"On a rainy day, this slightly-musty pub might make you actually think you’re in England. The menu is full of British classics like bangers and mash and fish and chips, and they’re all worth dipping out of work early for (they close at 6). On your way out, hit the market next door that sells English treats like viennese tarts and digestive biscuits, which you’ll probably need after the shepherd’s pie." - Aimee Rizzo

"In its 43 years in Redmond, the British Pantry has become an Eastside go to for British fare as well as European imports. A savory steak and mushroom pie is among the hearty English classics like bangers and mash, and the dessert menu offers a variety of personal fruit pies in flavors like apple, apple-blueberry, strawberry, and rhubarb. Add a side of sweet English cream or even cheese for a twist on the typical scoop of ice cream on top." - Kurt Suchman, Eater Staff

"If you’re jealous of coworker Colin for getting to go on the business trip to London without you, a dinner at The British Pantry isn’t a bad idea. On a rainy day, the slightly-musty pub might make you actually think you’re in England. They close at 6pm, so you’ll have to hurry up and get in to take full advantage of the authentic English dishes, like bangers and mash. On your way out, hit the market next door that sells English treats like Viennese tarts and digestive biscuits, which you’ll probably need after all of those sausages. Head home with a bag full of hot cross buns and an optimistic outlook on coworker Colin." - aimee rizzo

Happened to be in the area around lunch time, so I went in for a proper meal. They never disappoint. Ordered the Lancashire Pasty with green salad, and house tea. Very filling and very delicious! I may not be able to go to England, but British Pantry definitely lets me travel by food! They are a worthwhile stop if you're in the area, the staff are kind and polite, and the food is wonderful! Thanks to all the staff for my lunch today!

Was here with my friend for lunch today (8/27) - amazing atmosphere, the space is very clean and service is MARVELOUS!!! Want to give special shoutout to server Izzy, who was very polite and made sure that we had everything we needed! Food quality was great, especially I will recommend to try their steamed mussels! Will be there again with my family!

I went to visit The British Pantry today with a friend, and I enjoyed it. The service was great and the staff were nice. I liked the British and antique, yet classical vibe of the restaurant. It was very quaint and peaceful. The food was good. However, I gave four stars because I wish they had more vegetarian options. Their vegetarian options were little to none. They should totally consider getting some vegetarian meat substitutes or adding vegetarian options. There are a lot of vegetarians in this area, and especially on the east side, where they are located. I had the crumpets with butter and jam, scrambled eggs, and fried potatoes. It was a delicious dish. It tasted very authentic and was full of great flavors! They also have a cute shop next to the restaurant, and a bar next door to that. They are all owned by the same owners. Overall, I would recommend The British Pantry. However, if you are vegetarian, please know that your options are very limited and you will have to get creative and remove meat, and add on sides, etc.

This place is an affordable oasis to experience British culture and food. The Spinache Quiche High Tea plate was great! I paired my plate with Earl Grey, shared with friends at the table. $20 for the plate and tea combined. The spinach quiche did seem to be topped with bacon as a warning to those looking for a vegetarian option - you may want to ask)

What to do on a blustery spring Saturday? Well, you load up the Scouser neighbors, and you head to the British Pantry! We had a great time! It's a challenge for a WA State Hall of Fame Chef to find a place with food worth bragging about, and this is one, as the food seemed to ferry him cross the mersey. The service was attentive, and the tea was bottomless. In spite of being located in downtown Redmond, the parking was easy. After eating, of course it comes the shopping at the Pantry for baked and boxed goods of all sorts. You will enjoy this stop for sure!

Stopped in for brunch with my sister. Had a great time and left stuffed! Staff were super nice and the food was awesome. I had the English breakfast and my sister had the Scottish eggs bennie, loved them both! The store on the other side is super cool too, I’ll be back to grab a sausage roll soon!

Charming place! Good food. Great “authentic” (having never actually been to the UK I can neither confirm nor deny) teas, snacks, and such in the store.

