Cafe Clover Review - West Village - New York - The Infatuation

"If we get one more fresh, farm-sourced California-inspired restaurant, we’ll be in serious danger of attracting all the sun-seeking Benedict Arnolds back from San Francisco. But if Cafe Clover wants to stay a while, we certainly won’t mind. You see, they’ve somehow found a way to give off a warm, summer-y, homey vibe no matter how crowded it is or how much snow is dumping outside. Kind of like when you enter Mary’s Fish Camp and get a sudden urge to sail the sh*t out of Cape Cod. When you enter Cafe Clover, you can’t help but feel like you’re one of the pretty people who lunches on weekdays in Santa Monica. In an elegant, yet come-as-you-are kind of way. We won’t lie. The most accurate way to describe Cafe Clover’s menu is “chick food.” With “chick” being interchangeable with any term you have for humans of any gender who have an annual SoulCycle membership, attend Fashion Week events, and/or know every lyric on Michelle Branch’s break out album. All things we respect, but don’t necessarily dabble in. But next time we’re looking to prove to visiting parents that we’re operational adults, or even better, trying to show our new squeeze we know what spaghetti squash is, Cafe Clover will be on the list. It also has serious eating alone/meeting some fabulous folk at the bar potential. Just watch out for the models. They’re mean when they’re craving cauliflower steak. Food Rundown Sweet Potatoes There are several fresh-looking vegetable selections to kick off your meal, and they even offer a Westville market plate-style 3 for $22 option to share with the table. If you’re in for something cozy and flavorful, hit up these bad boys. Diver Scallops Perfectly pan-seared with a light ginger flavor to give ’em some kick. Celery Root Salad It has the texture of spaghetti squash, but the taste of a sassy vinaigrette. Chick. Food. On. Fleek. Octopus A La Planche These spicy and lightly sauced tentacles are the business. Organic Scottish Salmon We’re always disappointed when our Scottish salmon is served sans bagpipes. But the simplicity of this lighter dish makes up for it. Quinoa Tagliatelle Don’t let the word “quinoa” deter you. This dish is dangerously close to replacing Lupa’s carbonara on the top of our craving list. It’s light, but savory and flavorful. Pasture Raised Beef Burger This burger isn’t great, but if you’re in a beefy mood, this is a solid bet. It’s served on a sweet potato bun and comes with any side you want. Like always, we recommend adding cheddar. Halibut The fish itself melts in your mouth, while the vegetable and lentil accoutrements bring the party. Even halibut haters will be into this dish. Brussels Sprouts In theory, brussels sprouts roasted with jalapenos sounds genius. But in practice, they just toss them into the mix and hope for the best. We’d expect more flavor here, but instead, they’re just meh. Olive Oil Potato Purée Not only is its mini ceramic serving pot adorable, this side is a must-have. The portion isn’t huge, but the flavor is big enough to make you genuinely entertain the ultimate first world curiosity: where does Cafe Clover get their olive oil?" - Calais Zagarow

17 Spots to Sip Cocktails in the Los Angeles Area | Eater

"Buttermilk pancakes for brunch, street tacos for a late-afternoon bite, or perhaps a lobster roll for dinner? They all go better with the Meyer Lemon Drop at this Santa Monica spot with a killer patio that sits across from the Santa Monica Airport. Watch colorful vintage planes take off and land as you sip a mix of Grey Goose Essences Strawberry and Lemongrass, Meyer lemon juice, and simple syrup — served up with a sugar rim. The family-friendly venue extends its welcome to dogs, a perk for canines who need some rest after running around at the nearby dog park." - Vox Creative

Santa Monica Airport Hangout Offers Pizza, Burgers, and Up Close Views - Eater LA

