The Best Long Beach Restaurants, According to Eater Editors | Eater LA

"Breakfast and brunch in Long Beach is a big deal, big enough that the Breakfast Bar opened a second location in Belmont Heights, in addition to its established one on Atlantic Boulevard. Both serve the filling breakfast poutine, a wonderful shrimp and cheesy grits with roasted pepper, omelets, pancakes, and burgers. On the morning drinks side, find bloody marys with a celery-salt rim, homemade lemonades, bubbly drinks like mimosas and a peach bellini, as well as a slate of signature cocktails and coffee drinks, the latter of which can be spiked for an additional cost." - Mona Holmes

The Breakfast Bar - Review - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Almeraz loves Breakfast Bar not only because she used to work there, but also for the restaurant’s owners, who have served as mentors. She feels that their cocktail program is great for breakfast, especially when paired with one of their signature Bloody Marys, such as “The Queen Mary.” “Josh Beadel is such a great bartender, and he puts a lot of passion into his craft,” she says. Josh and his wife Pamela also serve dishes like pork-belly skewers and shrimp bruschetta. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Google
This is one of my favorite spots for breakfast. Their lunch menu looks great too, but I can’t get past their breakfast options. The potato cake is so freakin’ good. And ask for the jam for your rosemary bread! The staff is super friendly and attentive. And I just love the atmosphere - good music and good vibes all around.

Google
The food was good, especially the eggs. I ordered French toast, eggs and bacon and it was tasty. The fruit was very fresh and delicious!! Our server was OK, although there were times he would argue with us about what we asked for despite knowing us knowing our individual preferences and how we order food. The food for our party came out at different times, with some people like me receiving food more than 15 minutes after other people who were in our party. The food was a bit pricey, especially for breakfast but maybe I'm not accustomed to California prices. But what was interesting is that the breakfast was more expensive than some of the lunch items. There was a bit of a wait for a table. We were initially told that it would be 30 minutes for our party of 11 but it took about 45 minutes. Other smaller parties of 2 and 3 also waited a while, likely because it was a holiday. When we asked another table for suggestions, we were warned that the chicken wasn't seasoned as well- which we later agreed with one someone in our party ordered the chicken tenders. Athough the buffalo sauce helped out with flavor. I never got to see the inside of the restaurant, so I'm not sure about the inside or what they offer or are suitable for. But I heard from several in our party and another close table that the lemon cakes were amazing!

Google
What a great breakfast spot! I travel in from Florida periodically and always make it a point to come here. The potato cakes are so good, as well as their made in-house jam.

Google
Was expecting better, wasn't terrible but wasn't the best. Order was a bit messed up (everyone makes mistakes) so no biggie, asked if they can re do it and they delivered. But by the time they corrected what was messed up, my other food got cold. But overall it was fine. Waiter was prompt and prices are to be expected. Would try another spot before coming here again. The breakfast burrito was banging tho

Google
Amazing lemon pancakes 🥞 I love lemon overall and this just took it over the top delicious! Must try if you are a lemon lover! Breakfast Burrito 🌯 looked delicious and my partner said it was and finished it!

Google
Worst breakfast experience. The staff was really nice but unfortunately my food was not. I ordered eggs Benedict, and as you can see from my photo, the eggs were really overcooked. They tried to remedy the situation and brought poached eggs that were still floating in water and expected me to fish them out! It was a hot mess. The sauce was pretty good, at least. My friend ordered the breakfast sandwich, which was waaaay better than what I ordered.

