect balance between the two! The service was also fantastic! Now onto the food... we got: Potato croquettes- sooo good imagine loaded baked potato in mini bite form! Caesar salad- solid salad! I love that they put it in two separate bowls for us so I basically had my own lil salad Pork pasta dish- so good! I loved how light the broth was and the kick from the sausage (or seasoning?) was sooo tasty! Seabass- this was good! It was crispyyyyy and came with a yummy polenta cake! All in all I loved this place & would love to come back!

Yelp
I've been meaning to try The Arbour since it opened back in 2017. Everyday I'd pass by it on my drive home from work, and whenever I was stuck in traffic on Lake ave, I would try to get a glimpse of what laid behind the wide-paned windows of this enigmatic (and relatively new) restaurant. Even from my car window, I could feel the warm, rustic, and inviting vibe of The Arbour beckoning me to come inside and delight in a comforting meal. My moment finally came this weekend and gosh am I impressed! Let's start with the atmosphere ... the country style of The Arbour is on point! The incandescent lighting, high beam ceilings, and vibrant artwork all set a tranquil tone. The mood is elegant yet also laid-back, which allows one to engage in intimate conversations or lighthearted laughter with their chosen company. Now for the food ... The Arbour provides a pure and sophisticated farm-to-table dining experience. The dishes are not only delicious, but also healthy! Whole foods - ranging from meats, grains, vegetables and fruit - are fresh and seasoned in a way that brings out their best taste. I was surprised by the beautiful presentation and generous portion sizes of our meal, which included the Beet salad, Seabass, and Shrimp Penne. Before the main course, we were even served fresh, warm bread with a dollop of garlic butter. Everything was delectable! Gorgonzola cheese and walnuts paired perfectly in my beet salad, while the succulent seabass (the centerpiece my entree) was served with crispy polenta cakes and savory vegetables. Yum! My friend tucked into his creamy shrimp penne with relish and enjoyed it with a refreshing glass of Chardonnay. Finally, the service was so friendly and attentive. We were seated quickly and got our order in within 10-15 minutes. Our waitress made some great dinner suggestion and even helped me create the perfect mocktail (lime and mint)! Bottom line, The Arbour is one of my new favorite restaurants in Pasadena. I would love to come back here and try their many other exotic dishes. I highly recommend this place for a romantic date night or fun dinner with friends!

Yelp
I have not updated my review in years. Yet, The Arbour is has been my dining place of choice. Usually, I make a reservation on OpenTable. It is a good system where your reservation doesn't get lost. Service and kitchen runs well. Everything is delicious!!! From the warm bread roll to the appetizers and entrees. My favorite is the Mediterranean seabass with the polenta cakes and fennel served with celery root foam. I've had various dishes several times but this one inspires me to try to recreate it. Rarely do I have room for dessert. I only leave room for a bite but found myself eating more...heheh. I'm due for another visit soon. =)

Yelp
On a Wednesday night, two casually dressed patrons walked into The Arbour. Their boyfriend booked a reservation to dine in earlier that week and had a nice dinner the day of :) So, I was dressed a bit more casually than my bf since I was wearing a t shirt and leggings. Most of the patrons were in business casual, that didn't stop the staff from being so nice to us. Service was amazing. We were taken care of by our waitress and she was offering us great recommendations. I couldn't choose between duck or beef, but I ultimately went with the Duo of Duck. Da boy got the salmon. The appetizers were delicious! We got a beef salad to get in our veg and potato croquettes. I was craving french fries but the croquettes hit the spot. It was dressed with bacon and cheese; that combo will never do you wrong. Our mains were awesome. The duck was succulent but it was enough for me to finish. Bf loved the salmon! We both tried a small bite of our portions just because and it was great. Overall, we had a good experience dining at The Arbour and I'd be happy to come back again :)

Yelp
Still dreaming about our last visit to The Arbour ... This is a 5 star experience as far as food, drinks, service, ambience, ... We have gone here for date night, girls night out and big group gathering and every single time had a great time. In our last time we went as a group of 10 and our waitress which shamefully I have forgotten the name, a young lady with black curly hair provided very fun, warm and professional service. It was delightful to have her smily face, great recommendations and nice sense of humor. You can see most of our food orders in the photos but what truly could easily be my only food for the rest of my life is Wild Mushroom Agnolotti! It is creamy, mushroomy, perfectly al dante pillows of pasta! Also loved loved the Shrimp Penne, again with fantastic sauce and pretty big portion too. We devoured the apple strudel dessert but the chocolate mousse was not our most favorite one. All in all we'll definitely keep going back when we want a consistently 5 star experience!

