The Best Happy Hours In Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"The big patio at Big Ketch is shaded and has TVs, so it’s easy to tune out the cars whizzing past on Roswell Road. And that’s our preferred place to be at this uber-casual seafood joint when it’s time to run up a tab filled with $2 oysters, $10 crab claws, and a $5 rotating cocktail." - juli horsford

The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill Review - Buckhead - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"When we’re longing for carefree vacation vibes, we turn to this casual seafood joint that seems like it was plucked from the touristy coast of Hilton Head and accidentally placed in Buckhead. Rustic, nautical-themed decor adorns the walls, making the place feel like a spot that beach-going families from a landlocked state would adore. For us, the sizable outdoor patio is the main draw, and we could easily spend a balmy afternoon here sipping frosés and dunking tasty blackened grouper into tartar sauce. And the scallops that cut like butter are enough to warrant a return visit. But the sides could use some work, particularly the cement-like grits that even the server warns you to avoid. Also avoid their  $34 lobster roll in a hot dog bun, which was tough and flavorless. photo credit: Cameren Rogers photo credit: Cameren Rogers photo credit: Cameren Rogers" - Juli Horsford

This is a great little spot to take a date or your family. The food was good, and they have small to large party dinning both indoors and outside on the patio. I only gave 4 stars for the food, but I definitely think it was what I ordered. I don't think it was bad, but I took a recommendation that I don't think was for me. I will definitely go back and try something different next time.

Our server, Shereena was an array of sunshine, poised, eager to offer menu suggestions… and overall the epitome of why dining at Big Ketch Saltwater Grill Buckhead must be added to your restaurant bucket list. This neighborhood staple won’t disappoint. Great date night spot and also has patio dining.

I ordered in for Mother’s Day and was truly disappointed at the portion sizes at this restaurant. I ordered the blackened shrimp smoked Caesar salad and a fried shrimp wedge salad. The salad alone was about $15. It was an additional $10 to add the shrimp. When I received the order, I learned that the shrimp add-on included only 3 shrimp. 3 shrimp for $10 lol? I know we’re in a recession but my lord. And it was SO MUCH SALAD in comparison to the side shrimp portion. You’re better off getting the side Caesar with shrimp for that matter. I also ordered the shrimp & crab dip for my neice which she seemed to enjoy, and the seafood basket for myself and that was just okay. The hush puppies and fries were well seasoned and yummy. Great aioli for dipping sauce, but nothing worth writing home about. Honestly, no different in flavor and quality than battered cod and fish sticks from the freezer section.

We enjoyed all of our food. We were in the area and decided to stop in for an early dinner. The space is pretty big and they are in a shopping center with lots of parking. The outside has a few photo opportunities that you can take advantage of too. You’re greeted as soon as you step in and seated almost immediately. We were definitely seated immediately. Our booth had a step up, so we were sitting above some of the other seats, but we thought it was cool. We just had to remember there was a step down when we were leaving. I enjoyed everything I ate here. I really liked the oysters and calamari, but everything tasted amazing. Everything was the right temperature and very flavorful. I even ordered a drink and it tasted good as well. Look over the menu before you go so you’ll have an idea of what you want. When you arrive you might be overwhelmed with the amazing options and choices. The service was really good here too. Be prepared to leave full and satisfied with your meal and with what you have paid.

Visited for lunch. Lobster Roll was good. Especially loved the brussel sprouts. Attentive, friendly service from our waiter, Ryan. Plenty of parking. Indoor and outdoor seating.

The food was so delicious. Lobster crab bisque was excellent. The Brussel sprouts were so tasty along with the salad. Ahi tacos were good. Shrimp tacos were better. The kale slaw was so good. Great service and drinks

We really enjoyed our first visit here. The happy hour specials are great! We had many items from the happy hour menu and we were extremely satisfied with the *raw oysters, *char grilled oysters, and the crispy shrimp were bussin'!!!. (Didn't care as much for the grouper sliders, cause of the slaw ..a lil bland but fish was hot n crispy!)The service was attentive and friendly and the outside screened in patio is an awesome setting. My bae was so impressed with the chargrilled oysters which surprised me since he loves the raw ones! When we have a oyster craving we will be back...$1 per oysters was great and the $5 "boat drink" which was a margarita on the rocks was just ok ..could a have more alcohol but decent. We are marking this a cool hang out with good service🥰👍🏽

