This was my second time trying this restaurant (Friday Jan 3) since I visited 2 weeks after they opened. The first time I went it was ok, but I was excited to come back because they had been open awhile; and maybe they fixed all the kinks.
This reservation was a party of eight and the atmosphere was amazing, don't get me wrong. It's a very nice place and I can tell the interior designer knew what they were doing. But unfortunately the food and service did not live up to the price at all.
To start with, the food took a really long time to come out when we came super early and were the only ones in the dining room (5:30, I also understand that 8 entrees, drinks, and 2 salads is a lot but, I had noticed a table that came 20 minutes after us got their food first, I think we waited 45-50 minutes from ordering to getting the food) This restaurant is a fine dining restaurant and I was displeased with the fact that the food runners did not know who had what. If I'm paying over $600 for eight people I expect the food runners to know who got what; and not have them call out asking who got what, like it's a Chili's.
The drinks were good, everyone enjoyed the cocktails they got and waters were refilled promptly. But our waiter forgot to get one of our party members their glass of wine.
I had gotten the wagyu burger and truffle fries to go with it. My food came out and I immediately noticed I did not get truffle fries. I let the food runner know promptly and she reassured me and said she would tell the head chef and get me new fries. She also suggested I asked others at the table if they wanted the fries instead so they didn't go to waste, I did what she suggested. To my surprise she comes back and sets the truffle aioli onto the table and walks off before I could say anything. By this point half of my fries had been picked off because I offered them to others anticipating new fries, like promised. My mother order the crab arancini as her entree and a salad. Her salad was given to another member at the table who ordered the same thing for their entree ( her salad was supposed to come as a starter and the other party member's salad was her entree). Which caused great confusion because the waiter didn't even know what was supposed to come when. Moving on, my mother's arancini (her entree) was extremely fishy and she immediately lost her appetite. My sister had ordered the lobster pasta and also said it was fishy. But I will props to the steelhead trout, it was delicious.
Overall I was disappointed in the service and food, I expected better. I wanted it to be better because Waco does not have a lot of good fine dining. But unfortunately it is not a good fine dining place and I will not recommend it to anyone.