Yelp
The Arbour's ambiance is romantic, perfect for a date night...I would love to come back again just for the vibes! Everything we ordered was amazing and my favorite's got to be the Wild Mushroom and Ricotta Agnolotti - it's so light and sophisticated at the same time. I'd honestly be happy to just get appetizers here because the shaved Brussel sprout salad was also amazing; but the duo of duck was phenomenal in its own way. The only thing that I didn't enjoy from the Arbour were the cocktail drinks. I will skip that and get a glass of wine to pair with my food instead.

Yelp
I've been here a few times for after work functions: the ambiance is classy, the food is delicious, and the service is wonderful. Parking is on the street or in the back lot for free. You pass through the door that looks like it needs a badge to go through to get to the restaurant. The food is on point. I really enjoy the Red Beet Salad, Shrimp Penne, and Spicy Beef Chili. The chili presentation is quite fun: the candle is made of lard of sorts, and after it has melted you mix it into the chili and dip with bread. I get the shrimp penne every time I'm here. And I don't normally like beet, but this is delicious. It can get pretty loud in the restaurant even in a private room. The decor is rustic and gorgeous and dimly lit. The bathrooms are clean and decorated as well. Recommend!

Yelp
I've been wanting to go to The Arbour and turns out my beautiful Sissy Melineh did too, so our girl's night out spot was secured! As soon as I walked in, the delicious smell of garlic French fries permeated the air. I was impressed with the size of the restaurant. It has an open kitchen, a large bar, and spacious dining area. The ambience is upscale & lively with a warm & welcoming vibe. The staff were all friendly - hostess, bartender, servers, & even the GM who checked in on us. Our servers Kathy & Judy were both darling & attentive. We started with cocktails. I decided to try one of their specialties - The Honeymoon (Bourbon, Cointreau, honey syrup, & lemon.) It was a delightful twist on a Sidecar, just a bit sweeter. Kathy brought us some freshly baked bread rolls with butter that was sprinkled with sea salt & rosemary. The presentation was nice and the rolls were still warm & yummy. The menu is seasonal, and everything is made with fresh, local, organic ingredients. We ordered a few dishes to share: Shaved Brussel Sprout Salad, Potato Croquettes, Cheese Toast, & Bucatini Spaghetti with vodka sauce. The pasta was handmade and cooked to perfection. (Gluten free also available.) We both agreed that it was the best we've had in L.A., and I'm very picky when it comes to pasta. The Cheese Toast was also delightful - featuring a Saint Andre triple cream on a thick slice of toasted brioche drizzled with a tart cherry compote. The Shaved Brussel Sprout Salad contained toasted pine nuts & goat cheese and was lightly coated in a white wine vinaigrette. The flavor combination was nice, but it was missing a little something. The Potato Croquettes are garnished with cheddar cheese & bacon on a bed of crème fraiche. We were able to get them without the bacon. However, we weren't blown away by this dish. Halfway through our meal a tray of martinis caught my eye, so I asked Kathy if they had blue cheese stuffed olives. She said they did, and they were hand stuffed. SCORE! My next cocktail was a Grey Goose Martini dry with those delightful Blue Cheese stuffed olives. It was excellent. If I worked in the area I would absolutely be here on a regular basis for Happy Hour. Even though I don't, I'll definitely be back for the pasta and that excellent Martini and maybe even the garlic fries! HH Mon - Friday 4p - 5:30p Bar Only. Free parking behind the restaurant on Hudson.

Yelp
Hubby and I were late in looking for a place to celebrate our wedding anniversary Saturday night. There were lots of places to choose from, but so many of them were already reserved by the Thursday before. So we went to our Yelp friends and found some nice recommendations for The Arbour, which luckily had a table available. I would say this is like a Parkway Grill for the younger crowd, however there were some of us Modern Elders there too. Tables were close, but not too close, we had a great server, Ashley who was very attentive. We were happy with all the food. I had the shrimp penne which was rich, but lots of shrimp and a giant portion. Looking forward to finishing it today. Hubby was happy with the sea bass - it was cooked beautifully. Since we had mentioned our anniversary when making our Open Table reservation, we received a complimentary dessert, which was very thoughtful. Free parking in the back of the building off of Hudson. We are looking to coming back and checking out the happy hour, too.