Yelp
This place has been on my list for a while. We came for happy which was actually a really good deal. They had multiple options including oysters , wine and a drink of the day. Oysters are usually what draws me into a happy hour especially being that I'm on the hunt for the best in the city. Unfortunately these weren't it. We got the charbroiled and most of them were cold and still tasted raw. Maybe it was an off day but I personally would skip them all together. Besides the temperature the flavor just want there. We had better lunch with the entrees. The salmon blt was great. I did ask for the salmon blackened only because I read it could be bland. The chicken was good but lacked flavor. The Brussels and broccolini were both cooked to perfection. I would have gotten another side because my fries were could but I would imagine if they were warm they would have been good! I loved the patio! It almost gave me a beach feel. If it's a nice day sit out there! Our server was great! I wish I could remember her name she was dressed as Winnie the Pooh (it was Halloween) lol. Try this out if you're in the area!

Yelp
Overall rating: 4.5 I came here as I was visiting my friend who lives in Atlanta. Great happy hour prices, good food. The cocktails were really good and the bartender was very nice. No complaints.

Yelp
My wife and I visited after a day at the Atlanta History Center. It's amazingly close to that location, so if you're taking in the sites at AHC, keep it in mind. Ample and convenient parking. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean restaurant. I had the Rainbow trout with Brussel Sprouts and Broccolini. It was delicious. My wife had the chicken. Sadly, not as good as she had hoped. She reported hers was tough and the knife provided was a butter knife. She did say her salad was delicious. Four stars. Stick to the seafood. Keep chicken out of seafood restaurants.

Yelp
I order uber eats from this place often. My favorites are the lobster roll, the lobster bisque, broccoli, and the salmon blt!! The food here is soooo good! The salmon blt is perfect and I love the dill sauce that comes on it. The lobster roll comes packaged individually so it's not soggy upon arrival. I've never missing items. This is my favorite Friday night treat.

Yelp
Came in for the Buckhead restaurant week and must say it worked! I will be coming back! There is an outdoor area with fans, a bar and a small dining area. The staff are very prompt and friendly! I enjoyed everything! I had the delicious lobster big that had crab meat sitting on top as the garnish, the Baja grilled shrimp tacos and Brussels sprouts. Lots of food but it came as part of the special. I also enjoyed a blueberry cider that was very tasty as well.

Yelp
So this is a personal favorite of mine so maybe I'm biased lol but I always have good food and an experience when I come. I tried the grouper sliders for the first time but I always get the oysters during happy hour. One of the best deals in my opinion on oysters I've come by in a while. I usually get them raw but I tried a few grilled ones this time and they were so good. The sliders were super tasty too. Coral was my server. She checked on me often and made sure I had everything I needed and more. I also got a complimentary dessert for my birthday. The restaurant itself gives a small bar off the shore vibes. If you love oysters and a good deal on them, this is the place to go.

Yelp
The oysters is my why! The food is delicious but the oysters is the star! As a fan of seafood I enjoy fresh, quality, fish, oysters, shrimp, lobster and more! I enjoy the $6 deal and the chargrilled oysters are tasty too! The lobster roll is ok but in picky when it comes to lobster rolls! This place is a great place for a nice peaceful meal or quick bite !

Yelp
Why would a seafood place that has great clam chowder take it off the menu?? I came here for clam chowder, and was very disappointed. They had taken it off the menu! I settled for this Gulf Shrimp, fried and substitute the mango sauce. It was tasty. But nothing special for $28. I think the reason why I didn't is because my server Yulia. had at least six tables assigned to her. If it wasn't for the great maître D, Andrew, I probably would not have gotten cream because they don't have cream for the coffee service. I also hesitated, whether or not to order the lobster bisque because I couldn't tell how much cream was in it.. I did not want it to be too rich! He offered to let me try a little sample. Which is something my server should've offered me, but she was too busy. Again, I still believe the reason why she could not be more attentive is because she was spread thin!. the four stars was given because of Andrew, making my diving experience. Most pleasurable!

