The Best Restaurants in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf for Non-Tourists | Eater SF

"England-born Suzanne Acevedo knows her way around a fryer. She founded this humble trailer in 2011 because she missed the fish ‘n’ chips from her homeland. Now she’s serving some of the best food on the Wharf, and some of the best fish tacos in San Francisco. Note that she doesn’t take reservations or orders by phone; online ordering is the only way to plan ahead for pickup." - Eater Staff

Google
SO YUMMY! Fresh fish, crispy fries, super good sauce, and prices aren’t bad. A great food truck spot too. Staff is so friendly!

Amir

Google
Every item we ordered was great. The fish and chips were very different from what you typically get at a bar, crispy and flavorful. The fried shrimp and calamari were cooked to perfection and jumbo in size. We loved everything about it, including the atmosphere.

Google
Fantastic Fish & Chips. My wife had found this place after doing some research online and we didn’t regret going there for lunch. From the humorous tone of the place, to the tasty food, this “food truck” really delivered. I highly recommend!

Google
I googled “best fish & chips in SF” and this place was highly recommended on Reddit! I can see why because the fish was delicious! Fries were okay , clam chowder was good but not the best, but overall the fried fish was delicious! It is a food truck with tables, so more of a laid back environment

Google
On our first trip to San Francisco, we came across this hidden gem by accident. The fish and chips are incredibly wonderful and cooked to perfection, and the fish tacos are also a 10/10. If you are visiting San Francisco or exploring Fisherman’s Wharf, I highly recommend this establishment.

Google
Everything was made to order. The Fish was fresh and the Tempura style batter deliciously crispy. I was in SF from Scotland and have ate plenty of Fish & Chips at home and during my trip and this was definitely the standout of all the places I tried in SF. I can not understand some of the other reviews about blandness. It's battered Fish & Chips folks.. and excellent at that. Portion Sizes excellent with plenty of fresh and crispy fries. EDIT: I returned to SF again in April this year and happy to report the quality of the food and everything is still Perfect!!!

Google
Excellent! What a pleasant surprise to find some quality fish and chips. Nice, hot and flaky. Just like it should be. The guy that took my order was super kind and gave me a few extra shrimp with my initial order. I would definitely come here again and if you haven't visited, make sure you do and tell them David W sent you.

Google
One of the more crowded restaurant in the area. Fish is freshly prepared only after the order is made. Fries at also good and comes hot and crispy with the fish. Order takes about 5-7 minutes to be ready but it’s worth the wait. Small area to dine in and a few tables outside also.

Yelp
Got hungry and needed a snack down in SF Fisherman's Wharf area. Found Codmother Fish & Chips close by and ordered their plate of fried Calamari. WOW! big plate and fresh from the fryer. It took a little while for them to make this but not overly long wait. This made us think it was freshly prepared. Plate came with lemons and a very nice dipping sauce. This is basically a permanent food truck with fenced in seating area and some extra tables on the sidewalk. Clean and comfortable with outdoor umbrellas to protect you from the weather. I was eyeballing another customer who ordered the Fish and Chips and it looked fantastic! Next time!! Worth trying this establishment. Enjoy!!

Yelp
This is a good truck with amazing food. Portion are not so big and it's quite expensive considering it's a food truck. The combo which had 2 fish and chips and 4 shrimps costed $20+ taxes. Service is slow but they have decent seating arrangement with covered seating . Place worth to visit .... It's in downtown so yes parking is tough

Yelp
Brit here, the is a 3 out of 5 rated against the best fish and chips I've had in England from a chippy being a 5. I suspect the chips are double cooked, good chips but not authentic. The batter is not crispy enough, too smooth. I would return but will continue my US search for authenticity.

Yelp
I came across this spot on TikTok while hunting for a new place to get quality fish and chips. The setup is a food truck, and they've got their operation down to a science. The wait in line wasn't long, though it did take a bit of time for the food to be prepared. Once we ordered, we had to navigate the seating situation. The outdoor seating area is small--maybe enough for 5-7 parties at most. It wasn't too bad when we went, but I can see it being an issue on busy days or during bad weather. As for the food: huge portions. If you're looking for value, this place delivers. However, the flavors didn't quite hit the mark. I ordered the calamari, and the breading lacked seasoning. My cousin got the fish and chips with shrimp, and it was similarly bland. Even a generous splash of malt vinegar couldn't completely save the dish. Would I recommend it? Maybe, if you're already in the area and craving fish and chips. But I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Yelp
Came to fisherman's wharf and saw this as the top place to eat at on Yelp around there. For me it's 3.5 stars. HUGE PORTIONS! I like that. Service is good, place is clean. Came on a weekend, didn't have to wait. Everything is well-fried and crispy. However, there is no seasoning on the meat itself nor the batter. Overall, it is very plain tasting. I don't think the tartar sauce is enough to make up for the lack of flavor. The fish tacos are okay. They at least have some sort of cumin crema on top, which helped a bit.
google avatar

Chris J.

