"The Brick Yard, a dependable Marina sports bar, is closing due to a combination of factors like high rent, food and beverage costs, and increased labor costs. Opened in 2010, it was popular for its above-average bar food, comfortable leather seating, and pleasant skylights. Despite efforts to stay profitable, the venue incurred substantial losses. The Giants' losing streak and the Warriors' playoff run are also mentioned as affecting factors." - Caleb Pershan

"A long bar, lots of TVs and booths, and a prime Union Street location bring us back to The Brick Yard regularly. It also doesn’t hurt that the sweet potato chips and fried chicken sliders are great. And if you need something with a hint of nutritional value to balance out the four beers you’re going to drink, they have a decent kale salad too. If sports aren’t your thing, they also host an excellent trivia night once a week." - Taylor Abrams

I’m “rounding up” from 2.5 stars.. As much as I’d like to rave about this place, it simply wouldn’t be the truth so I’ll start with the good. GOOD: -Location -Awesome vibe & atmosphere -Lots of TV’s -Huge variety of alcohol NOT SO-GOOD: -Food -Service -Depending on how busy it is, can get loud to the point of making it hard to speak (yes, I know it’s a sports bar & this is not completely the fault of the establishment) I would suggest eating elsewhere as the food does not surpass the level of ‘bar food’ in my humble opinion. Go to the Brick Yard with some friends to have drinks and watch a sporting event esp. for those who like to get loud. We ordered the French Dip & a salad. The salad was fine but I wasn’t able to eat the sandwich b/c it was WAY too salty & the au jus had a very thick consistency. So we ended up having a couple of drinks and going elsewhere for food. Even though the server had a tendency to disappear, she was very friendly & apologized for the food taking so long as well as for the protein on the sandwich being overly salty. In summary, I would still recommend going to the Brick Yard for a drink and to form your own opinion b/c it really is a cool spot... but maybe plan on eating elsewhere before or after b/c there are so many incredible places to eat within “arms reach”. I hope this review was helpful to both the management as well as any prospective patron in a constructive manner. ✌🏼

Nice atmosphere..however. drinks were expensive & the bartender was mostly focused on the the female drinkers next to my husband and I. (This is not an issue) but sadly they came off unfriendly and not interested in our order.

This was the first place we stopped when visiting San Francisco because it was close to our hotel. Atmosphere is nice, lots of TVs to catch the game. Drink menu has lots of selections but food menu is a little limited (it is a bar after all). Either way, the food that they do have is good. It was very busy while we were there so the service took a little bit of time but was very friendly. Overall, I would certainly recommend it, especially if you want to catch a particular game.

First off, best trivia in the city. On Tuesday nights, 5 stars for sure. The ambiance really depends on what time you stop by. On Sat and Sundays during Football season its a sports crowd. On Friday and Saturday nights its an older marina douche crowd. The Food is decent, but no item on the menu really wow-ed me. The fries are good. Service has really been hit or miss. I've had servers that have been over the top and amazing, and also servers that seemed to have been hired purely on their looks.

Delicious food and well-made drinks! I believe the menu is seasonal, as well as the drinks. Great for a date or night out in the town. The size of tables make you sit a little far from the person across from you, so you might catch yourself yelling or not engaging with your guest as much. Friendly and helpful service. The pizza and burgers are worth every penny.

Tuesday night trivia is super fun! I go with a group every so often and always have a great time. The questions are challenging, there is always a crowd and they have specials for drinks! The food looks great though I actually haven't had it, the drinks are pretty good! Typical bar!

Normally I go here to watch Michigan State football games. The bar itself is cool and the food is mediocre. But the service is horrible. There's not enough staff on busy days and there's not enough staff on slow days. There's just not enough staff. Had to wait 20+ minutes at the bar waving my hand for a drink. Still didn't get one and then just decided to leave. I'll probably go back to watch a game. But that's only because there aren't any other "Michigan State" bars.