Yelp
The location is nice and the parking is free. Already starting off on the right foot. Walking in, we were greeted warmly by staff and seated promptly (had an open table rsvp). The ambiance is casual and you can definitely accommodate a large group for a meal or celebration. We sat at the booth and they had a children's menu for our son. We opted to order all meals from main menu but it was nice to have options for our kid. Oysters on the half shell are fab. Wish I could've came on a weekday during happy hour when they are only $1! Alas I ordered and enjoyed them anyway. Fish and chips were on point. Fish is fresh, the batter is just the right amount of crisp; our four year old loved it. I enjoyed the Chilean sea bass special and my husband enjoyed their shrimp crab cakes. Great place for a seafood dinner in Atlanta. Loved our experience and the food.

Yelp
Stop by here for a quick lunch... Ordered the salmon BLT, with an order of side rice.. Good quick meal, very good and fresh cooked to order.. Service was good, it wasn't crowded at all during the lunch time so it's a good spot for lunch as well.

Yelp
The feeling of the beach or Key West in the heart of Atlanta! As a Florida gal born and bred, I love myself some seafood. So when I came across The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill when I moved to the A and was on the hunt for some oysters via Yelp, I felt like I was going to be in for a treat. Oh boy, was I correct. Set in Buckhead, The Big Ketch is located in an unassuming plaza, with classy indoor seating reminiscent of a Miami seafood bar and outdoor seating with all of the patio umbrellas you would need to shield yourself from the sun but still enjoy the beautiful weather. Although there's no waterfront seating, the patio is a great place to enjoy the breeze as you take in a delicious meal with the sights and sounds of the city all around you. (I always opt to sit outside!) From lobster to grouper to oysters, they really have it all. I prefer to come for lunch and enjoy the sunshine, but Happy Hour is the real treat. With $1 oysters, taco and small bites options for a great deal, idk how anyone could not leave HH happy as hell. The oysters, Crab and Lobster Bisque, fresh crushpuppies and wedge salad are my absolute favorite items to order on the regular, and I feel like each bite I take reminds me of why I'm so consistent about my regular bites. Each dish always tastes so fresh, filled with yummy seafood and decadent ingredients - the kitchen team blesses me on each visit. And don't forget your drink! I often go for a glass of wine because the wine list is so extensive and exciting, but the Buckhead Betty cocktail is sooo good. It's been too easy to fall into the trap of indulging myself a bitttt too much once I realize I'm 2 dozen oysters in and a few glasses down, lol. The Big Ketch does a great job of transporting you to the beach one bite at a time.

Yelp
Cool find in Hot-Lanta. I had a nice outdoor table with cool fans and shade so I was happy. Great attentive waitress too. She even brought me a new napkin when the wind blew it off my lap. I didn't realize it. Had an amazing grouper sandwich with the remoulade sauce on the side but I ended up eating it all. Delicious! Nice size sandwich on fresh brioche bun with a little butter on it. Nice. I asked for well done fries and guess what...they were delicious and finished exactly as ordered. Nice touch! I enjoyed the shrimp appetizer but felt it needed a bit of salt to finish them, which I did. Lastly, I did decide to have the Key Lime pie slice. I love this normally but I'd rate it a B- Still good but needed more tartness to make it a great one. Beautiful slice and great presentation. Homemade for sure. Overall, a solid Buckhead restaurant choice. I'd for sure go back. Enjoy!

I love eating at this restaurant. Excellent service great environment outdoor seating is comfortable. The food there is 100% reliable every time. Healthy eating options. Include Mediterranean bowl with black and chicken among other things. Fish tacos are electric!

Yelp
We stopped in on a Saturday evening for a quick dinner, party of 2. We were quickly seated in the patio, which was slightly drafty but not really cold (late November). Our server was excellent. Very attentive and made wonderful recommendations. The ambiance was nice, there were TVs on the patio showing sports but no volume so the noise level was perfect for conversation. The lobster roll was as good as any you can find in Atlanta so I love having this option when I crave them.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with my husband. The bartender was super friendly and the food was good. We started with the Shrimp and Crab Dip and a cup of the Crab and Lobster Bisque. Both were good (not amazing). For our entrée we both had the Hot Buttered Lobster Roll and my side was the Broccolini. Now that was yummy! My broccolini was cooked perfectly and lobster bun was soft and delicious. Will definitely come back when I am craving a lobster roll when I'm not in Boston.

