Vegan gastropub with 40 craft taps serving hearty plant-based dishes in farmhouse-inspired digs.
"Every single one of the desserts at the vegan gastropub is simply delightful. Chef Amanda Levy deftly created tantalizing concoctions that I couldn’t tell were vegan at all. The pecan porter chocolate cake slice was so wonderfully rich; the pistachio rose semolina cake was perfectly moist with hints of floral nutty notes; the key lime semifreddo was so coldly creamy." - Eater Staff
"Up in Tarrytown, the vegan gastropub is open until 9 p.m. To-go orders can be placed online. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Polly Anna Rocha, Darcie Duttweiler
"The Tarrytown vegan gastropub focuses on beers and pub food like Buffalo cauliflower wings, mushroom burgers, and heart of palms-based “crab” cakes. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury, Erin Russell
"Bridging the gap between food trailers and fine dining, The Beer Plant is a medium-fancy gastropub with craft beer, cocktails, and upscale bar food, all with a vegan twist. That means you’ll find the requisite burgers, loaded fries, and “wings,” but made with beet-and-mushroom patties, cashew cheese, and cauliflower, respectively. It’s located in a pretty nondescript Tarrytown strip mall next to almost no other restaurants or bars, but once you step through the front doors, it’s cozy and intimate, with about 40 taps serving local beers and ciders to pair with your meal. "Bridging the gap between food trailers and fine dining, The Beer Plant is a mid-range gastropub in a nondescript Tarrytown strip mall with craft beer, cocktails, and upscale bar food with a vegan twist. That means you’ll find the requisite burgers, loaded fries, and “wings,” but made with beet-and-mushroom patties, cashew cheese, and cauliflower, respectively. The cauliflower wings arrive the size of baseballs and are breaded a little too heavily to become your new favorite (MLB enthusiasts excluded). But they make an otherwise solid start to the meal and pair well with the roughly 40 draft beers and ciders on the wall. On the menu, expect to find a pretty classic eggplant parm, grilled mushrooms in various shapes and sizes, a couple of burgers, and even a portobello wellington with walnut pate and puff pastry. It might not be a one-for-one substitute, but it’s an interesting twist on a classic. photo credit: Richard Casteel photo credit: Richard Casteel photo credit: Richard Casteel photo credit: Richard Casteel photo credit: Richard Casteel" - Nicolai McCrary
