Best Restaurants in Waco, Texas | Eater Dallas

"This very curated and eye-catchingly decorated restaurant is blooming out in the ‘burbs of Waco (only a 15-minute drive from Downtown). Owners Matt and Tiffany Fatheree teamed up with chefs Alejandro Najar and Alyssa Osinga, who were featured on Hell’s Kitchen, to create the Butcher’s Cellar. The menu focuses on shareable dishes, featuring a killer lobster tagliolini, crunchy shrimp toast, and various cuts of steak and select seafood dishes. The 1,000 Layer Potato, topped with creme fraiche and roe, is a must-order — it is savory and earthy, with layers of potato that are awe-inspiring. The restaurant’s interior is also a treat, with walls lined with photos where the owner is very obviously Photoshopped in, vintage finds picked up only God knows where, and country-chic decor." - Amy McCarthy

We had an amazing dining experience at The Butcher & The Cellar! Every meal was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The atmosphere was amazing! and the service was top-notch. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Waco, this is definitely a spot worth checking out. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back! Shout out to our server, Jordan she was awesome!

My husband and I went there yesterday for our early Valentine’s Day dinner since I’d be working the whole weekend. I had the trophy wife drink, the Texas red fish and he had the low mein and the sushi. We also had the wagyu dumplings and frites. From the server to the owner checking on us everything eas perfect. At first, I didn’t like the Texas red fish but I took it home and for some reason it was a hit when shared with my kids and mom. To be honest, I wasn’t that hungry and was more into enjoying my date. The atmosphere is so cozy and relaxing. I’ve been there before with colleagues and had the chicken on a bed of mashed potatoes and it was divine. This is a place you keep returning to because there is so much attention to details and they know how to make you feel special.

Nothing but exceptional! From service, to decor, to beautiful, creative, balanced, delicious dishes, we were very impressed. This restaurant has everything you could want in a fine-dining steak house. The atomosphere is a mix of classy-cozy-vintage-eclectic. Our serve Tyler was very friendly and knowledgeable. Even the restaurant manager Matt came over and made us feel quite welcome. The Butcher’s Cellar is a place we will be returning to. Thank you guys for a wonderful dining experience.

From the moment I stepped through the front doors, I immediately knew how special and unique our evening would be! It was more than I could have imagined from the start. From the beautiful decor, amazing drinks, incredible service, and the "out of this world" food, we couldn't have had a better experience. Our party of 6 shared several dishes and we got to experience quite an assortment of meals, appetizers, and sides. With each bite, we were all in heaven! I even have Celiac Disease and I could enjoy the majority of all of the items on the menu. You will not be disappointed and the Chefs have worked very hard to make a very top notch menu that will be constantly changing! THANK YOU for our wonderful evening!

My husband and I were in town and decided to try out this place for my 30th birthday. Everything we had was AMAZING! Our waitress was phenomenal and gave us great recommendations and was very knowledge about the menu. She answered all questions throughly and was very kind. They even comped our dessert for my birthday. We have the oysters Rockefeller, steak and Fritas, fillet, ribs ribs and Mac and cheese. Everyone needs to try this place. Atmosphere was great also. Good vibes 🤩 will return.

The Butcher’s Cellar is truly doing special things for the dining scene in Waco. Chefs Alejandro and Alyssa have a dedication to excellence that transcends anything previously seen in this market. The best steaks in the county are simply a starting point or “qualifier.” We could, and have, stuffed ourselves senseless on the appetizer menu alone. No chefs in the area have earned my absolute trust more and with such authority. Don’t hesitate to order anything that remotely piques your interest, it will be delicious and beautiful. No stone left unturned on this menu. Service and atmosphere set a new standard for upscale dining in this area. If you’re visiting from out of town, I implore you not to miss this place, as it represents the future of the bourgeoning culinary scene in the greater Waco area. If you’re a local, make this your special occasion spot. They are going above and beyond the “good for Waco” stamp that gets slapped on popular new restaurants. It’s excellent for ANYWHERE, and that deserves to be recognized and appreciated. It’s a gem, and I’m proud to have it in my own backyard.