Google
Fantastic Breakfast Experience! I had an amazing meal at the breakfast bar. I ordered the meatloaf and eggs with sourdough bread and a fried potato cake—everything was hot, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The meatloaf was well-seasoned, the eggs cooked perfectly, and the potato cake was crispy and satisfying. To top it off, the service was excellent—our server was attentive and friendly, making the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
I took my mom to breakfast. On this day they happen to have their lemon flavored pancakes. I originally went for the French toast but that lemon pancake taste so good with the lemon flavored drizzle. OMG! It was like eating lemon pound cake. The flavor was so exact! My mom loved the fried potato cakes

Giselle E.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! Perfect spot for a laid-back weekend brunch with friends. The service was fast and friendly

Yelp
Stopped in at random as I passed by. Ordered a breakfast sandwich (Tbe Brekkie Sammie) which may be the best breakfast sarnie I have ever eaten. Super yummy rosemary bread with sausage, egg, tomato, and arugula. Came with a potato pancake that was equally delicious. Washed it down with an excellent Bloody Mary (these guys have a full bar!) and I'm ready to face the world with my attitude much improved. Server Ana was most pleasant and attentive. Cannot find anything negative to say about The Breakfast Bar! VERY highly recommend this establishment

Yelp
The food !? (Chefs kiss) My homegirl and I wanted to grab a bite to eat while we were in the area. I got a chicken wrap, without tomatoes... paired with fruit. She got a French toast breakfast with eggs and bacon. (She really liked the bacon) I also got a cucumber margarita and a Bloody Mary. The food was delicious, the vibes are chill and the service was amazing. I would 100% go back and try some items. If you're in the area, go! P.S. it appears there is a free parking lot and street parking .

Yelp
What drew me in was the eggs benedict and I enjoyed my choice. If you're like me, someone who enjoys the hollandaise sauce with a lemon/vinegar flavor, you'll be pleased. I had the shrimp bruchetta benedict and my friend had the eggs papi. I liked the flavor of the eggs papi more but the presentation made it seem like it was missing something. To drink, I had a hot chocolate. It was nothing memorable. The prices were a bit up there, but food tasted fresh. I really enjoyed the potato pancake they put on the side. The breakfast margarita cocktail was too sour for my liking. We had been aiming to order a "dad's lemon cake pancake" but our waiter seemed to forget about us. The service was not attentive. When being informed about the eggs papi, the waiter told us it was a choice between bacon and sausage links. We were surprised that the chorizo and ham weren't included, when the meal came out, since the menu implied that it was included and we werent told otherwise. We even observed the waitress charge a table the wrong receipt and tell them after they had been leaving already. Waiter kept implying that "they" messed up but she handed them and charged their card. After waiting for 20 minutes to get checked on. The water needed refilling, and our interest in the pancake diminished. I felt for the couple that had been seated next to us who werent interected with for 15 minutes. We asked for the check and the waiter wanted to just take our card to charge it. But we wanted to see the receipt to be sure that we were being charged appropriately. I liked the food and would be willing to try again, in case it was just a bad day. There is street parking available, but they also have parking in the back. You can also choose between patio or inside seating.

Yelp
I ordered off the kids menu and it was just the right amount of food without the leftovers to store in my hotel. They were very busy so you need a bit of patience but besides that everything was great! Outdoor seating was also very nice on a warm day, people that worked there were all very kind and friendly!

Yelp
Date of service: Memorial Day Service provided by: Layla, Felipe and Beto We walked up after a nice walk from our hotel. The service and the food was phenomenal! Wonderful price, wonderful staff, and their food options were delicious! Will definitely be back again when we come back for our next trip to Cali. Thanks for the hospitality and amazing

Yelp
Foooood aaahhhmazing. The breakfast burrito was so good. We added the hashbrowns inside the burritos. I got an Irish coffee. It was quite strong, but the whipped cream on top was a great touch. The waitress was very nice and had great customer service. They need air conditioning though. lol Still 5 stars

Yelp
LOVE this diner! Everyone is so friendly, and the food is delicious! I recommend adding one of their potato pancakes, too! Brett, the Manager, was amazing as was Vanessa, my server. It's located within walking distance and near the beach. Love the beachy diner ambiance of the restaurant (outside seating also available). When in town, come on in!!