"The Cloverfield, opening tomorrow for outdoor dining service at 5 p.m., is located across from the Santa Monica Airport in the former Spitfire Grill space. Known for thin-crust pizza, housemade pastas, burgers, steaks, salads, California craft beer, and cocktails, with Mary Thompson overseeing the beverage program and Alfred Salvatierra running the kitchen. Owned by Sean Martin, an Irish expat with a bar in London, the Cloverfield name is derived from the historical name of Santa Monica Airport, Clover Field. The venue offers nearly 100 outdoor patio seats, with future plans for indoor dining." - Farley Elliott

Google
High quality food in a cool location. Love the menu and the quality ingredients and definitely want to come back. Interestingly the pizza was fine but the hummus and the chicken sandwich really stole the show for us. The hummus had an amazing pita bread accompaniment that we will get everything. The fried chicken sandwich competes with some of the best we've had in LA.

Took mom for women’s day celebration, was busy with lots of family and kids. The hot chocolate is not too sweet which is really soothing. Order the house made soup, Chicken potpie and salmon burger. I really enjoyed the salmon burger, and the house made soup. Overall it’s a good weekend hang out location. The bartender is very sweet and welcoming.

Google
Always a good address to hang out at after a soccer game at the airport park field or just for a brunch with family and friends. They have a large outdoor patio (with heaters) as well as a nice and large indoor seating space. Menu wise, they do offer a good combination of dishes, although I suggest to start with their bread and dips, homemade bread and pizzas are their trademark. They do also offer a few brunch specials that worth it.

Cloverfield is one of my favorite spots to get lunch or dinner, even more so after getting a puppy as their large patio is dog friendly. Family atmosphere and great food.

Google
Was SUPER pleasantly surprised by this place. Firstly, great big patio with plenty of tables, lots of heaters so it was nice to dine outside even though it was chilly. Super fast and friendly service. The food was excellent. I read about the short rib bucatini on yelp and it did not disappoint. Pasta was cooked perfect al dente and the sauce was to die for. We also ordered their white shrimp ceviche, ahi tuna wontons, both of which were amazingly delicious and fresh, the tuna was excellent. We will definitely be coming back to The Cloverfield!

Google
Food: Got a chicken sandwhich and it was good! The chicken was crispy and really appreciated how they have options for how you like your fries- skinny, steak, wedge, and even sweet potato! Good veggie options too Parking: lots of free parking and convenient right next to the museum of flying Atmosphere: good brunch vibes, and family and dog friendly Appreciated how they calculated tip before tax :)

Google
A bit too pricy but good food Highly recommend the ahi tuna tacos The fish and chips needed more salt and another fish finger And the breakfast burrito was delicious but needed guacamole on the side and less onions inside (but that might be my preference)

Google
A cool outdoor vibe with a consistent ocean breeze. It feels like a little oasis in LA with tons of outdoor seating. Coffee or beers, this is a great place to unwind or a quick business meeting.

Yelp
I love it here, I love inside so much- all the color and pictures!! awh the feng shui is on point! Outside is perfect for a warm day, it's a nice area (even with being across from the airport) I normally come mid day for lunch and it's calm and peaceful. Service is lovely, coffee and bloody mary's are delicious, I love the fried chicken sandwich, fries are crispy, tomato basil soup that comes with the grilled cheese is heavenly and the burgers and juicy and flavorful!! 10/10 would recommend :)

Yelp
I used to really love The Cloverfield. It was a go to date spot and hangout whenever I was with a small group of people. the venue is intimate and the location is beautiful as you're just across from the santa monica airport dog park. However I recently went with a large group of people and had an awful experience. the service was inattentive and slow. Our party came in waves and everytime a new person came it would be at least 20-30 minutes before they got even water. Eventually we gave up on the idea of everyone having individual dishes and ordered as a table but then the food arrived in rounds that didnt make sense (entrees came before appetizers for the table, etc.) Would recommend for small gatherings or intimate parties, but was not a good option for a group event.

Yelp
This place felt average to me. I loved their hummus plate with pita bread. The pita is made from scratch is delightful. What I didn't enjoy from the French dip! The quality of meat was pretty poor and the au jus was flavorless. I would probably go back just to have the hummus though. Parking is free and so easy! Love that about The Cloverfield!

