Those are the kind of sandwiches that The Dusty Knuckle, a bakery off Kingsland Road, makes every day. The bread (whether sourdough or focaccia) is seriously good and the fillings, be it saucy meatballs or sticky tofu, are the same. Our go-to is the roasted beetroot and carrot number if it's on. "For: A morning bun and a sandwich Unsliced rather than sliced bread is the greatest thing ever, as evidenced by the potato sourdough, springy oily focaccia, and everything else from The Dusty Knuckle. This social enterprise bakery in Dalston is a great place for a pastry (the morning bun) first thing, sandwich (any) at lunchtime, or sourdough pizza Thursday to Saturday. "The Dusty Knuckle’s morning bun is a constant sell-out. Swirled and dusted with sugar, golden and crispy on the outside, but soft and doughy in the centre. Other than their legendary pastries and sandwiches—don't skip anything featuring focaccia—are changing plates every week. Always expect a ravenous queue waiting at their Dalston and Green Lanes locations for bread or brunch.