Yelp
If you're in the Long Beach area, definitely check out the Breakfast Bar! I went here before my long travel home to GA and it was a perfect way to end my trip. This location was located in Downtown LB near a number of hotels so if you are visiting, then this a place you'll want to visit. Their hours are pretty limited as I saw that they are only open from 6am-2pm everyday so be mindful of that. My favorite food item was definitely the potato cake; it was the perfect flavor and texture! If you're an Eggs Benedict person like me, then the Shrimp Bruschetta Eggs Benedict is a must try! I like how they chopped up the shrimp, but not too finely where you can't taste it. It was such a nice blend with the other ingredients they used. It also came with a sauce that I recommend pouring on top of the bruschetta. I also really enjoyed the French Toast. It was cooked to perfection and the fruit on top was fresh. For parking, I noticed a lot attached to the restaurant, however, I'm unsure if you have to pay or if it's free (we ubered there). The inside of the restaurant is very cute! They have indoor and a patio seating options. Overall, great customer service and we enjoyed our experience!

Yelp
The place is super busy so expect a wait. Luckily we came in after the morning rush so we were seated right away. There are seats inside and outside. The food is delicious. A bit pricey but worth the money. I modified my burrito to eggs, bacon and tater tots and it was perfect. The place has tables and a space for people to sit in the counter. Waitstaff is awesome.

Yelp
Stopped by early Saturday morning without a reservation and had a short 10-minute wait. The service was great, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Our waitress was especially helpful she was patient and offered great recommendations while I decided what to order, which I really appreciated. The pancakes were cooked to perfection fluffy, golden, and delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about my meal. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
We sat outside and it was very nice on the patio. I had the eggs Noni and substituted some fruit for the potato pancake for an up charge and my son got the breakfast burrito. Everything was very good. Our food came out quick and hot and the service was good as well.

Really good. Loved everything about this place. Services was fast and friendly. Super cute area

Yelp
Let me start with a clarification, 4.5 stars! And I'll explain why In love with this breakfast spot. My friend took me here after running a morning 5k and we were greeted by the hostess right away. We ordered the chicken fried breakfast and eggs N-E-way. They were soooo delicious and perfect to satisfy our hunger. My country fried chicken breakfast was cooked perfectly; chicken was very juicy and tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, eggs sunny side was perfect, and the gravy was delicious! The environment was so nice, felt very cozy and inviting. We chose to sit inside because it was still cold for the patio. Loved the decor and especially the Long Beach skyline/panoramic photo on the wall. I'm taking off 0.5 stars because the service at the tableside wasn't up to my expectations. No water refill the whole time we were there, when asked for condiments for the fries, it seemed like he didn't want to get it, and when given the check, it felt rushed like they wanted us to leave quickly. Might be overthinking, but I did get those vibes. Anyways, I'd love to come back after another morning run

Yelp
This place came recommended by 4 people the moment I hit Long Beach and it is not a disappointment! Come alone or with company! If dining by yourself, enjoy the bar with Nina and Kelly. Everyone is friendly here and makes you feel a part of the community. Inside and outside dining. If you are hard pressed to decide, servers are happy to recommend. They have something for the sweet tooth or a protein hound like me. Marcee's Omelet Casserole was recommended to me. You can add something in the egg dish, but I would recommend leaving it be. Ask for avocado. Mine slices were perfectly ripened and sliced. Great serving of good fats in my diet. It comes with a little cup of freshly prepared pico de gallo that balances the richness of the eggs. Texturrific! Soft in the middle, brown on the top. Accompanying it is a perfectly breaded and fried potato cake. Isn't it cute? The fruit cup is generous with pristine freshly cut fruit! Nothing limp in here. This is a fun place to come, and I look forward to the Eggs Benedict.

Yelp
Everything about this breakfast place is exceptional!! I am in LOVE! My friend and I have decided that we are going to make our way through the entire menu...we are over achievers! I have only been here twice, and both times were amazing! Everyone is super cool! Jorge was our server both times, and both times he was also amazing!! He has such a great happy energy, and loves the menu items too, b/c when you order he lights up and shares his thoughts-he is about it! First time we had the breakfast burrito, and the Eggs Noni-delicious. Second time, we had the Love-Lee Chicken & Waffles, and Uncle Marcee's Omelet Casserole....OMG OMG OMG! Whatever is happening in that casserole is beautiful! While the food 100% stands on it's own, the sauces take the food to another delicious level! That syrup that you see on the back of the plate with the chicken and waffles, is no ordinary syrup....I was going to put my straw in it. And then there was Nana's gravy and this apple cinnamon cheese spread! I could barely concentrate!! :) There is street parking, and you can park next door at the hotel, but it gets busy quick!!

