I hate leaving bad reviews, but here it is. Made a reservation about a month ago- Mother's Day is one of THE busiest days of the year. When we arrived I noticed that there was no mask encouragement in place. That's ok, I'm vaccinated and I didn't bring my unvaccinated children to be exposed. The main room had really pretty booths with many groups (not quite full) and we were led to the bar room. After a seating snafu, we finally settled into permanent seats. I looked around and saw most of the staff wearing masks. After waiting for over 5 minutes, a passing server asked if we had been helped- We ordered bottomless mimosas and a bottle of Aldi brand Burlwood sparkling wine (approx $6-$9/bottle- i shop Aldi regularly) was placed on our table (no ice bucket) with 2 decanters of selected juices. I think the table issue we had created a negative impact on the way our service went. We were about halfway through our wine when another passing server asked if we had been helped(I don't know who is in charge of the floor/table assignments at this point) so we asked if we could please order some food. We ordered the avocado toasts (see attached picture of menu) and each ordered a waffle & chicken sandwich. We finally got our food an hour after our reservation started. They brought the waffles first. Small, but maybe they were some kind of wow, we hoped. Oops, no silverware or napkins on the table. No salt or pepper. Then the server brings our avocado "toast" and we requested silverware and s&p. We also asked for more mimosas. When we finally had the tools to eat it became very apparent this was not the quality for the price we were hoping for. Absolutely disappointing. Microwaved "scrambled egg" and a frozen chicken tender with melted cheese. The "fry" was so soggy i could spread it on toast. The avocado mini toasts were not even toasted. A smear of avocado and poorly sliced grape tomatoes looked real thrown together. We asked for the manager- Sean. He approached us wearing a mask(thank you) and was very reasonable and understanding. He even got us an ice bucket for our bottle of champagne. He did remove the uneaten food from the table and removed the cost from our check- he offered to comp our mimosa but we drank those and we are fair people, so we declined that offer and asked to pay for them. We also wanted to be sure to tip, so we asked for our tab. I want to tell you- it was NOT overly busy, but i looked into the main room and saw some very unhappy faces searching for someone, anyone, food maybe? It was explained they are a champagne bar with small plates- that is fine, but put some quality into the food you're serving people- or just give them snacks & charge accordingly. Was told there was only 1 person in their kitchen, but we see 3 bartenders not in the weeds. Maybe restructuring the staff would help. The unmasked bartender ended up bringing our tickets(no pens) and we were each charged $20 for our mimosas. If you just wanna take a photo in front of a fake floral wall, this is your spot! If you want to get drunk and not eat- you found it!