We went there for breakfast after discovering this little gem. It seems to offer authentic British breakfast options because many dishes has beans in it. We had big British breakfast with has two sausages that tasted quite different from the other sausages we’ve had. These sausages seemed to have more starch in them. And of course you cannot miss those beans in your typical British breakfast and we absolutely loved those beans. Overall I say this is a nice restaurant. We will definitely come back to try their afternoon tea. These types of small local owned and operated restaurants are becoming hard to find as Redmond go thru development that’s replacing these small restaurants with larger chains or more fancy restaurants, but also more expensive.

Yelp
I tried their Lancashire pasty, which was hearty and filled with flavorful meat and vegetables. I opted for their house blend English Breakfast tea, which was smooth and robust, making it a perfect pairing. Our server was attentive and kept our tea refreshed. This hidden gem is charming and very much in line with the U.K. theme. The decor was cozy, and I enjoyed looking at the nostalgic photos of Queen Elizabeth that gave the place an authentic British feel. It's almost like a small slice of the U.K. in Washington. I'd definitely return, especially in the afternoon, since they offer high tea time service.

Yelp
I stop by here whenever I am in Redmond. There is a restaurant on one side and a cute little shop on the other. My favorite thing to order is the sausage roll. I will get it every single time. I actually get 4-6 so that I can take them home and heat them up to eat for the next few days. I love them! I also love looking at all the desserts in the cases. I have tried quite a few and none of them have disappointed. It is also fun to browse around the shop for little nicknacks or snacks to take home. For the restaurant, I have only done tea time once and it was pleasant. Nothing special so I would stick to just ordering off the menu IMO.

Yelp
We've been here twice and the first time we just went to the shop attached. Tonight we officially ate dinner here. The tea was lovely and the food was alright. They weren't busy at all and the waiter working was very friendly and personable. The fish and chips wasn't consistently crispy which was a bummer and the salad had too much dressing. The bread pudding was pretty good as well. I ordered the English tart but they ran out and I was able to pick something from the shop case instead. Even if the dinner was just okay it was redeemed by the delicious shortbread (not pictured) from the shop. So simple and not too crumbly. I was happy they gave me an alternative dessert, again solid service. I hope to go back to try their high tea.

Yelp
Unfortunately this place no longer has the best fish and chips. The chips are still the best around. The fish used to be generous portions of tender fish. Now it's two small, dry, tough filets. Very disappointing.

Yelp
Delicious food and staff is very friendly. Nice little shop for BriBritish tea and snacks.

Yelp
Yummy high tea plate. First time having a cucumber sandwich and it was delicious. Friendly waitress and the space was comfortable! I will definitely be back.

Yelp
I went here for an afternoon high tea on a Sunday with my friend. We had the royal tea and the afternoon tea. The scone, crumpets, and everything else on the plate were fresh and delicious. It's a great place with British-themed decor to catch up with friends and enjoy tea and snacks.

Missy L.

Yelp
Love this place. They always stock some of my fav British staples and where all else can you get homemade sausage rolls. Delicious pasties. Delicious homemade treats. Just a great place overall. I love British food !

Christina G.

Yelp
A charming spot open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a fun menu of authentic eats. Ordered the fish and chips and an almond tart. Both were well done and arrived to our table in good time. Monday was pleasantly less crowded and we dined with music in our ears. Atmosphere is old school to help with the feeling of being transported away. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back.

Bryan K.

Yelp
Been coming here since the 90's for meat pies. I recommend the Steak & Mushroom Pie, Lancashire Pasty and Sausage Rolls. If they are good enough for King Charles, they are good enough for me.

Lily T.