Yelp
I came here with 3 people and our average rating was 3.5 We collectively got 1 combo, 2 bowls of chowder, 1 order of calamari , and 1 fish and chips. The chowder was good but very buttery and pretty thin for a chowder. The fried fish were large and HOT, they unfortunately didn't have any seasoning. I will say, the best part was probably the fried shrimp. Super friendly guys at the window to take your order and I have to respect the food truck game. I'm not exactly sure how it stacks up against the rest of the fried seafood stands in the area but could be worth a shot

Yelp
It was a cold day and I was craving clam chowder in a sourdough bowl but I also wanted some fish and chips ! Luckily my boyfriend and I share everything because we are foodies and it was definitely worth it . This establishment is a permanent food truck with outside seating , no restrooms but there is restrooms close by near the end of the pier . The food took about 15 minutes to come out but it was delicious !!! Our fish and chips were super golden and crispy and flavorful . Our garlic fries had the perfect golden crisp and the perfect amount Of Garlic !! We are garlic lovers , so this made me do my little hum song and dance while we ate the food . The clam chowder was also very delicious and the bread was so warm and fresh . I definitely recommend you try them out ! They usually have a wave of people that come and go . But definitely worth it and the prices of very reasonable.

Yelp
We got the clam chowder and fish tacos. The clam chowder was so yummy!! The fish tacos could've used more seasoning but it was still good. The portions were great. The guy taking our order was friendly, and it wasn't busy on a Monday afternoon.
google avatar

Yelp
My husband and I wanted to walk the pier but decided to fuel up before. This is a straight shot down from Hyatt. It took about 15 minutes on what appeared to be an average day. It's first come first serve. Wasn't the best fish n chips or clam chowder, but we appreciated that it didn't wreak of seafood (despite it being a seafood place). It's almost like a food truck stand with some tables outside so it's first come first serve with street parking.

Yelp
I'm from the East Coast, so we eat a lot of seafood there. I'd like to consider myself a fish and chips connoisseur as it's my go-to seafood dish. Me and my girlfriend were recently in San Francisco and were looking for restaurants around the Fisherman's Wharf area and we came across "The Codmother Fish and Chips". We saw it had excellent reviews and that it also was a food truck! (As a side note, I think food trucks are almost always a great choice when it comes to a good choice of food). So we thought I'd give it a try. To begin with, there are probably around 10 picnic benches. So seating is fairly limited. The menu is very small as well, as they only have a few options for fried seafood but that's not a bad thing. A small menu is good. They do however have an option to twist up your fries with garlic and cheese (they have 3 levels of garlic flavor). To order, you just go up to the window and order. Very simple. The person working the window when we were there was also very nice. What did we get? Well, both of us got fish and chips. Except with my fries, I upgraded them to the second level of garlic flavor. The food came out in a reasonable time. Probs 20-25 mins or so, so not bad service. The fries for sure on the garlicky side, lol! But they were tasty and delish! The reason I rated 4-stars was because me and my girlfriend thought the fish and chip batter was very bland. A lot of restaurants add some seasoning to make their batter taste better. We did however think the tartar sauce was very delish so it compensated for the lack of flavor with the fish. Although, sometimes you just want a bite without tartar. To sum this review up, I do think there are better fish and chip places out there. If you're looking for a classic, fun food truck dinner night out when in San Francisco in the Fisherman's Wharf, then I definitely suggest you give "The Codmother Fish and Chips" a try. Personally though, if I find myself back in the San Francisco, Fisherman's Wharf area, I will find another restaurant as I like to try new places and I thought the fish was mediocre.

Yelp
Excellent! Ordered the combo (fish and shrimp) and the calamari and fries. Everything was perfectly cooked and wrapped well to go, resulting in it being piping hot when we got back to our hotel. They are serious about keeping your receipt to pick up your order. While everything was great, the fish and chips are of course the highlight, so I might forgo the shrimp next time.

