We were disappointed with our second visit to the Bee and the Biscuit. Our previous experience was unsatisfactory, and unfortunately, we encountered similar issues this time. Upon arrival, we anticipated a wait, considering our previous visit. Although greeted with a smile, we felt rushed when providing our information for the waitlist. The estimated wait time was an hour to an hour and a half, and given the cold and wet weather, waiting outside became even more challenging. The absence of lit fire pits forced people to huddle together due to the extreme windchill. Additionally, valet parking prevented us from waiting in our car. While blankets were eventually offered after an hour, we chose not to use them due to concerns about illness.
On a positive note, the bartender was friendly and amusing, and we enjoyed the hot cocoa, which we would highly recommend. After waiting for an hour and 10 minutes, we were called to be seated. However, we were directed to a table meant for three, despite being a party of four. It was impossible for our family to fit there, so we were asked to wait for another 30 minutes. In the meantime, a larger party was seated before us, despite not waiting as long. It's unclear if they had prior reservations or special arrangements, which understandably caused some agitation.
Finally, we were seated, and although our waitress was friendly, she seemed busy and rushed. After patiently waiting for almost two hours, feeling rushed was disappointing. The food arrived promptly, but it didn't exceed our expectations or justify the lengthy wait, reaffirming our initial impression of the establishment. Our youngest family member didn't enjoy her meal, while the rest of us found it satisfactory. Personally, I didn't care for the biscuit, as it tasted stale, but the gravy was delicious. Overall, I would rate the food 4 out of 5 stars, the wait/waiting area 0 out of 5 stars, the price 3.5 out of 5 stars, and the staff 4.5 out of 5 stars, resulting in an overall rating of 3 out of 5 stars.