Yelp
This charming little restaurant has a very homey and cosy feel. The waitress is very sweet and has the friendliest service. The food makes the whole experience an A+, it's delicious and not over complicated. The bakery/store has excellent pastries and pasties to take home

Yelp
We arrived to a very busy scene at the restaurant where one woman was handling all the tables, and seemed to be doing it superbly with a fantastic smile on her face. They really could have used another server, but she was handling it remarkably well. We were seated and warned that there would be a bit of a wait but we weren't in a huge rush--heck, we got there at the end of the lunch rush. Because it was 2:30 before we ordered for our late lunch, we ordered the Afternoon Tea. The food was good, although the menu's description of the spinach quiche and the bacon and mushroom quiche is lacking. BOTH quiches have bacon, so if you're looking for a vegetarian or kosher option, skip the quiche. The scones are quite different than I've ever seen before--they look more like a crumpet than a scone, but they were delicious. We also got the salt and vinegar wings as an appetizer and I was a bit surprised to see six chicken LEGS come out on a plate. They were delicious, though. It's a bit of a haul to get down to Redmond from where we live, but we try to get down there once or twice a year to enjoy having tea. There really aren't any places up on the North end.

Stan H.

Yelp
Bought apple pie and it had mold inside. Check your food and how long it stays there.

Rachael A.

Yelp
I ordered an earl grey. The tea was very bland even though I have waited for it to steep. I showed the waitress and she said she'll have to charge me for another bag of tea. The water was not warm enough to fully steep the tea. It's petty to want to charge your customer for an extra bag when the tea isn't steeped correctly in the first place. A luke warm bland tea spoils the whole high tea experience. I've been there for high tea a few times and I've always enjoyed the service but not this one.

Sydney L.

Yelp
Love coming here for tea. The food is delicious and there's a good selection of black and herbal teas. The tea menu gives us just the right amount of food; scrumptious cucumber sandwiches, yummy fruit, a crumpet, a tea cake, and we always add a sausage roll because we love them. The store is the best! So many varieties of tea and goodies. The Lancashire pasties are our favorite. We also love the proper British chips ... crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The only issue we've encountered was a rude server. When you come in, it's not at all clear what's what. It's a lobby-type room with no greeter, so we had no idea how to have a sit-down tea because there was no one around. No one in the store or the restaurant. When I went in search of someone, a server said rudely, "Can I HELP you?!?" I said we're here for afternoon tea and she said rudely to go back outside the gate "while we clean and set up a table." There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and numerous tables were clean and ready and set up. To the staff: we don't know what we don't know. Don't be rude. Especially when it is not at all clear how to dine in the restaurant AND there was nobody around to help us. We waited awhile before going in search of someone.

Yelp
This place was amazing! Such a hidden gem. Our server was very sweet! The food was great I enjoyed the Bakewell tarts soo much on these tea parties. The fish and chips where soo good! That tarter sauce was very tasty! Overall a great experience and something fun to do!

Yelp
Called a couple weeks before my date to find out if they were still serving their high tea options and was informed that they were in the morning and that they weren't taking reservations. Showed up around 11:20 am and were seated relatively quickly - gave us the option of indoor/outdoor and we responded with wherever would be easiest for them. Had we known there were tvs and loud rugby enthusiasts outside, we would've chosen inside especially since we couldn't see the TV's where we were seated, lol. After trying to order order high tea, we were told it was only offered after 2:30 pm... She went with Earl Grey tea with Eggs Benedict and I went with Blackcurrant tea with Lancaster Pasty. As we were still catching up, we asked to see a dessert menu and lo and behold, High Tea was listed for the morning and afternoon. We split an order of the Apple & Berry Tart which came with a generous portion of vanilla bean ice cream. After lunch, we browsed through the gift shop, which has been rearranged and is much neater and inviting than previously. I bought a couple of meat pies from their refrigerator to take home. We've been here before and will definitely visit again. Hopefully we'll get to try their High Tea experience some time (fingers crossed).