Yelp
We enjoyed eating at Codmother Fish & Chips. We were looking for clam chowder in bread bowl and saw they were serving it. The clam chowder and fried calamari were decent but what they really shined in was with fish and chips with shrimps. Loved the light, crunchy breading and how big and juicy the fish was. We saw on the review people saying you need salt but we enjoyed it with vinegar and their tartar sauce. The fried shrimps were tasty with their cocktail sauce. The place was very clean and well covered. Service and quick and friendly.
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
Everything I wanted this to be, it was!!! Absolutely loved this place down to the name. Delicious and fresh. Cooked perfectly with generous servings. I had the calamari and was going to just eat a few bites, mostly cause I was still full from breakfast elsewhere, but they were so tasty, I ate almost the entire thing. Oops Then I had to sample my hubs fish and chips combo. Also yummy! I'm so happy I suffered a stuffed tummy to try this joint, I'd recommend it to all.

Yelp
TLDR: It's the most reliable fish and chip store. I've tried this place at various times in a more than 5 year span and it has always been good. Can and will always recommend. Fish: Batter isn't too thick, and the fish has a flaky solid bite. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside with seasoning that won't overpower the mouth. Shrimp: The same solid battering with the same seasoning profile. Shrimp was not overcooked and it provides a different texture compared to the fish. Fries: Fries are fries. It's nothing special, but they didn't mess it up. Clam Chowder: Rich, creamy, loaded with seafood, and it can surprisingly compete with the better clam chowders around town. Service: It's a food truck. You order, you pay, and you get your food. It's not hard to mess it up. Ambiance: The picnic benches under the umbrellas around the truck isn't bad given the San Francisco climate. The tables are sometimes sticky though because they're probably not wiped as much.

Yelp
This place is SO good! Our favorite fish and chips and we tried many in the area. The chowder bowl is amazing also. Counter service with picnic seating and most of it is covered. Definitely 5 stars!!!
google avatar

Christine F.

Yelp
Ordered the combo with fish, shrimp, and fries. It really hit the spot. Everything was well-fried. Tartar sauce was good. It provided much needed flavor because everything needed more seasoning. The clam chowder was watery, but it had good chunks of clams and veggies in it. I would likely come back but look to other places to try first.
google avatar

Yelp
We tried this place on our first day in the city and on our last. Freshly made seafood out of a small but mighty trailer. Outdoor tables w/condiments & umbrellas. The calamari, clam chowder, fish 'n chips, shrimp and dipping sauce... delicious! The guy taking our order was friendly and the staff was attentive keeping the tables clean. Only cons, they're in San Francisco and I'm in LA.
google avatar

Mike G.

Yelp
Solid little just a short distance from Fisherman's Wharf. I stopped here with some friends on a Saturday afternoon - while it was busy there were plenty of seats and food was served quickly. The fish tacos were delicious and fresh. Probably the best meal I had during my quick trip to San Francisco.

Yelp
While visiting San Francisco and missing Friday fish fry (being a Wisconsin native) Friday Fish Fry's are deep in my blood!! We searched the local establishments for fish, Codmother came up quite often in our searches. We figured with all that chatter, there had to be something about it. Making our way to the warf, (which strangely reminded us of Wisconsin Dells downtown, in a way...) we found Codmother. We placed our order at the window with a friendly helpful staff member. We got there just in time as the case may be. Just as we stay at the picnic table two or three other orders came up behind us. There was plenty of seating, spaced nicely for groups. Now.... For the food.... The fish, while not beer battered ( which I always prefer with a whitefish) it was crispy, and HOT very HOT. But very flakey. While it was probably on me for not waiting a little bit to dive in a bit. But flavor wise, still tasty. The garlic fries, now I probably should have read the menu closer, or asked questions. But I would pass on the garlic fries, for one reason, it's just raw garlic on the fries. AGAIN, maybe it's just a personal preference/taste issue, but a toss in roasted garlic??? The raw on top was a bit much for me. The Fried Oreos, the batter was sweet and crunchy and tasty. But as you got to the Oreo, the filling was.... Almost.... Gone. I'm not sure if it was that the oil was so hot it melted it or what but just seem like it. In the end, if you are in the area and looking for a fish fix, I would stop, but would I tell someone seek them out JUST to go there, unfortunately probably not.

