At The Court Cafe, a gem on the Westchester-Inglewood border, you can indulge in delightful Southern breakfast dishes like lobster and waffles or taco omelettes, all served up in a relaxed vibe that feels like home.
"Taco Mell’s Jermelle Henderson and Bleu Kitchen’s Calvin Johnson opened Court Cafe in 2019. The menu combines their unique approach to food and drink that resonate in South LA, with dishes like a taco omelet, lobster and waffles, and a colorful mimosa flight to accompany the spread. The dining room, often full on weekend mornings, features wooden tables and chairs with television vantage points from all corners." - Mona Holmes

Owners Jermelle Henderson (Taco Mell) and Calvin Johnson (Bleu Kitchen) opened Court Cafe in 2019 with a daytime menu that includes a taco omelet, red velvet hotcakes, lobster and waffles, Fruity Pebble french toast, plus a colorful mimosa flight to accompany the spread." - Eater Staff
"Court Cafe is the delicious collective restaurant from Taco Mell’s Jermelle Henderson, Bleu Kitchen’s Calvin Johnson, and Keith Garett of All Flavor No Grease. Together, they combine their unique South LA food style like the taco omelet, the crowd-pleasing lobster and waffles, and the colorful mimosa flight." - Farley Elliott, Mona Holmes
"A breakfast spot in Ladera Heights, Court Cafe is a definite cut above the usual greasy spoon diner. The portions are all big enough for two, especially the multiple-pound Ocho Burrito with fried shrimp, lobster, chorizo, potatoes, and eggs—it’s as good, massive, and out-there as it sounds. We also like the shrimp and grits and the taco omelet, with spiced ground chicken, guacamole, and cheese sauce. We suspect they use a dozen eggs in this thing, so make sure you’re ready for leftovers." - Nikko Duren, Garrett Snyder
"OK - so Court Cafe doesn’t serve a lobster roll. But once you taste their fried lobster tail and waffle, you’ll know why it’s on this list. They fry the lobster tail until it’s crunchy but still moist, and throw it on top of a waffle that’s crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. It’s topped with a sprig of rosemary, and comes with approximately a half a pound of their excellent peach cobbler butter, which somehow goes perfectly with the salty fried lobster." - brett keating