Yelp
Not a family friendly experience. We came here with our two children who were incredibly well behaved and at the end of our meal a server (who was not our server) asked me to take the baby rattle from my child as it was disturbing other customers, I looked around and said nobody seemed bothered (it was hardly like we were being a nuisance!) and she said "well I am". Totally rude demeanour. I am not sure if it was us or children that she had an issue with, it was completely unnecessary. This happened as we were about to leave so felt even more out of line. Would not recommend coming here if you are a family. As Brits we were really hoping to enjoy this experience. Food was mediocre at best. Weird atmosphere overall. Basically felt like bad British pub food. Missed opportunity here.

Yelp
i stop by for lunch with my wife and granddaughters. The middle age hostess with some kind of English accent was extremely rude when we asked for a table giving us a one word response...NO! When pressed to explained what that means ... she impatiently answered we will have a long wait. I understood lunch time can be busy even in late afternoon weekdays...but does the hostess have to be so rude that one of my granddaughters, who is 9 years old asked ...why is the hostess so hostile! It is terrible my granddaughters should be confronted with this poorly behaved hostess. I have previously been to the same restaurant twice for late lunch. Both times we were hosted and served very courteously by a young lady, who can't be more accommodating. I definitely would not be going back to this restaurant if the same hostess works there!

Nithya R.

Yelp
Visited this place for a high tea on a Friday afternoon. They have a few tea options, and a variety of treats that come with it. At $18 per person, I felt that the high tea was reasonably priced. I went with the Emperor tea that came with a scone, quiche, fruit and tart. My choice of tea was orange spice and I thought it was just ok. My friends who got the lemon and earl grey teas said they liked them a lot. Coming to the food, the scone and the cream that came with it was good, but I've had better scones in the past. I really liked the quiche, but the tart was passable. They have a cute little store to browse around with treats that you can purchase to-go, make sure to check it out while you are there. Note that they don't do high teas after 4 pm. Do reserve in advance if you are going with a large group. We had a good experience overall, and I'd definitely like to try them again for dinner.

Lorraine I.

Yelp
Do love it a lot Tiny little store The people work here some of them are really British Their accent does sound cute I love it so much Funny place to go have a high tea.

Yelp
Fantastic service and pretty good food! After a night out of drinking, my boyfriend wanted to go out for breakfast to help with his hangover. He's from the UK, so I wanted to find an authentic British breakfast spot for us to try out. The British Pantry had high praises on both Yelp and Google, so I had high hopes that we would have a good experience! We arrived at 10:02 on a Sunday morning. They open at 10 AM, so we were the first/only ones there. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a friendly server. Her name was Paula, and she was the sweetest woman ever. She asked if we had a preference on where we wanted to be seated, to which we said anywhere was fine. After seating us in a lovely, well-lit corner, she asked if we wanted any tea to start. I can't remember the tea my boyfriend got, but it was pretty good! As we looked over the menu, she checked in to make sure we were doing okay, which I really appreciated. My boyfriend was trying to take a picture of me, but he said, "Awh. The lighting is pretty bad." Paula overheard what he had said, and after taking our order, she shut the blinds behind me, which helped balance out the light issue on the camera. The food was delicious! I had the breakfast sandwich, and the potatoes it came with were perfect! It was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Definitely way better than having American hash browns for breakfast. The sandwich was pretty good as well. I'm more of a sausage rather than ham type of person, so that's why I didn't love it as much as I could've. My boyfriend had the English breakfast. He said it was excellent and came close to what it's usually like in the UK. Paula checked in on us just the perfect amount of times, and she was so attentive, sweet, and friendly throughout the entire time we were there. We are definitely coming back again soon!

Janice O.

Yelp
Love going to British Pantry for amazing fish and chips, homemade mince and fruit pies, English treats and a good cup of tea. Paula is a great waitress and a delightful person- we look forward to seeing her every time we drop by.

J B.

Yelp
Some of the best fish and chips around, authentic food and great staff and service and the decor as well.

Priyankana B.

Yelp
Good food, good service and good ambience. Taking one star away as they serve English Breakfast only on weekends.

