London’s Best Thanksgiving Dinners for 2019 | Eater London

"Thanksgiving is one day only at The Cleveland Arms in Paddington, with a three-course set menu including an intriguing honey mustard sprout slaw with quail’s eggs, roasted turkey (duh) with caramelised apples (okay), and a pecan pie at dessert (fair enough). £30 per person sounds like good value."

London’s Best Fireplace Restaurants for Christmas 2018 | Eater London

"Paddington’s brightest star has a fire-warmed snug that feels very old fashioned, and a kitchen that’s anything but. Head chef Louis Lingwood is ex-Oldroyd, and the same kind of quiet confidence that’s in evidence over in N1 runs through the menu: think duck and chanterelle pappardelle, romanesco with red peppers and almonds, bavette in a verdant pool of garlic butter." - Emma Hughes

Having lived in London many years ago I was craving a proper Sunday Roast. This pub was around the corner from where we were staying and I booked a table from the reviews. It did not disappoint one of the best roasts I’ve had in London. The staff were soo friendly we came a few times for a drink during our stay and it just has such a great cosy atmosphere. If you’re in the area would definitely recommend!

Sunday Pork Roast at The Cleveland Arms – A Perfect Weekend Treat If you’re looking for a proper Sunday roast in a cozy, welcoming spot, The Cleveland Arms absolutely delivers. The pork roast is the star of the show – tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The crackling is perfectly crisp, just the way it should be, and the portion sizes are generous without being over the top. The roast comes with all the classic trimmings: crispy roast potatoes, seasonal veg, and a Yorkshire pudding that’s light and golden. The gravy ties it all together beautifully – rich, savory, and clearly made from scratch. What really elevates the experience, though, is the atmosphere. The Cleveland Arms strikes that perfect balance between relaxed and refined. It’s got that warm, local pub vibe with friendly staff and a buzz of conversation in the air. Whether you’re there with friends or just soaking up a quiet Sunday, it feels like the kind of place you’ll want to come back to. Highly recommend booking ahead – once you’ve had their roast, you’ll understand why it’s a local favorite.

This is everything a modern community pub should be. An eclectic mix of youngsters out for a drink, old boys out for a natter, families coming for dinner and couples spending quality time together. Downstairs dining area provides a quieter space for dining. The bar upstairs was very packed when we arrived, which made it time-consuming ordering a drink to consume.

Wow, where do I start!? This was my visit to the Cleveland Arms and most definitely not my last. The staff were all super friendly and even had a chat. The manager Jas couldn't do enough for us, and I noticed he was the same with other customers too. You could see how great the relationship was with a manager and his team. You don't see that very much these days, so it was pleasant to witness. I loved how the flowers in the vases were all fresh, don't see that very often. And the food.....I dont want to spoil it for anyone, but I never order Chicken Kiev when I eat out. However, you really must try this, and you won't be disappointed. We even managed a dessert, and the apple and blackberry crumble with custard, so Kudos to the chef, who I believe was called Julia. I absolutely can't wait to visit again because I am desperate to try out the roast dinner 😋 Thank you all for the excellent service 😀

Absolutely fantastic! Loved the atmosphere-a friendly & packed neighborhood pub where people bring their dogs. We ate downstairs and the 3 of us all had the chicken Kiev and it was piping hot and fantastic. Loved watching the kitchen - what a well oiled and efficient staff - so impressed. I never take pictures of my food - but I did that night - A+++

We stopped by for our first meal in London on a family trip. They were serving roast specials for Sunday dinner and it was the perfect introduction to the UK. Our server Ricardo was great with suggestions for everything from food to sightseeing. Would highly recommend and may go back again while we are in town this week to try the regular menu.

Lovely little neighborhood pub. Nice stripped back interior and chilled staff. For sure a winner. Sadly my photo was of the mews opposite.