Yelp
The Arbour experience was great! Make sure to make reservations. I never thought that this restaurant was found right in the middle of Lake Ave in Pasadena. It was very chic. We enjoyed pre-dinner drinks at the bar while waiting for our whole party. We decided to share our apps (burrata ans brussel sprouts salad). Definitely order the spicy beef chili. The "candle" was a near experience. I enjoyed the seared yellowfin tuna.

Yelp
Had reservations for Mother's Day and was not disappointed! I love the ambiance here. Next Time I will try to sit near the open kitchen so I can watch the magic happen. I had the fusilli with pesto, also tried the filet mignon, potato croquettes, and spice chili appetizers. My pasta was delicious and was a huge portion, definitely two meals worth for me. The filet was great, I just didn't love the roasted veggies and gnocchi that came on the side. Potato croquettes are just fancy tater tots (as far as I could tell?), but they were yummy tater tots! I didn't try the spicy chili bread dip, but it came with a beef tallow candle which was a unique touch. You let the candle melt and then stir the tallow in to the chili before eating. Others in my party enjoyed it! The menu changes semi often, I would like to go back and try some different options next time. It's a little loud (typical of a busy weekend no matter where you go). One of our cocktails was forgotten about, but they brought it when we reminded our server and they removed it from the bill.

Yelp
My first time enjoying a girl's night out and having dinner at the Arbour in Pasadena. This cute place is ideal and quite busy filled with a ton of people enjoying the company and the food here. They have a ton of variety drinks to choose from and also a wide variety of menu items. I liked how they split everything for us into two so we could enjoy our food and not have to do it ourselves. The server was super nice and she has it down even with a ton of tables. This place was super packed on a Friday night. But I still enjoyed our dinner. We ordered a salad, fish, and a hamburger plus dessert. Overall I feel like the portion size is large because even though it was divided into two we barely were able to finish our meal. Liked the crispiness of the fish texture and the burger was cooked nicely. The beet salad with blue cheese was nice.

Yelp
The food was amazing as always lobster risotto and yellowfin tuna on garlic polenta cakes were phenomenal!!! Service was great and bar staff were knowledgeable and made great drink suggestions!

Yelp
Grabbed a reservation here thru Open Table to celebrate a friend's birthday. Try to score street parking on Lake, otherwise turn onto Hudson and try not to miss their log in the back. Service was gracious and constantly on the go. Decor was vague, but I think it leans towards California coastal - like straight from a Crate and Barrel catalog or contemporary Ritz Carlton hotel. The table was tickled by the ingredient list to their spicy beef chili - which included "love." And it showed! Easily the better appetizer since oysters were so-so. Drinks were ok. Half the table opted for the tri-tip special, a very safe choice. My friend picked at his sea bass, whereas I gobbled up my duo of duck - the roasted breast being the better of the two.

Yelp
Had reservations for 7pm on a Friday night and the restaurant was packed. Was told had to wait for another 10-15 minutes to get a table unless we wanted a larger table in the middle of the restaurant - since everyone was hungry we opted for the larger table. All night long , people were bumping into our table. The service was meh. Ordered a lychee cocktail- glass was warm and cocktail itself had no flavor. Ordered a chicken dish- fine overall but green beans lacked flavor. Overall place was fine but most likely not return.

Yelp
My friend and I came here last night for a dinner since she was visiting. We both ordered appetizers the Caesar salad for her and the beet salad for me. The were really delicious. I loved my beet salad with goat cheese that I asked to swap with. I ordered the blackened chicken. Omg it was so tasty! The onion cream sauce was amazing! The service was also perfect and friendly workers. Quick as well. I'd definitely want to come back to try more dishes from them. The inside is very cute, clean and cozy. There is tons of street parking that's metered but free after 6pm. There is also parking in the next door by Erwon you can park.

Yelp
My husband and I had our wedding dinner here. It was nothing but amazing. The food was spectacular and the ambiance was exemplary for our small wedding. We reserved the front end of the restaurant and it was perfect. Nancy was so helpful in planning this and very supportive. Our guests still cannot stop talking about how delicious the food was, the outstanding service and how perfect it was for us. Thank you Nancy and staff for making our intimate dream wedding dinner come true!