Yelp
Great place for get together specially on week-end. The mushroom pizza is my favorite but they only serve it after 5:00 pm. The service is good and the "Happy Hour" drinks are superb.

Yelp
I now have a new spot to take friends visiting from out of town, for a date night, or to share a meal with a large party (10-16). Dog friendly! Right next to the Santa Monica Airport which you'd never know since it feels like you're in your own little tucked away backyard. Great location, plenty of free parking in the back or on the street. I love their outdoor seating, small to large tables for couples, friends, or family gathering. Noticed a more intimate outdoor patio for private parties. They also have plenty of indoor seating and a bar. Made a reservation just in case, but it really didn't start getting busy until 7pm for a Friday night. Service was decent, but nothing stood out with that. The Agave Pina was strong on the mezcal and didn't really taste the pineapple, so wasn't a personal fav. The Margherita pizza did the trick as a pairing for the pasta dish but standard personal size that's shareable for 2. The bucatini really stole the show! Fresh noodles, amazing flavor, came out hot and was delicious. Definitely want to come back and try their brunch and more dishes!

Yelp
This place is hidden gem. I came here for brunch and it was delightful. We walked in and got seated right away on the super cute patio. I ordered the fried egg sandwich. The sandwich is a good size that is precut in half for you. I really appreciated that they included 2 eggs that were split between both halves instead of just 1 egg. The eggs were perfectly runny and the bacon was crisped to perfection. This might have to be my new go-to brunch spot.

Yelp
Came here with my coworkers for a lunch out, and the patio is beautiful, its across from a field and by the airport. A lot of outdoor seating option and they also have heaters as well as needed. Went for brunch, the parking is shared with the airport parking, and the dining part of the parking is always filled as it seem, so do come earlier. there is also street parking available. the waiters are super sweet, the place is clean, and the food is delicious! I do think that the salad was a bit more bitter than anticipated and less fresh (I am a salad person if i should say, not that I am a pro, but i can tell when they're fresh or not) and I guess that was the differ point to that 1 star take off since that is a side option for all the main dishes - which you'd hope compliments the dish rather than ick otherwise i got the french dip sandwich which comes with a dip, and is delicious and the fries seems great. have bottomless refill on sodas other coworkers also rated their food delicious but the salad seemingly is the most untouched item among the table. restroom is clean, and food came out on a timely manner. what else can i ask for!

Yelp
Great local spot adjacent to the Santa Monica Airport. I really don't think anyone would know about this except for locals which gives it extra charm. They offer cute indoor dining but we found the outdoor area to be exceptional especially during sunsets. There's something about seeing everyone with their sunglasses and the amber hues of the sunset across their faces. You couldn't ask for friendlier servers. Our guy was super chill. It is Santa Monica after all! Great assortment of food choices on the menu from pasta, salads, and sandwiches. We of course went with their famous fried chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. Every bite was delicious and yes I will be back! Prices are super reasonable so they get another star for that!

Yelp
Steak Frites. Ribeye with a delicious peppercorn sauce and skinny fries. Finished with a Cappuccino. And fabulous service!

Yelp
Met my cousins for lunch last Wednesday, 3 of the 4 of us had never been..Great little spot if you find yourselves by the SM airport, open at noon, a great outside area, large enough to accommodate large parties as well..Their menu while sparse has enough of the items you love..Speaking for myself, I had the cheeseburger, it was very good, everyone seems happy with their order..I'll close out by saying, the restaurant is clean, has a bar, staff is friendly & helpful.. All n all a 4 out of 5 stars..

Yelp
What a super cool spot. Indoor Outdoor seating, dog friendly casual dining. All of the wait staff friendly and engaging, service with a smile. We had the burgers and they were great, the star of the show were the crispy fries OMG so good. Great salad choices as well. To me this is a if you know you know spot, so go find out for yourself.....