Yelp
My sister came upon this restaurant by accident. We originally planning to go to a different one but it was busy so we went to Big Ketch instead and oh boy ain't we glad. This place is small and cozy; our first time there it was Ryan who served us and he was amazing. He didn't talk much but he gave us what we needed. He explained the menu(it's not much but that's all they needed), get our drinks and orders. Ryan was so attentive that my sister and I felt his cared but he didn't bother or talked to us. We loved the place so much that we came back 3 days later with our coworkers and this time it was Kevin who served us. Kevin was awesome as well; he and Ryan has two different serving styles but we loved him as well. The one complaints I have is the one female server that has long hair(she's caucasian). Not sure if it was her first time serving when we were there the third time; in the same week. She was so bad that we felt that the gentleman in the front was the one serving us. She has no clues when it comes to customer service; we have to consistently asking her for items that was supposed to be given out to us already. We've never tipped anyone under 20% but she was the first. Now the food!! like I mentioned their option is to big but it's powerful compared to surrounding restaurant. We always get the oysters both raw and chargrilled, bisque, crab cake, lobster roll, calamari, crab claws, rainbow trouts and their salmon are some of the stuff we always get. For their sides, the corn is superb, French fries never failed us, broccolini is here and there and the Brussel sprouts hit the spot every time. One thing that's never consistent is their charred oyster; many times we go there it was so so good and there's times where it's burnt burnt to the point we had to return it to the kitchen and we NEVER sent stuff back. This place is Buckhead hidden charms and we loved recommend this restaurant to our friends and colleagues because they all agreed that it's a nice restaurant. Until next time!!! Peace

Yelp
Met my sister and cousin here for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised. I've passed by this location many times and never knew what was inside. Grace our server was attentive and very helpful. I arrived late and she held my order for perfect delivery timing. Ambiance: The outside is misleading, you'd think it was a pub. Once you walk in it's warmly lit, comfortable seating and a friendly atmosphere Cocktail [9/10]: Basil - Packed the perfect punch and there was no issue for them to sub with my fav liquor instead of vodka Appetizer [11/10]: Crushpuppies - wow! The description doesn't do it justice. It's a mini crab cake in a ball, just get it. Entree [10/10]: Lobster Roll - Fresh, Tender, perfect amount of "meat" for the price tag. The fries was piping hot & the Brussels were perfectly crisp. This is def being added to the seafood rotation!

Yelp
Happened to go on Memorial Day and lucky for us it was $1 oysters! The oysters were fresh and well cleaned. Drinks were refreshing. The ahi tuna app was on point! Definitely recommend it. Grilled grouper finished it out-grits were good and the fish was cooked nicely. We sat outside-nothing amazing but it was perfect for the cool evening. Will most certainly go back again soon.

Yelp
Food was great, especially the oysters. Drink was meh. Sat outside and the vibe was nice. Service was good. Overall enjoyed my time and would go again.

Yelp
Food was good. It was easy to get into and not crowded on a Saturday night which was a plus, but we waited a bit to be serviced once we were sat. The waiter realized and later in our meal offers a dessert for our original wait. We appreciated that. Good was good and I would visit again.

Yelp
Eating seafood on Friday is a tradition, so being new to Atlanta required some research on where my husband and I could go for a decent selection of fresh fish. First, it was great to have a place to park near the door. The lot had plenty of space and we were seated quickly after arrival. We chose indoor seating because it was a bit too hot to eat outside (will try that in a few months). Server showed up quickly, as did our food. The menu is not huge but there's enough variety to find something to like. We started with the crab cake and it was so fresh I could have had another. The remoulade dipping sauce is very tasty. I ordered the trout which was pan fried and came out with a crisp coating. Sides were broccolini and rice which were both delicious. Husband ordered blackened shrimp and grits, with side of kale slaw. If you are looking for a casual no frills spot in Buckhead, I would say The Big Ketch is definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
I used to frequent Big Ketch about once a month 3-4 years ago. It was one of my favorite places for a lobster roll. I'd get a lobster roll, their lobster bisque, and a sweet tea. I moved away for 2 years and just moved back so I wanted to visit. The food was subpar this time. I used to have excellent experiences but this wasn't one of them. I wouldn't recommend the charbroiled oysters nor the brussles sprouts. Jovan needs to be developed. He lacked pleasure to even be there. He didn't provide good customer service, check on me, fill up my empty water glass, give napkins or anything. I was sitting there after I had finished eating for 20 minutes before I asked another server to check me out. They were able to inform me that I can pay online using a QR code on my table. It's a small thing on the table so I wouldn't have figured that out alone and Javon definitely wasn't about to tell me. I was a bit disappointed that the crab/lobster bisque was out of stock but he tried to ease my pain by telling me it wasn't good that day anyway. :-\ I also had to ask him for the rest of my meal as it wasn't delivered all together and 15 minutes passed so I asked for my additional side and he had to ask me what I ordered. I have to go back once to hopefully get an experience like back in 2021.