Yelp
Attended a 75th birthday celebration. The food was great. It was a set menu. I tried the steak which was delicious, and I tried the pasta. It's very tasty. Service was very attentive and and it was a perfect setting for the birthday gathering. Especially with my family.

It was absolutely amazing! Everything we order was delicious. Portions are extremely large and you can definitely share an entree with 2-3 people. They are massive!

Yelp
New Year's Eve PRESET menu $128/person. The light was dim and the ambiance was romantic. There were a lot of people on dates here. It felt like we didn't have one set server. Many workers on the floor came to our table. - Tuna Tartare 4.1/5 It was tasty, but I feel like it was missing some sort of acid on the plate, like a piece of lemon. The small quinoa chip on top was crunchy, and the yellow dots on the plate tasted like mayo? The tuna was pretty good. - Jumbo Lump Crab cake 2.8/5 It was very greasy tasting. Did not taste like an expensive appetizer. It also came with some mayo based sauce. It was heavy. - Lamb Rack 4.6/5 Lamb was tasty and cooked well. It was nicely seasoned. The mash and veggies were delicious. - Scallop Pasta 3.9/5 Scallops were only seared on one side. It was nicely seasoned. The pasta was very heavy. Wish it was lighter, instead of creamier and dense. - Espresso Terrine 2.6/5 Tasted like chocolate mousse. Very light on the espresso taste. - Cheesecake 2.1/5 Basic cheesecake, not as good as cheesecake factory's. Parking is street parking.

Yelp
I went with a party of 4 to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Monday night. One of my friends made a reservation online, on the website (www.thearbourpasadena.com). We arrived promptly and were seated down right away. The ambiance of the restaurant had dimly lit lighting, which always eases the nerves, definitely a place to bring a romantic partner or close family members. Our waiter, Thomas, was friendly, funny, and attended to my friends' dietary and allergy restrictions like a true professional - which was much appreciated! The menu selection at The Arbour was straight forward and included a variety of appetizers, entrees, and desserts to please a crowd. My group got some appetizers to share - the Cesar Salad and the Spicy Beef Chili, which included complimentary bread and butter. I must say, the bread and butter already stole the show for me but the lit candle made of fat on the Spicy Beef Chili was a surprise (and a fun thing to watch). I got the roasted salmon as an entree, which was enough to fill my hunger, and allow me to take some leftovers home! I also got to try my friends' dishes as well, the pasta and duck in particular, which was also delicious. We shared the Creme Brulee and the Chocolate Mouse Cake to finish off a special night to celebrate my friend's birthday. We all had a great time. I'll definitely be back with more friends and recommend The Arbour as a fantastic restaurant choice in Pasadena.

Yelp
The Arbor is a great dinner spot. Whether you're looking for a date spot, celebrating life, or just a night out. In my opinion, this restaurant is underrated. It doesn't get the amount of credit it deserves in terms of quality of food, service and ambiance. As you walk inside, they have a small indoor garden, creating a relaxing and cozy atmosphere. The restaurant is nicely decorated. In my opinion, The Arbor should have the same amount of ratings compared to Luggage room, Alexander's and Granville. The level of service and food quality is certainly on par. The ingredients used for their dishes are very fresh and well put together. Here's a walkthrough of our meal. Complimentary bread. Normally, I pass on the bread because it's a filler. However, the dinner roll at The Arbor is perfect; it's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside similar to a baguette but not as hard or chewy. The butter and salt that accompanies the bread is so good. It's soft, creamy, tasty and the sea salt brings out the flavor. We got the tagliatelle and Brussels sprouts salad to start off. I wish the tagliatelle was a full entree offered because it's that good. It's juicy porky flavor with fennel accompanied by fresh fat pasta. The Brussels salad is lightly dressed. The creamy texture of the goat cheese pairs well with the greens. For the main course, we had the duo of duck and shrimp penne. The duck was not gamey. It was tender and juicy with a crispy skin. The second part of the duo was a crispy tasty fried duck. The dish was served with a side of really delicious radish with buttery mashed potatoes and spinach. The shrimp penne is surprisingly good. There's large chunks of deveined and deshelled shrimp drenched in a buttery Alfredo sauce and pasta. To finish it all off, I ordered the semifreddo. Unfortunately, this was not a creamy, soft textured semi-frozen mousse that I was expecting. Taste-wise the guava purée pairs well the almond. However, this was not a dessert I would order again. So why the five stars and not four? Despite the dessert, our server was so sweet. She noticed that I didn't really touch the dessert or wanted it to go. Rather than just brushing it off, she offered another option to go and asked what could be improved. She took off the dessert from our bill after listening to why I didn't enjoy it. That was the highlight of my night, that she cared. Overall the dinner service was great and attentive. But this definitely made me feel like a valued customer and I look forward to my next date night back here. For parking, street parking is your best bet. Reservations are a good idea as we were lucky they had tables when we walked in. Bon appetit yelpers!