Yelp
We stopped by the other weekend and it was pretty good but not really the 5 star experience we've been having with them over the years. We tried the fish tacos and the sauce was good but there was not enough of it. I was surprised based on the service in the past when I asked for a little more that they were charging extra for it. It's already a pretty pricy place for counter service.
google avatar

SungYeun Y.

Yelp
Nice place to stop by and have a meal. Great fish&chips. Clam chowder is nice and bread of bread bowl is delicious
google avatar

Olivia K.

Yelp
This food truck was amazing! The staff was very friendly and the fish was so fresh and delicious. Next time I'm in San Francisco, I would immediately go to this place again. The fish was buttery, freshly made to order, and had good flavor. This is a must!
google avatar

Yelp
What a codmother for fish in chips!!!! Out of curiosity we went out of our way to look for this food truck around the Fisherman's wharf area of San Francisco. The idea of cod fish, battered and fried, crispy piping hot tempted us to pay them a visit. The serving look so generous as we observed the plates of several dining guests. We decided--as we are used to in San Antonio--to get the Baja fish taco instead. We were done with lunch and it's too early for dinner so taco it is, the serving is just perfectly enough. We got two big portions of the codfish over a bed shredded cabbage/coleslaw wrapped in a flour tortilla. The batter coated codfish tasted fresh and it was good since it was cooked to order. Nothing really extraordinarily different or special here except we really know the fish was fresh. We think most places here that serve seafood are generally serving the freshest seafood that San Francisco can offer. For a food truck, the customer service was good and food tasted good too. Nothing much to say about the Codmother Fish and Chips but honestly, it's not worth visiting for a second time. There's more way better places that serve fish and chips in the Pier area.
google avatar

Jasmine T.

Yelp
During a bday trip to SF, my boyfriend took me to The Codmother for lunch! The Codmother is a food truck near Fisherman's Wharf that serves everything from fish & chips, clam chowder, fries & calamari. We ordered: Fully Loaded Fries Fish & Chips Clam Chowder All the portions were pretty big, especially these loaded fries. It was covered with garlic, cheddar & Baja sauce. Def one of my fav loaded fries & dipping it in the Clam Chowder enhances it. Parking is metered street parking or paid parking garages. Will definitely be coming back to this spot
google avatar

Johanne M.

Yelp
This place, hands down, had the best clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl and best fried fish I ever had! I loved that the location is outside the touristy area of Fisherman's Wharf which may account for the fact that there wasn't a crowd in line. There were tables underneath umbrellas to sit at to comfortably eat your food which I totally appreciated. Not all places have that in the area and you either have to walk around while you eat or find some place to sit. Food came out fast and piping hot! I burnt my tongue in my eagerness to get a bite of that fish so I suggest you break it open to let all that heat escape. The burn was worth it! This place is amazing and I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Great clam chowder, calamari, fish tacos and fries! The wait wasn't long at all either!
google avatar

Draco L.

Yelp
Came here with some friends for a Saturday dinner. I ordered a classic Fish & Chips. The wait wasn't long, and despite the less-than-ideal outdoor seating due to the chilly bay winds, the food more than made up for it. The fish was perfectly battered, hot and crispy, tender and absolutely delicious. I love tartar sauce, and theirs hit the spot. The chips were also very crispy and thick. 100% coming here again!
google avatar

Zohabe B.

Yelp
Good service, nice seating. The clam chowder was great! The fish and chips were decent but a bit too heavy.
google avatar

Rishikesh T.

Yelp
It was a mediocre experience at best. I was reading through the reviews before deciding on visiting the place. One review indicated that the fish was very bland- I should have paid heed, that turned out to be my exact experience. Tartar sauce was good, fries were fries. The service was decent- order was served in 10 mins. I don't think the taste of the food was good enough for me to be lured into visiting this place again.
google avatar

G K.

Yelp
The F&C was perfect eating it in front of aquatic park. That ocean view atmosphere enhances the taste. Could of had a 2nd order but we were pressed for time.