Yelp
I had the salmon with vegetables and quinoa salad. Perfection! The service, ambiance, and food were very good. Charming outdoor seating.

Yelp
Really nice restaurant with lots of dog friendly patio seating, located next to Santa Monica airport. Trendy, nice ambiance, good food. Host led us to our table, dog biscuits in hand. Our dogs didn't get into the biscuits, but it was a very nice touch to make them feel welcomed. Food was the French dip sandwich and skinny fries. Delicious! Drinks: craft beer and a purple gin and tonic. No complaints with drinks. Our server was a little off. She forgot we asked for another napkin and extra aioli sauce, and commented a few times about how busy she was. Everyone else was super accommodating and nice. Overall, a good spot for lunch.

Yelp
Cute and trendy little restaurant next to the Santa Monica airport with both indoor and outdoor seating. Came here for a dinner. The food was good and so were the vibes. To start i had the Spicy Tuna Tostadas which consisted of Raw ahi tuna, mashed avocado, watermelon radish, pickled jalapeno, togarashi aioli, ginger-soy - delicious and light appetizer. It was perfect. For the main course I had the Jumbo Shrimp Linguine which had fresh linguine, mexican wild shrimp, parsley, fresno chile, capers, white wine cream sauce. Too many capers for my liking, but was still pretty good. For dessert i enjoyed the basque style cheesecake - delish! Good and efficient service considering it was a large party.

Yelp
Had a great brunch/lunch today. So glad they were open, despite the nearby fires. We sat inside and had fabulous service from a very nice waiter. The booths inside are comfy and the music sets a great vibe. The tomato basil soup comes with a very generous half of a grilled cheese for the perfect comfort food. The pancakes are three big ones and come with fresh blueberries, maple syrup and some other delicious sauce I wish I could swim in. Also, their earl gray tea is yummy. Loose leaf served in a cut little pot. Please go and keep them working during the fires!

