10 Top Hotel Bars in the World

"Perched on the 25th floor with sweeping views of Victoria Harbour, this eccentric izakaya-inspired bar is split into three distinct experiences — a Main Bar for signature and seasonal cocktails, a Champagne and Sake Bar that pairs oysters with bubbles or sake, and an Omakase Cocktail Bar where mixologists guide guests through a sensory, liquid omakase. Across all spaces the drinks, bites and service are crafted to a very high standard." - Laura Itzkowitz

"An all‑day cocktail and dining destination on the 25th floor with sweeping Victoria Harbour views and three distinct bar concepts inspired by Japanese izakayas: an ever‑changing main bar menu, an intimate four‑seat omakase cocktail counter crafting bespoke drinks, and a Champagne & Sake Bar that pairs bubbles with oysters—collectively making it one of Hong Kong’s most inventive bar experiences." - Tyler Zielinski

Aubrey is a high end Japanese Izakaya restaurant has been long been on my bucket list. It is located on the 25th floor of Mandarin Oriental hotel with good view of the central harbor front. Went for their Premium Izakaya menu (optional wine pairing). Food was amazing. The oyster, sushi platter, miso cod, etc. The highlight is definitely the A4 wagyu sando (wagyu beef sandwich). Never tasted any beef with “airy” texture. Not chewy, just literally melts in your mouth. Very curious on what technique they use. The mushroom fried rice is a bit weak on seasoning side - if I were to compare with traditional chinese fried rice. Also ordered a serving of charcoal chicken karaage. Tastes good as well. This restaurant definitely is on the pricy end 1000+ hkd but worth it - tasteful deco, caring staff with a very solid knowledge of the menu, and good view. Great venue for special occasions and celebrations. Reservation needed.

The wagyu sando was really nice. The sashimi, sushi set was totally not worth it (average preparation, freshness wasn’t there). The cocktails were creative, but the descriptions were a little too rich.

Service is as expected from MO. Got the sashimi set which is quite good but honestly feels tad overpriced, maybe choosing the three Bento is better! If you upgrade to the beef! But the Wagyu sando is to kill for! Very yummy and expensive piece! But defo a better environment, especially for quality lunch as table are well-placed, so it doesn't get too rowdy. Also came here for bar, I thought it was a bit loud but I had good things that you can have good environment to chat, maybe my table or bad luck! But they have a lot of drinks but pricy for sure!

The food was excellent at the Aubrey. Great taste, especially the snacks/starters were on point. Hamachi rolls and kerage chicken were the best. The mains were overall disappointing, the udon were a bit strange, slippery and eggy and milky. The pork however was super tasty and soft. We came while the best bar take over was on, and the drinks were a bot meh, being at the different bars, the drinks presented at the Aubrey were disappointing, mild not a good representation of the HK best bars. Finally, the sitting area was wonderful. Super chill, great interiors but freezing cold. Must also say that the cool interiors clash a bit with the izakaya idea. Was like being in an English gastro pub where served Japanese style pub food.

The Aubrey in Hong Kong, located in the Mandarin Oriental, is an absolute gem! The interior is stunning, with a chic and intimate ambiance that feels perfect for a romantic date or celebrating something special. I recently visited, and the service was impeccable—attentive without being overbearing. The drinks were fantastic, and I’d highly recommend trying their Negroni—it was perfectly balanced. The whole experience felt luxurious but still warm and inviting. If you’re looking for a classy spot for cocktails or a memorable evening out, The Aubrey is a must-visit. Can’t wait to go back!

Atmosphere, decoration, location, drinks, food all world class. Thoroughly recommend this spot. It has deservedly become a place to be seen on Friday nights too. Well done to the team behind this, in a notoriously competitive F&B environment

Overall experience. Great brunch and à la carte menu selections. Great food. Excellent dessert combo (thanks for offering portions for 4 of us when we’d only order brunch for 2 of us only: very generous and delicious). Service was pleasant and attentive.

Gorgeous interior design. The ambiance is chic and intimate, perfect for a romantic evening or a special celebration. Throughout our evening the service we received was top-notch. Food was very delicious, so flavourful and well prepared. Drinks were just as great. Couldn't be more satisfied with our dining experience here. Edit: A week later I decided to come back to try their lunch set menu. There were three options to choose from, and additional sides you could add to. Just like our dinner, our lunch was delicious and while we dined we received excellent service from the waitress. Their Crème brûlée was amazing, not too sweet which was perfect. Glad we came back.

Yelp
#10 on asia's 50 best bars?? stumbled upon it only because it was conveniently located at the mandarin oriental that I was staying at in hk! the japanese vibes will draw you in as will their proudly hanging accolades! a very welcoming team that seated me promptly, with much visually appealing distractions to digest as you are shown to your table or bar counter seats. a definite posh feel without feeling stuffy. your date will be impressed! ;) the victoria harbour view should also improve even more when unsightly construction cranes are withdrawn when whatever they are building completes. sophisticated snacks, with just that extra touch, that makes you want to linger and libate unabated. frequent tie ups with the likes of hennessy and also baccarat make it all the more special over and above their already spectacular classics and signatures. the potency of their cocktails evident as i can't help feeling flushed and tipsy at first sip! yet a balance well struck with creative craft pairing of quality ingredients! just like how you would drag yourself out of bed for the hotel's opulent buffet breakfast, i found myself back here every day of my dirty weekend! ;) no, they aren't #1 but yes, i'll be here again at this #10!!