Yelp
Delicious food and excellent value, a must try! I was on a business trip to Oakland and decided to add a last-minute day to do some sightseeing in the Fisherman's Wharf area. While exploring for a quick lunch option with minimal crowd, I stumbled onto this eatery. Overall, this is a hidden gem that beats so many overcrowded restaurants at Fisherman's Wharf. Located about 10 mins walk from Pier 39, this eatery is a permanent food truck with limited outdoor sitting area. The menu is very simple, with mostly fried seafood, tacos, and clam chowder. The prices range from $12 to $20, and the serving size is generous enough to be shared among 2 people. For my lunch, I got the clam chowder and fried calamari. The fried calamari was perfectly done with light batter on the outside and tender squid inside. The clam chowder was wonderful as well, with a generous amount of clam and potatoes. As for the service, my food was ready within 5 minutes. The dining area was clean and the staff was very friendly. This eatery is also popular among the locals, which is another good sign of its quality! Highly recommend!

Yelp
What a delicious treat. We walked down the Embarcadero for a few miles, passed through Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. Pier 39 was pretty busy, but nothing stood out, everything looked the same as it always does. Pier 39 was so run down. Found this place and they are just a few blocks away from Fishermans Wharf. Worth the few extra steps. Cute little permanent food truck with a good amount of seats. We walked right up and placed our order. Took about 15 min to come out. Little wait, but for a reason. Freshhhh Order of fish and chips, upgraded the chips to Crazy style and clam chowder in a bread bowl. Fish and chips - fish was fresh, coating was nicely cooked and had a wonderful crunch. Not too greasy. Crazy fries were delicious!!!! Crispy steak fries with garlic and melted parmesan cheese. Clam Chowder Bread Bowl - chowder itself was fresh, hot and flavorful. Cooked very well, clams were soft and tasty. Bread bowl was like any other. Next time I'll ask if they can do the garlic and parm toasted on the bread bowl before they put chowder. I think this would take it all up a level.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was great food was excellent! We had the fried calamari and shrimp tacos they were fresh!!
google avatar

Misty E.

Yelp
Whenever we visit the Bay Area, we try to stop by the Wharf and get fish & chips from The Codmother. It's been a while but we stopped by on playoff Sunday. We ordered online easily and stopped by to pick up the food when it was ready (you receive a text when ready). It's a permanent food truck with a few tables to eat outside if you'd like. The prices were affordable too. We both got the combo of fish, shrimp and chips. The fish are large and fresh! Delicious! Service was good too. No complaints here. Metered or garage parking is available.
google avatar

Lisa X.

Yelp
Another long overdue review. When I'm better, I would like to go to Britain and indulge in a mega pint (hehe) and some fish and chips, but that's not possible right now. So thankful for Codmother giving us pieces of deliciously fried fish, chips, and many more... we visited months ago, but I still remember how much I enjoyed sitting outside and eating fish and chips!
google avatar

Katie N.

Yelp
If you are looking for fish and chips at a good price with fast service that also tastes delicious, look no further! A very simple menu, which is expected with a food truck but they definitely deliver on quality. Fish fried to a perfect crisp with tender flaky meat inside -yum! The tacos had hefty portions of fish and a killer sauce on top. Service was friendly and the seating area offered picnic tables both in the sun and shade. My GPS tried to tell me this place is on Jones St, but it's tucked just around the corner on Beach St. they also close pretty early (7pm) so don't plan for a late meal.
google avatar

Lala C.

Yelp
Stopped in on Wednesday and was broken hearted that it's the only day that it's closed. Making up and going today for my calamari fix. Just the best. I made it! Add three packets of Tapatio hot sauce and a squeeze of lemon to dip sauce, delicious!

A M.

Yelp
Fresh food excellent choice for something quick. Highly recommend. Trying the calamari next.
google avatar

Khierstin G.

Yelp
I remember coming here when my eldest son was a baby and being greeted by The Codmother herself! We arrived at a good time as the lunch rush was just minutes away. The Codmother suggested a couple items for us to try along with some deep fried oreos for later. Hands down the best fish & chips I've ever had. The cod was hot, fresh out the fryer, thick and crispy. The chips (fries) were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Would definitely come again.
google avatar

Karen W.

Yelp
I'm a Brit living in SF. This place was recommended to me for its UK authenticity. My colleague and I ordered the standard fish & chips. The fish was soggy with a spongey batter that tasted stale. The chips were awful, not freshly fried. If you're a Brit, don't come here expecting English fish and chips. The owner maybe English but she panders to the tourists with overpriced, poorly executed food that she represents is authentic fish and chips.
google avatar

Branden G.