Yelp
Great steak and mushroom pie! Also really fun finding Irn Bru at their grocery/bakery

Yelp
We've been coming here for years (not as often as we'd like, since we don't live close by) and have always enjoyed ourselves immensely. I felt I needed to post a review for today, though. We typically go out for breakfast Sunday morns, but today we thought let's have breakfast at home, then take a nice drive out to Redmond for tea. We got the tea time wrong again (we're old; too much to remember ) arriving at 2, but tea starts at 2:30. We asked our server if my wife could enjoy a spot of tea whilst I went shopping in their store. "Of course; absolutely no problem!" Paula was so very sweet and amiable (really don't get the negative reviews about her. I grew up in a restaurant family, and she is one of the best, most congenial servers I've come across). After tea, we found ourselves still hungry, so we ordered lunch. My wife had the mussels (fantastic cream sherry sauce; I stole several pieces of her bread to dunk), and I had the Scottish Smoked Salmon. That salmon was killer; so very fresh and tasty. Didn't care for the crackers it came with, but I made my own little sushi rolls with the cream cheese, capers, and red onions. Very delicious. All throughout, Paula was as attentive as could, considering how busy it was. We felt cared for and looked after. The young lady we met today does not match some of the comments and attitudes described. I know the nicest of us can be b*tches at times, but Paula was very professional and made our dining experience very pleasant.

Judy C.

Yelp
I've now been here twice, and from the outside I've always ignored it for the 20 years I've worked in Redmond. I regret that. When you go in, you feel like you are in the UK and the food is very reasonably priced, delicious and pretty big portions. Then again, I've only gotten the fish and chips. My friends enjoyed their orders too. There's a bakery/ to go section plus store that I'll have to check out and update review.

Cole B.

Yelp
Edit: Our waitress was Paula- looks like she has other bad reviews. She was super rude. Thankfully a blonde waitress came over after I asked her about something and felt bad enough to figure out something I could eat with my dietary restrictions. She was super sweet and didn't charge me for my food. Unfortunately, given that it looks like the staff here have tolerated someone like Paula for so long, I'd still be scared to come again, even in a group. Came here with a group- the waitress was super nice to everyone at first. Then I asked: are there vegan options? They said they had them online. There were none so I asked if they had any kind of sourdough bread or fruit or something and she looked me in the face and said "sorry hun I just serve the food." Didn't bother to ask, no concern at all for me needing any kind of food. It turned out I couldn't eat them, but I had to find another waitress and ask. She proceeded to ask if we wanted tea- I said yes because at this point that's all I could have. She didn't ask me what kind I wanted but asked everyone else what kind they wanted. It's obviously isn't a great place for vegan options, but they could have offered to bring a bowl of fruit or something. They were rude, unkind and not at all considerate. Don't come here with anyone who has ANY food sensitivity.

Yelp
In April, I was supposed to visit family in London for my birthday. Obviously, that didn't happen due to the current situation. As such, I was lucky to find this substitute on the Eastside. I didn't take part in the restaurant portion of the establishment so this will focus on the items they were selling. I was truly happy with tea offerings that had in stock. While you might be able to find 1-2 brands in other grocery stores (Twinnings) you probably wouldn't get as much of a range in flavors (lapsang souchong comes to mind). But the store had others brands as well as accessories for your tea experience (so many diffusers). I did notice others items such as the chips (Taytos/Walkers) that you would notice in a Tesco. So many choices including so many jams that would be great for crumpets. They even offered multiple brands of egg cups. Next time I visit I will ask if they offer the meal on their menu. They had Cadbury and other candies as well. They offered many pastries and desserts near the line. In terms of COVID-19 preparations, they do require masks and they marked places on the ground for people to stand while waiting on line. I would definitely come back for breakfast and just in case I need additional British items

Laura A.