Yelp
Getting to the heart of it -- nice outdoor atmosphere, tasty dishes, good and friendly service. Customers also seemed nice. "It's a go!" as they say at Mission Control (at least they do in the movies. Getting to the spleen of it: A lazy Saturday. It was going on day two of a serious disagreement with my girlfriend, and the fact that we live 3,000 miles apart wasn't helping. Maybe you've been there, maybe you haven't but when i woke up the day had me wondering if my next JetBlue flight to NY was just to have me pack up the clothes and toiletries I keep at her place (which allows me to go to NY only having to pack is my computer and my dog). [To be clear, my computer goes in a backpack, my dog goes in an FAA approved carrier under the seat in front of me.] So, it was one of those days. Now, before I tell you how good the breakfast burrito is, and it is very good -- but the standout is the pico de gallo on the side -- I need to explain how I arrived here, because the Cloverfield was not on the agenda. So, if you remember, I'm kind of in a blue mood and one thing that cheers me up is watching all 9.8 pounds of Edward von Chocula living it up at the dog park. But, my dog, Eddie, hates the car. I'm not sure why, but he's hated the car since he was 6 months old when I got him from the rescue (Life Animal Rescue in Agoura Hills). As soon as he gets in he drools and shakes. Thing is, I really wanted to take him to the Santa Monica Airport Dog Park (and yes, I have a permit), but living 3 miles away means getting in the car. So it's kind of a "catch-22" so to speak. But, dammit, I wanted Eddie to run around and have a good time even if it killed him and I loaded him in the car. [Note: There's probably a Kristi Noam joke somewhere in there, but I detest her too much to even try.] Funny enough Eddie actually did OK in the car. Sure, a little nervous, but no drool, no serious shaking... he was actually doing ok. And once we arrived at the park he was in heaven. And after about an hour Eddie was done. And I was getting hungry. We took a circuitous route back to the car, which is how we ended up in front of The Cloverfield. The Cloverfield has a very dog friendly well shaded outdoor eating area... two of them, actually. Now, Eddie is a skittish dog, and the few times I've tried to have him sit with me at a restaurant have not gone well. He shakes and just wants to go home, I get frustrated and then he and I don't talk for days. [That was a joke. My dog does not actually talk... at least not to me.] But there was something in the air this morning. I looked at Eddie, he looked at me and we both decided it was time to give it a try. I was greeted by a friendly host and was seated on the front patio. The server brought over a bottle of water, as well as a glass for me and (without me asking) a bowl for Eddie. And after a minute or two of restlessness, Eddie went under the table and just hung out. The menu has a really nice selection of breakfast and lunch items. As I revealed above, I had the breakfast burrito. Now, to be honest, I would probably give the burrito on its own just 3 out of 5 stars, but the pico de gallo elevated the gastronomic experience by at least three-quarters to one star. The coffee was solid. Not great, but certainly hit the spot. The service manager checked in on me to see if I needed anything else, but all was good. And then it was time to go. I had only eaten 1/2 of the burrito and decided to take the other half home. And this was the only weird thing. I asked the server for a sheet of aluminum foil to wrap the burrito and she told me, "I can bring you a box." Not liking the waste of having a box when I didn't need it, I said,"that's ok, some foil would be fine," but she said (with just the slightest hint of attitude) "I can bring you a box." It was just a bit off. Maybe she gets to keep any unused foil and uses it for science experiments or to color her friends' hair. Maybe the restaurant has a no foil policy. Maybe she was secretly jealous because Edward von Chocula is such a cool dog and she knew if she asked if she could take him home I would have said, in a slightly snarky tone, "I can bring you a box." (It sounded funnier in my head.) Otherwise, a really nice day. I'm going back to the dog park tomorrow, so maybe another meal is in the cards. And maybe I can get to the bottom of what I call "Foil-gate." And maybe this time I'll say "yes," when they ask if I want more pico de gallo. Oh, and the girlfriend? We'll figure it out, long distance being a drag and all. But I am confident if you see me and Eddie enjoying a meal at The Cloverfield and you ask, "How goes it with Whitney?" I'll smile and say, "Smooth sailing."

Yelp
We love coming here with our dog! The food is pretty solid, there is ample parking, and the service is friendly. We like the prime rib and the Asian chicken salad.

Yelp
Spacious restaurant with outdoor patio seating located by the Santa Monica College. Indoor seating is also available. Free parking available in the back. Credit cards accepted. The menu is varied and they have an extensive drinks menu. I had the spicy tuna tostadas which were on the smaller side; note that it's a paste rather than actual chunks of fish. Also had the diavola pizza, which was decent. They do accept reservations which we needed as we were a group of 8. The restaurant is good for big groups and it is dog-friendly.

Yelp
Overall, just another pricy brunch spot. Though the ambiance was pleasant and the food pretty decent, there's really nothing to write home about regarding my visit at The Cloverfield. I ordered the avocado toast while my boyfriend ordered his usual brunch go-to: the breakfast burrito. Both of which were, again, decent. The pickled tomatoes were a unique addition to the toast and added brightness to an otherwise mild-tasting dish. And, it was nice of them to include chips with the burrito. To be honest, I wouldn't say the flavor nor portion size of these dishes warrants the whopping $16 and $18 price tag. On top of that, the service left something to be desired as our food took a while to arrive and our water bottle seldom filled. Probably wouldn't be back? But the restaurant's ambiance fostered a nice environment to catch up with loved ones.

Yelp
A meal so great I forgot to take a photo First off I love the wide range of outdoor seating options. The world needs more of that. Our server - I think his name was Elliot was super thoughtful and informed on the food options. I love that that have both thick and thin fries. I don't like thick fries but I'm glad those who do get the option The bread for the humas - so damn delicious can I get a pizza on that? Also where I tend to prefer spicy chicken - the basic chicken sandwich was top notch. You could really take the various ingredients and the crisp was just right Can't wait to get back here some time - perhaps a spot to take my kids?