Yelp
Eating here was a nice treat. I ordered clam chowder and fish and chips; both orders were delicious. The fish was perfectly crisp, and the clam chowder was creamy. Also, the lady who took my order was friendly and helpful. I would come back whenever I return to the city!
google avatar

Gloria K.

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing service!! Both the fish and the shrimp were so fresh and flavorful! The garlic fries were also so garlicky and delicious! Service was so fantastic, the two gentlemen working were so kind and welcoming! Will return next time I'm in SF!
google avatar

Angelina B.

Yelp
The food was decent, though the clam chowder was too runny for my taste. The flavor was alright, but I would have preferred it to be creamier. I also ordered the fish and chips with garlic fries. The aioli was too bitter for me, even though I usually love lemon aiolis. It wasn't the best fish and chips I've ever had, but it did satisfy my craving.
google avatar

Nathan L.

Yelp
Fish and chips is one of my favorite foods and I've always had a fascination with trying it in England. Found this place on a website and it was close to where I'm staying. I was between the calamari and the fish and chips but then I read the owner is from England I felt like I had to go with the fish and chips. After trying two places owned by someone from England that specialize in fish and chips (the other a Gordon Ramsay place in NY), I just think their fish is, honestly, kinda OK. The place is perfectly fine but to me nothing to get really excited about as the fried fish is underseasoned. Like it just needs some more salt to it. The piece of fish was a good size (though the first bite was just batter and no fish), the fries were perfectly serviceable if also a little underseasoned. The shrimp was Ok too. I didn't even think the prices were that bad. Maybe this is just how the English do it and my American taste buds just want more salt. Who knows? But I doubt I would come back again unless it was to try the calamari
google avatar

Sharon V.

Yelp
I ordered the fish/shrimp combo with fries. It was a large serving & simply delicious. The batter on the cod was light, the shrimp were juicy & fried to perfection. I am serious about my sauce and they did not disappoint! The cocktail sauce & tartar sauce were both outstanding. The pricing was on point for the amount of food. I'll be back!!
google avatar

Arshad H.

Yelp
The Codmother Fish & Chips is a highly rated fish and chips spot on Fisherman's Wharf. They are a food truck with several tables outside. I was eager to get my fish and chips fix so I ordered their combo and a clam chowder bowl. Combo ($19) - This consisted of 2 pieces of battered fish (average size), thick cut fries, and 4 pieces of shrimp. Without the shrimp, this is $17. The fish was flaky and the batter was light and crispy, however it wasn't as good as Gordon Ramsay's Fish and Chips. Plus the pricing here is several dollars more than Gordon Ramsay's, which is a little surprising considering that this is a food truck with a few outdoor tables. The shrimp and fries were both crispy and went well with the cocktail sauce and ketchup. New England Clam Chowder (no bacon) ($13) - I was impressed with the taste of the clam chowder here. It was rich and creamy with an average amount of clams and potatoes. It definitely should have had more clams given the price point. Overall, I really enjoyed the fish and chips here, as well as the clam chowder. Pricing here is RIDICULOUS and the reason why I will not be coming back. It's a ONE and DONE deal for me.
google avatar

Dmitry R.

Yelp
The food here is great. The clam chowder was delicious. Fish was very fresh and tasty. The only thing is, the seating is outside. On a good day this place is 5 stars.
google avatar

Stella W.

Yelp
Fun location. It's a food truck with tables to seat. I went in with a very high expectation given all the rave reviews, maybe that's why i only gave 4 stars. This is a solid fish & chips place comparing to what we got back home. The fish we got wasn't that big to be honest. It's a good size alright. It's flaky but one of them has a hint of fishness. The batter is on the thicker side and not as crispy as i would expect, but it's still better than a lot of fried fish i have had (in the midwest). The claim chowder was decent. It's buttery and is more flavourful than the bland claim chowder we got off of one of the vendors close to Fisherman's Wharf. All in all I enjoyed the meal here.

Our goal was to find some yummy clam chowder and fish and chips, and this place was perfect. When we walked up to the food truck, I realized I had been there quite a few years back, and we found ourselves back again. With such amazing reviews, how could we not come back! This is a cute food truck with a nice little seating area. - Fish, shrimp and chips (4.5/5): So crispy, big portion. Fries are a bit thick for me but still yummy. The fish though, so delicious. - Clam chowder bread bowl (4/5): Classic clam chowder in a bowl. Sourdough is the perfect pairing, to dip and just eat the bread. Great flavor overall.