Yelp
I have passed this place for years almost 10 to be exact, so before I ended 2024 I stopped in to meet a friend for breakfast. From the outside it doesn't look big but when you walk inside bam this place is amber spacious!!! Greeted by a server we were seated and menus delivered, he asked what we would like to drink and coffee and orange juice more myself. So much on the menu so many choices but one did catch my eye, The Papa Joe with Pig Candy!! The waiter said that was a perfect choice the pig candy was a awesome upgrade!! In no time out came our orders since we both ordered the same thing not much to talk about the egg and bacon cooked in the center of a thick piece of Texas toast and the bacon aka Pig candy was delicious. All in all Good Service Good Food I will definitely be back!!!
google avatar

Kristine G.

Yelp
Very OK. Our waitress, Vanessa was very sweet and attentive. However, the food was not as good as we expected given the reviews. We ordered the grilled cheese with egg and the breakfast burrito as our mains. In addition, we got one pancake to share. All around, the meal lacked flavor and definitely could be improved. If you're a vegetarian/vegan, skip the soyrizo. The chai latte was pretty great though. It did start to rain and they had a lot of umbrellas outside to keep us covered which was a HUGE help.

Yelp
This was the worst breakfast I ever had. The price is overwhelmed too pricey for that ridiculous nasty food but I ever go back. Hell no they fool. Don't have no season. I went there for my nephew graduation and it was awful . The customer service was amazing. Very nice for many people. The place is small and it be crowded.

Yelp
I cannot stand how great the food is here, your taste buds with thank you. They nailed it here! Executive summary: Service: 5/5 Depth of menu: 5/5 Good for groups: 5/5 Drinks: 4/5 Parking: 3/5 Flavor: 5/5 If you are looking for a spot to grab some breakfast, I highly recommend this breakfast place near downtown Long Beach. Here's why. The service is alway friendly and attentive. This place has a hometown feel and vibe so you feel welcome as soon as you check in with the host. You just have to get here before the breakfast and lunch time rush. As for parking, you can park at the hotel parking lot adjacent to the restaurant, it is limited so be conscious of that. There are some tables outside, the tables on the inside has a hometown vibe and very welcoming. If you have group, this place can accommodate your group you will have to get here before the breakfast rush. I usually order the Papa Joe, the tater tots are crispy and made to order. If you are hungry this will satisfy your hunger. There are a good number of breakfast places near the downtown Long Beach area this is at the top of my hit list.