Yelp
Personally I think the service and the ambiance was great. I just personally wasn't impressed by the food items on the menu. I got the lobster roll and Brussels sprouts and they were decent. Not anything I would crave though. The shrimp and crab dip had a slight kick to it, but I think that it was probably my least favorite item only because of my dislike of the actual taste. Personally I probably wouldn't return, not because I had a bad experience or anything.. I just wasn't really impressed by the food. But on a positive note they have a free parking lot in the front of the building which is a plus.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the place. Seating inside and out. We sat at the bar. Lots of wood. Enjoyed oysters, lobster roll, wedge salad and seared scallops. Some wine and tequila to round it out. Enjoyed conversing with the bartender. It was a great lunch in nice area of town. No fancy views but good food if looking for seafood.

Yelp
This was my first time going to the big catch, and I have to say it did not disappoint. Me and a friend came here for lunch and upon entering the restaurant the first thing I saw, was the specials and happy hour, so I was happy about that. Second I had my dog with me because she had just got groomed and I was still happily seated which made me love this place even more. To the right, was a very quaint Dining room and to the left was outdoor enclosed seating which is where we sat. It was really nice and spacious. The waitress came right away we place our order for cocktails my dinner companion got the passion Paloma and I got the Buckhead Betty both were made great not overly sweet, not too strong. I also hesitantly asked for water for my dog and was told they have dog bowl, so I was happy about that. I immediately knew I wanted the hot fish bites and the crushpuppies for an appetizer. Both were the perfect size for sharing and tasted absolutely delicious to my slight disappointment the buffalo fish bites were not hot in the least at least to me, was looking for a little zing. But, the blue cheese complemented it very well, and the dipping sauce that came with the puppies, tasted like maple syrup to me, so I opted not to use it. For our lunch entrées my friend got the fried grouper sandwich and I got the salmon BLT. In my opinion, both could use a bit more seasoning to bring out the taste of the fish. Don't get me wrong it was OK but not all that in the flavor category but all in all we had a great waitress food was pretty good. Drinks were nice I'd definitely go back again.

Yelp
This was a great restaurant if you are looking for seafood. I'm always weary about eating fish when I'm far from the coast, but the food tasted fresh and we loved the appetizer selection.

Yelp
I ordered Hot buttered Lobster Roll with Fries and lemonade Everyone is friendly and price is good

Carsten X.

Yelp
Went for happy hour and couldn't imagine paying non-happy hour prices for anything. $1 oysters always grab my attention, but these weren't worth it. Some appeared to have been shucked by a lawnmower and half didn't taste close to fresh. No mignonette was provided, and who eats oysters with bargain basement salted crackers? Ordered the $8 fried (frozen) shrimp that had zero flavor, which was coupled with a McDonald's-esque spicy mango sauce. The $5 cocktail was a Blue Hawaiian described as "blue curaçao and rum" and was curiously missing from the main cocktail menu. The happier hours I usually visit tend to discount a small number of cocktails on the menu, as opposed to making a different, cost-effective drink. Tried a few wines and was disappointed. The space itself was very dated. Think Applebees in the suburbs. If you're used to that or a Holiday Inn bar, you might like this place, but better happy hour places aren't difficult to find, especially in Buckhead. The server was very kind and apologetic, and I appreciated that greatly.