Yelp
My family and I ended up at The Cloverfield after we had been out all day. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed our food at The Cloverfield. I got the black bean burger and my sister got the bucatini. We both enjoyed our food and our waiter was also helpful and friendly. The indoor seating area was aesthetically pleasing as well as the outdoor area also. The only con I would mention would be for them to add more vegan options on the menu as they only had the 1 black bean burger. Other than that, I'd definitely revisit this restaurant in the future!

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. Quickly becoming my favourite go to restaurant. No pretence, super down to earth, I find you can pretty much come here at any time of day and they will be super accommodating and try to get you seated. Easy parking too. It helps that the restaurant is huge! Super kid and dog friendly. Great for large parties and quick dates. Food is excellent too, chicken sandwich is fantastic and I love the triple cooked chips. Fish and chips and the salads were pretty good too. Great beer and drink selection. Truly can't say enough positive things about this place. It really just ticks all the boxes of making going out to eat with your family manageable and pleasant.

Yelp
We sat outside - the patio is beautiful on a great weather day! Came for a Sunday brunch, definitely recommend having a reservation because they were quite busy. The service was great, though they did miss one of our items, it was easily taken off our final bill. The food we did get was great, look forward to returning.

Yelp
If you're like me, you've driven past The Cloverfield many times, always thinking that you need to go there someday. Well, this is your sign - go to The Cloverfield next to the Santa Monica Airport, just off Centinela! Seating & Parking: They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options, with great atmosphere at both. We made a reservation off the Resy app. They have a parking lot right behind the restaurant. Staff: The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful! Thank you to Carlos for the extras special hospitality. Drinks: They have a great wine menu. The wine we all loved the most was So Fresh by Stolpman, 'Love You Bunches', Slightly Fizzy, Chilled Carbonic Sangiovese from Santa Barbara, 2020 vintage ($47) @stolpmanvineyards Food: They have different menus for brunch, lunch, happy hour, & dinner. From the dinner menu, I recommend the Blackened Salmon ($30) with parsnip puree, olive-caper gremolata, charred lemon, & pea shoots.

Yelp
Santa Monica airport is an iconic spot that used to be hard to justify a visit too unless you were going to an art show/outdoor cinema, the dog park or museum but no longer because The Cloverfield is worth a pop in all on its own. Adjacent to the soccer fields, this alfresco restaurant received a nice facelift from its past as Typhoon and has a lot of outdoor seating. We've been fortunate to be able to drop in but it does get busy! I've been for brunch & dinner now. The service is friendly and fairly quick. It is a dog friendly patio which is always a plus in my book and it's still pretty affordable by LA standards which is a welcome relief!
google avatar

Katherine L.

Yelp
Dog friendly with their outdoor porch! Very friendly staff as well and accommodated our multiple request in changing tables, lowering the umbrella to avoid the sun, etc. Sorry we were difficult! I had a chance to try both the cacio e pepe and the bucatini. Though the plate looked a bit smaller, the sauce was very rich and therefore making the dish very filling. Wasn't too salty or oily, which I appreciated. Their chocolate brownie with the ice cream is a must get! We had the churro ice cream and it complemented the chocolate flavor well.

Yelp
The Cloverfield is a much needed gem in the heart of the southern portion of the Westside. There is indoor and outdoor picnic and regular table style seating but why anyone would opt for inside is beyond me. The patio seating vibe is what brings me back. If you don't want to gussy up but still want to feel like you e had a night out go to the Cloverfield! The gracious sized patio is surrounded by patio style strand lighting and towers of fire to take the chill off. You can feel the weeks anxiety melt away when you step inside. We ordered fish and chips, A veggie burger and the pasta with short ribs with the hummus appetizer. Everyone in my group seemed happy but I only tasted the hummus , fish and pasta do I'll only talk about those. The hummus is very good but what makes the fish is the bread that it's served with / yum!!!! The fish and chips is cooked perfectly with an exceptionally crunchy batter. I found the tartar sauce lacking but no worries- I prefer to dunk mine in a pool of cider vinegar anyway. The pasta was also tasty but very rich so be aware. We drank an old fashioned, a gin and tonic and a gin and juice which I had never had before and will now be a go to for me. A wonderful chill vibe and quintessentially what is good about southern CA. If you haven't been and you're looking for a full bar but mellow enchantment , give this place a go. You'll thank me.