Yelp
Was my first time coming here A friend recommended this spot We were looking for a good spot to take the kids We were a party of seven We arrived at 11:30 put our names down. They told us it would be a 30 minute wait. We waited about 50 minutes After asking several times, they kept telling us that they were getting our table ready We had the kids, crying, hungry, and what upset us more was the fact that people that had arrived after us and put their names down after us went in before us. They were parties of the three, parties of four, parties of two. So finally, they called us and they put us on a table with not enough seating. They said that they were never told it was a party of seven that it was a party of six. Which was false and we had also told them if they weren't able to find a table big enough for us we were willing to sit at separate tables of 3 and 4. just as long as we could be seated as soon as possible because of the kids. The hostess that led us to our table, saw that we didn't fit and she wasn't really trying to find a solution for it so then the waiter came and we told him about the issue, but he got mad and frustrated with us and said that it's not his problem So finally, the hostess came back with more chairs and said she found a solution to squeeze us all in very tightly, there was barely any room to move the chairs We were pretty much glued to each other at that point and said we could fit at that point I asked to speak to a manager because I didn't like that, the hostess and the waiter, we're getting upset with each other about the situation and also getting upset with us. So after waiting a good five minutes, the manager finally comes. I told him about the situation and instead of being understanding or at least apologizing for the situation he's arguing back. I told him how we waited so long and he said OK and so is everyone else waiting. I told him that people who had arrived after us and checked in after us were let in first and he said he highly doubts that. With my cousin next to me, I again told him really because we clearly saw them walking in before us My cousin even told him the same and he said again think about it. Your party is much bigger and I said OK well looking at the situation of the seating that's very hazardous especially for three children that are with us. I told him about giving us separate tables and he argued back instead saying that we requested the tables to be near each other and I said that's fine if they are the kids are hungry. we just want to be seated. We have these kids that you guys are trying to squeeze into a six people table and barely any room to move around in case anyone needs to use the restroom or even feed their child. That would be very difficult to do So he's like OK then you wanna sit here pointing at a table right where we were standing and I said yes that's fine. He's like OK then sit there and then he walked away with a mad face. This was my first experience at this restaurant, and it was very upsetting to have the hostess and the waiter arguing about the seating situation that they put us in and basically making us figure it out and then once I try to address the concerns to the manager, he's arguing with me telling me he highly doubts that as if I'm lying about something, maybe he should ask his workers who could barely even hear over all that noise. They probably put it down wrong instead. About 20 minutes later, the table behind where we were originally supposed to be seated (our party had to sit at two separate tables because they didn't want to accommodate us with three children properly) A party of seven also arrived and they accommodated them making sure they had enough room making sure they had enough seating. Based on our experience at this restaurant, would we go back? No the manager does not know how to talk to his customers The workers I understand you're overwhelmed or stressed, but there's no need to take it out on your customers. Do I believe that this restaurant is a kid friendly restaurant? no because if they weren't willing to accommodate our party with a party of three children and trying to make us sit in a tiny little seating with our party So no I don't think they are kid friendly. It was a very terrible experience for us The food wasn't bad But the experience was horrible

Yelp
This placec needs to sell and locate a new owner(s) who will require their staff to treat ALL customers the same, w respect to who they are as individuals. I will never mention this place to LGBT friends or family EVER again. The disgusting treatment we received because of what I believe was due to what we are (actually what we are not) is despicable to say the least. Iwe are proud of how we treat equally. The lb lbgt community needs to look deep into their souls when condemning and treating others poorly that are different from them and to treat those that are different the exact same way that they demand to be treated. Our food was disgusting, our treatment was disrespectful and lying to us was disgraceful. This was our unfortunate experience.

Yelp
Do not skip this one! Everything was incredible. My group got the breakfast sandwhich, the poutine, the poblano grits, and the Benedict. We stuffed ourselves because everything was incredible. Next time I'm in Long Beach this is a must-stop.

Yelp
Stopped by The Breakfast Bar today for some brunch! We were seated right away on a Sunday morning at 10am. I ordered the chai latte to kick things off and it was delicious!! Amazing chai I ordered the chicken breakfast plate and absolutely devoured it. I loved the homemade biscuits and potato pancake. The biscuits melt in your mouth and the potato was cheesy and perfect. The chicken was crisped to perfection. I really enjoyed my meal. My boyfriend got the BB sliders and loved them. The gravy on both of our meals was to die for!! Overall we loved everything that we ate. They were quick to bring out a range of sauces when we asked and the service was great. Our food was brought out fairly quickly as well. Overall I highly recommend the breakfast bar for brunch!! Such good food and I loved the big portions.

Yelp
We love the ambience at this breakfast place. Staff is always great! It's a great place to sit and take your time enjoying your meal. The bar is beautiful and makes me feel fancy on a random Tuesday at 10am. We choose it every time.

Yelp
Wanted to try out this place for brunch! I ordered the waffle combo. Hands down, one of the best waffles I've had! I can't wait to go back to try their fall breakfast menu. They have a good amount of items in their breakfast menu. There's also outdoor seating as well. The servers are also hospitable and professional. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
We arrived around 12:30 pm, and it was pretty busy. The wait was only around 20-25 minutes. We were able to order drinks and wait outside. We got a Michelada and an espresso martini. The espresso martini is amazing! I had to get 2. We also got their cinnamon toast crunch shots, and they were soooo good! They had tables inside and outside. We sat at the bar, and the bartenders were so nice. You can tell that the 2 bartenders have really good chemistry working together. For food, we got the deviled eggs, the BLT, and the breakfast burrito. The deviled eggs came in 6 halves. The mustard was a little bit overpowering but overall good. The BLT and burrito were both super filling, and we couldn't finish them.