Yelp
I'm usually just an observer on Yelp but my experience at this restaurant a week ago left such a bad taste in my mouth I've decided to review it. We came in on the weekend and they were very busy so we weren't expecting 5 star service but we were told very aggressively to the point of yelling by who would be our server that we needed to be patient when we simply asked how long the wait would be. After being seated and waiting 10 plus minutes to be greeted and then another 10 for drinks, the meal itself wasn't bad and everyone was pleased with their food. It was as we were about to pay that I heard our server Paula yelling and putting down the other waitress loud enough the entire room could hear. It was a moment that had us all looking around the room wondering what the heck was going on. Afterwards, I looked for a manager to talk with in regards to our negative experience and was told there wasn't one in. I called one time and was told again they weren't in and then gave up. It is always bizarre when you go out to eat and feel like you're inconveniencing your server by being there. We've been here a few other times when it was less busy and with different service and had positive experiences, so we will definitely be willing to come back again for another try.

Yelp
I really don't want to post this. I love the food here. My mom, daughter and I came here for my mom's birthday. We waited about 20 min to get a table even though there were table available given the covid situation. When we sat down, we got water from our hostess. The waitress, Isobel, greeted us about 20 min after we sat down. She didn't seem like she wanted to be there. We got our tea and after about 45 min, my mom asked if the waitress knew how much longer. Our food came out at different times but it was delicious. When we closed our bill, my mom wanted a receipt. After about 15 min, I took it upon myself to go get it. I saw our receipt on the hostess stand and took it. The worst part was that we just sat there waiting. Nobody checked on us to see if we needed more tea or water, or to let us know how long it would take for our food. We were happy to wait as long as we weren't ignored. Food good Service bad

Yelp
I love to pop into this place for lunch. Rarely crowded (which I don't understand) and the service is lovely, attentive without smothering. It's a cozy environment. Lots of dark wood AND HRH Elizabeth II gazing down at you from one wall. The Red Leicester burger is very good. And the fries (chips) are excellent. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and as long as your hand! Have also had their fish & chips and the Shepherd's Pie and both were excellent. AND when you're done with lunch, you can pop into their bakery next door and take home the chicken curry pasty (so good! Light, flaky pastry and tender curried chicken & veggies), the Lancashire pasty (like shepherd's pie but portable) or any number of fruit tarts or mini-pies for your next day's meal.

Piko L.

Yelp
Meat pies! English tea & all the tea paraphernalia that'll make any tea enthusiast go cross-eyed with joy! English sweets, treats and savory snacks! Walking in here was like a strange wonderland of sights and smells (delicious ones, from the pub next door) and I returned with a box full of meat pies to last me all through dinner until tomorrow! They also have a wide array of freshly-baked tarts and dessert pies (apple, blueberry, strawberry, you name it!) Honestly I needed a second stomach after merely looking in the bakery case. Highly recommend anyone wanting a grab-and-go delicious pie to make your day.

Brendan c.

Yelp
The staff were better a year ago. Last visit, the waitress didn't know what teas were available or there taste. It's called The British Pantry and has an afternoon tea service, so the staff should be able to recommend a tea and at the every least know what teas are available. I've been disappointment with the food my last 2 visits. I go in with higher expectations and disappoint myself. The food is solid British which is good but after a few visits you better know your favorite dish hope they have it. The menu (for me) has gotten stale and offer nothing new. They could at least change up the pastries for the afternoon tea from time to time. Change up the sandwiches from year to year. If you want simple and know nothing changes, the British Pantry is the place for you.

Adelie S.

Yelp
Such a charming little store and tea room with delightful afternoon tea! I honestly can't think of a better place on the Eastside to while away an afternoon over sweet and savory bites with a pot of English tea (highly recommend the lapsang souchong). Afternoon tea is served from 2.30-4.30pm on weekdays with options to suit different tastes (e.g you can pick between a quiche, sausage roll or trio of sandwiches for your savory options, and it comes with a side of fruit, scone/crumpet and my favorite, a Bakewell tart). Feeling super hungry? Consider adding a side of chips with curry dip! Sadly the curry chicken pastry was sold out by the time we arrived, but be sure to pop by the bakery/deli next to the tea room where you can purchase yet more delicious pastries to take home! This is our go-to spot if we're ever in the mood for a spot of tea on the Eastside.

