Mediterranean-inspired seasonal cooking with sunset views

"If you want to eat dinner at Crow’s Nest, come early. Like, before 6pm early. This restaurant, located within a hotel property on Lake Montauk, is first come, first served and is one of the best dining experiences in the area. While the menu is full of Montauk staples (fluke crudo, scallops, lobster pasta), they’re all a little more interesting than most of what you’ll find nearby. The tuna tartare, for example, melds ingredients like black caramel, chili, shallot, and chives. If you can’t get a table, or have to wait, the property is huge, and the beach bar is an excellent low-key, yet still kind of sceney hang." - melissa kravitz hoeffner, team infatuation

"Come sunset, Montauk’s Crow’s Nest is absolutely magical. Arrive early—because there’s going to be a wait—but enjoy a cocktail in the meantime down by the lake. Once you’re seated, ideally with a view of the rolling lawn, order the whipped ricotta. And should you really want the full experience, book a room or one of the more tucked-away cottages." - Elise Taylor
"Crow's Nest takes me back. Anytime a restaurant, whether it's the city or the Hamptons, has stood the test of time—which in the hospitality industry might be just three years—it's impressive. I know my first dinner there was in 2013 or 2014. It's no longer on the menu, but they had this brisket, and now they have an incredible ribeye. A lot of times you get to Montauk and you end up eating local seafood. It's a fishing town! Maybe I was a little under the influence, but I remember that first meal being one of the best I've ever had. It's also a beautiful restaurant—you go outside and it has this very homey feel. You can walk down to the water and watch the sunset. There's plenty of like benches and swings and stuff. It's a big sunset spot."—KC "Also, if you have a boat, you can take it up close enough to walk into the water and go right to the restaurant."—DO" - brennan carley