Beatriz S.

Yelp
We were seated immediately upon arrival, but in a dark corner despite more seating available near windows and lighting. The overall vibes gave old school diner. Nonetheless we were excited to try the food, the menu had many options that sounded so good! But the food was very average, the only thing that stood out to me was how crispy the chicken came out. I did not like the biscuit to chicken/gravy ratio. You only get one small biscuit cut in half. The French toast was really dry as well. There was always someone walking around besides our waitress offering refills. This location seemed to be a hit for local tourists as many people were coming in with luggage. I definitely recommend coming to try for yourself!

Yelp
The atmosphere is fun! We sat outside which my husband and I love and it was a really nice day! They have huge umbrellas that cover the tables so that was helpful! The staff were very friendly and were on top of refilling our drinks and making sure we were all set up. I ordered the breakie Sammie and it was good! There was a little too much aioli for my liking so next time I would order that on the side. Overall the dish had tons of flavor and was Very filling! I could've easily split it with someone. My husband ordered the friend chicken dish and he said it was really good! It came with an egg on top and a potato side. He also ordered the Irish coffee and he said it was so good and hit the spot! Their regular cup of coffee was perfect and I was not disappointed! We would definitely come back!

Yelp
The staff and environment were very nice. My group and I ordered our meals and it came out pretty quick considering it was busy. I typically don't order eggs because I'm very picky but the eggs tasted great along with the entire order itself. Overall will be returning and will advise others to come and enjoy as well!

Yelp
Parking is a bit of challenge, even with the hotel lot next door. Food: Good and came out lighting fast. Overall nothing special and the bacon was cooked to a shriveled wedge. Eggs on the other hand were cooked perfectly for us both: over medium and sunny side. French toast was fluffy, topped with fruit. Would order again! Service: Excellent! From the time we sat down to the time we left, excellent attention and menu recommendations. I would come here just for the service, if comparable food was available near by. Only drawback was on coffee refills, as at times the coffee was lukewarm. Overall: If in the area, would definitely be back!

Yelp
Visited the Breakfast Bar on a Wednesday afternoon. There is indoor and outdoor seating which are both clean and spread out. My server was attentive and friendly, in fact the whole staff was helpful and kind. I tried the Shrimp Bruschetta Benedict, the Breakie Sammie and the French Toast. The bruschetta Benedict was the most delicious dish I've had in a while, the flavors complimented each other well and the dish was perfectly portioned and not heavy. The potato pancake that accompanied the dish was light and flaky super soft on the inside! The breakie sammie was good, the only comment is that the bacon is very thick. Very filling. The French toast was also tasty! Light and airy served with warm syrup - chefs kiss! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a at home (elevated) breakfast experience.

Yelp
This place is terrible! I fully understand that places can be busy but they 1) didn't listen when we said we are on a tight schedule with tickets for the theatre and would like to order and pay 2) got my drink wrong 3) only gave us two glasses of water for four people 4) we still hadn't gotten our food after 35 mins, the children were getting upset 5) when I checked in the waitress brought us two dishes that were wrong 6) she then disappeared and didn't even apologize. We walked out. This place is awful!

Yelp
They open at 0600...so it nice to enjoy it quiet and empty ( they play oldies music!!!) Parking is behind at the hotel. Staff is nice. Doesn't have alot of decore everywhere. They have a bar if you want to sit there. The grits have poblano peppers in them, and they were creamy. The shrimp were seasoned perfectly. It is served with sourdough bread This place was recommended and they did not disappoint

Yelp
This place is the freshest food I've had in California!!! The location is a bit hidden behind a wooden fence so it was hard to find at first, but I found it! The service was very welcoming and informative. I ordered the Breakfast Sammie and it was a great treat!!! Everything and I mean everything was fresh! I would definitely be coming back!