Google
I’ve ate at a lot of upscale steak restaurants, but this one is chef’s kiss! The ribeye was absolutely fantastic with phenomenal. You could cut through it with a fork! Seriously the best steak I’ve ever had. Appetizers were great. We tried the Focaccia and Bao Buns. Enjoyed them both and would definitely order the bread again. The sides were a bit disappointing, which shocked me compared to the rest of the plates. Brussel sprouts were good, and that’s saying a lot because that is not a vegetable I like. The potato purée was not a texture I was expecting and didn’t seem to go with the vibe of the meal. The Mac and cheese had appeal, but that’s one of my favorite sides and I wasn’t completely sold on it. Overall, we had a fantastic time and plan to come back once a quarter. We are excited to try their new brunch menu!

Google
We ordered the 1000 layer potato, wagyu dumplings, truffle fries, Brussels sprouts, along with the Red Fish and Aged Pork Chops. Of the appetizers the wagyu dumplings and fries were my favorite. The sauce for the layer potatoes needed my salt in my opinion but outside of that everything else was phenomenal. The Red Fish’s white wine butter sauce was divine and I highly recommend this if you like seafood! Excellent service and beautiful decor and atmosphere.

Yelp
I have been to the Butcher's Cellar a few times now and I am thrilled to say they have been consistently excellent every time. Last night was no exception. Quick and professional service, attentive and friendly by several staff members. Tristan was our main server and he took great care of us. The decor is one of my favorite highlights. It lends to a feeling of adventure, as if stepping into a photographic diary of sorts. Last but not least , the FOOD! That's what really matters. And is does not disappoint. I have had steak and sides on prior visits (best in town) but this time we went for salad and appetizers. I didn't take any photos because honestly, we were too busy enjoying the fare before us Salad: the Wedge - it was perfect. A few surprises - chopped egg pieces in the dressing, which was delicious and generous in portion. And for the bacon, instead the little bits that always leaving you wanting more, they give you about a whole half a slice of their special side item and it makes the whole meal! Appetizers: 1000 layer potato Dumplings Torched and Pressed Sushi All of it amazing. Chefs knocking it out of the park! Drink: Italian Summer ... need I say more? Add this place to your list- it's a must

Yelp
Buckle of for a longer review because this place was astonishing, a real culinary experience. We arrived an hour early for our reservation so we had drinks at the bar and it was just transportive. The energy and decor of the bar and restaurant is just classic and lovely. You really can feel the love and dedication that went into the design of the restaurant. I loved the marble/ natural stone tops of the cocktail tables and the leather seats. Such elegance without making someone feel out of place. The wine menu is spectacular and I found a favorite at a very agreeable price. A wonderful job in selecting the wines. Jordan was our server when we were seated and we highly appreciated her dedication and attention to our service and experience. I really appreciate that she didn't rush us to order mains until after we had more time and overall her easiness in conversation was very relatable and we enjoyed getting to know her. Now the food, A+++ honestly the best appetizers I've had in a while with the right balance of flavor and spice! Both the dumplings and crispy rice were standouts on their own. The main filet dish and sides were all equally excellent. The streak was charred a little in the outside, which I love, with perfect medium temperature inside. Honestly spectacular. Dessert was just as wonderful and we finished every bite. This restaurant is wonderful and I hope you come back and experience it again. Such a great job!

Yelp
This is the best food in Waco, period. We've been for dinner which was incredible. The Asian food is crazy good. Today we went for brunch and my goodness it was amazing. Wife and I split French toast, huevos rancheros, and the burger. French toast was some of the best I've had. Didn't even need syrup. Crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Huevos rancheros was also delicious. Loved the stacked crispy corn tortillas and heavy lime juice which we liked alot. Beans are excellent. The burger though, OMG! We'll be going back for dinner to get the dinner burger for sure. This burger was so damn juicy. Loved how they diced the onions and pickles. It was the first thing I ate and I wish we ordered 2.