Yelp
3 1/2 - 4 $273 with tip for 2 people. 3 drinks, 2 appetizers. 2 entrée and 1 dessert. Kind of expensive I would say. The ambiance here is nice. Coooool bar. Only complaint, a touch noisy. Service is decent, but just ok for $273.00 dollars. Did not Love the menu. Had a hard time to figure out what to order. Appetizers did not do it for me. My corn pasta was decent, but salty. Lobster appetizers is just decent. Meat vey good, but I would service it different with something else. Entrees were ok. Sea bass was a good dish. Very good! I ordered the beef filet since nothing else looked ok for me. The filet meat was delicious, but sauce on the veg and pasta was terrible. Did not get it. Flourless chocolate cake was like eating fudge. It was very heavy. I enjoy a much lighter style where it's more cake tasting than fudge. I would go back for a drink only at the bar only.

Yelp
My new favorite restaurant. I came across this place because I needed a last minute reservation for a date night and they happened to have a spot open. Immediately on walking in I was pleased with the ambiance. We were greeted by a man who appeared to be the manager and then we were promptly seated. Our waiter was Pam and she was an absolute doll. Kind, professional, knowledgeable about the menu. Knew when we wanted her for something and knew when to leave us alone to enjoy our meal. To start they brought out fresh bread and butter. Easily the best bread and butter I've ever had. Like I'm spoiled for other bread and butter now. The butter was salted and tasted so incredibly fresh. I got the corn soup for my appetizer and it was probably the best soup I've ever had. It had the tiniest bit of kick and was just basically a tastebud explosion. My boyfriend got the salad which was incredibly tasty and fresh as well. For our main courses - I got the spaghetti and it was the best I've ever had. Really sizable portion as well. My boyfriend got the chicken and he really enjoyed it. We skipped dessert as we were full but the menu looked like there were some really good options! Before we left the manager came to ask us how we liked our meal which added a personal touch to the experience. I will definitely be back at some point! It was a top notch experience from the beginning to end! Compliment to the chefs and all the staff for an incredible dinner and night out!

Yelp
Looks unassuming outside but classy vibe inside. Love the open concept in both kitchen and dining area. Here are some helpful info and tips: 1. Parking - paid street parking or park in the back for free 2. Service - solid - water, bread, appetizers came promptly even though it was Mother's Day - can be busy on top of today being a Sunday so I was very impressed with the prompt service 3. Food - farm to table per their website and one can tell with the taste of the food from the mushroom soup with a drizzle of truffle (our favorite) oil. Hubby said the truffle taste lingered way after. I love, love, love my beet salad with arugula, goat cheese and caramelized walnuts Mediterranean Sea bass (aka Branzino) - crispy skin on the outside and well seasoned Seared Yellowfin tuna - perfect sear and melt in your mouth goodness on top of yummy polenta cakes This place was a winner with ambiance, food, and service. They had a nice bar area where we saw patrons who did not have reservations get seated. Very diverse clientele from couples, family (young and old) and friends hanging out. If ever you are in the Pasadena area, do check it out! We shall return!

Yelp
A great place for a date, business meetings, or family/ in-laws you need to take out but need something that everyone can easily enjoy. I really really wanted to like this place but it isn't really up to the hype. The food is perfectly fine, don't get me wrong; and the service was good though a bit rushed/not as attentive as expected (Granted it was a weekend full house) but the whole experience was just a solid ok.