Yelp
If you're coming on a weekend day, expect to wait for a while we waited 30 minutes for a table. This place is busy, which gives you the feeling that workers want to get you in and out fast. The food is good like in other breakfast restaurants. For the Girls watching your hourly figure, they have some food for you as well. Overall this place is a good place to eat.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing! I had the French Toast which was fluffy and full of flavor. Staff were absolutely amazing and accommodating. They were very attentive. Anytime my drink was low they immediately filled it up. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
Food is actually really good but $17.5 for Avocado toast??!? He'll no! 4 pieces of bacon for $17.5....CRIMINAL!! Asshole pricing here.

Yelp
The good: get the casserole! Its super fluffy and savory especially when you customize with toppings. We added sausage and spinach and avocado. The bad: I dont think the prices are worth it unfortunately. The chicken and waffles was quite basic and wasn't as substantial as I had hoped for something around $20, for example. And the casserole above was around $30 which is a little hefty. Service was friendly but I could tell they might have been understaffed because our server never came back to check in on us during our meal. If I can suggest to improve their service and quality perhaps the prices can feel more justified.

Yelp
It's overpriced, $7 for a glass of milk in a plastic cup? Cmon. I lived in the dorms for 4 years , and it reminded me of the cafeteria food. I haven't been back to my college cafeteria and I won't be back here for sure The Cesar dressing for the salad was overly fishy and missing pepper. The double smash burger had no qualities of a smash burger it was just two regular patties that taste the same as what I make on my grill nothing special. I didn't have any alcohol but if I did I'd be more upset about the quality and prices than I already am

Yelp
I've officially found my new favorite brunch spot! I visited the Breakfast Bar for the first time with my aunt and I had such a lovely experience. We arrived at around 10 am on a Wednesday and luckily there was plenty of seating available. The establishment's ambiance is very laidback, cute, and cozy. I like how they offer indoor as well as outdoor seating and I absolutely love how the servers all sport a "Day Drinker" t-shirt as uniform. In fact they sell their "Day Drinker" merch in the form of shirts, hats and hoodies and you know I just had to get a shirt to represent lol. Now onto the food! My aunt and I opted for the "Hung Over" breakfast poutine as a starter and it was 10/10 delicious! The Hung Over is ultimately fries topped with gravy, pork sausage, and other breakfast toppings and I'd literally come back here for this dish alone. For entrees my aunt ordered the popular Eggs Noni which is two egg benedict's on sourdough bread with your side of protein. My aunt was not too fond of the sauce that came on top of the eggs but I tried a bite and although her dish lacked in presentation the flavor was definitely there for me. I've been dying to try the famous Marcees Omelette which is an omelette casserole that you can customize with toppings. I added bacon and substituted my side of fruit for an extra potato cake. I'd absolutely recommend The Hung Over Poutine and Marcee's Omelette and you'd probably be okay skipping the Eggs Noni as it's nothing quite memorable. Overall The Breakfast Bar is a cute local establishment perfect for brunch and other breakfast occasions! Service was great and the food is equally delicious to how aesthetically pleasing the environment is. Give this place a shot and support your local businesses, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Service was fantastic, music was great but food was meh. My husband's potato pancake was god awful and he really tried to eat it. It was saturated in old oil. Very expensive breakfast as well. Parking was sketchy.

Yelp
Best Bloody Mary in Downtown LB! I love a good BM, but it's difficult to find a well-flavored concoction. Adequate spice and the celery kick. I loved it! Also had the Eggs Papi with ham. Really good hollandaise sauce and thick cut ham. Didn't care much for the potato pancake. My waitress was also lovely. She allowed me to relax at my table while I waited to check into my hotel room at Lumea by the Sea. She's a pro and made the experience that much better. TY

Yelp
This place was super yummy. Service at first was kinda slow but once we got to order food came quickly. Things that were supposed to be crispy were and things had amazing flavor. Totally disappointed in what was supposed to be a free coffee drink and the price of the chocolate milk. Other than that we were super happy with our breakfast experience here. If you go around the corner to the little alley there is a gorgeous mural. Fun photo op place.