Yelp
Perfect tea service at a great price! The staff are lovely, and there's a sundry shop attached where you can find British treats and goods.

Yelp
Great food and super friendly servers. Recommend this place! The interior is decked out in English and rando-stuff. Very cool atmosphere. The food was all prepped fairly quickly and was super tasty. Serving sizes are appropriate (not tiny, not stupid big). The meals are very filling. Inside there is darts and karaoke.

Yelp
Established in 1978. This English-themed establishment is charming, vintage-looking and transported me for a few minutes to my imaginary UK shop without leaving WA's King County. Haha! Besides selling general goods like teas, tea pots, cups & saucers, tea towels, biscuits, crackers, vegemite, magnets and any possible thing that reminds you of UK, the store has a deli counter that sells their baked goods like pasties, scones, and tarts. Many cultures have their own version of handpies. British Pantry's pasties/handpies like Chicken Curry Pasty, Steak & Kidney Pie, Lancashire Pasty, and Ploughman's did not disappoint. It was flaky, satisfying, hearty and flavorful. I'll be back for more...

Yelp
I called to make a birthday reservation for my mom and 3 others. Couldn't get past the rude woman who answered the phone. I tried to ask a question about the tea menu and she told me to look at their FB page. When I told her I'm not on FB and just wanted to clarify the menu she told me it was "just too bad" and it was all on their FB page. Totally serious. Beyond snotty. I thought the recent 1 star reviews about the ride staff here were Baloney. I can now say it's true.

Yelp
Want some flavor of the UK ?? You will get that in spades here. Not improved upon or Americanized in any way. But just like one might expect back across the pond. If that's what your looking for, this is your place. Enjoy!

Yelp
I feel badly to write this review, but a review must be honest. We've visited TBP on/off since moving here ten years ago. Sadly it's really changed the last few years in particular. Before, the service was friendlier, the pastries had more variety and tasted fresher. You could have it warmed and served with a salad even for a lovely treat. Now? Pastries are all cold and taste stale. They won't warm anything for you -- you can next door, for a higher price (!!). Already marked up prices have comically skyrocketed. Too much piled up in the freezer -- not enough freshly baked items to choose from. Hope they can get back to their original model or at least hire some friendlier people.

Yelp
I had to wait a while before someone came to the register and the cake I bought still had paper in it.

Yelp
I loooooove this place!!!! Yummy sausage rolls, hand pies, pasties and delicious tarts! Everytime we are in Seattle we load up On sausage rolls, pies and teacakes and freeze everything to bring them home.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. Service. Food. Drinks. Top drawer everything. We ordered the fish and chips, steak pie, chicken drumsticks and cheese plate. Drinks were the Princess Di and a pint of Old Speckled Hen because they didn't have Boddingtons. I'm embarrassed to say I've lived in the Redmond area for 23 years and this is my first visit. I'm crazy since I love fish and chips and these were perfect fish and chips. The fish was flaky, crispy and perfect. The chips were unbelievable. The tartar sauce was the best I've ever had. No joke. The steak pie was packed with flavor. I can't say anything about the Apple pie since my wife didn't share. This usually means it was fantastic so we'll go with that. Go to the British Pantry.

Yelp
Y'all. If you haven't been to the British Pantry bakery, you are missing out. I was first brought to this place by my mother in law many years ago, and since then have been hooked. Primarily I come in to procure the sausage rolls. This is a Christmas morning breakfast tradition in my husband's family, so every December 23rd or so I make my way back to Redmond to stock up on these tasty treats. While I'm there I pick up some pasty pies, shortbread and whatever other tasty things I come across; there are always excellent stocking stuffers to be found! The shop is always busy and the staff is always kind. The wait can be a bit long at times, but it is well worth it.