Yelp
My daughter and I decided to try something different before heading home. With a quick Yelp search, The Big Ketch was suggested. Believe it or not, I didn't read a single review before going inside. I figured as long as they serve a dish that we may enjoy, I could judge for myself. We visited on a Saturday around 3:30 pm and were seated immediately. Grace, who seated us and was our server, was the best. She was very attentive and checked on us often. Now on to the food and drinks. The sangria tasted like soda. I should've probably stuck with my ol' faithful which is wine. For starters, we tried the Crushpuppies as an appetizer which were a 2 on a scale of 1-5 on a numerical scale. That's until I used the dipping sauce it was served with. The sauce changed the taste of the crushpuppy altogether. With the sauce I'll rate them 3.5ish. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was delicious! Usually restaurants are stingy with the shrimp, but not TBK! The portion size was just enough. No leftovers. I ate everything on my plate except the tomatoes. I sampled the tuna tacos and they were okay. You'll have to be the judge of those. Overall, I enjoyed our visit today and I would love to return on a nice evening to sit on the patio and enjoy a few cocktails & wine. I would like to suggest laminating the menu or going touchless as several restaurants have implemented this practice. The menu wasn't clean & crisp and which took away from this experience.

Yelp
First time here, Lobster roll was extremely small for the price and a quarter was completely empty with no lobster in it at all.. just the roll. The "crab and lobster" bisque had no crab or lobster in it at all. It came out cold and thick like a verrrry strange consistency and color. Hush puppies were ok. Boyfriend got the shrimp tacos he says 5/10 on those. Rice pilaf had no flavor and the fries were ok. I don't think we will be back unfortunately.. and I really wanted to try the grouper! Oh well. Service was great and nice little ambiance on the patio area. But the food needs work.

Yelp
First time visiting here and while it started out great, it did not end that way. The appetizer were good. We were impressed with the buffalo fish bites- surprisingly delicious. The crabmeat hush puppies were also delicious. The downfall came with our main entree. I ordered the hot butter lobster roll with teriyaki roasted Brussel sprouts (these were good too) and my lobster was over cooked and dry. Being pressed for time, I didn't bother asking them to remake it though I should have. My friend ordered the grouper sandwich and there was so much cole slaw on it she could barely find the fish. Mostly bread as slaw with minimal grouper. We quickly decided that we didn't feel the need to return to give it another try. Parking is free as they are located inside a plaza.

Yelp
I order the lobster and crab bisque with the Salmon BLT, both were very good. Customer service was great!

Yelp
Had a great lunch here. We started with the shrimp and crab dip, it was great. Next we each had the hot lobster roll. It was perfect. Lobster drizzled with drawn butter on a hot, toasted but soft bun. It was all great and a friendly bartender. Can't wait to come back for my next lobster roll craving or to try something new.

Yelp
I sometimes forget to review places after I visit them and this place is one of them. I was feeling some seafood one particular afternoon so I decided to go eat at The Big Ketch. The Big Ketch used to have a location in Roswell, but it was believed to be bought out by some other place. I was sat down very swiftly and decided to order oysters which happened to be half off that day. I also ordered the fish and chips for my entree. It did not disappoint along with the oysters. My table was constantly being checked on by our server and I believe I don't have anything else to say. The Big Ketch does not disappoint!

Yelp
For the starters I love the crispy egg rolls and the buffalo fish bites! Surprisingly I love the buffalo bites with the blue cheese although I dislike blue cheese. Entrees I enjoy the Baja Shrimp Tacos absolutely favorite thing and lobster butter roll. The atmosphere fits the name, and the service is always good. If anything is wrong they'll fix it and the waiters check in to ensure everything is going well.

Yelp
Immediately yes. Perfect place to go to after a Sunday Afternoon hike. The patio was peaceful. It is quiet Staff was friendly! Facilities were clean. Drinks were delicious Food was delicious & well seasoned! Restaurant has beautiful decor. Full bar Great for parties of 1-6. More seating for groups of 2-4 than larger parties. Would definitely recommend and return. Especially for the lobster bisque and salad

Yelp
Very cute place and the food was pretty good, too! My boyfriend loved the fish dip and my salad was fresh and flavorful. The waitstaff was pleasant. Sit outside if you can, as their patio area has nice comfy, spacious booths!

Yelp
Service was outstanding and stole the show! We received well detailed explanations of item menus and great recommendations. Food definitely have the vibe of catching food on the boardwalk of a beach. I enjoyed the $ oysters and the Baja fish tacos. They fit the saltwater theme and were very tasty. I do recommend more sauce options for the tacos and oysters. That would be a great touch

Yelp
Very nice spot. Low key environment with good seafood (and I'm from a coastal town). Easy to park. Good range of menu items. Just a tad disappoi tad in the crab soup. But solid option. Have been a few times.