Yelp
A nice place for a large amount of good food but with a limited menu of various ethnic foods going from Mexican nachos to Italian pasta with chopped up ribeye. A large selection of craft tap beers & a modest wine list. The service is fast, friendly & knowledgeable. Not much for ambiance in either the indoor or outdoor seating but cozy enough. Very close to Santa Monica airport.

Yelp
My new favorite place when I have money to burn. This place gets 5 stars for the Bucatini alone (spaghetti and mushrooms is a savory short rib ragu). Add to that a refreshingly light Asian chicken salad and a selection of mocktails (non-alcoholic cocktails) and non alcoholic beers and it's even better. Here are some things that stood out to me. You can eat outside on an actual dirt floor. With the trees, sky, and actual terra firma, one feels really connected to nature. Also, the staff is actually really friendly and hardworking. In between serving patrons I saw them constantly wiping down tables and chairs. There are other nice touches too like French glassware. The place is kid and dog friendly. They have modern tech for paying your check. Overall, the place seemed expensive but somehow it was still a good value. It's a great place for either date night or a casual lunch. I worry it won't last. Good things usually don't.

Yelp
Food was mediocre. It was a convenient choice since I was just down the street. I got the french dip, and it was not good. Easy parking in the back. Nice to be able to sit outside. However, I won't return.

Yelp
"Cloverfield: The 100 degree day" It was the hottest day in West LA. A heat advisory was in effect, but that didn't stop us from trying out Cloverfield. Despite the heat, the service couldn't be beat. The staff was attentive and gave great recommendations even though we didn't know what steak fries were... (they come with the BLT...) The pancakes were delightful mounds of heaven, the BLT was stacked with bacon so high it could barely fit in my mouth (and I have a big mouth), while the house chicken salad was...dry (but maybe that's because SOMEBODY ordered dressing on the side). Either way none of that mattered as the heat turned things for the worse (or better?). I looked up and eventually it was just me and two glazed donuts at the table. The 100 degree temperature won. I had to keep asking for water so see if I could save my friends. And then one of them was like "I think I need salt". And believe it or not, there was salt on the table. And that's the story of how this place got 4/5! The salt made everything both salty and sweet. A+++ will glaze again. Protip: there's a flea market at the airport on Sundays! Stop by here before or after and make a trip of it.

Yelp
Great spacious outdoor patio space, with lots of heaters and dog water bowls. Convenient free parking lot. The back patio has interesting chairs that look like kids classroom chairs? But it's a beautiful space with string lights and quiet atmosphere for catching up. Shared the bucatini, baked mac n cheese, ceviche, guacamole, and brownie with vanilla ice cream as a party of 2 and it was plenty of food. I would recommend and planning to come back for brunch.

Yelp
Vibe is good - great spot for weekend brunch with kiddos and/or pets. Food is okay. Cannot comment on drinks.

Yelp
I've been to The Cloverfield a few times now. The patio has a very relaxed and fun atmosphere. The servers are really nice, and the restaurant is very dog and kid friendly. As the restaurant is close to the ocean, there's often a cold foggy, marine layer engulfing the area, but it's easy to stay warm outside under the heat lamps. Everything I've had at The Cloverfield has been pretty solid. My favorites thus far are the cheeseburger and the triple cooked 7 minute chips. I also loved the agave pina (mezcal verde 'momento', housemade pineapple syrup, fresh lime juice, dried pineapple 'flower')... that dried pineapple flower is simply beautiful and delicious!