Yelp
Good food and vibe. I loved the classy booth seating. It was perfect for our party of 5. Celebrated a birthday here and Judy was a sweet waitress. Made sure we were well taken care of and brought out plates and what we asked for quickly. I wasn't sure what alcoholic drink to order, I just wanted something fruity and sweet. Judy helped me order a raspberry mocktail. Pretty delicious and wasn't on the menu. For appetizers we ordered the pacific oyster, potato croquette and a Golden Beet Salad. For entree, we ordered shrimp penne, parpadelle pasta, bucatini spaghetti, mushroom risotto and the chef special of the night: short rib. Flavors were on point. The bucatini was the best in my opinion, tasted similar to Hong Kong style baked bolognese pasta but the texture and sauce was a bit different. I would come again for date night or for a special occasion.

Yelp
Great Happy Hour. Get there early. Tables and bar seats go quickly. Nice atmosphere. Not loud. Free parking behind the restaurant on Hudson.

Yelp
One of my favorite places. From the free and plentiful parking, to the atmosphere... and most of the food is good. I give it 5 stars, though it's more like 4.3 stars. Sometimes the service is a bit off. If I order a bottle of still, shouldn't it be poured for us? Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. Also, I recently had the pork chops. They were the driest pork chops I ever had in my life. So hard and chewy. I didn't want to send it back because I'm paranoid about kitchen staff spitting in the food or doing something to it. I ate about 30% before giving up. I'm a fan of the bread and butter here. I also love the chili. The salad with beets in it is good, but the brussel sprout salad is a big no for me. The burger is pretty good, as is the pasta. Desserts are pretty good also.

Yelp
It's an upscale chic and trendy restaurant. I had a party of 10, and they were so nice to give us the private dining room, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, food to me was nothing special. We ordered potato croquettes, Caesar salad, and tagliatelle pasta to start. Both the croquettes and salad were very ordinary and uninspired. Potatoes were topped with bacon bits and cheddar cheese while salad was your typical Caesar salad, dishes that you could get at a cheaper restaurant; I was very surprised. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente but was very salty and lacked flavor. Branzino entree was seared perfectly but plain and no flavor. It came with a small side of sautéed vegetables with foam added on top of it. The foam was pointless and did nothing for the dish. Desserts however were very yummy and actually was the highlight of the meal. Service was very nice. Our waiter was attentive and talkative and orders came out on time. Price and portion were adequate. But overall, the food just doesn't taste elevated and special enough for this upscale restaurant. Quality of flavor was lacking in every dish. I really wanted to like this place and give it a higher rating.

Yelp
Had a girls night dinner here on Wednesday. Ambiance is dim lighting perfect for a date night or girls night. It's an open kitchen & you can see your food being cooked. Service was wonderful, several people checked in with us & were super friendly. Lastly the food was phenomenal! They start you with some complimentary bread. We had the beet salad, really good. Then for mains ordered the pappardelle pesto pasta, wild mushroom risotto, & shrimp penne. Their pasta is made fresh in house which was the star of the show. You can taste the freshness. The risotto was also very rich and flavorful. A hidden gem in Pasadena, will definitely be back soon! Ambiance 5/5 Service 5/5 Food 5/5

Yelp
We made a reservation on a Friday night but had to wait since all parties need to be here to be seated. They have free parking in the back-Hudson Ave. or there is free street parking after 6pm. We ordered two appetizers, complimentary bread and butter, 4 entrees for each of us, and two drinks. Everything was pretty good. The sea bass was tender. Pasta seems to be homemade. I would come again for special occasions.

Yelp
My first time at The Arbour and definitely not the last. First and foremost what a wonderful surprise for my husband and I to reconnect with a wonderful server/waiter Patrick whom we have known for many years. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside, it's open, airy, beautiful wooden beans, and an open kitchen. Now onto the food which is a star. each dish is beautifully prepared and delicious My husband started with corn angonlitti pillows of flavor. I started with beet salad. Perfectly dressed. Dinner was Sea Bass and chicken. Each dish is delicious. This entire restaurant is a joy from service to the food Looking forward to my next trip