Yelp
We were so excited to try this restaurant because we had gollowed thecareer of the chef. I was so hugely disappointed with the hospitality and the food I won't go back and I would not suggest to anyone I know to visit. I made reservations from their website for 2 people at 7 on a Saturday evening. Not being from the area we had some trouble finding the restaurant and arrived 5 minutes before our reservation. I advised the hostess who we were and they took us to our table, and I noticed we passed besutiful booths and lavish tables only to be sat at a wooden two top at the furthest point of the restaurant. As soon as we sat down it was apparent the table was not level. I went to get the manager and my husband starting moving our stuff to a similar table nearby. As I trailed the manager after explaining our plight and unlevel table she starts addressing my husband so loud from halfway across the dining room saying sir, sir. I was shocked she would do this so loudly. She came up chastised us for moving and left. My husband and I both looked at each other trying to determine if we should leave. Our waiter arrived and took our drink order and advised us the building is settling and that may have caused the table to move. We ordered drinks and the pork chop, scallops and brussel sprouts. Our food took about 25 minutes to arrive and I immediately noticed my scallops were cold and had been garnished with scallions (one had an odd undercooked feel) and dried onions. It was terrible. The menu made no mention of this and if it had I would have chosen something different because I'm not a fan of onions. The bone-in pork chop was three different temperatures as my husband tried to eat it. He said it was too large of a serving. The brussel sprouts were forgettable. We did watch a manager come over and push on the table then explain the tables are all self leveling. When he left I reached back to the table and showed husband it was still off by shaking it. Our waiter was great but not great enough to make up for our terrible experience. The drinks were not good. Heavy pours made them hard to drink as we like our beverages to be balanced.

Yelp
Love it here! Been a few times for dinner and recently for brunch. Food is always good and service is even better. Lighting is not too dark like a lot of higher class restaurants so the ambiance is perfect. We first got the BC bacon, and it was not like their normal bacon they've had before, but that's our fault for not noticing. It was still very good, but just different. We also got the cinnamon crusted French toast and it was phenomenal. It was super sweet - but who wouldn't expect it to be. We definitely have sweet tooth's so it was perfect. We got the pancake and it was good, but not completely what we were expecting, which we didn't really know what to expect. Overall, another amazing experience. Now waiting to see what's opening next door!

Our first time dining here and we were delighted with our experience! Our waiter was wonderful! The food was delicious! We will be coming back for sure.

Yelp
Went to The Butcher's Cellar for the first time yesterday for my birthday. This restaurant is so beautiful! The seating, the lighting and the decor is so pretty and the vibe was so relaxing. We dined from the Restaurant Week menu and also arrived in time for happy hour pricing for the cocktails. We have no complaints! From the person who seated us to the young man who brought our water to the staff who brought out our food and cocktails - the service was impeccable, attentive and professional. Our server Jill was perfection! She made the evening so special. The food was delicious! The only thing I didn't take a picture of was the complimentary glasses of bubbly for my birthday. What an amazing place!

Yelp
Pretty disappointing 10th anniversary dinner tonight being served raw steak. Sent two steaks back, they re-fired the same steaks, ended up not eating one, gaslit into believing that both of these steaks were cooked to medium rare by the assistant general manager. I get it, it's a Monday night and maybe they had a tough weekend by the grumblings from the employees, but don't be open on a Monday night if you can't show up the same way you do on a Friday or Saturday.

Yelp
We recently moved to the area and wanted a relaxing evening to celebrate our new home. We decided to try Butcher's Cellar and am so very glad we did. We started in the bar and I wanted something citrusy and refreshing. I told the bartender to surprise me. And boy, did she. She fixed me one of the best drinks I've ever had. It was crisp and tart and absolutely delicious. I know it had elder flower and was topped with time which gave it the best scent. Wonderful drink. The decor was warm and inviting and so beautiful. I was really impressed with the restrooms and the decor and hardware on the stalls. Every detail in design was perfect. Now the food.... We had the wagyu dumplings as suggested by our server Tyler. So delicious. The flavors were amazing as well as the heat. I had the shrimp scampi with udon noodles. The buttery lemon flavor was perfect with a hint of wine. And the shrimp were perfectly cooked. My husband had the prime steak and frites. The steak was one of the best I have tasted. And perfectly cooked. My husband loved the fries. We will gladly go back. One of the best dining experiences we've had in a while and so close to our new home.

Yelp
Service was great!! Literally the nicest server! I completely forgot her name but she is a cat mom All that to say.... it took an hour after ordering to get our food! I had the short rib lo-mein and it was pretty decent and my husband had a Filet 6oz with the Frites. The steak was burned on the outside and the fries were so salty... when we spoke to management she was nice but never really took responsibility and kept apologizing it wasn't to his liking... we ordered med. rare! She only offered 50% off and offered to recook a steak... but after the long wait we weren't interested in waiting that long again

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Food was spot on delicious. Make a reservation here. We enjoyed the experience! Very quiette.... We came here for our five year anniversary while in Waco traveling!

Yelp
I'm not sure how they have any bad reviews. We had one of the best meals I've ever had. The service was incredible and the food was amazing. The restaurant is so cute inside. Not at all what I was expecting when we pulled up. I can't wait to go back to Waco so I can eat here again.