Yelp
I happened upon this place on a rainy night. It was charming looking. I took more pictures but I don't know where they are right now I will add them if I can find them. For now only a few. It was a spontaneous stop so I was grateful they had room for me. This is right by a small airport which is really interesting and I think this place has been called different names before I hadn't seen this name on the building. They did a great job of decorating it's very charming and welcoming. It was getting crowded but they made room for me. The manager, she is very nice. I ordered the IPA and I asked for a sample because I'm pretty particular about my IPA's. The little glass that you see in my pictures was the sample glass I love the glass it's so cool and the IPA was good so I ordered one. I also ordered the cheeseburger (it's actually just called the Cloverfield Burger but it has cheese) and has everything else you would want on it, it was very good. The coffee was good as well I would definitely come back here. If my review isn't enough information here is wonderful informative piece by a professional https://www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2022/may/pilot/destinations-the-cloverfield

Yelp
What a cute restaurant! It's not so small actually and has a sizable patio dining area. It took us no time at all get seated and a server was with is asking for drinks within minutes. I picked the TUNA TOSTADA from the appetizer part of the menu and the server immediately tried to show me with her hands the "actual size" of the tostadas and because I only walked in because of a group of hungry coworkers, I said "that's ok". And yet, I was still surprised by how small those tuna tostadas were: they were more like tostitos! They tasted great though and everyone on the table said they enjoyed their meals. They have a free parking lot next to the building. Convenient. Especially since we're in Santa Monica! And... by the way, this place is across the street from Santa Monica Airport.

Yelp
Came here for my company's holiday party and The Cloverfield put on a show!Kudos to the staff for making it a welcoming and worthwhile experience that was totally worth it. ood wise, everything tasted amazing. I loved the steak frites but the little tostada shrimp tacos were amazing. Also, the bartenders know how to make a strong margarita. The restaurant is huge and I wish we were able to experience more of the space. I'm definitely looking to come back and explore the menu a little more, while taking in the atmosphere that The Cloverfield has to offer. Thank you!

Yelp
Definitely a great location/setting but welcome/service is not so friendly or professional. The menu is basic but no-one in the kitchen seems to have passion. 3rd time disappointed.

Yelp
This is a fun classy place but not too classy that you can't take a tinder date there and wow them(; as a connoisseur of great drinks this place has truly solid ones!

Yelp
Great spot for girls night out! We came here on a weekday and had a blast. The service was excellent and the outdoor seating area is very specious. Very chill and relaxing atmosphere. No loud music so we were able to hear each other while talking. They have plenty of parking in the back. They also have indoor seating area but I much rather seat outside! Such a great vibe. Will be back again!

Yelp
Just don't you eat like your in middle school with the chairs it's more expensive than what you get no reason for those expensive prices and you can get it some where else steak is mid tbh for the price it's not what you want

Yelp
Enjoyed drinks and a very pleasant tiramisu dessert that wasn't overly sweet at all. It did not have the alcohol I'm used to but it was still really good. Will definitely be back for a dinner.

Yelp
Aron the manager is 5 stars , he went above and beyond to help me on a busy Friday early evening . I give Aron 10 stars x infinity . Sincerely, Suzy Houghton

Yelp
I think the aesthetic is nice and decent for eating outdoors with people. The servers were nice too. I would just say that the food was alright the best were the sides instead of the main dishes like the steak cut fries were delicious...the fried chicken sandwich was indifferent. Maybe their dinner is better? I would come back to try it.

Yelp
Not gonna lie... this was not a good time. The service was okay and the food really sucked. No reflection on the employees. Everyone did the best with what they had. When you get ahi tuna for a tuna tostada; you expect cubed fresh tuna and not tuna from a can. The French dip and fish and chips were beyond bland. The old fashioned was watered down and the gin and tonic was a goblet full of tonic with a whisper of gin. For two drinks, two mains, and an appetizer to come to $120+ you're better off buying groceries for the week. Gin collection was cool though so they get an extra star for that.