Yelp
I finally got to try this place last week. We started with some cocktails. I got The Impressionist. Gin, chamomile tea, lavender and a lemon twist. Very good... mildly nuanced. My hubby got the Rum Fashion which was a variation on an old fashioned with Rum. We got 3 appetizers for the table. Pacific Oyster, came 6 pcs. They were fresh. It had a sauce topping with grapefruit that gave a little sweet & sour .. refreshing and balancing Croquette - Potato deep fried cakes.... cute shape, very crispy outside. It was like sausage size shaped french fries with cheese and chopped bacon on top. Wow! Mussels(today special) -fresh , petite size, light sauce, seasoning well. Foamy broth with peas and some kind of root veg. For the main dishes, we all got pasta! I got to try all and I have to say that all pasta cooked perfectly...soft and bouncy . The pasta seems home made because of the texture. My main was Bucatini Spaghetti with vodka tomato creme sauce and pancetta. It was very yummy and very creamy but pretty heavy . Our mom got Pappardelle pasta with basil pesto sauce and Burrata cheese . Pesto sauce was fresh. This was the lightest pasta out of the 3. My man got shrimp penne with white wine cream sauce. It was creamy. Penne and shrimp cooked well! I like this one the most. All pasta dishes were huge! It was like 2 meals in one dish. If you are normal eater you can probably share with someone. Dessert!!!! Fresh Blackberry , lemon curd was light. It's basically exactly what it says. Fresh blackberries (the fruit) with some shortbread cookies and the lemon curd is a sauce. Tart from blackberries with the lemon curd. Sweetness from the shortbread go well together . Almond brittle was crispy and sweet. Dark chocolate mousse was very rich. But surprisingly not super sweet. The berry sauce was tart and the double cream was very creamy and neutral. It was like crème Fraiche. Mixing them together gave a good balance of taste (creamy tart berry sauce with bitter & little sweet dark chocolate mousse ... yummy Warm Apple strudel - not too sweet! Warm Flakey pastry with light apple filling. Slightly sweet and paired with ice cream. Classic flavors. Yum also. The service was good! Not fantastic. We brought our mom (82 years) with us. She had some questions and tried to make conversation with the server. I understand she's kind of just small talking....but she's old. And she's not being rude or anything. But our server seemed to get annoyed by it or she seemed not super friendly toward her...even though our server was older . Anyway, she should just be more cordial I think. The other negative was just our table placement . it was right next to the silverware and plate section and register..... and right by our heads. Servers were talking right over our heads and it was a bit annoying. With the price and the type of restaurant I suggest they move that station away from the seating. I'd like to give 4 stars for the food...maybe next time. I will be back to try more dishes but hopefully sit in a different location...away from that station

Yelp
Ate here three times already so I tried a large portion of their menu and everything is amazing! Some of my top favorites: potato croquettes, Mediterranean Sea bass, lobster risotto, seared yellowfin tuna, and the apple strudel. I'm sure I'll be back to try some more.... Note that appetizers are small in portion but entrees are pretty big (enough for 2 people if you ask me). Service is always exceptional and a great place for a family dinner.

Yelp
10 out of 10! Came here with friends for dinner and had an incredible experience from beginning to finish. From the friendly hostess, to our super nice and helpful server, to the delicious "trust the bartender" drinks she recommended (they don't have a cocktail menu, so we opted to share our taste preference with our server and then trusted the bartender), to the awesome cheese cart lady that walks around the restaurant helping you out together your own charcuterie plate...the service was on point, and even the food runners were great! My water cups never went empty. Food wise, we tried 5 dishes, and I would recommend them all: the chili appetizer, duck, bass, lobster risotto, and the bone-in pork chop special. The duck was so good, I'm already thinking of going back for more. Reservations highly recommend!

Yelp
Went for a birthday dinner recently, which almost got ruined by the terrible server we were assigned to. The other servers, bus boys and manager were working hard, except for our server, who was chatting with a particular table for a long time as well as with the staff. We ordered drinks but even after all of our appetizers had come out and were eaten, they did not arrive. The server did not check in with us during this time so we had to wait until he finished chatting and flag him down to check in on our drinks. He then said he will put in the order right away, meaning he did not even put in our drink order yet! Our plates kept on piling high of the finished appetizers and the manager had to bus them as our server did not come by at all. The birthday girl unfortunately also found hair in the croquettes which we quietly let the manager know after flagging him down as the server was no where to be found. The food otherwise was fantastic. We also had to flag the waiter for our check after waiting for a long time and then after getting the check, I had to walk the check myself to the front to pay where our server was busy chatting up the manager who was manning the reception. If it weren't for the amazing food (except the hair in the croquette) and other hard working staff, I'd have given Arbour a lower rating. If we do decide to come back, we will make sure we won't get seated in this server's section ever again.