Yelp
First, parking was a breeze, so appreciated! Thus was an early dinner for my senior women's group. I had been telling everyone I was tired of winter and needed the beach. The Big Ketch did not disappoint! As soon as I walked in, I was ready to kick my shoes off and head to the bar. Of course, it was happy hour and drinks were $5. I had a lovely pineapple fruit drink which was delicious (I had 2)! We started with some fresh oysters - a little small but hey they were $1!!! Two ladies had the crab and corn chowder which was tasty. I had the fish & chips and one person had the shrimp & grits- very good. Some had fried shrimp and had plenty to take home. Of course we shared a key lime pie and all enjoyed it. I had my beach day and ready to face the rest of the winter. It's great to know I can get that beach feel without the 5 hour drive to Destin. Thanks Big Ketch

Yelp
My wife and dined here for Lunch on Sunday. We are not brunch people so it's refreshing when you can have a good lunch on Sunday in Atlanta that is not Brunch. We were seated promptly on the outdoor patio. Has a beach feel for sure, unfortunately there is no beach, just Roswell Road. Anyhow, the outside is very pleasant with good music. Fresh Oysters to start were fresh and cold. Green goddess salad was very tasty. Blackened grouper was perfect, great flavor, My wife's Thai Quinoa bowl was very flavorful. We will be back for sure.

Yelp
Big Ketch is a seafood restaurant located in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. My fiancé and I visited on a Monday night after she found photos of the restaurant's dishes on Instagram. We made a reservation through OpenTable and were seated immediately upon arrival. We ordered the Shrimp & Crab Dip, Calamari, and yeh Lobster Roll. Shrimp & Crab Dip: The dip was ok. There was nothing extremely memorable about it. It was slightly bland, it had about three pieces of random shrimp in it with some small pieces of crab. The pita chips were a nice accompaniment. A softer or fresher chip could have taken this dish up a few notches. Calamari: The calamari was fried entirely too hard. It wasn't fresh and tasted frozen. My fiancé ordered it as her meal and she didn't even finish it because she was completely dissatisfied with its taste and freshness. Lobster Roll: Saved the best for last! The lobster takes the cake. It's easily the very thing that gives this place three stars. The lobster was warm and fresh. The brioche bread was a bit hard and on the toastier side, which was quite surprising. It did not, however, affect the overall deliciousness of the lobster. - I ordered the kale slaw as a side. It's a citrus base slaw similar to coleslaw. Perhaps it was just my allotment, but there was a lot of cabbage and other veggies, and very little kale, which was the reason why I ordered the side. ------- The service was decent. Our waitress provided some insight on what to order and helped us navigate some of their cocktail offerings. Neither of the two waitresses that I saw were wearing masks during our visit. Our two cocktails plus the dip, lobster roll, and calamari totaled about $93. Outside of the lobster roll, it wasn't really worth the money. Instagram pics can be quite misleading.

Yelp
So we got a birthday entrée coupon and ended up coming here. I didn't even know this place existed but I'm always down to try new seafood. It was pretty empty on a Sunday around dinner time when we arrived. We started with the Passion Paloma which was ok and very strong. Nothing to rave about but it was still good. The Mediterranean Basil Quinoa Bowl was pretty good for what it was. As for the Salmon, the Salmon itself was good and the Brussel Sprouts were AMAZING. The Caribbean Rice Pilaf on the other hand was rather average and some pieces of the rice were burnt. 4 stars is a solid rating for this spot.

Yelp
I really had high hopes but that all fell flat. We came here on Labor Day for dinner and there wasn't a wait. This isn't a huge establishment but was comfortable. In addition to the normal dining area , there's also a bar and outdoor seating available. Once we were seated inside , we placed our drink order and proceeded to order the calamari appetizer. The calamari was fried nicely but we had more fried peppers versus actual calamari! My friend and I were turned off by this and disappointed. We both ordered fish and chips as our entrees. I am a huge fish & chips fan so I love trying this dish whenever it's an option on the menu. Unfortunately, this dish lacked flavor and just did not hit the spot. The service was good but overall the food was just mediocre.