Annika S.

Yelp
Fantastic service food and ambiance. One of the best meals I have had. Our server did an amazing job and recommended amazing food and drinks. I would highly recommend going here if you're in the area!

Yelp
We went for my husband's birthday, Sat night. He ordered the scallops and I ordered the lobster vodka pasta. Both were delicious! The appetizer, crab risotto balls were phenomenal. So good!! For sides we ordered the potato stack and also the mushrooms. Both were amazing. We will be coming back here for sure on special occasions. Jill, our server, was very attentive. Oh, and she mentioned to us that Alejandro, third place runner up, from Hell's Kitchen (2021), is the head chef! Also working with him is Alyssa from the same season. We got to meet her tonight. How wonderful. We watch every show and remembered both of them. Give this place a try!

Yelp
This place is a gem. From the wine and cocktail list, to the food, to the service and ambiance, it was an excellent experience through and through. Our group enjoyed it so much we were the last ones to leave. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Service was disappointing and we left feeling irritated rather than satisfied despite a wonderful ambiance and great food. We agree with most of the one, two and three star reviews. For such an elegant interior and high-end menu, the wait staff's service should reflect that. There was no inquiry "is this your first time here?" or casual small talk that's normal for a fine dining establishment. I asked for a beer and left it up to our server to bring me a lager or something similar of his choice. I was a bit surprised when he set down a "Coors banquet" bottle in front of me and gave a canned IPA to my husband. Didn't offer a glass to pour it into - strange at such a nice restaurant but I figured maybe it was just one of those charming Texas things. We ordered a tomahawk steak medium rare and as most other underwhelmed reviews mentioned - it was overcooked. It was medium which wasn't what we ordered. A huge factor that differentiates mid steakhouses with great steakhouses is cooking the meat correctly. A $150 piece of meat needs to be cooked properly or you shouldn't bother to ask. That being said, the steak was delicious. I ordered a waygu burger and when it was brought out the server said "waygu burger, medium rare". It wasn't - it was actually well done but no one asked how I wanted my burger so it was interesting that he told me it was medium rare as if I ordered it that way. I think it's supposed to be medium rare but I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked, and it definitely wasn't medium rare (which was fine by me, it was still delicious.) Malted fries were fine, nothing special. Harissa honey Brussels sprouts were very good, we all liked them. My son enjoyed the 1000-layer potatoes. We ran out of water several times during our meal and were never asked if we wanted another drink (beer or otherwise). My husband and I both would have enjoyed a glass of wine with our meal but were never asked and it didn't feel right to flag down our waiter. The manager/maitre d' did stop by our table to ask if our meat was cooked to our liking and we appreciated that. However, what really ruined the experience for us was during our meal - my husband was mid-bite with steak and sides on his plate and fork in hand, steak still on the plank, sides with food still in the dishes - and a busboy started to remove his plate from him along with the tomahawk plank "are you done let me take this" - "no we're still eating." Then 45 seconds later our waiter arrived out of nowhere (we hadn't seen him at all during our meal) "y'all finished? After eating all that I'm sure you're too full for dessert." (WHAT!?!) and tried to take the steak plank and our plates. "No! We're still eating." Literally 30 seconds later another busboy came "are you finished let me get that out of your way" and all three of us yelled "NO! we're not finished." It was like we were being rushed out or they really needed that particular plank for another customer or something. It was really strange and unsettling because we were left with empty water glasses all evening and nobody checking back to see if we wanted wine or anything else to drink with our meal after we finished our beers, but as we were still eating our food they were coming at us every minute to grab our food out from under us while our water glasses remained empty. We probably would have spent an additional $30-$50 on drinks and dessert if we had been asked, but we weren't. We felt rushed during our meal despite it being a week night and it wasn't busy. Plenty of empty tables. We enjoyed the food but the pestering near the end of our meal made us feel unwanted and like our time was up despite spending $250 on dinner.

Yelp
The new chicken fried steak was so good. Service was great and ambience was very nice. Our favorite place for dinner.

Yelp
My first time experience here could be described as striking, robust, and unique. This is hands down the best fine dining experience I have had in Waco. Filet was comparable or better than Bob's steakhouse, Perry's, and Chamberlains. Perfectly cooked and tender. Wagyu burger was one of the most flavorful foods I've had in a while. Adorned with the caramelized onions and bacon jam to complement a perfectly cooked burger with the cheddar dripping off the sides... enough to send you to heaven and back. Our server was attentive and friendly and the ambience was an interesting cacophony classy yet eclectic. I highly recommend The Butcher's Cellar to anyone in the area.

