While walking to Foxtail Coffee Company, my wife and I noticed this spot that looked like a cool hangout to check out at night (it was afternoon when we first noticed and wasn't opened yet). And lo and behold, the Courtesy was not only a cool hangout but a magical one with bartenders that creates gorgeous cocktails in dark-lit, gothic-like interior with marble countertops, and good vibes.
With cocktails with names such as the King of Kaiju, Violet Beauregarde, and Monkey Shines, the Courtesy allows you to unwind, relax, and enjoy time away from the normal bustle of life. Each of the cocktails has its own character, presentation, and feel in addition to the flavors you imbibe with each sip. The aged cachaca-forward Monkey Shines has a groovy array of coconut and passion fruit tastes with a middle banana that radiates tropical vibes. The King of Kaiju steers with gin, shochu, and singani, with pineapple and lime and matcha for a fine balance of citrus and creaminess, with a vanilla wafer for garnish. While the first two cocktails were amazing presentation and satisfying with the flavors I tasted, the Violet Beauregarde was probably my favorite with its blueberry and vanilla notes that brought me to a place of spiritual purity and strength; strength and spiritual purity. Combined with the spicy rye and amaro notes, this cocktail was magical on a wizardry level.
The bartenders we had on both nights we went during our stay in Winter Park were chatty, knowledgeable, very engaging and affable, and definitely had their familiarity with music such as the Death Cab show we watched on the second night. I would come back to Winter Park just to enjoy more cocktails at the Courtesy.