Yelp
Had a beautiful dinner at Cleveland Arms last night. Would highly recommend it! Pan fried Seabream fillet: 10/10 - flavors were strong and complimented each other well. Yellow beet salad: 8/10 - delicious (if you like beets) and refreshing! Scotch eggs: 11/10 - I'm a big scotch egg fan and these were some of the best tasting ones I've ever had! Beef burger: 7/10 - burger was delicious and flavor full, but slightly over cooked. Sticky Toffee pudding: 1000/10 - most delicious one I've ever had! Green spring Risotto: 6/10 - my boyfriend said this tasted like a garden . It tasted great to me, but the texture was off. A bit overcooked for me. We also got Moscow mules and a cuba libre. Great drinks and service as well!

Yelp
Visited late on a Friday, close to kitchen-closing time. I ordered two vegetarian dishes (I'm not a vegetarian and don't usually go into bars/pubs expecting to be impressed with their vegetable offerings) and was pleasantly surprised. First, my risotto and charred cabbage dishes came almost instantaneously after I ordered them (did I mention the kitchen was just about to close?) but they were both at a perfect temperature and both tasted wonderful. I also had a coconut flavored panna cotta thing for dessert which was solid. In the midst of all of this I managed to finish off two cocktails which were fantastic. I find that pubs like these often "go through the motions" on cocktails but I think if you're going to present yourself as a new-age London pub nowadays you've got to have a serious bartender and these guys do. Only thing preventing this from being a perfect review? I ate in the back dining room which felt like being in a space capsule hurtling towards the sun in terms of temperature and lack of air. London isn't generally prepared for the kind of heat they were experiencing while I was there but I will unfortunately mostly remember how sweaty I was the whole time whenever I think back to this restaurant.

Yelp
Good selection of ales and spirits. Comfy neighborhood feel. The kitchen is only open on limited days so I can't recommend it for food.

Yelp
Believe the hype. Not your typical English Pub. Amazing food! The Steak with a side of Chips was recommended to us by the waitress and she didn't steer us wrong. The steak was cooked perfectly and the Anchovy Butter was soooo good! And the chips! Never tasted anything like them. Very very good.! The fish was yum as well. Wine selection was good and reasonably priced. Attentive and helpful wait staff. Super impressed!

Yelp
We came for Sunday roast. It was great. My party ordered the beef, pork, and chicken. Overall the portion size for the pork was less than I expected. But that is not a big issue. For Sunday night roast you may need to preorder. The roast comes with ample side dishes, one roast is a portion sized for an adult. It is possible for two people to share the roast beef, but I wouldn't suggest sharing the pork or chicken. The service was very good and the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. This is a great experience in London.

Yelp
Excellent service and cozy pub. Do not miss the smoked almonds and the hummus in the bar.

Yelp
This warm pub had a short menu but everything tasted great here and it was a really nice old world English atmosphere.

Yelp
I came for dinner on the recommendation of a friend's cousin who lives in London and was not disappointed. Perfectly rare flank steak in an anchovy butter sauce, zucchini two ways and a side of asparagus in a lemon butter sauce with a poached egg and Parmesan crisp.

Yelp
A hidden gem, not too frequented by only locals, good mix of patrons. Usual but decent draught selection, comfy back area; my watering hole now :)

Yelp
Great, welcoming pub in Paddington. My son and I just had a great meal there. Good food and a good beer selection. Very friendly staff and a great bartender. If I lived here, this would surely quickly become my neighborhood haunt.

Yelp
***Reopened! Brand new coat of paint and cleaned up. This old girl is back in action.

Yelp
Brilliant food! Lovely warm, welcoming atmosphere and drinks on the house if the food is taking slightly longer. Dog - friendly. Definitely commend it

Yelp
Wow! Simple menu, highest possible quality of execution. Beer menu is local (is fairly limited if you're from the US) but wine menu is nice and quality of the cooking more than compensates. Will definitely come here on my next trip!