Yelp
Amazing food and atmosphere! All the service was great and we enjoyed all of our waiters recommendations.

Yelp
The place is beautiful. We loved the vibe. Very upscale for the area. We enjoyed our drinks. The purple reign specifically stood out. We tried several apps with mixed reviews. My husband's steak was perfect, if not a little rare. But, our friends' was thinner and mostly medium well. My scallops were cooked beautifully and delicious. Though I prefer a bit more lemon. I'd definitely order those again. And the 1000 layer potato was a crowd favorite. I think there could be some more expanding of the menu. My husband was disappointed no fish and chips since the onion ring was so good. The Mac and cheese looked nothing like the photo I saw online. It was tasty but not at all creamy. I did enjoy the s'mores dessert. I've never had anything like it. We also had the crème brûlée but wasn't as impressed. Overall a really nice experience. Service was great.

Yelp
I've been twice. First time had the Ribeye steak which wasn't good for the premium price. No flavor, chewy, and no sear. Didn't plan to try another steak here until I saw they added a new menu option the Iron Table Flatiron Steak. Fantastic. Best steak in Waco and well worth the price. Service is great. Expect a bit of a wait once you're seated, but after your server visits your table it's top notch service from there. Decor is pretty wild and interesting. Take time to walk around the restaurant and bathrooms to see everything.

Yelp
This was our first time here and it was amazing!! We celebrated my boyfriend's birthday and Jamii truly made the experience so enjoyable. You can really tell when someone enjoys where they work and that was her. The food was 12/10 and the drinks were amazing! The vibe was super cool. It felt almost like goth cowboy. I would highly recommend this place and plan on coming back soon!

Yelp
This was my second time trying this restaurant (Friday Jan 3) since I visited 2 weeks after they opened. The first time I went it was ok, but I was excited to come back because they had been open awhile; and maybe they fixed all the kinks. This reservation was a party of eight and the atmosphere was amazing, don't get me wrong. It's a very nice place and I can tell the interior designer knew what they were doing. But unfortunately the food and service did not live up to the price at all. To start with, the food took a really long time to come out when we came super early and were the only ones in the dining room (5:30, I also understand that 8 entrees, drinks, and 2 salads is a lot but, I had noticed a table that came 20 minutes after us got their food first, I think we waited 45-50 minutes from ordering to getting the food) This restaurant is a fine dining restaurant and I was displeased with the fact that the food runners did not know who had what. If I'm paying over $600 for eight people I expect the food runners to know who got what; and not have them call out asking who got what, like it's a Chili's. The drinks were good, everyone enjoyed the cocktails they got and waters were refilled promptly. But our waiter forgot to get one of our party members their glass of wine. I had gotten the wagyu burger and truffle fries to go with it. My food came out and I immediately noticed I did not get truffle fries. I let the food runner know promptly and she reassured me and said she would tell the head chef and get me new fries. She also suggested I asked others at the table if they wanted the fries instead so they didn't go to waste, I did what she suggested. To my surprise she comes back and sets the truffle aioli onto the table and walks off before I could say anything. By this point half of my fries had been picked off because I offered them to others anticipating new fries, like promised. My mother order the crab arancini as her entree and a salad. Her salad was given to another member at the table who ordered the same thing for their entree ( her salad was supposed to come as a starter and the other party member's salad was her entree). Which caused great confusion because the waiter didn't even know what was supposed to come when. Moving on, my mother's arancini (her entree) was extremely fishy and she immediately lost her appetite. My sister had ordered the lobster pasta and also said it was fishy. But I will props to the steelhead trout, it was delicious. Overall I was disappointed in the service and food, I expected better. I wanted it to be better because Waco does not have a lot of good fine dining. But unfortunately it is not a good fine dining place and I will not recommend it to anyone.

Tan P.

Yelp
Took my husband here for his birthday dinner. While they did not do anything special for his birthday, the food was amazing. We got the steak and frites and was cooked to perfection, both my medium well and his medium rare. Truffle fries were above my expectations. Also got sides of mushrooms, mashed potatoes, & Mac n cheese. They were all superb! The chocolate custard tart was rich, with a velvety dark chocolate texture. We would definitely come back!

Anon M.

Yelp
Love it , food and hospitality was top notch would definitely return. Food was fresh and drinks were delicious

Yelp
Went here for a birthday celebration and we couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you to the host/hostess team, server and cooks for an amazing experience filled with good food and good service. Cannot wait to eat here again. All the best to y'all

Leeayn C.

Yelp
We were lucky enough to go to one of the soft opening nights here! WOW - what a gorgeous atmosphere the minute you walk in the door. The interior designer deserves so much praise over the eclectic items used on the walls - from crystal chandeliers to a set of bulls horns and so much more. The hostesses at the door were so cute and charming!! The waitstaff - without a doubt - had jitters but every single one we had come to our table was friendly and gracious. We had Desiree as our server - what a sweetheart who went above and beyond!! The two chefs - Alejandro and Alyssa - came out to say hello. How kind and wonderful they are. The food was exceptional! There are just so many things to try! For appetizers, we had the Tuna Toast and the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice (my fave) and the Miso Honey Butter Corn Ribs!! For dinner, we split the 6 oz filet which was cooked perfectly. We added the Potatoes Aligot with Bone Marrow Demi. Oh lord it was all so delicious!! Only disappointment was my husband's dirty martini made with Tito's. The glass was absolutely beautiful - I wanted to tuck it into my purse!! But - it tasted dreadful. Sent it back to try again, but still awful. On the other hand, my Old Fashioned was perfect!! We'll become regulars there!!

Flora M.

Yelp
Superb! Would highly recommend especially if you are looking to trying a new spot in this area and flavors that will transform your palette. Our waitress made excellent recommendations and was quick on her feet. Great for a date night or special occasions, this spot was very warm and inviting. Will return and try other dishes.

Alex G.

Yelp
Definitely must try, a little pricey but steak was delicious and sides were good, if you're worried about price maybe pass on this place but if then try it. Drinks were good too

Yelp
AMAZING food! This is my first time to Waco and was looking for something upscale for a meeting. The reviews did not give it justice. A MUST TRY! Everything was full of flavor, even the TEA which my friend had like six glasses! Our waiter had us try no less than five appetizers... One also stays warm if you sit by the beautiful fireplace. Anything to add? Invite me please as I will definitely make a reservation before I return to town.

Yelp
Enjoyed this spot as we celebrated my wife's birthday. Rolls were great with the seasonal butter. I got the pork chop & LOVED it. My wife got the sirloin & there wasn't much flavor. We shared the mac & cheese & fries.

Yelp
From the moment we walked in, we knew this was going to be a great experience. The reservation I made included a special request, which was done beautifully. Everyone has different tastes in food, so I can truly say if you don't like what you ordered, it is not because it was improperly prepared. Service from everyone was excellent.

Yelp
We dined here on Saturday night. The food was great. We decided to order several small plates to share & experience a variety of food. The rolls, Caesar salad, macaroni & cheese, desserts, drinks and potatoes were wonderful. I was so looking forward to the crispy rice with spicy tuna as I've had it at other places outside of Waco. It was bland & overcooked. Despite this, we felt like it was a good meal & a beautiful location. The lack of 5 stars is based on the speed at which we were rushed through the meal. With reservations and spending over $200. I expect more time to enjoy the experience. There was a server or bus boy at our table every few minutes clearing our table even trying to take plates with food on it. We will definitely come back to try more. I'm hopeful this was just a side effect of the service getting its sea legs.

Yelp
The Butchers Cellar is a beautiful reflection of the care and attention of the owners, Tiffany and Matt Fatheree. The decor is amazing and edgy, the bartenders are excellent, and the food we had was amazing. The 1000 layer potatoes are worth going to have them even if you don't get one of their perfectly-cooked steaks. Which we did! Good wine selection as well. Don't miss this place! We will be going back regularly.

Yelp
Fabulous all around! Loved the atmosphere, the service was great, and the food was delicious! It's brand new and they opened with a bang! That's hard to do with any new venture. I will be back! Congratulations to all that made this place happen!

Yelp
Well, well, well...where to start? Extremely high hopes for the restaurant and man what a let down. For starters we ordered the milk bread, oysters, shrimp cocktail, crudo, and the wagyu tacos. Bread was good but $12! Oysters?? They were out. The shrimp cocktail seriously lacked salt and seasoning in the poaching liquid and the "cocktail sauce" was very thick and strange. Crudo was NOT fresh, yuck. Wagyu tacos were boring. On to the entrees. My boys and I split the strip. Expensive, bland, and tough. Also, who puts "prime grade or higher" on the menu? Either it's prime, akaushi, or wagyu. Weird. My wife got the lobster Tagliolini. Tasted good but was a bit cold. Fries were decent. The Mac and cheese was a bit cold too. Lastly, I had two, double eagle rare 10 year. This is my go to. A double will range from $20-25. It was $88 for 2!!! That entire bottle retails for $35. The WHOLE BOTTLE. Then they had the gall to charge me $2 for the ice cube. Hahahaha that's a new low. Yes I should've asked the price but I didn't. This place has a long way to go if they're going to survive. They just opened so maybe they'll get it together. We *might* give it another try in a couple of months. I'll be reviewing the reviews. Follow Red Herring's lead. They are crushing it.

Yelp
Service and ambiance was great but the steak was not worth the price. The sides were delicious.

Yelp
My wife and another couple went on a Wednesday night. The other couple had eaten there before, but it was our first visit. The ambiance is upscale but in no way stuffy. Call it casual chic. We started with cocktails in the bar, which were excellent. The dinner menu emphasizes steak, but we all went with other choices. I had the lobster alla vodka pasta, which was very good. The spice level was noticeable but not overpowering. Our friends split the scallops entree. They said it was excellent, but were somewhat perturbed that there were only three scallops. My wife enjoyed the whole fish entree. The service was friendly and enthusiastic, but pacing was a bit off. Salads came right before the entrees. The manager made a point of soliciting feedback after our meal, which we appreciated. Bottom line: it wasn't perfect, but we enjoyed the experience and food and will definitely go back.

Yelp
My wife and I went for our anniversary. We arrived earlier than our reservation and checked in and I saw 'anniverary' next to our name at the reception desk. We went to the bar during "Happy Hour". The ambience was very upscale and pleasant. We had a cocktail each and asked the barmaid if she would like us to settle the bill before we went in for dinner. She said yes she'd like me to do that. The $38 tab for 2 drinks at Happy Hour I thought was a bit pricey. ( no nuts or snacky things ) We were seated in the dining room at a nice booth and were again impressed with the decor. We both had oysters and my wife ordered the lobster mac and I ordered the scallops. As I forked my first oyster the waiter brought the scallops to the table. Frankly I was shocked at the lack of timing and told her I was not ready for the entree. She took them back and after 10 mins or so (we'd finished the oysters) the manager brought my scallops and the lobster mac. The scallops were OK but not as tender as they would have been 15 mins ago when they first served them. ( it was the same plate ) The manager told me that if I had waited a few minutes longer they would not have been able to serve the same scallops to me! There were 4 scallops. My wife enjoyed her entree. We had a very nice bottle of wine at a very fair price. There was no mention or acknowledgement of the anniversary. This restaurant is expensive and I do not mind that if the fare and service are of a higher quality. This establishment did not meet high standards this day.

Yelp
Food was ok but "sharables" came in 3s. Not really sharable if you have a group of 4. All of it was too expensive for the quality. It's just regular steak and seafood. The waiters and waitresses were friendly though they forgot drinks a lot (sweet vs unsweet tea). Our table was fine but I would not like sitting outside a booth. Too loud.

Yelp
OH MY GOD!!! Everything was so delicious. Drinks included. Service was also above and bound will for sure becoming back time and time again.

Yelp
Atmosphere, service and appetizers were all very good, especially the bacon. Drinks were very small -- seemed like a half pour. My pork chop was awful -- at least half fat and with a very poor flavor.

Yelp
Wonderful food, atmosphere is great and the service is fantastic! Great place to celebrate any occasion.

Yelp
Service was wonderful, Sophia and Megan are killing it in the bar! Unfortunately I can't say the same for the food... my husband got food poisoning from what we believe was the bone marrow. Most starters were over salted and our bread was doused in butter; inedible. Disappointing as the bill reflected the esteem of the restaurant not the actual quality of the food. Looking forward to returning maybe on a less busy night.

Yelp
I was expecting a much more intimate and upscale atmosphere based on the menu. No privacy and large banquet style tables in the dining area. Food was just ok. My steak was extremely bland. No flavor. Almost dry. Shareable appetizers definitely not shareable. Portions too small. I asked for a dirty martini--all olive juice. Salad I shared was drenched in blue cheese dressing. Way too expensive. Do not recommend. Waco has much better options.
